After several years in the same studio, I transitioned to a new space in the fall, and it was an exciting and scary experience simultaneously. It wasn't as smoothe as I expected, and I was faced with doubts around my choices. This is the first piece created in the new space, sprouting from that uncertainty and changing conditions, offering an opportunity to use a different clay, to repair using kinstuji and to not take for granted my sculpting community. Etho Session 3 Liveblog:
slkdfjklsdjfsl 18 seconds in and I'm already losing it.
Etho: "I'm here with Cleo! :) Cleo's looking at the sky... because Cleo likes the sky. So blue, so pretty. She might've got hit by a car and now her neck is broken."
Etho bemoaning the lack of water, then turning around like "Oh, here it is. I'll just make an infinite source block."
Etho following Bdubs around and dunking water on him.
Bdubs: "??? Why are you trying to wash me??"
This is especially funny in the context of Bdubs in Session 2 accidentally relapsing into the roleplay of being Cleo and Etho's kid before Cleo reminded him that was a different series slkdjf.
sldkfj Bdubs peering out the window at the needy boys like "Oh, that's sweet, they've got BigB... I really wanted them to find another."
?? Etho is my 3rd POV. I've seen Tango and Grian so far and this is my first close-up on Impulse. What's that man doing with his skin? Did he kintsuji his face?
slkdjf Etho getting three hearts from the Heart Foundation. His first two decisions are to run to Cleo and tell them they need to bring their enchanting table over to share, then to give Cleo his heart.
Smart move by Etho to approach Pearl and offer to help her when his job is to attempt sabotage.
Me watching Martyn accuse Pearl, having already seen Tango's POV and knowing they did a lot of backpedaling and back and forth and checking the footage to see if Martyn had already used his one accusation of the session, and knowing the result was that they do let Martyn fail Tango: "Uh-oh."
Me watching Jimmy do something similar with Mumbo because I'm pretty sure he also made an attempt to call Tango out: "Uh-oh."
All fun and games in the end, though. Gotta be human and make mistakes; keeps you humble.
Oh now I'm putting together the pieces, Etho's going to confess his love to Joel in the end in an attempt to make people believe he has the same task as Scott... Although he did re-roll his "make someone believe you have the same" task, so hmm...
[Watching a few more minutes] - Gotcha, Grian cut the part out of his video where he told Etho to go say "I love you" to someone.
slksjdf so let me get this straight, Etho was given the job of saying "I love you" to someone with the attempt to make them say it back, knowing full well that Scott successfully got Cleo to say "I love you" back to him, and Etho STILL chooses to pursue Joel and say "I love you" to him instead of Cleo, his basing partner this season. Incredible. No notes. Long live the Boat Boy goofballs.
?? Again Jimmy accuses Etho of a task, so maybe Yellows are just allowed to guess until they get it right? In which case both Martyn and Jimmy are in the clear. I may have misunderstood the rules; will have to watch more POVs to be sure.
Etho's so good at throwing people off his trail with false tasks. He spends the session dumping water buckets on people and building walls to separate people for no reason.
Mumbo calls him "washed up" and Etho immediately dumps the water bucket on himself slkdjf. GG.

KIntsuji Sans es un nene silencioso, casi no habla con nadie... Y sus poderes son el rayo azul... El cual al usar su magia todas las uniones de oro se tornan azul Eléctrico. Es sumamente amable. Pero si su cuerpo recibe daño. Simplemente lo repara dejando una grieta de oro más en sus huesos de Porcelana Pura.

El KIntsuji es una tecnica japonesa dónde se reparan objetos. Cómo jarrones, platos, tazas o esculturas. Utilizando Oro para unir las Piezas.
No tratan de esconder las Grietas, más bien las realzan para que se vea el proceso que a sufrido. Que Si bien el Objeto sufrió mucho daño... Al repararlo quedó una Hermosa Obra de arte.
Estos días no me eh sentido bien. Y por una u otra cosa me esfuerzo mucho. Pero ya no soy tan fuerte. Menos en estas fechas. Que para mí son más depresivas que felices...
Quise hacer este nene pensando en todas las veces que me eh representado con una Muñeca de porcelana rota y astillada.
Dibujar este proceso mientras lloraba me relajo mucho. Puedo decir que tenía miedo mancharlo y arruinarlo...

When Lana did that interview & she was holding & playing with one of her cats and she says something to the tone of “I had to learn to be eclectic so do you clover” I think about that and often find solace that Lana also had to do somethings she was forced to live a life of less opulence as well. All though bitter she’s come to enjoy the cracks cuz you know; let the light in & kintsuji. Which I myself learned about in rehab.

Meet my Juuni Taisen OC! I'm helping out the FF user Colton989 on a Juuni Taisen fic idea which will be about the 13th Juuni Taisen. It's mostly character ideas we're putting together at the moment, and while Colton's come up with most of them so far(so their backstories/abilities/appearances/etc), Kintsuji is the one I came up with-I sort of had a random idea for a Juuni Taisen OC's ability and backstory floating around in my head, then I was asked to collab for this, so I lent my idea to the fic and was able to properly make this OC. Not sure when the fic will actually start yet, but I hope you will like Kintsuji when that does happen :)

My favorite mug broke a while ago & I kept the pieces in a little paper bag. Finally did something artsy with it since it’s definitely not usable as a mug anymore. Like an exaggerated kintsuji. It’s just super glued back together & then the “gold” is hot glue & paint because I don’t have the materials or skill for real kintsuji pfdfgdb

Kintsuji
"Woah what's that?"
Mammon poked his head next to your, eyes fixing on the image on you D.D.D's screen. He had made it a habit of making himself way too comfortable in your room, which wasn't that much of an annoyance, to your surprise. His body strewed over your couch, head on one hand while his legs mindlessly dangled over the armrest as he watched whatever the hell was on your TV. You were on the floor, back leaning against the couch, making your screen a tit bit too easy for Mammon to see. And he did, drawing his attention to the photo of a funky looking plate.
"Kintsuji, also known as Kintsukuroi, is a Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum." You read the information on the screen aloud for him. "As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
"Japanese... like the Night Lantern peeps?"
"Yeah, I think they are the same people to be honest, you guys just have a different name for them."
"Oh." Mammon mused. He diverted his gaze from your phone, the conversation got dropped after a short dialogue, brought back the comfortable silence between you two.
You went back to scrolling mindlessly on your D.D.D, simply enjoying his company. Your time with him ranged from reckless trips to casinos, night rides in his car with music blasting, to movie nights, and quality time where you did your respective things, like what you were doing now.
"I think I will upgrade from Words can't hurt me these shades are Gucci to Kintsuji." Mammon broke the silent with a laugh. Every now and then, he picked up a new word or catchphrase to brand himself, and would not shut up about it for the time. Most of which included gold, money or some luxurious brands, fitting his materialistic nature of being the avatar of literal Greed.
"While I understand that you are greedy by nature, your obsession with gold and stuff is getting lowkey annoying." You huffed, your words barely contained any malice.
"But it's so cool doncha think? To be broken like that, but then patched up using gold! Ya should aspire to be like that! It's like, being adorned, ya know, in gold!!"
"I don't know how but you are missing the point." You (gently) smacked the shit eating grin off his face, to which Mammon laughed lightheartedly. "It's not about the gold, it's about the appreciation for history and experience-"
You sighed and dropped mid-sentence since Mammon no longer seemed to pay you any mind. Everytime you started to get a bit too invested and political about something trivial he just jokingly deliberately ignored you. Not that it really offended you, it was just the way he was.
But in retrospect, something bitter and sad just slipped somewhere inbetween his words. Now that you thought about it, Mammon and his unhealthy coping mechanism of indulging in his own sin wasn't that different from using gold to piece the ceramic together. Being an ancient entity he was, in his family with questionable love languages, he definitely had had his lower lows. And yet, he was pretty intact.
Well, seemed to be.
Kintsuji honored the history. But there was no denial that Kintsuji pieces had been broken at some points. And if they shattered too many times, no lacquer nor silver nor gold could put them back together in one piece. There is always a breaking point, a limit to everything, and crossing the line will always result in a change, for better or worse.
You stole a glance at Mammon, wondering how close he was to his point behind that carefree facade.

That’s one of the topics discussed quite often around here, my blog included.
I have some ideas, but idk that I have any headcanon for it, at this point.
Some theories I’ve mentioned before:
He’s got the Thorns of Death, and the scars are from being attacked by cinematic records.
When he tried to destroy the reaper organization HQ, back around 1819 or so, he was attacked by the other reapers... or possibly by their superiors (who I think are not reapers, more like angels)... with weapons that can cause permanent damage like this. More specifically, I’m thinking about whips, and I’m reminded that’s what Ash/Angela uses in s1. I also note that John Brown has a whip in manga canon.
Reapers can see the “red string of fate”, and he literally tried to remove it from himself. The Red String of Fate isn’t easy to rid yourself of. It might just bind tighter; it might dig in and cut....
Again, those are just some different theories I’ve discussed, and other bloggers might have more theories or ideas. Please check the tags below for more on this. Some tags might be more helpful than others. The kintsuji tag is all about finding the beauty in the damaged, and I often mention it when talking about Undertaker’s scarring.

and some really cool tape so we can piece the drawing back together. I know it won’t look at clean or perfect like it was before, but with the tape in between the tears, it’s like a paper form of kintsuji.

I’ve been really getting into Persona 5 as I grow close to the end of my first playthrough, so I’ve decided to take part in the Awakening Challenge.
The challenge is as such!
Perform a monologue as if you were portraying both yourself, and your Persona, as you awaken to your true self for the first time. Your monologue can be eloquent, enigmatic, aggressive, expressive, and can even have traits such as cockiness, or arrogance. As long as you feel it pertains to your true self, and the Persona in-turn.

CODENAME - VEGA
Named after the brightest star in the Lyra constellation, Vega’s Phantom Thief attire is a black suit with an open jacket to reveal a red shirt and thin black tie. He wears red converses to tastefully contrast his dark outfit and has his shoulder length, honey-coloured hair tied back in a short ponytail.
His mask is black silk with a red trim, with points in the top and bottom corners resembling four of five points on a star. The left eye has a thin, gold line over it from the top to the bottom of the mask, a work of Kintsuji, the art of repairing with gold.
His close range weapon is a handheld pile bunker and he wields with swift, harsh blows, and uses a silenced pistol as his firearm.
PERSONA - SARDONYX (ARCANA - STAR)
A strong inspiration of the fusion of the same name from Steven Universe and in turn an inspiration to Vega’s showman-esque quirks in the field. While the character in SU is female presenting and addressed with such pronouns, Vega’s persona has a more genderfluid presentation (Side note: Plus, there was nothing in the rules saying that my character’s persona had to be the same gender.)
The stone Sardonyx is said to be associated with courage, confidence and happiness, as well as providing strength and protection. As such, Sardonyx’s move list is full of hard-hitting physical attacks.
Sardonyx: Hm-hmm...You have NO idea how long I've been waiting for this.
Drifter: *Heartbeat SFX and sharp grunt from sudden pain*
Sardonyx: It's clear that you have a lot of potential. Loyalty, observance, improvisation, and of course, an unimpeachable motivation to help those close to you. Everything you
could ever need to feel the self worth to go on.
Drifter: *Grunts, heavy breathing and occassional cries of pain*
Sardonyx: But alas, you are lacking. What is a resolve to create change without the power to make it a reality? The confidence to make your mark in the world has been lost for
so long, sacrificed in the name of humility.
Drifter: *Desperate gasps and longer cries of pain*
Sardonyx: But you are not beyond redemption. This is your time to put things right, is it not?
Drifter:...You're right...this is my chance...
Sardonyx: I am thou, thou art I. Shall we form both our contract and your newly found confidence?
Drifter: *Heavy breathing*...Be my strength...Sardonyx...
Sardonyx: So long as you become the star you were born to be. Now then, I think it's about time you made your grand entrance, is it not?
Drifter: *Mask forms on face*...Better late than never...*Pulls mask off and screams in pure agony*
Drifter: *Panting* Oh, that is SO, MUCH, BETTER! You've made a lot of big mistakes, but underestimating me and hurting my friends will be one of your last. You might think
you're powerful here, you think you're entitled to everything you see fit...*Summons pile bunker* But it's about time I made those petty delusions of yours VANISH! *Pile bunks nearest shadow w/ sound effect* What's the matter? What happened to all that bravado you had just now? Oh, I know what's up, you lost all your confidence the moment anyone with the slightest bit of sense showed you how things REALLY are. Well, I guess you FINALLY know how it feels!
