Hello! I’m sorry this reply is coming so late, this ask in particular is very sweet and has stuck out to me.

I’m really happy to have introduced you to PVT, this is something I’ve heard from a few different people on here and it’s very sweet… I did my thesis on it in college and the time really flew by while working on it, things you don't think could possibly attributed to "nerve issues" being nerve issues is always an eye-opener, isn't it? being able to research things that interest you & access information in general really is a privilege in this day and age.

“The topics [I] portray” are very important to me, so it’s heartening when others take interest in spite of the obvious deterrents. A lot of what I love making art about is unpalatable to most, and while I do understand the reasons for that on principle, it can make things feel a little insular. I genuinely believe there’s a lot of value in depicting tableaus of misery.

The last year has brought a lot of very unforeseen changes, and my life is quite different from when I initially made this blog to post about him! That’s also part of why I’ve been so sparse here…though I’m working to change that quite soon. I love sharing my work, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly wonderful people through this website. That said…with where I’m at now, I’m not sure I’ll be posting the Dirk essay anytime soon, I’m afraid.

I’ve undertaken a few ongoing projects, one of which in particular is an original project I plan on sharing publicly here hopefully within the next month or so. I hope it’s something you & anyone else who’s stuck around with me here will enjoy, but failing that, I’ve really enjoyed working on it thus far.

its time to explain my persona lol

my persona is an eldritch god that can travel through universes and draw things into existence (ik its mary sue but LET ME HAVE THIS)

okay lemme explain a little. persona (i'll just call them that bcus im lazy) was made up of the code and pixels of a secret joke boss in a video game (the boss having said powers of my persona). but they never made it into the game, but combined with raw, human emotional chaos (idk why that was there) somwhere in the universe

eventually, they mushed into my persona! me, basically. nuke (the tiger) is my familiar that i summon with my tablet pen that turns into my battle axe. if my pen runs out of battery, nuke starts fading into lower frame rates and eventually disappears (he runs out of animation frames, those frames are powered by the pen)

my persona has been spotted in many worlds( my hyperfixation's worlds), they consider the characters to be part of the story, watching them for their own interest. they usually don't help out unless they're motivated by unknown reasons (me crying bcs THAT CHARACTER DID NOT DESERVE THAT) or to make the story more interesting

they can make worlds or humans/things if they wanted to. they like to tell stories and like talking to people

right now, this is how my persona is involved with my hyperfixations:

SCP : they're an scp that the O-5 council finds troublesome. humanoid scp that gets special rights because they can end the world (did i mention they can do that?). they know a lot about everyone in the foundation (bcus i read the files) they escape whenever there's already a containment breach happening and they mostly use the time to explore the facility without restriction. so far, they've had a therapy session with Dr Glass (ended with more questions and them eating the recording tape, but went well), pissed off Dr Clef and eaten one of Dr Kondraki's butterflies. they have a lot of knowledge of classified stuff. 423 mentions them being a fun story partner.

hetalia : ITS THE REAL WORLD THEY'RE ME LIVING NORMALLY

genshin : random traveler (not THE traveler) that runs around being weird (everyone hates them) stealing shit and making the archons pissed (they're a god that survived the archon war by sleeping through it in a cave, they didn't even realise the war happened lol)

ddlc : they're a background random classmate that sleeps in the back of the literature club classroom (they never interact with anyone and monika doesn't delete them) in the ending, you can't find their character file. if you ask the other club members about them here are their responses : natsuki "Oh them? they just snooze here like a lazy bum! ...but they like manga too, which is nice." yuri "...I think I take english class with them. I didn't notice they slept here afterschool. I wonder what kinds of dreams they're having." monika "you mean the student sleeping in the back? they're not important." sayori "oh, I never noticed them before! aren't they cold? we should bring a blanket for them next time!"

Demon Slayer : they're a background slayer. apparently they didn't even join the corps. they just walked out of the final selection forest and stole a kasugai crow. their weapon is a battle axe. it's unknown if it's made from nichirin or not. a lot of the corp members think they're a demon. muzan mentions them as a pest and a hinderance (they saw the blue spider flowers and went munch munch just when muzan showed up) at the end of the final battle, you can see them chilling on a boat (presumably headed back to china????) they don't speak, and they write their name in chinese.

apothecary diaries : they're in the background of all the cases maomao solves. maomao feels like there's someone watching her, but not with malicious intent. they're not a servant and dress in more northern fashion (like from ancient beijing) and they wear shorts. their silhouette can be seen in scenes with windows. it's mentioned that they visited the lotus house and visited the three princesses (but they didn't do anything and just talked a lot the entire time while talking to the princesses) granny thought they were a weirdo, looking too young to visit a brothel, but accepted it cuz they were paying a lot.

PJO : weirdo demigod that dionysus seems to find sus. participated in all of the battles (group ones with the entire camps). the rest of the camp theorises about what they are (they don't live in any of the cabins) no one know's their name. chiron doesn't know about them. during the battle for manhattan they can be seen in the background stealing things from shops. percy notices them at every one of his schools, but they don't go to classes and no one else shows recognition of their prescence.

MASHLE : a bg character that eats cream puffs. nothing else. no mentions other than always being at the cream puff bakery

inside job : everywhere, never talks, always watching

spiderverse : a rando in the spiderverse. no one know's how they got here. they seem to be pissed at miguel for some reason. they don't have a watch. they're in the chase scene but they just slowly walk as they watch everything (while eating a miguel burger).

HAZBIN : they sleep in one of the hotel's rooms. somehow, no one has noticed. they're in every group scene, usually peeking out from behind something.

helluva : they're at the doctor in s2, ep 4. just napping on one of the chairs.

harry potter : they're sleeping in the chamber of secrets. and in the room of requirement. and at the train station in the last book where dumbledore is. and flashbacks. just sleepin.

i guess this counts as criticism so im throwing it under a readmore but its mostly just my thoughts on the whole thing so like ! its on you if you choose to read

i think thats a fair criticism and i personally dont mind jokes about eggs dying from fans in certain contexts (mostly bc i think itd be hypocritical of me to say im against all of them atp ive definitely Made similar jokes and im not going to pretend i haven't ever. especially early on when cc i did like got harassed off the server over them & they weren't as big of a plot element/characters. I think a lot of it comes down to some fans seeing eggs as children vs some fans seeing them as pixel robot eggs. i see why one side thinks its inscrutably fucked up and i see why one side sees it as a nonissue. but i digress.) but it DOES feel like a lot of them end up being so harshly mean and even then like... its one thing when fans say it because i know theyre not actually affecting the story or the plot and i can just be haters in dms to people about it like lol look at this idiot fan saying they want the eggs to die.

compared to a character in rp saying it and now theres people rallying behind the idea :-| especially so late in the story. there's a different context to wanting the eggs dead now, over half a year after their introduction & after the characters have been fighting for the eggs back for almost a month vs wanting the eggs dead in april when they seemed like a gimmick that went just a bit too long. im just not sure how much i like the angst going on with this. im the number one misqommunication smp fan usually but this is just like angsting for the sake of angst in ways that aren't fun to watch for me.

ok i only just watched the side order trailer because ive been busy. rambling below the cut

i havent seen ANYONE else's thoughts on the trailer yet so im probably both restating the obvious and missing a lot of details as well

i dont know why, but the first thing i noticed was the weird thing on eight's left wrist. no idea what it is i guess im just pointing it out

lot going on here. the thing closest to the front that looks like a tentacle is clearly flat, and to me resembles a mem cake. the next thing looks like a plush, and personally reminds me of this little guy you can see on iso padre's shell

not sure what the things further in the back are. it looks like some kinda valve, a turntable, a door maybe? and i cant make out the thing in the far back is at all. a tentacle? no idea

Ok so monokuma. Theres a lot of images I like of him (all of them) so theres likw be a lot of images but to heres a few that I find special lol. (Under the cut cause I theres is many I will aalao talk abt why I like them to for some lol so yeah) also I might miss stuff cause I still have yet to rewatch the games lol (I will prob in the future tho) so yeah more under the cut !

Ok so first off, sprites

These too are probably my most favourite sprites of him him imo. Theyre both from V3 and are very nicely polished. I really like how cute he looks, especially in the first one even though that sprite appears only once in the whole game which I think makes it more special methinks. The other is also super adorable. I also like these ones from dr1 (especially the one with hes showing his black side more) and the bonus ones sdr2 too but these are my most fave bearsonally (tbh its actually all of them lol)

Oh yeah and his pixel arts are cute too :3 !!!

Anyways now for art !!

He is looks very very cool in all of his splash arts. Love him. Love he has one for every game too lol (I also like how the v3 one falls down onto the throne in the opening)

These close up shots of monokuma are amazing. Like the part where gets serious and menacing and you can see the inside of the red eye is asdffgghjjbbgyvvdt ygjju btuytdverc yeah. (I also really like the “despair, that’s all.” Line he says in the dr1 one)

AND the ending scene In dr1 specifically like this art lol

And also in the executions in v3 (specifically kaedes cuz that’s like the only one hes mostly in). Hes drawn so well in the executions compared to the rest of the game for some reason idk why??? But yea

Hmmm idk if i have any fave color combos or color palettes, pink is my fav color so ones with it are maybe more likely to catch my eye, but i like all color palettes id say :]

Things like thin lines, interesting face proportions, fun uses of shape n anatomy, color, and shading, can all really make me enjoy the art style

@ozomilk lOVE! their art! So good! Anatomy is spot on, the poses are always so dynamic, their OCs are interesting l, and most catching to me i think is incredible and fun use of shading and highlights! Just so damn good ive followed them probably the longest

@notmusa UGH! YEAS! LoVE the way they play with anatomy and poses, and the faces of the people they draw, i aspire for their art style its so skrungy and yet so well put together i love it a lot

@namelyjamie does such a good comic-book-esque style with the use of dots for shading, it amazes me every time i see their art bc like wow i dont think i could ever do that! Its so good, and they capture peoples faces really well (they often make fanart of tua, and the actors are very recognizable in their style)

@sumpfbold love their style and use of anatomy and line, plus the colors are just *mwah!* Lol the themes they go with too i love, trans art and angelic beings, absolutely splendid things!

@vanessagillings so soft and sweet and lovely and relaxing, in theme, color, and use of lines. Absolutely beautiful artwork that makes me happy, and such a beautifully simple style that still includes great amounts of detail and texture

@k-eke so fun! Lovvve the colors and the pixel art and especially the animation, their animal animations never fail to make me smile

probably a weird question but any height hcs for the mekakushi dan?

not weird at ALL. not only does the mekakushi dan have CANON heights but i have my thoughts about them

from shortest to tallest, these are their CANON heights:

hiyori 138 cm (4'5'')

hibiya 140 cm (4'6")

mary 154cm (5'0")

ayano 155 cm (5'1")

takane 157 cm (5'1") as ene, 640 pixels

momo 162 cm (5'3")

kano 165cm (5'4")

kido 168 cm (5'6")

shintaro 172 cm (5'8")

seto 178 cm (5'10")

haruka 182 cm (6'0")

i dont think these heights are bad but i think they're a little silly, especially hibiya and hiyori. girl they're 12. they wouldn't be THAT tiny!!! ive been the same height since i was 12 tbh, ive been 154cm (5'0'') for ten years 😐😐😐 anyways. yeah. they wouldn't be that short, in my sick twisted mind hibiya and hiyori are around the height of mary ayano & takane.

which brings me to. ayano and takane's heights are a little weird, especially takane. they're mostly drawn with a big height difference with ayano being the tallest when they're actually listed with takane being 3 cm taller so they're rly the same height lol. i usually draw ayano as taller for the lols bc i love shortest of the quartet takane, so id probably either make ayano a little taller (maybe 160cm, which would put her as shorter than momo, or maybe just as tall as momo to have a more clear height difference with takane) or takane a little shorter, but i think her height is fine as is. im a little attached to the 157cm bc of how big of a revelation it was JEJDKEKD and idk mary is always described as super short when there's literally 2 other grown characters just as tall as her lol. take ur "kiddy" mary and shove it up ur ass jin ur weird 💗 mary is my height i get her the view is FINE from here.

the thing with takane is that he's got the whole Secret Identity thing like as is takane is KINDA a spoiler character? and enes whole thing is that no one knows where they came from so for a long time we only knew how big ene was in pixels ajdkwjdk and unlike everyone else she does NOT have the funny fun facts like a canon birthday or height or weight. we only know the height bc in a takane sketch from sidu they wrote next to it the 157cm and the fandom took it and ran with it. at least that's how i remember it, i was so damn excited. idk if it has ever been super confirmed (tho its been listed in the wiki for years), so i can see why its so inconsistent to ayano(and mary, who is also close to their height but we see takane with ayano more often) and his weight is listed as 2MB. thats soooo funny. mysterious weight takane sometimes it can be so #girl but also im kinda glad bc the weights are so fucking BULLSHIT.

anime when making a girl heavier than 45kg: 😱 girl are u fucking crazy. ayano and momo have the same weight? mary is listed as 130 apples heavy? its such a mess. the weights are SHIT and NOT REAL. anyways u didnt ask abt that but yeah their weights 👎👎👎👎👎 not real.

anyways. id make these characters around the same height (in the range of 154cm to 159 cm) from shorter to tallest: hiyori, hibiya, mary, takane, ayano. maybe even ayano as tall as momo. and hibiya and hiyori would probably grow taller than those 3 as they grow up lol. i think hiyori would end up in a height like momo's and hibiya would be just slightly taller than shintaro which would probably anger shintaro a lot. tho short king hibiya is also funny tbh

WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE TALLEST'S HEIGHTS. ok. seto and haruka. sits DOWN. i think haruka should be taller and seto should be what haruka is listed as. cuz like haruka is always described as like super weirdly tall and he's like omg i hate being so tall when 182cm is like. sure its really tall but i wouldn't call that a weird height??? thats like. idk to me its kinda average tall height. and AGAIN im 154cm so id know a tall person lol my little brother is 180cm (😐) and while he is tall i wouldn't say he's crazy tall!!!and seto just being below 180cm is soooooo wrong SO, to me seto has haruka's height which is 182cm and haruka is probably more around 188cm, maybe getting to 190cm just for shit and giggles. like now THATS what id call weirdly tall. maybe haruka is just called that all the time bc he hangs out with ayano takane and shintaro (shortest adult mekadan members & shintaros painfully below average for a guy height). but whatevers i do love haruka is the tallest character though lol

and the rest are ok. kido being almost as tall as shintaro is awesome. kano being short is also awesome. if im changing shit id make him as short as momo just for shit and giggles which if we go by all my other changes then he'd be as tall as ayano LOLLLL

do you like vaporwave? if so, some of your favs? if not, why not?

Technically yes, but I try to not really engage with vaporwave as a genre or aesthetic because I feel like viewing it that way can negatively impact the way I view an actual work. Like I dont want to listen to something and think "this is good for vaporwave" or something, yknow, I wanna take stuff on its own merits. That being said I do enjoy what would be considered the "vaporwave sound" and if you watch my streams im very obviously vaporwave/webcore/y2k/etc. adjacent in visual style (tho i think the "outrun" branch kinda sucks and needs to go away.)

The first thing I heard that introduced me to that type of sound was "Flowers" by bEEdEEgEE ft. Lovefoxxx and is still something I come back to. (Photosensitivity warning btw)

"Vaporwave" wasnt well known as a term yet, so I just knew this particular song hit different at the time.

Then obviously Floral Shoppe hit, which I still think is good even if it has a lot of baggage associated with it nowdays (effectively created the "genre" and "aesthetic" elements that got overused/misunderstood/etc.) At that point I would probably have said I was a fan, even though I really didn't engage with the scene that much. As such, idk who all turned out to be dirtbags so I'm not gonna vouch for any of them as people except Vektroid who, ironically, I met as a fellow vtuber rather than through her music, still kinda baffled we're mutuals tbh lol.

I think I mostly just listened to Far Side Virtual, A Heart Full of Love, The occasional PrismCorp, I've enjoyed what I've heard of Windows96 Also enjoyed the rare "can we make this a thing?" stuff like this Especia track, and honestly just a bunch of shit that appeared on my youtube that is long forgotten.

Over time I started to listen to more Future Funk than Vaporwave because of the Artzie Music youtube channel. Some songs I would actually go back to are:

After listening to some of the stuff in my youtube likes from however many years ago, there absolutely was a lot of "this is good for what it is" type of stuff that I don't think I would listen to again, so I'm just sharing the stuff that I think holds up.
