1. How many works do you have on Ao3? 29

2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 230,379

3. What fandoms do you write for? I've written the most for The Rookie. I've also dabbled in: The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Avengers, Community, and Miss Scarlet and the Duke.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Lots of Chenford up in here...

5. Do you respond to comments?

I do! It's really important to me to respond to anyone who takes the time to leave a comment. That reciprocal appreciation is a really vital part of fandom for me.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmmm...probably Let Me Tell You a Story About War, which adds further angst to the canonically angsty ending for Clint and Natasha in Avengers: Endgame.

But all of my Gale-centric Hunger Games fics are suitably angsty too. 😅

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I Can’t Help Myself is ooey gooey sweet. Let Me Name the Stars for You isn't sweet in the same way, but giving Gale and Johanna a happy ending still warms my heart.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not really. I have found most people in my fandoms to be very kind and considerate.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

"Yup... the horny kind?"

Lana, I LOL'ed. That pretty much sums it up. I had Chenford banging in closets and on tables and in cars and in bar bathrooms! Very satisfying for all, I hope.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No. They aren't really my thing.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I think someone asked me if they could translate Let Me Name the Stars for You many years ago, but I'm not sure I ever saw the finished translation.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! Want You to Stay with the amazing @cfr749. The collaboration brought me so much joy, taught me so much about writing with someone else, and helped me push through some major writing block. Lana is an amazing friend and we need to write something together again!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

I can never choose a favorite, so I'll say that my favorite ships that I never finished fic for are Dan/Blair and Jonsa. I have quarter-written fics for each pairing somewhere in my notes and google docs.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The one I currently have rattling around in my brain where Miss Scarlet and the Duke's William and Eliza try out a Victorian friends with benefits thing. 😅

16. What are your writing strengths?

This is too loaded of a question. Hmmm...I think I write humor and banter-laced-with-feelings well.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I don't love writing climactic love confession moments, and I think it shows. I think I could let my characters be sappier sometimes. I also don't write action very well! Muddling my way through the gas station hostage crisis (LOL) in Want You To Stay was a STRUGGLE.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I would want a native speaker to review before publishing.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

First fandom I wrote for (but never published) was General Hospital. Jason & Robin 4eva. 😂

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Let Me Name the Stars for You. It's a quiet little thing that covers a lot of emotional ground in not that many words, and I really love exploring how broken people find ways to put themselves back together again.

I also loved some of the moments I created for Hermione in Could You Leave Me With a Scar?

Jeff losing his mind, post-canon, what else is new - I really love post-canon Community fics that center Jeff and Annie and this one is off to a great start!! Its inspired by another one of my favorite Jeff/Annie fics, Everybody Knows, in which they both focus on Jeff trying to cope with being alone for the first time in 6 years and the fact that there was still so much left unfinished between him and Annie at the end of the series. I'm terrified the upcoming movie is going to absolutely obliterate all my headcanons so I need to read as many of these types of fics as possible before that happens :)

I may or may not have written my first fanfic and it may or may not be good, but I like it. I think I executed my vision almost perfectly. I hope y'all like it :3

"If we were to move our meetings to 4:30-" Annie explains to the group.

"No!" Both Troy and Britta shout.

"I have a regular class at that time. It's like math or other regular classes," Troy says to us, visibly nervous, but no one else is better than reading Troy than I am. They don't notice.

"Yeah, I have something unimportant that can't ever move," Britta agrees. I notice Troy starts breathing harder and is sweating a bit. I know what class he's talking about, he dances. Britta is quick to agree and shuts Annie down too. She must be dancing too. I became aware of Troy's dancing weeks ago when he left his schedule laying around and once forgot to change out of his clothes and tried to convince me they were for football. I let him believe I accepted his lie but I felt bad for him. I suspect it's more than just dancing, but it's not my place to pry, and I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable. The group almost figuring out he dances, though, seems to have put him on the verge of a panic attack. I don't want him to feel like that.

Since we can't move the group's meeting time, we decide to vote on Pierce letting us in at the door. The mention of his name makes everyone grow concerned, he hasn't arrived yet. We all start mourning him until he walks in the door.

Pierce whines about us pretending to be concerned for him but really hoping he's dead and Jeff once again reveals another woman he's sleeping with, and the group disperses.

I take note of Britta dancing too and how scared Troy was, so I ask Britta to stay behind while the group goes.

"Sure, Abed. What's up?" She asks.

"I know Troy takes a dancing class and based on how you both reacted, I know you do too," I tell her.

"What? Psh, no, I don't dance. I DEFINITELY do not tap dance, where'd you hear that from? Wait, is this about Troy? Abed, he's your best friend you can't be homophobic to him, not cool man," She says and rambles on.

"I've known about Troy dancing for a while and it doesn't bother me. He seems really scared about the group finding out and now that I know you dance too, can you help him out? Just try to convince him that it's okay and we all support him," I tell her.

"Aw, Abed, that is so sweet. I'm glad you care about him. I didn't know he was scared about coming out. I'll help you, Abed. Oo, maybe I can accidentally run into him after class and convince him to come out with me to the group."

"Thank you, and don't make it obvious I sent you to do this. I don't want him to feel trapped or forced," I say.

"Don't worry Abed, I got this."

I haven't had the chance to see Britta or Troy since I spoke to her. I hope Britta didn't Britta her talk with Troy and that he's doing alright. It's our study time again, but the door is locked. Who could've guessed? We're all here waiting, except for Jeff. He's inside, making out with Professor Slater.

"Hey! Could you open the back door?" Pierce shouts. They look at us in shock.

They let us inside, and Jeff introduces us to Michelle. She likes macaroni and cheese like I do so I guess she's nice. Once she leaves, Britta takes the opportunity to tell everyone about her and Troy dancing.

She grabs his hand and says "Hey, everyone, speaking of secrets, Troy and I have something we'd like to announce." Annie gasps in shock.

"No, no," Britta continues. I suspect that Annie has much less of a chance with Troy than she thinks, for reasons I won't say.

"There is a dance recital on Friday, and I would be honored if you guys would attend. Because since last semester, I have been taking a tap class." She gives Troy a reassuring look. The group points out the irony of an emotionally closed off person like her taking dance classes. Shirley asks Troy about his secret and he looks even more scared than before.

"My secret is that I knew Britta's secret," Troy says. He doubles down on the lie and makes fun of Britta dancing, and then the Dean comes in, having seen Pierce's tweet about Jeff and Slater's relationship. The group leaves and normally I would hang back and walk with Troy, but I let Britta stay with him to talk about what happened. I haven't talked with him much lately. I hope he doesn't think it's related to him dancing, although it is.

Later, Britta finds me sitting outside and updates me on the Troy situation.

"He dropped out of the dance! I don't know how I'm gonna do this, Abed. He's really scared, and I don't know how to help him without revealing our plan. Maybe you should talk to him," She says to me.

"No, I don't know how to help either. If he knows this was a plan he'll lose all trust in me. This needs to be a decision he makes on his own. Let him be, and we'll all he there cheering you on at your show, Britta."

Britta's show has started, and it's an endless match between Pierce's complaints and Shirley's shushing. Britta's performance is very underwhelming and she starts to clam up. I follow her gaze and notice Jeff and Slater holding hands. She claims to not be in love with him but she's so bad at hiding her feelings that even I can read them.

Just as I had partially expected, Troy comes on stage to assit Britta. I expected it because it'd be the exact thing to happen on TV, the very masculine man coming on stage last minute to redeem himself and save the damsel in distress. But I didn't expect it because from what Britta said, he was really adamant about not dancing. I'm glad he came.

The performance is over, and Britta and Troy nailed it. Especially Troy. I tell them both they were great and wait for Troy to be alone. I want to come clean with him now that he completed his performance.

"Hey, Troy, can we talk?" I ask him

"Yeah man, what's up?"

"Come talk with me in my dorm."

Troy says his goodbyes to the group and receives congratulations from them, except for Pierce, who tells him it was a creative way to come out. Troy panicks and stutters over his words, trying to say he isn't gay. I ignore it and continue walking with him.

We reach my dorm and Troy, still nervous from Pierce, asks why I want to talk to him in private.

"Troy, I've known you've been dancing for a while. I kept your secret because you're my friend, and because I thought it was about more than just dancing. But when I noticed how scared you were at the thought of the group finding out, I asked Britta to help you out. Now that it's over, I thought it's time to come clean," I tell him.

"Oh. I'm sorry Abed, you didn't have to do all that. You don't have to do all that for me. I know you care, but I'm fine. I didn't want people to know because you know how they'd respond, especially Pierce." I think that Troy's dancing represents more than dancing and actually represents his sexuality, but I don't want to pressure him. I also don't understand anything that isn't crystal clear, so I'm not sure how to go about this.

"You know, when I was a teenager, I started dancing. At first, my dad hated it. He didn't approve and yelled at me for weeks to stop dancing. Then, when I had my first recital, I was surprised he showed up. I was even more surprised when he clapped for me at the end. We got a standing ovation, started by my dad. When he saw me after, he told me he saw how happy I was whole dancing and he couldn't deny that to me. He apologized for being angry and supported my passion for dance ever since," I say to him. It's not entirely true, but he doesn't have to know that. I hope he believes it.

He gives me a look that I can't read.

"Abed, this isn't about dancing, is it?"

"No," I tell him. "I'm bisexual. I figured it out when I was sixteen. My dad was livid, but when he saw me happy on a date with my first boyfriend, he started to loosen up and support me. He fully supports me now. I've really started to think that you're queer too and that dancing has something to do with it, but I didn't want to assume. I think you're afraid of the group rejecting you, but you know that won't happen. We're all here for you, Troy."

"Wait, if you think the group would be supportive, why haven't you come out?"

"Because it was never relevant. If I had a serious boyfriend, I would come out, but I don't. There's no need. It's not like I tell them every time I hook up with someone."

"Ha, nice, you get laid," he laughs. We do our handshake.

"Thank you, Abed. And I am gay. It feels nice to finally say that. But there's more to it. Abed, with you going all these lengths for me, I can't deny it. I have feelings for you. I think I've had then for a long time, I think since we became partners for the Spanish project. But I realized it when I accidentally let Fievel out of his cage. You are an amazing person and I love everything about you. I love the way you care, I love the way you think, I love you for just the way you are. It's perfect. You're perfect, Abed," he confesses.

"I have feelings for you too, Troy. I don't know how to express it like you do, but believe me, I feel the same way." I pull him into a hug and we stand there, in the middle of my dorm, in silence. The sound of us breathing is calming.

After a few minutes, Troy breaks the silence.

"Does this mean we're dating now?"

"Well, do you want to be my boyfriend?" I ask him.

"Yes. Yes, I do, Abed," he says.

"Then the answer is yes."

"Hey Abed?"

"Yes, Troy?"

"I don't want to come out to the group. Not about being gay or us dating. Not yet, at least. I don't want to do it."

"Take all the time you need, Troy," I tell him. And for the first time in my life, I feel complete.

!!!!!!!! I finished my first fanfic and I'm happy!! unbelievably tired too but it was worth it. I'm definitely gonna make a chapter 2, but I'm not sure after that. if I make more chapters, they'll likely be more as one shots. I also have a list of other stand alone trobed fics to write, majority about them coming together so there'll be more. and maybe considering an abed x reader or oc cause I love abed and can't really project onto troy?? but don't take my word on that. I also am in need of a title for this so im not sure how that'll go. also I might repost this to wattpad and link it so if I do I'll edit it to add. definitely won't be on ao3 though, I refuse to make an account there. anything fanfic wise that I do will definitely be on tumblr, maybe on wattpad

Headcanons: Starting Your Freshman Year at Greendale and Joining the Study Group

Headcanons for being a new freshman at Greendale and becoming a member of the study group?

Ohh sorry i didn’t clarify! it doesn’t matter to me, i just liked the idea of the reader kinda being the baby of the group, so maybe everyone is in their later years at greendale?

Relationship(s): The Study Group (Jeff, Britta, Annie, Troy, Abed, Shirley and Pierce) x gn!reader (platonic)

Warnings: References to underage drinking. (Let me know if I need to add any)

(A/N: I started writing this literal years ago, but I rewatched the Community Christmas episodes today and it’s made me want to rewatch all of Community and start writing for it again. Not enough people write for it, and not enough people write gender-neutral-reader fics. This was like 90% done so it was a good place to start again. I went with making it so the reader joins the Study Group during season 3, since I had the idea of using the reader to replace Todd in the episode where none of them want to work with him. I haven’t followed the canon of season 3 verbatim, since it’d have made writing this kinda difficult (plus I haven’t seen season 3 in years). So, this is more general. I’m hoping to work through my list of Community requests from years ago throughout 2024, since I’m hoping to get more into the habit of putting aside time for writing.)

When you decided on taking Biology 101 during your first semester at Greendale, you were bound to learn of (and witness first hand) the notorious Study Group.

Your hope that you wouldn’t be roped into their borderline-narcissistic antics was killed when you were given Pierce Hawthorne as your lab partner.

To say he was annoyed would be an understatement.

Oh boy, did he make it known that he abhorred having to be your lab partner.

In fact, most of them seemed to hate the idea of being stuck as your partner, which was at least a little hurtful.

When Abed rearranged the lab partner pairings based on some mental computer wizardry, you got put with Jeff, who was a bit more subtle with his annoyance.

You spent most of that night standing there awkwardly while Shirley cried about being the least popular member of the Study Group, or trying to be some kind of mediator between these friends who you knew only from rumours and observing them.

You also had to rescue a turtle from being burned alive by Britta, which sent you over the edge into a fit of fury.

Annie was the one who apologised to you for everything, and, much to the chagrin of everyone else, invited you to join the study group.

Perhaps she didn’t expect you to take her up on the offer, but you did anyway.

Your first study session with them made them realise that you fit in well with the group.

Even Abed liked your presence, because he believed it ‘changed the status quo without being like when sitcoms add a kid character in a desperate attempt to boost the ratings’.

(He compared you to Frasier from Cheers)

For a while, though, you did feel a little isolated from the group, considering you were often the only one to comment negatively on the group’s questionable behaviour, which they saw as perfectly normal.

However, you adjusted to being in the group alarmingly fast, to the point of getting carried away in the Study Group mentality like the rest of them.

As the baby of the group, you were treated as such, despite being at least a bit more mature than Troy and Abed.

For example, if Jeff and Britta were in the middle of a heated discussion, you’d be told to ‘stay out of it’.

Abed, early on, would analyse you to figure out how exactly you fit into the group, such as deciding what archetype best describes you.

There’s also a chance that he would create and manipulate situations in order to test your personality.

Jeff would shut this down as soon as he figured out what Abed was doing.

In an effort to try and include you more, Annie would force each member of the Study Group to do an activity with you.

Annie invited you to a one-on-one study session.

(Also, if you’re taking any classes that she took in her first or second year, she’ll lend you her old materials, like notes, textbooks, study cards etc.)

Shirley took you to the mall with her and her kids, treating you like one of her own kids.

Troy and Abed introduced you to Inspector Spacetime, which you quickly became a big fan of.

(Watching it became a Saturday night ritual for the three of you)

Britta brought you along to a protest which ended in the both of you in jail.

(An irritated Jeff would have to come bail you both out, and Britta would beg him not to say anything about it to Shirley or Annie)

Pierce gave you $1000 to tell Annie that he’d taken you to the zoo.

Jeff invited you over to his apartment for beers, which resulted in you both getting wasted and having a tearful heart-to-heart with one another.

Despite adopting the Study Group mentality to a certain degree, you would be the least susceptible to the group’s dumbassery due to joining so late, which meant you’d often be the one to pull the group out of the stupid shit they were doing.

At the very least, you’d pull Jeff out of it, and he’d take the lead and sort out everyone else.

If you weren’t that close to your family, you’d probably spend holidays over at Shirley’s upon her insistence.

(I love love love the idea that she makes a custom Christmas stocking for you the first year you come over)

In a weird way, the Study Group became your family, albeit a dysfunctional one.

After your friends all graduated, you stayed in touch with most of them, even before you were reunited because of the Save Greendale Committee.

It’s safe to say that, even if you do join late, you’re still accepted as one of them, for better or for worse.

Jeffbritta — I really like them they compel me quite a bit! I thought about putting them higher but because part of their whole thing is that they’re the normie toxic hets who are so basic in concept that they work all the way around to be subversive and fun I thought this ranking made sense for them. Also it’s true that the first time I was watching Comm it took me awhile to warm to them but eventually did and then on my second watch through I got real attached. Hand in unloveable hand core. Trobed — they’re great they compel me Geothermal Escapism makes me cry so much. I don’t think I have anything really insightful to add they’re the moment. Abedison — in a lot of ways this is my favorite community dynamic… they are my two favorite characters so that’s part of it. I love them romantically or platonically or queer-platonically, they’re two bisexuals in love they’re lesbian bi solidarity they’re a yuri couple nonbinary Abed rights they’re in a qpr with Troy they’re in a polyamorous relationship with Troy they’re in a fake relationship to cover up identity fraud one if them (could be either) committee and/or a murder one of them (Annie) committed, they’re neurotic freaks who understand each other best and they’re worsties. I did write multiple romantic Annie/Abed fics during quarantine with an account that’s now orphaned. My feelings on them as a ship are less cut and dry than on Trobed and Jeffbritta though hence placements.

Jabed — I also go back and forth on platonic/romantic with them but either way am compelled, a fascinating dynamic and foil ship, the most important relationship of the show in some ways. Critical Film Studies is usually the episode that puts me in a shippy mood where they’re concerned because there are Vibes present in that one.

Brittannie — the thing with them is I find them compelling but mostly from an Annie perspective because I very much read her as having feelings for Britta at points in the show and am interested in what it means for her, I’m less interested in seeing them together romantically in most scenarios except for the Brittannie Carmilla au I wrote one time, that was compelling to Me. Also I do flip flop on how I feel about them if you’d asked me when I first got into community I would have been more enthusiastic and maybe I’ll change my mind again next rewatch.

Frankie x Britta — I remember being into them but I don’t remember the justification much but.. it’s a good dynamic cute first date idea surprise a girl in her car and bond over nihilism in a round about way. There is a balancing effect there.
