Very inlove with the idea of Eddie and Steve living a quiet little comfortable middle class life.

Working a trade, or a civil service job. (Maybe mail man Steve and electrician eddie. Who knows?)

Their life is stable and simple. Nice little house. Nothing grand but it’s warm in the winter and cold in the summer. Guest bedroom for family, friends. They get by without worrying or fighting about money. They’re alright. They don’t live in luxury, but neither of them especially wants that. Steve learned a long time ago money doesn’t make you happy, from his parents, his friends, and looking at himself. Of corse he knows he needs a certain amount to service but. Everything else just makes you an idiot. And Eddie’s not a wanting person. His uncles proud of the normal, stable life he’s made. He’s living better than anyone in his family has in generations. They take a little road trip vacation to a beach or an amusement park every summer and a little weekend get away every spring. They have enough money to comfortably buy something thoughtful and nice for their loved ones for the holidays, as well as each other. They go out to eat a couple times a month. Truth be told they both prefer date nights spent cooking together and cuddling up in-front of the TV much more.

They’ve got their retirement funds and their little savings and their joint bank account in order.

They live a simple, peaceful, good life. They’re so happy with what they have.

I keep waking up every morning just… beside myself with how angry? I am at the state of just nearly everything right now.

Angry because it feels impossible to handle. Angry because any seemingly smart thing to do about it is to say “That’s too big of a problem for me to handle” and then get out of bed and get on with the rest of your day.

And if you try too hard thinking about it, it just turns into hopelessness and that’s not gonna fucking do it.

So it’s like I’m just sitting here in a holding pattern waiting until ??? there’s something for me to do!?

Anyway, so I watched hbomberguy’s 4 hour video essay a few days ago.

Maybe if I sit down and write a well researched essay I’ll feel better. Or at least feel like I did something. Or at least better understand what the hells is happening to the world right now.
