I know that people are going to have mixed feelings about this premise of "Queen of Tears" but I am having a fucking ball.

Does he deserve a better life and less stress? Of course. Does she need open the fuck up and stand up for him to her family in front of him? Hell yes. Is his behavioral and joy at her diagnosis throw people off? Well duh. Will they fall back and love in this thorny predicament? TBH, I want it to happen! I know it's great when everyone is all fantastic and roses, but seeing two morally grey characters dealing with this moment. Oh I am eating it up!

We are only two episodes in, I am so excited to see where it goes next.

i adored the messiness of femme (2023) like yes it's a queer erotic thriller about a drag queen who is hate crimed by a closeted violent young man and then seeks revenge by starting a relationship with him it's so fucked up and glorious. he's not a 'perfect victim' he ill-advisedly lashes out before the attack and the audience is forced to confront that, he makes a series of questionable decisions in his effort for revenge the affect of that trauma and the dissociation shown by nathan stewart jarret is incredible.he tries to reclaim agency by getting revenge but is anyone really winning??

they also never let george mackays closeted character off the hook he is shown to be callous, bigoted and violent throughout and YET he's also broken, soft and in his own way loving. you laugh at his road man ignorance but the audience also pity him it's so delicious. unafraid to show actual sexual scenes too including messy dom/sub dynamics and quite bloody violence it's just so honest and raw and unapologetically unfiltered !!!!

i’m obsessed with it i just finished it a couple hours ago but its so well made the costumes are insane and its filmed in such a fun unique way as we cut from past to present, intertwined with music videos and interviews, it’s so unabashedly queer and wild from start to finish

OH AND it does this amazing way of describing art and passion, very much akin to that of the picture of dorian gray as the movie does pay homage to it, idk if youve read it but it describes these things in such an abstract yet visceral way in which you reall feel the power fame instills into these people
