Mardi Gras just passed, and my Louisiana ass couldn’t help but make Straw Hat headcanons for the holiday. Please enjoy <3

How the Straw Hats Celebrate Mardi Gras!

First of all, they ofc have their own Krewe. Krewe de Sunny! And their float in the parade is modeled after their loyal ship.

Luffy LOVES the food, dude don’t let this guy get ahold of your crawfish bc he will eat it all. When it comes to the parade, he loves sitting at the front of the float (much like he does his ship) and throwing beads. He will be the one to throw too much and have none left at the end of the parade route, and he will cry about it. But it’s okay! Because he loves seeing the smile on ppl’s face when they manage to catch one that he threw. 10/10 loves this holiday. Also a menace at chase the chicken

Zoro will get fucking plastered. Perhaps will be drink enough to dance around. Won’t do much throwing at the parade, instead he likes to chill on the float with a drink in hand, and if he’s drunk enough he’ll dance around. Will challenge random ppl to drinking contests and they will ALL get lit as fuck because Cajuns can hold their damn liquor. 8/10 hella good beer.

Nami managed to convince the crew to throw a Mardi Gras ball, and she was ofc crowned Queen of the Krewe. She loves being decked out in beads and dressing to the nines. The whole week is a party! She’s absolutely having a blast and loves sitting atop the float in her fancy costume. 10/10 she’s the Queen af

Usopp loves the dancing!!! He can absolutely get down to Zydeco music and would dance until his feet fall off. While on the float, he loves throwing to people and spewing his tall tales of his adventures to anyone who would listen. And yeah, he’s gonna get shitfaced too. The parade is his favorite part, it’s so bright and fun! 10/10 will chase a chicken

Sanji is obviously in change of food for the ball and the whole week leading up to Fat Tuesday. I know this white boy can cook a MEAN gumbo. He loves seeing the ladies in all of their fancy costumes, so the parade is definitely one of his favorite parts. (He heard the rumor that this was a holiday where women would flash ppl and was very disappointed when he realized that it was a great exaggeration. Sorry Buddy, you gotta go to New Orleans for that.) He takes the week to learn how to cook home style Cajun and really enjoys it, especially when Nami and Robin pull up in their Ball fits. 9/10 AWOOGA

Chopper is absolutely that little kid who sits on his dad- I mean Zoro’s shoulders throughout the parade. He loves sitting high up and seeing the parade from above; the other floats, the people lining the streets, the colors and lights, it’s like nothing he’s ever seen. He’s literally in awe of everything, and when he tried King Cake he ascended to heaven. 10/10 so much fun

Robin helped Franky decorate the float, so you know it’s fabulous. She really enjoys the parade and has THE best throws. I’m talking the biggest beads as well as all the cool shit for the kids. Rubber footballs, bracelets, bubbles, plushies, all of it. She mostly throws to the kids and uses her fruit to ensure they catch it. God they’re so cute she can’t help herself. She also really enjoys the music. 10/10 a good time to let loose

Franky, as I mentioned, built the float by hand. It’s definitely the coolest one in the whole parade. It’s got like three decks and the Sunny on the front. It’s fucking sick. Loves the parade so much and can’t help but dance the whole time. I mean, look at this dude. Of course he’s gonna groove. Treats the parade like a big party (I mean, it is) and totally loves showing off his work on the float. 10/10 let’s boogie

Brook. Don’t even get me STARTED. He would LOVE Mardi Gras more than anything. Of course, our man is in charge of the music, and he can throw down some SICK NASTY Zydeco shit. It’s amazing. Also, the dude has an entire Krewe dedicated to him: Krewe de Soul King. He’s got his own float where he blasts music down the whole parade route. People fall ALL OVER this dude. And, of course, my man is King of the Krewe for both the Straw Hats and his own Krewe. He takes this shit to the next level, no one can stop him. 100/10 The King of Mardi Gras

Jinbe is definitely the chill dad. Yeah, maybe he’ll have a drink or two, but he’s here to see the kids have fun. He does enjoy the parade and the ball, he likes the bright colors and noisy fun everyone has. His favorite part is seeing the way the traditions are carried on from generations, but he prefers to kick back and watch as opposed to participating. He won’t really show it at first, but he’s really enjoying himself. 8/10 best dad

I loved doing this, it was really fun! If you wanna, plz drop some other characters so I can slap a Mardi Gras headcanon on them!!!

Can I bother with a question... I was (re)watching that zhang qiling edit (not today) - 'cause it's so cool, btw- and I wondered if Reboot Xiaoge’s your favourite one...? And if you're up to answering, what do you think about the other adaptations? Especially (our small bean) xiao yuliang's interpretation of xiaoge?

lol dang it, I was kinda hoping to avoid this question, just because I feel like I'd find it hella hard to explain some things, but I'll try my best and hopefully it'll make some sense xD

I'll start from afar bc I wanna try to explain my reasonings, since I don't want to go without arguments into such highly debated question lolz. I talked about this a bit in my previous asks somewhere, but not broadly as to why that one guy hit all the right spots.

So throughout the books Wu Xie always does this wonderful thing, where he very tangibly describes the feeling he gets when Xiaoge is near, I mean like the aura around him. And he always somehow does it so colorful, that this mix of safety, assurance, calmness, composure and some things I can't quite put into one noun, that he brings to him, I think everyone who've read the books can recognize as this almost magical "Xiaoge feeling". It's not just the way he acts in some dangerous situations or smth like that. It's just everything. You either have it or you don't. And here goes my first argument... to me none of them, except for Huang Junjie and Yuliang have it.

I mean it's not even the obvious stuff, it's like the way they move during the action scenes, the way they even stand and hold themselves, the way they touch Wu Xie, the tone of their voices (both of which are like soothing as fuck), little things you'd think wouldn't matter, but when you watch it and all the puzzle pieces are together, you're like... fuck yeah, thats him.

Also not really that weighty of a point, but to me there's always a joy to see that the actor who plays the character not only gets what's he's playing, but also loves it, bc it's always seen on screen. Usually when some asked about the character they play and what they have in common for example they answer with obvious things like if some character is introverted they're like "well I also don't talk very much" or smth like that, you know what I mean. When I was watching interviews of Yuliang and Huang Junjie I was just smiling so much, bc they've said such things that made me go "yeah, Qiling is safe in their hands".

In Reboot case working in such close proximity with the author definitely also played a huge role here. Bc it kinda gets complicated in some aspects since the books are written from Wu Xie's point of view and you can't only base your picture on his perspective, just bc it's coming from a person who after being basically told "you're my whole world" goes "I'm just a person he randomly passes by in his long life" in his thoughts. Not only he's utterly clueless and dumb when it comes to all this, that he wouldn't notice the way Qiling looks at him and other things, its also not that kind of book, that would go "I suddenly caught poker face looking at me like I'm his whole existence" (and I honestly don't want it to be that book lmao). So you have to take into the account here stuff like what author says to get the whole picture, bc if you look at that from the point of Qiling's view for example, this shit takes a whole wild turn. So I really loved that in UN and Reboot ways of showing Qiling's feelings were well thought out and fit the timeline.

Bc it also works both ways, when it comes to other adaptations. Like Qiling is very and I mean ETREMELY hard to win over. We all know that it was a very long process of gaining his trust and even longer for him to fall for Wu Xie to the point of him being his everything. So what I want in those interpretations is for them to get at which point of their relationships what Xiaoge's behavior makes sense. I do not need any fanservice if it ruins the character, I'll just hate it. The thing that their feelings didn't come out of nowhere is what I LOVE about this ship, bc I'm not the kind of person who believes in "we love for nothing" thing and love at first sight thing (only "got hots for each other" at first sight), bc thats bull. Wu Xie became his everything after a long LONG process of getting to know each other. At the beginning tho he was the same stranger to him as everyone else. So what Reboot Qiling feels for Wu Xie is not what UN's Qiling feels for Wu Xie yet and what UN's Qiling feels for Wu Xie is not what Lost Tomb's Qiling feels for Wu Xie (which at that point was nothing). And I feel like not everyone gets the fact that you can totally wreck the character if you make him behave not the way he behaved in that particular time. Like for example, if someone would make a MDZS adaptation where at the very beginning of their relationships LZ treats WWX the way he treated him after the reincarnation just because "who cares, it's still LZ", that would be dumb af, see what I mean. So Xiaoge having a weakness for Wu Xie in part one is automatically not a Xiaoge to me, bc a huge part of his character and the thing NPSS speaks a lot about is just how IMPOSSIBLE it is for someone to catch his attention and how long it took Wu Xie to get there. So let's just say to me UN and Reboot Qilings for the first time didn't feel like some mashup or character summary/parody, they were Qilings the way they are supposed to be in that part of the story, bc it was the only times someone actually bothered to coordinate it.

Now as to why I prefer one to another. Xiaoge has this thing... the way he holds himself with other people, that is sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally suppressing.

Like everyone knows that if you're a passerby, Qiling genuinely doesn't fucking care and would in fact be pretty harsh about it in terms of treating people like they do not deserve their attention. He won't be like "please, don't bother me", he simply ignored them like an empty space. He is also like that with acquaintances who in his opinion do not deserve his respect like that girl who went hysterical, bc she was upset that he was the only one who wasn't drooling on her like all other men on the crew, Chen Wenjin, Wu Xie's uncles and etc. He's not openly disrespectful unless they trigger him in some way (usually by trying to act superior or later on for not treating Wu Xie right), but if they do, he will in fact remind them their place in sometimes a very rude way, at times humiliating them in front of ppl bc he looks younger than them and talking starts.

He's always doing things on his own terms and hates being told what to do. Like he legit scared Chen Wenjin just with a look and the tone of his voice when he said "let go", when she tried to command him on the mission and grabbed him trying to lecture him about what he should or shouldn't do. That's why Wu Erbai didn't even try anything like this and let him do whatever he needed to do and equally lead the mission in Reboot. And why the scene where Wu Xie 'commands' "Xiaoge, come back" and he immediately listens holds another special place in my heart. Bc he NEVER and I mean NEVER allows such things to ANYONE.

So here I came to a point of why despite loving them both dearly, my favorite Xiaoge is Huang Junjie.

I have this dissonance with Yuliang's version when to me in many scenes it felt like he and Wu Xie are the same age. Like if he was Xiaoge, but in his 20s. In his interactions with Chen Wenjin the dynamics was turned upside down, with him being okay with her telling him what to do and just in general the way she behaved with him. Same as like I didn't always quite believe him to be on par with older generation or even Pangzi, it just felt like he was truly younger than them. Some scenes that I do find extremely cute just don't fit book Xiaoge at all, I'm talking about some moments like his face when Wu Xie gave him food, or him pouting and many things he's done, when you were going "uwu he's a baby". He just never gives me this feeling in the books ever, not just bc he's 100 years old, but sad fact here.. bc he's simply unable to behave that way. Like in the books you'll desperately want to shower him with love, but he's just... I can't quite explain, it's very sad.

I guess it's just you know these characters, who are like hundreds years old, but look like they're 18? I think you have to be very careful with how you write those, so you could deliver that. And in UN because of some changed dynamics and scenes I straight up forgot about it, until Wu Xie threw some joke like "he's an old man" in front of a restaurant.

In Reboot Xiaoge could make Wu Erbai stutter with one move, put Yuliang's version in the same scene, I just don't think it would've worked. Like I'm trying to imagine him telling UN's Wu Erbai what to do and having troubles already haha. Same as I don't think he's capable to be genuinely mad at Wu Xie, and HJJ nailed it esp in one of my fav when Wu Xie was laughing at Pangzi's joke about him catching cold. The look he gave him and how ZYL just retreated was priceless xD. And boy could Qiling get angry with him in the books!

Otherwise I didn't have any drastic fall outs there, like with Joseph's Wu Xie and Ah Ning's death, because that was just too much of a difference, but there were still moments where it was once again this the same scene completely different emotion thing. He was more tolerable to ppl in general here, more pliable. And 50% of the time he gave me the cute lost kitten type, which I just cannot connect with the feeling he gave me in the books. His personality is a cat type 100%, but like seriously "cute baby" is the last word combination I would ever apply to book Xiaoge, but with Yuliang's version it's easily applied. So small bean he is indeed. With Joseph and in UN it works incredibly perfect to me, but the way he is in UN is at times too gentle. And there are lots of scenes where Joseph himself looked at him in a way "you're too cute, let me pinch your cheeks" kind of way, or the way he like sat down next to him on the coast, he was a bit babying him at times. I can't imagine book pingxie doing that. It's just a whole different vibe, the way he takes care of him, the way he lets him take care of him... it's...uuuuuuuuu another vibe (see, I'm so good at explaining lmao).

It's also kinda funny to me, bc HJJ who's the smallest and who irl truly a kitten never once gave me that feeling on screen for some reason. The one babied and loved by every crew and old ppl, who was cutely hiding behind ZYL's back on set, who won't sue an ex who almost ruined his career bc of how stupid she is, bc he "didn't want to hurt her", who according to staff can't even step on a fly, whom CMH was petting for several minutes after he had to hit him with a prop brick bc he didn't wanna do it lmao. I was just like.. ok, this is hilarious, bc I in fact didn't expect him to be a small bean, so watching all the bts made me go LOOOOL. Probably ZYL acting like a 3 year old helped him transform and the age difference problem got lost lmao

As for other adaptations. You know I can't watch seriously "Lost Tomb", I think some ppl probably have some nostalgic feeling about it, but I'm sorry, to me it's fucking hilarious. Like I've already said it looks like some type of twilight parody thing or smth. Soft damselle Wu Xie esp killed me, bc 1st when he ever was that, 2nd in the first book he's salty af, I don't even know this dude in this interpretation, I was like who's this. YangYang I know him from other things, I really don't think it's his role. I know the script and everything is bad. I know the costume and hair are horrendously funny, but it's just I was watching him in those action scenes and was like no... just I'm sorry but I'm not feeling it. I simply just don't know what to say about the whole thing seriously, bc I don't even know where to start. 10 episodes of some salad finished with one mutilated scene from book 6 for no reason the fact that characters are weird themselves also I can't quite tell, did they really just meet or they imply smth else lmao.. I'm sorry, but I do not get it.

I've given LT2 another try after finishing all the books and I've dropped it half way through, Cheng Yi wasn't even close to how I pictured Xiaoge in any aspect. He in fact didn't do anything OOC or off the book or anything, I just was like "not my Qiling". Happens sometimes.

Explore with the note you already know how I feel about this lol let's just forget.

P.S. To be fair here also maybe we should take into account the fact that some got luckier than other with "at which point" Xiaoge they're playing. Like for example, "Wrath of the Sea" and "Qingling Tree" books which is LT2 is not exactly you can say much about Qiling there, he trolls them there in the beginning (in a brilliant way that was totally lost in the adaptation) and he is there in "Wrath of Sea", but it's not the part that can make his character shine in any way, there's not much things happening there that would make you fall for him or get to know him; Yuliang grabbed the fattest piece bc it's middle several books, when they're always together and his character shines the most in terms of clues about past, opening up to Wu Xie and Pangzi, and there are many many events where you can get the picture of what kind of man he is; Huang Junjie grabbed my fav piece of utter devotion, where he's already fully and wholeheartedly belongs to Wu Xie, that I'm just weak for. So like... there's also that I guess xD.

South Park Vaccination + Post Covid + Return of Covid Specials thoughts

- Yes, i watched all of them in one go. Yes, it's because of the adult designs.

Vaccination Special

- Finding out about American quarantine problems (and other problems) through South Park (and tumblr) is... not a good point of reference

- Everytime they said "shot" i could feel they are trying to reference something and my mind always went "Hamilton? Wait, no... Or yes?..." But it's definetly some musical reference, i feel it

- The way the boys were trying to keep their broship alive just for Kenny's sake, i- i can't that's just too adorable

- Styleman confirmed. Kenny is their kid. Oh no they are getting divorced-

- and "the shared custody" thing was also cute and hilarious. "We all want to hang out with Kenny and want Kenny to be happy, but we can't stand each other, so lets shedule"

- Cartman: *goes on a complete side rant in the middle of another plan* Kyle: *confused, why the hell they are doing this now* Stan: *completely goes along with it* Kyle: *tries to go along with it to get back to the main plan faster, but gives up*

- ...but i also can't help but think the boys (mostly Cartman) kinda infatilize Kenny? Like, i know it can be upsetting to see your friends's relationships fall apart, been there done that, but my boy doesn't have to be coddled about that

- Cartman is such a weird character, he will be saying the most heartfelt shit just to manipulate and fuck with ppl. So when he is like "we have to keep out friendship alive. for Kenny" i can't help but feel like it's not so much "for Kenny" as for Cartman himself...

- which, knowing that keeping the broship alive actually will fuck up his life...

- aaand, yeah, he didn't care about Kenny that much. I'm not even sure what this kid wants

- To be honest. Kyle and Stan could have said something about the ketchup (tbh i even thought they actually would do that but alas). Ofc Cartman and Kenny are the ones at fault for the whole thing, but Stan and Kyle did go along with that

- Kenny was as much at fault with the "period prank" as Cartman, but Kyle and Stan are mostly mad at Cartman. I guess it's because Cartman was the most insufferable about it

- Mrs Nelson quit her job. Good for her. ...Oh no.

- I like how all of the weird plotlines tangle and intervine nicely together :0 mostly in the first half tho

- Kommunity Kidz (tm) are pretty damn awesome :D

- it would be funnier if incide the pharmacy everything really looked like some VIP elite club but for old ppl and nurses😂

- so, after viewing the post covid specials, Cartman was actually right? All their broship needed was actually to go to theme parks, games and other fun events...

- are Qties, uh, y'now, a reference to the movie?.. the cuties movie?..

- Butters is just having fun running around with the flag 🥺

- wait, did.. did south park crew just called themselves childmurdering p*dophiles?... uhhh

Post Covid Specials

- Pandemic lasted 40 years??

- i wonder if this special going to predict some stuff

- To be honest, i love all the aged up designs, just, in contrast to all the anime boyz fanom it's just 🤌. And they all suit them

- I love Kenny's, Cartman's, Jimmy's designs the most tbh

- Butters is kinda ugly and i love it

- i like that nicer Cartman is still fat. No unfortunate correlations about fat=evil, skinny/fit=good. (Since SP did have something like that in a lot of the earlier episodes)

- gonna call future Cartman "nicer Cartman", bc he is objectively nicer than his 9yo self, but still kind of a dick

- the trend of "we are doing this only for Kenny" continues (and expands to literally everyone else)

- we the Jimmy's joke-subplot,, idk, i don't find the offensive-ish two liners all that hilarious, but the subversion-of-expectations-pc-jokes got old pretty fast ngl

- *looks at dead Kenny* divorce leads children to the worst places

- whats up with the geisha looking lady on every billboard??

- ever nicer Cartman still can't stand Kyle. Dude, you, like, bullied him. For being jewish. He has all the rights to not like you or trust you

- so, Stan burned integrity farms when he was nine, probably got into juvie for this and haven't seen the guys since then basically? I theorize

- It was kinda implied that Cartman didn't go along that much with the 2-2-3 week schedule? Be he still ended up being the one Kenny kept in touch the most?

- i like the idea of Kenny being this genius eccentric scientist

- and Butters being the unstopabble nft-selling force wrapped in the the package of an evil businessman

- anyway Kenny and Butters are a BroTP, i need to know more about their partnership

- Kenny did held this grudge for all 40 years huh

- i mean, their friendship falling apart didn't actually start covid

- kenny are you high or what

- so, Kenny is the scientist in both futures, so this wasn't influenced by the broship break up; Stan wouldn't burn down the Tegrity Farms if he still had his friends and he wouldn't spiral into "i hate everything, everything sucks", this i can understand; Kyle has kids, not really sure how this is influenced by his frienship with the guys working out, but lets say since as a kid he learned to be more patient with his friends, his adult romantic relationships got a better chance of working out?

- and Cartman. I'm not really sure how being away from the other 3 made him become better, but keeping his friendship with them actually made him worse? Plus, when he met Kyle and Stan again his toxic traits started to resurface.... Does this mean the broship is actually bad for Cartman? And not for, yn, the other three? Bc i have seen some takes that i don't really agree with. Also, it's implied that he became an okay person before meeting his wife, since she seems really surprised by Cartman's toxic behaviour. And he probably started becoming better after moving out of South Park (side note: he didn't crush in his house, but his mom is in SP's old ppl house, so i don't thing they moved when he was a kid/teen or something), since Kyle is really surprised by his change. And in the new future they did grew apart from Cartman after all and he is still a piece of shit... Man, i dunno.

- i like the idea of Cartman becoming nicer, but i don't think his friendship with the guys was the circumstanse that kept him from being nice or something

- really want to hear ppl's thoughts on how Cartman became nicer

- anyway, RIP nicer Cartman and his family

- i am really interested how things were going for this 40-ish years? How did Cartman became a normal person? How did Kyle's relationship with Kenny? Kenny's and Butters's science-bussiness shenanigans?

- ....might write some drabbles about that or something

- (might retcon some stuff for this tho)

- but, to be honest, as much as i enjoyed post covid specials, they were so all over the place

- but i get that the overall message is just "if you going to treat quarantine like it's the end of the world, it will be the end of the world" and i like that, it's an okay message minus the weed

What distinguishes Daytona Ent from other labels is that they do not want to present themselves as a group or a team, but rather focus on each artist’s individual talents and colors. There will be no group activities like concerts or Dingo Freestyle contents. The reason for this is that artists in labels that do have joint activities, the artists might feel pressured to have to act they like are closer than they actually are.

(In my opinion, that’s a good thing, because the artists can just focus on their music and pick their collaborating artists more freely. I think for Ambition Musik members, it is/was a bit of a struggle how most of them are introverts who only meet few very close friends regularly, but fans expect them to present a happy family, and The Quiett wanted to avoid that pressure for his artists this time.)

The latest update was that two artists who joined the military together will be signed, and it was rumored to be either Skinny Brown and TOIL or Skinny Brown and Jayci yucca, but now only Skinny Brown was revealed, so there might be another artist revealed soon! So far, it’s been about one artist every month, so it might not be too long...

Some of my personal guesses for possible new artists with reasons (I might be wrong but guessing is fun). (As we can see, Daytona artists are all already well-established underground artists who have been making music on their own and not super young (25yo and older), they are not kids who still need to be raised/guided a lot, and that’s the main characteristic I’ll be going with):

TOIL or Jayci yucca, because the article said so :D But for TOIL I thought it’s not so likely because 1) The Q doesn’t like signing producers lol and 2) TOIL has been loving the money, and he won’t have to share that if he stays independent IF IT ISN’T (plot twist) money he got from getting signed haha. For Jayci I’m not sure, he seemed fine releasing tons of albums and MVs independently, but maybe he wouldn’t oppose to signing either. I haven’t seen him working or being in contact with either of the CEOs though.

GI$T/GIST - he’s been around for a while, The Quiett LOVES him and always masters his albums (like he used to for Leella wink wink; GIST is also known as one of The Q’s sons). Gist is very talented at singwriting, singing and rapping (even though he seems to prefer not to rap anymore lately). He’s young but he’s got it all. He has worked with some of the other members before, too. And for a long time, he was rumored most likely to be the next artist to get signed to Ambition.

JAEHA - same actually with the singing and talent, haha. He’s only 17 but a melody genius and people are starting to realize it. He released 2 albums all by himself already and expressed in an interview that all the attention is already too much for him to handle. Now that he’s on HSR, that attention and pressure will even increase, so it would be nice to see him in a label where people take care of things like selling and shipping physical albums, contacting distributors, managing promotions etc, so he can focus on music and school. He might be too young or early in his career, though - it might be a bit weird to get signed (and therefore being on the same level so quickly) to the same label as Futuristic Swaver who is like his role model and mentor, so they might opt against him.

Ourealgoat - what can I say, he’s been working his butt off in 2020 and 2021. He only started rapping in 2018 while he was in the military, then learned producing because beats are expensive, and has been releasing album after album since late 2019. His unique rap style and thoughtful lyrics got him recognized by The Quiett and Yumdda as well as Groovyroom and Jay Park, in my imagination they are fighting over him :D I think he is a candidate for AREA too, but I’d prefer seeing him in Daytona. Even though he fits the “clean”, “good boy” vibe that h1ghr is giving off to me, I think in Daytona he will have more freedom (for example in staying close with his crew, keeping on working primarily with them if the wants that).

Kid Wine. He, too, has been around for a LONG time, is close with Wayside (who have members in both Ambition and Daytona - just look at his album features: they’re almost all wysd members or ppl VERY close to them like D-Hack and Yongyong - and also The Q himself). He’s also known to be one of The Quiett’s “sons” and he’s a producer, rapper, and singer, one of those multi-talented people. He produced Fadeaway, one of last year’s top hits.

ChaMane. Actually, I don’t know him well, I only discovered him quite recently. I found him on a list for The Q’s sons so that’s why he’s here :D He was on Raphouse on Air recently and has worked with Kid Wine and GIST, and The Q too but that’s a while ago.

- I don’t really know where to look for KHH rumors in Korean, and there is nothing in English, so maybe I’m overseeing some obvious candidates. These are just some of my faves who I happened to have been following closely enough to make these kind of connections :D If anyone wants to discuss, please do!

3x12 The Coming of Arthur pt 1

The title is such low hanging fruit I feel bad cracking a joke about it.

It's a quest episode! I love a quest episode. Srsly feel free to send me any and all Merthur quest fics. I can't get enough 😂

This is the episode responsible for the lovely Leon fanon headcanon that he's immortal. Always handy in an Arthur Returns fic.

I do love Merlin being being a smart alec and nagging Arthur while packing. Excellent banter.

Arthur said

Also I'm sorry but Merlin shows fuckin Gilli his magic but he's hiding it from fuckin Gwaine while Arthur is suffering? Silly.

Cenred's massive army makes me wonder if it's a result of his tolerance of magic or lower standards than the knights of Camelot, or some combination of both.

Poor Leon, though. He's just got back from near death in that forest and Uther sends him right fuckin back in 😂

Looks like they snuck in to Camelot via the dragon's cave. I doubt that was the intention but I still approve 😂

Knowing he's on a suicide mission, Arthur gives Merlin an out, knowing he'll never take it, knowing he doesn't even want him to: he still presents him with the choice.

How come literally everyone else gets a crown that fits them but Arthur walks around looking like he's wearing hand-me-downs?

Morgana might be evil but she looks damn good on a throne.

3x13 The Coming of Arthur pt 2

There's a post going around Twitter about ppl who nitpick at TV shows... this comment falls into exactly that category 100% but I'm sorry, I cannot just ignore the fact that Morgana's got these massive banners and an entire army's worth of uniforms, I mean look:

Every guard with the sigil on his uniform and half a dozen banners in the council chambers alone. That's to say nothing of the ones outside. I mean look at the sheer fuckin size of these things:

Look how tiny the ppl are next to em! They've gotta be at least 15 feet long, at least. Where did they come from? Were they all magicked into existence? Who designed that sigil? What does it represent? Is it Gorlois' banner? I HAVE QUESTIONS.

Leon isn't someone I've ever been particularly attracted to, personally, but his defiant shout of "Long Live the King" in the face of Morgana's threats, is sexy as hell.

Depressed Arthur is such a mood.

So. Gwen. Originally in 3x12 when Morgana essentially invited Gwen into the fold (insofar as a Queen's servant can be), it seems to be a set up, because Morgana has been treating Gwen like shit for ages, why would she suddenly want her friend back? Especially since Morgana knows something is going on between Gwen and Arthur - there's no way she believes that they were actually under the spell of some random sorcerer, that just doesn't make any sense. So you kind of assume - or at least I did - that Morgana is keeping Gwen close knowing that she'll be useful as bait or a hostage, just essentially as a person of value to Arthur. She's known Gwen for too long to actually believe she'd cross Arthur, there's just no way someone as machiavellian as Morgana doesn't see Gwen's 'loyalty' as a simple survival tactic. All of this is to say, when Morgana and Morgause eavesdrop on Gwen's conversation with Sir Leon, Morgana is just like, 'welp, she's betrayed me. Guess I'll kill her in the morning.' as though she was actually expecting Gwen to do anything else?!?! Like, why? It would've made so much more sense to just cut that line entirely and go straight to something like

Morgana: it's as we suspected, she's betrayed me

Morgause: yes, now she can lead us straight to Arthur

And it would've made so much more sense than the weird sort of purgatory they've implied where Morgana changed her mind about Gwen very suddenly the night before she took the throne. It's not a super important detail in the overarching story but it's another example of how carelessly their story has been handled.

Me rn:

I do love that they made Freya the Lady of the Lake, and that she kept her promise by telling Merlin how to defeat the army of the dead.

How Merlin really sees Kilgharrah:

Gwen really is the smartest of all of them.

I do love that Merlin's first undead kill with excalibur is entirely an accident lol

The subtext between Morgana and Morgause is really gross. I haven't said anything before because I generally don't approve of ship shaming but the not so subtle subtext gives me the heebies.

This is such a great shot

Everything about it, his woman at his left and his man at his right, his romantic rival opposite him on his wife's side, as directly opposite her as possible at a round table with an uneven number of placements. It's a really beautiful shot, fitting for an equally beautiful scene. It's a very moving scene, the music really adds the exact emotion you'd expect for this moment we all recognize... and I feel like the knights' oaths are very well matched. The snarky part of me wanted to make a 'call me maybe' joke about Percival, but he's so sincere I just can't do it. The moment of levity added by Merlin's banter with Arthur is really, really well paced. Honestly I think it's probably the next perfect, iconic scene since Gwen and Arthur's first kiss. Hats off to this crew.

(Don't worry dear reader, I'm sure I'll get back to complaining shortly)

Santiago is so dreamy. I'd share his bedroll any day.

I like that despite all the talk of equality and doing the thing Uther wouldn't approve of, Gwen still worries about the company seeing her and Arthur kiss. Like, he's planning an insurrection with a bunch of commoners and two dudes who've been officially banished from Camelot, but she's internalized the classism and the rules of royalty so deeply that even amongst friends she instinctively keeps their relationship hidden. I'm not sure how intentional that was but it's brilliant.

The fight big fight scene with Merlin just barely missing the cup while the knights are cornered, and Gaius showing up like the brilliant deus ex machina that he is, honestly makes the previous budget-slashed episodes more bearable. Because this really is great, even knowing it's great at the expense of those others.

Morgana's screeching is eerily similar to Aithusa's.

I wonder if they knew they were getting renewed for a fourth season when they wrote this. Because you know, it really could've worked as a series finale as well. An open-ended series finale, but a series finale all the same.

As a Queens kid, I cannot explain to you the joy it gives me to watch Arthur and Merlin just chillin on the steps to the castle as tho it were a stoop, which I suppose, in a sense... it kind of is. Ahhh youthful days.

Commentary is Jeremy Webb and Julian Murphy.

And this kids, is why we're watching with commentary! They've just explained that Morgana's sigil is supposed to symbolize the Rowan tree that's supposed to be at the heart of the Isle of the Blessed. That suggests she designed it herself, so there's at least one of my earlier questions answered.

They talk a lot about how Emila Fox was very pregnant when they were filming her in this season, and they shot entirely around it - and I can't help but feel anger toward Joss Whedon and his 'handling' of Charisma Carpenter's pregnancy during S4 of Angel.

One of them called the round table scene 'curiously moving' and I think that is really fitting. They'd had this in mind for about two years, which is probably why it's so extraordinary. That's a great gestation period for a scene as iconic as this.

One final tidbit: the sword in the stone was filmed in France, and made it back to Wales intact. I guess nobody wanted to take it out. That's kind of an interesting thought, like a little set superstition or something. It's kind of cute.

The DVD extras/special features will get a separate post if I feel I have comments worth sharing.

1.Deku!! Could relate to him to some level, and i loved the hard work he put in not losing his kindess on the way! A real role-model if u ask me

2. That’s gotta be Sanji! He’s so COOL! Always sticking by his principles even if it kills him (which happens more often than u’d think), not to mention he is a badass cook! I almost gave up on my plan on becoming a doctor to try becoming a chef, but then Chopper hit me like a truck.

3. THAT’S GOTTA BE YOH! My boy! I love him so much! All he wants is to have a chill life and hoo boy, can i relate to that. And just like him i got on the hardest path possible for that... we are not the brightest heheheheh!

1. Id say Kirishima! Dude is a simple jock on the outside but he’s acutally very uncertain of himself and that is relatable af! Comparing himself to those around him all the time and still trying to become as good as possible! Neve give up Kirishima! Im rooting for u bud!

2. Id say Robin... ever since she joined the crew i was suspicious and not exactly sure what her role there was. But after Enies Lobby she grew a lot on me and now i rly like her! Not to mention that her knowledge will be useful to get to Laftel, im sure of it.

3. Not gonna lie, im not usually a fan of villains. Usually am with the ppl on “cool story, still murder” vibe. But Hao is SO FUCKING PRECIOUS! I mean, he HAS to make up for all the shitstorm he made to get to where he is imo. But after readin Mappa Douji, u will have to think twice on his beliefs.

1. Tbh id say Kirishima! Upon closer inspection id say the boy has too much going on and still trying his darnest, cant be more relatable than that ehehhehe

2. Tbh ive felt too much like a monster in my lifetime not to relate to Chopper. Wanting to fit in when surrounded by ppl who dont give u even a small chance at being a friend is rough and by the time i got to Chopper’s arc in OP i was feeling like that in school. Everytime i watch those few episodes of Hiluluk flashback i have to hold out on crying a bit, part bc of feeling like u want to fit in and part bc their relationship reminds me a lot of me and my dad and hoo boy am i gonna cry now

I agree, however, that he is just a kid and should not be held accountable for this through his whole life, but to me, he still hasnt come to the conclusion that what he did was wrong. i dunno, i just want them to get along, but i need more development on this part reggarding bakugo

2. Luffy, of course. He is a great guy, dont get me wrong, but he NEEDS to learn to be a bit more careful. He almost dies with such a frequency that ANY insurance company would turn down ALL Gold Roger’s treasure if they had to take him in

3. Hao tbh. If he’d just go through the Shaman Fight like everybody else he would have won. Didnt need to fuck up half the character’s backstories just to do that.

holy shit yes I just watched Spiderman Homecoming the other day and watched a ton of fmvs on youtube and GIRL IS IN DA FEELS

jimin would be hawkeye bc hawkeye is fit af and he got them great bow and arrow skills and I mean have you seen jiminie’s archery skills like DAMN BOY WE got a Katniss hereeeeeeee also Clint barton is super chill and laid-back and has jimin vibes IN MY OPINION IDEk

jungkook and I know you all want him to be iron man BUT TRUST ME nobody else would make a better Spiderman than jungkook ok just pls trust me on this one. After seeing Spiderman homecoming I just couldn't shake the feeling off with jungkook being spidey cuz jungkook always wants to do his best to impress his elders and be the best he can and always is so giving to others and Spiderman is like that so yea!

namjoon would be doctor strange bc I mean they’re both wise af characters and I just think that they both are awkward and adorable and its just PERf

jimin would be Percy, as someone who is insecure about himself in the beginning and then grows into a strong leader that everyone admires but at times is still clumsy, loses and is humble I mean come on- that’s jimin guys. plus as I said jimin would def be son of Poseidon so...

hobie would be Leo in my opinion, for obvs reasons, he’s the jokester, the one nobody tends to take seriously but when in the zone and when Hobie knows what he's doing, just like Leo, he kicks ass and astounds everyone

rapmon as annabeth, even tho he's a boy she’s a girl IT DONT MATTER ITS FINE but as I was saying annabeth things logically, there’s always a tactic in her mind when she tries to deal with a problem, just like namjoon and the both of them are head-strong, confident ppl but at times need advice and a shoulder to lean on, which in this case is JIN AKA PIPER

jin would be piper, not only bc he gorgeous and he the son of Aphrodite and shiz but also bc piper is like the momma of the group and she has her charmspeak and gives gr8 advice to the rest of the crew when they need it and I feel like jin is just like that

yoongi would be Nico I mean duh, like as dark and depressing Nico is he also has a bright, brave and snarky side that we see all the time with yoongi and its the gr8est

jungkook and taehyung would be the Stoll twins! Both of em are like partners in crime in their mischievous endeavors and I feel like truly as much as ppl ship them I see them as the greatest of brothers and its heartwarming

Disney Princes AU

jungkook as aladdin bc I mean this boy is the cutest thing, especially around jasmine he's a shy loving fluff ball, just like our kookie would be 100% and just like kookie, aladdin is a lover but when needs to be a fighter to protect his loved ones he will be and jungkook has the biggest heart and biggest dreams just like aladdin does with becoming a prince and being able to live in the palace

OK and ALSO HE WOULD BE Hercules on the low (okay more like highkey) but yes yes you see its perfect I just can't explain it BUT IT IS

ok so don’t shoot me but jimin would be prince eric and its solely based of this picture/ outfit cuz DAYUm x but it doesn't end there both prince eric and jimin are so openminded and compassionate towards what they love its shows in what they do, like jimin and his dancing and eric and ariel

yoongi would be prince Adam aka the BeaSt bc its ob isn't it, they're both cold on the outside but super caring and warmhearted and all it takes is a lil love to bring it out. plus the both of them have been through so much, they truly deserve the world.

taehyung would be Flynn rider, even tho he isn't a prince technically, it works. they're both sarcastic and funny but deep-down their responsible and caring and know right from wrong. they both make mistakes but they fix it along the way, showing true growth.

Hobie would be prince naveen since they're both outgoing, love to danceeee and are always trying to have a great time no matter what but at the same time they both know to get where they wanna go they gotta work hard and they both do that tremendously

namjoon would Shang bc I mean come onnnn guys! He's got that leadership, tough and charming quality about him that just screams Shang like we’ve only seen the clumsy, funny side but we know that when he gets serious that man gets serious and thats why he’s the leader, just like General Shang

jin would be Prince Charming bc he is ofc charming but offhandedly stubborn when he needs to be just like Charming was when he searched the entire kingdom to find his precious cinderella

oh gosh we are the teasiest to each other. though we kinda got to an agreement theres certain things we dont tease each other about, like my back problems and insecurity about myself (which he wouldnt want to do anyways) and me w calling his works and stuff ‘dumbass’ or such (which i wouldnt want to do either). but everything else is fair game, sometimes my teasing devolves into “damnit why are you so pretty” and he counters to my flusteredness

oh gosh would i love to. i can see two situations- the two of us (maybe w the whole crew) on the mansions roof, im terrible at it but am having a ton of fun, baja blast sama probably helps everyone w the basics mom too oops but eventually everyone goes off in groups to let them both have some time together, eventually we decide to not try to figure it out and just enjoy watching the sky. the other option is between seasons i take him to griffith bc i need. and its nostalgic and kinda sad but at the end we look at the stars from it

i give it all to kanae for the rent they all have missed lol. but theres like 20 bucks (or 2,000 yen) left over so i buy everyone dinner or something? he gets to pick it out after a bit of grumbling

i feel like we might enjoy watching horror vore musicals together, like lsoh, sweeney todd, maybe rhps? if he ends up watching zombie flicks i pull myself together for his sake, maybe we compromise and watch anime gore and horror? get ready for a very cuddly and scared me. i feel like id bring cliche stuff from my childhood, like videos of dinosaurs and old disney stuff

probably instruments? music? tho usually i get it at least from him humming something, and vice versa. also hair conditioner probably, and hair brushes. one time my brovacado hides all the brushes as a prank (which i encourage him to do) its like the worst but afterwards the two of them are on better terms so ill sacrifice a messy hair day for that

i try my best tbh ;w; id say we both do a decent job. uncertainty leaves me an anxious crying mess and though he doesnt get it much (uncertainty is this boys lifeblood) he comforts me until the anxiety has subsided. sometimes he’ll have nightmares, the worst when remembering his past and i always wish i could do more but just hold him. though sometimes im a wimp and the reason im scared is bc we just saw like knk or something and i dont wanna get attacked by ghosts or somethin

if it exists in verse i play fgo and constantly show him moz there to tease him? but tbh i like both of em. “trust no one not even yourself” tho i call on him for help during hard rhythm games. he might not be the same dude but hes still got rhythm ayyyyy

probably him? i have a hard time saying it, esp in english. since its hamamatsu i can probably say it in japanese or something to that notion. he says it in german and i melt probably. it was a joke at first like that japanese aishiteru game but both of us got too flustered at it.

id say it depends, both of us are likely to do that. if someones picking on him or targeting him id jump in front, if the reverse he would.
