So... because @arwamachine 's fic Full Mount is so inspiring (no, honestly, go read it if you haven't!!), I made this little thing.

(And I had to watch a lot of pics of MMA fighters wearing pretty much nothing. I settled for Conor McGregor's upper body from like 2013, Conor McGregor's (much more muscular) legs from more recent days and Martin's head from the BAFTAs this year. 😇)

"Why I Love Like James Potter" by jamesunderwater 1/27/24

So, I think an important context for my feelings about James Potter is that (as you know) I am a fandom elder. Which means, I already had an extreme attachment to James Potter and his pals before we ever even got the Snape’s Worst Memory chapter. I just looked it up, and somehow I was only ten when OotP came out, so evidently I was massively in love with Sirius Black and obsessed with the Marauders before I hit double digits. (Jesus, no wonder they’re molded with my identity.) The point being – before he was anything else to me, James Potter was the man who bravely sacrificed himself for his family, whose core feature was defined by Sirius’s declaration that they “would have died rather than betray their friends.” He was the guy who figured out how to become an animagus just to be a supportive friend, and based on the few lines that the Marauders have through the Map in PoA, he was hilarious. And really, the fandom kinda just took that and ran with it. So by the time OotP came out and we got so much more information on him – and his dynamic with Lily (cue me sighing dreamily here) – James Potter was already a venerated figure in my mind. -- OMG I just had a buried memory pop up of the Harry Potter Trading Cards as well, which, I don’t think I had one / there was one for James, but there was one for Lily, where she was holding toadspawn?? Or something? and I was in love with her just based on her cute face and red hair and bright eyes, so obviously I’m gonna also be infatuated with the guy who got to marry her.

Okay I got a bit off the point.

I guess reflecting on it, the way I fell in love with James as a character was very different than how I did for Sirius, and it’s in part due to Sirius being alive in the books, but also speaks to who James is, too. I fell in love with Sirius for who Sirius is, all by himself. I fell in love with James for who he is with other people. I loved the guy who would do anything for his friends. I loved the guy who had this magnetic dynamic with the fiery redhead. I loved the guy who was brilliant and loved by all, and didn’t think twice about sacrificing himself for his family. And I think that this has, for the most part, remained the core of why I love him.

But of course, I’ve grown up a lot since then, and so have my feelings and opinions.

– intermission to say I looked back at the ask and realized it only asks about why I like the character, which…somehow changes some of my answer, but we’re gonna try to roll them together –

Okay, so why I both like and love James as a character now has a lot more to do with the nuances of him. I love that he isn’t perfect. He’s multi-dimensional, and I think his character is a great opportunity to investigate growing up. I think that progression is harder to see in some of the other characters (I have thoughts on why but they aren’t the point right now), but James is just this splendid example of how someone can be so fundamentally good, and also be a fucking kid. He’s messy and that doesn’t make him any less of a “hero” or a “good guy,” but not in your traditional anti-hero or villain arc kind of way. I dunno, maybe it’s in part because I relate to this feeling of not always being a “good person” growing up. I could be arrogant, and mean, and over-dramatic, and stubborn, but people still saw me as a good, likable person, and eventually I did grow out of a lot of the harsher aspects of those characteristics. I love that James gives permission for that, to inspect the dualities within people.

And on a basic level, I think he was kind of the picture of everything I wanted to have and be. His physical looks / physique is what I’ve been drawn to in men, and eventually realized it’s what I wanted to look like myself; he has this found family that he’s built that is truly a family, this best friend who accepts him fully and he accepts fully and they’re attached at the hip; he becomes a person deserving of and complementary to a strong, independent, kind woman; and his kid is Harry Potter, who truly is one of my favorite characters of all time. So.

I dunno, I feel like this isn’t as eloquent as I wanted it to be… I’d be very curious to hear other people’s thoughts added onto this (yours and others’!) because I know there’s so much more that I’m missing that other people would say.

I got to nearly 850 words, though, so hopefully this essay is sufficient enough to earn me a B, at least.

Hello again, it has been a while but for what it is worth I have been working on some models. Specifically trying to translate main characters Wednesday & Enid of the Netflix Wednesday series into my own 3D Style!

I would also like to thank @Ryz_Eizy on Twitter for creating the concept art for me that I used to model their stylized facial structures!

All in all, quite pleased with the results, I am hoping to rig some of these and maybe make some meme videos at some point but who can say. These images are also protected via Nightshade, poetic, no?

The designs include:

Their respective Nevemore uniforms, Enid chirt, vest & tie combo can also be applied to other character models qwhich is convneient.

There is also what I felt was good casual wear for the two, heavily based on the show itself & some insightful advice from @sirazaroff.

Then there are their Fencing uniforms, but for a fencing contest as the normal one's look dull. I have gold & grey variants for the captain & unranked members respectively. Enid is ranked & Wednesday is rich hence her uniform.

& finally, the pair in work out gear, though not sure if Wednesday would actually show off her belly like that, I was curious to see if her more subtle abs would be obvious while I went for jacked Lycan Enid cos I am allowed to spoil myself sometimes. :3

Oh Rire’s suit (or at least his vest) is made with a special material from the Nether that can deal with this kind of stuff quite well. Also unattached ichor completely disappears after a period of time, which makes for many questions in a murder investigation and generally un-ruined clothing.

He knows English, Latin, a number of the Romance languages (some more conversationally than others), and at least two Demon dialects from the Nether \o/

Rire’s interest is peaked more by people who fight back and resist him because that keeps things interesting - the less easily one is broken, the more fun there is to be had. He likes challenges and games. At the same time, he also likes at least some submissiveness.

The Royal acquires it after winning a Battle Royale. Also there are technically 2 ways one can “immigrate” - one is quite fast and the other takes many years.

Sometimes, after a stressful, too long day, you just need to grab your man and get away from the noise of the city - at least for a little bit.

What if TFP Autobot Starscream kept Miko, Raf and Jack inside his jet form, to prevent them all from sneaking into the groundbridge?... What if the 3 learn that Starscream has SUPER ticklish buttons and begin to press them all rapidly?... What if the Autobots came back to see a loudly cackling Starscream, on the floor + begging for help? LOL XD

The Autobots were off on a new mission, and they needed enough of them to go. They all trusted Starscream enough to watch over the base as well as the children. The Seeker was by no means satisfied, much preferring to go on a mission, rather than doing the sparkling-sitter.

He wanted to go flying and going on a mission was the opportunity to do it! But apparently his envy wasn't a good enough justification for the Autobots.

“I'm not a Guardian! Why is it up to me to take care of them?! the jet asked indignantly. They are old enough to take care of themselves!

- Consider it a mission, Screamer. Bulkhead teased.

- What a mission!

- This will allow us to see if we are right to place our trust in you, Starscream. Optimus interjected.

- Y- Your trust…?!

- Yes.

- … But, what if…”

The flyer cut himself off in his speech, not wanting to show his doubts to the others… But, now, he was really afraid of failing… What would happen to him if one of the children got hurt?! Or worse?! So far, Prime hadn't shown any signs of violence towards him, but that could very well change...

Ratchet opened a ground bridge, and tasked Starscream with closing it. The group of Autobots passed through the portal, leaving the Seeker alone with the children. The jet sighed in annoyance, and headed for the machine to close it, when he heard small footsteps heading towards the still-open ground bridge.

The flyer raised his wings in surprise, as Miko was already walking through the portal, followed by the other two. Starscream froze for a moment, as surprise prevented him from moving. He recovered quickly and exclaimed:

“But... but… EH!!"

He caught up with the kids just in time, causing them to scream in shock as he grabbed them all at once. Miko was the one who struggled the most, slapping the Seeker's hand to free herself.

“Let me go! I want to see fights!" exclaimed the Japanese girl.

The jet raised the optics to the sky, not understanding the interest that this kid could have for the fights. It was just crude, worthless stuff, no intelligence behind it except useless brute force.

"There no way I am letting you go! None of you for that matter! You are under my supervision, and I will not tolerate the slightest deviation!

- You're lame! Miko replied, sulking.

- Think what you want, I don't care!"

The Japanese girl crossed her arms, while Starscream put them back on their resting platform. The Seeker decided to work on the new sources of energon, and ordered:

"You don't move from here! If I see any of you leave this platform, I'll lock you up!

- This is abuse! the young girl said indignantly.

- As if you really know what it is!"

The jet went to the base computer, and began working to better triangulate the energon he had detected in the caves, and its exact amount. He heard small footsteps moving again, and when he looked at what the children were doing, he saw that only Raf was left on the platform.

"Primus! For real?!" the flyer got angry, before going again in pursuit of Miko and Jack.

Starscream caught them, but this time he had more difficulty with the Japanese girl, who kept dodging. The Seeker didn't dare go too hard because he was afraid of hurting her, and the young girl was well aware of that. The jet finally managed to get her, and exclaimed:

"Again for Miko, I'm not surprised! But you, Jack!

- I was just trying to stop her! explained the teenager.

- You're only adding work to me!

- But-

- No buts! I promise it! You wil have it! I lock you up!"

The Seeker took one of Ratchet's beakers, and put the three children in it. He didn't want to risk Raf deciding on the same whim as his elders. Of course, that doesn't suit to Miko, who started to get angry at the container, but the jet really didn't care. Let her get angry if she wants, that's not what will get her out early.

Starscream lifted his wings when he heard a high-pitched sound of breaking glass behind him, and he barely had time to turn around for the children to rush towards the ground bridge control machine. Scrap! They knew how to use it?! Why did the Autobots teach them that if they really care about kids not coming with them!

The Seeker went after the human Sparklings again, and he practically had to fight Miko, who kept hitting his fingers with an iron bar she had picked up on the ground. Primus! Did the Autobot who take care of them usually go through this every day, or was it just with him?!

The jet finally managed to get all three of them, even the most stubborn, and walked back to the computer where he was working. The problem was that he couldn't continue his research under these conditions! He just have to turn his back for five seconds for the children to attempt their lives!

Locking them up didn't work either, and he still couldn't spend his day staring at them! The best solution would be for them to be with him all the time, but even then Miko might try to run away, right under his optics! That's when Starscream came up with an idea! It wasn't great, but it was a way to solve his problem!

The Seeker opened his cockpit, and put the children inside, despite their exclamations of indignation. Miko was the loudest screamer, of course, but the jet didn't care. There, he wished good luck to this reckless kid to find a way out.

"I'm going to smash your cockpit! the Japanese girl shouted, more in the form of a threat than a real warning.

- I would like to see you try! teased the jet.

- Know that Ratchet already tried to lock us up like that once, and we made him regret it bitterly!

- I'm not Ratchet!"

Suddenly, Starscream felt a strange sensation inside his cockpit, which couldn't stop him from laughing. He put a hand over his mouth, surprised at his own reaction, and really didn't understand how the feeling could have made him laugh like that.

"It's better when you're laughing than when you're grumpy! Miko smiled.

- I confess. nodded Jack.

- Just like Ratchet!" added Raf.

The sensation returned, and the Seeker raised his wings, before exclaiming:

“Oh! But what exactly are you doing?!

- We're looking for your ticklish spots!" replied the Japanese girl.

"Ticklish"?! What did that even mean?! The jet couldn't really go further in his thoughts, because the feeling came back, much stronger, which he was doing that he kept laughing uncontrollably.

Starscream began to roll on the floor laughing, when it was now simply impossible to stand. He opened his cockpit, to force the children out and thus stop this far too new sensation, but Miko simply took the opportunity to jump on his head, shouting:

“Yaah!! Tickle Attack!!!

- Aaah! Let go of me! Get off me, you little monster!!!" yelled the Seeker, half-laughing in spite of himself.

When the Autobots returned, they were met with a strange sight, as they witnessed the jet being technically beaten by the children on the ground. Ratchet was the one who intervened, and he easily understood how the little humans had gone about putting Starscream down like this. He had already suffered it once, and could only sympathize.

The others had never really experienced it, but from what they had seen, they could only tell themselves that it was apparently particularly effective against them. After that, the Seeker was adamant that he would never watching the kids again. He didn't want to have to deal with that terrible weapon that was the tickles ever again.

I was just working on a personal reference for Cetus so I don't have to look at several pictures to keep his design consistent pff. I threw in a human for scale. I find it hilarious how Cetus just keeps going.

Then I threw in Merry and Tide so I can keep their sizes semi-consistent too. Them being in the same world and all (but not in the same time period).

The people working with Cetus got nerves of steel.
