We have to face the fact that Elizabeth hated piracy and left it for good. She wanted a peaceful life and that is exactly what she got.
We have to face the fact that Bruce Lorne Campbell (born June 22, 1958) is an American actor and moviemaker. He is known best for his role as Ash Williams in Sam Raimi's Evil Dead horror series, beginning with the short movie Within the Woods (1978). He has also featured in many low-budget cult movies such as Crimewave (1985), Maniac Cop (1988), Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat (1989), and Bubba Ho-Tep (2002).
Bruce Lorne Campbell[1] was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on June 22, 1958,[2] the son of advertising executive and college professor Charles Newton Campbell and homemaker Joanne Louise (née Pickens).[3] He is of English and Scottish ancestry,[1] and has an older brother named Don and an older half-brother named Michael.[4] His father was also an actor and director for local theater.[3] Campbell began acting and making short Super 8 movies with friends as a teenager. After meeting future moviemaker Sam Raimi while the two attended Wylie E. Groves High School, they became good friends and collaborators. Campbell attended Western Michigan University and continued to pursue an acting career.[5]
Campbell and Raimi collaborated with a 30-minute Super 8 version of the first Evil Dead movie, titled Within the Woods (1978), which was initially used to attract investors.[6] He and Raimi got together with family and friends to begin working on The Evil Dead (1981). While featuring as the protagonist, Campbell also participation with the production of the movie, receiving a co-executive producer credit. Raimi wrote, directed, and edited the movie, while Rob Tapert produced. After an endorsement by horror author Stephen King, the movie slowly began to receive attention and offers for distribution.[7] Four years after its original release, it became the most popular movie in the UK. It was then distributed in the United States, resulting in the sequels Evil Dead II (1987) and Army of Darkness (1992).[8]
Campbell was also drawn in the Marvel Zombie comics as his character, Ash Williams. He is featured in five comics, all in the series Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness. In them, he fights alongside the Marvel heroes against the heroes and people who have become zombies (deadites) while in search of the Necronomicon (Book of the Names of the Dead).[9] Campbell also played as Coach Boomer in the movie “Sky High”.
He has appeared in several of Raimi's movies other than the Evil Dead series, notably having cameo appearances in the director's Spider-Man film series.[10] Campbell also joined the cast of Raimi's movie Darkman[11] and The Quick and the Dead, though having no actual screen time in the latter movie's theatrical version.[12] In March 2022, Campbell was announced to have a cameo in Raimi's Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.[13]
Campbell often performs quirky roles, such as Elvis Presley for the movie Bubba Ho-Tep.[14] Along with Bubba Ho-Tep, he played a supporting role in Maniac Cop and Maniac Cop 2, and spoofed his career in the self-directed My Name is Bruce.[15]
Other mainstream movies for Campbell include supporting or featured roles in the Coen Brothers movie The Hudsucker Proxy, the Michael Crichton adaptation Congo, the movie version of McHale's Navy, Escape From L.A. (the sequel to John Carpenter's Escape From New York), the Jim Carrey drama The Majestic and the 2005 Disney movie Sky High.[16]
Campbell had a major voice role for the 2009 animated adaptation of the children's book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and a supporting voice role for Pixar's Cars 2.[17]
Campbell produced the 2013 remake of The Evil Dead, along with Raimi and Rob Tapert, appearing in the movie's post-credits scene in a cameo role with the expectation he would reprise that role in Army of Darkness 2.[18] The next year, the comedy metal band Psychostick released a song titled "Bruce Campbell" on their album IV: Revenge of the Vengeance that pays a comedic tribute to his past roles.
Campbell worked as an executive producer for the 2023 movie Evil Dead Rise.[19]
Other than cinema, Campbell has appeared in a number of television series. He featured in The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. a boisterous science fiction comedy western created by Jeffrey Boam and Carlton Cuse that played for one season.[20] He played a lawyer turned bounty hunter who was trying to hunt down John Bly, the man who killed his father. He featured in the television series Jack of All Trades, set on a fictional island occupied by the French in 1801. Campbell was also credited as co-executive producer, among others. The show was directed by Eric Gruendemann, and was produced by various people, including Sam Raimi.[21] The show was broadcast for two seasons, from 2000 to 2001. He had a recurring role as "Bill Church Jr." based upon the character of Morgan Edge from the Superman comics on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.[22]
From 1996 to 1997, Campbell was a recurring guest actor of the television series Ellen as Ed Billik, who becomes Ellen's boss when she sells her bookstore in season four.[23]
He is also known for his supporting role as the recurring character Autolycus ("King of Thieves") on both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, which reunited him with producer Rob Tapert.[24] Campbell played Hercules/Xena series producer Tapert in two episodes of Hercules set in the present.[25] He directed a number of episodes of Hercules and Xena, including the Hercules series finale.[26]
Campbell also obtained the main role of race car driver Hank Cooper for the Disney made-for-television remake of The Love Bug.[27]
Campbell had a critically acclaimed dramatic guest role as a grief-stricken detective seeking revenge for his father's murder in a two-part episode of the fourth season of Homicide: Life on the Street. Campbell later played the part of a bigamous demon in The X-Files episode "Terms of Endearment".[28] He also featured as Agent Jackman in the episode "Witch Way Now?" of the WB series Charmed, as well as playing a state police officer in an episode of the short-lived series American Gothic titled "Meet The Beetles".
Campbell co-featured in the television series Burn Notice, which was broadcast from 2007 to 2013 by USA Network. He portrayed Sam Axe, a beer-chugging, former Navy SEAL now working as an unlicensed private investigator and occasional mercenary with his old friend Michael Westen, the show's main character. When working undercover, his character frequently used the alias Chuck Finley, which Bruce later revealed was the name of one of his father's old co-workers.[29] Campbell was the star of a 2011 Burn Notice made-for-television prequel focusing on Sam's Navy SEAL career, titled Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe.[30]
In 2014, Campbell played Santa Claus for an episode of The Librarians. Campbell played Ronald Reagan in season 2 of the FX original series Fargo. More recently Campbell reprised his role as Ashley "Ash" Williams in Ash vs Evil Dead,[31] a series based upon the Evil Dead series that began his career. Ash vs Evil Dead began airing on Starz on October 31, 2015, and was renewed by the cable channel for second[32] and third seasons,[33] before being cancelled.[34]
In January 2019, Travel Channel announced a new version of the Ripley's Believe It or Not! reality series, with Campbell serving as host and executive producer. The 10-episode season debuted on June 9, 2019.[35]
Campbell is featured as a voice actor for several video games. He provides the voice of Ash in the four games based on the Evil Dead movies series: Evil Dead: Hail to the King, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick, Evil Dead: Regeneration and Evil Dead: The Game.[36] He also provided voice talent in other titles such as Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man,[37] and Dead by Daylight.[38]
He provided the voice of main character Jake Logan for the PC game, Tachyon: The Fringe, the voice of main character Jake Burton for the PlayStation game Broken Helix and the voice of Magnanimous for Megas XLR. Campbell voiced the pulp adventurer Lobster Johnson in Hellboy: The Science of Evil and has done voice-over work for the Codemaster's game Hei$t, a game which was announced on January 28, 2010 to have been "terminated". He also provided the voice of The Mayor for the 2009 movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, the voice of Rod "Torque" Redline in Cars 2, the voice of Himcules in the 2003 Nickelodeon TV series My Life as a Teenage Robot, and the voice of Fugax in the 2006 movie The Ant Bully.[37]
Despite the inclusion of his character "Ash Williams" in Telltale Games' Poker Night 2, Danny Webber voices the character in the game, instead of Bruce Campbell.[39]
He has a voice in the online MOBA game, Tome: Immortal Arena in 2014.[40] Campbell also provided voice-over and motion capture for Sgt. Lennox in the Exo Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.[41]
In addition to acting and occasionally directing, Campbell has become a writer, starting with an autobiography, If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor, published in June 2001.[42] The autobiography was a successful New York Times Best Seller.[43] It describes Campbell's career to date as an actor in low-budget movies and television, providing his insight into "Blue-Collar Hollywood".[42] The paperback version of the book adds details about the reactions of fans during book signings: "Whenever I do mainstream stuff, I think they're pseudo-interested, but they're still interested in seeing weirdo, offbeat stuff, and that's what I'm attracted to".[42]
Campbell's next book Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way was published on May 26, 2005. The book's plot involves him (depicted in a comical way) as the main character struggling to make it into the world of A-list movies.[44] He later recorded an audio play adaptation of Make Love with fellow Michigan actors, including longtime collaborator Ted Raimi. This radio drama was released by the independent label Rykodisc and spans 6 discs with a 6-hour running time.
In addition to his books, Campbell also wrote a column for X-Ray Magazine in 2001, an issue of the popular comic series The Hire, and comic book adaptations of his Man with the Screaming Brain. Most recently he wrote the introduction to Josh Becker's The Complete Guide to Low-Budget Feature Filmmaking.
In late 2016, Campbell announced that he would be releasing a third book, Hail to the Chin: Further Confessions of a B Movie Actor, which will detail his life from where If Chins Could Kill ended. Hail to the Chin was released in August 2017, and accompanied by a book tour across the United States and Europe.[45]
Campbell maintained a weblog on his official website, where he posted mainly about politics and the movie industry, though it has since been deleted.[46]
Since 2014, the Bruce Campbell Horror Film Festival, narrated and organized by Campbell, was held in the Muvico Theater in Rosemont, Illinois. The first festival was originally from August 21 to 25, 2014, presented by Wizard World, as part of the Chicago Comicon.[47] The second festival was from August 20 to 23, 2015, with guests Tom Holland and Eli Roth.[48] The third festival took place over four days in August 2016.[49] Guests of the event were Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert and Doug Benson.[50]
Campbell married Christine Deveau in 1983, and they had two children before divorcing in 1989. He met costume designer Ida Gearon while working on Mindwarp, and they were married in 1992.[51] They reside in Jacksonville, Oregon.[51]
Campbell is also ordained and has performed marriage ceremonies.[52]

Salman Rushdie loses sight in eye use of hand after brutal assault. Hes going to dwellThats the vital factor
Salman Rushdie’s agent says the writer has misplaced sight in a single eye and using a hand as he recovers from an assault from a person who rushed the stage at an August literary occasion in western New York, in response to a broadcast report. Literary agent Andrew Wylie informed the Spanish language newspaper El Pais in an article printed Saturday that Rushdie suffered three critical wounds to his neck and 15 extra wounds to his chest and torso within the assault that took away sight in a watch and left a hand incapacitated. Rushdie, 75, spent years in hiding after Iran’s Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a 1989 edict, a fatwa, calling for his dying after publication of his novel “The Satanic Verses,” which some Muslims take into account blasphemous. Over the previous 20 years, Rushdie has traveled freely. Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey, has been incarcerated after pleading not responsible to tried homicide and assault within the Aug. 12 assault on Rushdie as he was being launched on the Chautauqua Establishment, a rurally positioned heart 55 miles (89 kilometers) southwest of Buffalo that’s recognized for its summertime lecture collection. After the assault, Rushdie was handled at a Pennsylvania hospital, the place he was briefly placed on a ventilator to get well from what Wylie informed El Pais was a “brutal assault” that lower nerves to 1 arm. Wylie informed the newspaper he couldn’t say whether or not Rushdie remained in a hospital or talk about his whereabouts. “He’s going to dwell … That’s the vital factor,” Wylie mentioned. The assault was alongside the strains of what Rushie and his agent have thought was the “principal hazard … a random particular person popping out of nowhere and attacking,” Wylie informed El Pais. “So you may’t shield in opposition to it as a result of it’s completely sudden and illogical,” he mentioned. Wylie informed the newspaper it was like Beatles member John Lennon’s homicide. Lennon was shot to dying by Mark David Chapman exterior his Manhattan residence constructing Dec. 8, 1980, hours after the singer had signed an autograph for Chapman. In a jailhouse interview with The New York Submit, Matar mentioned he disliked Rushdie and praised Khomeini. Iran has denied involvement within the assault. Dear Mentalist fans, we present you The Mentalist Alphabet Challenge!
With this challenge, you are free to participate whenever you want, there’s no deadline!
The premise is that for each letter of the alphabet you must create one post based on the two given alternative prompts (of course, nothing stops you from covering both prompts). No skipping please!
You will notice that some themes are repeatable, this is in order to maximize your chances of covering all the themes you’d like. So, for example, if you want to cover the theme “Angela Ruskin” for letter A, you can still cover the “Teresa Lisbon” theme for letter T and so on. The post can be anything from gifs, edits or fanart. Let your creativity flow and make sure to tag #tmsource and #mentalistalphabetchallenge so that we don’t miss your edit.
A: Agent Teresa Lisbon / Angela Ruskin B: Blue Bird (6.22) / Blake Association C: CBI Team / Card Tricks D: Dennis Abbott / Devil’s Cherry (5.02) E: Erica Flynn / Every Rose Has Its Thorn (3.19) F: FBI Team / Fire and Brimstone (6.06) G: Grace Van Pelt / Goofs H: Hypnosis / Hightower I: Ice cream / Ice Man J: Jisbon / Jane's Couch K: Kimball Cho / Kim Fischer L: Lorelai Martins / Luther Wainwright M: Michelle Vega / Marcus Pike N: Nothing Gold Can Stay (7.10) / Nothing But Blue Skies (7.01) O: Orange Blossom Ice Cream (7.03) / O'Laughlin P: Patrick Jane / Pilot (1.01) Q: Quest for Vengeance / Quips R: Rigspelt / Red John S: Shenanigans / Sam Bosco T: Teresa Lisbon / Tyger Tyger U: U No Hoo / (CBI or FBI) Unit V: Virgil Minelli / Violets (6.16) W: Wayne Rigsby / Wylie X: Xoxo (hugs & kisses) / X Color Palette Y: (Little) Yellow House (7.07) / Young Patrick Z: Zzzz / Zodiac Signs

ONCE IN A LIFETIME
1930
Tumblr media
In 1929 Moss Hart accepts a job as social director in the Catskills and stages plays at the YMHA in Newark. Eventually. he takes the advice of his agent and writes a comedy, Once in a Lifetime, which deals with the early days of Hollywood films. Sam Harris agrees to produce it if George S. Kaufman will collaborate on the script and also direct. Kaufman consents, but the Atlantic City opening is a failure, and he considers quitting. It finally opens to rave reviews in New York City in September 1930, thus beginning the long-lasting Kaufman-Hart collaboration.
The cast included:
Playwright GEORGE S. KAUFMAN, in a rare acting role
HUGH O'CONNELL,
JEAN DIXON,
GRANT MILLS,
OSCAR POLK,
BLANCHE RING (replaced out-of-town by SPRING BYINGTON),
SALLY PHIPPS,
CLARA WARING,
OTIS SCHAEFER,
JANET CURRIE,
MARIE FERGUSON,
CHARLES MACK,
EUGENIE FRONTAI,
DOROTHY TALBOT,
EDWARD LOUD,
PAYSON CRANE,
FRANCES E. BRANDT,
MARC LOEBELL,
CHARLES HALTON,
LEONA MARICLE,
LOUIS CRUGER,
WILLIAM McFADDEN,
STANLEY FITZPATRICK,
EDWIN MILLS,
KEMPTON RACE,
GEORGE CASSELBURY,
BURTON MALLORY,
WALTER DREHER, JACK WILLIAMS,
JOHN O. HEWITT,
JANE BUCHANAN,
HAROLD GRAU,
VIRGINIA HAWKINS,
IRVING MORROW,
GRANVILLE BATES,
FRANCES THRESS,
KATHRYN WYLIE (replaced out-of-town by GEORGIA MacKINNON),
ROBERT RYDER,
MANNART KIPPEN (role eliminated out-of-town),
JENNIE FULD (role eliminated out-of-town)
ROBERT B. SINCLAIR (role eliminated out-of-town)
Tumblr media
The Atlantic City premiere was staged at Nixon’s Apollo Theatre in May 1930. Helen Hayes performed there in Clarence and The Golden Age in 1919. The theatre was also used as a dance hall in the 1920s. The front door was located on South New York Avenue but the side was along the world-famous Boardwalk. It was eventually converted to a cinema and was demolished in the 1970’s.
Tumblr media
In 1959, Moss Hart wrote an autobiographical book titled “Act One” which chronicled his out-of-town troubles with Once in a Lifetime.  The book was filmed in 1963 and staged in 2014. Hart wrote:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I never want to go any place where I can't get back to Broadway and 44th by midnight." ~ George S. Kaufman
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~ from “Moss Hart: A Prince of the Theatre” by Jared Brown
Tumblr media
The play then did a short stint at the Brighton Theatre in Brooklyn, a vaudeville house gone legit for the summer.
Tumblr media
After doctoring, the play continued it’s out-of-town tryouts in Philadelphia at the Lyric Theatre before tackling the Big Apple.
Tumblr media
Once in a Lifetime opened on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre on September 24, 1930 and ran for 305 performances. George Kaufman announced at the opening night curtain call that "80% of this show is Moss Hart."
Tumblr media
It was filmed in 1932, by Universal starring Jack Oakie, Sidney Fox, Louise Fazenda, Aline MacMahon, and Zasu Pitts.
Tumblr media
The show's immense size kept it from being revived for many years (20 men,19 women, plus extras; 5 sets), until the Royal Shakespeare Company produced a smash revival in 1977. A 1978 Broadway revival at Circle in the Square restored the show's reputation in the States and many repertory theaters have produced it since. In the winter of 2005, London's National Theatre produced a first-class revival.

3x05: Bedtime Stories
Then:
Tumblr media
John’s dead, the Colt exists, and Dean’s going to Hell
Now:
In a housing development in NY, three brothers argue over building materials and windy weather conditions. One brother falls victim to the blood cannon, and then another does. A third hides behind cinder block and thinks he’s safe --but he’s not!
On a lonely road, the brothers have a particularly heated brother moment. Sam insists on calling a crossroads demon now that they have the Colt. Dean refuses. Dean doesn’t CARE if he dies. He only cares that if they mess with the deal, Sam dies. He’s not going to let that happen. Dean changes the VERY HEATED subject to ask about the case of the week. Sam doesn’t have much, but all signs point to werewolves.
Detective Plant and Page interview the last brother standing. He’s in the hospital and is expecting the sketch artist to take down his account of the assailant. Dean leans into it and tasks Sam with the sketching duties. Sam gets to drawing.
Tumblr media
The brothers are asking seriously leading questions, but the dude doesn’t have anything supernatural to add. It was a normal dude. His brother(s) are dead. He asks Sam, “How would you feel?” OOOOOOFFFFF.
The moment ends with a little levity when the guy asks to see the sketch.
Tumblr media
(The little tattoo of the Wylie E Coyote SLAYS ME.)
The brothers rule or werewolves and demons.
On a nature hike gone wrong, a couple, lost in the woods, stumble upon a gingerbread house of glory. They’re SAVED! A kind old lady greets them and offers them hospitality. They agree to come inside and rest a bit.
They stay for a bit of poisoned pie and disembowelment. YUM.
Tumblr media
A young girl watches from the window as the couple enjoys its own demise.
Sam and Dean head to the hospital to interview the wife, who somehow survived the witch’s slaughter. Ted Beneke The doctor who oversaw the last survivor is there trying to comfort the woman.
Sam and Dean ask the woman about what happened. It appears that she didn’t eat as much and while the witch was carving up her husband, she was able to push the old lady and kill her. The woman asks about a little girl. The woman describes the girl, and I presume Sam sketches her.
At the old lady’s house, the EMF is going crazy. Sam posits that they’re maybe dealing with fairy tales. The original Grimm Brothers didn't tell happy ever after stories. What’s the deal with the ghost though?
Time for research.
Tumblr media
Dean spent 6 HOURS at the library and came up with nada. While they talk about the implausibility of the case, they walk and stumble upon a frog in the road.
Tumblr media
Sam notices a house with a pumpkin and a mouse and thinks of Cinderella. Dean gets a little gross and accuses Sam of being gay. Dude, LET it GO. Cool, confident Sam doesn’t give a shit, and they head to investigate.
With guns drawn, they scour the house. They find a young woman chained to the oven. She tells them her step-mother went crazy and beat and chained her up. Dean notices and alerts Sam to the little girl watching them.
Dean follows her only to have her disappear, leaving an apple behind.
Tumblr media
Dean and Sam unpack the symbolism to conclude that they’re staring down the barrel of a Snow White myth. (Dean saw the porn version.) Sam thinks that the little girl spirit is leading them to her sleeping (real) body. I crack Sixth Sense jokes to myself.
At the hospital, a nurse who’s never heard of health information privacy reveals that there are no comatose little girls there, but there is “Callie” - the comatose daughter of the doctor we met before. She’s been in a coma for years.
Cut to the doctor reading Little Red Riding Hood to his blushing, non-intubated(???) daughter. While he reads the story, an elderly woman gets carjacked at the supermarket while the young girl looks on.
Tumblr media
Sam and Dean catch the end of the fairy tale and grill the doctor using their patented Winchester puppy-dog-eye power. The doctor reveals that Callie was brought in at the age of 8 after swallowing bleach. His wife - her stepmother - was the one who found her. Now, the stepmother’s dead and the doctor is all alone...
Tumblr media
I swear it’s been at least a couple years since I’ve seen this episode...but Dean then brings up Sixth Sense five minutes after I invoke the movie’s name - and the plot line of the ghost trying to tell about her killer. I’m forced to high five Dean over his Shyamalan reference. They speculate that Callie’s ghost has been marinating in a mix of vengeance and Grimm for years now. They conclude that it would PROBABLY be pretty uncool to burn Callie’s comatose body. Glad these two have their heads on right.
Just then the carjacked granny gets rushed into the Emergency Room. She perishes from savage wounds - like those of a wild dog. Sam and Dean flash their badges at the EMT and get the address of her granddaughter. Sam stays behind to try to help Callie while Dean promises to “stop the Big Bad Wolf.”
Sam corners Doctor Garrison and tells him that his wife poisoned Callie.
Tumblr media
And now Callie is hanging around as a spirit driving people to commit gruesome murders. The doctor looks at his daughter sorrowfully and then SHOCKS us all by revealing that he’s seen Callie’s spirit as well.
Meanwhile, Dean breaks down the door of the grandma’s house. He finds the terrified little girl and immediately starts fighting with the Big Bad Wolf and it clicks for me: OOOOOH RIGHT, Dean is the huntsman in this story.
Sam tells Doctor Garrison that Callie has been trying to reach him - if he only listens to her he can help her to move on.
Meanwhile, back at grandma’s…
Tumblr media
Dean gets the tar beaten out of him while the ghost looks on. Doctor Garrison’s voice ripples into the scene, and Callie’s ghost pops back to the hospital. She confirms the story about her poisoning. He asks her to stop killing people and promises to let her go. The monitors flatline in the room as Callie moves on.
At the house, the Big Bad Wolf suddenly snaps out of it. He doesn’t know where he is or what’s happening. Way to go screwing this dude for life, Callie.
Later, the doctor recaps the plot; the kidnapped granddaughter is okay and everyone seems to be acting normally again. He tells the Winchesters that he should have let Callie go a long time ago. Dean looks pointedly at Sam.
Tumblr media
Sam and Dean lob emo puppy eyes at each other over Dean’s impending demise. Later, Dean tosses and turns in his motel bed.
For Sleeping Beauty Science:
Tumblr media
Sam packs up a bag and heads out the door. SAMMY PLZ. He buries a box at the crossroads and when the crossroads demon appears, he pulls the Colt on her. If she doesn’t drop Dean’s deal, he’s going to kill her.
Tumblr media
She laughs at his posturing. “Aren’t you tired of cleaning up Dean’s messes?” If Dean’s gone, then Sam is FREE, after all. (I hiss once again at the finale.) And anyway, she can’t nullify Dean’s contract because her boss really REALLY wants it for himself. Sam swallows moodily, then shoots her and watches her spark out. Sam, sweetie. Please work on using your words.
Once Upon a Quote:
I tell you one thing, there's no way I'm kissing a damn frog
Hey, you know fairy tales, I know movies
Aren't you tired of cleaning up Dean's messes? Of dealing with that broken psyche of his?

MARY ISOBEL BYRNE AINSWORTH + FAMILY .
JAMES AINSWORTH ( michael ealy ) - 37 anos.
CAITRIONA BYRNE AINSWORTH ( tyra banks ) - 37 anos.
CORALINE BYRNE ( ludmilla ) - 25 anos.
MARY ISOBEL, MELISSA & MICHAEL JOHN “MJ” BYRNE AINSWORTH ( alisha boe & jacob artist ) - 18 anos.
DANIELLE BYRNE AINSWORTH ( sofia wylie ) - 15 anos.
ALBERT JOHN AINSWORTH II ( darius marcell ) - 13 anos.
DELILAH BYRNE AINSWORTH ( hayley leblanc ) - 13 anos.
ANTHONY BYRNE AINSWORTH ( thomas bair ) - 9 anos.

Storia di Musica #79 - Echo & The Bunnymen, Crocodiles, 1980

Monsters of the 20th Century
I had this odd notion.  A (brief) analysis of the origin of various supernatural creatures, as I wondered what ‘new’ monsters/supernatural beings had been created in the 20th century (roughly).   I’ve completed some of the research, and I’d like to share it with you all.  I’m also gonna tag @tyrantisterror because he is one of the more knowledgable people about monsters I know about on tumblr and I’m sure he can correct me a bunch in this!
1. Frankenstein - 1817 - The oldest literary monster and outgrowth of the concept of the Homunculus and Golem as an artificial being.  So pervasive is its reach, western ideas of Tulpa are tainted by it (every time you read about a tulpa ‘going out of control’, that is the influence of Frankenstein).
2. Dinosaurs - The Dragons of the age of science entered pop culture in 1854 at the latest with the opening of the Crystal Palace Park.  Other prehistoric animals had captured people’s imagination before, and they didn’t start to enter fiction until 1864 (”Journey to the Center of the Earth”) and a short story by C. J. Cutliffe Hyne had an ancient crocodilian in his story “The Lizard” (1898).  Ann early Lost World style adventure, “A Strange Manuscript Found in a Copper Cylinder” by James De Mille in 1888 has the first true dinosaurs in them.  There, Antarctica has a warm spot where prehistoric monsters and a death cult lurk.  In 1901, Frank Mackenzie Savile’s “Beyond the Great South Wall” had a Carnivorous Brontosaurs worshiped by Mayan remnants.  “Panic in Paris” by Jules Lermina had dinosaurs attack a city, but it was published first in France so few saw it.  Finally, we have Conan Doyle in 1912 with “The Lost World” which solidified dinosaurs as a thing in fiction.
3. The Evolved Man/Mutants - After “The Origin of Species” is published, it wasn’t long until Evolved Men or Mutants started showing up in fiction. “The Coming Race” and (1871), “The Great Romance” (1881).   They are generally big-headed and often have ESP of some sort.  In “Media: A Tale of the Future” (1891), they can control electricity too. It wasn’t until 1928 (”The Metal Man” by Jack Williamson) that Radiation was thrown in as a cause for Mutation.  Cosmic Rays would follow in “The Man Who Evolved” by Edmond Hamilton (1931).  After that, we have “Gladiator” by Philip Gordon Wylie (1930) where we have an engineered “Evolved Man”, and “Odd John” by Olaf Stapeldon which grants us the term “Homo superior” followed by “Slan” by A.E. van Vogt which has Evolved Humans as a persecuted minority.   And with that, everything that makes the X-Men what they are is collected.
3. Man-Eating Tree - First reported in 1874, the idea of man-eating plants grew since then to encompase many monsters, but started as Folklore about ‘Darkest Africa” (Madagascar) in the New York World.  They’d print anything back then.
4. Hyde - While it is tempting to link him to Freudian Psychology, Freud did not publish his work regarding things like the Id until much later (he didn’t even coin “Psychoanalysis” until 1896).  What is springs from, I currently cannot say without more research.
4. Robot - Though there were automata since the days of the Greeks (Talos), the first Robot in modern fiction is from “The Future Eve” by Auguste Villiers de I’lsle Adam (1886).  THough the term Robot is not invented until 1920 with “Rossum’s Universal Robots.”  They definitely offshoot from Frankenstein, but with a more mechanical bent.
5. The Grey Alien - The modern idea of an Alien has it’s first antecedents in the 1800s.  Specifically with the essay “Man of the Year 1,000,000″ by H. G. Wells (1892-1893). He speculates what humans will evolve into, and basically invites the Gray by accident.  It wouldn’t achieve it’s alien attachments until much later.
6. Morlocks - With the Evolved Man, there is also the ‘Devolved Man’.  That is what the Morlocks are. They are, as the name implies, tied to Well’s “The Time Machine” (1895), and the word has become a catch-all for subterranean monster-men, be they Mole People, CHUDs, or straight up Demons (’GvsE’).
7. The Martians & Their War Machines - The First Alien Invader, and the first Mecha can be traced to “War of the Worlds” by H.G. Wells, 1897.  Not much more to say as far as I’m aware.
8. The Mummy - The 1800s saw an Egyptian craze in England, leading to some really nasty habits (google “Mummy Powder” if you need ipecac).  1827 saw “The Mummy!: Or, a Tale of the Twenty-Second Century” which is more a bit of futurism with an ancient protagonist.  Though “Lost in the Pyramid” (1868) by Louisa May Alcott predates it, it is overshadowed by Conan Doyle’s horror story “Lot No. 249″ (1892) which has the classically animated mummy going out and killing people under control of another.  The former is a “Curse” story rather than a monster.
9. Cordyceps - Everyone these days knows the Cordyceps fungus as a great source for making zombies, and I’m lumping that fungus in with these other monsters because, well, fungus’ that take over humans is a monster of the 20th century.  Best known for Toho’s film adaptation “Matango” (1963), it is inspired by a short story from 1907 by William Hope Hodgson called “The Voice in the Night”.  There, the poor victim doesn’t realize they’ve completely become a fungus monster, acting as a warning for those near the island.
10. Aerofauna - Conan Doyle strikes again with “The Horror of the Heights” (1912).  A pretty tight little horror story of a whole ecosystem high above our heads in the clouds.  Many a sky tentacle owes its existence to this one.
11. Lich - Possibly derived from Kosechi the Deathless of Russian folklore, the idea of undead sorcerers became a staple of the works of Robert E. Howard, H.P. Lovecraft, and Clark Ashton Smyth, dating back to 1929.  Though Gary Gigax coined the idea together for D&D and based it on Gardner Fox’s “The Sword of the Sorcerer (1969)
12. Bigfoot and The Loch Ness Monster - I lump these cryptids together, because (thanks to a ton of research by Daren Naish, Daniel Loxton,  Donald R. Prothero, and others) we can trace them back to the same source: King Kong (1933).  The idea of prehistoric animals being out in the world in hidden places goes back to Conan Doyle’s “Lost World” (1912), but Kong made it widely popular.  And between the giant ape and the Brontosaurus attack (and the timing of sightings picking up), we can blame Kong for this.
13. The Great Old Ones - Lovecraft’s primary contribution to fiction first appear in “The Call of Cthulhu” (1926) and expand upon from here.  As near as I can tell, he made a LOT of monsters.  These include “Ancient Aliens” & Shoggoths (1936 - “At the Mountains of Madness”), Gillmen (1931 - ”The Shadow over Innsmouth”), & The Colour Out of Space (1927).  14. The Thing - The Ultimate Shapeshifter.  It first appears in 1938′s “Who Goes There” by John W. Campbell, Jr.  Though Campbell's square-jawed heroes literally tear the Thing to bits, it reached its zenith of horror in adaptation.  I can think of no earlier shapeshifting humanoids of such variety at an earlier time, or of such fecundity.
15. The Amazons - The Amazons do indeed come from Ancient Greece, but it was a way for the Greeks to rag on Women.  It wasn’t until later that women co-opted the image of the Amazons as a source of empowerment, and that was codified in 1942 with one character: Wonder Woman. She helped spark the Amazons further into the culture, or at least, Amazon women who have superpowers (as they did in those early stories).  From there, we get a more recent direct descendant that was part of the reason I started this list: Slayers from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
16. The Hobbit - Though ideas of ‘Wee Folk” are part of worldwide Folklore, Tolkien took them out of the realm of Faerie, and made them... idyllic middle-class Englishmen with his 1937 book of the same name.  With the Lord of the Rings following in 1954-1955.  His works also gave us other monsters and supernatural beings: Orcs, Ents, & Balrogs.
17. Gremlins - An Evolution of the wee folk once again, this time adapted for the mechanical era and of a more malicious bent. It became slang in the 1920s, with the earliest print source being from 1929.   They were popularized by Roald Dahl in”The Gremlins” (1942).  Later they were used to vex Bugs Bunny (1943′s “Falling Hare”), and then they got their own movies in the 1980s.  The rest is history.
18. Triffids - There are a LOT of fictional plants out there, and a lot of carnivorous ones, but the Triffids were the first to be extremely active in their pursuit of prey.  From 1952′s “Day of the Triffids” by John Wyndham, the story is a keen example of the ‘Cozy Apocalypse’ common in British Fiction, sort of like the whole ‘schoolboys on a desert island make well of it’ thing that “Lord of the Flies” railed against. This paved the way for everything from Audrey II to Biollante.
19. Kaiju - 1954.  You know what this is.  Between Primordial Gods and Modern Technology, the Kaiju are born.  The difference between a Kaiju and a Giant Monster is a complex nuanced one, sort of like what makes film noir. But, in general, if the story has Anti-War, Anti-Nationalist, and/or Anti-Corporate Greed leanings, it’s probably a Kaiju movie.  If not, then it probably isn’t.
20. The Body Snatchers - Another horror of 1954 from the novel “The Body Snatchers” (1955), which includes aspects that the movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” did not.  Like that the Duplicates only last 5 years and basically exist to wipe out sentient beings with each planet they infest.  Clearly drawing from the idea of the Doppelganger, these Pod People have evolved into a new form.
21. The Blob - That 1958 movie has one catchy theme song.  The whole thing was inspired by an instance of “Star Jelly” in Pennsylvania, circa 1950.  It was tempting to shift this under the Shoggoth, but I think they are distinct enough.
22. Gargoyles - Longtime architectural embellishments, they did not become their own “Being” until 1971 with “The Living Gargoyle” published in Nightmare #6.  The TV Movie “Gargoyles” came soon after in 1972, firmly establishing the monster.  Though it was likely perfected in the TV Series “Gargoyles” (1994).
23. D&D - From 1973 Through 1977, D&D was formulated and many of its key monsters were invented.  Partly as mechanics ways to screw with players and keep things lively.  This brought us Rust Monsters (1973), Mindflayer (1974), Beholder (1975), and the Gelatinous Cube (1977).
24. The Xenomorph - Parasitoid breeding is applied to humans to wonderfully horrible effect in the 1979 film “Alien”.  It became iconic as soon as it appeared.
25. Slasher - The first slasher film is often considered to be ‘Psycho’ (though the Universal Mummy films beyond the first prototype the formula).  The idea of an undead revenant coming back to kill rather randomly started in the film “The Fog” (1980), but was codified by Jason Voorhees in either 1984 or 1986.   I am no expert on this one, though, so I am not fully certain.
26. The Dream Killer - Freddy Krueger first appeared as a killer in dreams in 1981, but there were other dream killers before him.  They could only kill with extreme fear, though.  Freddy got physical!  I think.  Again, more research is needed.
27. Chupacabras - This is another cryptid inspired by a movie.  In this case, “Species” (1995). No, really.  This is what it comes from.   I know a lot of these are really short down the line, but the research for this one is thorough and concise!
28. Slender Man - The Boogieman for the Internet Age.  An icon of Creepypastas and emblem of them.
Needs More Research: The Crow/Heroic Longer-Term Revenants, Immortals as a “Group” (might go to Gulliver's Travels, but I’m trying to track Highlander here) are also on the list, but they are proving extremely difficult to research, so I thought I’d post what I have at the moment.  Shinigami might also be on the list since they are syncretic adoption of the Grim Reaper into something more.
