we shouldn’t feel embarrassed for liking our favorite things. our favorite foods, books, movies, shows, hobbies, activities, games, clothes, etc. and we shouldn’t feel guilty for allowing ourselves to have time dedicated to those things either. life challenges us a number of times, and if these are the (harmless) little things that make life feel more bearable, then so be it. you deserve to do things for you. things that make you feel at peace and at home.

you know in Fullmetal Alchemist when Greed told his first and last lie to Ling to save his life and then when he said, “it’s more than enough. yup. I’m finally satisfied. I don’t want anything else. hah ha ha. see you around my friends of the soul,” and we were supposed to just not be emotionally damaged from that shit.

finally caught up with the sxf manga and bruh chapter 59 had me laughing so hard. lmao i love becky and her wild imagination.
Tumblr media
and then anya eventually HELPING becky get loid's attention because if becky was her mom she would have world class chefs 😭.
Tumblr media
also the fact that loid was so worried yor would get the wrong idea from becky's obsession with him was too funny.
Tumblr media
i would recommend anyone who enjoys sxf to just go read this. i wouldnt say it spoils anything really. it is just so funny and sweet LOL.

i think stating that Hohenheim abandoned his family is a gross over simplification of what really happened… and in my opinion, completely wrong (unless you purely look at it from Ed and Al's perspective prior to them figuring things out). i dont understand why a good amount of people dislike him, i am more so sad for him. he had such a traumatizing and rough life, until he finally met the love of his life and created a family with her. however, he still had responsibilities to attend to outside of that which clearly tormented him. he was never truly free until the very end. he did not leave his family out of selfishness, he left them out of pure selflessness. he left to do anything he could in order to prevent a future disaster. he scattered those souls. he fought so incredibly hard. but he always felt guilt. he always felt like a bad father and husband. he never felt like he deserved anything good. he was such a powerful alchemist but his sons were always his weakness. he would never hesitate to give his life for them. he was so proud of them. hearing Alex Armstrong speak so highly of them meant the world to him. the way he told Trisha at her grave about Ed finally referring to him as his father… he was happy. the way he told her that he actually wanted to live… HEARTBREAKING. i am so sad whenever i think about his life. he got the family he always wanted, but he almost wasn’t allowed to be selfish enough to take full advantage of it.

the many moments… when Twilight catches himself becoming too comfortable, enjoying his family life a little too much, considering how Yor and Anya will be affected by his actions, and getting a bit too attached to his role as Loid Forger… that cause him to snap himself back to reality and focus on the mission break my heart :(.
the man lost everything prior to becoming a spy. and now he has a family, and even though it’s fake, there are still so many real moments and feelings he experiences. i just want them all to be happy :').

you expect me to believe Twilight can just leave Yor, Anya, and Bond the way he has left every other identity of his? the way he left Karen? so suddenly and with no regard to her personal feelings? even if he does follow through with the mission, it won’t be easy for him. very happy they added this scene because it does a good job of contrasting how the Forger family makes him feel.

i will never get over chapter 77, 78, and 79 of csm. the way Fujimoto so poetically illustrated Aki's reality with the snowball fight. the emotion in Denji when Power breaks it to him that the scent in the doorway is Aki's, the moment Denji screams for Aki to turn back into himself, or when childhood Aki said he had never had this much fun before, when he told childhood Denji that he had never seen him cry before… it was beautiful. it was tragic. and it was honestly super fucked up… especially the atrocious person who caused this whole fucked up mess KNOWING Aki's past and devil hunting end goal. but that's what makes csm so well written. how Fujimoto led us up to the moment with hints about Denji and the door, the traumatic history of Aki's childhood and his past with the gun devil, and how we KNEW based on the conversation between the future devil and Aki that something was going to happen to Power and Aki but just didn’t know exactly how said thing would come to fruition… ugh it was done so well. SO well that it made me want to throw up while reading it.

why are people so mad about the pacing of csm? why does this shonen have to meet your standards in comparison to other shonens you watch/read? csm already barely meets the typical shonen criteria, which is a reason why the story is so compelling. in what reality would a situation like this actually have slow pacing? yes, this is fiction, but in my opinion, what makes it so believable in terms of the csm universe, is the fast pacing. as a reader/watcher, you are not witnessing Makima's plan from the very beginning. you are getting a glimpse of the very end of it. of course this is going to go fast. Makima is really only allowing the time she needs for her plan to work out, like giving Denji, Power, and Aki what minimum time they need to grow fond of each other… what extremely little time Denji needs to get a taste of his definition of luxury. she doesn’t need 200 chapters to manipulate highly vulnerable characters because, well, they are highly vulnerable. Fujimoto's pacing with a tragic story like this makes the reader realize how much lack of control these characters truly have. it so effortlessly makes you feel like you have no control as well.

you know throughout paramount war when Garp is trying to mentally balance his family and his role in the marines (leaning more towards his marine position)… it’s so interesting to me. how he chooses to sit next to Ace on the execution block but doesn’t do more than that. the way he feels troubled hearing about Luffy getting involved and attempts to prevent his interference. the way he sees what happens to Ace on the battlefield and tells Sengoku to hold him back or he will kill Sakazuki. how he accepts the beating and yelling from Dadan, who scolds him for always putting his job before his family. and furthermore, how he states his wishes to resign. this is not me saying Garp did right or wrong, or excusing anything. i also can not say that Garp had or did not have any regrets in that moment. the situation was troubling all around, but in my opinion, Oda did a good job at writing Garp's personal dilemma (even if it made me a little upset lol).
