Bad news my brain has decided that my favorite characters are not in fact any of the likeable protagonists but rather the godawful team of arsonists, mad scientists, and murderguys

Do you like fanfics? Are you familiar with either Jegulus from the Marauders era or Kam from Kotlc? What about original works? If so, this is for you!

I am looking for beta readers for my two fics, Doubts and Darkness, and Swan Song on AO3 by MaresMadness, and my original work The Dragon Rider (Title will likely change) on AO3 and Wattpad. My wattpad handle is also MaresMadness The uploading schedule is that a new chapter of Doubts and Darkness is uploaded once a week, and Swan Song at least once a month.

Swan Song is a band AU where Sophie convinces Tam to teach Keefe to play guitar. There is one chapter up as of August.

Doubts and Darkness is about Regulus and James getting closer as the date of when Regulus will be forced to take the Dark Mark also grows closer. Please read the tags for this one because it could be potentially triggering for some.

The Dragon Rider is about a boy named Kenna who found a dragon egg as a child and raised it to adulthood, then ran away, killing the princess of the empire in the process. He meets the last of the dragon riders, a small group of students, and an elderly teacher whose methods Kenna doesn't approve of. The first chapter is in progress, and the goal is to write 300 words a day, save for weekends.

No previous beta reading is required, but having knowledge of the fandoms for the fics is important. So is being able to catch grammatical errors and spelling mistakes, and for the original work, plot holes and that sort of thing.

i was literally just thinking about fitz shredding on electric guitar-

honestly i doubt i'd ever write this either, but. there is potential! sophie should get to be a drummer. as a treat. and keefe can be a theatric singer who loves singing in a different voice for different songs (referencing his mimicking in canon if this is a human au, straight up being mimicking if this is canon-compliant) and then only ever use his real voice, like. once. for a particularly emotional song.

honestly the more i think about it the more i'm like damn, this could be a good story, and get more ideas but the last thing i need is another wip, so. not gonna go down that road. but i'd love to hear other people's thoughts on that (or elaborate more if requested tbh)

that's a really cool idea, and would make for a really fun au!!!

i feel like it would be a really risky position for Keefe to be in, which means if anyone in the lost cities catches wind of where he is, which adds tension, and boom, we got plot.

if tam joins the whole operation gets riskier because that's two ex neverseen in one place.

and they want their own place, their own chance to be people, to have their own lives and their own reality and their own existence.

but they're in danger in every moment that they're in the spotlight

What are your thoughts of the Linh Tam Tiergan Wylie family?

Thank you, that's kind of you :). The solreef family is one of my favorite groups/dynamics in the series, though we don't really get to see it (which does mean some of what I enjoy is outside of canon).

There's something so comforting about a group of people thrown together through circumstance, who have nowhere else to go so end up with each other. Who' understand each other in a way other characters don't, even if they're not close. Who's past experiences create a unique level of understanding between them

Tiergan doesn't have nowhere else to go like the others, but the opening his home? The providing a safe, constant space for those who don't have that? Choosing to care makes me feral !!

Linh and Tam as people stigmatized and thrown out who've always had to fend for themselves suddenly discovering people in their corner? People who give shelter, stability, care with no strings attached? People who know what it is to be stared at, a spectacle, infamous?

Wylie as someone with his entire world torn from under his feet building a close-knit group around him again? Slowly letting others in and letting himself trust and enjoy it without being terrified to lose it again? Serving as living proof that you can survive, that you can get through it, a lighthouse in the storm.

They're such an eclectic group of people thrown together by such unique circumstances, and yet despite that there is so much understanding and recognition of the self through the other with them. And that kind of bond has so much appeal and potential, such intensity and depth

Marella's entire life has been filled with fake sympathy, and I think it's something that's built her entire character. Having Caprise's accident, people giving her their pity, it made Marella the blunt person she is. She doesn't waste time with pleasantries because that's all they are. A waste.

Honestly this entire song is Marella's arc to me, so if you want to look up the lyrics you could find your interpretation of it as well.

I have to give you this deeply emotional song about a character that really strips down their personality to their deepest fears and judgements, and then give you one that's light-hearted and goofy!

Idk it's just pure Marella energy to me! You could interpret it as how Marella and Sophie met then fell out, or if you're into Marelliana exes story line here you go! This and Style give me such Marella vibes and they're just care free songs that remind me of her.

Bonus: Growing up, I truly thought this song was about two women getting together. Eight y/o me was like oh yeah this lady's singin bout this girl who she wants to be her King mhm. I think that gives Marella Vibes too to be fair.

But I think it also represents how she was never truly able to be a child. She did have some level of responsability in taking care of her mother, and I think that made her feel as though she needed to take care of herself.

Along with the fact that she's gossiping about everyone but herself! Marella keeps herself locked up tight and instead focuses on the people and the world around her.

Idk! I think this song represents her really well!!

Neverseen band au but it’s a high school band. The main band teacher is nearly always absent for some reason or another leaving Fintan, Vespera, and Gisela to be the constantly rotating substitutes. They all have widely different takes on how the songs should be played leaving the rest of the band to learn three different versions of the same song.
