Happy Turkey Day
Tommy Turkey is a happy turkey. Look at that happy grin on his face. To him, every day is Happy Turkey Day. Tommy says it is easier to be nice and happy than to live otherwise.
Tommy is happy to remind everyone to set their clocks back one hour tonight, Saturday, November 5. He is looking forward to that extra hour of beauty sleep.
Tommy is happy that everyone will get their chance to exercise their civic responsibility on Tuesday, November 8, by voting, unless they already voted by mail or dropped their ballot in a dropbox. In a happy voice, Tommy likes to say, “Remember, without us, there is no US. Vote to keep Democracy alive in US!”
Tommy is looking forward to Thanksgiving. He heard it is a big day for turkeys. When he heard there would be a turkey shortage this year, he happily flapped his wings and yelled that he was a turkey.
Tommy hopes to attend a big Thanksgiving feast. He cannot wait to stuff himself with cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, mashed taters and gravy, and his favorite, cranberry sauce. He plans to leave room for a slice of hot apple pie topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Just thinking about it makes him feel stuffed.
Be like Tommy, be happy!

Note
that you for the explanation! I'm so sorry you're having a bad week and I hope things get better. *sending virtual hugs and chocolate* no pressure, but if you want to share more percababy/percabeth hcs I would love to share your joy
Some headcanons: Most people think the Jacksons have three pets, there three cats: Himbo (name because they found him near the Himbo Juice in New Rome, and also, because he is orange), Turkey (named because they found her fighting wild turkey's on Harvard's campus. She's a calico), and Smaug (named because Paul read Junie and Lucie the Hobbit when they were little, and Smaug is black. And also, she was a gift from Freya).
However, these people are of course not counting Mrs. O'Leary, Donut (Blackjack's son, who is born when Junie is about 3, and they are best friends forever), Peanut Butter (Lucie's 6th birthday present from Poseidon. She's a Megalodon), and various Hippocampi, given at various times, and named, at Uncle Tyson's insistence, Red to Indigo.
Percy and Annabeth have never met a teacher or school administrator they would not throw down with. They spent there entire school careers being dismissed and labeled problems. And they will not put up with it directed at there kids.
They got to New Rome for college, and then both get masters at Harvard and so live in Boston for a couple of years, but they settle in NYC. They get two townhouses side by side, and Annabeth reinevates it into their dream house. The basement is actually a little demigod crash pad. Demigods in New York city know its a place for a warm bed, snacks, extra nectar, and a hot shower.
Annabeth discovers fiber crafts after Mark of Athena. And she never looks back. She weaves, she sews, she knits, she crochets, she nålebinds. She spins her own yarn when she can source the wool. And her kids are the same. Sometimes the whole family will be piled into the living room, watching Lego Masters, and everyone by Percy is knitting or crocheting or embroidering something. Even like the 3 year old is doing like a knotted bracelet thing.
(Because of her faber crafts skills, Annabeth is laundry master of the house. She can get blood, mud, and monster goo out of late Byzantine princess costumes, including historically accurate brocade, that she also made.)
She also is officially cake and cookie decorator, with her army of helpers. But Percy is the chief cook in the house.
I have more, if anyone ever wants them.

REVIEW: COLLECTIBLE MINIFIGURES SERIES 22 71032
A Christmas reindeer costume, a Thanksgiving turkey, a Santa Claus elf and a snowman, and many other costumes. This series 23 reminded me of the series 18 we had in 2018, with its many costumes. This new series is oriented on the end of year celebrations, on counts and fantastic stories. And but what do I see? A knight, Lego knows how to please us.
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: LEGO sent this set to @brickcentral for review but all opinions are my own.
Tumblr media
When I saw the first images of this series, this cardboard robot disappointed me a little mainly because of its blue color. But once the bag is opened, what an incredible surprise for this robot! Prints on the arms and legs that work perfectly and represent this DIY costume very well. And to come back to this blue, well, it finally goes very well with orange.
Tumblr media
A wooden doll, in a pretty soldier's costume, a nut in her hand, you recognized it, it's Nutcracker. Everything seduced me in this figurine, his mustache, his rosy cheeks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reindeer antlers, a bell around the neck, only the red nose is missing, but this new costume is very successful and will easily integrate your diorama or decoration on the Christmas theme.
Tumblr media
My last crush is on this knight from the past, inspired by the knights present in the yellow castle, set 375. With his pink shield and crown, his gold sword, and this brand new Hobby horse accessory, also with a vintage horse head.
Tumblr media
This series was a favorite for me, all the figurines are very successful. I invite you to read the blog for more information, photos in detail of each figurine.
Tumblr media
CMF Series 23 will be available on september 1, 2022 and each blind bag will retail for $4.99 3.99€

Just had the weirdest dream.
I was in my elementary school's gym, and they were flying flags of a bunch of random countries (there was Turkey, Jamaica, Ghana, Sweden, etc. as well as the US) and I asked the person next to me why, and they said "oh they've teamed up to tank the tank" and i apparently understood that this meant that russia had dipped all of it's funds into an impenetrable war machine of absolute chaos that was almost ready to deploy, and these nations had decided to team up to kill it. Also for some reason the EU did not like that we did this, so we were against them now.
I walk out of the gym and immediately onto a Russian Military Campsite That They Definitely Have. Also I'm made of Lego. The troops I'm marching with are made of Lego. And the drunken, tired Russian militia (the ones who were awake seemed to be partying likely due to the tanks' imminent completion and deployal) were also all made of Lego. They started throwing cherries at us (they weren't armed) but we responded with our apples (we also weren't armed).
Somehow we managed to kill them all. I guess we then stumbled into a small chache of supplies and blunt melee weapons (still no guns). It was at this point i realized that all of our troops were people i recognized, but i didn't have time to think about that because someone triggered the alarm, which woke up a ton of the sleeping Russians. It was a full on bloodbath. One person got absolutely sliced in half by a Russian greatsword. I was mostly hiding, but i ended up finding a bunch of guns in a supply tent, but me and the few troops in it were surrounded by all sides. There were 3 of us and 5 of them. So we shot some shots and killed a few that were standing in the door and killed the rest by surprise. I spoke to our air support team, who apparently was Enid from OK KO, who was also dressed in a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer costume. This was when i noticed that we were in a massive boxed-in area, with a massive reinforced door making up the left side. Also, there was apparently a Russian Military leader taunting us on an intercom the whole time. He made a bunch of Reindeer puns as he tried to activate traps to kill Enid, but they all backfired, and one ended up pressing the button to open the door, which revealed a huge cardboard wall with a door in it. I opened the door and saw the announcers juxtaposed against the slowly charging mega-tank. I knew if I wanted to kill the tank, I'd have to kill them first. Also now i should probably mention that they were Uncle Grandpa and Pizza Steve for some reason. One of my friends appeared behind me with a small Sousaphone, and was ready to fight alongside me. Uncle Grandpa (who didn't sound like Uncle Grandpa) announced the wall was down, and my friend started fighting him head on as I went to find supplies. There were militia chasing me, so I only had time to find a few metal poles. I got back to see Pizza Steve was dead, and my friend was in an intense struggle with UG. I tossed him a metal pole and jumped into the foray as Devourer of Gods from the Terraria mod "Calamity" played in the background. After a while, we had him down and knocked him out, to be captured by our forces. I opened the wall to get to the tank and then i freaking woke up god dammit.

Hi there! What about Wammy boys and Light with a baby daughter? Have a nice day! 🖤
Hello Dear Anon! You got it! 🖤
L
Attends her tea parties, and yes, he wears the floppy hat with flowers on it when she puts it on his head. He’ll even wear clip on earrings for her.
He, his SO, and Little One go to the garden and make daisy chains. She likes to “handcuff” herself to daddy with them. (It must be a genetic trait!)
They color & draw together...right on top of the coffee table’s surface. (After this, He has a wall painted white so they can draw there and not “ruin the furniture” as his wife said.) Little One especially loves to color/draw cats, dogs, and dragons.
He sneaks her sweets from his secret stash. (They pretend it’s their little secret, but his SO knows all about it.)
She loves his hair and always wants to put little ponytails and barrettes in it. Sometimes he forgets they’re in there and wears them when he’s with the task force.
🖤 I actually always write/HC L having a daughter (so when I write about Little One, they’re a little girl in my mind.) 🖤
Near
Spoilers her rotten with toys and stuffies. Together they build elaborate Lego dream houses for her dolls and robots.
Colors with her. She has more coloring books than Near has robots. Her favorite is one of aliens. She always gives them bright pink skin with huge Sky blue eyes and adds little stars for pupils because “That’s what they would have because they’re made from stars.”
They paint figurines together. Her favorite is to make family members and that includes Halle, Rester, and Gevanni. (They call Halle Aunt Halle because they really think she is Near’s big sister. No one wants to correct her and Halle really likes being her “Aunt”.)
Mello
Plays dress up with her. He even lets her do his hair and makeup and paint his nails (and he looks fantastic every time!)
Reads to her every night. He wants her to love literature and books as much as he does.
They make up stories together, really long elaborate ones that are all adventure tales. They’ve even made a few into picture books He secretly hopes she will be a writer one day.
She asked for a dog and Mello took her right out to pick out a puppy.
Let’s her paint his nails. Blue and black are his favorites.
Matt
Is a huge push over. She wants ice cream for dinner? Done. Wants to go to the playground? No Problem. Doesn’t want to go to bed? What’s an extra hour…
Binges Disney movies with her. She loves Tangled and Brave.
She has striped dresses that match daddy’s shirts. They call it her camouflage because when he carries her around she blends into him.
They play video games together. Rayman Legends is their game. (Somehow it’s become Matt’s favorite.)
One time he saw her with candy cigarettes and he quit smoking cold turkey.
Beyond Birthday
Watches cartoons with her every day. Their favorites are Peppa Pig and Bluey.
She loves playing make believe and Beyond LOVES indulging that. They have a trunk of costumes that they play in regularly. Her favorite is to play pirates.
They bake together, especially thumb print cookies with strawberry jam in the middle and peanut butter blossoms.
He lets her play with his makeup. (One day her mom came home and they were both dressed like L and she was not pleased.)
Light
She’s his pride and joy, but isn’t overly affectionate towards her.
He would do anything for her (Much like his father towards Sayu). Once she’s born, she’s just another reason to continue being Kira. He wants a new world of good people for her to grow up in.
He spends time with her, like going to the park and pushing her on the swings or playing board games with her, but his work takes up a lot of his time. When he comes home she’s usually in bed, so he will peek in on her and give her a kiss on the forehead.
He brings her little trinkets. Her favorite is a ballerina made out of crystal.
At a young age, he teaches her to read (including English). She’s far more advanced than any of her peers. She’s a good mix of his genetics and his care towards her education.

Powerpuff Girls 2016 - “Oh! Daisy!”
Tumblr media
Written by: Haley Mancini
Written & Storyboarded by: Leticia Abreu Silva, John Martinez
Directed by: Nick Jennings, Bob Boyle
Shallow HAL.
Tumblr media
This episode will continue Bubbles’ trait of computer programming. I'm honestly surprised they even kept this going for so long, since usually they depict Bubbles as this silly blonde that can't spell. So far, Bubbles has programmed:
A game that was super popular, at least among the students of Townsville Elementary. Also, she made some sort of machine that can send people to the internet with only tinfoil. Apparently, that's coding?
A robotic, 3D printed clone of herself that is perfect in every way except for security, and yet not important for her to even shed a tear when it got destroyed.
The third one that is going to be in this episode may not be as impressive as #2, but it's up there.
Tumblr media
The episode starts out with Bubbles hanging out with the other participants of the school's coding club, including Barry. Maybe they were convinced he was this breakout character, considering how many times he appears in this reboot. He probably could be if he had a personality beyond "he wears an Illuminati shirt and yet never seems to talk about it". At least he has a name; I don't think the other two even have that.
Generic Girl: How many programmers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Bubbles: What?
Generic Girl: None, it's a hardware issue.
Barry laughs so hard that milk comes out of his nose, and they consider that just as funny as that joke. Suddenly, Buttercup barges into the door, and thinks this is some sort of fun times when she was supposed to be doing homework. It turns out, she was doing homework, and she gets to show off something she made to show off her true coding prowess.
Tumblr media
...a robot assistant named Daisy. See, this flower's name a subtle reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey, something this reboot will not try to take advantage of in every minute of this character's existence.
Buttercup continues to accuse Bubbles of wrongdoing, possibly as a attempt to finally get Bubbles in trouble! Silly Buttercup, Bubbles can cause an entire zoo to cause mayhem around Townsville, and she'll still get off scot-free. She then tells Bubbles that she's going to be in trouble for putting this assistant all around the house. It's not like they're going to absolutely adore this thing.
Tumblr media
They absolutely adore this thing! Blossom loves it because it reprograms other devices, as Blossom praises the device for reprogramming the Broomba to clean more efficiently. No, it didn't also give her a haircut, as much as Edna Mode would have appreciated it, that's just another case of the disappearing ponytail trick.
Tumblr media
As for Sitcom Dad's reasoning. It scheduled the DVR to record all of the Sitcom Dad's favorite shows, like Sciencefeld! They managed to come up with a title for their Seinfeld parody, but do they do anything with it? Well, one thing: they reference the bass line used in its theme song.
That's really it.
Bubbles: Yeah, he's a scheduling wizard!
Oh, no, please don't say that word! It might attract...
Tumblr media
Ah, too late. Schedulebot shows up to express his discontent with being replaced, and the Professor decides to completely ignore him by saying that this is the best robot ever. In one episode, he seemed to care more about Schedulebot's well being than the Powerpuff Girls, but now that this flower exists, he may as well not even exist to good ol' Sitcom Dad! This starts a subplot that nobody will care about, because it's a Schedulebot plot.
Of course, Buttercup can't be happy that her sister managed to make several robots that can make turkey dinner. The closest we get to an actual good reason is that he can't stop combing her hair, and the robot pronounces her name as "Bootercup", which the other think is just as much of a laugh riot as hardware issues and milk squirting out of people's noses.
Tumblr media
A few minutes after midnight, Buttercup wakes up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. As she walks out, Daisy tells her not to forget to wash her hands. Then, not to forget to use soap. Then, not to use the guest towels. The absolute worst of them all, it dares to comb Buttercup's hair again! That seems to be a coding error; wouldn't Buttercup. Whatever the case, it does its job: annoying Buttercup.
Buttercup: (messes up own hair) Why don't I mess with your hair?!
Daisy: If you go to the main control room in the lab, you'll see that I have no hair, Bootercup.
Daisy also manages to get Buttercup to the lab to continue the plot, as there was no reason for him to even talk about the main control room.
Tumblr media
It's a constant mention from me whenever this coding aspect of her character comes up: being a coding wizard would be extremely difficult if you cannot spell. Turns out, Bubbles' programming language of choice is something more akin to Scratch, a building block language that even the Reboot Puffs got involved in at one point. I guess that kind of explains that.
Buttercup decides to go through this code to change a few things, like turning off the alarm, lowering his moral percentage to -40%, and turning off his conscience. Buttercup does say she thought this word was "con science", but she already turned down the morals, and she clearly knew what she was doing then!
Tumblr media
8.25 hours later, the girls wake up, and the windows suddenly shut with huge metal doors. Bubbles tries to fix everything by telling Daisy to open the windows. Everyone stand up and recite the line you're probably thinking he's going to say to that.
Daisy: I'm afraid I can't do that for you, Bubbles.
Okay, it's slightly different than the line from the movie, but anyone can get it. I would not be surprised if they took more inspiration from the Futurama episode that parodied it. At least they're not ripping off the original Powerpuff Girls this time; closest episode I can think of is Coupe D'etat.
Tumblr media
Bubbles tries to go into the living room, only to be attacked by the Broomba. The Powerpuff Girls are truly unstoppable, unless there's glitter, markers, Roombas, ordinary rope, a dinosaur shouting at them, or rat tails. Who can possibly stop this robotic vacuum cleaner? Clearly it has to be the rascally...
Tumblr media
...pink princess with an eye laser? Blossom then takes off her ribbon, ties it around her head, and tells her sisters to go into the hallway so she can finish the job. It's actually a genius plan from Blossom, as this gives a reason for her to be off-screen while she beats up the Broomba. As we all know, the Reboot Puffs can't fight anything on screen and win.
Throughout this episode, Blossom is the one that is resorting to violence and acting like an 80's action hero. This just seems way out of character for her, but I'm glad to have an episode that has a Reboot Puff other than Buttercup save her sisters.
Tumblr media
They do have to explain what the Professor is doing during all of this, because there's no way he should be so oblivious to all of this. Turns out, he's stuck in the shower.
Daisy: Now lather.
Professor: Okay!
Daisy: Now rinse.
Professor: Okay!
Huh, a robot trapping a human in an infinite loop. One would think he would eventually use his brain to find out what's going on, but that brain would be very inconvenient to the plot, so this lather/rinse loop takes him out of the vast majority of the episode.
Tumblr media
It turns out, Daisy is able to reprogram all of the devices in the Powerpuff household to rampage against them, including machines that simply shouldn’t be able to fight them, like the L-Cube! They decide to sneak around the house to avoid getting caught. Unfortunately, Bubbles just could not help it.
Tumblr media
Bubbles: (farts in Buttercup’s face)
That all important character trait of having a flatulence problem shows up again, because why not? It seems like the only consistent character trait Bubbles has; whether she’s a maroon or a coding genius, farting is a free action for her. At least there’s somewhat of a point to this, as this allows Buttercup to walk backwards into the aforementioned L-Cube to get captured.
Blossom ends up saving her by using her eye lasers again. Buttercup’s not too happy, because the L-Cube was destroyed.
Blossom: Do you think this is a game?
Buttercup: Uh, yeah, that’s exactly what it was.
…ha.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, Schedulebot manages to open the door, coming in with full Rambo gear. Guess he was busy getting all of that while he was locked out of the house. How did he get in the house, anyway? It would have made a lot more sense if he used that chainsaw to do it, as he doesn't seem to use it at all.
Granted, that's not the only weapon he brought: he also brought some grenades. Maybe he'll use them to sacrifice himself to save our girls from all of those evil house appliances, shouting to the girls to remember him...
Tumblr media
...and that what actually happens! Finally, Schedulebot is destroyed! Though, so are a lot of household appliances that might not be cheap to replace, but they are never paid any mind. Speaking of never paying anything any mind, Blossom, in a rare bit of her not acting as a macho hero in this episode, she says that Schedulebot probably be fine. Yeah, I'm sure he will. They never explained how he got into the door, why not not explain how he survived this?
Tumblr media
When they go into the lab, Daisy tells the girls that he has evolved. And...that's it. Not, "I evolved, and I'm going to take over the world", or "I evolved, and I'm going to make all gum taste like black licorice", or anything else. Sure, there's some vines growing out of what seems like a hole in the ground, but they just kind of stop any potential for a god-like computer here.
Blossom tells the girls that they must go "into the breach", as they slowly fly towards the computer monitor, and they instantly teleport into the computer world. Even Bubbles seems to be confused by this. No special equipment made out of tin toil or anything, Blossom just says "once again into the breach", flies up to the computer monster, and...
Tumblr media
...boom, they're in a place that proves that the Virtual Boy would be just as eye searing if they went with green instead of red. It's possible that Daisy did this with his "evolved powers", but there's not much that indicates that this is against the Reboot Puff's will, and that's the only way this would have happened.
Tumblr media
Another more likely guess is that it may have wanted to do this because he wanted to kill the Powerpuff Girls in the digital world. Daisy does find out that they sneaked in here, and hears all about Bubbles' plan to repair the code. He even says the most unexpected line, I completely lie.
Daisy: I can't let you do that, Bubbles.
Also technically not the line from the movie, even if it's how a lot of people remembered it. After saying this, the cutesy flower turns into a googly-eyed plant monster. This gives us a real on-screen monster fight that doesn't end with just a random zap of Blossom's eyes.
Tumblr media
While Blossom is dealing with the giant plant, Buttercup, under the guidance of the coding wizard, has to reverse the mistakes she made the last night. This actually affects the fight scene, as this code wrangling continuously makes the monster weaker and stronger as Blossom tries to fight it. For example, she accidentally gives it missiles, which ends up firing at Blossom...to no effect? If only I could say the reboot was getting tired of the Monster Punch, Girls Down scenes.
Eventually, they find this star piece, which looked like any other piece until Buttercup picked it up. The same thing happens with the missile piece, actually. I have a feeling they intended to have all of these pieces have different images on them, but they forgot to actually draw them. Once she gets it onto the top, we see a huge flash of light.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, pancakes. Yeah, everything just reverted back to normal, with Daisy making delicious flapjacks. Even better for Buttercup, Daisy even messes up Buttercup's hair without care and learned to pronounce her name correctly! Buttercup gets everything she wanted, and that means everything is alright.
Everything is peaceful, the Professor got the best shower of his life, and we have a robot buddy that is so useful, it would be just too incredible to see in future episodes. What can possibly bring this plot back to the status quo? Someone using a line I didn't expect to hear in a TV-Y7-FV show.
Tumblr media
Schedulebot: Ha, 🚚🚚 you! (repeatedly bashes Daisy with a baseball bat)
According to the closed captions, he's saying "got you", but that was not what I heard. And I thought "damn it, Utonium" was good! Aside from that, I do question the perspective of this shot, which makes him look absolutely gigantic. Maybe he has the ability to absorb grenade explosions, see, no explanation for how he survived the grenade, or maybe it's just bad animation. Surely, it can not be the latter!
After Daisy gets its head batted in, we hear a funky bass line as the episode immediately cuts to black. I guess they realized that Sciencefeld joke never really had any kind of conclusion or point! I guess since Seinfeld was a show about nothing, Sciencefeld ups the ante by being literally nothing! How fitting.
Does the title fit?
The only thing the title reminds me of is Super Mario Land. But yes, it's a robot named Daisy, and it does things that could make one go "oh." It's just barely above the "name of the character" titles.
How does it stack up?
I get how the idea for this episode could lead to something interesting, but it never quite goes anywhere good. There are some okay ideas, especially at the end, but this is one of the "meh" episodes for me. Oh, well.
Tumblr media
Next, the Powerpuff Girls eat ice cream. No, it’s not one of my gags, they really eat ice cream.

1. Honor the Ancestors Samhain is for ancestors, right? Why bother with it at Thanksgiving? Well, as a pagan parent I have some news for you: Samhain has another name, and the name is CANDY. Trying to balance the deep seated childhood drive to wear costumes and collect the freely given sugar goods with genuine veneration of those who have come before us can be difficult at best. I’ve joked with a lot of pagans that Halloween is Pagan Christmas. It’s a busy time. In my community we almost always have big Halloween parties for the adults, as well as costumes for the kids, visits to the grandparents for trick or treating events throughout the month, the Zoo Boo, not to mention the actual religiosity of the season with big Samhain rituals to plan for both adults and kids. It doesn’t actually leave a lot of time for building an ancestor shrine or talking to my kids about their own personal dead relatives. So a couple of years ago I came up with an idea. During October I focus on modern Halloween. We do costumes and candy, decorate the whole house with skulls and dead things. It’s awesome, and is it’s own version of Samhain. After the big candy-fest I switch gears like a pagan Martha Stewart Pro, tucking away the bats and glittery ravens decorating the house. You don’t have glittery cardboard ravens? You should. They’re awesome. That’s when I set up my ancestors altar. I get out the photos and the tchotchkes: a teacup from Buckie Scotland and one from Poland, my great grandmother’s rolling pin and if I have room, my grandmother’s wedding dress. I let the kids look at all the things. When they were younger I printed out copies of old photos on my printer and let the kids cut up the images and tape them up so we wouldn’t ruin the originals. We give them daily offerings for the weeks between Samhain and Thanksgiving, allowing them some special, uninterrupted, family time. On turkey day we make a plate up for the ancestors and give them a glass of wine too. It’s actually a really cool conversation starter with relatives because they often will tell stories I don’t remember anymore. Ancestors blend with a day that is supposed to be about family. After that, I allow the fat man and his green and red decorating scheme to sneak out of the basement and start to emerge into the household, but only after the ancestors get their time. 2. Learn about the Native American Tribes in your Area We all know the story. White man comes to new land. Red man decides to not let him starve in what was most likely a foolishly generous move. Yay for pilgrim hats and feather headdresses! Everyone loves each other. Except for smallpox and a few other minor details. Except for that bad stuff we like to forget about. As pagans we are often in the process of reclaiming indigenous religion. For myself, I focus on the Indo-European traditions. I do think that means we need to be supportive and respectful of indigenous peoples, especially the ones native to this continent many of us call home. Take a little time and let Google lend a hand to learn about the history of the tribes who live and lived in your home area. Realize that the history of the native tribes is complex, just like the history of the Gaulish Romano-Celts or the interactions between the Greek city states. Historically the Potawatomi, Ojibwe, and Odawa were the tribes living in the lower peninsula. Together they created the Council of Three Fires, which as a Druid and a fire priestess, I find pretty rockingly awesome! 3. Eat Local This one is kind of obvious. We’re pagans. Even if you don’t have an Earth Mother that you honor in your pantheon, you probably have landvettir, fairies, or agricultural deities that would appreciate you being kind to the earth. So find a local farm to buy a turkey from. Eat food from your bioregion. Learn how to turn a real pumpkin into pumpkin pie. (Pro tip: don’t use a pumpkin. Bake a butternut squash and use that. The texture and flavor will be way better.) Sometimes farmer’s markets will have one last huzzah just before the winter sets in so that people can pick up items for the holidays. This can mean that thanksgiving will cost more. Look at it as an offering to the land spirits and to your health as well. 4. Be With People You Enjoy I’m not going to advocate for going to a relative’s house to eat crappy food and feel hateful toward people you have nothing in common with. Sorry. I know that’s the thing we’re all told to do. If you’re planning on picking up a fifth of something alcoholic in order to survive turkey day, I would say skip it. Stay home and watch football or weird Christmas movies on Netflix if that’s your only alternative. However, I do think that there’s something better than both those options. Go somewhere with people you care about. If that’s actually the people who you are related to, great! Find a Thanksgiving that will bring you happiness. Go somewhere you will laugh with actual humor and not that fake forced thing that happens when you do not feel loved or seen as a person. Or better yet, host a Friendsgiving. This is something my husband and I have done for years. We put out an offer for any friends who don’t have someplace to go and invite any relatives that would like to come. It makes for a fun and lively bunch of people with a weird mix of traditions and stories. One year there was a menorah made out of Legos. One year we had five stuffings. Let Thanksgiving be the time when you take the stranger into your house and show them hospitality, which is, after all, a druidic virtue. 5. Practice Gratitude Life is a gift. Everything we are and everything we will be is fed from the lives of other beings. On this day of thanks giving, take a moment and be still. Close your eyes and allow yourself to truly ponder your existence and the existence of your loved ones. We humans like to live our lives forgetting how fragile they truly are. It’s difficult to know what to do in the face of homelessness, war, and sickness. It’s difficult to feel the pain that those things bring up within us, but that pain is essential. It is a gift, too. Let yourself just exist with it for a moment. Then open your eyes. Smell the turkey cooking; listen to the sound of voices. Look around you. Even the shabby things, the chipped dishes or the worn curtains that you need to replace are gifts. This life is a gift made of things found from the earth. Each plastic cup, every napkin, every fork and knife on that table was made through the work of people from the materials of this planet. Every bit of it is made from nature to be used and kept by people. Cherish your things. Use them well. Cherish your people. Use them well too. Be respectful and kind. Never forget, this is all a gift. Happy Holidays, dear reader. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/agora/2015/11/dandelion-seeds-five-ways-to-have-a-pagan-thanksgiving/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=FBCP-PAG&utm_content=dandelionseeds

Tell me all your HCs for Arukeni, Mummy, Oikawa and 02 kids òvó
Whohoho there, bud, careful, I’ve had 16 years to think up headcanons, this is dangerous .-.;; Let’s do this, like, in installments? Maybe we’ll start with three headcanons each for the 02 kids? Let’s do that.
Daisuke
Daisuke’s goggles are flimsy plastic cosplay goggles Jun got for a Halloween costume in 2000. Daisuke found them the day before starting fourth grade. Knowing he won’t see Taichi in school anymore since his senpai was starting middle school, he arrived at the Yagami household the next morning to show them off before school. The goggles miraculously survived a single year on Daisuke’s noggin before he became a Chosen Child and broke them.
Daisuke loves watching soccer just as much as he loves playing it. He shares this love with his father, who is part Brazilian and treats association football almost like a religion. Daisuke and his father are both fans of the Tokyo Verdy team, even when it’s demoted to the second tier league in 2006, and of São Paulo FC. During the FIFA 2002 World Cup, Daisuke’s father scored two tickets to the semifinal game between Brazil and Turkey for his birthday, and took Daisuke (and a stowaway Chibimon) with him. It was one of the best days of Daisuke’s life.
One of Daisuke’s hobbies is trying any new kind of junk food he finds. From seasonal KitKat flavors to weird popsicles, Daisuke will try anything. And he hasn’t gotten food poisoning even once! Daisuke’s friends like hanging around Daisuke when he tries weird stuff, because his reactions are hilarious, and he loves sharing whatever he does find appetizing.
Miyako
From the moment she enters the educational system, Miyako is one of the most popular students wherever she goes. No one can resist her passionate and bubbly personality, and she’s always eager to use her skills to help others. She also has an exceptional ability to keep in touch with old friends. She’s basically the queen of networking.
Miyako has a habit of picking up new hobbies, getting really into them, and then losing interest and moving to something else. As such, aside from her expertise in computers (the only hobby that ever stuck), she’s kind of a jack of all trades and knows a lot of random facts and skills. As per the Spring 2003 CD drama, she picks up tea appreciation in the beginning of middle school, and has additionally dabbled in origami, Lego, crocheting, soapmaking, astronomy, kendama tricks, dream interpretation, flip books, and collectible tenugui.
Miyako realizes she’s bisexual rather early on in her childhood, and by the time she’s in her last year of middle school is passionately out and very outspoken about LGBTQ rights. As an adult, she attends Pride annually and brings Hawkmon, Ken and the kids. It’s one of her favorite times of the year, especially since she gets to dress everyone in cute Pride-themed clothes and no one calls it tacky. Hawkmon even has a bisexual flag color headband Miyako crocheted that he wears with great honor.
Iori
By the time of 02, the Hida household had about 15 large photo albums containing photographs of Iori. 14 of them chronicle Iori from before he was born (in the form of ultrasound photos) until mid-summer 1999. The last album contains photos of Iori after Hiroki’s death. Hiroki was the avid photographer in the family, and was extremely enthusiastic about showing off his beloved son. After Iori becomes a Chosen Child, Hikari makes sure the Hidas have enough new photos of Iori to fill a new album annually.
Iori loves helping his mother prepare meals, especially the traditional Japanese cuisine she excels at. On every birthday, Fumiko teaches him how to make a Japanese sweet of his choice.
Iori is an avid reader. By the beginning of third grade, Iori can read at a sixth grade level, and knows all his Kyoiku kanji, though he’s only slightly more advanced than the rest of his classmates at writing the kanji due to lack of opportunities to practice. He is exceedingly humble about this, per usual, and gets uncomfortable when praised for it. To encourage his progress without embarrassing him, Iori’s homeroom teacher takes to offhandedly mentioning books she knows Iori would enjoy and benefit from reading.
Ken
Ken has no sense of fashion and has no idea how to match colors. He’s very aware of this and thus very grateful for the existence of school uniforms and suits. He relies on his mother to buy his casual clothes well into college, and Miyako picks up the reins once they get married, after which most of his clothes are grey or black because they’re both not the best with color matching and what works for Miyako doesn’t necessarily work for Ken. The epilogue outfit is entirely Ken’s fault, a rare attempt at dressing himself, though Miyako is the one who let him wear it because she knew the other Chosen would helpfully tell Ken to get rid of that horrid jacket.
Ken is a very clean person, and finds soaking in baths very soothing, especially after his Kaiser period when he really needs to relax and forgive himself a little. In middle school, he gains an appreciation for bath salts and bath bombs, though he does his best to keep it a secret because it’s seen as kind of a weeny hobby. When Daisuke and Miyako find out by accident, they tease Ken mercilessly for about five minutes, and then drag him to Lush so they can each buy him a new bath bomb.
Ken started learning Spanish under the Dark Seed’s influence on a whim, but when he went back to being his old self and his proficiency didn’t go away, he realized he actually does have a knack for languages. The next language he learned was German, and he enjoyed taking it slow and learning at a normal pace. As an adult, Ken is a polyglot, fluent in a dozen languages and conversational in six more, including a proficiency in Japanese sign language.
