Two weeks ago I made crock pot stew and decided what the heck, I’ll take the celery bottom I chopped off and try the Free Celery Hack. I put it in a small shallow bowl on the kitchen windowsill and change the water every day when I’m waiting for the water in the kettle to boil. After a few days the bits in the middle started to grow, and this week they became undeniably taller than the rest of the cut celery surface. And today?!
Free Celery Hack has not only branches on one stem, but has ACTUAL TINY LEAVES
In the Northern Hemisphere, gardeners may be battling the ravages of winter frost and struggling to keep tender plants alive. Why are some plants able to live outdoors year-round in climates with cold winters while others perish once temperatures fall below freezing? The key is in the plant cells! Watch and find out why plant cells' structure and chemical composition determine whether plants are cold hardy or tender.

The kitchen garden is coming along. I’m doing San Marzano tomatoes this year. Doubt they’ll taste like the ones from Naples, but alas, no volcano. I have to amend the soil quite a bit still.
We’re sprouting / chitting our maincrop potatoes before planting, just to give them a bit of a head start. This year we’re trying egg boxes and are really happy with how things are going so far. It’s really easy, just arrange your seed potatoes in the egg boxes and make sure the eyes face upwards. Then leave them in a cool light place, that’s frost free (10 degrees ish), and wait for the sprouts to appear.
You’ll want to do this about 4 to 6 weeks before planting. I’m so impatient, I can’t wait to get them in the ground. It’s so nice to be thinking about the garden again … I love spring. 😃
