Dacre Montgomery (‘Stranger Things’) on filming his Season 4 appearance from Australia: ‘I put everything into this moment’ [Exclusive Video Interview]
Sam Eckmann TV June 17, 2023 6:30AM
“I like to do a lot of character prep and development and sort of live in character,” explains Dacre Montgomery of his acting process. The breakout “Stranger Things” star made a surprise return to the hit Netflix series in Season 4 despite his character Billy being killed in the previous season. His appearance was brief, but it provided the actor with a unique filming opportunity and the chance to put a final touch on a role that means a great deal to him. “It’s a culmination of hundreds of hours of work and really living in character in many ways,” says Montgomery. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
The Duffer Brothers called Montgomery near the start of the global pandemic with the offer to return for some pivotal scenes with Max (Sadie Sink). “And then it became quite difficult to leave Australia,” says the actor, noting that he was stuck in his home country while the series was being filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Montgomery recorded lines of dialogue for Sink to work with as she filmed in the U.S., but it became too difficult a prospect for him to join her. To his surprise, production agreed to shoot his material in Perth. “They decided to shoot the scenes in my hometown, but a sound stage of the size that they needed, with a blue screen stage, didn’t exist. So they built one just for the one scene in Western Australia, which was awesome,” he admits. The costumes, wigs, and prosthetics for Billy were flown in from across the globe, and the actor worked with a local Australian team to put it all together.
“But the strangest part of it all was I was on a blue stage,” he admits. He had a tiny earpiece playing Sink’s lines for him, but he otherwise only had a tennis ball to act opposite. The performer describes the process as “highly emotional work,” not only because of the content of the scenes, but because of his deep attachment to his character. So despite the strange circumstances, filming by himself while in and out of hotel quarantine, Montgomery “put everything into this moment.”
Because of his isolation in Oz, Montgomery reveals that he had “no real context obviously of what was happening in the rest of the season.” This includes the setup that the villain Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) produces an illusion of Billy as a representation of Max’s grief, and as a way to lure her into accepting death. But Montgomery had no designs on portraying a new version of the character. “I really just wanted to play Billy for Billy, and give the sort of authenticity of the character work in that space,” he explains, “There’s so much core memory there of Billy and who he is. So this sort of materialization of him, it was important for me to play the character properly rather than trying to be an offshoot.”
Viewers may also describe Billy as a villain, but Montgomery is drawn to the discovery of what lurks beneath the surface of this kind of figure. “There’s this sort of truth in a weird sick way in the mask,” he explains, “These antagonists, or perceived antagonists, are trying to cover up deep trauma. So obviously that they wear this mask that’s outwardly facing.” During his time on “Stranger Things,” he enjoyed exploring what made Billy put on his mask in order to humanize the character. Montgomery had to mine his own personal fears and demons in order to tap into this facet of Billy. That process is scary, but also cathartic. “I think working with Billy, there was three or four years, however long I was involved with the show, of catharsis,” states Montgomery.

Late Drives | T. Zegras
pairing: Trevor Zegras x gn!reader
word count: 0.4k
warnings: none! just fluff
requested: yes
not my gif!
Tumblr media
“Let’s go for a drive.”
“Hmm?”
“Drive, let’s go.” he grinned, grabbing your hand, pulling you to the door. Letting you slip on shoes, immediately grasping my hand, dragging you to his bronco.
“Where are we going?” the question was asked after he had buckled you in and ran over to the drivers side.
“Wherever we want.” he grinned, waiting for approval.
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Yep. Drive, pretty boy.” his lips curving into a bigger smile, starting the bronco quickly.
“You got aux?” the question answered with a scoff, making him look over to see your phone already connected. “I see you do.”
Leaning his arm across the seats, hand on the head of the passengers, to back out, giving time to admire him.
“Staring is rude, you know?”
“Wasn’t staring, admiring.” he laughed at the words, his hand falling down to intertwine yours. Wildest Dreams starting, Trevor’s face lighting up at the first chord.
“You approve?”
His rapid nodding made it clear, quickly singing along to the words.
“HE’S SO TALL AND HANDSOME AS HELL!” the words were screamed, by both of you. Staring at trevor the entire song.
“Why’re you staring?”
“It’s so you.” The confused look that spread over his face, the way his eyebrows furrowed together, was enough of an answer to tell he didn’t understand.
“Tall, handsome, bad but does it so well.” motioning your hands to symbolize you could continue.
“The song? Is me?”
“Yep.”
“You think I’m handsome.” he grinned, turning to sneak a look at you.
“Trev, we’re literally dating, I tell you this everyday.”
“But you referenced Taylor Swift while doing it this time.”
“Is that the only thing you acknowledged?”
“Maybe.”
The drive continued similarly, screaming more songs with Trevor, the entire way.
“IT’S A LOVE STORY,”
“BABY JUST SAY YES!”
Sharing verses and joining on the chorus, keeping your hand with Trevor's the entire time, only letting go a few times, letting him rub circles on your thigh.
The drive lasted an hour, Trevor pulling off into some dirt road. Jumping out to pull the back open, telling you to crawl back.
“Where are we?”
“A little place me and Jamie found a few weeks ago.” The smile was evident on his face, clearly proud of his discovery.
“Okay, so why?”
“Because it’s sunset, it’s going to look so good.” he slid beside you, his back against the seats beside you, sliding his arm over your shoulder. Pulling you as close as possible to him, kissing the top of your head, the music still softly playing in the background.
It stayed like that for two hours, watching the sun set, sharing kisses, singing along to the music again. You stayed against Trevor the entire time, only shifting slightly but never leaving his grasp.

Easter Eggs and Spoilers for 7x03 below the cut!
Tumblr media
The Big House
The big house burns - and we learn that Arch Bug had been hiding a secret right beneath Jamie and Claire’s nose. But what I found especially interesting about this storyline (and even more so when I first read the books), was the discovery that their obituary was written in error, and why.
Claire and Jamie remark that it is not January at the time that the house burns down, and it’s clearly not even Fall in the show (in the books the house burns on December 21st). Claire also makes a comment about how newspapers never get anything correct, which is comical considering Jamie’s previous profession as a printer.
In the epilogue of A Breath of Snow and Ashes, we discover that the news of their deaths was reported by a reader of the local paper in Wilmington, and was used to fill a page beneath General Washington’s address to the troops. Spoiler territory, but it was actually Tom Christie who heard of the big house fire and wanted to put a formal obituary in the paper to honor Claire and Jamie. We see that Tom is very much still alive in the preview for this week’s episode, so that will cover the rest of that storyline.
But back to the book epilogue. The printer admits that he was told the news of their deaths in December, but printed the date as January because he had set the page in a specific font which had been missing the November and December slugs, and would have had to type it out in separate letters (which he did not feel was worth it, since after all, they are dead).
1980’s
Back in the future, we are in Inverness with Fiona and her husband and daughters. We briefly see Jemmy and Fiona’s kids playing in the yard, with Mandy in the bassinet and implied to be recovering from her heart surgery. The year is 1980 but it’s implied they have been there for a little while now - I know a lot of people were confused as to why there was such a time jump. Claire and Jamie are in 1776, and while Claire always says she went back 200 years, we will soon learn once Roger begins writing his book on time travel that it’s not exact every time.
There, Fiona gives Bree and Roger a mystery box which had been delivered to Reverend Wakefield’s former address and kept by the bank for over 200 years. In the books, Claire and Jamie deliver this chest to a bank in Edinburgh once they arrive back in Scotland so that one day in the future it would be delivered to Jemmy. So to ensure that no one else would ever open the box at that time, they gave strict instructions that it not be opened by anyone other than the name on the top, and used Jemmy’s full name (presumably so that no other Scot with a similar name could claim it as theirs). We see them writing those letters in this episode to Brianna and Roger, updating them as to what has happened and their journey to Scotland.
In the books, the end of A Breath of Snow and Ashes is Bree reading the letter and line “we are alive”, then the book ends. I like that we don’t have that cliffhanger here and can see this storyline unfold right away as it is one of my favorites from the books. In this moment we were able to get excerpts from a few more letters which are taken directly from An Echo in the Bone, and can see how Jamie and Claire had both taken turns writing to the McKenzie’s.
In the books, the box includes letters, two books, and Sawnee, Jamie’s toy snake from his brother. In the show, they included a musket ball which we saw them making out of the stolen French gold in the episode. Another difference is that in the books, the letter is written on December 31st, ten days after the fire. In the show, it’s written in April.
Bree and William
In Echo in the Bone, the opening scene takes place with Bree and Roger still in Wilmington, and standing with William watching Stephen Bonnet tied up in the harbor (obviously this has been rearranged in the show, since the Bonnet storyline wrapped up in Season 5). It is on the shore that she meets William, and William meets Mandy and Jemmy as well. Then we cut to Lallybroch in September of 1980, where Bree and Roger are continuing to read the first letter from Claire. Having been so immersed in the show, it’s easy to forget how many storylines they have moved around from the books.
Like the books, Roger points out that Bree’s matches are in fact the thing that caused the fire of the Big House while reading Claire’s letter. He points out that in trying to prevent their deaths they had succeeded, and changed the future. This is reminiscent of Claire and Jamie’s journey to France and how their attempts to prevent an event were likely the very thing that caused it.
Ian and William
Back at the Big House, Claire, Jamie and Ian are going through the rubble in search of anything they can recover. Amongst the items are a few of Claire’s books, Jamie’s old tartan, and a piece of the french gold. Young Ian is also able to recover the portrait of William that Lord John had given Jamie.
In the books, Ian had been suspicious of William’s parentage the first time he met him as a child back on the Ridge when he and Lord John had visited. He had recognized his stubborn nature as one that mirrored Jamie’s and his mother’s, but never made mention of it to Jamie. In the show they took this opportunity to have Jamie and Ian share that really lovely moment. You can tell what a relief it has been to Jamie each and every time someone else learns of this secret he has been harboring. And Ian has such a huge role in Jamie’s life as his only true remaining family to be with him now. I really think John Bell is the perfect Young Ian.
French Gold
Arch Bug and Jamie have their inevitable confrontation where he admits that he had been taking it back from Hector Cameron bit by bit each time he was sent to River Run. For backstory and a refresher, Jocasta Cameron (Jamie’s aunt) was married to a man named Hector Cameron, who we briefly saw in a flashback during season 4. Hector, his brother in law Dougal (Jamie’s Uncle), and a third man (who we now know was Arch Bug’s Laird, Malcolm Grant) had the gold and intended to use it to support the Jacobite cause and aid Charles Stuart’s rebellion.
When Hector Cameron and Jocasta fled Scotland after the rising, they took their share of the Jacobite gold with them and used it to fund River Run. It was during that journey that Hector accidentally killed he and Jocasta’s daughter, Morna. Arch felt that the gold was misused and Hector was a traitor to Scotland and the cause. He felt it was his duty to take it back, and in doing so he stole from Jamie’s family. Jamie terminates Arch’s employment at the Ridge and releases him of his oath to him.
In the books this moment is substantial because the Bugs are less of background characters and we have seen how much they mean to the Frasers. The show isn’t able to capture that properly, and even more so with Mrs Bug. It isn’t until An Echo in the Bone where Mrs. Bug returns to the Big House in search of the remaining gold where she is mistaken for Arch and is killed by Ian. She was a grandmother figure to Ian whom he deeply loved and appreciated so this was heartbreaking in the books. I suspect in episode 4 we will see Ian and Rachel meet and perhaps by the end of this first half of season 7 we will have Arch return. In the books he goes after Rachel a few times, as Ian is in love with her. William is the one who saves her a few times, and I’m looking forward to him and Ian interacting with one another for the rest of this season.
Return to Scotland
Back on the Ridge, time has passed (as made evident by Claire’s hair). Jamie and Claire discuss where they might set out to build another house, and they share a conversation about where they would like their body’s buried should either of them be killed which is direct from the books. Jamie tells Claire that he wishes to first return to Scotland, as he had promised Ian and Jenny that he would return young Ian to them. With the war looming, it is now or never. They agree that they should go and begin making plans to travel back across the ocean to Lallybroch.
In the books he does not admit that to Claire right away but instead says his reason for returning is to fetch his printing press. The Ridge is no longer a safe place for them while there is so much unrest regarding Malva and now Mrs Bug. Claire thinks they can go live with Fergus and Marsali in New Bern, and it is then Jamie tells her he wishes to bring Ian home and have him avoid the war.
That night, while in bed, Claire can hear Jamie praying. In the books, he leaves their room and goes to a small pool or water near their cabin to pray, and Claire finds him there only to pick up on him praying to God to let him be enough. I enjoyed how this scene was shot in the show better, to be honest. And rolls perfectly into the following morning when Jamie tells Claire of his most recent dream.
The frequency of Jamie’s dreams of the future seem to be increasing, and this time he tells Claire that he saw the McKenzie’s. They were walking up to a house, and looked happy. He is able to tell Claire the name of the woman speaking to them both, Fiona, which Claire knows she had not shared with Jamie before. He also tells Claire that Jemmy was trying to talk to him through a box he’d never seen before, and she tells him it is a telephone.
To hide what was left of the French Gold, Jamie uses some of it for musket balls and the remainder he puts into a chest. He and Claire then return to a cave that we find out he used to come to with Jemmy. Inside the cave, Jamie shows Claire the remains of a Spanish man who died there. This is later important in Jamie’s cryptic letter to Roger and Bree which reveals Jemmy holds the key to finding it. The storyline with Jemmy in the future gets very interesting, and I feel like the cliffhanger for the end of this first half of the season might be his kidnapping.
A New Knife
Back on the Ridge, Jamie and Claire share a scene straight from the books where he gives her a new knife for their journey. There are lots of direct quotes from the books, minus a few dirty comments from Jamie. The two blood the blade and call back to the iconic line from their wedding, “Blood of my Blood” with a reworked version of their theme song.
I loved this parallel to their wedding, where Claire was not given a choice to share her blood and partake in this act. Now, we see her blood her own blade willingly and choose Jamie once again. The theme of Echo and the Bone is definitely heavy on Jamie’s self worth and Claire choosing him over and over again. Their strength as a couple will be needed more than ever this season, so I like that they are reinforcing that with these scenes.
Lallybroch
At the end of the episode, Bree and Roger drive up to Lallybroch. Ironically they were filming at when I was in Scotland last year and my tour was cancelled because they ended up extending filming due to rain. While there, Bree explains to Roger how much he would have loved the house in its hay day. They cut to a shot of Bree sitting on the steps looking through the gate like Claire had back in season 3 imagining Jamie there. Worried they are trespassing when another car arrives, they learn that the property is actually up for sale. When we see them in the future again in the books they had already purchased it, so I liked getting to see this scene in the show. The house is so central to their storyline and feels like a strong return to seasons 1 and 2. When Jamie and Claire go back to Scotland this season the two couples will be at Lallybroch simultaneously across time and I think that will be incredible to watch.
Wilmington again
Claire and Jamie travel to Wilmington (doesn’t it feel like they just left and were only home on the ridge for a long weekend) and along the way Claire spots Adso. She knows she cannot take him with her and sadly leaves him in the woods to live out his life at the ridge. She has a moment where the reality of their home being gone again hits her all at once and they have a really touching scene where she sees the stake that Jamie first put down in season 4 when they arrived at Fraser's Ridge.
She asks Jamie if they will make it back there one day, and he admits he never thought he’d see Scotland again but the Ridge is where they are bound, so they will. This ties back to his conversation with Bree where she tells him that the freedom gained in this war is worth fighting for, so Jamie knows he must take part. To wrap a nice bow around the episode, Claire says to him that he will always be enough for her, and it was the sweetest moment as the two ride off towards their next adventure in Wilmington as they prepare to travel to Scotland.
A good episode, pacing is still quite quick, but I’m enjoying this season a lot.

Do any of the Greyhounds play D&D in TATBP? And, if so, will they ever get to play with the Cool Kids (the teachers)?
Hey so I hope you don't mind but I have decided to use this ask as an excuse to talk my nerd shit.
First and Foremost to answer the question: Do I think any of the greyhounds play dnd? absolutely yes. Specifically I think Bumbercatch, Jan Maas and Colin play dnd.
Colin got into it when he was a little kid and a massive nerd before he grew up and started desperately trying to be cool. He was really embarrassed about how much he liked it for a long ass time but he's come to embrace it over the years as he's gotten older and stopped giving a fuck! He hasn't played much since he was a kid, but if he's ever given the chance too again I think he'd take it.
Jan Maas and Bumbercatch were both Weird Kids and found deep enjoyment in the game as a result that they carried into adulthood for entirely different reasons. Bumbercatch liked the choas of dnd and all the shenanigans you could get into, whereas Jan Maas was a big fan of the mathematics and rules of it all. Jan Maas is a rules lawyer but in the Siobhan Thompson from D20 way where he fucks DM's over by reminding PC's of cool shit their characters can do that the DM was banking on them having forgotten about.
Despite the fact all three of them like dnd, none of them actually realise this and have never played a campaign together, which might be for the best. There would be tears.
As for if The Cool Kids and playing with them? Maybe! I might write a one shot about it or mention it vaguely in the actual story but I'm pretty mindful about not putting too many of my nicher headcanons into an already very niche fic.
Now this isn't a question that you asked but I'm going to answer it anyway! How did Jamie himself get into dnd? easy! Skye dragged him into it kicking and screaming. Which is sort of a joke but not really.
When they were in university Skye really wanted to go to some board game club but she didn't want to go alone so she took Jamie with her. Jamie was just there to be a good friend, but when Skye made some new friends that wanted to play a campaign with her, she once again made Jamie come along because she wanted to have someone she knew better than these three randos from a board game club she'd been too once with her. And because Jamie while he was in university was on a journey of self discovery trying to figure out who he was without football, he said yes and ended up enjoying the game quite a bit.
He and Skye have been playing half elf siblings in the same campaign for years. Their names are Pin and Misty. Jamie's character is a Bard, Skye's is a ranger. When they started working at Clarence Hill and met Kareem, who was also a nerd, they learnt that he was a forever DM so they invited him to join them and their uni friends for the campaign where he could be a PC. The rest was nerdy ass history.
Jamie doesn't think or care about it half as much as Skye or Kareem do, but he enjoys watching them argue about it. He's mostly just there for the vibes.
Also fun fact; the rest of The Cool Kids dnd group is actually comprised of Skye's bandmates, because I have decided that she is indeed in a band. It has a name and a logo and everything. I'm committed to this being a thing.

i completelyyyyy agree w u that leo and trevor don’t like each other. it's funny bc many assumed they would get along well considering they both seem to have somewhat goofy and silly personalities. but i have barely seen them interacting during the games they have played together.
i wonder if trevor is holding a grudge against the new guys? it was supposed to be him & jamie, and then him & jamie & mason's team, and now it's not. trevor and his besties are being pushed aside/traded away for newer, shinier versions of them. trevor knows he's not verbeek's guy and leo is the face of the verbeek ducks.
the one thing re: zelly beign part of the newcrew is that mason and zelly have known each other for a long time through team canada stuff. bedard said they were going to go to dinner (the three of them) after their game the other day but then mason and connor were ... fighting? during the game so they didn't LOL.
anyway, if this is how trevor acts with leo and some of the new guys, god help cutter gauthier. like truly. that man can hold a grudge and i don't think he is going to be welcoming the dude who got jamie sent away with open arms...
i pretty much think it's set in stone that trevor will be traded tbh. but that raises an interesting question - what about mason? how will he feel when his two best friends are gone? after watching everything that's gone down since verbeek took over? will he still want to stay there? i think pat verbeek has made a huge mess for himself here. not to be dramatic but the vibes really shifted when he traded jamie. i think that lost him a few guys in the room. and then with the absence of henrique and carrick, that team is just absolutely floundering. so much hurt and so much baggage.
oooooooh yeah that’s it exactly: “trevor knows he's not verbeek's guy and leo is the face of the verbeek ducks.” pat verbeek has pointedly been acquiring multiple 1Cs who are not trevor, and trevor can take a hint. that said, i don’t necessarily agree that verbeek’s made a mess… the ducks are still very well situated for long term success even if they look like a wreck at the moment. the vibes we discern on tumblr are not necessarily the vibes in the room.
BUT ANYWAY actual vibes are boring so let’s get back to headcanons. i like to think that mason and zelly are sort of the bridge between the two camps, like they can make peace when they have to and they also bitch together about what a pain in the ass everyone else is being. mason has his own drama to handle with whatever the fuck is going on with connor, he does not have time or sympathy for the other ducklings’ woes.
(BUT ALSO what if that canceled dinner had something to do with the discovery of a little connor/zelly entanglement? i am never not thinking about how connor said zelly has the best body he’s ever seen.)

When The Lake Thawed Out: Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Summary: In 1993, a young man goes missing near a lake in his hometown; the town heartbroken and having lost a spark in their lives. Now, after 30 years of unanswered questions, he comes home in one of the most intense heatwaves to ever hit the town of Little Franconia, seeing that things are the same and different. In this tale of discovery and family, watch as Joshua relearns the world around him and adjusts to the nuances of pop culture, technology, and generational rot. "Josh?" the young male calls out for him. "Josh, where are you?" he asked out into the open water that circled his calves. He had ventured into this space before, but even so: it was unfamiliar. His gut knew where to go. It felt nostalgic, but it pained him at the same time. Still, he buried his feelings and focused. He turned around to see more of the water around him. He turns around again, a figure standing hunched ominously, knees slightly bent and head hanging between his shoulders. "Josh!" he said, running to him and touching his shoulder. "Josh?" he turned him around, seeing his brother with eyes closed and mouth shut. "Josh." He shook his brother momentarily before putting a hand on his cheek. "It's me… Jake."
Like something out of a horror film, the young man's jaw unhinged, and his eyes opened wide, a pipeline of murky water blasting him across the floor. He gasped for air as the water began to grab him, taking him down into the now-darkened water. He tried to reach out to him, but it was too late. His eyes were dark, his mouth still thrusting the water out.
The older man had opened his eyes wide, gasping and shooting up from his bed. He had coughed, holding his throat as if he were still there. Reality and nightmare bounced between him as he tried to get his bearings. He looked at his surroundings and ran to the bathroom.
He turned on the light, splashing himself with water, feeling the cool water and his sweat mix. He soon looked at himself in the mirror. Tired brown eyes stared back at him, his salt and pepper hair loose on his forehead. He rubbed his face and grumbled about.
"Dad?"
The older male had jumped, the other jumping. When he saw who it was, he grabbed his chest again. "Jamie… it's you…"
"Yeah," he said. The young male had a grey tank top and sweats on, feet bare on the floor. He looked tired within himself, his brown tresses out of place and eyes heavy, but not too tired that he wouldn't go and sleep. "You had another one of your nightmares, didn't you…"
"Yeah," he told him, rubbing his scruffy little beard, "It's the same as all others… I'm sorry; I didn't mean to wake you."
"It's okay," he told him, rubbing his father's shoulder. "Do you want something to drink?"
"I can go for something right about now; it's not like I'm gonna get to sleep anytime soon anyway," he said, rubbing his forehead. "What time is it?"
"Three in the morning," Jamie said, his father's eyes wide open, "come on, let's get you something," he said, taking his father's hand and leading him away. They walked down the hallway, another bedroom door slightly cracked. Jamie had let go of his father's hand and had peeped inside the bedroom. He saw another male sleeping on his stomach and hugging his pillow. He showed no care and no worry, to which Jamie smiled faintly and closed the door, "at least Samuel is asleep."
"Good… don't want to worry him with these things," his father said.
They quietly go down the stairs, the kitchen nightlight the only thing laminating their line of sight. They turned it off and turned on the kitchen light after. It was a small kitchen, nothing but small appliances and even cuteHis father had sat down, stretching, and closed his eyes for a moment. Jamie reached into the fridge, seeing how barren it was. All that was there were some apples and water. "We need to do food shopping; after all this, our new house…."
"We need to unpack those boxes, too," his father added, "did you unpack your stuff already?"
"Yeah… everything: clothes, shoes, books, you name it," Jamie states confidently, "I'm sure you did as well."
"There's still a box or two I gotta open," he stated, "there's just so much to do, you know? And I've just been sleeping all day, and you know how my sleep schedule is and—"
"It's his stuff… isn't it," Jamie spoke with a softness in his voice.
A silence fell around them like a fog, the older male scratching the back of his neck, trying not to allow emotions to surface. "Y-Yeah…" he said, rubbing his face. "I know; I said I was gonna donate it, but I just haven't got to it yet."
"Dad… it's been thirty years…" Jamie told him, taking his hand, "You just put flowers for him the other day… and I know he was your brother but—"
The older gentleman had slammed his fist onto the table, Jamie jumping and straightening his back. "He wasn't just my brother… he was my best friend," he said, "your uncle Josh would have been so happy to see you boys…"
Jamie had sighed; it was not a pleasant sigh. It was normal for him to go off on tangents about his brother Josh. The more he talked about Josh, the more he lost himself, replaying the days he and Josh would play at the Fisher Hall, even when no one was watching, or getting drunk and high at the rented cabin with his parents and uncles. He was always talking about him. "Dad…"
"And he was the funniest guy. He would have made you all laugh until you cried—"
"Dad—"
"And boy, did he love to do impressions—"
"DAD!" Jamie slammed his fists onto the table, "You need to get help!" his eyebrows furrowed in a way that showed anger, his cheeks flushed and teeth bear, "You said that when we moved back here, it was so we can be near grandma and grandpa, not for you to spiral again…."
"I know, I know," he said, his hands stretched over his eyes, visibly frustrated and eyes closed shut. "This isn't just some stranger's death; I need you to understand that this pain doesn't go away…"
Jamie felt guilt wash over him as he saw his father distressed, his hand in his hair, "I'm… I'm sorry. I don't like it when you become this…"
They soon heard footsteps, the other male, Sam, greeting them. He wore just shorts and sandals, his hair in a loose braid. "Are you guys fighting again?" Sam asked.
"No," the two men said, looking at each other and then at Samuel again.
"No, Sammy," Jamie said, getting up to meet the other and rubbing his back. "You go back upstairs, okay?" he said, Sam nodding and led away by his brother to go back to bed. When he saw him enter his room, he returned to his dad. "Try to go to bed…"
"I will… I need a moment," Jamie's father said.
Jamie sighed, drinking his cup and heading to the stairs. He halted and looked back at his father, his face in his hands. "Dad…"
"Yeah?" he said, removing his hands and looking at his son. His eyes were sunken and wet, his cheeks flushed, and his nose red from holding himself back. He looked depleted.
"I… I'm going to go in town later today and see what's up," Jamie said, trying to end the conversation amicably.
"Take your brother with you…" he said. "Don't let him out of your sight."
"Right," Jamie responded, looking disinterested as he was lost in thought, staring at the floorboard, "goodnight."
"Goodnight," he told him as he looked at his son leaving. He was left alone in the kitchen, his face in his hands.
Jamie had traveled up the stairs, hearing his father's muffled sobs as he headed to his room now. He took his headphones and placed them in his ear, and began to play loud music.
⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ ⟹
Feathered eyelashes sat on high cheekbones as the icy water flowed through and around him, comforting his form. It was all the body had ever known; it cradled him like the unborn idle in its mother's womb. His eyes opened just slightly, greeted by the soft ripples of light. It caught his iris, the shade of amber bouncing as he looked around himself. He tries to take his first breath but has ultimately invited water into his lungs. He panics and begins to thrash violently around him, bubbles surrounding him. With instinct, he travels to where the sun greets him. He coughs up water and other things, gasping and looking around.
He was in the middle of a lake.
"W-Where are you-" he says in worry and begins to call out. "JAKE! JAKEY!" his voice sounded desperate, breaking as he swam around the area to find his person. He reached into the water again, looking frantically to see if he was around. He shot his head back up to the surface, eyes red from the contact. He swam to the lake's littoral, crawling on the sand that pricked his skin and panted. He sat on his side, feet tucked underneath him and face towards the sun. Moments would pass, his skin drying as it soaked in the rays. He would soon get up, only to greet the ground again as he was weak.
"Okay… on your feet," he tells himself in a raspy voice. He slowly got up, arching his back and heading all the bones in his back to release their vices. The male groaned loudly, the relief cascading over him like a waterfall. He took his first step and another. His toes digging into the sand was now second nature for him. He then returned to the water to cool his face, only to look at his state.
He was disheveled, to say the least, and had tried to comb his hair through, but it was not possible. "I gotta get out of here…"

Good Queer horror movies?
I've probably got like three other asks like this floating around but what the hell we got halloween around the corner, let's take another spin.
Like, how good and how queer right? For example, I would put Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation solidly in the queer category. However, they do require a little bit of background reading and review to grok the queerness. There are also buckets of old movies with queer coding and queer subtext, but I lean more modern, so I'm gonna put down some favorites where the queerness is the text. The down side is it means I'm missing out on some movies I probably should recommend, but I can't sit here and parse out fifty titles.
Anyway, off the top recently I would say Sound of Violence has been a huge favorite of mine, with a queer and murderous protagonist, following an exploration of body horror and synesthesia of sound evoking a sexual response. This isn't for everyone but I adore it.
All Cheerleaders Die is a regular recommendation of mine on queer horror, although parts of it haven't aged very well. But on the other hand the theme of love and queerness is delicious, with a witch whose powers and love for her girlfriend are so strong they literally bring her back from the dead. More recently released is Seance, which is good but a bit middle of the road insofar as horror goes. Still and all, has a bit of the vibe of All Cheerleaders Die but with less of the tone deaf bits.
Der Samurai is, probably unintentionally, my favorite transfeminine horror movie. One trans woman, one katana, one cop trying to repress his queerness, one small town of bigots, and one night of explosive bloodshed. I've watched this movie three times and it always leaves me breathless.
Equally beautiful is Titane, a transmasculine horror movie with strong body horror elements and a great deal of unreliable perspective from the camera. While we can't tell everything that is real all the time, the hallucinatory journey is full of moments of heartbreak and beauty. I actually had to turn it off a moment in overwhelming happiness at the line "you have always been my son."
The trans horror that gave me the most intense experience, and the most trauma, was Boarding School, about a child experiencing the first sense of being trans, but while also undergoing a combination of abuse and trauma and generational trauma at a school where parents leave children they want to forget they have. Between the throughline of the protagonist's Jewish heritage, the moments of self-discovery which transform swiftly to shame or violence, and the moment of claiming themselves for themselves like a phoenix, if you are trans, this movie will both fuck you up and call you out really bad.
I recently saw Jamie Marks Is Dead, a gay ghost story that is also a wonderful illustration of how limited the idea of horror being about "scary movies" is. It's painful and sad and true and had me weeping. Spiral (2019, aka "the good one") is an excellent killer cult / satanic panic type of movie which also really explores the differences of the gay experience a white guy has vs a black guy, with a big heaping of gaslighting and PTSD. While I think Jamie Marks is a more soulful movie, Spiral stands apart as a great example of how a horror movie can be a very good conventional horror movie that happens to have queer protagonists, while including lots of juicy subtext to make it a deeper and richer experience.
There's a few more solid wlw movies I'm gonna toss in at the end here, which I think are pretty good but don't have the energy to go into a lot of detail: Thelma, Raw, and Bloodthirsty. Of course there is one widely Tumblr-popular wlw horror movie that you might notice hasn't been included in the body of this text. The omission is intentional, and judgemental.

Outlander Just Broke Our Hearts. Here's How Sam Heughan and Caítríona Balfe Reacted.
Tumblr media
Robert Wilson/Starz
The official logline for episode 702 of Outlander secretly warned us what we were in for ("a startling discovery about Roger and Brianna's newborn daughter; a familiar face returns; explosive consequences at the Ridge…"), but nothing could have prepared us for everything that went down, both literally and figuratively. Written by Toni Graphia and directed by Lisa Clarke, the episode—titled “The Happiest Place on Earth”—harkened back to Outlander's early days, when traveling through the Stones was commonplace, and Jamie and Claire were left with nothing but each other.
The episode starts at Fraser's Ridge, with Claire looking well after being captured. However, she soon runs into Malva's brother, Allan, who is visiting his sister's grave. We learn that he was the one who killed his sister because he raped her and the unborn child was his. He pulls out a pistol and tries to kill himself, but Claire pulls the gun away, thinking she's saved him until Ian shoots him with an arrow and kills him. Later, when Claire and Ian go to bury Allan, Mrs. Bug sees what they're doing and offers to help.
Following the opening credits, we see footage of Disneyland from the ‘50s, which seems to make no sense until later in the episode. (On that note, how much fun would it be to see a fantasy episode in which Jamie is able to travel through the Stones and Claire takes him to Disneyland? I’d watch that in a heartbeat).
Anyway, the joy of Disneyland soon gives way to Bree screaming at the top of her lungs about to give birth. (Hey, I'm sure some people have had a similar reaction to The Haunted Mansion or Tower of Terror). She gives birth to a little girl named Amanda Claire Hope Mackenzie. But soon thereafter Claire notices Mandy’s fingernails are blue-ish. She listens to her heartbeat, and realizes that Mandy has excess blood flowing to the lungs which means not enough oxygenated blood flows through the body. Mandy will probably not survive without surgery.
And so, the Mackenzies decide they must go through the Stones. But first they must prepare for the trip ahead. While gathering supplies, Bree runs into Lord John and meets William Ransom, Jamie’s son, and her half-brother. Bree is annoyed that Lord John won’t tell William about Jamie, and says she hasn’t forgotten about her other father (Frank) or stopped loving him. Later, Jamie visits Lord John and says he won’t be fighting for the British. Lord John gives him a sapphire to give to Bree to pass thru the Stones. Jamie is overcome with emotion.
Tumblr media
Bree, Lord John, and William. Robert Wilson/Starz
In the official press notes for the episode, David Berry (Lord John) says “that was an interesting scene to film. Lisa, the director, and I discussed this was like it was a divorce scene. The separation of Jamie and Lord John; Jamie has taken his allegiance to the Continentals and Lord John to the British—there is now an irreconcilable difference. However, there's still immense love there from both sides. The sapphire was symbolic of a ring—a piece of jewelry that unifiest them or a symbol of their deep connection. So, the giving back of the ring is an act of love, but it's also a goodbye. It's a way of ending the relationship.”
Anyway, we get to the meaning of the episode's title later that evening when Jamie and Bree spot fireflies in the forest. She tells him about Disneyland and why it's known as the Happiest Place on Earth. He asks if she’s disappointed being here in the 18th century, but she says no because it’s magical being with him.
Later, Jamie gives Claire a small gem in case she wants to go through the Stones as well, but she throws it out the window, never giving a second thought to leaving Jamie behind. They kiss and he says they should fetch that gem.
The next day the Mackenzies and Frasers travel by boat to the Ocracoke Stones. It’s a highly emotional scene all around, for both Claire and Bree, Jamie and Roger Mac, Jamie and Bree, Jamie and Jemmy (you get the picture). The intensity of the moment is balanced out by a sweet and clever exchange with Jamie and Jemmy where he tells his grandson to send his regards to “Michael Mouse.” Of course, any laughter one might have soon gives way to full-on waterworks when Jamie tells Bree he doesn't have the words and can't say goodbye.

The hardest of goodbyes. Robert Wilson/Starz
The Mackenzies successfully pass through the Stones, which we learn when they wake up and see a plane in the sky. Meanwhile, back in the 18th century, Jamie and Claire arrive back at the Ridge and things start to heat up in bed before Claire starts crying. She says every time she closes her eyes, she’s lost half her family. She tells Jamie she’ll never see them again, and he says he often thinks of Murtagh, as he knows they’ve lost a great many between them. Claire starts bawling. I'm bawling. Where's a trip to Disneyland when you need one?
At least we then get a little montage of things going well at the Ridge. However, there's too much time left in this episode for it to end on this uplifting note. Soon enough, Claire enters into the main house at night where she stumbles upon fellow time-traveler, Wendigo Donner. Claire wants to know what he is doing there and questions where he was when she needed his help before she was gang-raped. He says he would have been killed had he tried to intervene, but he's not there to talk about the past. Instead, he wants to get back to the present day and needs her help on how to travel through the Stones. She's reluctant, but just wants him out of her life, so she advises him to focus, have a clear conscience, don't drink, etc. But this being Outlander, he then pulls out a pistol and asks for more gemstones. He and his men (who had also been holding Jamie in another room) start ripping apart the house, including Claire’s lab. While I love this entire house, it's the demolition of Claire's hard work developing ether and all that's in her lab that leaves me the most devastated. But then it gets worse; Wendigo lights a match so he and his men can have more light to find the gemstones, but the fire from the match comes in contact with the ether, and the episode ends with the house blowing up.
“That was a really emotional, in part because it comes on the heels of losing Bree and Roger and the kids,” Caítríona Balfe (Claire) tells Glamour. “I think for Claire, she was trying to hold everything in and be the strong person who's let them go for a really good reason…but it's this thing of just losing your home [that breaks her]. It is such a destabilizing thing.”
The house going up in flames means it was also the end of a massive—and important—set piece that's been part of Outlander for several seasons now. “We were saying goodbye to that place, the location that had been our home for the last couple of years,” Sam Heughan (Jamie) adds. “It holds a lot of memories for Jamie and Claire.”
But before we get too much into the aftermath of the fire, we hopped on a Zoom with executive producer Maril Davis to talk about the episode as a whole, and what the goodbye scene means going forward.
Glamour: That was the most emotional episode I've seen in awhile, and also one of my favorites.
Maril Davis: Well, I cry every time I watch that goodbye scene [at the Stones], and I've seen it 20 times. I just think there's something so sad about it as a mom to be sending your daughter back through. And then also, I think the complicated thing about that scene was there was a lot of goodbyes. Do you know what I mean? You had Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. Bye bye. And then I think actors and director and the writers all figured out a way to make it kind of seamless and so heartfelt.
When Jamie says goodbye to Jemmy and has that iconic line about, "If you see a mouse named, Michael, tell him I say hi." But my favorite, favorite line from that scene that I'm so glad made it in is when Jamie at the end declares something to the effect of, "If not for you, I would not go on." And that to me encapsulates their whole relationship. It's like I've just sent my kid and my grandkids through. I do not think I can make it except for you. That's the only reason I'm still alive. And I'm just like, oh my God, I just want to cry.
Tumblr media
Claire and Jamie Forever. Robert Wilson/Starz
Wasn't it also the last scene for the little actors (Andrew and Matthew Adair) that played Jemmy?
Yes. So yes, those twins, we won't be seeing them again. I know they've grown so much.
When might we get a Roger, Bree, Claire, and Jamie reunion?
I think we've been at pains to try to show that going through the Stones is not easy. It's not like a low revolving door that you could just go through. And I think it takes its toll going through the Stones and people have died. We know from past seasons that Wendigo Donner, his friends didn't make it. It takes its toll on you, so it's not something you should enter into lightly. So I think, Bree and Roger are thinking, this is a time we should stay in, that feels like a safer time. And I think Jamie and Claire feel better knowing they're in this other time and they're safe. But are they?
So will they reunite this season and be in the same time period?
I can't say anything. You'll have to watch.
Let's talk about the fire at the end. Wow.
Oh my God, I'm so sad to see that house go. It's so sad. But on the other hand, we have been talking about this fire for so long. I think I just wanted to tap in and us to move on. It was so sad though. That beautiful house is no longer there, but I think also the aftermath of it is so brilliantly done by our art department.
And that took a long time to do. That's not just like, oh, we burn it down. That's a piece of art. I think for the actors, it was a really sad moment for them as well, because we've been filming on this set for a long time. We no longer have this set, and we said goodbye to some sets this year. We also said goodbye to our Wilmington set. And it's something very sad when you say goodbye to these pieces of your show that you're not going to go back to. It feels like a nostalgia and a kind of bittersweet moment. It's just like everything you know and love is gone. But that's the point of it. It's like that's just possession and the important thing is right here.
Glamour
Remember… it's this thing of just losing your home [that breaks her]. It is such a destabilizing thing. — Caitríona Balfe

🔒 for Alex and Fires, 💜for Jamie and the Princess, and 🎊 for Josie/September!
🔒- Something one hopes that the other never finds out about.
The most obvious thing from Alex's POV is that he of course doesn't want Fires to know the hybrid still lives. He would pick the life of his child over it a billion times of course. On a more emotional level, I dont think Alex wants Fires to know how much potential sway it actually has over him; that theres the smallest part of him that would go along with it.
From Fires' POV... im not sure. I don't think there's anything thats truly a matter of never finding out more so..... waiting for the right time, for Alexander to know certain things. It knows he's liable to overeact (unreliable narrator here) to the things its planning, so i think certain information regarding certain schemes, and plans for keeping Alex, are simply....witheld from him, until the time is right.
💜- What’s their favorite memory of the other?
this is messed up from the Princess POV i am warning now lmao
Probably when her scheme failed during the Reunion ES. Watching her anger flare, but being stood up to. Seeing her pettyness and her rage once again going nowhere; to know that no matter how highly she holds herself, she will fail.
The first time she personally made them cry :) How rivetting to at last bring down that arrogance, and begin to carve them into something proper. To push and prod at them until finally something snaps is so entertaining, so fun to have them so malleable.
And they look so pretty when they cry
🎊- How do they celebrate each other’s achievements?
With so much damn support! Every one of Josie's scientific discoveries, published paper's, and inventions are met with cheer and celebration from September <3 Even if he doesnt always understand what she's talking about, he's always so happy and supportive of the things she does. Smaller things are met with an excited cheer and talk, bigger things have a planning of a special evening with drinks and snacks, assuming they have time to be together. Sept is also in the habit of picking Josie up and spinning her lol.
Vice versa, Josie is very supportive of September. I mean she pushed for his role in Balmoral and place on the railway board in the first place, it'd be odd if she didnt celebrate further achievments. If there's one thing he can be sure of, its that Josie is always supporting him and his goals, and will be there to cheer on any of his accomplishments.

'Towards the end of All of Us Strangers – the exquisite new film from writer-director Andrew Haigh, based upon a novel by Taichi Yamada – Adam (played by the beautiful, elegant Andrew Scott) makes a distressing and heartbreaking discovery while exploring an unfamiliar room in his near-vacant apartment building.
As Adam enters this room, Haigh and cinematographer Jamie M. Ramsay linger over his shocked expression. The camera places him at right, with negative space hovering between his gaze and that terrible surprise, to the left, which is physically out of frame.
For a time, watching this shot, which lasts for quite a while, I cowered in my seat. I did not want to see whatever it was that Adam was looking at. I sensed what it was, and did not need to see it. I directed my eyes toward the corner of the auditorium, with the theater screen in my peripheral, to avoid direct engagement with the terrible thing once Mr. Haigh finally cut to it.
Yet he never did cut to it. The shot continued, focused entirely on Adam, until he stepped closer towards the terrible thing. At that point, just enough of the thing appeared in frame to confirm my suspicions. But neither Haigh nor Ramsay subjected me or anyone else in the audience to the gratuity, to the shock of that thing which Adam had uncovered. They never forced it on us.
I can’t begin to express my admiration for Mr. Haigh’s choice. It is a rare thing for a filmmaker to refrain from showing something carnal or violent onscreen – to not, in fact, seek out an opportunity to do so. Usually, whenever someone is attacked or killed or found dead in movies, it is an elaborate tableau of guts and blood.
Not so here. Like everything else in All of Us Strangers, Andrew Haigh handles the difficult or crushing moments with grace. He honors his characters’ dignity, and allows them room to remain embodied. Without dismemberment, or voyeuristic exploitation.
I’m tempted to say that this relationship to visual material represents a distinctly gay point of view. Mr. Haigh is gay, as is Adam, as is the man who plays him; this is in and of itself an unusual configuration for a Hollywood movie: to have maker, character, and performer alike all identify as gay. It means that many of the common reference points cherished by male directors – fetishized women, aggressive behavior, combative worldviews – fall by the wayside.
In their place? A regard for male beauty. Slow, contemplative action. Healing, not conquest, as the primary objective.
It may be an oversimplification to say so, but I regard All of Us Strangers as the best in what queer commercial filmmaking might offer: delicacy, honesty, and human consideration. I agree with everything that Andrew Haigh says and does in this movie.
And while we’re extolling exemplars in queer artistry, let’s delegate some verbiage to Mr. Andrew Scott. It may simply be that I identify with his character – a gay man who spends most of his time alone, writing screenplays and mulling over his past – but I consider this the gentlest, most alluring of performances. He emits the modest gentility of James Mason; he blinks and breathes with gentlemanly yet frank clarity. He is gorgeous.
And he is flanked by Paul Mescal, as his lover, matched by Claire Foy and Jamie Bell, as his parents. All reached for, all tentatively available to him. All resplendent performers, all present for their roles. Their individual beauty coalesces in a collective, intimate grandeur. I am in love with them all, and I am in love with the process of healing Adam undertakes as he encounters them.
All of Us Strangers is basically a chamber drama, unfolding in one man’s imagination. Its disciplined humility expands with the skyline outside Adam’s window, so that what functions as a limited portrait of grief becomes epic. It is harrowing and reassuring all at once.
A blessing, this. I respect it. I am grateful it exists.'

y/n discovers that she is pregnant of twins and she wants to announce it to jamie but she’s afraid that it’ll be too much and too fast between them
ahhh everytime i go to write some older requests i always get caught up in the newer ones and write them instead... i just can't help it!!
Tumblr media
Too Soon- Jamie Campbell Bower x Reader
୨♡୧ warnings: mentions of sex (nothing graphic!)
୨♡୧ note: i've read the entire city of bones book today... i told myself i was going to write some older requests and that happens :)
It had been just over a year since Jamie had asked you to move in with him, after 8 months of dating. You had both been criticised for taking things ‘too fast’ in your relationship by the media, but neither of you cared what they had to say- it was your lives after all.
Everything in your relationship was as perfect as it could be, you rarely had arguments and when you did you would both talk through them and be reasonable, you shared the housework and you’d go on regular dates. You were both the happiest you had been in a very long time- but you were worried that your recent discovery was going to change everything between you two.
You had missed your period.
Although Jamie makes sure he always uses protection when you two have sex, you understood that it’s not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. At first, you thought nothing of it. But when you still had not gotten your period after another 3 weeks, you began to panic.
“Where are you going, love?” Jamie asked, seeing you slip your shoes on and pick up your car keys.
“Oh, just to… the shops, I need a new… deodorant.” You cursed yourself for being such a bad liar, but Jamie- who had split his attention between you and the show he was watching- didn’t really notice.
“Okay, do you want me to come with-”
“No, no! I’ll just be two minutes! I promise,” you rush around trying to find your purse so you can leave as soon as possible, without your boyfriend. “Okay, I’ll be back soon, love you! Bye!” Your words muddled together as you worked quick to shut the door behind you, not giving Jamie a chance to say anything as you rushed to your car.
—————————♡—————————
You had bought three pregnancy tests, in hopes that if one said positive then the other two would come back negative. You had also bought a birthday card, in case anybody recognised you in the store and decided to post about it on social media- you weren’t going to let Jamie find out about your possible pregnancy via twitter.
When you got back home you were relieved to see Jamie had fallen asleep on the sofa, this gave you some time to take the tests without him having to know you were even home.
You locked the bathroom door, placing the shopping bag in the sink and taking the three boxes out. You also took a plastic cup you had spare from a party Jamie threw you for your birthday, as you read the instructions on one of the tests and it said to pee in a cup first.
After peeing in the cup, you unboxed the first test and dipped the end into the cup for a few seconds. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest as you laid it on the counter by the sink and unboxed the second test as you waited for the results- you would only use the third if they showed different results. One line meant it was negative, two meant it was positive.
You sat on the bathroom floor, your knees pressed to your chest as you waited for the results. Your stomach twisting and turning with nerves, yet also excitement- but mostly nerves. Covering your eyes with one hand, you reached for one of the tests with the other. You felt like you could be sick.
Two lines.
Dropping the first test to the floor, your hands lightly shook as you reached for the second one.
Two lines.
—————————♡—————————
“Is everything okay, darling?” Jamie asked, cuddling up next to you in your bed. It had been two days since you took the tests and you have been trying to think of all the ways you could tell Jamie. Every time you had the chance, you got too nervous and blurted out nonsense instead.
“Yeah.” You whispered back to him, “I’m just tired.”
“C’mon, love. I know you well enough to tell when you’re lying. What’s wrong?” He asks once more, his face buried in your neck, placing delicate kisses on your skin.
“I need to tell you something. Something quite… big. And I need you to stay calm and just listen to me, okay?” You finally say, sitting up.
“Of course, what is it?” The entire atmosphere in the room changed, it was too late now to come up with any excuses, there was no turning back.
“So,” you take a deep breath, your voice already shaky,  “my period was late. I thought nothing of it at first, but then I began to worry. I bought three pregnancy tests and t-two of them said positive so I-” you couldn’t hold back the tears anymore as they began to roll down your face.
Jamie was silent, you worried as you felt him move- thinking he was going to get up and leave.
“Baby, that’s… I don’t have the words, I’m… that’s incredible!” Jamie grinned, pulling you towards him and burying your head in his chest, noticing his eyes began to fill with tears.
“You’re not angry?”
“Darling, why would I be angry? I’ve always wanted children.”
“I was worried, I thought maybe you would think it’s too early for us.”
“No, no! This is perfect, really- You do want to keep it, right? Because it’s entirely up to you, love, I’ll be there for you either way.”
“I do,” you smile, looking up at Jamie, “I really do.”
“Then it looks like we’re going to be having a baby,” he whispers, a wide grin spreading across his face before he kisses your forehead. “We’ll call the doctor sometime this week, so they can confirm it, that’s what happens, isn’t it?”
“I don’t know, baby, I’ve not been pregnant before,” you chuckle. “Imagine if we have twins!”
“I’ve always wanted twins. I can just imagine two little versions of us running about, they’d be so cute!” Jamie squeals, playing with your hair as he tells you about what he imagines your lives would be like with twins.

Can you summarize the Peter stuff from last night?
I can try, but it’s definitely still a work in progress theory that @aemiron-main and i just went absolutely nuts over lmao
essentially, there are 4 different mentioned peters in the show; the unidentified peter that works at the lab, owens’ unidentified son, peter bingham, and petey mchew. there’s also a 5th peter who wasn’t mentioned in the show, peter ballard. that was the cover name used for jamie’s audition for henry creel
when trying to make connections between each of the different peters, there was only one connecting force; henry. the problem was that the qualities of this mysterious peter character didn’t completely match up with henry himself. things like being scared of victor and having curse symptoms didn’t align, and the loose connections suggesting henry might be peter fell apart pretty quickly. peter is a character who is intrinsic to henry’s story but couldn’t be henry himself
one of my anons suggested that peter could’ve been a boy from henry’s past, specifically one he was romantically involved in. things started making more sense like the fear of victor as well as the possibility that peter was owens’ son which is could be why owens is so heavily connected to the creel family. there ended up being a lot of evidence suggesting henry and peter may have met at a “summer camp” run by brenner, possibly having tried to escape together
we also found that peter is likely to be mike’s parallel, or an antithesis, similar to how henry is will’s antithesis. both peter and michael are saints, and we see a painting of saint michael in the russian church. saint peter is said to have had a vision in which he saw an apocalypse where blasphemers and liars were punished for their false words and those given power above others, like rich people, were made to be forced to live the lives of the people below them. this is something we see in henry’s goals, having killed many people who were considered normal/privileged by society and targeting those who lie about themselves. saint peter also saw a heavenly bliss for those who deserved to be saved, and we see henry trying to have will and el join him because they are above other people in his eyes, they deserve to have power. as for saint michael, it’s important to note that he was said to battle with satan and the religious imagery in s4 turns henry into a metaphorical satan and all the sword hints towards mike and saint michael having a sword really connects the two
this is more of a concept, but it’s also possible that when henry takes mike he’ll hold him captive in a crucifixion, as is suggested with the cross imagery associated with mike in s4. that’s important because saint peter was killed via crucifixion and because of the connections between peter and henry as well as henry’s constant eye over mike, carefully watching him since the start of the show, henry may project his own grief and rage onto mike and will’s relationship. henry has become the very monster he hated, and as such he may be seeking to use mike and his life against will to make will see how unfair the world is and how it needs to be changed as a way to convince him to join him
em also found some major tommy parallels that you should ask him about!!
there are some other details, but i think that sums up the majority of it!! i’ve been posting peter stuff under ‘#peter owens’ and stuff specific to discoveries under ‘#petergate’
