Kind of funny. SPN was supposed to end in s5, with Sam in Hell, Cas in Heaven, and Dean on Earth, living with a wife and a son. But it ends after ten more season later with Cas in superhell, Dean in Heaven, and Sam on Earth, living with a wife and a son. Like some fucked up game of musical chairs. Except the chairs are never taken, the song remains the same, and they’re just going in circles. Anyways, Happy November 19th.

Oh, this moment on the Jensen and Rob panel at Jib14 made me so happy.

Jensen: If every time they hurt Dean, they hit his heart, they hit his chest?…Oh like a heart attack? Gosh I’ve never thought about that. That’s a really interesting like…pick up. Maybe. That’s a writer question, that’s a good question. That was never something that was conveyed to me, that was never something that was told to me, that we’re going to attack Dean’s heart the most and it’s because he’s got the biggest heart. But it’s a really good kind of perception or perspective on the story and I think it might have been one of those happy accidents that it happened that way, maybe subconsciously to the writers and probably subconsciously to me, if you want to get Dean, that’s where you get him. And it makes sense….thank you…now I’m going to think about that for the rest of the day! Thanks a lot! Rob: That was like poetry. Jensen: That was beautiful.

Although, I doubt it wasn't on purpose on the part of the writers--we've seen the symmetry on spn, we've seen how it rhymes. Although I'm sure there are a few things where they'd do it the first time, and then realize how that came across symbolically, and then keep leaning into it, because that's how creative process sometimes work. (Just saying, fandom leans way too hard into the assumption everything good on spn was accidental instead of understanding, no it wasn't, but accidents are part of the creative process, too). There's deliberate reasons Death went for Dean's heart in 15.18, for example.

Anyway I appreciate Jensen's comment here and the fan's analysis and Jensen's appreciation of their analysis and Jensen's idea that it was subconsciously in his own mind even if he didn't think about it that way himself before. Because Dean has a really big heart, and "if you want to get to Dean, that's where you get him." Bingo.

LOL poor Jensen caught Dean feelings. His faux grumpiness about it absolutely sent me. Yes, same Jensen. We do this to each other in fandom all the time. Now I've caught Dean feelings too, thanks a lot Jensen, now I'm going to think about this for the rest of the evening!!! And I'm going to spread the Dean feelings just by making this post!!! Jensen has to suffer Dean feelings, so do we!!!

I truly love the fact that Jensen loves Dean so much. It’s amazing seeing actors love a character as much as we do.

But what I don’t love, is I feel like he has tunnel vision with Dean. He’s so caught up in the way that he’s intending to portray the character when he acts, that he disregards the way it’s actually being perceived by the audience, as if his intention is all that matters.

Like yeah, I get that you didn’t “play him that way [as in love with Cas]” But art is subjective and interpretive and regardless of what you intended, your audience is telling you that Dean is reading as very much in love with Castiel.

Also, your acting isn’t the only factor here. It’s the music choices, the cinematography, the setting, the editing, the writing. It is the result of everything. You not “playing him that way” does not have more weight than all of these things put together.

sometimes you watch late seasons supernatural and you're like yeah okay the colours are bright and i feel no fear and the only person trying is jensen ackles. other times you watch late seasons supernatural and you are vibrating in your fucking seat because dean winchester says something as insane as i'm furious. to know that all my life, i've been nothing but a hamster in a wheel, stuck in a story. and it ain't just me. we're all trapped. sam and cas and jack and even you. and he's saying it to god's sister as she's paying the bill in a shitty restaurant

The number of Soldier Boy apologists who are mad at the season three ending bc everyone "turned on him for no reason" will never cease to amaze me. They are honest to God calling Butcher a traitor for stopping him from killing child 😭

The whole point of the finale is that Soldier Boy is WORSE than Homelander, how could y'all miss that???

god the spn fandom makes me so tired.

look, people are gonna shit on this post saying that i should just leave if i don’t like it. the thing is, fandom should be a space where people can be themselves and talk about this thing they like. they shouldn’t be so frustrated by the people in the fandom that they have to leave.

we have different opinions. we have different thoughts and feelings concerning the show and the actors and the writers.

and that’s fine. having different opinions and discussing those different opinions is good and healthy for fandom as a whole. we should be able to have these open discussions without snipes and jibes towards each other. open discussion is healthy and good.

but recently i’ve seen a lot more of people harassing others with different opinions, insulting them, and this actually gets very personal at points.

i can’t believe i have to say this, but no matter what, harassing people is not okay. if you don’t like them, don’t engage.

and if you do harass someone else, they have a right to call you out. they have a right to defend themselves. everyone from fanartists to fanfic writers to just normal bloggers. if you harass them, don’t expect them to take that shit lying down.

also, don’t harass actors. if you don’t like them, post about it, but don’t directly harass them. that’s not cool, not chill. it’s stalkerish and weird.

but the spn fandom is so toxic and full of all this bullshit. it’s stupid and unnecessary. it feels like high school drama just with adults. it’s infuriating.
