Sibling: Wait, if the new order of the stone is supposed to line up with the members of the old one, then Axel is Magnus, Olivia is Elleguard, Petra is Gabriel, and that leaves Soren and Ivor. Of those two, Jesse has got to be Soren, but that leaves Lukas as Ivor. And like, Lukas CAN'T be the brewer, I don't even think he drinks!
Me: Though Ivor and Lukas definitely both fill the role of being the group's manwhore.

Just because it got mentioned, I actually recommend the 'Rise of the Archillager' book! I haven't fully read it myself, but it does indeed give an insight to villagers and illager mentality.
Villagers are overwhelmingly often headcanoned to be under some sort of virtue, oath or vow to never use violence (maybe with exception of defending themselves or their loved ones), much in contrast to their rough, hostile counterparts the illagers who even fight and bully amongst themselves (at least Archies tribe seemed so in the book). Villagers value hospitality, community, peacefulness. o3o
Although they can have negative views on things like players (heroes in dungeons) or illagers, they don't physically fight them. Just make remarks and are relieved when the leave.
There's also a headcanon I saw somewhere that those who went against the vow or otherwise did something ill-willed, undesired, they'd become nitwits and wear green robes (not sure if that changed in the villager rework, probably, yeah), just to signify their lower status now. They can't have jobs or contribute to the community no more. Like a soft banishment. (just mentioned it because I think it makes some semblance of sense)
Since villagers are largely about community, it does make sense that they have tight-knitted relationships and expectations/rules. Of course it can differ from village to village, from villager to villager, from biome to biome- but most agree, villagers are altogether the most peaceful kind to find.
Just imagine, players and villagers don't even speak the same language (canon) and they still agree to trade and welcome them, even if it's understandably a scary encounter since Players/Heroes are alien and unpredictable to them! Dangerous! o0o
Does make one think! owo
ANONYMOUS SENT AN ASK .
Tumblr media
first and foremost -- the green robes thing. i don't know if that would necessarily be true. at least in ivor's case. the idea of it happening could be true i mean, but i don't think they did that to ivor. i don't agree with how fanon calls him arrogant and entitled -- i just think he knows his stuff and knows his worth. but there are multiple times where he admits that there are people out there who are better at things than him. regardless, he is the best potion brewer in the world and he knows that. he owns up to it and loves it. if the villagers were to make him an outcast and they were given green robes, ivor would no longer wear the green robe he wears now. if in fact, he was given that from a village. especially since he knows that he's excellent at what he does. at least in my backstory, the moment he knew his mentor was fucking him over, he wouldn't wear those robes anymore. he would even wear his silly undergarments compared to that robe. because to him, it would be taught as a symbol of weakness. and ivor knows he isn't weak with his passions.
and yes, i am aware that they speak a different language! i know that the minecraft logic in mcsm is a little different. because milk can cure wither sickness, there is no such thing as a formidi-bomb, and jesse could have mined above the lava to save xara after drinking milk to get rid of the wither sickness. like, there are so many loopholes in the story that could have easily been solved. or situations that can just never happen. i take that into account always, but i still make it so that ivor can craft potions and enchantments you can't normally do. that's one of his shticks!
but in mcsm there is a villager. nurm. he doesn't speak english, but jack can understand him. and nurm can make body language clues to help make jesse understand him better. considering the history that my ivor has, i imagine that either his mentor knew of the languages that the human spoke of or ivor learned the villager language. i wouldn't be surprised if he learned the villager language; he is very adept with history so he would want to connect with villagers, especially clerics, to learn more about the past of the world and their history. see if there's anything he can learn or grow more with.
as much as i hate the gimmick they did with season 2 ivor and making him a ninja, he does hint in the scene of saving nurm that he can discuss and talk with nurm because he thought with him about a plan to escape. so he knows the villager language. so regardless of whether or not his history was within a village, he does know his way around talking to them. (though frankly the scene also makes him out to be puffy and overexaggerated, which he wouldn't normally do unless he's super duper excited about something but that only comes with alchemy/enchanting/exploring)
i'm sure that ivor's mentor had to have a big talk with the village about letting him in. but this is something that i really want someone else to work with, right? i want to rp with the mentor i made for him and have someone flesh out the character. i want to give this character to someone for free. if villagers are meant to be peaceful, what made him an absolute piece of shit? is he just racist and hates humans? does he have his own history of abuse? i want to see someone flesh this character out. partly because i don't know the BASE minecraft lore all too well, but mostly because i want to give his mentor out for free and have fun building the character and the village they're in with someone. did his mentor automatically accept ivor's parent's request? did he take his time?
in any case, ivor definitely knows his way around villages and villagers. if you take the backstory i made for him or not, he definitely at least goes there to trade and to learn from them. he is super interested in their culture, the history of the world, and what makes them who they are. to me, the best way to make sense of his love for knowledge would be to have him be taught in a village for years.

Headcanon: Jesse is very sensitive to smells.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She has an extreme reaction to certain smells compared to other characters. Sometimes her hypersensitivity to smells distracts her and stresses her out. But sometimes it's a nifty feature that helps her identify things like potions and stuff.
Goes in hand with my other headcanon about her being an amateur potion brewer. Doesn't do much potions herself but enjoys the science of it. Every potion has a special smell to it as demonstrated by Ivor.
Tumblr media
And Jesse can identify them easily if she knows the ingredients. Having Ivor around definitely helped her learn more about potion brewing than she could ever do on her own.

i think the contrast between potions & the command block is especially interesting. soren describes needing the command block bc it ""gave them an edge"" but they HAVE an incredible potion brewer in their team. ivor also seems to have a special affinity for buffing potions; swiftness, leaping, invisibility, etc. with the use of it on the end dragon being the most extreme its more obvious why soren would be using it (as a cheat; and because he didn't trust his friends to be able to win). however for the way he described using it in other situations it does make me question the reliance on it vs the block seemingly doing things potions could easily accomplish.

MCSM Origins Book I: Enter Lapilisia Lazul - Part 2
Summary:
Lapis and Emerl arrive in the Nether to find Magnus and Ellegaard, two members of the Order of the Stone, fighting some ghasts. After aiding in their defeat, Lapis receives an offer that chnages everything.
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter: Here
Next Chapter: Here
Lapis held tightly to the edges of the minecart as she prepared herself mentally for whatever chaos was awaiting her and Emerl. Lapis was sure that if she had a heart, it’d be beating out of her chest. As the carts got closer, Lapis and Emerl heard the cries of the ghasts, explosions and yelling.
“Magnus, watch where you’re exploding those things!”
“Hey, it’s not my fault you keep getting in the way!”
Lapis heard Emerl sigh as she muttered, “Those two, I swear…” Emerl then turned back to face Lapis, “Get ready! It’s showtime!”
The carts turned a corner and grinded to a stop as Emerl noticed a large crater where the tracks should be. Floating above were three ghasts – one with two arrows in it. Another arrow just barely grazed the ghast as Lapis turned to see where it had come from. Bow and arrow in hand, Lapis saw a woman with brown hair and pale skin, wearing brown, black and gold armour with redstone embedded in the chest armour, along with brown pants and dark red boots.
Tumblr media
“Fire in the hole!!!”
Lapis jumped in surprise as a TNT block went flying into one of the ghasts, destroying it. Standing behind what looked like a hastily-put-together TNT cannon was a bald man with a black bandanna tied around his head with holes for his eyes. He wore green armour with a leather belt and four yellow buttons on his chest, along with brown and gold gloves and boots.
Tumblr media
“Ha! What were you saying, Ellie?” Magnus yelled with a cocky smirk. Emerl saw one of the ghasts launch a fireball at Magnus. “Magnus, heads up!” Emerl yelled out as she dived between Magnus and the fireball, blocking it with her shield. “Nice timing, Emerl.” Ellegaard nodded to the emerald Gem as she aimed her bow at the ghasts, “These ghasts ambushed us while we were building the rails.”
“Where’s Ivor, Soren and Gabriel?” Emerl yelled out as she reflected another fireball with her shield. “Up ahead finishin’ the rails!” Magnus replied as he loaded another stack of TNT into the cannon, “They told us to distract while they finish it off.” Magnus noticed Lapis as she climbed – albeit clumsily – out of the minecarts, “Who’s the noob?”
“That’s Lapis. I found her while patrolling the forest.” Emerl replied before turning to Lapis, “Alright, Lapis. Show me what you got!”
“R-right!” Lapis stuttered as she summoned her weapon. It was a long whip with small blue crystals encrusted in the whip. The handle was also blue with golden markings. Lapis held onto the handle with both hands as she wound back and flung the whip forward like a fishing rod. It wrapped itself around one of the ghast’s tentacles. Lapis ran over to where Emerl, Magnus and Ellegaard was and began pulling the whip towards her, reeling in the ghast, “I got it! Go ham on it before it destroys us!”
“Not bad, kid!” Magnus smirked as he launched another TNT at the trapped ghast, destroying it. “One more left!” Emerl called out. “Look out!” Ellegaard yelled as the last ghast fired a fireball at the group. “I got it! Stand back!” Lapis flung her whip at the fireball, causing it to wrap around it. She spun it around like in hammer-toss, until she finally released it – falling onto the ground in the process – and the fireball went hurtling back towards the ghast, killing it. Lapis breathed heavily as she got to her feet, staring at where the ghast once was. “Ok…that was pretty freakin’ awesome!” Magnus laughed as he gave Lapis a hearty slap on the back, causing her to stumble a bit, “What was your name again, kid?”
“Lapilisia Lazul.” Lapis replied with a smile, “But you can call me Lapis.”
“Pleasure to meet you, Lapis.” Ellegaard gave a small smile as she walked up to her, “My name is Ellegaard, and the reckless nutcase here is Magnus.”
“Well, at least I’m not an egghead know-it-all!” Magnus argued.
“Oh, is that the best argument you could think of? Maybe if you emptied all that gunpowder out of your head, you could actually make a logical thought.”
“Well your head is so full of redstone, I sometimes wonder if you’re actually human and not some redstone creation!”
Lapis glanced back and forth between Magnus and Ellegaard as they argued before turning to Emerl, “Are they-”
“Always like this? Yep.” Emerl finished with a sigh before interrupting the two bickering humans, “If you two aren’t busy acting like children, the rails got damaged during the fight and need to be fixed before the others get back.”
“Oh, of course.” Ellegaard nodded as she walked away from Magnus who just glared at her, “This ain’t over, Ellie!”
“It never is…” Emerl muttered under her breath as she went to help Ellegaard with the rails. “So you’re like Emmie, eh?” Magnus asked, motioning to her gemstone, “My guess is a Lapis?”
“Nope. Azurite.” Lapis grinned. “Oh. I thought since your name is Lapis, it’d be a…” Magnus seemed genuinely surprised but was cut off by Lapis giggling, “I’m just kidding. I’m a Lapis Lazuli.”
“Yeah, I knew that! I was just…playing along! Yeah!” Magnus grinned smugly, “Anyways, I’m Magnus – greatest griefer in the world and king of Boomtown. Ellie over there is our redstone nerd and ruler of Nerdtopia.”
“Redstonia!” Ellegaard called over her shoulder. Magnus just stuck his tongue out at her, earning a chuckle from Lapis. “I can hear your insufferable bickering from down the rails!” A voice called out as three minecarts clattered down the rails just as Ellegaard and Emerl finished the repairs. The first to climb out, who Lapis assumed was the one who called out, was a man with long, slick black hair, an unkept beard, and pale skin that looked like it hadn’t seen the sun in years. He wore a long olive coat with black shoes and a leather belt with a lapis stone on it.
Tumblr media
“At least you managed to get rid of the ghasts. I would’ve been able to take them on, but we needed to finish the rails first.” A man with dark skin, dark brown eyes and a dark moustache said as he climbed out of the cart. He wore dark blue armour with diamonds embedded in it.
Tumblr media
Another man with ginger hair with a moustache and beard with tanned leather armour, grey gloves and pants climbed out behind him, “Well, we got the rails to the ice spikes portal finished, that’s the important part.”
Tumblr media
“Glad to hear that the rail is the important part and not the fact that we nearly got roasted by ghasts.” Magnus rolled his eyes as he folded his arms. “You know Soren didn’t mean it like that, Magnus.” Emerl sighed. Ivor glanced at Lapis, “And who’s this?”
“Uh, hi! I’m Lapis! And I guess you’re Ivor?” Lapis smiled. “How’d you guess that?” Ivor asked narrowing his eyes at the Gem. “Emerl said Ivor was a person who looked super grumpy but was actually really nice.”
“W-WHAT?!” Ivor seemed taken aback, his face turning red, as Emerl turned away quickly to hide her face from Ivor. Magnus burst into laughter as Gabriel, Soren and Ellegaard chuckled a little. “Oh…oh geez! That face…haha!!” Magnus wheezed while pointing at Ivor, “Lapis, that was awesome!”
“I mean…she’s not wrong, Ivor.” Soren shrugged. Ivor just shot him a glare before sighing, “Let’s just head back before more of those ghast show up.”
Lapis went to follow the rest of the Order back to the carts when her gem and eyes suddenly began to glow. Lapis saw herself push Magnus out of the way as a fireball hit her in the shoulder, causing her to poof. Lapis snapped out of her vision and sighed, “Poofed twice in one day? It’s better than that time I was poofed five times in that tournament back home…” Lapis climbed into one of the minecarts as she and the Order zoomed back to where the main portal was.
 ————————————————————
“So you survived the creeper explosion, but was poofed by hitting the ground?”
“Yep. Pretty silly, huh?”
Emerl and Lapis were explaining how they met as they approached the portal. “Don’t beat yourself up.” Ellegaard replied, “Emerl once got poofed by a baby pigman on our first trip to the Nether after beating a large army of them.”
“The lil’ brat snuck up on me! How was I supposed to see him?!” Emerl called from the back of the carts, earning a laugh from the rest of the group. “I have to say, however,” Ellegaard continued, “Your skills were pretty impressive back there.”
“Aw, ‘twas nothin’” Lapis blushed a light shade of blue – which made her gold freckles stand out – as she scratched the back of her neck sheepishly. “Whoa! Cool markings, kid.” Magnus pointed out, looking at Lapis over his shoulder. “Oh, you mean my freckles?” Lapis asked, motioning to the small golden dots on her cheek, “Some lapis Gems have gold markings or specks on their gems that carry over to their physical form. And I’m one of them. It’s pretty rare back home, so I’m pretty proud of my babies!”
Magnus laughed as Lapis poked both of her cheeks and stuck out her tongue. “So where are you off to next?” Gabriel asked. “Dunno.” Lapis shrugged, “I’ve been kinda wandering aimlessly ever since I got here.”
“Well, if you like,” Soren began, “From what Emerl, Magnus and Ellegaard are saying, you seem like a capable fighter, and I’m sure Emerl wouldn’t mind the extra pair of hands. You could stay with the Order if you want.”
“Really?” Lapis exclaimed, “Th-that’s alright with-?”
Lapis was cut off by a familiar cry from behind as the carts arrived at the steps to the portal. “Uh oh. We have company!” Emerl called out, seeing a ghast giving chase to them. “Quick! To the portal!” Gabriel yelled as everyone clambered out of the carts and dashed up the steps. As the Order began to jump through the portal, Lapis remembered her vision and quickly ran at Magnus, “Magnus, watch out!” She pushed Magnus out of the way as the fireball slammed into her shoulder and poofed her, sending her gem clattering onto the ground. “Lapis!” Magnus exclaimed as he quickly grabbed her gem and dashed into the portal after the rest of the Order.
Upon reaching the other side, Emerl glanced around to make sure everyone got through, “Wait. Where’s Lapis?”
“I have her.” Magnus replied, holding up Lapis’s gem, “She got poofed saving me from that ghast. It was kinda weird though. It was like she knew it was gonna happen.”
“That’s because Lapis is a Shard like me. Except her power is the ability to see future events before they happen.” Emerl explained. As she said this, Lapis’s gem began to glow brightly. “Um, Magnus? You might wanna put the gem-” Emerl was cut off as Lapis reformed and landed right on top of Magnus.
“ACK!”
“OOF!”
“…down.” Emerl finished with a sigh. Lapis rubbed her forehead before noticing she was on top of Magnus and quickly got off him with a small blush on her face before helping him up, “Er, sorry! Are you okay?”
“Yep, I’m good!” Magnus replied, dusting himself off, “I’ve had worse.”
“He’s not joking about that, by the way.” Ellegaard added, “He nearly dies every Tuesday.”
“I think that’s kinda exaggerating a bit.” Magnus rolled his eyes. “It’s not.” The rest of the Order replied in near unison.
“Anyway, since we were rudely interrupted by that ghast before,” Soren began, “What’s your decision, Lapis.”
“I think the proof’s in the pumpkin pie.” Emerl chuckled as she motioned to Lapis’s robes. They were the same as before, but now bore the same symbol Emerl had on her cloak, except hers was blue and gold. Lapis smiled proudly and nodded. “Alright!” Magnus laughed as he wrapped an arm around the gem and gave her a noogie, “Welcome to the Order, kid!” Lapis laughed before being eventually released from Magnus’s noogie hold. She could feel excitement bubble up within her. This was the beginning of a brand-new adventure…
…but not in the way she was expecting.
 To Be Continued...

OH SHIT I FORGOT I FORGOT TO DUMP ABT MY S3 SOREN WHOOPS
OKAY SO first of all I want to say that the biggest reason I think he'd be the final boss is because of the fact that he's literally called the Builder of Worlds in the intro of "The Order of the Stone" like. hello? sounds a little more impressive than "The Redstone Engineer," "The Rougue," and "The Warrior" imo. also, he has a book in every world in the Portal Hall + Fred's Keep, meaning that he's been to all of these seemingly impossible places only available to powerrful people (the Old Builders and the Admins). how else in the world would he be able to get to these places without being powerful himself?
also, the command block. holy shit where did it come from? you can't craft one (there's no proof Ellegaard's would've actually been crafted), so where did it come from? my answer: Soren spawned it in as a way to show off his powers without seeming like he did it on purpose. he tells Jesse that initially, the Order did actually rough it out on adventures, but once they found the command block, they began to use it and rely on it more and more. this begs the question: if Soren's so powerful, why would he go through the trouble of using it? for that, let's look at his past
in my s3, it's explained that Soren created every world, and had 3 children who created the dimensions. "The Sun" created the overworld so that the inhabitants of the worlds could live happily in the day, "The Moon" created the Nether for the adventurers of the worlds, and "The Star" who created the End for ████████████████. these three were dubbed as "The Creators," and they worked together when creating the dimensions, and sprinkled in a litte bit of each other's dimensions in each other ("The Moon" made the nights filled with monsters and filled the End with loot to entice people to journey through the dimensions, "The Sun" made glowstone/shroom lights in the Nether and made end rods in the End to show that no matter the outlook, there's always light (they also made chorus fruit in the End so that people would have something to eat), and "The Star" made the Endermen available to every dimension so that way they'd ████████)
after that, he dedicated admins for every world who would use the dimensions to sculpt the worlds how they saw fit, make/remix mobs, and add their own blocks/mechanics/etc, but most of them became corrupted, ran away, or killed. because of this, he wanted to wipe everything and start again, but he wanted to give his worlds the benefit of the doubt and so, he decided to explore them, hidden amongst the common folk
in every world he traveled to, he was alone, scrounging for resources, not able to use his powers so that he could experience life the way the people who lived on the worlds did. it was... humbling, really. not using your powers is a nice way to really feel alive after getting what you wanted with the clap of your hands for thousands of years. he ended up running into the Old Builders soon after they had formed and joined them (hence the book A Man Voyaging Forever from his time alone). it was with them that he researched and created the redstone heart (hence The Redstone Heart in Harper's lab).
he actually watched The Games (and occssionally participated in them), but once Hadrian and Mevia began to become corrupted, he and Harper dipped to Crown Mesa, where after some time, PAMA happened, and he dipped because PAMA chipping him would be catastrophic. once reaching the world where "A Portal to Mystery" takes place, he began to occasionally study enderman and followed them around, observing them in their hauntings (hence Walking Among the Enderman). unfortunately that world was difficult to really observe them because the world prefered to spawn zombies at any given chance, so he dipped again.
when he made it to Sky City, Benedict was incredibly useful to his research. he befriended Isa and asked her only for the endermen spawn eggs, and in return, he would give her information about mobs that he had acquired over the years so she could know how to get/use the best drops mobs had to offer (hence Habits of the Endermen, whixh he gifted it to her once completed) the only issue was that he couldn't fully observe them in the overworld and thus, he dipped.
that brings us to the world of Fred, Xara, and Romeo. he had joined The Oasis and befriended the admins (although they didn't know who he actually was) and was actually very close friends with Fred. Fred inspired Soren to break the cycle and start a permanent life here (hence A Brave New Enderman), but after Fred died and the world was bedrocked over, he tried to dip again, but was horrified to find that the portal he used to get there was gone. turns out when the Old Builders got to that world to kidnap competitors, they broke and replaced the portal so that it would be on the surface. with this, Soren began a quest to find the portal.
however, once he got to the surface, he had nowhere to start, so he went adventuring again to search for clues. turns out that when you don't adventure for a while, you get rusty, and he almost got seriously injured during a fight with a hoard of spider jockeys. but just when he thought he was going to get seriously hurt, someone (or rather, some people) jumped in to help. these some people where Gabriel and Ivor. the two had become adventuring buddies because Gabriel was the perfect fighter and Ivor was the perfect brewer and enchanter, and they worked really well together. Soren was invited to join the two due to his extensive knowledge of the world, and because he had the ability to be a great member physically once he got back into the swing of things. soon, Ellegaard and Magnus joined the team, and they became the "Stone Age" (this name was changed after the Ender Dragon encounter because they needed something that sounded cooler). at this point, he was quite truthfully happy
but then came the command block. Soren had always carried it as a fail-safe, but when the group began to take on more dangerous challenges and almost fatally wound themselves, he began to use the command block. he had planted it so that it had seemed like it was discovered, but he knew the truth. and with that, he began to use it. not because he wanted the easy way out like Ivor believed, but because he didn't want lose any more of his friends.
that brings us to s1. with Soren losing Magnus/Ellegaard and seeing the destruction and pain he himself had caused because of his command block, he did what he knew best and ran away, leaving his only friends to fend for themselves.
now let's talk about season 2. Ivor doesn't know where he is, but my s3 explains that Soren's lack of an appearance in s2 is because of the fact he was once again trying to run away from his problems, but he still doesn't know where the portal to the portal hall is, and was just roughing it out once again by himself. that is, until he encountered a very particular enderman that doesn't seem to be under the control of the Ender Dragon. despite this new companion, once he's heard about what happened to jesse and the admins, he realizes just how badly he set up the worlds and is back to thinking about wiping the universes clean and starting over, and now, his plan is already underway (hence why the au Jesse shows up in the first place)
now, you may be wondering "how does that make him the final boss?" well, it's simple. before he becomes the last boss of the series, there's another adventure right before it that involves "The Sun," "The Moon," and "The Star" that takes place as the first arc of the game. by the time that arc is finished with, the universes that are being wiped are getting closer and closer to the world he inhabits, making Jesse the only one able to stop him and save the day

i'm considering making ivor's young backstory something where like, he traveled a lot when he was super young, trying to search for a brewer that could teach him how to do it. and he found a villager that was super fucking intelligent, probably one of the best brewers in the world, if not the best before ivor took their place. i wanna make it so that ivor is super empathetic and super... like... emotional? but his mentor told him that if he really wants to become a strong brewer and enchanter, that he CANNOT let his emotions and empathy get in the way at all. i can already see scenes where little ivor is crying because they had to kill monsters to get the supplies, or take supplies from other animals to make the potions. i can his mentor being like "stfu and suck it up because if you wanna be good you gotta let go of your emotions and never trust anything"
which would explain why he takes time trusting people, why he became so cynical after what the order did. he thought he found people that can let him be him, but he couldn't. and he just got so fucking sick and tired of it he fell into the hatred entirely.
also explains why he has a hard time getting close or admitting liking people until later into season 1.
if jesse makes gabriel tell the truth, he would finally feel free and be able to be himself. he knows he can be emotional and happy and he can feel grief with what he does, while still being the best brewer/enchanter in the entire world.

HARVESTCRAFT AU GOGOGO
tbh i would rly like to draw it sometime... just jesse the new farmer who gets her first pig while working on beacontown’s old farm that she moved into, naming him reuben and they become the best of friends. and then meeting olivia and axel first... olivia the fledgling engineer and mechanic... im not sure what to make axel?? maybe the worker of a joke shop, or a fireworks shop :0c if that’s..... a Thing omg petra the local trade shop owner/warrior... she would def be an exclusive romantic option for girl jesse. im thinking abt mainly girl jesse bc she’s my fav jesse and i always play as her? but i feel like guy jesse would also be playable! and lukas would be his exclusive romantic option since Big Gay. i can imagine olivia, axel, and nell being marriage candidates for both girl and boy jesse.lukas and the ocelots would probably be your Big Rivals when it came to farming and crop/animal/cooking/horse race competitions and festivals maybe? (the ocelots have a specialty in each)... it’d start out as a bit of a bitter rivalry, but then lukas would slowly become your friend (and boyfriend if playing guy jesse) the more affection you rose for him. the order are probably known as legendary farmers who were skilled at everything, had the best stamina and could make golden crops and had the best equipment forged by themselves...... until ppl learn that they’re actually frauds and all their stuff is shipped in. i’m not sure what to make ivor, he would definitely be deemed as the town’s “weird guy” and probably has tips on... idk what the equivalent of a brewer would be in harvest moon omg maybe he knows a lot abt cooking? he’s also an enchanter, maybe he’d know how to make good equipment, or what equipment has the best quality to them.
radar being added in year 2 or 3? your new farming assistant! he would probably be able to help you with farming/mining/fighting monsters (okay this is getting a lil more stardew valley or rune factory but hear me out), and would generally make things a lil less stressful and time consuming. i wanna put in romeo and xara as well, but... they’re a lil more difficult, perhaps they could take place of the harvest goddess/god/king/i forgot how his name went? romeo would actually. kinda fit the harvest king from what i remember, he was also a red fiery boy.

Rebel of Sky City Ch. 1
Minecraft Story Mode Countdown – Day 5
 Disclaimer: Minecraft?  Nah, not mine!
 Chapter: 1/?
Author’s Notes:  So, I’m joining in on the Countdown to 2 for Minecraft Story Mode.  I didn’t write anything for the first four days (I’m not so good at oneshots) but I absolutely had to do something for Episode 5.  It’s my favorite!  This will be a somewhat longer story (not sure how long), so it will definitely go beyond the countdown.  This is just the first chapter.
This is based on a Sky City AU by sky-city-princess, so who was so wonderfully kind to let me use this premise, and whose Tumblr can be found at https://sky-city-princess.tumblr.com. Definitely go check it out!
 Chapter One
Jesse cringed as her stomach rumbled for the second time in half an hour.  Her quill paused as she carefully glanced up at her tutor, wondering if he heard it this time.  Ivor was busy messing with a few potion recipes, but his smirk told her that her stomach could be heard from multiple blocks away.
“Sounds like a little piggy’s getting hungry.”
Jesse glared up at him.  “Are you calling me fat?”
“Not at all.”  Ivor still didn’t look up from his work.  "Finish your test and then we can have lunch."
"Tests suck," Jesse complained as she started working again.  "It's not like I'm going to get to use these recipes anytime soon. Mother won't let me."
"Don't remind me," Ivor complained, his long nose crinkling in annoyance as he slapped the potion recipe onto the finished pile.  “I still have to wait another week before The Founder will be available to supervise my brewing."
She chuckled.  "Don’t know why.  It's not like you're going to blow anything up.  You're too good at potions, Ivor."
The royal brewer let himself smile at that comment.
"Please no talking during tests, Young Miss."  This lighter voice belonged to Reginald, the Captain of the Guard of Sky City.  He stood behind Jesse by the door leading out of the classroom.  "You need to focus."
 "Sorry."
Jesse sighed, glancing up at the iron blocks on the ceiling before she went back to finish up the recipe for bread.  She then moved on to the next, which was supposed to be mushroom soup.  This test was really more of a review than anything. Jesse had most of these memorized ages ago and she was confident she could craft any of these blindfolded, if she were ever actually given the items to do so.  But according to her mother, the future leader of Sky City was never to forget a recipe.  The people were going to depend on her for both resources and already crafted items, so she needed to know these by heart.
She finished the mushroom soup recipe and continued on to the last one, which was for a pickaxe.  This one was easy.  Two sticks in the bottom middle and exact middle, and then three pieces of material along the top tow (in this case, she was using stone).  She put the completed recipe in the pile with the rest and put down her quill.
 "Done!" Jesse declared. "Finally."
Ivor looked at her and then up at the clock on the wall.  "Well, that was faster than last time.  You can probably have a longer lunch this time before the afternoon test.  I'll grade these in the meantime, see if your speed compromised the quality of your recipes.”
Jesse groaned, not only at the Ivor’s comments, but at the fact that the practical exam would be that afternoon. She was expected to actually craft the items, but that wasn’t so bad.  What was annoying was that she was only allowed to craft under the direct supervision of her mother.
"Did I hear that right?" Speaking of whom, Jesse turned to see her mother, Isa, more commonly known as The Founder, stepping through the door into the classroom.  "You finished in record time?"
"That's what I said, Founder," Ivor replied, picking up the pile of recipes.  "Jesse's getting faster and faster all the time."
Isa smiled at her daughter. "That's good to hear. Perhaps you will have lunch with me before your practical?"
"Yeah, I'd like that," Jesse answered as she stood from her chair.
Jesse, Isa, and Reginald left Ivor to his own devices as they headed for the dining room in Sky City's palace. Jesse kept her pace behind her mother while Reginald walked behind both of them, always watching their backs.  If Reginald wasn’t on guard duty for The Founder, he was doing so for Jesse instead.  Very rarely was a different guard assigned to her, much to her irritation. It wasn’t as though Jesse didn’t like Reginald—far from it—but it would be nice to talk to someone else for once.
As they passed by the windows, Jesse glanced out to look over Sky City proper.  It was a sizable city on an even more sizable piece of floating land. According to her history books, her mother had built outwards to include several of the smaller islands into the city foundation, but that was many years ago, before Isa became too busy with citizens' requests to spend time expanding the city limits.
With the Eversource providing anything the city could need, most of the buildings were made of iron blocks and stone, with the occasional wood to make up entrances, borders and stairs. It was a sparkling, clean city, and Jesse's eyes were nearly blinded by the reflected luster from the sun.  She couldn’t help but chuckle at the various egg motifs scattered around the city, from banners to the buildings themselves.
Leave it to Mother to honor Benedict even if she has to stay in the basement, Jesse thought.  Mother can be so silly.
The citizens almost looked like dots from so high in the palace.  People were busy either talking with each other or working on booths under the supervision of Reginald's men, and there were a lot of booths to be built. The guards were relaxed but vigilant as they watched over their charges.  The laws were strict in Sky City, and they were confident no one would dare cause trouble.
Jesse couldn't help but smile as she saw the number of booths.  It was time for the Spring Festival, and the celebration would take place in a few days. It was in celebration of the days getting longer and the weather getting warmer.  It was a time of dance and revelry.  It was one of the rare times the citizens of Sky City were allowed to participate in such merriment.  Despite this, Isa still insisted on all building and crafting to be strictly monitored, regardless of what the end result was used for.
Sky City can sure be short on fun sometimes, Jesse thought sadly.
Even so, it was really nice to see children run around and play, mostly tag and hide and seek.  A few of children had the rare ball or other toy to play with, which no doubt came from a petition to The Founder from the children’ parents.  Most of them played together though, and Jesse felt a pang of jealousy.
Must be nice to have friends to play with, she thought morosely.  You don't need to craft anything to have fun then.
The Grand Garden was in the center of the city, well guarded by six of Reginald's men.  A long line of citizens stood on one side of the fence, waiting for their daily ration of food.  The people were well fed; it wasn't as though anyone went hungry.  However, Isa's imposed limits on crafting and building make it so that most people were only allowed to eat when they were given food. If a person was hungry before their designated ration time, they would just have to deal with it.
There were some people who had their own personal gardens, and sometimes they would be willing to share their crops.  This was before someone dropped a block of dirt into the Void some years ago, however, and The Founder was more and more stern about approving those kinds of petitions so resources wouldn’t be wasted in such a way ever again.     And so, waiting in line for food was the more common practice these days.
Jesse's stomach clenched, her appetite escaping her.
"Mother, why can't the people craft their own food again?"  she asked her mother, for about the billionth time in her life. "Or grow their own food?  Or raise their own animals?"
"Jesse, we've been through this many times now," Isa said.  "Building is dangerous, and crafting is dangerous.  It's better for the people to have someone watching over them so they remain unharmed.  It's for the good of the people."
Jesse let the topic drop. Yes, mother and daughter had their fair share of arguments over the rights to build being restricted.
The trio arrived in the dining room to see their lunch already waiting for them.  Isa sat at the head of the table and Jesse sat to her right. Reginald took his place to The Founder's left, although he remained standing.
"What's for lunch today?" Jesse asked as she looked over the table.  "There's a lot here."
"Beetroot soup, bread, and pumpkin pie," Isa replied, taking some of the soup for herself.
"Pumpkin pie?  Isn't that supposed to be for dessert after dinner?"
"I thought I'd give you a little reward for finishing your morning exams.”
Isa gave her daughter a smile, clearly trying to be encouraging.  Jesse smiled back.  Her mother might be strict, but she did have her own little ways of showing her love. Nevertheless, the thought that Jesse could so easily receive a special treat just reminded her how the citizens had to wait for their food.
Regardless, Jesse was hungry and she did have the practical exam that afternoon, so she dug into the beetroot soup and bread with ferocity.  Reginald smiled as he watched the two women eat, happy to see the two of them enjoy a meal together.  It was always nice to see the two of them spend time with each other, something that was becoming more and more rare as Jesse was growing older and Isa was more occupied.
The peace, sadly, was short-lived. After finishing her soup and receiving a plate of pumpkin pie, Jesse simply stared at the food.  Reginald could see her biting the inside of her cheek, and he sighed to himself.  Over the years, Reginald had plenty of time to learn Jesse's quirks and behaviors, and he knew this was a sure sign that she wanted to say something Isa wouldn't like.
"Do you have a lot of things to craft for the festival, Mother?"
"Many things, but they are all manageable," Isa replied.  "Why do you ask?"
"I was just wondering..." Now Jesse was biting her bottom lip. "Well, if you weren't too busy, maybe we could go enjoy the festival together?  Just for a little while?"
Isa sighed loud enough that the guards on the other side of the palace probably heard her.
"Jesse, we've been over this," she answered.  "It's dangerous out there.  You could be hurt by someone who doesn't agree with the necessity of our laws."
"I know, I know.  There are plenty of people who want to be able to craft whatever they want without your permission, and will do everything they can to make that happen."  Jesse had heard this explanation so many times she could recite it herself. "Even do something like hurt me. But not everyone's like that, right? Most people are nice."
"I'm not willing to take that chance," Isa disputed.  "You're safer in the palace."
"What if Reginald went with us?"  Jesse offered, waving her hand at the Captain.  "He could protect us from anyone dangerous."
Reginald barely kept his face from flushing.  "I'm honored by your confidence in me, Young Miss."
"That would simply inform them that you are my daughter, and that would cause more problems," The Founder debated back.  "I'm not about to let that happen."
"Well, you have to tell the people about me eventually!  Now’s as good a time as any.”
 “Jesse—”
“I've lived in the palace all my life, Mother!" Jesse argued, her pie forgotten.  "You're always telling me that I'll need to serve the people when you step down.  How can I do that if the people don't even know who I am?  And I don't know them?"
"You will learn soon enough," Isa said, her tone serious and final.  She wiped her mouth with a napkin and stood, Jesse following suit. "My decision is final, Jesse. Put it out of your mind.”
The Founder was on her way out of the dining room when Jesse spoke up again.
"What if I don’t want to?"
Isa paused but remained silent, and a moment later she left the room without giving her child an answer. Jesse sat down again and put a hand to her forehead.  Reginald tried to give her an encouraging smile, but Jesse wasn't even looking at him.
"Young Miss, you don't need to worry so much," he said finally after minutes of stillness between them.  "Your mother is simply thinking about what's best for me."
"What she thinks is best for me might not be what I need.  Did anyone ever think of that?" Jesse let out a long groan of annoyance. "Mother never lets me do anything. Nothing helpful anyway.  I learn how to build, how to craft and all this stuff, but I can’t even go talk to the someone on the street?”
Reginald put a hand on her shoulder. “She’s just trying to keep you safe.”
"I guess so."  She started poking at her pumpkin pie, which by this point had lost all its heat and had become a crumbly mess.  "But what does that have to do with me not meeting the people?  Does anyone even know I exist?  That The Founder has a daughter?"
The Captain of the Guard sighed. "I know it's frustrating, but--"
"And what about when Mother has an audience with someone?" Jesse interrupted.  "People come into the palace all the time to petition for resources, but I'm never allowed to be there.  I'm always stuck in my room!  As if anyone would try anything in the palace when they’re surrounded by guards."
Reginald didn't have a response to that.  Truly, it would be helpful both to the people and to Jesse herself if she could be involved in the petitioning process, at the very least.  It was one of the most common thing Isa did these days, and it would give Jesse experience she would no doubt need when she became leader.
"I'm not even allowed to visit Benedict anymore!" she ranted on, throwing her arms in the air.  "She's stuck down there in that basement all by herself!  She's probably just as lonely as I am!"
"Yes, being the Eversource might be just as tedious as being the Founder's daughter," Ivor's voice called out as he entered the room.  "Sometimes I think you should team up with that chicken and run away.”
"Ivor, please don't start that again," Reginald begged.  "It's hard enough to convince Jesse not to do anything rash--"
"I'm not being rash!" the young woman debated.  The two men stared at her following her outburst, and Jesse immediately deflated. She crossed her arms on the table and hid her face in them.  “It’s just…I'm tired of being by myself all the time.  Mother never lets me hang out with anyone other than you two.  I don’t have anyone to talk to or anything. I...I’m really tired of being so alone.”
Reginald lowered his gaze for a moment before giving her a pleading expression.  "Your mother loves you and she doesn't want anything to happen to you. None of us do.  You know that, right?"
"I know,” she said, her tone much more quiet and respectful this time as she lifted her gaze to him.  “Sorry for biting your heads off.”
Ivor let out a groan. "You two can be sentimental later. It's almost time for your practical exam, Princess."
 "Don't call me that, Ivor!"
That put a smile back on Jesse's face, and Reginald was happy to see it.
