public libraries are so sick. there are five books I want to read and they're all relatively new so they're only available in hardback which is so expensive but it just cost me $0 to place holds on them. five books for zero dollars. it requires nothing but clicking a button and then going to the library to pick them up when they're ready. zero dollars. that's crazy

Just read Harrow the Ninth. I was rooting for someone to stab God so I could use your "in God we thrust" post to make a joke about it (thrust as in sword thrust. we are killing God), but it turned out that there was, in fact, the other kind of thrusting in God.

I must admit I've only read the series through once, so my memory and analysis is lacking, but it really does create so much intrigue. what was John's mental state/relationship with his Lyctors that this was a believable plan to conceive of?
like yes, they needed his genetic material, but they expected he'd be willing to fuck both of them. and were right. why? was this an established thing prior to falling out with everyone and everything? was it out of the blue and god was like this might as well happen? was it the getting drunk?

I feel I should specify when I talk about the vast majority of Israelis supporting this genocide it's not to call for violence of them or even to demonise them. It's to call attention to Israel having a genocidal education system which dehumanises Palestinians from the moment Israelis start school. Ilan Pappé did a study in 1994 of the Israeli education system and raised the alarm that it would raise a generation who are even worse than those who first colonised Palestine in 1948. We're seeing the truth of that now.
I raise this point because we're seeing this attempt by politicians and the media to claim that it's just Netanyahu who is to blame for this genocide and not a systematic problem that requires boycotting, divestments and sanctions to push them to correct. This lie is being pushed because they do not want to change the status quo which allows for Israel to steal Palestinian land and homes and keep Palestinians under military occupation.
