alright after re-reading The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers here is my list of minor and major things different from book to movie
Merry and Pippin figure out Frodo's plan to leave the Shire, and create their own secret plan to go with him
Barrow-Wights
Glorfindel meets Aragorn and the hobbits before the river, not Arwen
Aragorn is confident about his destiny and kingship
Anduril is remade before the fellowship sets out
There are a LOT more musical numbers
Theoden asks Aragorn to ride out with him at Helm's Deep, not vice versa
Eomer was at Helm's Deep from the beginning. He and Aragorn jump out to defend the gate with Gimli
Erkenbrand and the trees of Fangorn show up as reinforcements to Helm's Deep with Gandalf, not Eomer
Eomer and Aragorn are SUCH good friends
Treebeard and the Ents make up their minds pretty quickly about marching on Isengard
Saruman and Wormtongue are left together trapped in Orthanc
Faramir doesn't even think for a split SECOND about taking the ring
No "there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo" speech
Sam as Frodo's "servant" is emphasized much more by the language
Frodo and Sam go into Shelob's lair together. There's no trickery or betrayal on the stair.

I am SO grateful that ed and stede exist as characters exactly as they are. I'm so grateful for these two men who are traumatized and messed up and struggle to even like themselves, who are terrible at communicating, who make enough mistakes between the two of them to fill an entire ocean. I am so grateful to watch them struggle and be seen and be loved and reach out for the things they want and are maybe starting to believe that they deserve. I'm so grateful that the show lets them fall in love and get together exactly as they are, that it doesn't say they need to wait until they've become some unattainably perfect version of themselves before they have permission to have that. i am so grateful for ofmd

Jasico Bingo Challenge: CHB Jason
Nico isn’t sure what’s worse: the fact that his childhood best friend seemingly disappeared into thin air a week ago, or the fact that the hottest guy he’s ever seen in his life has mysteriously appeared within Camp Jupiter’s walls.
“Of course it was the first cohort,” he overhears after a Senate meeting, whispered in the halls. “He must be crazy powerful, if Lupa didn’t even need to train him!”
“Shut up, that’s just a rumor. Everyone has to meet Lupa.”
“They definitely met,” the first voice insists. Nico leans further into his shadows. The pair pass in front of him. “But she just let him go.”
Hot guy is, of course, the gossip of the week. The month, even.
Nico privately decides that hot guy is worse, only because it seems like his presence alone has turned the Legion into morons who’ve forgotten their freakishly powerful, supposed-to-be-Praetor has literally evaporated. Poof! No more son of Neptune!
Nico would think the people who just a few years ago made a massive deal out of every move said son of Neptune made would pay a little more attention to the fact that the whole freaking man is gone!
But no. There’s new gossip to be had, about a blonde with drool-worthy eyes and a scar on his lip and a suspiciously-missing backstory.
Spend enough time in the Underworld, and you learn to suspect the whole amnesia act. Shades always know more than they pretend to.
As the senate hall empties, Nico sinks fully back into the shadows.
He will not let this stand.

You guys I’m still in a state of shock about the Obi-Wan show. I can’t believe it’s a real thing. I can’t believe in the year of our lord 2022 I saw EWAN MCGREGOR AS OBI WAN and will get to see MORE?!??! in the coming days??
Things I am still reeling from in disbelief:
they based the storyline on forcing Obi-Wan out of exile because 10yo Leia is in mortal danger like WHAT. WHAT. that feels like something I would joyfully read a 130k fic of and NEVER even once imagine that I would get to see on live television. when I tell you how I froze in disbelief as they panned over the Alderaan cityscape?????
The interaction between Bail Organa and baby Leia. he is my MAN. the father of the decade. perhaps the ONLY father in the SW universe worthy of the title
how EXACTLY they nailed baby Leia’s characterization. The running away. The slicing into people’s deepest insecurities and verbally eviscerating them. The constant skepticism. Truly poetry in motion.
LEIA IS SUPER INTO STARSHIPS OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED. fjmgjfmhgj I have known this in my heart all my LIFE and now its canon!??
Obi-Wan being as deep into his paralyzing exile malaise as he was took me a bit by surprise, but I think it’s a good and valid choice characterization wise.

The interactions between Obi-Wan and Leia are priceless. I will hold them in my heart forever. When he instantly buys her the gloves after literally just saying she doesn’t need them?

Jason stood in the middle of the pavilion, frozen along with the other campers. Dark circles shadowed bloodshot eyes as Jason stared at the hero who once cared for him, at the villain who was responsible for the last few weeks of sleepless nights.
Did Luke know, about the prayers that Jason risked the gods' wrath with, day and night, for his sister's tree to survive?
Did Luke know, about the meals that went ignored, as he stood guard alone to protect his sister's tree after the poisoning?
Did Luke know, about the children of Apollo and dryads he yelled at for not doing more?
No, Luke didn't. He poisoned Thalia's tree.
He gave up on her.
The son of Zeus's fingers curled tightly around the celestial bronze xiphos.
From that gesture alone, regardless of the hundreds of miles that separate them, Luke felt the creep of lightning against his back.
With a roar, Jason slashed through the Iris Message, leaving Luke to be sprayed with water that felt more like teardrops than mist.

if we know that you're losing me was written over two years ago, and this album is the secret she's been keeping for two years....... i wonder if you're losing me was when the dam burst. i've seen so many people talking about how already, this album seems like the gloves are coming off in such a different way than ever before. i wonder if once she realized that he was losing her, she started to realize the harsh reality of other parts of the situation -- that protecting him was killing her.
