This is a hill I'll die on: Vecna/One still has a massive exploitable soft spot for El.

Between:

The way he immediately swaps from pissy/killer mode to "augh...why are you crying..." when he spots El in 4.07

The way he seems completely incapable of getting around to physically harming her in any lasting way

The VR game Shadow Brenner telling Vecna that El's a weakness for him/She makes him emotional

The way he treats her in non-massacre NINA and TFS scenes

I feel like it's a pretty safe bet that deep down he's still very much attached to her.

u ever think about how “henry’s” “retelling” barely matches up and the dialogue and flashbacks tell different stories and then u remember that the entire time you’re watching little henry it’s literally part of nancy’s vecna trance. like ik vecna tells nancy true future events but….. cmon how much of it is even real it’s a vecna trance!!! he can show her ANYTHING he wants

and you ask yourself why tf is it that the scene of el opening every door and it’s the rainbow room every time parallels nancy breaking through this door and suddenly she’s back to the tattoo room ? even though el is in nina and nancy is in a trance ??

and how once nancy is led back to that room she’s faced with a vecna-ified brenner

and then once she sees him the lights flicker extremely similar to how they do with el and one here

and when the lights come back on nancy is faced with just vecna and el is faced with that weird green-screened one……

and then u think about all the brenner/vecna paralells such as this one i just discovered:

and how he can literally manipulate el’s memories while she’s in nina to make her see ANYTHING he wants

I have so many questions

How did El recognize Will in the picture when she had literally never met him?

Why is it that Vecna absolutely does not want to kill Will, when Barb is in the UD, she immediately dies, whilst Will survives for a full 2 weeks

And we know the demogorgan is 'hungry for blood', but Will was not bleeding, even Hopper says to Joyce that there was no blood on his bike

Will says to Owens that 'the evil' wants to 'kill', not him, but everybody else

also, how the hell did Will know to sing his favourite song, and how the hell did he know how to communicate through Joyce with the lights? (*cough* flickergate)

why is Mike late for something in the opening of every season? it's almost as if time is running out (for him)

and how the hell did Will manage to talk to Joyce through the wall, we haven't seen anyone do that besides El lmao, the Hawkins crew had to go to through one of the gates in order to go to the upside down, Will didn't go through any gate lol??

also, we know that something took Will, suspiciously, it cuts to the light shining instead of letting us see what actually happens

but how did Will manage to hide?

we know Will is good at hiding, but nobody can outrun a demogorgan, they immediately kill

it's just a bit strange, ykwim?

it's a bit weird because when upside down, they're just taken there and killed, but something different happened with Will, was it Vecna who like, gently coerced him into hiding in castle byers? lmao, that doesn't sound like something that would happen

and ALSO ALSO

Yk how I said it's suspicious that the camera just zooms into the light, and then the next shot we see that Will is just, gone

he just disappeared into thin air

well

the same thing happens to Barb!! except, well Barb immediately dies

yk what I'm talking about right? when Jonathan is taking pictures, we see Barb, we see the blood droplets in the pool, and then we see Jonathan get distracted, and when he looks back into the direction of the pool, she's just not there

we've never, never seen someone just disappear like that, as far as I know

the only way we see people physically in the UD is when they actually go through the gate, otherwise their body is still in the real world, like Chrissy and Max, and even Will in season 2

it's just weird to me that this happens twice, except the fact that Will doesn't die and Barb does almost immediately

anyway this is sooooo random but thoughts were just running through my brain and I needed to write them down lol

70s au where college drop out mike is in a very rough spot, has recently been evicted from his apartment, barely has money to get food, and has absolutely no idea what he wants to do with his life.

however, he doesn't want to prove his dad right by asking his family for help or moving back home, so instead he decides to "join" a cult just so he can get free housing and food, vowing to never fall prey to the cult's insane ideology for he is well aware of their intentions and he considers himself smart enough to resist.

so he plays along, pretends he believes their religious doomsday delusions, does his chores with a constant smile on his face, then retreats to his bedroom to read scientific journals or walks around the nearby town in search of a job and cheap housing.

all is going well, mike's plan is working,,, until he meets henry, a charming young man who claims to only be there temporality as he tries to get his footing before going back to college to study physics. who mike bonds with remarkably well and enjoys spending time with, and with whom he has intellectual debates about the three body problem, the lord of the rings, and other equally nerdy topics (which he could never talk to anyone about before).

henry, who quickly becomes mike's best friend,,,

,,,and who is actually the fabled edward —the elusive leader of the cult mike hadn't met yet—, who immediately caught on to mike's little plan and decided to personally break and brainwash him so that mike can perform the most critical task in the cult:

kidnap will byers, son of the original leader of the cult and final sacrifice edward needs to perform before he and the congregation can fulfil their true purpose and bring forth the apocalypse.

- the end -

(once mike brings will into the cult voluntarily (since his situation was also not ideal and mike really sold the whole "tricking the cult" thing), will is quick to recognise the dangers of staying too long and successfully convinces mike of leaving together, not knowing that edward's programmed too many secret triggers in mike's vulnerable mind to count and thus, not knowing that mike's been fully conditioned to follow edward's every command once the man decides he's had his fun playing around with his little puppet.)

look a lot of the time I don’t fully understand the timeline and henward theories bc understanding them would require me to rewatch the show way more than I have time for but I will say that I think it’s weird asf that that one newspaper clipping said Edward Creel when none of the Creel’s are named Edward and then one of the characters that died in s4 was named Eddie and I think ignoring that is silly and contradictory to what we’ve all been saying abt byler evidence for a year+ at this point

Sharing one of my personal theories about Henry Creel’s body (where he is physically) and what they’re gonna do with him next season

🚨Okay, I feel the need to mention this thought process is only halfway complete, and I’ll probably add more onto it at some point, as well as reword this in the future to be more consumable but I need to get this down, in no way do I promise this to be good, also srry if people have already talked about this before, I don’t know every single post on this website, but I don’t wish to just make a shitty copy of someone else’s work🚨

Okay down to business

One of my personal theories is that Henry’s body is somehow in a coma similar to Max’s (El being unable to find Max in the “darkness”, El searching for Henry “in the darkness”, Papa saying El could “get lost in the darkness”)

Henry and Max being lost in the darkness, and El having to find them both

The main difference between them is that Henry was “plugged” into Nina well Max isn’t. Henry is being run through simulations well Max is merely “lost”.

@aemiron-main (srry for the @ but I gotta give credit where credits due) mentioned before that because we have reason to believe the Void exists in a place beyond space and time, we can assume that Nina could somehow be connected to the void (Nina and the void are NOT the same thing, but exist simultaneously through one another, through Henry)

Which MEANS well El is looking for Max in the darkness, she could very well finally find Henry there, especially if El did succeed in breaking the simulation last season (I haven’t done in-depth reads on any analysis on this yet so I’ll get back to this point in the future) because if El did manage it, that means that Henry is more then likely wondering/is lost in the darkness like how Max is.

Hell because of the connection between Henry and Vecbrenward ™️ it’s possible that he’s been at least somewhat “consumed” in the way that Henward describes in Nina, (“they’re still with me Eleven”) in the same way Max has been. Which means Henry’s physical body could very well be in a coma-type state in The Lab (like Max’s) well being “lost” in Nina. And thats why Henry was able to interact with El well Max isn’t, because of the Nina simulation specifically

There’s also a possibility that because of this, Eleven might have to lean on the lab (one of the many Brenners) AGAIN to be able to get Max back, to be able to connect her mind to a simulation so she can talk to her

Hdjrkjrkf I’m getting off track

So for season 5 I could see Henry being able to connect to Max, through the void, they might be able to communicate in a way about Vecna, about the void. I could totally see it being framed towards the audience in a way that Henry is trying to “manipulate” Max. Henry showing Max what actually happened to him. He may be able to connect El TO Max through piggy-backing logic. Henry and Max existing simultaneously in the same spot beyond time and space

Henry, El, and Max having to work together to wake both him and Max up
