Procreate is one of those drawing applications where I’ll have been using it for 6 years and then watch a video called like “Top 10 things you didn’t know you could do in procreate!” with the expectation that it’ll just talk about like creating a color palette out of a photo or something else I’m already aware of only for the person to detach the color wheel and drag it around the screen while drawing
[ID: Screen recording demonstrating the example above. The person recording detaches the procreate color menu, drags it around the screen, and then uses it to quickly switch between colors before closing it. End ID]
I finally (got help) slapping Wordpress into shape and Runaway to the Stars is now releasing as a public webcomic! Thank you so much for your support over the years, and sticking with me while I'm slowly chewing my way through this book. I'm very excited to share this story! It'll be updating every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday thanks to the massive Patreon backlog. Patreon will continue to update as I finish pages, which happens on a sporadic non-schedule.
If you experience bugs with the site report them to me. Some things may occasionally break, as coding problems tend to be a very "whack-a-mole" affair; and I'm still getting used to the interface.
I have for you an ocean of conceptual work, more commentary about them below the ‘keep reading’
Some of these have just so much text in them so you’ll have to click on em to read it all
The first two are color studies for my illustration final, I’m modeling my room rn in Rhino 3D. The sketch is my end goal for what should be in it. Here’s a model I made of my folding table
The comic was for the same illustration class, it was a “turning point” assignment so three illustrations that told a story with the second one being the aforementioned “turning point”. I did mine on a memory I had of seeing a massive spider on the wall while at my aunt and cousins’ house. This comic was actually drawn traditionally at one point before I went back and changed it based on critique. I didn’t have the energy to hand draw it again so my final submission was digital
More pattern work on image #4, I’ve added more to this since then. I started it as a way to shake of my creative block. Just throw shapes down without any care. It’s all done on one layer with one color palette
the next four are all conceptual art/designs I’ve been getting on paper. The word poetry and the designs of characters in my work. I’m changing the designs for most of Mother Yalga’s 13 kids bc they’re too whimsical and they’re supposed to be made from scraps and garbage per my detailed (blatant lie) lore document
Next image was the mindmapping I did for my final illustration class project, the envelope in the mailbox is a smash letter 😔
I had a vision for the creature in the next image, and I have to say… it could still use more wings and arms
