King and Lionheart

Named for the Of Monsters And Men song, this trope is about one person who is in some kind of position of power or centrality (not necessarily a king, but could be) and a person who stands by them either in the form of a protector, trusted advisor, or friend. A key component of this trope is the power difference in the eyes of the world (where one has social status and the other does not), but where that power difference does not exist away from the world owing to the love/trust they have in each other. It's a trope defined by loyalty, trust, and love that exists in spite of the class/status divide between them (no TVTropes page submitted)

Business partners married for tax benefits, a gay man and a lesbian marrying to hide their queer identity from relatives, two people in an arranged marriage who don’t end up falling in love but do become besties, friends getting married so one of them can move to the country, two people in a political marriage who despise eachother and keep carrying out increasingly elaborate murder plots on eachother and have to keep up the loving act around others… You can even take it in a “pretend relationship” direction and have it start as platonic and turn to romance, but I think it’s funner to subvert romance and have friends/enemies married

I was talking about an AU where my insert met Varian as Lo'gosh back when Onyxia split him into two people. And then the concept of "Yeah, this is Varian's kid, but SPECIFICALLY Lo'gosh's" popped into my mind and then this kid pretty much made herself.

"Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men keeps popping up in my lists and it's not like I don't like the song, but it's the ONLY Of Monsters and Men song it will pull up on its own and it won't even pull up their other stuff when I look under where it shows me stuff related to that song. I like Of Monsters and Men, and I like that song, but c'mon.
