So... Warriors

It is obvious by now he's not ok. He's irritable and tense.

I've had thoughts and ideas on this for awhile, so I think now's a good time to speak them. Very important detail at the end.

There are some really big and some small things adding to his stress

The drama with the sword. Wild went against the agreed plan, and lashed out in anger fear for twilights injury. From things Jojo said, Wars is mad about it for a while.

I have said this in other posts, but based on things Jojo has said and some details, I do not think Wild likes wars. He has not really gotten close to him, which adds on to the negativity between them

But Wars... is a captain. This journey is different, and he's doing amazing at setting aside expectations of how to work with rank. But that is still a clear stressor- to him that was unacceptable in battle

^this is one big thing we watched go wrong and has clearly been upsetting since

Another thing is

Wars has been taking on too much. We've seen him break up a fight at the inn, comfort Time (time!), and tell him he'd take care of the others.

Twice he said "let them", and "let him be"-making others have space they needed. He asked Four what was wrong and followed up with helping with smithing.

^^These are all small things. None of these are huge- practically tiny tasks. But they add up- all the attention to others feeling but not his own

... and

Wars has not smiled. Yes, he smiled, but it was not his smile. Since Twilight went injured to the inn, there has only been smiles in a way expected, but not much beyond when he found out his friend wasn't dead. (And when he helped Four at the blacksmiths)

In the updates, I have seen others saying how cool/pretty he looked. Which he did! But emotion wise, I only thought he looked angry. Even when teasing Twilight...

But here's the biggest thing that I believe is bothering him...

I've wanted to point this out for awhile. The thing is, Wars was really hurt when he found out Twilight didn't tell him about Wolfie

It's small details. A few sentences and facial expressions. But they add up over the chapter, and I don't think he felt trusted or trusting when he found out

He tried to find out who else knew

And why he was one who didn't

*read the blurred words:

"No one said anything to me, I'm just left out of the loop. Who else knows? Just us?"

Wolfie being secret wasn't necessarily about trust, but wars took it personally. He really didn't understand or want to accept that Twilight would have told some of the others but not him...

Wars is distinctly closer to the ones his age, who the younger ones often turn to. And as someone who's been through war, who bonds closest with those he feels he works with best?

Twilight having a major secret he didn't share with Wars, but did with others,

Felt like a knife to the (back?) chest.

And it hurt him

Look at his face when saying "we couldn't do a thing for him". He's looking away, directly after asking four and wild if they knew. I don't think he felt trusted. Or trusting. From thinking someone wasn't who he thought he was, and maybe was closer to others...

^^this is what I think is perhaps the biggest stressor- yet most unnoticeable

Wars never spoke to anyone about his feelings. He pushed it aside and went and helped.

This is ok. Between people so close, anything can be worked out. This is very revealing of how much Wars cares about twilight and the others

As far as Warriors pushing aside his needs and focusing on others... it's hard.

But I can confidently say this: Warriors would never want to not help all he could, when the others needed him

Here's this screenshot that makes me laugh (and somehow sky is just chill with this?)

Wars: oh my god my friend just came back from a wolf what the Hylia who can I even trust I'm having an invisible crisis

Sky: oh yay the sword helped he's back :)

Twilight: I'm fine *currently dying*

Wars is stressed right now. He's taken on too much, he's probably still mad at Champion, and... he feels betrayed (god wars should never have to feel betrayed) and untrusted

Like literally everyone ever others, wars deals with his hurt. Sometimes he can't deal with it alone, and sometimes he can. It will all work out, and I love how much he loves his brothers.

But nothing, I repeat nothing

Will be ok

IF HE DOESNT START WEARING THE DAMN SCARF SOON CMON WE HAVENT SEEN IT IN LIKE TEN UPDATES

As much as most of us (I assume) found Joker Out through Eurovision last year and maybe are big fans of the contest (me included), please consider boycotting Eurovision this year!

Palestinians and allies have called for the disqualification of Israel but the EBU has refused. Now Israel is participating with a song that used to be called "October Rain" (the title has been changed) that is very clearly referencing October 7th.

Russia was (rightfully) disqualified for opening fire on Ukraine. Israel is allowed to continue, despite the year-long occupation and murdering thousands of Palestinians in the last half year alone.

Boycotting means not watching, not streaming the shows, not creating or interacting with any Eurovision content. You will miss out on a glittery night of music and it will suck, but it will help path the way to a free Palestine! 🍉

Kevin Keith's 27 day hunger strike and the censorship around it

(most post body text copy-pasted from Death Penalty Action news email)

From prison, Kevin planned to manage a publicity campaign to call attention to his hunger strike and his demand for a just resolution to his case, however... the day he started his hunger strike, he was moved to solitary confinement. A prison executive came to see him...

First she demanded that he hand over all of his documents, his paper, stamps, envelopes and his pen. Then she informed him of a policy change: Prisoners on a hunger strike are not allowed to communicate with the outside world.

Kevin had told his lawyers and some members of the media of his plans, but that was it. I certainly had no details, and Kevin's brother Charles also had no details. Worse, there was no way to contact or even visit Kevin, because he was in the hole (solitary confinement).

Kevin held out for 27 days.

His lawyers came to check on him once a week to make sure he was OK, but that's it. No media responded to his plea. No celebrity supporters tweeted about his plight. We at Death Penalty Action had no information, and could therefore do nothing.

Even as Kevin drank copious amounts of water, he still was dehydrated. Kevin received intravenous hydration ten times, on the following dates:

February 7

February 12

February 14

Twice on February 16

Twice on February 18

Twice on February 22

And we had no idea.

Kevin says he found a spiritual benefit to the experience, but he stopped when the prison doctor warned him that he risked damaging his kidneys. They threatened him with being transferred to the hospital, restrained, and force-fed. At that point, he decided to end his hunger strike.

Kevin Keith is still waiting for Governor DeWine to act on his request for executive clemency. As you may recall, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against him back in November. It is unclear what additional legal avenues he has available to him.

I have a very niche AU I must talk about. In where instead of Janet, Jack is the one to die on their trip, Janet obviously comes back to Gotham better than Jack did, if nothing else but for plot device reasons.

She is slightly better as a mother than Jack was as a father, and I have always HC that she is more business savvy, which would explain why Drake Industries went bankrupt when it was Jack alone managing it. But none of that is important, because the important part, and where this AU goes completely off canon, only because I think the comedic potential is off the roof, is that Janet Drake starts dating Talia Al-Ghul.

No! wait, don’t leave! Hear me out!

I haven’t ironed the details down perfectly but just imagine the potential? Damian being introduced not as Bruce’s bio child, but as Tim’s baby step-brother? Damian not having too much of a murder intent against Tim because he hasn’t been adopted by Bruce? (They still fight over Robin, but they can’t attempt at each other’s life because that would make their respective mother angry/worry)

Also tell me you wouldn’t love for two badass ladies to date? Janet deserves a hot wife after having been married to Jack.

Anyways I just think it would be neat, and funny as hell, that’s all.

The Coyote Vs. Acme movie. Based on a 1990 NYT article by Ian Frazier, is in risk of being 100% shelved. Written off for tax reasons on the 23rd.

David Zaslav and WB Discovery are both asshats and a talented crew worked on this film so speak up, petition, do anything, spread the word of this movie so it won’t get cancelled. This is a part of film history and to stick it to the man, do your part! Wouldn’t be surprised if someone ends up leaking the film or some shit like that. It’s the internet now but still, still. Speak up against this corporate ballyhoo politic crap. Support the film and animation crew. Do anything in your power to get this tax write off decision revoked. ive seen calls for eurovision boycotts because they still allow israel to compete, which i 100% agree with. but i notice a lot of the response tends to be ''lol why is israel even in eurovision theyre not in europe'' and. i feel like this completely misses the point??

i mean for one eurovision eligibility isnt about location, its about being in the european broadcasting union. technically any country surrounding the mediterranean can compete, but it's believed that a lot of the other eligible countries don't compete specifically because of israels presence (tho i believe only lebanon has directly confirmed this.) israel being in the contest is a solid sign of political support from the other competing countries and always has been.

also objectively its like. even if you don't watch the contest it is SO much more influential than you'd think? the last time israel hosted, they reported a boost in tourism and had an oppertunity to show off occupied areas in promotional material. they did this while fining performers for holding a palestininan flag during the finals. it really is 100% worth putting pressure on the EBU to drop them in the same way they dropped russia last year and i hope it finally works this time.

#i cant talk about internantional poltics with much confidence but i DO have a esc hyperfixation #so i can at least confidently say its a very worthy thing to boycott and petition about #alongside stuff like the starbucks and mcdonalds boycotts
