Day 4 - Canon AU
Flies are a bitch
I know this isn’t exactly what the prompt was but I started writing and I just went with it
I am here with the funny
The flies were out again, and they were horrendous.
Gilgamesh was just trying to make a breakfast skillet in peace, but then the flies chose to strike.
A fly decided that it was the perfect time to fly around the skillet’s handle, which was right next to Gilgamesh’s head since he was digging through one of the lower cabinets for a few ingredients. The fly was buzzing right next to his ear, so he tried to swat it away with his free hand. The fly was scared off, but not just by his hand; when he was swatting, he accidentally slapped the handle of the skillet, sending the skillet and its contents flying.
Thena had just woken up. She walked into the living room and was hit in the face with egg, chorizo, melted cheese, and other various ingredients. Fortunately, she was able to dodge the skillet itself.
She slowly stood up, her eyes still squeezed shut.
“Well…” Thena said, chewing the breakfast that had landed in her mouth, “whatever that was, it was good.”
“It was scrambled eggs with chorizo, green and red peppers, cheese, and other stuff…”
The two stared at each other in silence before they both broke down laughing.
“The flies?” Thena asked, failing to contain her laughter for even just a few seconds.
“The flies.”
A few days later
Thena was crouched around the corner of the doorframe to her and Gil’s bedroom. The look on her face made her look like she was planning an assassination because, well, she kind of was.
Slowly, Gilgamesh came up behind her and put a hand on her shoulder. She didn’t flinch or anything; she already felt his warm presence approaching.
“What’re you doing?”
“Waiting,” Thena whispered
“…For what?”
“The right time to strike.” Thena’s gaze was fixated on a specific spot on the bed. He looked at the same spot and immediately understood why she looked like she was ready to commit murder.
“The fly,” they both growled.
Thena materialized her signature spear, and Gil couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her being able to manifest her weapons without a single trace of worry on her face.
Five, she counted on her fingers as Gil materialized his cosmic energy fist, four, three, two…
One.
They ran into the room, weapons ready and with only one objective in mind; kill that motherfucking fly.
Thena jumped into the air, her spear at her side while Gil was ready to revoke the fly’s life privileges with a single slap.
Right as Thena was about to stab the fly with disturbing accuracy, Gil slapped the fly, hopefully killing it. But when he did so, the fly wasn’t the only thing that had something broken…
When Gil slapped the fly, he broke the bed frame and put a hole through their mattress. This wasn’t just his fault, no; Thena also ripped up the mattress a bit with her spear. When Gil slapped the fly, she did her best to move out of the way, so her spear scraped along the sheets as she fell through the air.
Two hours later
Makkari had decided that it was the perfect day to make her monthly visit.
She knocked on the door to see if anyone was home and no one came to the door. Usually, Thena would come within seconds, but she didn’t, which scared her a bit.
So she just invited herself in.
Gil was manically slapping the air to get the flies away from him and Thena. Since they couldn’t buy a new bed quite yet, they piled up a bunch of pillows and blankets in the living room.
“Gil, can you- AH-“ Thena exclaimed as Gilgamesh landed on top of her. When he was trying to get the flies to leave, he accidentally slipped on something, and what that something was neither of them knew.
“Are you okay?” he asked, taking most of his weight off of her.
Thena had most of the air knocked out of her, but she was still able to formulate a response.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” she said, panting for air.
At the absolute worst moment possible, Makkari walked in.
WHOA- I- Um- Am I interrupting something? she asked, blushing so much that she looked like a tomato.
No, Thena and Gilgamesh replied, standing up and sitting on the couch.
Um, what happened in the past month, if I even dare ask?
We- Um- Gilgamesh was trying to figure out whatever the hell had happened.
We broke the bed, Thena said, completely aware of how it sounded.
THAT I DID NOT NEED TO KNOW! Makkari exclaimed, blushing a red deeper than that of her jacket.
We were trying to kill a fly, Gil added.
That… makes more sense… Sort of…
And there’s still a few here, Thena added, absolutely fucking pissed about the situation, and it was very evident in how she was signing.
R.I.P you guys.
Yeah… oh, and the guest room is ready for you, Gil said.
Thanks, okay, bye! Makkari signed as fast as she possibly could while still making her words actually understandable. She then ran to her room and slammed the door.
For the first time in days, everything was quiet.
Until it wasn’t.
The fly came back from the fucking dead just to torment them.
“I’m going to get that motherfucker in a box and I’m going to set it on fire,” Thena deadpanned as she walked to where they kept the gasoline.
“You’re not doing that...”
“Yes the fuck I am-“
“WITHOUT ME!”

Would kup have gotten roped into having to watch one of the little orbbies? Like little rodimus? Or did he just get to sit back and laugh at ratchet and his rambunctious little guy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ratchets on standby for training accidents (part of his agreement to be allowed to stay with omega) so he's met orbimus once or twice but has no idea what he's looking at. ratchet would rather explode than let anyone else alone with that thang
Tumblr media
even before the war it wasn't really very common knowledge what protoforms actually looked like since they were so heavily guarded. and they still are. so no kup wouldn't babysit

Guys, Sirius canonically did not care about the prank.
He shows ZERO remorse for what he did, I don’t know why this fandom absolutely adores absolving the marauders of their flaws, but it’s quite annoying. Sirius, canonically, did not care or feel remorse for what he did, he in fact justified what he did, and I love Sirius, he’s one of my favorites but come on, he sucked as a teenager, as did all the marauders.
I’ve also seen a lot, a LOT of people try to make Sirius’ actions come from a place of self defense, or some type of retaliation for something that Snape did but that’s also incorrect. His exact reasoning is(down below)
"It served him right," he sneered. "Sneaking around, trying to find out what we were up to... hoping he could get us expelled..." -Sirius in POA
After that Remus remarked that Sirius did it also because he found it amusing, and Sirius did not interject to disagree.
Also, a lot of people forget how important the prank was to James’ character, up until that moment James was to put it bluntly a complete dickhead to Snape, and vice versa sure but James was a dick, however he went out of his way to save him, and sure you could argue he did that for Remus more than Snape, but he still saved Snape. Diminishing the prank to just wolfstar angst is objectively incorrect.
Anyways, I still like “the prank” angst, but really guys, he did NOT care like at all. I also feel like there is so, SO much more angst potential with Sirius’ canonical feelings, rather than the angsty “it was a mistake” route that the majority of this fandom takes.

Baratheon Twins 𐂂 3 years apart
+ extra older designs that im still undecided on i think frey's is a bit too much lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
im still working out all of the finer details of the twins and their story.. it is more set in the GOT universe (non-canon compliant for the most part) than bg3 for now, i'll have to figure out that part,,, but for now I am mostly happy with it. It is still constantly evolving/changing though lol. Right now I am just having fun with their designs/personality over their full backstories/relationship dynamics.
One big change I made is that I've headcannoned that they had been born with the classic dark Baratheon hair, but as they age and discover more about their Targaryen blood ties, their hair progressively whitens, so that is why younger Freyja now has mostly dark hair with only a few white strands, similar to her brother!! I've also headcannoned that Frey's scales are more visible when he is near extreme heat for a prolonged amount of time, or uses his pyromancy abilities, which he learns more about as he gets older! these might be cringey or overused tropes,,, but I AT LEAST I AM FREE

It’s the questions that keep us going, that taunt us so we’ll come back again and again, whether we’re given any “definitive” answers which we might each interpret differently or left to wonder and imagine possibilities all on our own.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this, warrior nun.” Doesn’t this line invite us to ask who Adriel might be talking to, exactly?
Tumblr media
Of course Ava currently occupies the rank of warrior nun that gives the show its name… But we also know Ava is not a nun and that her qualification as a warrior is recent (setting aside the psychological fortitude she surely possesses as a survivor of the traumas that have shaped her past, to be sure). Even from his prison, Adriel was aware of the happenings in the outside world, be it from his connection to the divinium once used in his armour, be it thanks to informants such as Vincent in whatever modes of communication they might have had between them — so Adriel knows this, he knows of how unconventional it is for Ava to be the warrior nun. Isn’t it possible that, in this moment, he’s not talking to her, at least not as Ava Silva, the individual?
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this, warrior nun.” Only a couple of months have elapsed since Adriel has been freed of his tomb and made Ava’s direct acquaintance. Why would he make a reference to the millennium spent beneath the Vatican to her while calling her by her title rather than her name? It certainly cannot be a mention of those two months, as those are negligible in the conscience of an immortal being who has already waited a thousand years for reckoning.
He isn’t hinting at a vengeance against Ava Silva, as herself, even if she is the one standing in front of him in flesh and blood; he’s orchestrating a vengeance against “the warrior nun”, the abstract class of those responsible for his captivity in the first place.
It’s hard to say he necessarily sees Areala in Ava when he says “warrior nun”. Perhaps so, perhaps not. But he does seem to see in the current halo bearer an avatar of someone (or multiple “someones”) he intends to defeat, the echoes of the past embodied in a single woman, a vessel through which their voices may yet ring after they are long gone. Perhaps he can see more than any of us can — just as he sees the wraith demons and passes the ability on to Lilith, might it not be possible for him to see something else when he looks at Ava or, at least, in the direction of the halo?
Tumblr media
Could the halo, as once suggested to me by @ghostofcatscradle, carry some of its previous bearers’ “essence” — providing one explanation to Ava’s “meetings” with Shannon or Areala in season one — preserving some portion of them even as it inhabits another woman’s flesh? Could that be readily visible to a being of Adriel’s species and provenance, as the wraiths are?
Or could he think he saw something? Adriel is posed as a much more powerful creature than a human, with much more knowledge at his disposal. He mentions how no human can carry the halo for long before becoming somehow twisted — but what if there is truth in the reversed idea as well and his own long stay on Earth has warped him? Sometimes we find that those deemed “mad” are the most lucid, but would it be such a strange inversion to consider that this amazing being who boasts of his greater lucidity might be the greatest madman himself? He barely attempts to solve the contradictions so clear to Ava when she points out how his discourse of wanting to save the world from Reya's oppression is unaligned with his own forceful, violent methods of combat which cause suffering to the same creatures he claims to champion. Perhaps he comes from a pre- or post- logic realm. Perhaps he is insane. Maybe he is just a power-hungry sophist who will use whatever justification is at hand to legitimate his own selfish cause.
Tumblr media
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this, warrior nun.” Vindication, yes, but in what form? At the end of season one, Adriel sought to seize the halo, yank it out of Ava and be done with it. In season two, he wants a fight instead of just trying to reach for it and accomplish his goals. Yes, his plans concerning Reya had just been spoiled… But if he had been “waiting a long time”, then this battle is not about what just happened in regards to Reya and the ark. It’s ancient, it’s personal. It’s not just the halo anymore — was it ever?
When Ava resurrects, is that the halo’s doing? When Mother Superion is brought back to life, is that the halo’s handiwork? Could it be sentient as some like to hypothesise it is? Or, as an object said to have been stolen from Reya, is it accomplishing her mysterious will by manifesting such powers? Or could it be that the equivalence between Reya and God made by Michael after a lifetime under the former’s spell is not as true as he was led to believe and there might be another, grander, perhaps even will-less entity pulling the strings?
Or could it be that the miracle is not divine, but Ava’s? Perhaps not even just hers, but something available only to humans, that Suzanne might carry as well, something that recognised her as it recognised Ava while she was brought back. There are no records of the halo resurrecting people…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
… But it is said to give different bearers different powers. How or when does a bearer develop a new ability? Is there a limit to how many she can find and use? Might they not overlap sometimes?
Moreover, in an environment that firmly believes the halo is a weapon against its enemies, did anyone ever bother to ask whether it could do the opposite of slaughter, if it could be used for purposes unrelated to war against so-called Hell? It takes Jillian, an outsider to the Order, to voice that curiosity.
Tumblr media
For each possibility listed above as far as who is behind performing miracles, what accompanying conclusions might there be?
The halo as a sentient object seems to open less interesting consequences than a world where a higher force has confusing aims or is truly neutral and both favours and hampers the living; or one where even common people, even “freaks”, as Ava calls herself more than once, are capable of miracles, of changing their world given the right support and tools.
We don’t actually need hard, official answers.
It’s the suggestions, the maybes, the could bes that really hook us in — is it any wonder that the more dedicated avatrice shippers are so focused on the potential for that time period spent in Switzerland, off-camera, which we did not witness?
The questions are inexhaustible — even with just eighteen total episodes, even when there was yet so much to see. If we can keep asking questions, if we see the beauty in them and how much more enticing they can be compared to a creator’s answers or incomplete plans (Mary taking vows and replacing Superion, really?!), we’ll have perhaps even more on our plates than another season would have given us. Which isn’t to say we shouldn’t mourn the loss of a continuation but merely to duly cherish what we have effectively received and give it its due attention.
It’s what’s left unsaid or unexplained, it’s what even creators might say isn’t set in stone and still open for debate (such as the halo being sentient or not); the blanks, the doubts and possibilities are where we come in with our understanding or our own stories. Why? How? What if?
Keep finding questions to ask... And Warrior Nun lives on.

LINK CLICK QUESTION.
Where the hell did Cheng Xiaoshi grow up? Like, did he live with his parents in the photo studio, or did they live in a separate apartment?
I saw a post about episode one, where CXS said he grew up in the photo studio, which sounds like he LIVED there lived there but also it’s an ambiguous statement. He could’ve meant that he grew up there as in, he spent so much time there growing up it became his real home.
And is there even room for two adults and a child to live there?? CXS and LG literally have a bunk bed because there isn’t enough space…even assuming a decent sized bed could fit in that room, where would that have left CXS? The mysterious attic?
Please help I’m losing my mind.

I’m curious-
Am I the only one who draws and writes stuff that mainly starts or diverges from the first three seasons, rather than making them canon compliant with s4 and onwards?
I don’t know how to explain it but I feel like after episode Ladybug in s3, the canon story becomes very complex and heavy so it’s a little harder to come up with stuff that happens during then.
Like there’s too much going on at once.
Drawing is easier cos no thinking is required but writing is quite a challenge. That’s why I don’t write fics for medias that have a complex storyline because my brain would get overwhelmed easily lol.

the El I'm writing now is just a smidge too eloquent in the romance department. I tried to nudge her back towards canon and she wouldn't obey me. so she's allowed to be a little smooth because she's AI trained on romance movies alright

i think we as a fandom don't talk about dan and renee enough aftg hitlist anon. i understand that renison and mattdan (?) prevail but we need to look at the sheer potential in that one short story about dan's recruitment alone. the sports rivalry turned hatred. dan only getting recruited because wymack came to watch renee. the strip club. having to unite in the face of misogynists. do you see the vision. do u see the vision aftg hitlist anon.

I was thinking about your "I prefer to not be disturbed" fic.
Yeah! So the funny thing is! I always held “Kotoko really did plan on attacking Amane” as a dark little headcanon of mine, and snuck it into an earlier drabble (so I could include another hc I liked, that Orekoto stepped up to protect Amane but for several reasons didn’t get labeled a hero like Kazui).
Anyway, I loved the complexity that Kotoko believed in protecting the weak but had that capability in her, given the lines about not treating Amane differently because she’s a child, the parallels with Fuuta, etc. But when I actually sat down to write that drabble, any way I tried to spell it out just sounded so harsh :( I was like hm, I can’t just come out and say she would beat up a child it in plain words, plus that's probably not even canon, and that would only doom her to further villainization and hate! I’ll say she didn't want to hurt her in this drabble as Milgram intended, and when Deep Cover comes out, I’ll pay close attention to how they discuss her mindset :) I figured they'd kind of skirt around the topic of Amane specifically, leaving room for you to interpret it either way.
And. And then.
