I love comics as an artform and I wish I could create one about these dogs, but making comics is hard work. It's extremely time consuming and artistically challenging and I just don't think I have what it takes to branch out into that right now.

Consumed good media... time to finish BAD media.

In the midst of the story REALLY trying to stress that Slash is Pure Evil, TRULY evil, what Real Evil looks like and Totally Totally evil evil evil with absolutely no other traits whatsoever besides being L + Stinky + Foreigner + Creep to women, Slate announces she is pregnant with Gray Wing's kits.

Re: hes not a "REAL" dad to Thunder or the Tom Trio. "Weren't really his kits." He's GOING to be a father. There's a nice moment later where he's like, "My love for my biokits doesn't feel different from the love I had from the others" but that does not change 6 books' worth of them explicitly downplaying his connection to the other four because they have biodads to angst about.

I'm stating something obvious, but god, I can't stand Gray Wing. I hate how this character gets praised as "The Best Dad Ever" when this WHOLE arc treats his connection to the kits as inferior to whatever abusive biofather wanders by. I despise how his "reward" for looking after all these kids who do NOT see him as their true dad is REAL children.

Path of Stars feels... fanservicey. Like it's desperately trying to tug at your heart strings, pulling cutesy shit like this. Look How Happy He Is :) He's Gonna Be A Dad :) and it just makes me resent him even harder.

#i wish he died sooner #i massively resent his popularity too which doesn't help #and honestly I didn't hate him this much before this undertaking.#It was READING his scenes and chapters in-depth that has made me fucking hate him #because the fandom idea of this character is COMPLETELY dissonant from what's actually on the page.#dotc hate #bones reads dotc

I was gone for a while because over the course of 4 or so months (since eurovision songs had been being released) I was doing this! I tried to make all the designs last time in 2022 but uh. It was really disorganized and I didn’t get through them all XP. So i tried to streamline the process and it worked!!! It took a LOT of my time out of my usual day but it was fun!!! I love lil design challenges like this!!!!!!

Also here are a few doodles among the way! I also have a lot of trivia on these characters as actual characters and also headcanons on what would translate from the actual song contest to whatever this would be but that may be for another time lmao

I'm currently writing out the Archon War in a fic, and it got me thinking - who exactly would Morax be going to war against in Cyanide Narwhal's original timeline? It seems like he's got pretty much most of Liyue already except Havria's land which we know he didn't fight for. And like, sure Osial's being a thorn in his side, but like, that's one god. And you had Chi coming back again later as undead, which is two gods.

it's a good question but i'm afraid the thing about cyanide is that i had no answer for that originally, and when i began writing it i didn't want to add even more conflict and complicated political schemes than i already knew there'd be? (if you can call them that?) so i sort of... ignored the big issue.

the big issue being that, before the archon war, it's likely morax would've had control of only the guili assembly and maybe jueyun karst. it's actually a complicated point of contention when it comes to pre-war liyue theorycrafting. the rest of liyue would've been populated with other settlements led by other gods. either that, or liyue was a sort of big alliance of multiple leaders, and when the war broke, everyone started fighting each other.

kinda how china itself had a tendency to unify, split, unify, split, unify, and split throughout history. i imagine Liyue could've had something like that happen at some point. you could even argue that morax had control over all of Liyue bar Chenyu Vale, and when the war broke out, all his subordinates in charge of looking over all the other settlements decided they might as well fight both each other and their emperor.

so like- please keep in mind that cyanide sort of waves away that major problem in figuring out pre-war liyue lore.

as for the original timeline, i think i sort of also toned down the amount of gods morax originally fought. not only the two you mentioned, of course, but there would've been at least four immortals in chenyu vale, more than just osial and haishan in the sea, and probably a handful of gods from the south of lisha, a region not availiable in-game that i'm simply assuming is part of liyue.

so yeah,, my excuse was a sort of "just because they're not mentioned doesn't mean they're not there" for all the gods that would've popped up to fight in the war had childe not fucked up the timeline.

edit: i completely forgot about xiao's master. so uh- yeah that one also.

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed.

As to that story… probably not? I tend to take each tale with an added twist, but most of the ones I’ve done were sparked by a twist that someone else suggested that I thought would be funny or gave me an idea.

They Danced Their Shoes has a few marks against it. It’s extremely long in terms of plot points that would need to be conveyed. Comics take a Really Long time to make, even short stories can take weeks to draft, ink, shade, and finalize. This story would be massive compared to any of the others I’ve done.

Its’s also not terribly well known, and the ending isn’t very happy. The cursed princes are cursed for longer, the youngest sister gets ignored, and the soldier who didn’t really do anything of merit gets a free bride.

While it’s a nice story to read, the comics I make are focused on fluff. I want to make sweet art that is a balm to all the rough parts of life. Happy endings are guaranteed.

#ask ffs #I am on the lookout for a new idea to mull over if anyone does have story pitches #but as you can imagine it needs to be easily revamped as queer and preferably with an unconventional element #the swan Princess one was basically ‘what if she caused havoc instead of going to the lake’#if anyone’s got pitches I’m always happy to hear them even if I don’t commit to that idea #the only other one in my brain would be a massive undertaking and I really doubt I could do it while I’m in school

Hh sorry, they have lots of story stuff planned out but it's all just rattling around in my head, there's no comic, written fiction, lore depository or anything substantial that I could direct you to. I mostly just design characters for my own enjoyment and then put them in little imaginary situations because it's a fun and inspiring thing to do.
