Things I wish we saw more in Gilmore Girls:

1. Paris, Jess, and Rory interacting

2. More of Jess and Rory’s relationship. There was two seasons of build up just for us to get table scraps of them together when they made it official. The other two main bfs got plenty of screen time with her in comparison, especially Dean

3. Lorelai and Emily bonding alone

4. Paris, Rory, and Lane interacting

5. More Tristan in general but I understand it’s because of the actor leaving, but a girl can dream

6. More Lorelai and Richard scenes. I always felt like she was seen with Emily more

7. More older and mature Jess scenes

8. I wanted a better goodbye to Madeline and Louise. They were regular side characters for three seasons, and I hate that they basically vanished. I’m curious what they’re up to besides that spring break episode.

9. More date scenes between Luke and Lorelai

10. Rory taking genuine accountability for her many horrid actions

11. People not viewing Rory as some saint and enabling her behavior when she’s literally one of the most flawed and selfish characters in the show

12. Honestly? I think Lindsay was too nice about the cheating scandal. I wish she actually got a chance to either tell Rory off or slap her. I would’ve rooted for her

13. Lorelai and Luke communicating efficiently. Both were taught not to communicate from their parents, but they need to unlearn it since it severely ruined their relationship two separate times.

14. Lorelai and Luke deserved a proper wedding. They were the most popular slow burn ship that everyone was rooting for, and we deserve a proper wedding after witnessing 7 seasons of watching them pine for one another. I’m still pissed they wasted the budget on that stupid play in the revival.

Similarities between Tim/Lucy (The Rookie) and Luke/Lorelai (Gilmore Girls)

I've been meaning to do this for a while, especially after I recently did a Gilmore Girls rewatch and found that two of my fave couples of all time have quite a few things in common.

Let's start with the guys and girls, then the similarities between the couples.

Tim & Luke

Gruff exterior with a heart of gold

Kind of a loner

Parents have passed away

Will do anything to make his girl happy

Easily jealous

But also doesn't think any other guy good enough for Lucy or Lorelai (pre-relationship)

A show-you kind of guy

Both have a younger sister

Both date a Rachel

Both date someone annoying (Nicole & Ashley) (sorry, I HAD to. They both drive me nuts.)

Very protective of those he loves

Both secretly like "nerdy" stuff (Luke-Star Trek, Tim-Dr. Who)

Lucy & Lorelai

Sunshine chatterbox

Only child

Difficult relationship with parents

Harsh parental expectations, but she forges her own path anyway

Can get their guy to do anything

Explains pop culture references to the guys

Both date a Chris

Loves messing with her guy (Lucy-pranks, Lorelai-getting Luke ranting)

Loves making things special for her people (Lucy-gift baskets, sending food, Lorelai-special events, movie nights, etc.)

Hasn't really been fully in love before

Watching this tonight with my sister who's never seen the show before... I almost forgot how absolutely magical this scene was. Lorelai is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS and Luke is FINE AS EVER and they are dancing so hesitant and soft- you can tell just how in love they are and how they've just about realized it in the way they look at each other 😭 they are the loves of my life and my roman empire and my everything, i will never stop talking about this episode and reflecting light playing in the background and bringing it back for their wedding.... I had an absolutely horrible day today and this just calmed me, don't let anyone ever tell you characters can't make you feel better.

The fact that everyone except Lorelai knows about her feelings for Luke is hysterical to me.

Like, Sookie brings it up at least once or twice, and Lorelai always acts like the idea is insane. Also, nearly everyone in town knew, just look at how they acted when Lorelai was going to tell Luke that she got engaged. It seems like Emily brought it up every couple episodes, too.

Even Jess knew. Like, Jess who had been in Star’s Hollow for only a few days and didn’t really seem to pay attention to anyone but himself knew there that was something go on there.
