(Lana's POV)
Oh how I love Harvestfest! All of Parker's immediate and a lot of his extended family get together and it's one massive party all weekend. This was my first one after being officially married in the family, and it's been a weekend of thankfulness, fellowship, and family.
The last few weeks have been a flurry of activity as Casandra and the girls have been arranging the logistics of arranging the house for everyone to be there. Since the weather forecast said it would be pleasant but cool weather, we planned to serve the food on the dining table inside but eat outside on tables that we rented. Since there's so many children, we set up two rooms for naps and diaper changes. The sisters and I have been talking about buying a changing table to attach to the bathroom downstairs as well as the spare bedroom upstairs, since there's always going to be many diaper wearing littles around.
Kyleigh, Stacie, Mandy, Lorilee, and I got a picture as the "Mrs. Collins" club. The girls joked about it with me when I visited last year, and this year we were able to do it. There's only 5 boys in the family, so I was the final girl to join the club. We had the idea to do it at the wedding as well, but since Mandy only flies in at the end of the year, we now have a complete picture. The next event is a sip and see that we're doing for Bethany and Adalynn; since she and Mason don't find out the gender for their babies, when we found out that Bethany wasn't a boy as we all expected we all rallied together to celebrate their new baby girl. Since there are two events back to back, we're all pitching in to help with the hosting responsibilities.

good salt of the earth people. teen marriage runs deep in this family, they were married right after their high school graduation. not yet pregnant, just sure of themselves. they were in love and when you're in love, you make this big crazy commitment in front of everyone who knew you when you were a baby at church and then you get a little house way out of town and have gorgeous girl boy twins. that's all you really can do.
their dad, jody (woody harrelson fc), has a hard way of loving. he's the kind of dad that kyleigh and colton could never really know beyond the context of him as their dad. like he wasn't trying to be friends with either of them. he loved them a lot but he didn't show it in that way, he's like more on the wavelength of. always really good about making kyleigh got her oil changed. helped colton build a new bookshelf before he moved out. i think kyleigh maybe got a little more sweetness out of him just because. well look at her that's a baby girl. but he and colton, regardless of the love between them, just had a very straightforward relationship. they talk about work, they talk about basketball, and they talk about kyleigh's kids (and eventually his. he was pretty relieved by that.)
their mom, tanya (kyra sedgwick fc) is THEE busy body church lady to end all busy body church ladies. she's a school teacher AND a sunday school teacher, and she's so nosey its insane. she's very much a part of small town politics. to that extent, she's also always up in her kid's business. i think she makes up for their dad's hands off approach. she can be a little blunt in the way she approaches things, she doesn't see the point in beating around the bush. i think she was also soooo tickled that kyleigh got teen pregnant by **** ***. like sorryyy but like that's the exact kind of family a mother like this is salivating to be apart of.
i think they're very take it as it comes people if that makes sense. like when kyleigh got pregnant, that was just a fact. i think their dad probably pulled some macho bullshit on w*de just because he felt like that was his job. scare the kid straight. and there was a brief panic of what will people think... until again she remembered it was actually a win socially. but ultimately that just became the fact of the situation. if she was going to do that, she was going to do that, so they let her go and be an adult. same with colton and school: they didn't get why he wanted to do all of that, but if that was what he wanted to do, that was his prerogative. enjoy the debt and the liberal arts master.
i think they lived in the house the twins grew up in forever. i think their dad hated visiting them in st louis, they certainly preferred hosting. their mom the kind of grandmother that's always posting memes about how a grandmothers love is the strongest force in the world but misspells the kids names in the post. their dad the kind of grandpa who just wants to sit on the couch and watch the most random war movie you've ever heard of at the family function. weirdly feel the need to call out their mom was obsessed with skye (like everyone else) and they both more than once commented on how tyson was "exhausting." like their mom would always be passing on advice on how to deal with a hyper child as if it worked. kyleigh is right there.

Dark and Angsty Sentence Starters
Bourbon and warm water hadn't ever felt so good. A steamy shower that soothed sore muscles, shampoo and soap that cleansed the body and nourished curly hair, Edwin's generousness that extended beyond a hot meal in a safe place. The CDC wasn't home, not by any stretch of the imagination, but Shane and all in the group knew that it was better than what was outside. What had been deep in those woods back where their camp used to lay - the gravesite to so many of their friends and family. Amy and Jim left amongst the fallout, Ed just as alone as he deserved to be, a meaningless heap of tissue, so many wonderful people buried in a makeshift cemetery. Fort Benning a distant dream, votes not cast in Shane's favor nor opinion, he would've rather had the CDC than another day of that hell that he had been living. Protected were those walls and the sole man within them. Powered by food and electricity, hole torn sleeping bags replaced by actual beds, pillows and blankets and more pillows, but more than happiness had the CDC encouraged.
Kyleigh and Shane had gotten into an argument. A disagreement that had started small, was no more important than any one thing that had been talked about at the dinner table, over the group's first real feast in days. Facts on the matter forgotten about just as soon as the whole ordeal was over, still was Shane hot about it minutes thereafter. Comment that passed over Jenner's lips as smoothly as his wine was sipped by them; a suggestion to Kyleigh that affected the one time deputy more than expected. An indication to something dark, the chance to end it all, if such a choice presented itself, a hint of secret that colored the doctor's voice too easily for Shane's liking. It was a strange remark to have been made. Unwanted, reason to make leave for Fort Benning all the more sweeter, almost urgent, after a quick retort passed over the stunned silence of dinner, he left from his seat at the table. Feet loud in their stomps away, heard from down the other hall.
Into the bath had Shane gone. Hoped to literally wipe his sorrows down the drain, rather instead took to the company of Jim Bean and drank until anger doubled. Bubbled and splattered all over the surface of his patience, clothes were hardly dressed into properly before he stormed into Kyleigh's room. Black khakis and a black belt with a silver buckle, blue button-down completely unbuttoned, hair still a little wet and dripping at its ends. And that was just how the conversation began. A door slam echoing in every corner of the CDC Georgia branch.
"Don't start that shit!"
Shane said, emotions unleashed in ways that they hadn't been before. Never in such a display for Kyleigh. "Don't you dare look at me and tell me that what you heard that doctor say was any sort of normal. No way! And don't you ever, ever tell me what I do and don't care about. I care about the folks in this damn place! I've risked my life to get them safe here!"
"God. You're such a..." Shane trailed, the glisten of tears shining in brown eyes.
"Yeah, alright. I didn't care about you. I didn't care about you the first time I laid eyes on you. I didn't care about you all the days thereafter when Rick said you were stayin' with us. Hell, I didn't even care about you when everybody else did and I was the odd man out. But let me tell you somethin', Ky. That changed. All those feelings, they're long gone now. You say that I pretend? You think that I don't care? Just stop it!"
Shane whispered, in a voice far more broken than it had ever sounded, chipped and cracked and desperate, "truth is, I care about you so much that it physically hurts. I love you... I'm in love with you, Kyleigh Marie Thompson."

It was hard to hide the immediate heat rushing to his cheeks with her admission. Jealous? Over him? He didn't really know what to say. Never in a million years would Daryl have thought he'd evoke such emotions from another. Let alone someone as out of his league as Kyleigh.
"Ya ain't got nothin' ta worry 'bout," he started awkwardly, nervous he would somehow screw everything up by talking. "She, uh, she plays for tha other team," he explained further. "I was tryin' to hook her up with Syd," he added with a small chuckle, anxiously scratching at his head.

You’re hypocrites, you, Come along pond, Oc fairy godmother. You only care about this problem now because it affects you but when it’s not your friends you’re all silent. You’re defending and supporting Decennia, Reyskestis, the popular blogs. But not Casverse or Lokitrasho when they were attacked. How is that fair?
i cannot speak on behalf of kass, only on mine and poppy’s (because we’re talking rn) but no, i don’t believe we’re hypocrites.
on poppy’s case, she has this to say:
With Cat, i don’t know enough about the situation to feel I can step in. And she wants her name to stop being thrown around. And with Cas, I was unsure what was happening and Dina [the person who cas was accused of stealing from, i believe] seemed to have it covered. I stand by the fact you have to know someone to defend them. I don’t really know them
i wasn’t aware of cas’ or cat’s harassment because i was in a terrible place when they both took place, so i was in a hiatus. i wasn’t talking to anybody here, i wasn’t going through my dash or my friends’ blogs, i also wasn’t opening the app because i didn’t feel like it, so i had no idea that these things were happening to them up until it was long finished. so sadly, no, i couldn’t defend them. i’m not super close with both of them, but they’re my moots and i love and support them. once i found out about cat’s situation + moving blogs, i expressed my love and support for them via dms. i only recently found out about cas, and i’ve been meaning to send her a message but i wanted to include an edit for her as well, but i haven’t finished it yet so i also haven’t reached out.
i don’t defend and support dina and kyleigh or anyone else like them because they’re “popular” or even just because they’re my friends; i defend and support them because they’ve been hurt and betrayed and lied to and stolen from by their own friend. i don’t stand for any of that shit. i feel terrible that i didn’t get to defend and show my support to cas and cat, truly. if you guys are reading this, i’m so sorry and i hope that you know i’m still here for you both.
but i was not silent, i just wasn’t here.
let me ask you this; how is it fair for YOU to assume that i (or anybody else here) will always be aware of what’s happening? that we’ll always be here when something is going on? we all have lives outside of our blogs, and in life, shit happens. and when shit happens, sometimes you just wanna log off from socialising entirely. for me, it’s not a case of them being “unpopular blogs” but rather the instances that i was in when their harassment happened.

I... i cannot believe what you and helen have done! youve like destroyed san myshuno! wtf talk about subverted expectations. I have so many questions! Did Bob die, did Apex die. Who survives the blast? Who does not?! Please please please please tell me Cat is still alive!!?!?!?!?!??!?!? Helen said she is, but I must ask you I must know! Not Cat too! I literally cannot compute what just happened.
I know right?! I can hardly believe it myself. I couldn't imagine facing down a station crashing into a major metropolis like that... it's just not something I think anyone would be equipped to handle and the scary part is, that something like that could happen in the real!
It was a big station with a big explosion and lots of radiation... I don't expect anyone in San Myshuno survived that... We do know that Bob didn't get to Guy in time though, so he must have been on the station when it hit... Do you think they (Apex and Bob) could survive that?
Cat is indeed alive. She was in a bunker with Kyleigh in the Springs... that much is true! She has more story to tell in the aftermath.

"Yeah, well..." Rayne trailed off as she followed the other into the graveyard. She knew there was no talking Kyleigh out of exploring, but there was a bad feeling Ray had trekking through the cemetery at night. It was supposed to be a sacred ground, but through the ages, it seemed more people than not loved to traverse the grounds.
