Hi, I'm the anon that asked about how to improve at writing smut. I started a writing blog called LittleGhoulGhost in which I write for the characters of the band Ghost. My writing style is fit more for snippets and glimpses into the lives of the characters, but I want to be able to do chapter stories as well. I've read your work for a long time, and originally found you on AO3. How do I improve my writing stamina and string chapters together? The way I think is in movie format, and it's typically only for certain moments. It's hard to get what I see into words.

Moving from drabbles to series can be a challenge, for sure! With longer stories, I find writing a synopsis/summary of each chapter helps, or even just a rough outline of your whole story. It doesn't even matter if you write it in order, you can always go back and tweak it if your characters end up going in a different direction (they will do that!).

When you say you think in movie format, so you mean you see the scenes/pictures, rather than the words? Because my brain works the same, I don't think in words, I replay the scenes over and over in my head (usually at about 3am but eh, that's being a writer, I suppose 🤣) and even do it with ones I've already written if I'm not entirely happy with them.

My other tip for writing a long series; it can sometimes be useful to just not write it in chapters to start. Write the whole thing, as rough as you like, then reread it a bunch of times and figure out where your chapter placement would work best. I tend to keep my chapters between 1k and 4k, but please bear in mind, I'm actually crazy, your chapters can be as long as you like.

As with all writing, the real key is practice, practice, practice. Get yourself a friend or a fellow writer who is happy to check your work for grammar etc., reread it as much as you can (you will never catch ALL the typos but don't feel bad about it, major publishers miss them sometimes too!) and make as many edits/drafts as you need. Make moodboards, banners, really get into your story.

Most of all, don't feel bad about how long it takes. Writing is bloody hard! I've got WIPs I've been working on for three years 😬 with the stamina, while yes, you wanna get the work done, don't force it. I've found forcing it only frustrates me with what I've written, and you cannot rush any form of art. Take your time, and enjoy the world you're creating.

(Side note: I had no idea who Ghost was before they started playing them a lot on Planet Rock and now my favorite song is Call Me Little Sunshine)

It's been a while since I thought about Delta. So here are some random fun facts about her.

1. Delta is a born ghoul. This is uncommon. Not due to a lack of born ghouls, but simply due to the fact that the number is so much lower than that of created ghouls. Born ghouls are probably only 10-20% of the ghoul population. Not only that, but there are a lot of ghouls who just don't want to reproduce, especially in Hell.

2. Delta can't play any instruments. Originally I was going to say she gets the same job LG has in my other AU, but I decided not to go with that. I think they would try it out at first, but it's not where her talents lie. Instead she's an apprentice under the ancient ghoulette currently serving as the abbey's seamstress. Delta will be in charge of the band's wardrobe during tours since the seamstress stays on church grounds.

3. Delta comes from a pack of mostly unrelated ghouls. Her parents weren't mates, but they do spend heats together now and then. They love each other very much, even if they aren't in love with each other. She is also their only cub.

So I finally was able to watch the Halloween trilogy that has come the last few years, and I loved the first two movies. The third one was a bit disappointing for me. Like, its Halloween. Why isn't Michael the main guy? Why is Corey the main baddie? I wanted Laurie slowly coming to terms with Michael's obsession with her, hating it but knowing he'd never stop until he had her. I wanted her making a deal with him. She has him kill Corey, let Allyson live, and then she and Michael die together. I'm pretty fucking sure I saw something where Jamie Lee Curtis said she basically considered it a dark romance. I WANT DARK ROMANCE VIBES. GIVE ME THE MURDER HOBO DYING WITH HIS LADY DAMN IT.

Can you imagine the line Laurie would hook him with!? "What do you say? You and me, in Hell. Just the two of us."

FUCKING GIVE IT TO ME!!!

Confession: I love the Michael Myers/Laurie Strode pairing. I'm an absolute sucker for dark romance, and I want it desperately. I want there to be more FF of them, but Green and Rob Zombie ruined it by making them siblings in the old sequels. I'm so glad they're not in the new trilogy.

But anyways, yeah. I want all of the Michael/Laurie fanfics. Gimme.

When Terzo has his daughter he's a very protective dad. For the first year instead of leaving her with someone when he was busy, he just wore her on his chest. He'd even do mass with her stuck to him. Nihil tried once or twice to get Terzo to leave her behind, it didn't end well. Terzo isn't an aggressive person, but the whole abbey heard him yelling at his father. It only ended because the baby started to cry. After that Nihil was a little scared of his son's temper.

Terzo's ghouls became his daughter's caretakers when he couldn't be around or take her with him. They had a rule of doing check up every hour, even if it was just a text or a picture. Terzo also saves every picture they send him of her. He has an entire album dedicated to her, and it rivals his album of fan pictures even after only a year. And he has a fuck ton of fan pictures.

Basically, Terzo is the best girl dad ever. And he's obsessed with being a good father to his princess. That isn't to say he spoils her to the point of becoming a brat, he teaches her a lot of responsibility and good, respectable ethics.

So I was just doing some late night scrolling through Pinterest until my sleep meds kick in, right? And mainly I was looking at Simon 'Ghost' Riley from COD because that man is an absolute dreamboat. And apparently a bunch of people think he's ugly now because it was confirmed he looks like his model/voice actor just like all the other characters??? Like, y'all. He ain't ugly, he just ain't your type. I saw people calling him a thing, saying he needed to put the mask back on, really everything in the book. They completely forgot they weren't just talking about a character. Basically I got really disappointed by a percentage of the COD community. I never played the games besides Black Ops Zombies, but I have very distinct memories of watching my brother play. It just made me kinda sad and disappointed.

Was thinking about my fictional crushes and my boyfriend and had this thought:

Terzo felt like he was dying. His chest was tight, lungs screaming for air as he sobbed. He hadn't cried in years. Not since his mother had disowned him and transferred from the main abbey when he was a child. And now here he was, crying like a child because his best friend was dead and left him alone to raise their daughter. She didn't even get to hold her before she began to hemorrhage.

His child was screaming in his arms, her pink face scrunched as his paint ran and stained her blanket. But he couldn't stop. He wasn't sure he even wanted to. How was he meant to raise their child by himself? She should have been here, not wheeled away to the morgue to be readied for the crypt tucked under the abbey. She was supposed to be here.

His father was nowhere to be seen, just as he had been as soon as he'd heard the news of his impending granddaughter. Because Terzo was supposed to have a son to carry on the mantle of Papa, not a daughter who would sully their name. But he had ordered it. Terzo didn't want a child. He liked them, but that didn't mean he thought he'd be a good father. It's not as if he'd had a good example.

Terzo knew he would be expected to hand off his child to someone else, to produce an actual heir with another Sister of Sin. He couldn't do that. Despite his fear, he could do nothing but cradle his daughter tightly to his chest. He couldn't let her go.

The little heathen that had me worried all night. She's satisfied with herself.

Does Terzo ever bring his daughter to work with him?

He does! He's a really good dad; does his best to make sure he has enough time in the day for her, even if that means taking her to work. Work could be filling out papers in his office, meetings with his father and brothers, practice with his ghouls, and even the more age appropriate black masses.

Terzo knows what it's like to be neglected by your parents, and he never wants his kid to feel like that. She already lost one parent, he doesn't want her to lose another. Papa Nihil gets kinda salty about Terzo bringing his kid everywhere, especially when she was a baby and would cry, but he's been told off enough by his sons and hissed at by enough ghouls to mostly keep his mouth shut. His health is fragile enough, he doesn't need to add a heart attack to his list of illnesses.

I got up this morning to go to work, got there early, sat in the parking lot for 15 minutes, and no one was there. Checked the company's Facebook page, they said they're closed today. 🙃🙃🙃

Nobody told me this. In fact, they all acted like we were supposed to come back today. Fuck my life.

Swiss would be the best dad!

He would be! He'd be the kind of dad to comfort his kids, play with them, and teach them all the time. He would hate being away from his kids. Now that Aether is no longer touring, I think Swiss would trust his kids with him for longer periods of time if he had to.
