cait it’s me @piastrification but u knew that already. i’m back with more brainrot. i’m thinking of driver n reader sexting bc they meet on tumblr, and they have nsfw side blogs. that is all.

ok i wanted to say like lando bc he seems like the type. but yk who else seems like the type? seb. in his redbull days before tumblr banned porn.

i can so see his blog starting off as a car blog or smth like that, but he discovers porn on tumblr and becomes a nsfw blog real quick. posts his own dick one night because he takes a really nice dick pic and has no one to show. throws a few tags on it that he follows so people will see it and goes to bed. wakes up to like a hundred notes on the post and is drunk on the feeling so he posts a cheesy thank you with another dick pic and all day is checking his phone as notifications roll through. continues posting for years and becomes one of the top porn blogs on tumblr and is so cocky about the fact that he’s a world champion and secretly a popular porn star lowkey. then one night he finds reader’s blog and follows her.

i can imagine her getting the notification that he followed her, blog newly made and everything. a few weeks go by before he messages her and they start talking. i can imagine she initiates the sexting by telling him she dreamed about him and he asks what happened and she’s like, “well it was weird because you didn’t have a face but-“ and tells him all about her dream. they regularly sext after that, send nudes all the time. she tells him one night that she had sex with some guy and only got off because she suddenly thought of him and had a really good orgasm thinking about him and he’s at the track when he sees the message and has to go jerk off in his drivers room bc of it.

alsooo max ??? would definitely do it. as a world champion. same exact thing as seb but he would ask her to meet up real quick because he needs to fuck her after months of sexting. she just thinks he’s some super rich guy who she flew in to fuck. doesn’t even remember his last name when she’s flying back home. her friends tease her for being an international booty call when they hear about it. she lies and tells them they met at a club when he was in town and makes up a last name when she can’t remember his. says he has no socials and is super lowkey because all she knows is his tumblr and there’s no way she’s giving that and explaining how they really met. can imagine he flies to see her or flies her out to see him pretty often bc he wants to fuck, but the whole point of an anonymous blog is to be anonymous so she never questions him about anything. they see each other monthly but only know each other’s first names. then one day her friends are asking why there’s a photo of her and a race car driver together at a restaurant in a foreign country trending on twitter when they thought she had the flu and she’s like… oh shit. what the fuck?

Like these boys actually chose each other to become a part of their lives and they've always been more than colleagues from the very first day and that's the best thing. No ur right tho they could be unironically very popular on YouTube if they had made vlogs or smth like… we all know they’re fucking hilarious when they’re together. It’s practically inevitable. But yes your question. This fandom does have ships! There are actually a bunch of fics on ao3 and i for one am one of the many contributors to it (see my pinned post for example. Or my masterlist). I’m not sure where your Luke/Michael assumption is coming from but quite the opposite actually! statistics wise it’s at the top of the ships! From what i’ve heard the ao3 fandom used to be more active, but there are definitely still a lot and definitely very good writers around now. The circle might be smaller, but the quality holds up. Now idk if you know about this, but you mentioned bromance, and that brings me to a different topic actually, bc 5sos is the first fandom i’m in that has, drum roll, bromance fics! And quite a few actually, even ot4 has been a bit more popular lately. There are some extremely cute ones inspired by the show or just simple cute every day situations, and they’re all worth a read i think. 5sos really are such close friends people said ‘yk what. Lemme just write abt that real quick’ and i think… that’s pretty cool.

One thing about this fandom is also — at least in this corner that i’m in (which is also restricted to slash) — that it’s very aware of the fact that slash is rpf. They’re real people. I know a lot of writers who sometimes struggle with that knowledge, bc many have read or heard that rpf is bad or wrong or whatever, but i really think that most writers here have found a good way to handle it, and know how to write them without… stripping them off their humanity and the fact that they’re actual people who deserve respect. It’s a nice thing to know that and be assured, bc i think it is indeed very important to remember that, especially in fic where you could theoretically write whatever. To me, really, it’s not even like i’m actively writing about them, to be honest. How could I really write about them? I don’t know them. Their fic versions to me are characters, i’m making up a character that is based on their irl person, but that’s… where i draw the line somehow. Fic is about creativity and writing stories and characters, and yes they are greatly based on the actual person, but you can never know if what you write what they’re doing is something they would actually do. Another thing in this aspect is also that 5sos straight up… seem to accept it exists? Idk where or in which interview it was. But they’ve never explicitly said that they think it’s dumb or weird or that fans should stop it. If they did say that, i would stop in a heartbeat. But they seem to be okay with it, and they don’t interact with it, so it’s not bothering them, and it’s very much only here on tumblr/ao3, so it’s like… who cares? And there really are some fucking amazing fics out there, no matter if it’s a hundred or two hundred thousand words. There are so many beautiful fics that handle the most interesting stories and issues and honestly, some of them are just straight up better than some books i’ve read. They make you cry and laugh and wish you could feel that feeling every day. If it wasn’t obvious yet, i love fic. So. Did this even answer your question i don’t know i’m sorry sojdlfjsjdl

hi i have a master's in ecological preservation practices in precolonial america and an assisting bachelor's of native American history with a double minor in ecology and prehistorical farming practices. I am also a proud Na'rutan. i do not approve of the way people are choosing to attack you and i am instead choosing to inform you. generally, taking one or two or three rocks from a location is not very harmful as long as they are not placed back outside in a different location. taking a large bag filled with rocks however, can be extremely detrimental to the hyperlocal ecosystem you took them from. doing this effects the ecosystem by removing homes for animals and insects, it also effects the rivers natural flow and you can unknowingly disturb things like fish egg sacs and other developing animals. it can also remove vital nutrients from the land as rocks provide much nutrients to the earth and water that they naturally resided in. it can also cause negative effects on the area the rocks were newly introduced to, this is null if you plan on exclusively keeping them in your house, but this means if you want to put them in your garden for instance, you could cause an outbreak of a new illness among the earth and those living in it. in general, taking large amounts of rocks from anywhere besides say, a parking lot, is pretty damaging on all ends and i wouldn't recommend it. that being said, i am a rock collector, i just am very selective with where and how many rocks i remove from a natural environment.

thank you for taking the time to send this and put informed thought into it. i do understand the repercussions, but this is all based on a tumblr post i made in passing without very much thought or effort while in a very good mood, i was being hyperbolic bc i was so excited. it wasnt a large bag and i really didnt take that many, just some big ones and some small ones, which when put into one bag was heavy compared to my tote bag that was carrying a paperback book and two small journals and my purse with barely anything of substance in it. thats why i keep saying these anons are basing their arguments in assumptions bc they frankly do not know the half of it! im planning on keeping them inside, im aware that putting stuff from one environment into another can fuck up both and it wasnt something i was considering. i didnt take most of the rocks i took from the actual water but from the sand and the dirt leading to/from the parking lot and i did feel bad about possibly evicting bugs n stuff and thats one of the reasons i picked up so much trash (also its just the right thing to do, even tho the better thing would be for others to just not litter) i literally do not think at all though that i should have to defend myself this hard or at all when the ppl arguing against me absolutely do not have the facts on what i did and are literally always looking for something to be mad at and stumbled upon me and my loosey goosey tumblr post that was not in fact a historical documentation of the event but a gesture of something i did that wasnt supposed to mean anything and was just supposed to be a quick caption for some pictures i took outside. it was just a post i made bc i had a good day for once and did smth meaningful to me. you guys are not entitled to how or why or rlly what was meaningful or anything for that matter. i shouldnt have to share every detail for you guys to not take smth in bad faith or to make you understand that while yes i did something that wasnt the best for the environment that sometimes being a human with feelings means you do that kind of stuff anyways. it isnt this big of a deal AT ALL and im tired of thinking about it. im not saying its okay to fuck over the planet when youre in the mood for it either im just saying i didnt fuck over the planet and im just a person and i dont strive to be perfectly good and sometimes i will do things that arent morally golden shining and pure and not feel that bad about it simply bc DUH! when im saying yall its not necessarily about u anon bc i do respect where ur coming from and that you said what you had to say like this but literally this isnt the end of the world i prommy

as requested by the lovely vee~ IT’S IZUKI HOURS IN THIS HOUSE TONIGHT (ok lbr when is it not izuki hours but. extra izuki hours? extra izuki hours)!!!

a quick bit of praise for our mangaka here -- when you come to character development in fujimaki’s story, even the most minor of players or the villains are never 2D cutouts or caricatures. they all have distinctive personalities and overcome roadblocks in their thinking. for example, despite the severe mishandling of his mental illness by the story, akashi is shown to have struggled and suffered -- he is a person you can feel sorry for, while still rooting for him to be beaten. you can dislike his character, the way i do, and still sympathise. we also get super relatable stories of minor characters like kawahara, who does his best on the court despite being naturally sickly!

(it’s another thing entirely that he focuses a little too hard on his main characters and doesn’t give enough screentime to side characters who when delved into can be just as interesting, but the fact that he manages to make the side characters so full of life is amazing.)

finally coming to the main point of this post: izuki, and what all the previous waffle was about, aka his character and the development he undergoes. not just on-screen, but what’s implied in his backstory. i’m also probably gonna end up meandering into headcanon territory a bit so bear with me.

izuki began playing basketball in the second grade, at around 7 or 8 -- i’m gonna say 7, because he’s an october birthday and the cutoff for the japanese school year is by april 1st of the following year. so... he started out pretty young, and had lots of time to practice, which is mainly why his technique is so clean -- if you are a die-hard izuki fan like me, you’d notice that he rarely wastes movements or does unnecessary shit on court. even his puns have a purpose: they take the heat off the team in charged moments. i’ve been in these sorts of high-pressure situations a lot, and had a friend who would keep firing off jokes. at the time we would all snap at her, but in the long run that snapping helped because it made us just a bit less stressed. and that bit did so much!

all this being said, developing his ability probably didn’t come easy, especially with his relatively average physical skill. yet izuki relies 99% on his technique as opposed to any sort of ‘power’ or even his eagle eye (i’m gonna call it e-e through the rest of this post). e-e is pretty much just an addition, albeit a very useful one, to izuki’s prowess on the court. like this boy really just stood on the b-ball court with these crazy geniuses and said, “fuck you all i deserve to be here too” and he does deserve it. like the amount of work he puts into bball is just... beautiful.

now here is where we go into headcanon territory. izuki definitely had a meltdown moment or two -- there’s no way even someone like him can always be cool and collected. (see: kirisaki daiichi match). i’m 90% sure that at least once he sat down and went, “what’s the point?” but he picks himself up after this and he just keeps fucking going. in middle school he also went through the same thing as hyuuga -- repeated loss to more talented people. i agree that hyuuga took more responsibility as he was the captain, but izuki definitely took all the responsibility for hyuuga. you can’t tell me there weren’t nights that this boy sat up thinking, maybe if he’d just worked harder, been stronger or faster or better, hyuuga wouldn’t have quit.

also see: dedication to his friends. izuki, a boy who worked at basketball since he was 8, just coolly gave it up to follow hyuuga to seirin bc hyuuga needed a friend. he chose a friend over smth that was basically another limb to him and thats just beautiful isn’t it? he’s hardworking and so so resilient and thats amazing????

these are just a few of the reasons i love izuki. his character is made of truly different stuff -- and he has a quirk that actually just shows off how smart he is. like i challenge you to say 100 puns in a row. nothing but puns. if you can do it, you have my respect <3

Hey y'all. This is kind of going to be a vent/rant post so if you want, just keep scrolling. I'm probably going to tag all my vents this way so if you want, block the tag #silv's back on her bs .

Alright, to anyone who stuck around, hi I am very. very pissed. So the main thing I'm mad about is privilege. There is this guy that I know who is very, privileged (let's call him T). Basically with everything going on in real life we do our best on social media to spread awareness, and to educate ourself right? My brother (brother 2) is doing a very good job with that. He has someone who is following him that is a pro lifer.

*I would like to say smth real quick. Idc if you're a pro-lifer I really don't. However if project your beliefs on to other human beings who may need the surgery for health, mental, emotional reasons, then you are a dick. Like there's no other way to put it you are an asshole, and if you don't agree please get off my blog. anyways back to your regularly scheduled rant bc my friends are tired of me being mad at this douche*

My brother reposted on his story (insta) a heartbreaking story/video of how a woman was caught in a case of police brutality that caused her to miscarry. This is a horrible thing point blank. However, do you know what "T" replied to his story with? "So how is this murder but abortion isn't?". Alright so let me sum some things up real fast.

-This case of police brutality was horrifying. It was heartbreaking to watch and hear about and it must have been devastating for the family who went through such pain

-A privileged white cis-het male thinks that this is equivalent to abortion

My brother ofc went into a lengthy debate with this kid. He pulled out statistics, he quoted me and my mom and his friend on how he shouldn't get to decide woman's rights. He ignored all the points only hearing what he wanted to hear. Eventually he left the conversation with an "I have something to bye". And then he ghosted my brother for 4 days. So, by this time I am LIVID. I had turned the situation over in my head multiple times at night, just seething with rage. I figured out the PERFECT thing to say to him. Do you want to know what happened four days later? Four days later he posted a "_____ lives matter, if you have to put a colour in front you are racist".

So.

You can feel the privilege radiate off the screen right?

My brother responds to his story and says, "You do understand why black lives matter tho right? *and like the movement in general*

and he says "I don't want to argue with you anymore."

So "T" doesn't personally know me. I'm just Brother 2's little sister that he's never met. I can't dm him on insta cuz he doesn't know who I am. So I'm ranting to anyone who reads this on tumblr. so im scrolling through my subscription feed on youtube right

and I see this

and at first I'm trying to figure out what this actually means bc I have no idea what hes talking about

like for all I know it couldve been some really nasty dogwhistley stuff or hes just like a nazi now, or maybe Activision was making a game with a non-straight-white-cis-guy protagonist or smth?

so apparently activision is removing the "ok" hand gesture from call of duty bc of how its been used by nazis and white supremacists to signal "white power" and dogehistle to each other

and I should get this out of the way, I dont play cod, and I don't really care what Activision does with it as long as its not promoting ideas/values that can cause harm (like racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc); basically im not invested in this like.. at all

so it seems like its removal won't really affect in-game communication all that much, and seeing as how the sign has been used by white supremacists to dogwhistle to each other, I can see why they would remove it (especially considering how toxic gaming communities can be)

a lot of people are like "oh but its just a hand sign" or "oh that was just a 4chan meme from back in 2016/2017" or "oh I didnt even know" or "oh, so when I use the 'ok' hand sign in [generally not racist context such as scuba diving] ill be seen a racist now" and I just

like I kinda want to make a comment and/or reply to people and explain that its context-dependent, and no, using the gesture doesnt automatically make you racist but idk

like on one comment basically saying "oh its just a 4chan troll campaign" someone replied explaining how the gesture has been used by high-profile Nazis and white supremacists, and they think its kinda dumb to ban it but acknowledge that its been used by a lot of people as a dogwhistle, and explaining that the "ok" hand sign being a common symbol is the point bc thats how dogwhisteles work; if someone doesnt get the context or what it means, it'll just fly right past them and they'll think nothing of it

so im due to start at cambridge university for bio natural sciences in october and i thought i would write a post about what helped me make a successful application. hopefully this is useful to some people!! (also this is an incredibly long post you’ve been warned)

if anyone wants me to do a more in depth post on one specific section, or you guys have any questions at all, feel free to drop me a message!!

choosing a course

this is the most important bit!!! you’re dedicating 3/4/5/6 years of your life to this

oxbridge as rule (esp cambridge) have slightly different courses to other universities so do your research - on their websites and at open days

i know top students are supposed to apply to oxbridge bc “it’s the best” and stuff but if the courses offered don’t interest you or you prefer how other unis teach that course, DON’T APPLY!! it’s not worth it

generally, look at your a level/ib/etc subjects and which sort of courses they meet the entry requirements for then look at websites and stuff to try and narrow it down

talk to current students! the blog askacambridgestudent on tumblr is great, each area has an oxbridge conference each april if you can go, ask students at open days

they can tell you what it’s actually like

read some books in the subject area you’re considering, watch ted talks, go to masterclasses, do work experience

this will help you choose a course and also be useful later when you write your personal statement

okay so when i was applying people kept telling me i would only be successful if the only thing i thought about 24/7 was biology and it was the love of my life. this is not true. you can have other interests don’t believe the people that tell you that you cant

that being said you need to be passionate about your subject!! refer to bullet point 1!! they want to know that you’re interested in it and this needs to show

oxford vs cambridge

this is really hard for some people but my course is only offered at cambridge so i did not have this problem

so first see if you prefer the course offered at one of them

if not, visit both and hopefully you’ll get a better vibe from one

i have no good advice here

writing your personal statement

okay writing a ps is just not fun okay prepare yourself for that

if anyone wants a biology/natural sciences example message me and i can send you mine

this post has some really good advice

start early, aim to have it completely done and edited by early september (oxbridge deadline is 15th october)

first, think about things you want to write about - i wrote a paragraph on a book i’d read, a paragraph each on two summer schools i did, a paragraph on my epq, and a paragraph on extracurricular

things you can talk about - books, ted talks, lectures, summer schools, masterclasses, epq, independent research into stuff, work experience

when you’re writing about stuff you gotta engage with it, so dedicate a whole paragraph to one book, then take one key theme and talk about how it interested you and how you looked up other things to do with it - link it to a different concept or talk about which theory you like best if theres conflicting theories in the field etc

it’s a hard thing to do but just pick different bits you liked about the book and try to discuss it - a key theory, theme, character etc

you can be asked about your ps in interview so make sure you’re comfortable discussing the books on your ps

you also do not need to talk about multiple books if you don’t want to, i only talked about one and i know people who didn’t mention any

don’t just say things like “im passionate about biology”!! back it up with something!! say you’re passionate about one specific topic in your field and why, discuss how different things you did/read consolidated your interest, show your interest through discussion about the subject

try to link in slightly different subject areas or experiences, and definitely link everything to your course and why you’d be a good student

i managed to link my latin AS level to biology so anything is possible folks

while you want all your paragraphs to be very supercurricular based on things you’ve done and read, try and drop in some of those buzz words they love - you know like about your academic writing skills, enthusiasm, opportunity, dedication, communication, interdisciplinary skills etc.

oxbridge do not give a shit about your extracurricular but other unis do so you want one paragraph max on it and try to link it to transferable skills - it makes you a good communicator etc

write your first draft - it will be shitty but just write it, leave the intro and conclusion to last

introductions and conclusions are super hard to write but it’s doable. try to take the general idea you’re trying to include (mine was how interdisciplinary study is important to both all the sciences together and sub disciplines in bio) and write a little bit about it

it doesn’t have to be long, your intro should introduce your passion to the subject (please don’t do the whole “i’ve wanted to study bio since i was five and x happened” thing)

conclusion can be super short, just reinforce you’re excited to study your subject in a new environment and have new opportunities

look at the tsr examples for inspiration

try to make it cohesive ish? have a running theme? (like how this one has a running theme? i actually took a lot of inspiration from that ps)

don’t say things like “im a motivated and commited student with good time management skills” without smth to back it up - “while undertaking an independent research project, i developed time management skills, and researching x made me more interested bc y” is better (i mean still not incredible but i wrote that literally just now okay)

the student room has a load of examples from people who’ve already applied

read the ones in your subject, work out which bits you like and don’t like, apply to your own (be careful of plagiarism tho)

disclaimer: not all the ps on there are good

once you have a complete and awful first draft show it to a teacher

most people show it to the relevant subject teacher, but also to your tutor, the higher education adviser, oxbridge adviser

they will hopefully help you make it less awful but don’t let them change it so much it doesn’t sound like you

i showed mine to the oxbridge adviser at my school and well he laughed at it bc it was so bad so you know

but i didn’t listen to everything he said bc some of the things he wrote like no 17 year old would say

keep revising drafts, showing to teachers until you can’t stand reading it anymore then get someone else (maybe parents?) to spell check and be done with the horrible thing

no one likes their personal statement, you will read it in august and wonder how you could possibly write something so bad

the actual ucas application

make sure your predicted grades are at least as high as the entrance requirements

you don’t really have much control over your teacher reference but you can use it to mention things you couldn’t fit in your personal statement if you can convince your teachers to include stuff

make sure all your qualifications and stuff are accurate

the saq (cambridge only)

you have to fill this in straight after october 15th

it’s mostly boring admin stuff, filling in topics and class sizes etc.

you have an option to write an additional (shorter) personal statement

this is really useful if the course you’re applying to at oxbridge is different to the other courses youve applied to - such as if you applied to politics everywhere else but hsps at cambridge - use it to explain why you want to do that specific course at cambridge

but you definitely don’t have to write one, i didnt!

make sure you get this in on time

written work

for some courses you have to send in written work

i didn’t have to so i don’t have loads of advice, but make sure you send in stuff that you’re comfortable discussing at interview

they’ll be guidelines on the cambridge website and on your specific college’s website

admissions tests

not the most fun things

find the specification on the website and go through, highlighting and revising the points you don’t know

try to find some past papers and do them

this really depends on the subject you’re doing so i can’t give much more advice but if anyone needs advice specific to the NSAA shoot me a message

also, these are just part of your application and even if you came out of yours thinking it’s the worst test you’ve ever had it probably didn’t go that badly

the NSAA is the hardest test i’ve ever sat and i thought i had done completely shit and i still got an offer so there’s still hope

interviews

okay so first, don’t believe the rumours

you know the ones where people say they got given a banana and asked to use it to explain how quantum mechanics relates to of mice and men

interviews are definitely scary, but they are nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be, and they don’t ask you weird unrelated questions

make sure you know your personal statement inside out and you feel comfortable talking about the topics/books/etc you mentioned on there in depth

keep up to date with any recent news or high profile research in your field (you don’t need to know details, just have a vague idea of what’s going on)

this is especially important if you’re applying for politics or economics or something like that

if your school offers a mock interview, definitely have one, though don’t panic if you can’t have one there’s other ways to prepare

the whole point of interview is them wanting to see how you think and how you respond to unfamiliar problems

so i looked up a list of “past oxbridge interview questions” and practised writing down a quick answer to them and thinking about how i would go about solving the problem

oxford has some examples on the “sample questions” bit here

i also used this site but remember a lot of these probably aren’t actual interview questions

if you have an opportunity, just talk to your relevant subject teacher about the topics beyond your specification

you honestly don’t need to do too much interview prep, just do enough so you feel a bit calmer about the whole thing

hope some of that helps :)

finally decided to put together a main hc post for the boys

sung

a cyclops! his eye is iridescent, so it’s a different color depending on the angle, but it looks blue from most angles

pointy ears

otherwise visually indistinguishable from a human

his species starts as a fourth dimensional being without physical form but as they get older they can decide to take physical form if they want

the decision to take physical form is permanent, they can’t shift back or shift into something else

some Shit happened to make it so that he needs to be in the vicinity of the prismatic core to stay alive

i think i’m leaning towards him having embedded it in his chest but i haven’t fully decided

mostly bc the image of him just keeping it in a fuckin pocket when not in armor is hilarious

in terms of neat powers and whatnot

his species can travel short distances in time, but he can’t anymore bc of the same Shit from before (with the exception of outside forces like time crystals)

can sense other life forms within the nearby area

can get sick but works through it quickly and most stuff can’t actually kill him

recovers insanely fast from injuries, and only serious wounds leave scars

a good dude! really fuckin old and has seen some shit but still an optimist and has a lot of faith in the good in the universe

to be frank, adhd like a motherfucker

more clued in to earth culture than it looks like, he just forgets/ignores a lot of it if it's not vital (i.e. won’t endanger anyone)

just a straight up dude with a lion head and tail

real tough nails that tend to grow a bit pointy but no actual claws by cat standards

really fast at recovering, both from wounds and illnesses

is an only child and was raised by his mom

of the rest of his family, only knew his maternal grandmother

side note: his grandma is cool as fuck. absolutely cooler than him

got into smuggling funk in his late teens/early twenties

funk in that context is definitely smth more substantial than the music, and is produced by the music under certain conditions with the right instruments

funk is harmless to most species, but, yknow.

worked his way up to being a commander in a space funk smuggling guild of sorts

phobos’ planet was the meeting place with a client and there was an issue with containment upon production, and that’s p much how that happened

has to be careful when space traveling bc occasionally he will be recognized and at that point there’s a fifty fifty chance of things going badly

the best pilot of the bunch! also just generally good with vehicles, picks up how to operate things pretty quickly

not really a mechanic, but is good at finding quick fixes on ships until they can get to someone with more professional skill

still an asshole, but a decent dude where it matters

gets himself into shit occasionally but is decent about patching things back up

the most clued in about earth culture, but only because it has a lot of similarities to his home planet and he spends the most time out doing stuff

a luna moth, basically

bipedal with one pair of arms and a pair of functional wings

weird mouth setup! they’ve got proboscises which are what they use the most, but they’ve also got a pair of actual jaws more suited to solid food that are just hidden by Fluff most of the time

pitch based language made up of hums and buzzing noises

technically diurnal, but their planet has much lower light than earth’s and similar planets

his mother was the elected ruler of his people, his father was a botanist, and he also had an older brother

he got the title of lord through relation and working to earn it

was working on a satellite above the planet with a couple astronauts when the funkpocalypse occured

in rushing to get back to the planet, his suit/equipment got caught on something and kept him there long enough that he only got back for the aftermath, so he wasn’t affected by the funk at all

wings were damaged badly enough in the fallout that he can no longer fly

was trying to go after meouch when sung found them

he’d successfully found meouch but his injuries from debris and such were slowing him down immensely

he’s still working through the tail end of mourning, but has forgiven meouch and has gotten to be good friends with him

started learning sign language a few weeks after joining up with the rest of the band

just as much of a dweeb as sung, he just has a better filter and doesn’t immediately voice most of his dumbass thoughts

an all around pleasant dude!

has a definite mischievous asshole streak though

low tolerance for bullshit

the quietest, even disregarding the vow of silence

i wish i had a better way to describe it but enjoys a very tumblr brand of nonsensical and/or vaguely ominous humor

the least knowledgeable about earth culture but manages to squeak by in a lot of situations through sheer luck and politeness

was human before becoming a cyborg

most of his internal workings have been replaced, but aside from that, everything above his waist (torso, arms, head) is more or less intact

still has a functional digestive system! doesn’t need to use it to stay alive though

in terms of energy, does have a battery but it’s an outrageously long-lived one, he can go about a week without needing to charge

his charging ports are in the soles of his feet and charge through contact with a docking panel sung made him

he’s also got a plug in one that he can hook up an extension cable to should he need to, though

after sung (by a lot), he’s the oldest

prefers to wear his armor most of the time, but can remove it if he chooses

from the future but fucky time travel landed the crew he was previously a part of in the mesozoic era where they turned on him, nearly killed him, and promptly left him for dead

has a loyalty towards sung from being saved by him but that’s about it

or, it at least started as just loyalty, nothing more, but has grown to sort of actually value sung + meouch + phobos’ company

still doesn’t dwell on it much, though

not one for feelings, at all

does have them, but they’ve been fucked with enough that they’re not exactly all there anymore

has a general disdain for most life forms, but has a soft spot for animals

will not intentionally harm children or animals most of the time

Likes Knives but isn’t allowed around them on planets

has a very ominous sense of humor that actually meshes p well with phobos’

is actually decently clued in about earth culture, just could not give less of a fuck

1) of the fic you’ve written, which are you most proud of?Hmm… probably all my colors? Like, there’s a lot I’d like to go back and change, but at the end of the day it was my baby for a good two plus years and there’s a lot of personal stuff sprinkled in there. It kinda shows my emotional progression throughout high school in the story, and while that’s def not why I wrote it, it’s cool to go back and look at it sometimes to see the things I used to say/think about. Plus it’s one of the only massive projects of mine that I’ve actually completed, lol.

Also I have a lot of love for amc just bc it’s so… different, I guess? Like, I’ve never really seen something like it fleshed out into a full-length story, especially not with silver and blaze. And the fact that it rlly touched several ppl and got them rlly into it… that makes me feel kinda accomplished when I’m not being a self-deprecating prick lmao. I rlly rlly wanted it to be my first fic to get to 100 reviews for a reason!

2) favorite tense (past/present/future)Definitely past, I tried present with the unforgiven and it just made it frustrating to write, lmao.

3) favorite POV (first/second/third/etc)I prefer writing in first person, actually. I think it simplifies things for both the writer and reader, and I’ve always found a lot more freedom to be creative when I write in first person.

4) what are some themes you love writing about?Lmao well, obviously romance is priority one for me, so most of my themes stem from that. I rlly love writing about class struggle tho, whether it’s someone low who’s aiming high or a noble who isn’t satisfied with such a high class. Morality also comes up a lot in my writing, I guess; tryna figure out what the right thing to do is, tryna figure out if this character actually did the best thing, all that good stuff!

5) what inspires you to write?Definitely music… sometimes I’ll stray from it and pick up some inspo from movies/stories/etc, but 99% of the time I’ll be listening to a song and suddenly come up w a fic idea from it lmao.

6) thoughts on critiqueI encourage it!! bc I think it’s the only real way to improve. Sometimes it can make me feel bad if I’m in one of those rlly shitty self-deprecation ruts, but still I usually get over it soon even when I’m like that. I know it’s for the better, and I appreciate everyone who’s ever been kind enough, and cared enough abt my writing to give me critique!

7) create a character on the spot…. NOW!UMMMM OKIE,,, what abt a snow leopard named Kyra… she likes to sit around n read n eat noodles… her main hobby other than reading is dancing. she’s v shy but she loves her close friends n BAM I just made her gay. She’s a lesbian, harold.

8) is there a character you love writing for the most? the least? why?Most - probably silver… his personality is always one I’ve gotten a lot of joy out of writing. He’s basically a walking contradiction, lmfao. He’s also pretty easy for me to self-project onto, idk why. Least - I’m gonna say amy for this one, just because it’s been hard for me to focus on more than one aspect of her personality and flesh all of it out. Plus amy is a somewhat overused character lol, I get a lot more fun out of writing blaze/tikal/others when I need a female role, even if it’s something simple

It was nearly a fortnight before any word was received from King Pyrus. It came in the form of a small parcel addressed to Blaze, which held a note inside for her. The young princess jumped at the feet of the servant who had brought it in, and once it was lowered into her hands, she hurried to her chamber. Once there, she closed the door behind her and jumped on her bed, unable to contain her excitement. With a careful claw and an eager expression, she tore the parcel’s paper away. Before looking at what it contained, she snatched the note from her father, and brought it to her face. It read:

My Little Flame,

I am sorry I could not write to you sooner. I remain busy, but I finally began exploring, and I found something I think you will simply adore. It is a traditional robe (I believe it is called a kimono) from here in the Eastern Isles. It is just as beautiful as the land, and just as special as you are to I, my dear. We must make plans to bring you here one day, it astounds me each time.

Do not fret about the ongoings in the world, how ever much you have heard. Kiniti watches over us at all times, and she will ensure peace among all kinetics. Hopefully, I will depart in the coming few days, and we will see one another soon.

Blaze, of course, merely skimmed over the second half of the note as a formality. She laid the message aside, and her jaw dropped once she held the kimono out. It was a beautiful shade of dark purple, with an equally enchanting design. Trails of dainty cherry blossoms sat on rugged branches, which climbed up either side of the robe. The silk seemed to melt between Blaze’s fingers; it was the softest material she had ever felt. She rubbed one of the sleeves against her cheek, and purred into it. When she turned the robe over, she gasped. A large, pink bow was already tied at the back, as if it had been made just for her. She slipped the kimono over her shoulders, and although the sleeves hung low over her arms, the length was just right. Blaze tied the pieces of ribbon at her waist, just as Pyrus had taught her, and words could never express how delighted she was with the gift. She could not wait to show her father once he returned.

As Blaze was fitting her tail through the bow on her back, Baxton entered the room. Whenever Pyrus was absent, it was usually Baxton who took up the king’s general duties. He signed letters, addressed the people, attended court; it kept him quite busy. The only responsibility he didn’t inherit was any control of he army - the sole post he would be familiar with. Quite the chore it was, but Baxton was always fond of his temporary sovereign role. At least in terms of the power he held, that is. In fact, Blaze assumed that he had been yelling at some servants not too long ago, judging by his flushed face.

The elder cat scratched his head. “Princess, did the king leave a letter?”

Blaze pointed to the note on her bed. Baxton scurried to it, and frowned as he glanced over the elegant handwriting. “Is this it?” he quizzed.

The princess nodded, and held her arms out with a smile. “Look, Baxi! Look at what father sent me!”

Blaze couldn’t quite tell what Baxton’s expression conveyed, but it was something between a smile and a scowl. The note crumpled in a quick motion from Baxton’s fist, and was thrown back onto the bed cover. Blaze didn’t think much of this as Baxton hurried out, and she walked to her mirror to admire the kimono again.

10) what are your strengths wrt writing?Hmm… I get a lot of ppl saying that I’m pretty eloquent when it comes to phrasing/word choices? I’m constantly tinkering with how things are said, even up until like 30 seconds before I publish smth lmao. I also like to think I never just string sentences together and leave it at that when I’m narrating, I pay a lot of attention to how different sentences/phrases flow together.

11) what are your weaknesses wrt writing?My main weakness would probably be going overboard on all the little things, like how a sentence sounds or flows and stuff like that. I end up being a perfectionist with it, and sometimes when I’m crafting/changing phrases around, I end up with a sentence that kinda drags on or tries to do too much.

12) what’s your favorite place for writing resources?Tumblr’s pretty good for me, actually. I rarely ever seek out resources, but I do reblog a lot of them that come to me here and they’ve been very useful to me in the past.

this might be a strange question, but do you know a good way of making gif headers on tumblr? I figured you'd be good to ask since you seem to know how to make edits well and I thought it be okay?

Depends what you’re looking for!!

If you want to make the gifs themselves, you can use free software (a la G.ifCam or smth like it, whatever fancy dohickeys u ppl dredge up from the web… I’ve used G.ifCam a lot before myself tho hence the rec, it’s v simple JHEBRGN.)

As for making headers themselves, I use photoshop to make them, so that’s where most of my knowledge is.

In general tho, regarding what size your header should be, check out this post and base it off what you’re most concerned with. I don’t use the default tumblr theme, for instance, and idc what the header looks like in my settings, so I tend to make my headers around the 640×360 size mark for the header box popup thingy, give or take some width/height depending on the quality. (It’s better to be a little over w/ gifs rather than under, bc gif quality gets murdered if it gets resized larger.)

AS FOR TIPS & TRICKS FOR ACTUALLY CREATING HEADERS Hmmm… I can give a quick tutorial on some basic things that’ll help on the path to actually designing them, but again, just depends on what exactly you’re wanting help with, so if you have a more specific query, feel free to hmu, I don’t mind 😂 Here’s some basics tho, knowing how to do this stuff is helpful in general lesse…

I’m going to be using this gif as an example for most of this.

* 101.

When you put a psd over a gif, it should always be on top of all the gif layers, like so. I bring it up bc I slapped a psd on the one I’m editing. Just in case jerbng.

Ofc, you can press play on the timeline to see what the finished gif will look like.

* SAVING A GIF.

To properly save a gif in photoshop, you’ll want to go to File > Export > Save for Web.

Make sure you have the options set to GIF and looping to FOREVER.

* TWEENING / Phasing Gifs (for smoother looping)

You can do this before or after editing your gif, I suggest before just so you don’t forget about it if you’re like me and lame. But if your gif is something that doesn’t loop perfectly, you can make it phase back to the first frame assuming you’re somebody who dislikes when gifs jarringly snap back to the first frame.

Look at your timeline in PS, scroll to the last frame of the gif & select it.

Then click on “tweens animation frames” on the timeline controls.

Make sure to select FIRST FRAME for “tween with.” Add as many frames as you think makes the gift phase smoothly: I usually go anywhere from 5-10 frames. The higher number of frames you can add with it looking okay, the smoother the transition is. Just play around w/ it.

After that, create a new layer and put it under the gif’s first layer. Make it a solid color or w/e you want the gif to fade to (usually black or white is best.)

Now, you have this:

* TWO GIFS, ONE FILE.

You can combine 2 gifs into one; and I suggest using 2 gifs that have the same amount of frames since it’s just… easier. Both of the gifs I used for this have 29 frames. The one I’m adding originally had like 13, so I duplicated the frames on the timeline until it had 29. Basically just do what u gotta do to get them to the same frame number. Then, go to the gif you want to ADD to the one you’re working on, select all the frames on the TIMELINE and go to the timeline options, the lines in the corner:

Select: COPY FRAMES.

Then move past to your original gif, select all frames in that timeline, go back to timeline options and

Select: PASTE FRAMES.

You’re going to want to have “paste OVER selection” ticked.

And there you go! If you look at your layers, both gifs will be there.

In my case, I went through the timeline and removed the background of the second gif I added. You can play around and do what you will. I just tweaked the psd, cleaned up the second gif & ended up with this:

* ADDING TEXT / TEXTURES.

Just add text how you normally would with anything else. Make sure it’s above all the gif layers, either right below your psd or above it if you don’t want the psd to affect it.

For textures, also put them above all the gif layers. I’m going to apply this, for example.

I put this above my gif layers, then played around with the blending modes to find out what worked best w/ my psd/gif selection. Blending modes are the box that typically starts out as “normal” in your layers box:

Scroll through everything offered and decide what works best. For me, it was darken: after I applied it and moved the texture around (& inversed it, in my case!), I got this:

You can do this & play around with any texture / text / font / etc combination you want to use. Different textures on different gifs / psds will require you playing around with them to get them to look nice jhebrgn.

* GIFS ON STILL IMAGES.

The last thing I’ll show you is adding a gif to a still image. IE / how people… add sparkles or flames or w/e to their headers and stuff like that. I’ll use this as a random example.

First, open the gif you want to use. I’m gonna use this one.

Resize the gif to whatever you want your banner size to be via CTRL+ALT+I.

Note: make sure the link isn’t checked so you can make the width/height whatever you want. I’m just going to make it 640x400 bc w/e.

Take whatever still image you’re going to use and drag it to the canvas. Make it the top layer.

Now go back to the BLENDING MODES OPTIONS and set it to whatever works best for you. For me, it was screen.

The goal is for the gif texture to be visible, like so:

Now I’m going to slap my PSD above the still image layer and add text / textures just like I would anything else, as explained above.

And there you go! A gif texture on a still image, which can be used for a header or w/e else.

* I’M DONE NOW JHEBRNGJEHBGN.

There you go, some basics for editing gifs that can help you style / create banners and whatnot! I went through them p quick bc gestures vaguely but like JHBERNJGBN. If anyone wants a serious, in-depth tutorial about these things you can just let me know.

I probably just rambled, I’m sorry. 😂 The question wasn’t specific so I just pulled stuffed outta my hat and it’s all centric to photoshop but JHBNERG. HOPEFULLY THIS AT LEAST HELPED…. A LITTLE…. OR FOR SOMEONE… I’m crying.

overall, i was highly impressed by mr. son’s choreography. this is the definition of “smart movement” (i’ll discuss more in depth later) and bts stepped up their game when it came to dancing.

most improvement: SEOKJIN, yoongimost underwhelming: TAEHYUNG, namjoon (nj needs diff corrections)honorable mention to jung hoseok for having the best “floor slide” & keeping stable ankles while getting up. he was also the only one to straighten his knees for the kick at the end (3:31)

the best part of this piece are easily the transitions. the movement between complicated group positions aren’t just “walking to the next spot”, but steps w intention. good choreo makes it seem like the corps shifts so naturally that the next thing the audience registers is a new formationwhile i wasn’t a big fan of the “solo” sections bc i had to skip thru them endlessly lol, i thought the way that mr. son dealt w members popping in and out of the wings/stage was A+the BIG, noticeable transitions stood out positively. they were unexpected but???? also really Smart at the same time. members change into center position with no hassle + the steps were clean. seamless transitions were invented bc of this piece tbh1:05 - the wedge formation backing up easily into the open “V” 1:19 - notice how jungkook’s “solo” moment is incorporated into the corps (group) part & doesn’t draw attention to it2:05 - this is called moving w/o moving2:16 - THIS IS THE BEST PART OF THE ENTIRE PIECE THE CIRCULAR ROTATION W NOBODY OUT OF PLACE THAT SETTLES RIGHT INTO THEIR NEXT POSITION BY TRAVELING DURING THE JUMP WHAT THE FUCK VISUALLY IT LOOKS SO APPEALING AND CHOREOGRAPHICALLY IT’S EVEN MORE APPEALING THIS JUST IN MR. getting to the actual steps of the dance, DNA has tons of quick footwork, especially during the chorus. what i love about mr. son is that he’s an incredibly musical choreographer, and i’m always able to pick out his piece from BTS’ repertoire. he has a style that i have a predilection for lolhe likes to “catch the beat”, per se, especially with the lower body. he initiates movement according to musical cues, and this makes it easy to point out to non-dancers. when there’s a prominent Noise in the song, mr. son is likely to have a movement that physically represents it. it’s like being able to see the music thru the choreo & it’s so Wow every time (MIC DROP esp)0:56 - catch the tail end of taekook’s duet0:58 - the whole chorus in general 1:12 - no beats R missed w the fast ass choreo lmao mr. son really out there repping 4 us dancers huh

G R O U P W O R K AND SEPARATIONK SO U KNOW HOW I SAID LIKE ONE PARAGRAPH AGO HOW IM ABLE TO TELL MR. SON’S PIECES APART FROM OTHER’S??? THIS IS ANOTHER REASON WHYHE BREAKS APART GROUP FORMATIONS SO PRECISELY … SO SATISFYINGLY… THE WAY THAT THERE’S VARIATION IN LEVELS/MOVEMENT/STEPS THAT DRAW THE CORPS 2GETHER AS A WHOLE AND ADDS A WHOLE DIFFERENT DIMENSION THAN SIMPLE N UGLY “SYNCHRONIZED CHOREOGRAPHY”. while there were sections i wasn’t a fan of, mr. son ONCE AGAIN delivered another banger bob popper and dropper w DNA. he incorporated seamless transitions, clean steps, fast footwork, musical choreography, and smart movement!!!!! no steps were minced or useless (on the most part), and the high-energy matched the mood of the song. i one day hope that bts will be able to perform it w/o being fucking exhausted so they’re able to smile they’re way thru it & actually enjoy the dance
