Murf's Top 50 Mods - Part 3 (2020 - 2023 Edition)

I made a Top 50 list (Pt 1 and Pt2) back in 2016, talking about mods that I've used & love. But with all the goated content that the amazing TS3 community continues to churn out, I NEEDED to update my list! This one in no way diminishes or negates the other mods I've already listed--like, I shouldn't have to sit here and explain how NRAAS continues to carry TS3 on its freaking shoulders, ok. This is just MORE mods, the Top 50 most RECENT ones I've tried out since, like, quarantine.

I am a VERY niche simmer--I love fantasy gameplay, so my fave mods are the ones that not only offer general quality of life improvements, but also add new abilities and interactive objects inspired by different cultures, time periods, or genres. So y'all already KNOW which ones have earned my top spots. They're not based on which mods are "better," just which ones I personally have been using the most.

1: Smooth Patch, LazyDuchess

I've already gushed about this mod, but oh well. Like--I use an EFFTON of CC. My Live Mode gameplay itself doesn't tend to lag so much as my game's slow to LOAD, slow to save, CAS is a nightmare, I can do my taxes waiting for the Misc Decor section to open, etc etc. But the Smooth Patch loads everything so much quicker for me! 😭

One thing is that on the EA App version (curse you, EA) the Master Controller package didn't work on my end, so I took it out, but everything else has been great!

2: Search Mod, LazyDuchess

Speaking of the Misc Decor section -- HOW LONG did we ask EA for a Search function y'all? Only to be ignored. Then the second TS4 is released, it ain't got a effing thing in it, but it's got a Search function??? 🤔 ISTG it's like the simgurus were told to take all of the TS3 community's best suggestions, and poach them for TS4 (like vampire coffins--NO I'm not over it!). WHY do modders have to do your frikkin job for you, EA?! I call EA lazy all the time cuz EA you suck, so it's the most ironic thing ever that LazyDuchess is out here KILLING IT.

My ONLY "complaint" about the Search mod is the position of the icon. I use A LOT of Collection Files, and I noticed that the Search icon actually covers the Delete button when in the Collection viewer. So I can't delete items in collections with the Search icon in the way.

But this is a MINOR nitpick--I almost never delete items, it's just something I noticed is all.

3 - 8: OCCULT MODS: EVERYTHING by @puddingface1902

Y'all already know the Enhanced Witches mod is my favorite mod ever made. But PF1902 also made cool enhancements to the Fairies, Genies, Vampires, Werewolves, and Mermaids too! My sims are usually Nraas hybrids (e.g.: Sakura is a faery, witch & plantsim; Magnus Bane is a witch & genie; etc.), so it's FANTASTIC having so many new abilities for my magical occults. 😍

9 - 11: OCCULT MODS by xantak22

Even more occult mods at MTS are for enhanced Plantsims, Ghosts, and Mummies! I was dying for more Plantsim abilities, omg, they're my 3rd fave occult after Witches & Fae.

12: Sim Control Tools by Knight

Sooooo many quality of life mods have come out! ^0^

I've been ABUSING the Teleport To Me function, to quickly get sims off of lots & where I need them to be. It also lets sims unlock more Social/Romantic interactions. (Now all we need is a way to interact with sims from EA's useless thumbnails.)

13 - 18: @anitmb's mods

There are SOOOO many--most I've yet to even try. But so far newer ones I've been using are the Deck of Cards (FINALLY something other than EA's bulky AF poker table!), Farm Mod (look at all these CHICKENS!), and Hunting mod so my 8000 archer sims can actually hunt! (Ofc I've also used the Woodcutter and Anvil mods in my older gameplay posts, too.) And @mspoodle1's edit of the Cup of Tea mod is so pretty.

19: @mspoodle1's Poker table

Another excellent cards mod is this medieval style poker table I use a lot now, too.

20: @omedapixel's Wildflowers DR

I like EA's default wildflowers from SSNS, but Omeda's are just sooooo much nicer. (I haven't gotten around to trying out their Harvestable Plant DR yet.)

21: Swordfighting mod by CyrusBanefort

En garde! This mod is so freaking epic!

One thing I've noticed is that the game lags while it waits for the mod to boot up (a message has to first pop up saying it's running when you first launch your saves). But other than that this mod is excellent.

22 - 24: Yoga rugs

I've long been using the yoga rugs by Kitabalibar and the edited one from @mspoodle1. But now there's the newest one by @twinsimming, with brand new animations & features. The more the merrier I say, LOL. What's especially neat is the kids wobbling around as they try to do yoga! :3

25 - 30: TheSweetSimmer's mods--so cute! :3

Omg so frikkin many, I can't even catch up! The interactions are so freaking precious, like from the More Toddler Interactions (cuddle, look at, etc) & Biggest Little Mod (hug legs), I've never had so much fun playing with kids! <3 And I LOVE that they can Catch Butterflies and Pick Flowers--you'd think plantsim children would be able to do this by default, EA! Honestly, just grab everything by TSS, your kid sims will thank you!

31 - 33: @spheresims Medieval/Nature/Tribal mods

Y'all know I'm crazy about the Functional Fireplaces mod (the cauldrons, baby! 😈), but the One with Nature and Wildlife Hunting mods are great too, perfectly complimenting the off-the-grid realness.

34: @olomayasims/Cmomoney Smoking Mod Overhaul

The original smoking mod was on my first Top 50 list, so it's awesome seeing it get new upgrades, interactions & animations.

I've never smoked IRL, but sooooo many of my sims just puff-puff away; I'm such an enabler. U_U Now all we need is cigars and pipes!

35 - 38: Callia-Evergreen/Camkitty's CAS CC for animal hybrids at MTS

Not a "mod" per se, but whatever--my list my rules! I love ALL of their CC, but I get SO MUCH use out of animal-themed CC like the digitigrade sliders, wolf feet, lizard tails, and fae wings. Do check them out if you like to play with horror and monster-sims!

39: @greenplumbboblover's Sheep

EASILY one of the most incredible mods I've ever seen. Like....HOW? (Once @omedapixel's Goats are done I'm gonna start screaming someone do llamas pleeeeeaaaaase!!!)

40: Arsil's musical instruments mod

I used the sax most recently in my IWTV gameplay, and it was excellent, perfect for the NOLA vibes! However, although I use the flute A LOT more (for my Untamed gameplay--it's been such a GODSEND!), I really wish the hands were positioned better, preferably using the poses from Chisims' flute poseset. (But I don't eff with poses/animations, otherwise I'd do it myself. U_U) Ah well, it's still one of my fave mods though.

41 - 42: Flower Arranging mod by zoe22 + @mspoodle1's Florist Collection

Guys, I've been wanting this mod since FOREVER! ^0^ (I swear, the best thing about TS4 is all the 4t3 conversions, LMAO!) I just wish Teens could Dabble and use it, too--all they can do is stock the table.

43: Just Sit/Nap Anywhere by FloTheory

Sometimes you just want sims to fall asleep anywhere, DANG, EA!

44: @sweetdevil-sims' Toddler Food DR

Cuz EA's food is UUUUUUUUGLY~! I kept forgetting to install it, only to be rudely reminded every time I had to look at my toddler sims eating MUD.

45 - 46: @mspoodle1's mail pen quill DR and @omedapixel's pencil quill DR

I looooove quill pens IRL (ballpoint pens, not the fountain pens--I'm way too messy), so having mods that let my sims use them too is 👌

47: Fireflies Enhanced! by Canibal_MLO

I love anything that enhances the wildlife and collectibles/harvestables to be more dynamic and interactive. And I was JUST about to do a firefly catching scene for my IWTV insp. gameplay, so this came right on time! The falling leaves effect is delightful, but I kinda wish it was falling flower petals instead, cuz ofc I do. 🌸

48: Unicorn Aurora DR by Canibal_MLO

GORGEOUS. This mod replaces the unicorn mist with northern lights, like.... I love the genius ideas simmers have.

49: Custom Plumbbob Color tool by CrossTheMersey

What a neat idea! Although the default Maxis colors are ingrained in my psyche, with the iconic green plumbbob, as soon as I saw this mod I knew I wanted to at least try something different and play around with it.

50: @aa6x7's Teru Teru Bozu + other edits [Honorable Mention]

I rave about Cmomoney's Time/Weather Mod all the time, I use it constantly. AA6x7's Teru Teru Bozu (Japanese "Sunshine Monk" charms) is kinda like a simpler version of it, as it just resets bad weather back to Sunny. But it's such a cute idea and perfect for my gameplay. Plus, AA6x7 makes all kinds of neat edits/mods to EA's bulky AF meshes, so if you haven't checked them out already, DO!

And that's all the mods I've managed to try out recently!

I don't have anywhere near the kind of free time that I used to, so my simming has been put on the backburner and I've missed all kinds of cool and exciting releases. But trust: I am taking note, so that I know what to try once I have time.

I know I'm a little late, But did ya HONESTLY think I wasn't gonna talk about this? ^^

I've been waiting for sooooo long for this Series to return with ANYTHING omg, and it's finally here, alright so 1st episode was effing amazing!

So far from what I've seen, it looks like the show hasn't changed its style or missed a beat whatsoever.

Look at my boy playing his Nintendo switch, so cute! The animation and characters are still awesome and i can't wait for more uwu, i also can't wait for more stories as well as for the origal series to return!! Can't wait for sick hanako lol

They brought tiara in the show aaaaaaaaa so cute! Over all amazing show so far ^^

The Definition by Jon Bellion: Album Review

i love this man and this album so particularly much. even the thought of this album makes my soul relapse into the same euphoric orgasm of reminiscing on mr.bellion's sweet sweet melodies.

the soft intro of munny right.. like eases u right into the album. his voice comes in so fucking crispy. the fucking high note so early, its like just wait- he finna rap! just salivating at his fucking beats and his lyrics and his voice. im literally about to throw up. THE BEAT SWITCHHHHH UGHHH LIKE THATS SO GOOD U KNW HE WAS HEAD BOPPING! this sooooo me, im gona get my munny right like u mr.bellion sir! i love how this is such a represention of his success, not just lyrically but its like, he worked for it and never gave up and hes so fucking obviously talented. mfs like this are the reason why i am so enamored with music.

carry your throne. first song i ever heard by jon! i heard it in a vine and was like :00 and thats how i found him actually. i really love this song. and frozen reese's cups. i think this is also a really cool metaphoric song, comparing an undying, raw love for someone to having a kingdom. its powerful too, the instrumental and its upbeat tempo. really cool and passionate.

pre fucking OCCUPIED. i loooove this fucking weird flow in this. if you isolated the lyrics and instrumental i'd be like ..... :/ but together its fucking GORGEOUS. so fucking complementary. its a really cool way to show that they are meant for each other. like you can usually tell when one was made to complement the other. but not this song. GOD MADE ME A FULL BLOWN GEEEEENIUS ',:^[ luvvvvv this song. blaque keys is also such a rad feature on every track w jon, his flow is consistent and smoooooth. his voice also has this really good cohesion w jon's instrumental. he's a ride or die feature. beautiful mindddd

human. wow. love u so much. this is a song he obviously wrote the lyrics first, to add to the proof for my point about pre-occupied. he's a good little vulnerable guy, and i appreciate that his music is specially crafted. his instrumental and adlibs will never downplay the emotions in his voice, just beautifully complement. "lauren call me when you hear this on," makes me like cryyyyyyy. like that was fucking raw. the bridge is the best fucking part of this song, especially the acoustic version. tell me why i still feel looooost, like yes dude fucking SING IT! i genuinely believe finding music like this and kid cudi when i was young are genuinely why i am emotionally heightened.

RUN FUCKING WILDDDDD.. I LOVE THESE LYRICS OH MY FUCKING GOD. i fucking will scream this shit forever. he's so fucking real!!! MY SOUL IS IN LIMBO LIKEEE YEAH U KNO HUH! these lyrics are really dope for providing imagery, like its really cool and along w the relatable lyrics, because while personal still ambiguous, its a fantastic story of why this person has a broken heart.

a haunted house. fucking hate the yeah at the beginning :D this song had to grow on me my first time hearing this album, i did not appreciate the contrast it brings to the album until i took the time to read the lyrics. its nice and tucked in. and its again that dope lyricism of like "this is a metaphor, you've felt this but also this way you can see it" like yeeaaahhhhhhh thats fucking dope. and normally i hate little parts of "na na na's" but this song uses it to bring to life the euphoria of healing from your past and being in love again. beauuutiful song.

JUNGLE IS MY SHIT. I LOVE HOW HE SAYS "YOU'RE TOO PRETTY" LIKE I TAKE IT PERSONAL WHEN I HEAR THAT SHIT. THIS IS A SONG I WILL NEVER SKIP. u sound so effing cuuuuuute.. like jon i need u! or someone i like that likes me to listen to this song and think ofme idk! the COUNT UHHHHHHH LOVE THE BEAT AFTER SO MUCH. very passionate about this track can u tell!?!!?

bro i adore simple & sweet. its really cute and i enjoy him saying "no yeah" bc i always do. representation! BUT IF THINGS GET COMPLICATEEEEEEED-- like he absolutely smahsed it on that contrast. its made to be this way. the beginning is soooo slow and hes like- nuh uh, lets add a whole different beat and tempo. and it WORKS. and it shows the tenderness of being so in love, but also the euphoria of it too.

an immigrant is so good. the switch up is fantastic. i love this SONG. coffee on my j dilla vinyl!!!! like u can tell he missed this chick. i really really love this ditty. been head bopping this whole time. i love the "i miss you" and "i still love you" tucked in. its always been my favorite part of the album.

ooh is one i didn't like at first. but the chorus is what tied me in, and i stayed bc jon is meticulous with his features and this is proof, like blaque keys. like he absolutely has the vision for the songs immediately. and her voice is not one i'd care for alone, but its a slight compliment to his and it rly adds to the passion.

luxury is also a fantastic song, its a really beautiful outro the the album. a grand finale. such an awesome feature too. meticulous god damnit! like that shit just adds to the magnitude. feelings practically religious.

i needed to listen to this album again, i haven't for a long time but when the songs come on separately when i shuffle, im like :0! i love you jon, pls make new music i am begging you pLEASE

sooooo i actually don’t ship soukoku that much but this fic is hands down the best bsd no-powers au i’ve ever read. like they don’t have powers but they’re all traumatised and effed up as they are in canon! and they work through their issues by making bad life choices and writing songs about each other.

okay i know the premise sounds bizarre but THIS FIC IS JUST. BEAUTIFUL. jaime gets so much character development in like 10k words and i know that lyanna doesn’t even have a canon personality but this fic gave her so much depth and flavour

i feel like this is one of those fics that is best enjoyed reread years after you’ve forgotten everything about it so you can be absolutely bowled over by the twists again. A+ outsider perspective, a case fic about—you got it, the disappearance of midoriya izuku.

time travel fic which obliterates the typical tropes of every time travel fic i’ve ever read. also if u are a luke apologist who wanted him to be a good big bro to percy this is the fic for you. percy literally drags luke kicking and screaming into being a good big bro.

um so basically robin is a murderous amoral fae creature that bruce binds to himself and the gets emotionally attached to. this fic made me cry so here it is on the list.

was effing around on Dantooine with Guill and Gham last night

we may or may not have broken into the Republic base just for the hell of it aksldjskld

the turrets at the entrance are no joke, but once we were inside?? the walkers were sooooo weak like. I didn't even need to be on a healer and Gham tried soloing one just to see how it would go and only needed to self-heal once before it went down. Dantooine needs to improve its defenses I guess 😂

we decided to try Oricon next with Rhekke joining us. that one...didn't go well....

so we swapped to Yavin. the Republic base was pretty easy to attack and we finished off our 30 Pub defenses achievements before swapping factions (we DID try getting the commander, but once we pulled we realized we were fucked as like 20 3mil+ health droids ran right for us. even with both Rhekke and I healing we didn't stand a chance)

Imp base we only killed one guard before they destroyed us

we tried a few times, but that base has MUCH better defensives than the Pub one for some reason

we eventually gave up, Guill and I swapped back to Imp toons, and we murdered each other a bunch in the PVP instance (which was. much more amusing than I thought it would be. our comps were pains in the asses to the point Gham went solely for my Shae for stunning her constantly, and Rhekke just ran in circles around trees and shit so was impossible to kill and it looked so funny even when I was the one chasing them. it was maddening aksl;jdkls)

Recap:

"Should we run", said Starwave. "Probably" replied his twin and they slowly backed off hands raised, leaving their older brother to face his partner's fury.

Of course they didn't get off that easy,

The Autobots had noticed the new arrivals.

I sat on my bed, back on my farm. The familiar colours and smells calming me. This was the last time I would be in this room for a while. Orders had come from higher up...all the newly-licensed members of NEST were to move into the newly appointed base at Diego Garcia. 'What's with calling it a newly appointed base anyway...I've worked there a couple of times before years ago...it's not new.'

The sounds of birds calling in the trees and the low rumbles of the tractors, again calming my turbulent mind. Every time I left, I worried about this place. Not just about whether all the work would get done, but whether the systems would work. We've had a couple of bad twisters hit here in the past. Nothing serious happens when I've been here to clean up or the early warning protocol kicks in; setting the farm to lockdown and all the machines pack themselves away in the barn. We had a system malfunction once in the past, I had to replace everything. 'Ugh, bad memories...at least William helped me (because he was blackmailed?...no because he wanted to help his cousin...well maybe a little bit) and the rest of the unit generously agreed to help too.' A small chuckle left my lips at the memory, 'ah good times'.

I swung my legs and jump off the bed. Turning to close the window, cutting off the sounds from outside, a sigh escaped me. Grabbing my two duffel bags filled with the last of my clothes, toiletries, electronics, etc; I walked out my bedroom, silently closing the door behind me.

I trudged through the house, closing windows and turning off lights; double checking the kitchen appliances, 'you can never be too careful'. Once at the front door, I threw a last longing look back down the hallway. With a huff I stepped outside and locked the door. The soft thump of its closing barely audible in the carpeted space.

"What took you so long?" The sound of Starwave's impatient voice sounding from his alt-mode parked not two feet from my front door. 'Did he just get snarky with me? Out of character much.' I strolled round his passenger side, his side door already open. I deposited both bags in his back seats then climbed in myself.

The seat belt strapping me in tight as we sped off. The burst of speed pushing me back into Starwave's seat. "Starwave, SLOW DOWN!" My panicked screech falling on deaf ears, 'Or audials should I say'. He swerved, tyres screeching and spun to suddenly slow and smoothly stop just beyond the doors of the barn. "I'm only trying to help darling, we were supposed to be at NEST two days ago. On the plus side you're no longer grumbling and stuck in your funk now, are you?" I couldn't deny his logic was sound.

But the effects weren't great. I practically flopped out of his alt-mode. Head spinning I stumbled towards the barn and leaned against the door; which promptly opened, depositing me neatly on the floor. "Ouch" I rubbed my back as I stood up once more. And slowly walked into the darkness of the barn, trying to ignore Starwave's amused chuckles from outside. "Are you alright (y/n)?" he gasped out between giggles. I hmph'ed and turned on the lights. Marching forward to my workbench I began putting everything in boxes and carrying them over to my trailer. Starwave had graciously volunteered to pull the large trailer all the way to the base so I couldn't really tell him off.

About 20 minutes later I had just finished packing all my stuff, 'or rather...anything smaller than me'. Last but not least I had a large exercise bicycle/pedal reactor to load. Unfortunately it was twice my height. Just as I was considering transforming and using my Gaian strength to lift it a cough came from behind, followed by a voice. "May I help you?" I whipped round as my heart jumped. Hand on heart I glared at the tall form of my partner, Starblaze. My glare soon turned to a look of confusion, "I thought you were already at the Diego Garcia base, how come you're here?"

He merely smiled and walked forward to pick up the reactor placing it on my trailer. He then lifted the folding ramp and so the trailer was now an enclosed box on wheels. I took the keys out of my pocket and locked it. I looked up to see Starblaze smiling at me. "Am I not allowed to visit my partner?" but then he slightly averted my eyes, "And I had to check on Starwave" he admitted.

I chuckled at that. 'No wonder'.

I walked over to the huge doors and began pushing on one, laboriously opening it; as Starwave casually opened the other with one hand, just his helm peeking round the door. Sunlight bouncing off him and temporarily blinding me as I walked outside.

Starblaze followed pulling the trailer in his off hand. I couldn't help but laugh.

"HA HA HA HA HA..."

This Oh-so-majestic being, who's very steps make the ground shake...is pulling my trailer like a toddler with his new toy.

'He effing looks like one as well. He's got the pout, walk and everything. XD'

I collapsed gasping to the floor as two very confused cybertronians just stare at me. Starwave looks from me to Starblaze. Then it clicks, an expression of wonder graces his faceplate before he too collapses in a fit of hysteria. Starwave just watches us nonplussed. He rolls his optics and thinks for a moment. Then he looks at himself. I laugh even harder as optics upwards in concentration he adopts the toddler pose again. He looks at me a grin blossoming on his faceplate and laughs as well. Not a moment later his eyes widen and he clamps a servo over his intake. Me and Starwave freeze and just stare.

(Author note: dear readers, if you have watched Transformers Prime...his laugh is like Ratchets laugh in that one episode. You and Starwave's reactions are the same as the kids.)

Not a second later we both burst out laughing again. "I-i-i-it hu-hurts" He gasps out through his giggles while I just cry with the force of my laughter. Starblaze just looks at us exasperatedly for a moment before smiling and leaning against the wall of the barn; watching us practically die with laughter.

--------------Timeskip to after you calm down and get on the road--------------------

Starwave was pulling my trailer attached to the back of his alt-mode and I was riding in Starblaze. The windows were down and I had my arm hanging out his window as we sped down the road.

I watched the horizon, daydreaming...when I felt a little nudge within my heart/head. "Are you alright?" Starblaze's voice echoed within my head as a wave of calm descended on me.

'I'm really starting to like this bond thing, sooooo calming', chuckles followed, reverberating over the bond. I frowned "Hey Starblaze keep out of my private thoughts please." There were more chuckles followed by an "As you wish (y/n)." Silence descends once more before another voice pipes up over the bond, "Hey I can see you, take a left now!" Its Starocean's voice...'But I thought he was at the Diego Garcia base.'

Starblaze took a sharp left down a dirt track to the gates of a brazenly military airbase. 'How did I not notice that?'

We rolled through the gates that opened before us and rounded a corner to see a huge cargo plane sitting contentedly on the runway.

Starblaze and Starwave; Starblaze lets me out and they both transform. I can vaguely hear Starwave stretching and grumbling about how heavy my trailer was...he soon shut up when Starocean came sprinting out the open back of the cargo plane. I watched with a smile on my face as the twins sprinted for each other. At the last minute they both dodged to their right, linked arms and spun around into a hug. I could faintly feel their joy and chatter over my link to Starblaze...and sequential sibling link to the twins.

I walked next to Starblaze towards the plane. Before we even take two steps though both twins come sprinting back.

"Hey (y/n)! How's packing been?" Joyfully Starocean offers me his hand, I step onto it and he lifts me up to cradle me against his chassis in a hug. "I missed you too ocean." I hug back and then he passed me over to Starblaze. ('Ocean' being my nickname for him; for example Starwave is 'Wave' and Starblaze is just 'Blaze', but together Starwave and Starocean are called the 'star twins')

I sit contently on Starblaze's shoulder, watching the star twins argue over who's going to pull my trailer now.

He walks over to the cargo plane and ascends the ramp. I sway slightly as we enter and grip onto one of his shoulder struts for support. A faint humming sounds all around, not the regular plane hum but almost like...'a sparkbeat!'.

I close my eyes and access my bond with Starblaze. I look around and all I can see is spark energy. 'Starblaze...are we?'

He nods and replies, "Yes we are...(y/n) meet Stratosphere."

I exited our link and looked around, "uh...hi."

"Nice to meet you (y/n). I must admit I was surprised when I heard any Gaians still existed, let alone one had formed a partnership with a native of this rock...it's cool to meet you."

Starblaze settled himself down further in and the twins came up the ramp with my trailer. I slid off his shoulder and down his outstretched arm to the floor of Stratospheres hull.

I was curious as to whether anyone would be sat in the cockpit or not. I opened the door to the cockpit and a broad beam spread across my face. I launched myself into the arms of the man stood on the other side of the door. "Epps!"

"Woah there" he chuckled and held me up, "Lennox would kill me if his baby cuz killed herself tackling me." I just laughed and punched him in the arm.

"Takes more than that to kill me Sergeant...word on the street is you're expecting a promotion."

"What street, you live in the middle of nowhere dust-girl."

We both laughed and then Starblaze's voice again sounded in my head.

'(y/n) strap in, we are preparing for take-off''.

I passed on the order to Epps as I strapped into one of the pilot seats. He quickly followed.

We watched the dash light up and felt Stratosphere rise into the air.

"Weird when you're not the one driving, isn't it?" Epps joked. I smiled and joked back, "yep it sure is, but that means I can nap right?"

We both laughed before I reclined my seat, giving a small yawn. Epps smiled at me in a brotherly way, "It sure does (y/n), it sure does."

I was out before he finished his sentence.

------------------Timeskip to Diego Garcia-----------------------

I woke up just as we were landing. The bright sun assaulting my eyes the second I dared open them. I flinched, closing my eyes in reflex. Epps chuckling away beside me doing absolutely nothing productive, besides insulting my pride. I cautiously glare though my eyelashes at him as I slowly adjust. He gets up and strolls out once I can open my eyes, I unclip myself and exit the cockpit after him.

The star twins are sharing the job of pulling my trailer, 'How on earth did they fuse their arms together?' Starocean's left arm and Starwave's right arm have fused together to form one large joint arm, as they walk in step with each other pulling my trailer after them. "It's like an absurd three legged race." I mutter to myself.

Starblaze stood sedately to the side glanced at them before saying, "They are split spark twins and they can fuse to form one being, should they so wish." I just nodded, and sent the equivalent of a nod down our bond just for good measure.

We all exited Stratosphere, Epps jogging ahead eager to get inside. I soon realised why, the second we stepped out into the sun I thought I would melt. Just as I was swishing for shade, Starblaze adjusted his pace to block the sun from falling on me. 'Thank God for robot aliens!' Starblaze suddenly broadcasting a bout of hysterical laughter down our bond.

I swear I leapt three feet in the air before falling promptly on my back.

Nearby laughter snaps me out of contemplating, yet again, the wonders of having someone else in my head at times.

I pick myself up and turn my head to see some bots I hadn't seen before.

They were practically identical, except the silver one had swords on his arms just above his servos and the yellow/gold one had guns.

I looked up at them, slightly embarrassed, but hiding it well. "Hello, are you some of the new recruits?" I politely asked.

"I'm Sideswipe" said the silver one, "and this is my brother Sunstreaker."

"And who might you be?" said bot interjected.

Their bright blue optics studied me intently.

"I'm (y/n) (l/n), cousin to William Lennox and Gaian bond partner to Starblaze."

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker both cock their helms at me in surprise, 'quite honestly the fact that they did that at the same time is soo cute!' I made sure that thought was kept out of me and Starblaze's bond.

I was distracted when Sunstreaker spoke up, "So you're the human that saved Jazz...you don't look like much." A self-satisfied grin hovering on his lip-plates as he waited for my reaction. Sideswipe grinned broadly, "Jazz said you faced Megatron...bet you couldn't take on me."

'Oh, these two thought I was just a human and that this would come to nothing huh, I'll show them.'

'(y/n) I would not advise that course of action...unless you would allow me to be your partner in this venture.' I could feel the smirk coming down our bond.

'Oh yes, let's show them.' I exited our conversation and addressed the twins.

"I could definitely take you...both of you in fact." The look of uncertainty suddenly on their faceplates was delicious. "But to make it fair we'll have a doubles sparring match...me and Starblaze versus you two. Just let me unpack and we'll find a suitable arena."

The twins froze momentarily before adopting exaggeratedly casual poses, "Sure, see you soon shortcake" being a final parting jab from Sideswipe before the two transformed and took off for the hangar. Sideswipe being a silver Corvette and Sunstreaker being a gold/yellow Lamborghini.

Starblaze's pedesteps alerting me to the fact that he was turning around.

"(y/n)!" a voice called for behind me. I turned around as well to spot Lennox come jogging up.

We embraced in an awkward hug, considering all the gear he was packing.

"Just back from a mission?"

"Yep...had to come back when I heard you were on your way and...your two days late."

I heard a cacophony of transforming sounds from far behind, Lennox and I watching as Stratosphere transformed into an absolute giant of a bot and limped off. We watched him walk off then turned back to each other.

"So (y/n), I saw you've met some of the new bots? I'd watch out for those twins."

I smiled, "Yep, and I've been challenged to a sparring match, doubles."

Lennox's grin fell. "You're not really going to fight them are you? Sideswipe is the Autobot's fragging combat instructor and his twin is just as skilled. You've fought in your Gaian mode, what, once?!!" But then, after a moments thought, he smirked evilly, "Kick their afts...I'll set the arena, I'm betting on you winning this."

I bumped his shoulder as I walked past, "Don't worry cuz, I'll make you proud."

We casually walked to the hangar, Lennox splitting off to go get the event all set, while Starblaze strolled up to the Star twins to tell them the news.

I walked to the barracks, entering the female dorms, I found my usual bunk down the end, and unpacked. 'Starwave was good enough to have my bags dropped off here, aw...such a sweetie!'

I stretched and left the barracks for the mess hall, 'gotta refuel before a fight.'

Grabbing a banana, I strolled out the door for the hangar. Climbing some stairs to the walkways, I took a bite as I leant against a banister.

"How's it hanging dudette?"

I turned with a smile, to come optic-to-eye with Jazz. "I'm good, how are you Jazz?"

He raised a servo and I gave him a fist pump before he started telling me all about the new recruits. Arcee (She is chimerical in the movie – check for more info), Jolt, brothers Skids and Mudflap, 'who are an ice-cream truck?', Stratosphere and the Arielbots (who are all still in Stasis needing repairs, except Stratosphere but he still needs some repairs) and finally the twins, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

"So little lady, heard you gonna spar wi'the twins. Here's a little tip for ya'...Go for Sideswipe's legs an' try ta corner him, he overbalances real easy when he can'move and Sunstreaker's vain, ya'hurt his finish he'll get angry and we all know you gotta keep it cool to fight."

I nodded, "Thanks Jazz, I'll keep that in mind."

'Starblaze you getting this?' the response was almost immediate, I'll keep these tips in mind for our battle'. I looked up to see the Star twins wave at me from behind Starblaze.

I waved back, grinning broadly; Jazz giving me a sidelong look.

"Hey you and those Gaian twins, you lot aren't a thing are ya?"

I spluttered, blushing in response to Jazz's question.

"No! They're like the brothers I never had, they're not romantic prospects or whatever..."

Jazz laughed as Starwave called from across the hangar, "Aww (y/n) you hurt our feelings!" Starocean cracking up beside him.

I glared and huffed, puffing my cheeks out in annoyance.

'Jokes', 'Yeah jokes...hey, does this mean we can call you little sister?' Came the less than apologetic replies from the two over my Gaian bond.

Jazz poked me with a digit, "hey didn't mean to pry girl, no hard feelings."

"Of course not Jazz" was my warm reply.

Jazz got ready to leave, "I'll be betting on ya" and with that final parting call he left.

'Man...I've got a lot of people betting on me...I'd better win this...what a sobering thought.'

'Don't worry you'll win.'

'Starblaze what did I say about going in my private thoughts.'

'That was private? You were practically shouting.'

'Oh shush you!'

Hey there, babe! Thanks for playing!!!

1. Tell us about your current project(s)- what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

Oh man, my current project is inspired by the Eddie Murphy film, Coming to America. The first one. The premise is cute and funny and I thought it’d make a good adaptation for CS. Murphy is a prince about to be trapped in an arranged marriage. He talks his father into allowing him to come to America to, his father believes, sow his royal oats before settling down. But he’s actually coming to look for his own bride. In my fic, Killian is the prince in the EF whose marriage is arranged by King Liam. Killian proposes allowing him to journey by portal to Storybrooke to find his own bride. In this fic, Emma was sent through the wardrobe like in the pilot, but when David woke from his coma briefly in Awake, 6x17, and Snowing saw 10yr old Emma through the True Love door, they went through the door to raise her themselves. They return to Storybrooke on Emma’s 28th bday and she breaks the curse, allowing travel between Storybrooke and the EF. Killian comes through several months later. I hope that all makes sense.

Progress is VERY slooooowwwwwwww... I made the doc sometime last fall and I’m about 7k words in and its not even half way done I don’t think. I really am trying to make some forward progress on it this month and hope to post it sometime in March.

What I love most about it is the opening scene that is straight from the episode, but Snowing goes through the door instead.

2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing- in your current project, or a future project.

I am looking forward to finishing my current project so that I can move on to a WWII spy fic I want to write inspired by the ‘92 movie Shining Through with Michael Douglas and Melanie Griffith.

3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need?

#2 child took an interest in Stephen King last summer and my mind went, what if CS were Stu and Frannie from The Stand? So a doc was made and the fic was cast, but the book itself is sooooo huge and this fic would be soooooo huge, I seriously doubt I’ll actually write it. But never say never...

18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plot lines you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterizations?) Tell us about them.

I can't think of any. Sorry.

My Thoughts on FFH!!!

Alrighty ladies and gents let’s examine the roller coaster of amazingness that is FFH:

Holy crap WOW

I LOVED FFH, yes it was all over the place at the beginning but it was amazing soooo

I was not expecting that tribute to our fallen heroes at the very beginning but it didn’t upset me either Whitney is always a win

I love how they made the “Blip” or whatever tf it’s called comical after how depressing it was during Infinity War and Endgame

Peter’s plan. Jesus Christ. That was the most adorable thing. He is so gone for MJ oml and honestly I was worried about his crush being rushed but Jon made it work sooooo

May and Happy.

Peter cleaning the effing bathroom when he saw MJ was gonna use it next and then doing his effing hair omg comedy gold right there

Peter buying THE NECKLACE and knowing her fav flower ughhhhh😩

That scene between Spideychelle where she explains to him her new fav Italian word was genius FRICK

Peter hitting his head on that bell not once but twice made me audibly laugh our boy can’t catch a break

When peter told nick fury how he’s worried about his classmates JEEZ I love him

Mysterio was extremely charming ngl. I knew he was gonna have to be the bad guy but I actually loved him before he went all psycho killer mode

Peter “I just wanna go back on my trip and tell MJ how I feel and maybe give her a kiss” Parker. His little laugh when he said that made me die inside

When Peter accidentally knocked Flash out HA. I love when they really show Spider-Man’s level of strength

for real though let me accuse capitalism some more for Not Great Ideas About Romantic Love b/c like!! that’s basically all you’re allowed to look for in terms of reliable companionship and Any kind of close relationship from your peers. b/c the Nuclear Family is the imposed social unit of choice b/c extended families don’t allow for enough isolation / cut-off support networks......you Outgrow the nuclear family you were born into, and then you’d better find your romantic partner asap to start the next generation nuclear family, because you’re not gonna get other support / community anywhere else, better enjoy having friends before everyone righteously pairs off and sees each other way less, because it’s Totally Fine to have all of your time -> energy -> identity -> existence consumed by just your roles as Parent and Spouse

not to mention like, whenever people of any relationship status are super overworked and like, especially with having unreliable / inconsistent schedules that don’t line up and needing to work a thousand hours a week to scrape by, people have less time to spend with each other and to foster those connections when they’re like always At Work or exhausted and recovering from work or, when they Do have some free time, it doesn’t like up with the free time of their friends’..........like hmm too bad there’s not One Person who is super devoted to Just You and can always make time and prioritize You, Alone.......

Life Under Capitalism is dehumanizing and alienates everyone from each other and doesn’t value life and commodifies anything that people might find adds Value To Their Life and like, our grievances and suffering is just Personal Problems that need to be fixed through our Personal Choices, b/c community is strangled off, isolation is pushed, and you need to Have Money or Die, and there’s the idea that the Way Things Are is flawed but ultimately okay and works out for good people............and it all brings it around to like, the idea that actually Finding Romance is *all* that life is about and is the one route to happiness. like, this concept is just casually trotted out in whatever media as blatantly as that, that “what’s even the point of being alive if you don’t find that Special Someone” and everyone just kinda goes “huh, yeah, that’s true...” like, it’s just Fine to accept that life is a hellscape and you’d want to die if it wasn’t for this one nice magical thing (your true love(tm))......like, maybe there’s a problem with that? we shouldn’t all just accept that life is unbearable but romance is the sole cure? and it’s not even really Anti-Capitalist when a holiday movie / any romcom is all like “this career person thinks that Love is for suckers and only making money is good, but then eventually their romantic interest shows them otherwise and they realize that said romance / a dash of Family is actually what Really matters” b/c it’s just like.......hey don’t be upset that you can’t actually Get Ahead under capitalism!! the people who are making more money than you are unhappy, i promise! it’s fine that you aren’t really succeeding Financially, b/c you have Love, so be happy with that and don’t think that there’s any systemic issue here.

anyways and like yeah of course it does probably seem to people like Romance is the only thing that can improve [insert any bad situation about their lives] because what even else is offered to people, seemingly, right......it’s like, first of all i hope you have a good relationship with your Nuclear Family, b/c they’re the only ones who will be Unconditionally There For You......but even if you do, it’s not like those people can be Everything in your life........and re: friends it’s like, well, i hope you’ve made super lasting friendships in high school and/or college, cuz after you enter The Working World good luck making new friendships!!! even if you do you’ll drift apart b/c nobody has time to nurture the relationship!!!! meanwhile of course everyone should be looking for romance, and hey, that will transform your life and enable you to endure all the other miserable everyday shit you go through, b/c the one person who matters cares about you. and they’d better b/c that’s the only really strong mutually supportive “unconditional” relationship you’re guaranteed! clearly!!!

like of course positive relationships of any kind tend to Improve Someone’s Life......of course isolation makes everything worse for anyone......it’s not like a good romantic relationship SHOULDN’T improve stuff for people, but like, no way should it be the case that romance is the ONE THING available and it better fix fuckin Everything or else you’re on your own when it comes to dealing with those problems that Aren’t improved and if you can’t deal with it on your own you’re fucked, cuz it’s romance or nothing!!!! it would be totally convenient to like, be deeply in love asap and have that make everything amazing and hopefully it’s ur life partner so that you don’t have to worry about Struggling On Your Own like..........a romantic relationship is really all that looks to be on the table according to the Life Narrative that’s pushed really hard. and defining that romance as “this person will always be there for you for Anything and you’ll always be there for them and you’ll always be happy as long as you’re With Each Other” is really Something when life under capitalism guarantees no happiness nor for anyone to be there for you or care about you or help you otherwise

like yeah Friends are nice but they’re kind of sold as the nice optional bonus, or like, they’re there for you but you don’t have to be there for them, low maintenance ideally, and if they drift away when you don’t spend time on them or support them then that’s fine as long as you’ve got that romantic partner b/c that’s how romance is so often defined, as being More than any other relationship, like, hey i don’t Need anything else, i don’t Need anyone else, it’s fine if i only have you, for some reason we gotta view relationships as Tiered and know which one’s you’d consider disposable if you put them all through a winner-take-all tournament bracket.......brilliant approach which is totally fine if the agenda is “give people One Good Relationship with One person which must fulfill their existence and fix everything lacking” like ok

i mean there it alll comes back around to going “augh jesus christ” at Isolation packaged as romance where it’s like “[as long as Romance] it’s fine if i die, it’s fine if i don’t have anyone or anything else, it’s fine if we never engage with the world or talk to anyone else again”.......like fuck!!!! this is horrible!!!!!! god!!!!!! Isolation is Bad gang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and abuse overlaps sooooo hard with isolation, and you’ve got that deliberately isolating tactic that abusive partners pull that like, you can’t spend time with family and friends, it’s me vs. them, and you should always be prioritizing More Time With Me and be perfectly happy with *Only* our relationship or you don’t *really* love me..........but then this same sort of Concept will be just be touted as Ideal Romance as long as both people are cool with it lol!!! like, i don’t even Want to be around or think about anyone else, this one person is my whole Life And World, other loved ones who????? it’s Just Us now and hopefully forever, #sweet

like it’s pretty Effed Up that people have to feel like there’s only one way to expect someone to ever be at all devoted to them or really care about / understand / support them and that’s through having a Current Great Romantic Relationship, which must and should be *everything*..........like, everything i think abt “this idea about romance seems awful” is about like........romance shouldn’t be this way for even people who currently have that kind of relationship, and it should Always Be Fine to be single, even if you want / hope for a romantic relationship.........i’m keenly aware that snagging a Romantic Relationship seems like the only way to have someone committed to being On Your Side and paying attention to your existence every day. but really of course that shouldn’t be the case......and when a romance IS had, why is it worse to have a grounded view of it like, when people compare it moreso to friendships rather than to being some kind of magical bond which effortlessly yields Everything You Need In Life, so now you don’t have to care about anything or anybody else

anyways i really can’t imagine the concept of like, a Romance just absolutely cutting down all these other aspects of your life b/c you don’t care about / Need that shit anymore being an at-all pleasant or appealing concept versus like, it just being its own positive relationship that enhances everything and Doesn’t become your sole source for so much shit like validation and commitment and intimacy and support / help and companionship and etc etc etc etc etc etc
