What about Caretakers who, despite their best intentions, are also Whumpers?
Maybe Whumpee has a condition/is non-human and afraid of hurting people. Maybe it’s something they can’t control. Carewhumper loves them anyway, wants to help them, wants to keep them safe, so they take to restraining Whumpee every night. When it gets bad, they slip a sedative into their water and install locks on every door. This becomes their new normal.
Somehow, when Whumpee meets a new Caretaker, they expect the same routine. They remind Caretaker to tie them down before bed, and then confused by the devastation on Caretaker’s face, until it clicks.
I'm writing a paper on Goncharov right now and I can sooth your nerves that the difference between Gonch and whatever's happening on tiktok is not the fake media. Fake media and fake people and fake history will always and has always existed. Neither is the collective storytelling.
The difference is that we made Goncharov real by imitating a fandom for it. Like yes mass hallucinating a movie was fun and an incredible feat of collective creativity. But the *way* we created Goncharov is what will always make it special.
We, as a website, spontaneously created a perfect pastiche of fandom, one that was so identical to any other fandom behaviour it made the movie seem real.
As I quote thetwistyoucantresist in my paper, “maybe the real Goncharov was the Fandom we made along the way”.
Goncharov isnt the fake movie its the fake fandom, that's what special and unique and one of a kind
ted and paul genuinely have the funniest relationship in all of hatchetfield. ted considers paul his best friend and paul just does not like ted. hilarious
I love how lesleys face has stuffing coming out of it implying that she, the most human looking person on the show, is made of stuffing compared to the main puppet trio who have organs and blood.
Am I the only one that can't stop thinking about how Tianlang-Jun says about Luo Binghe that he pretends to be cold-hearted like his mother. The hint of fondness there, the heartache in that utterance.
Like it drives me absolutely insane. Imagining her putting on a front of strength, cold and driven and unrelenting. Why does TLJ say that about her. Did she secretly look for solutions that meant reconciling with demons instead of hurting them when her sect wasn't looking? (I wonder this because I feel like his weird fondness for SQQ would lowkey track if it's connected to the woman he once loved.) Did he mean that she was tasked with basically assassinating him and she fell in love with him instead (re: failed step one)? Did he mean that she was fond and doting in her own way (e.g. conceding he was attractive, paying for his exploits and humoring him)? Did he mean that, like LBH, she thought that power would be the thing to protect her--and that it was disguising a person who was deeply and privately wounded? All four????? I don't need sleep I need a n s w e r s
Did she know about the Huanhua Palace Master's skeevy ass intentions before she met TLJ? Or did those only come to significant light after she fell in love with TLJ? Is that why she never anticipated that level of betrayal, because initially she had no intention of being with anyone romantically? And HHPM just assumed she would be under his thumb forever?? Was she furious at her own indiscretion or did she try to use the pregnancy as a bargaining chip, a way to try to stop the immortals of Cang Qiong Mountain from attacking TLJ (plus the bonus of marriage entrapment no takesies backsies this is where LBH gets it from)? Did she try to use that claim on her to dissuade HHPM from his covetous advances, framing herself as tainted so that she could finally escape? Did she dream of a life by TLJ's side, far away from Cang Qiong Mountain?
Like. Literally every single permutation of what this could mean guts me to hell. Do you ever just cry about tianxi because I--[loud bawling noises]
Wait, if that wasn’t a call for a ceasefire what did that mean? Will it change anything?
The ICJ does not have the ability to enforce its rulings, provisional or not. They did not demand a ceasefire despite South Africa including it as a central part of their case, and instead outlined that Israel must halt their attacks on "Palestinians" (civilians) as well as ensure safety for humanitarian aid. However, since Israel has been operating under the lie that all civilian deaths are just a result of them trying to target Hamas and them being caught in the crossfire, this isn't likely to change much.
Also, Israel is led by a collection of petty monsters who will interpret this ICJ ruling, toothless as it is, an insult and will take it out on Gaza. Today might be the most violent day yet. Continue striking and keep Palestinians in your thoughts.
number #1 tactic that people use to not sound as racist as they are when they talk to black people: 'uhh so you AMERICANS need to stop pretending everything is about YOU. why should i know this im not from the us :/' (= is talking about like. a phenomenally internationally well-known black artist)
i rewatched the sex scene between dean and cassie, and the samulet is such an active player in this it's driving me insane. it's often the brightest object on the screen, for one, and on top of that it remains more or less in the middle of the screen, propped between them.
then, when cassie starts kissing dean's chest, the dark lighting makes it appear as if she also kisses the amulet due to where it's lying on dean's chest. and when dean flips her over, the samulet dangles between them until it finally drops onto cassie's parted lips:
and then dean dives down and kisses her, not removing the samulet from between them:
and again the dark lighting makes it uncertain whether the amulet is locked between their lips—the subtle implication is that it's there, touching both of them, because the darkness doesn't reveal to the contrary. the samulet is thus a participant in the scene, engaging in acts of intimacy between dean and cassie. and the samulet representing dean's love for and devotion to sam, transfers that intimacy indirectly onto sam as the unwitting third party to the first sex scene in the show.
so anyway why the hell does the samulet stay on during sex if not for incestuous purposes
okay but it is actually insane that Light was like 'I'll pretend to be L' and then proceeds to imitate him almost exactly. like. he's yotsuba-d he doesn't remember why he's so fixated on the mannerisms and speech of this guy he's chained to but he knows that he can copy him down to the way he forms a sentence, to the faux polite knife in the back threats. no wonder L immediately afterwards is like 'okay, Kira'. they know each other, even when Light has forgotten who he was. on an unrelated note everyone go listen to playing his game.
