2023.11.06 DIR EN GREY at CLUB CITTA

The beginning of the ending as Kaoru said.

The doors opened at 18:00, the start of the show was scheduled for 19:00.

The final sound check started 18:58 so it was certain the show won't start on time xD they were 14 mins late xD

The animated intro A book titled Phalaris opens and for a brief moment we see the text on the first page. Phalaris was always renowned as extremely cruel. (googling the sentence took me to Wikipedia, they actually simply copied the Wikipedia entry about Phalaris xD) In the intro Phalaris is portrayed as a parasite, changing it's forms one by one, from a larvae to an insect to a monster to a dragon to a brass bull, changing its hosts into something evil until they infect the next victims. The parasite growing inside their bodies into something grotesque and transforming them. A set of dice next to the book. Priests and prayers mixed with torture and dying girls, women. Is Phalaris a sickness of cruelty and hatred causing people lose their humanity? The members walked on the stage as the intro footage was shown on the front screen. They played Otogi as the images continued on the screen. The screen went down as Otogi ended.

Die had his fabulous hair and a black jacket with red stains. Shinya wore white shirt with silver decorations. Toshiya had a sparkly jacket with one sleeve only, shorts and long leather boots. Kaoru's hair was silver? grey? He had some kind od painting on his face but from my place I couldn't see properly what was it, like lines over his cheeks and forehead? (apparently he cosplayed Father Pucchi from Jojo😆) Kyo came wearing a black Adidas tracksuit, he removed the jacket a bit later on, staying in a white cotton tank top. He's growing a mustache or a goatee I think? His hair was parted and sleeked back a bit, not so much hair product to make it flat.

The set list was so interesting. The energy went up with the few following songs, then Oboro shifted the mood and finished with the Inward Scream. The sound/musical part of the inward scream was new. Kyo ended it with '壊れて・broken' cried softly. And after a brief pause they continued the set with The World of Mercy. The first line of 誰が知る？本当の私本当の心 Kyo changed 'kokoro' to '意思・ishi' (intentions).

During Rinkaku's 'Minerva' we got to shout for him as he turned with his arms stretched to the sides.

The following flow with 13, keigaku, different sense and Eddie was so good! Kyo moved around his box to get fans to let go even more and give him more😁

The main set ended with Kyo leaving quickly. Fans were clapping and shouting encore. Btw we had to wear masks for this show but singing and shouting was allowed (so hot with a mask on😂)

Encore started with Increase Blue, very nice as Kyo got us singing and dancing. But when I heard the first notes of NATIONAL MEDIA BOYS I almost cried. I hoped they will do something as a tribute and they did😢❤️ Interestingly a lot of people didn't recognize the song and thought it was a new dir's song😂

TDFF and Rubbish Heap were pure 🔥 Toshiya climbed to the back of the stage so he stood at the bottom of the back screen, showing off his looooong leather boots and shorts.

Finishing with Kamui changed the mood drastically though. The footage matching the style of the intro started on the back screen. Some images of the war they used before but the main theme was different. A girl standing inside the sinking boat, the sea being so angry. Small group of people walking through a desert. A praying jew. A bible. A cross. A closeup of the chest of Christ, a trail of blood and next to it a trail of tears. So much death.

The footage ended with the tour title on the black background.

Kyo left very quickly after the song ended (usual for him, especially at the start of the tour). But Shinya did as well? Did I miss him throwing stuff or he really didn't? Die and Toshiya walked around the stage throwing picks, all smiley. Kaoru stayed the longest having fun spraying fans with water, then throwing those bottles into the crowd. I bet he was in the celebrating mood with Hanshin Tigers winning Japan Series. Before Kaoru left he pointed at the screen in the back to show there will be some announcements, waved and left :)

First we got 19990120 and then the special January tour info. We tried briefly for the second encore but the staff insistingly kept announcing that the performance is over so we clapped one last time and it was over.

I am awake! i am living! i am FERAL! This litle update has me absolutely SPINNING Firstly just allow me to say that everything is just oh so so CUTE The costumes, the sprites, the 19 minute long audio, the COOKBOOK my beloved!! But anyways, theory time!! Well more like observations, thoughts and unhinged ramblings XD Gonna put it Down Below:

Speaking of that. First observation is the wording of Down Below We usually talk about waving up high! It is said so many times!

But now we finally have our official "As Above, So Below" My first thought on this is the theme of a stage, "As above the stage, down below the stage" But I truly dont think we have enough information to make a connection quite yet We know where "Down Below" is I wonder where "As Above" is? The second thing is the Wally Darling costume And the Eyes

I realize now that the Eyes are actually just holes and showing whatever is underneath, BUT I still can't help thinking that this was intentional! Perhaps it's some sort of Code? Afterall, his eyes are Black!

Now to get into the MEAT here: Spoilers if you have not found the secret audio! during the secret audio "Listen" The bug found on the transcript

Wally stares directly at the "eddie" apple as he eats the apple on the plate (I also just wanted a screenshot of the "eyes" in the BG)

and now… now i have theories hang on cause it involves the entire transcript that was said but not said in the transcript itself! (In fact, it says this part is not there!! but it IS) so i typed it out by ear (also ayoo we have a narrator!!) (also there is a lot of 4th wall breaking and quite a few neighbors seem to know that there is a show/that they are puppets) (but anyways!) ok but here is what is said in the story It is because this town is rumored to have visitors at night… Something from deep within the forest, far beyond the hills and mountains… No one knows what it wants or where it’s going, just that it is persistent.. Just that it arrives here. So many stories have risen about their origins… But I know what it is searching for. it is looking for neighbors who have stayed up past the daytime, to gobble them up whole that is why so few live here it moves through the streets at night, but it doesnt break into Homes However, on rare instances, it will find itself with an appetite unsatisfied by its aimless wanderings even the occasional unfortunate insect that has crossed its path, is not enough those who have lived through the nights say, it isn't quiet about it either they always say you can hear when it gets closer to you do you know what sound it makes? I hear it, every night. you can hear it too, if you listen especially if you wait next to your window First, there's rustling in the bushes Then, the scratching on the pavement, and the walls.. as it crawls up Finally, if you're quiet.. You can hear it's guttural sound ok ok so there seems to be a theme going on here and the theme is Hunger And also when the audio gets all garbled and skipping? I feel like it is saying..."Frankly" over and over? I could be overthinking, but it is what i hear!! it almost feels like Wally.. can't control his hunger he was supposed to be watching Barnaby's apple Barnaby even says "Don’t worry though, kid, there’s plenty’a other eats here! What’re you feelin’ hungry for, Wally?" and he is quick to draw attention away from wally, as he tends to do a LOT barnaby seems to Know a LOT about Wally, and thats why he sort of has to be his babysitter? I think that there could be a connection here I think Wally was HUNGRY, he was absolutely STARVING OR OR Maybe something else was Hungry? Home?? Whatever the black goo/mold is?? If something is controling Wally? His eyes are black, the Goo is black, the goo is coming from Home But also also [It sounds like Barnaby pats the camera.] Going back to my theory of wally being the camera/ the audience surrogate/his eyes are cameras This is fuel to my fire!! Oh and also the Wally Costume add to the motif of You being able to see through Wally's eyes. Of You and Wally being connected through his Eyes!! But at the end of the day, I think this update revolves around Eddie! This little bug on the rock is Purple! Which we know is Eddie's Color!

And just that that doodle looks like the bug that leads to the secret Audio where Eddie's apple is brought to the screen.. Leads me to feel like something forboding is going on for our poor, dear sweet Mailman! Which by the way, just another little Observation But Sally doesnt seem enthused by the fact that Eddie is a fellow Arts lover? and she just calls him "Mailman" rather than an affectionate longname like she does with everybody else But it does feel like Eddie is the Type to give his heart and soul to everyone, the shirt from his back, only for him to get left in the dirt u_u I'm noticing a trend of him being the neighborhood punching bag Eddie IS the mailman tho! So it only makes sense that he is the one delivering the letters to the WHRP. He is not the one writing them, he's just the delivery guy! But I think he could be being sent out at night When everyone else is asleep And I think something terrible may happen to him It's very dangerous to go out at night and This could be where Eddie is ripped in half/mangled Wally fixes him of course! (old theory but it does reference that) So is Wally just using Eddie to serve whatever purpose he is after? Eddie is a very compliant guy, he would do anything for anyone and if he can be put back together, where is the harm? I am starting to make connections! Stringing together the pieces! And once again, i'm getting the question of "Is Wally Evil?" And once again, I am answering with a solid "No" Do I think that he could be slightly morally askew? With the themes of "I must do what I need to do, no matter what happens" "I'm sorry, but this is how it must be" "The ends justifies the means" Possibly, maybe. Especially if it is to save his Neighbors, his World, his Home. Or, Just some of his actions are not his, he is a puppet afterall. Anyways anyways, this has been a very very long and rambly tangent. Hopefully there can be some sense made from this, I know that I can be a bit jumpy with my thoughts!! But these are my inputs for now!! Feel free to add on/correct me! (I know the one link is out of cannon date, but so was the Frankly picture, and it was made cannon, so take it with a grain of salt)

Hiya! Just wanted to say I’m really enjoying your comic! It’s really refreshing to read about a place your obviously passionate about. All the little put ins about insects and animals make me feel like I’m learning about someplace. Another thing I enjoy and it’s mostly just a your art-style or choice is the cat mullets XD Their so fun and give so many more impression of their profile and vibes <3 Right now roosterpaw is my favorite. I been waiting all my life for a warrior cat like him. Your world is so weird and cool. I have so many questions on how they operate. Like how can daisystar and flickerstar be sisters(I assume to help with clan genetics stuff)? Is it open borders and everyone is looking out for each other? Don’t worry about answering all these. I’m just enthused and invested. You made me wanna try a do a D&D rp warrior cat game. Themed with tropical beach side coast :) I can wait to start learning. Thanks nanistar mobiusghost. wow thank you so much, this is so thoughtful!! i love the desert and i love creatures that are highly adapted to fit their niche and i love bugs and animals and sharing information about them :] and a tropical d&d warriors sounds awesome and super fun!!

as for your questions, flickerstar and daisystar are both halfclan, half sag/sun. their mom cricketsong was a sagclan cat, dad stonefang was a sun. parents decided to stay in their different clans instead of moving in together, but the sisters were raised knowing their father as he came to visit often, and when they were to be made apprentices, they were given the choice about who to live with. flicker, being the more curious and adventurous of the two, decided to go live with dad in sunclan and daisy stayed where she was comfortable.

the borders aren't completely open, they still do patrols and scent markers but it's more out of routine and warning other animals than anything. in general, they tend not to hunt on other clan's territory unless they're bringing said food to the clan (salt could hunt on marshclan territory if she was bringing a snack to hollowspur) but like most things, the rules are mainly just guidelines. lone cats have no fear walking thru other clan's territories, and when times are tough they tend to share resources. also, clan switching is an uncommon, but normal thing. since there's no reason to really be wary of other clans, there's not much talk of loyalty or suspicion of cats that switch. (plus i hate the canon nationalism of the clans and don't want it near me or my comic lol) sometimes it is for necessity; most sunclan cats that happen to be born with primarily black or darker pelts struggle under the direct and open sun, so they move to sagclan. cross-clan romances and friendships are perfectly normal and respected. most of the time, cross-clan romances end with one of the pair moving to the other's clan, but not all the time (salt&hollow have no interest in moving in together) and cross-clan kittens are typically raised knowing their history and knowing their relatives in the other clan, and aren't scorned or shamed about it. (also the birthgiving parent is under no obligation to reveal the other parent, and it's not too uncommon to search for a sire outside of Clan territory) all in all, the clans look out for each other, and support each other, but are still their own individual groups with their own cultures that make them unique, but they are willing to share aspects of these cultures and celebrate them with the other clans :>

- Hugh Lawrence Apiston - he/him - USA

Hugh's name comes from the book Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, just as does his surname (Apiston).

Lawrence was chosen simply because I thought Having A Middle Name Is A Very American Thing To Do 🤠🤙so I chose that xD it means "bright one" and, well, Hugs sure is a bright little guy, I'll tell you that much.

- Gunner

Operating under Dean, the Master Gunner of the ship, Hugh's training in the army gave him enough experience for him to earn this job aboard of Blithe.

He learns fast and easily, so he's very much able to opperate all of Blithe's artillery - his favorites are the cannons, tho, which he uses to incapacitate enemy ships. He hates the sound of it, but a job is a job and the pay is good.

- Apikinesis

The hability to manipulate bees. Hugh's main peculiarity, is the fact that his stomach is the home of numerous bees - as scary as it sounds, they don't bother him. Instead, he can comunicate and use his little insect companions to his advantage.

They can be used as spies or, if the situation really needs it, as a form of direct attack. Because of how bees die after stinging, tho, Hugh doesn't use them unless it's really his only and last choice.

He has little bee wings and antennae, which makes him able to fly (not very high or far, but just enough for him to move around, seeing as he lost one of his legs and he is way more confortable flying than walking).

The antennae on his head are helpful sensory organs, which he can use to feel changes in the enviroment such as electric fields and humidity - Hugh's senses get easily overwhelmed when he finds himself in modern big cities, mostly due to his sensible antennae. They can also be used for feromone communication with his little bees.

- Personality

Hugh prides himself in being kind, affectionate and very helpful. He's a very optimistic bean, with a huge heart and capacity of love - he learned very well from his adoptive dad's, mainly Michael.

He's aware of the fact that his appearance and bees scare most people, so he learned to not take the ones he has for granted - he knows that he's very lucky to have such friends and to be so dearly loved for who he is.

An extrovert, Hugh is never afraid to meet new people and loves to talk about whatever he can, especially his dear wife - speaking of which, he can't stop complimenting whatever she does. He went to the lengts of learning german just so she could feel more confortable in speaking to him, since her English is bad; he's very happy to be her translator, always smiling and looking at her with heart eyes (or eye, actually).

Hugh is not scared of voicing his problems and concerns. He has minor PTSD episodes, tho he had many years to learn how to deal with them, and always goes to help when he feels like needing it.

A confident little guy, full of love to give.

- Funfact: Hugh has a very high tolerance to sugar. He rarely has to eat anything, since the honey created by his bees is enough to give him all nutrients he needs. If he does eat anything, it's mostly sweet fruits. Diabetes fear him-

- Fiona Frauenfelder Apiston - she/her - Germany

Fiona also comes from the MPHFPC series, but the reason I chose to keep it is actually because of my uncle's dog. When I was a child and she was a puppy, I spent the whole Christmas night taling care of her so she would not be alone while the adults where talking and eating; I always loved that dog and she's very old now. It's been years since I last saw her and to change the name of my character would be betrayng that damn dog. I could never.

Frauenfelder is a swiss surname, which mens "someone who comes from Frauenfeld", a place in Switzerland. According to google, Frauenfeld means "field of women" and that is very cool.

Apiston is Hugh's surname. She got it from him.

- Striker

Often overlooked, a striker's position is the one of hunter and gatherer. Tho Fiona usually is responsible only for the gathering part, she is indeed a very good hunter as well, who can use the plants to her advantage.

Her knowledge in plants is extremely important in collecting fruits and plants to be eaten or used in remedies. Fiona doesn't have to work very hard in finding what is needed, given her fitocinetic hability, but she still goes out in hunts with her striker companions.

- Plant Manipulation

Fiona's power makes her capable of creating and manipulating almost any form of plantlife, apart from magical ones.

She's able to make plants grow almost anywhere, having a strong connection with nature because of that. Her favorite plant is the mallow flower, which grows out of her body when she's feeling happy.

Flowers grow whenever Fiona walks on land, usually leaving a very coloful path leading to her - or, in case of anger, a very thorny and dangerous path full of poison ivy.

- Personality

Fiona has selective mutism. She suffers from severe anxiety and is really only able to speak in whispers to Hugh, the person with whom she's most confortable with. Apart from that, she spends most of her time in complete silence, unless she feels the need to speak. Not many people know her voice.

Her strong fear of public interaction with people she doesn't know make her seem weird in the eyes of strangers and she grew to learn that it's not her fault she's this way. She doesn't need a voice to express herself, mostly, and only uses her flowers and plants to show her strongest emotions.

She's a caring girl, always there if needed by any of her crewmates. She's a good listener, who'll kindly pay attention to her colleagues. But don't let her looks fool anyone, she's a strong girl if needed.

She may be a mess of a person, but she'll always follow her gut and do almost anything so the ones she care for can be safe.

- Funfact: Fiona's dream was to settle down and grow old with Hugh, with a big family. She knows very well that is far from what they can afford - being peculiars, the thought of having a place where time can pass normally and they can get old is just a fairytale. They'll never get to do that; instead, their bodies and minds will stay frozen in time for as long as they live. She learned to be okay with that, but deep down she still earns for a different life.

- Relationship: Hugh

MAG 141 Relisten

Activity on my first listen: mowing the lawn.

JON: “Any better?” BASIRA: [Nauseously] "Not really." As much as I grew to dislike Basira in S4, she has my deepest sympathy here. I'm suffering from severe kinetosis and this shit sucks. Affects me almost everyday. Whenever movement and visual information don't meticulously match up - boom, nauseous! And it takes forever to subside...

JON: "Mikaele Salesa. You used to work on his ship.” SHIPHAND (FLOYD): "I don’t know you." JON: [Archly] "But I know you." Jon does sound quite hungry here... like neglected animal kind of hungry...

"It wasn’t a problem, not really" Not really-counter of S4: 7! (btw. for this I'm only counting the not reallys which emphasize a preceding negating sentence. Not when it’s coming up in a sentence itself or as an answer like Basira’s not really in the first bullet point.)

Seriously, the way Floyd portrays Salesa here makes me want to work for him xD Treating his crew well, doesn't threaten them... I have a soft spot for (criminal) characters who treat others with dignity and respect. That's why I also love Gustavo from Breaking Bad so much.

"My last voyage with him was the one that killed him. Seven years ago; I still have nightmares sometimes. Tried to escape it, but some things follow you no matter where you go." Hmm... What did Gertrude say? "Whatever nightmares your experiences left you with, I’m sure they won’t be bothering you much longer."

"I’ve gone over that memory so many times, trying to think what I might have missed, but even now, whenever I think of it, it just looked like an old camera with a broken lens." Oh, the foreshadowing! When I was on my first listen I remembered the artefact itself when Salesa talked about it in MAG 181. But I absolutely could not remember in which statement it was mentioned then.

"But there was something else. In the light of the flashing storm I could clearly see the waters around the island, and there was something there. A huge shape, a shadow surrounding it on all sides; getting darker, getting closer, coming up from deep, deep below the surface. It must have been huge, so large that the edge of it almost touched the ship, and had we been a few minutes slower I have no doubt whatever awful thing emerged that night, it would have taken us as well." I don't quite understand this bit. Huge creature, lightning, clearly Vast. It always sounded to me like that camera was keeping that thing in check, suppressed, since it only emerged after the camera was taken. But I don't think the camera blocks out all Fears, at least of what we'll hear in MAG 181. Annabelle for example, she's only being kept alive by the Web and yet she is very much not dead. And Salesa says there was once an insect of the Corruption finding its way into his bubble, that also clearly wasn't repelled. So was this manifestation of the Vast the keeper, protector? of the camera and emerged to express its anger or to try to get it back?

"He wasn’t making much sense. We managed to gather the two of them had left early to deliver the artefact, but something had gone wrong. There had been an argument. They had been betrayed. Salesa was dead." If you don't see a character die directly, there's always a chance they didn’t!

JON: "It’s alright, Floyd. You just… need a break." FLOYD: "Yeah… Sure.” So uhhh... The compulsion doesn't not only make people answer questions, whether being simple answers or an entire statement, it also order people to do things?

JON: "He didn’t exactly seem inclined to volunteer the information. Besides, you said I needed to be ready for Ny-Alesund. “Full power” I believe were your words. The statement helped." BASIRA: "And now he’s going to see you in his dreams as he relives that for the rest of his life. Because… because a tape recorder told you to do it?" JON: "Yes, Basira, he is. Isay is a 2.53m nonbinary (any pronouns) polyamory, demisexual, pan(romantic/sexual) Noodle from my closed species, Sirises, humanoid intersex oviparous fire magician aliens 🫶

MAIN FACTS ABOUT ISAY

4167 years old, slightly mad, altruist, survivalist, drifter, has no instinct of self-preservation, adores comforting their lovers and calling them with cute nicknames (and kinda intentionally pissing them off this way) xD Loves children and dreams to born their own child 💔 They was a good loving parent for adopted children many many times in the past 😌

Isay’s age - is too much even for Sirises (500-2000 is norm), but due to one tragic event - Isay simply can't die, and regenerates no matter what. As a result, Isay’s memory is damaged and scattered: sometimes Isay happens to forget big parts of their life, or even who they are, what they are, and where they came from. Isay has a ‘memory-keys’ collection to keep their memory in order: a close people's photos from past + short notes, a round glasses collection including even really aged ones, and even collection of cold gun and bullets which Isay was ever wounded by xD

Isay falls in love very easily, yet is floating between demisexual/asexual ~ They don't ‘need’ intimacy, but might get interested if evolve a deep trustful relationships with someone. Isay’s sexuality depends of MANY things, including Sirise’s specific features, so, Isay’s current partner, Zack (24 y.o. human boi), is the first person who Isay got interest to try intimacy with ~ All Isay’s relationships before were platonic only ~

This isn't native for Sirises and came from parasite Isay got in the past (something between Leucochloridium paradoxum & Сordyceps unilateralis). Isay removed the parasite's ‘core’, but the ‘roots’ has merged with Isay's body and changed their DNA forever 💀 Isay has a creepy-long tongue due to the same parasite 👁👄👁 The vid about parasite is in the end ~

SIRIS SPECIFIC FEATURES SHINING IN ISAY

Isay is a fire magician (can produce/control/swallow any fire), so their body temperature is higher than human’s: near 45c and might grow to hell high. When this happens - Isay ‘cries’ blood (it hurts..) due to literally boiled blood & bursted eye capillaries 💀💔

Isay's bodytype depends from hydration level only ~ Sirises have evolved a liquid-saving tissue instead of adipose tissue: mostly located on tail, hips, booty and boobies ~ So the more hydrated is Isay = the more they soft and curvy ~ And the less they is hydrated = the thinner. Tail wideness changes too ~

HYPER-EMPATHY

Sirises have a feature that may be named as ‘hyper-empathy’: they can feel if a person has ‘bad’ or ‘good’ vibes towards them: friendly/hostile, likes/hates, happy/miserable, relaxed/scared etc.

Also they might adopt other's emotions or multiply their own, if they feel the same. It doesn’t depend on Sirise's will with other species (only with other Sirises) and may be much traumatic psychically. By this reason, Sirises are mostly a vegeterian specie and they won’t eat / exploit life forms which are evolved enough to feel pain and emotions. Isay follows that diet as well ~

But Isay personally - is no longer able to feel emotions by itself by the exact same reason why they have became Immortal. Generally, they needs to live among people to be able to have any feelings. So, basically, Isay is kind of empty vessel and is obligated to co-exist with humans (or other species) in a sort of symbiotic relationships. Otherwise, Isay would slowly fall into sort of catatonic state of mind for god knows how long. An opposite effect: they might get overwhelmed by people’s emotions around if those are too intense (fear / euphoria / grief / etc) - and this may cause them a mental breakdown and even seriously damage their sanity 💀

EARS

Isay's ears has a lot of nerve endings which helps Isay anticipate weather/atmosphere pressure/wind changes, and generally their ears - are their main organs in terms of their hyper-empathy ~

Due to this - their ears are VERY MUCH sensitive for someone's touches ~ It may be really pleasuring with loving person which Isay trusts, but it will be much painful with unfamiliar person which Isay doesn't trust, and especially if person has bad ‘vibes’ or is simply hostile ~ This involves any sorts of interactions: from a simple touches to injuries and works only in terms of ‘someone’s’ touches. If ears are touched by an item (hat, pillow, etc) there wouldn’t be much trouble, but if the same item touches Isay’s ears while being held by a person - then the trouble starts xD

HAIR

Isay's hair is super coarse (Siris feature) so it’s always kinda messy and spiked ~ But it becomes curly and fluffy when Isay falls in love, and SUPER curvy when Isay is aroused ~ In opposite: hair becomes straight and heavy when Isay feels unwell mentally and physically 💔

TAIL

Isay’s tail is ‘meaty’ and it’s tip can serve as additional ‘hand’ ~ Also, those fancy things on the base of the tail are not fur but fleshy soft scions which serve as liquids storage as well ~ When Isay's body is hydrated well - they're bigger, but when the body is dehydrated - they almost disappear 💦

EYES

Isay is a MONSTER because u know what??

They LOVE onion's juice!! It doesn't hurt them!! Quite the opposite: it CALMS their eyes after blood crying so Isay uses onion juice as eye drops!! And yes.. sometimes Isay smells like roasted onion.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT

Never give them anything with caffeine 💀

Any food/drinks which contains caffeine affects on Isay's specie like heavy alcohol or drugs, so Isay have to avoid it to act sanely <:D

Also, energy drink can affect them like aphrodisiac (depends of circumstances) 👁️💦

On the other hand: no any human addictive things doesn't affect Sirises. But they will get heavily dizzy and might even black out if you smoke cigarettes near them 💀

@thesatiricaldemon *waves* So you requested a fic about Daniel, Dommik, and N on an inter-dimensional vacation to one of my other fic verses...and the very first thing that came to mind was a follow up on a thread about a certain crystalline butterfly birthday present Dan sent to the Victors that my Secundus boy found very inspiring. XD So yeah, that's what you're getting. Hope you enjoy!

This Feels Like A Recipe For Disaster

“. . .and that allowed me to dampen the threat response! They still react if one of the flock gets injured, but it’s more of a ‘chase away the potential threat’ thing – they won’t try a full swarm unless you full-on shatter one of them.”

“Oh, excellent, excellent! And I see in your notes here you were looking to see if you could get different colors – I would imagine that if you added that lovely compound to the caterpillar mid-metamorphosis, you could get a truly acidic shade of green!”

“Maybe, but that also has a good chance of completely destabilizing the metamorphosis entirely. . .though I guess it’s all about how much I add. . .”

Alice looked over at the two, hunched over the main experimentation table in Victor’s greenhouse lab, and shook her head fondly. “I’m sorry, it sounds like they may be at this for a while,” she commented, turning back to their other two guests. “Victor was – very inspired by that little gift your Dr. Daniel sent along for his birthday.”

“So I can see,” Dommik said, grinning in that rather off-kilter way he had. Then again, Alice supposed that since he was really some sort of odd vampire-worm thing running around in a human suit (and how she wished she didn’t know that), it was only to be expected. “Daniel was hoping that he’d enjoy the statue, but I don’t think he expected him to try and recreate it.”

Normally it’s a bad idea for anyone to attempt to copy anomalous flora and fauna, N added, their cold gaze fixed on Daniel and Victor as they kept exchanging ideas on tweaks to the crystalline butterflies Victor was working on. But your husband seems to have a rare talent in that regard.

“Only because it’s a butterfly, I’m sure,” Alice replied, folding her arms. “Lepidoptery is Victor’s specialty. He can work with other insects too – we’ve got a hive of modified bees from a honey-making venture he attempted a little while back – and he’s got some talent with engineering, but butterflies and moths are where he shines.” She grinned. “Possibly because his very first project as a Touched was figuring out how to make them glow.”

“Oooh! I’d love to see that!” Dommik said, excitement shining through his eye sockets. “I’m sure they’re beautiful!”

“They are – and much less deadly than the creatures you lot apparently deal with on a daily basis,” Alice said, glancing between them and Daniel. “I thought Secundus could be a rowdy place to live sometimes, but after the stories you’ve told us of your world, it seems almost – peaceful.”

It is a difficult place to exist sometimes, N agreed. But we have found happiness there, regardless of the circumstances. They tilted their head at her. I do still find it interesting you do not exhibit the same Hume potential as the Alice we know at home.

“Oh, I’d love to be able to bend reality to my will,” Alice grumbled. “It’d make life so much easier. . .then again, your Alice seems to have had a very different life to mine, even if some of the broader events match up?”

“Mmm? Oh, yes – I’ve noticed your meta-narrative placement is much different from hers,” Daniel commented, looking up from the notepad he’d been sharing with Victor. “As is this Victor’s from the one I know. No waking up Emily means no potential for necromancy at all!”

“I’ll take raising butterflies over raising the dead,” Victor mumbled, scribbling something with a frown. “Hmmm – I’m not entirely sure that’s adding up right. . .”

“I’m just wondering where Smiler is,” Dommik said, looking around.

Alice blinked, then glanced over at Victor, who looked equally confused. “Ah – who?”

“You know – Smiler! Your themfriend?”

“Wrong universe, dearest,” Daniel said, with a slightly softer version of his trademark manic grin. “This romantic situation was resolved before their creation – though they may be here somewhere in potentia! Perhaps I could look into the matter!”

“Who are they?” Victor asked. “Other than a ‘themfriend.’” He smiled, tone light. “What, are we supposed to be a threesome too?”

Daniel laughed. “You could if you wanted to be! In fact, in studying the meta-verse for this trip, I actually located a reality where you and Alice are part of a nine-person polycule!”

Alice and Victor shared another, much more astonished glance. “. . .all right, now you have to tell us about that one,” Alice said after a moment, shaking her head. “Because I have got to know.”

Monster Hunter Tri Diary, Part 8: Lovely Ludroth at the beach & visit from the Argosy

Disclaimer: Text is paraphrased from my localization and might slightly deviate from the English version.

Quest: No love for Ludroth

Since we're not in danger of encountering any large monsters for now, I donned my good old Leather armor again. The skills it has are quite good for gathering, and even when I'm doing a slay quest, I like to pick up some items along the way.

Our client is a former caravan leader - emphasis on "former", since he apparently wanted to pet some Ludroth and is pissed that he got fired because the Ludroth gave him a slap in the face. As compensation, he wants me to give them a few slaps back. So basically, I'm killing monsters for some guy's personal vendetta - well, I guess I'm getting paid for it...

And the Guild Sweetheart is there again, contacting us once more with her telepathic skills and giving us a brief introduction to Urgent Quests: "An Urgent Quest has to be done IMMEDIATELY!" (Sort of ironic though, since you can actually take your sweet time completing an Urgent Quest.)

"Your target this time is a water monster: the Ludroth. It might be a bit stronger than what you're used to." Oh, trust me: You don’t know what I'm used to. xD

Now you're only getting 3 first aid-meds and 2 mini whetstones from the supply box. No more greenhorn coddling - shit's getting real now.

I just got an Insect Husk as a shiny drop from an Altaroth. Biggest disappointment ever.

Anyway, going to area 10, the ladies are already waiting for us, with their sleek green skin and slender amphibian bodies. xD (Ludroth are one of the monsters that are canonically female; according to their description, they form "harems around large males" during breeding season, so I'm guessing the caravan leader was just passing through the area at a particularly bad time.)

The noises Ludroth make actually kinda sound like those of seals. xD (Can you blame the caravan leader for wanting to pet them? He probably heard them and went like "oh, cuddly sea doggos ^^".)

Man, those people weren't kidding - the Ludroth really do hit hard (especially when you're wearing a Leather armor with minimum protection). Good thing I packed my extra potions.

Once again, you can see how they recycled the monsters' movesets here: The Ludroth have the same attack patterns as the Lagiacrus; the same slide and snap attacks on land, and the same charge and snap attacks underwater. (The devs probably did this to save space, since making individual animations for each monster would've taken up too much time, but it's still quite funny.)

One Ludroth just killed her own sister. xD Well, fratricide also exists among Ludroth, I guess.

In the end, I had to use one potion to heal myself, in addition to the first aid-meds I got from the box. You could probably do it with just the first aid-meds in a challenge though, if you pay a little more attention to dodging than I did.

I also managed to kill one additional Ludroth and carve a Monster Bone S just before the "Quest Completed" screen popped up. Always try to squeeze the most rewards out of it, I say. ^^

Moga Village (night)

The Argosy is in town! Wohoo! (I always loved the Argosy theme - it's so awesome!)

The Argosy seems to have her own crest: an anchor in tribal style with two monster heads at each end, seen on the sail.

The Argosy Captain speaks with an accent (at least in my localization), which is sort of endearing. Also, since whatever we and the people of Moga are speaking obviously isn't the Captain's native tongue, that must mean there are multiple languages in the MH world.

The Captain calls himself a "giant from the Far East". This is interesting because according to the canon MH map, the country of Shiki, which has a large population of Wyverians and generally a Japanese flair (being believed to be the place where the villages of Yukumo and Cathar are located), actually lies in the west. With the Argosy Captain being a Wyverian and also having Japanese vibes, I'm surprised he doesn't hail from there. Maybe there's another Wyverian country on the other side of the globe? (Alternatively, it might be just Capcom mixing up their own geography.) EDIT: Nope, I've got it mixed up myself. Shiki is in the east of the MH world, as you can see on the map on this page. That actually makes it highly likely the Captain hails from there.

The Argosy comes to Moga because there are some rare goods around here (particularly from monsters, which you get from slaying them in the Moga Woods), and these commodities fetch a good price overseas. This implies the world of Monster Hunter has quite a vast trade network.

The Captain occasionally throws his own vocabulary into his dialogue (sometimes including translations), and since I had a feeling these were Japanese words, I took the time to check. In the cases where the Captain provides a translation, I could confirm that kōkan ("exchange"), purezento ("present", derived from the English word), kōen ("park"), and shōnin ("approval") are indeed Japanese words. This also goes for the cases where no translation is provided, such as "What is your Youken?" (yōken literally translating to "requirement", so it would mean "What do you require?"/"What do you need?"), "Kyakka!" (meaning "rejected") after explaining there won't be a deal if your commodities are worth less than his, and "De wa, sea wind is calling!" (I actually knew this one myself, since dewa is sort of a formal farewell in Japanese; if you say "dewa mata ashita" to someone, it would mean "Well then, until tomorrow!") So, the Argosy Captain is definitely speaking Japanese.

I can get Mega Harpoons from the Captain. I wonder what those are for, though; Mega Bugnets and Pickaxes don't break as fast as the normal ones, but since harpoons seemingly don't break, I wonder why you'd even need a mega version?

What does a Saturnian Trap do again? Well, I guess the only way to find out is by trying...

So, I got myself a Mega Harpoons and one Saturnian Trap from the Captain, just to see what they do - plus a Firefly, since I could still afford it with the goods I traded.

The Captain says Moga Village is far away from the city, so contact with the Guild isn't a walk in the park. I guess that's why it took them so long to respond. (If you want to give them the benefit of a doubt and assume they weren't straight up ignoring us.)

He also says the sweetheart behind the quest counter deserves to earn more for the hard work she's doing! Completely agree, mate.

"Humans die, but trade lives forever!" That's actually not untrue - even if a person dies, the world around them continues to live on, and as long as there's humanity, there will also be trade.

And we meet yet another fellow who came with the Argosy: The wandering Felyne cook who is apparently French (judging by his accent) and has quite a lot of trouble dealing with sea sickness, promptly throwing up once he's on firm ground. xD

"A cook of my caliber belongs in a kitchen that isn't always shaking!" Honestly, buddy, I can relate - I'm also anything but seaworthy.

"Your Chief has allowed me to stay here; in return, I offered my services. I offer extraordinary culinary art! Mein food is good for your health, attack, and more!" My friend, you are hired - I would never turn down any Felyne cook who gives me these sweet food effects. :-)

If I'm not mistaken, this is also the first time they introduced the cooking method as an additional factor; back in Freedom Unite, it was just dependent on the ingredients and what skills the Felyne cooks came with. Our cook first has to prepare his canteen though, so I suppose we'll have to do one hunt before we can enjoy his culinary skills.

"Felyne tongues are very sensitive to taste, and mine twice as much!" Ah, is that why Felynes are so often employed as cooks? (Not that I want to encourage it, but you would expect people to have prejudices about "hairs in the food" when Felynes do the cooking; this actually provides a reasonable explanation for the abundance of Felyne cooks.)

"Others flatter you with words, I with food!" Well, I think I prefer the food - at least it has substance and doesn't just consist of hot air.

"I may be wearing clothing from the Far East, but I'm multilingual! Between the bouts when my food flew over the Argosy's railing, I learned your language from the Captain." So, the Felyne cook also has a different native tongue - however, he doesn't speak Japanese like the Argosy Captain. So, are there multiple languages in the Far East? (It would be a bit unusual for people there to speak French, though.) Then again, he might not actually hail from there, and the clothes were simply given to him by the Captain.

Village Chief: "The Argosy is our connection to the outside world." Given how often they've mentioned how remote Moga is, I wonder where it's located in the MH world - it certainly sounds like you have to make half a world cruise to get there.

"The Argosy's Captain is a rich merchant from the Far East. I know him way longer than I would admit. Back then, we were young and carefree. I've saved his life countless times, and he did the same for me." Dang, now I really want to know the backstory of the Village Chief and the Argosy Captain. (Knowing the Chief once was a hunter, did they meet during his hunting career? Could it be that the Captain also has some hunting experience, given he wields a Long Sword?)

"We have an agreement that the Argosy docks here in regular intervals. Trade with other countries is equally beneficial for our village as a strong hunting fleet or a productive farm." I’d believe that, since it’s literally the only way they can get items they can’t produce themselves. I wonder what the commodities from Moga are used for in foreign countries, though - I could imagine that scales, fangs, horns are in high demand for making accessories.

"The Captain may be my friend, but he's also a businessman. A good relationship changes nothing about the prizes." Gotta give the Captain credit for being fair, though - just because you're buddies with him doesn't mean you get stuff for free.

The Argosy Captain tells us he’s also agreed to the Felyne cook’s decision to stay in Moga. Apparently, even the Captain sympathized with his troubles. As he puts it: "Learn recipe, try recipe, throw up recipe. Tragic tale!" xD

The Argosy Captain also informs us that he formerly worked in a first-rate restaurant in the city. I take it the Felyne cook once worked in Loc Lac, then?

The Argosy Captain even hands me a coupon from the cook's old restaurant, telling me to redeem it in the canteen. I'm honestly surprised the coupon is still valid, since the cook's restaurant in the city probably has been closed for quite some time. xD

There is also a sailor from the Argosy walking around in the village, but he speaks even more broken than the Captain. From what I can gather though, Moga is special because it's always the first stop on their travels, which makes it like a second home to him. That’s actually kinda sweet. :-)

"Ask why the Captain speak your language so good?" Well, I can understand him better than you, at least. xD (Then again, whatever language they're speaking here is probably hard for them to learn, so I'm gonna give them some credit here.)

"Language learning important to... how you say? Fry horizons?" I get what you mean, but you might want to practice these idioms again... ^^'

The Chief's Son is actually making gestures to the sailor, beckoning him to transport the discharged cargo to the stockpile. Nice touch - I love these kinds of interactions between NPCs.

Btw, the Chief's Son informs me they want to build an insect box at the farm. I have juuust enough resources to do that, in addition to the 1 Monster Fluid you need for it. (Good thing I picked up the materials from those Giggis. ^^)

The smith compliments me on my success with the Ludroth hunt, introducing me to his newest creation he invented in the meantime: charms! If I'm not mistaken, Tri is the first game in the series to have charms (at least they weren't in Freedom Unite). For starters, he gives me the good old standard Autoblock talisman. Meanwhile, the item vendor is happy that business is going much better due to the Argosy stopping by again. (I guess that might have avoided Moga for a time because of the earthquake?) As such, she has decided to give a 50% discount on everything as long as the Argosy is in town. Excellent opportunity for me to stock up on some stuff.

One thing that's exempt from the discount, however, are the Books of Combos. No way to get the most expensive items a little cheaper, I guess.

"Cool Drinks clear the mind and help against the heat. Cool!" Oh no, now the item vendor also has taken lessons from the gossip lady! The disease of silly puns is spreading, guys! xD

Big Brother: "Mom says big monsters are so loud that they roar holes into your ears. But I've already GOT holes in my ears! So nothing can happen to me!" Big brother being a fountain of wisdom as always. xD

Guild Sweetheart: "Hunter, did you see? The Argosy is here! Well, how could you have not seen her... She's gigantic!" Yep, a ship that's longer than the whole pier is pretty hard to miss... ^^'

"The Argosy is a trading vessel. It's part of the village life in Moga ever since I can remember." Sounds like the deal between the Argosy Captain and the Village Chief has been going on for a long time, probably since the Chief took over. Also, from the line above, you learn that the Guild Sweetheart is not merely an employee of the Guild who was sent to Moga, but actually one of the locals.

Apparently, the higher-ups of the Guild were so impressed by how I handled the Ludroth quest that they've given me permission to hunt in a whole new area: the Sandy Plains! According to the Guild Sweethearts monster guide, it's a "dry region, known for high temperatures and monster hordes". Well, if that doesn't sound inviting.

Also, we've got our first quest to hunt a big monster: the Great Jaggi! Yay! (Among the dinosaur-like bird wyverns, the Great Jaggi is sort of my secret favorite. xD)

Guild Sweetheart: "Quests! Read them and cry." What a motivating preface! xD (Though it’s kinda true once you get to the later quests.)

"Mud from the Sandy Plains is excellent for beauty masks, you know. I’ve heard that there are monsters hiding in the mud. I bet they got clean pores and NO pimples. Enviable!" Well, once I meet Barroth, I'll make sure to ask him about his beauty routine. xD

"During my training in the city, I was discovered as an actress! You're hanging around with an almost-star! Lucky you!" So, I take it the Sweetheart was born in Moga, but went to Loc Lac for education. I wonder what she was supposed to act in, though. xD

"Don't hunt yourself to death, would ya?" I'll try not to. :-)

My Chamberlyne also tells me about furnishings, and that I should buy some from the Argosy Captain to decorate my room. I’d like to, but I don’t have any rare commodities right now; I do know, however, that you get them from slaying large monsters during Moga Woods hunts. (I’d first have to unlock the Great Jaggi for that though, and that’s not gonna happen until I did the Guild quest.)

Speaking of which, since I have used up all my resource points for the insect box upgrade, I'm gonna have to make a trip to the Moga Woods anyway, to stock up some resources. So, we'll do that first, and then we'll start off with the level 2 quests.

Helluva Boss (other) S2 trailer breakdown

Viziepop and the crew are back to releasing Helluva Boss content, which also now includes shorts, so to celebrate they released another trailer going over what will happen for the rest of Helluva Boss season 2.

So the trailer opens with what sounds like I.M.P. being wanted criminals, but I bet it’s taken out of context. Same with the scene of Blitzo saying they are on the run, which likely means he is just trying to get away from someone like Verosika or a ghost given what happens later on.

Points for the writers having Moxxie stand up to Blitzo by saying how much he hates him XD.

The Cherubs will be working with DHORKS! I recall that being a prediction/episode idea in a past work of mine so it’s nice to see that coming true. Looks like they will work together to open a portal to Hell where they kidnap Stolas or Blitzo but more on that later. I will say if it’s possible that at the end of the episode, their actions result in the Cherubs becoming fallen angels as stated in Hazbin Hotel.

Looks like some crazed robot runs amuck in the Lust Ring. If you pause it just right, the robot seems to have a symbol I think is inspired by something from Invader Zim. Wouldn’t be the first time as HH had a Overlord that looked by Dib’s dad.

No surprise, the "GhostF^*$ers" episode is a Ghostbusters parody, among other horror movie parodies and it seems like that hotel manager is possessed by something like demon. Blitzo is confirmed to be afraid of ghost so it would be interesting to see him deal with that fear. Also the episode could go over ghost and states between life and the afterlife, and how they work. I’m also getting a Zestial vibe from the manager from time to time.

We will indeed finally learn what Stolas does on Full Moons, which seems to involve a meeting between the royals of Hell, and not just the Goetia/bird demons. I see a snake demon (which maybe is part of the dinosaur population in Hell), a Baphomet, and what looks like a dog or cat like creature that has same ears as Queen Bee among what looks like wings! Are there other insect hybrids in Hell besides Bee? Could my bee demons headcanon still be actually canon?

However the biggest character seen there is that red bird Overlord from the Hazbin Hotel pilot! We finally know his name, which is Basago, I think it’s how its spelled because the subtitles aren’t helping. It’s cool to see that he is still around, actually wasn’t he or that 2 faced Overlord originally supposed to be Stolas before VIvzie changed it? I wonder if Basago is still an Overlord or not? This bring up some other questions, like can Hellborns (especially royals) be/also Overlords? I think so as along with Rosie being an Overlord with her also being implied to have been born in Hell, Zilla looks like she could be part of the Hellborn dinosaur race.

Basago seems concerned about Stolas, making me wonder if he could become an ally of his in the future. Could they be brothers?

Just wanted to point out Stolas reading another romance book, this one called Passion’s Brimstone. The cover has 2 Goetias looking lovingly at each other, making me think the book is about Goetias not happy in their arrange marriages and have an affair with each other, AKA what Stolas is going through. I wonder if it’ll be revealed that the book is based on an actual story, and Stolas finds comfort in another Goetia who hates the arrange marriage thing.

Andrealphus will be getting more screen time. Good because I’ve had some interesting ideas about him since his last appearance but let’s see the rest of the trailer first.

I wonder if that part about Stolas wanting someone to care about him will happen in front of the rest of I.M.P. or even a Goetia?

Blitzo is definitely going to say that rant in front of the Goetia meeting.

BLITZO’S MOM!

(sees tough character in shadow) Who is that? Could that be Satan? Does he agree that royals shouldn't date Imps, or does he think someone is just acting pathetic and dishonorable like Ozzie, Mammon, or a royal?

Blitzo and Stolas are around snow. THEY ARE GOING TO FIGHT ANDREALPHUS!

Yeah that hotel guy is definitely possessed. Given you can see aquatic features, its likely something from the Envy Ring. Looks like it can possess demons too given it is followed by

Millie fighting Blitzo.

That was Verosika cutting that dead Blitzo cake. No surprise she still has issues about him, but it looks like she and him will be able to deal with them in “Apology Tour” kind of like what happened with Blitzo and Fizz in “Oops”

Also is it just me or does Verosika’s chest look smaller then before?

Mammon is at the Goetia meeting? Does that mean Bee and the other sins will be there too? I bet Lucifer won’t be there due to more important things, aka making ducks or spending time with Charlie. Not to mention they haven’t had big HH cameos yet so I don’t see them doing it now, though prove me wrong writers. Also Mammon has a fidget spinner and finger skateboard with him. I don’t think I need to remind people that he is an idiot.

Is Fizz hooking Blitzo up with a romantic hotel room? I see the thing having a hat that looks like Stolas, yet I bet this will be for Blitzo and Verosika.

(Millie with glass in eye) OH SHIT MILLIE! PLEASE don’t let her loose that eye. I’ve said it before but there are too many similarities between Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel already, and we DON’T need any more.

Looks like Millie joins in with Blitzo on his “higher ups suck” speech.

While its likely Stolas’ comment about feeling remorse for what someone does is aimed at Stella or Andre, I feel like he is talking to Blitzo. Maybe Stolas wonders what it’s like for him to kill someone, as maybe he is debating about killing Stella and Andre before they go after him again?

Again, Blitzo and Stolas will fight Andre. Did he ice Stolas’ house? Is that the house Stella was living at during season 1? Did Andre inherit it? Again more on that later.

UGH Again Octavia is complaining about her father liking Blitzo more than he does her and Stella. We’ve seen this already; can we please get something else from her. Back when the Instagram accounts were used, I recall a Halloween pic of her and Stolas where Stolas says Octavia was always against the norm, so why not have a plot with her wanting to do something else with her life besides be royalty, like become a professor in astronomy? This also reminds me of a Tumblr post I made about how Stella could be trying to take her away from Stolas, but now I feel like she would WILLINGLY try to stay away from her father, and I think we can agree that would be sad (and boring) to see.

This is the only time we see Stella in this trailer, meaning she will likely have a small role…again. Recently I made a Tumblr post about if Helluva Boss might have been better if she was dead before the events of the series, and I want to know your thoughts about it.

Looks like Octavia will be getting a song. She is holding a tear drop, which I wonder if it’s a callback to the name of the meteor shower she didn’t get to see with her dad, or if it represents how she feels. Likely the latter.

Are the agents and cherubs going to torture Blitzo by making him look at his past mistakes? That is messed up and would definitely make the cherubs become fallen angels. At least Cletus and Keenie. It would explain that scene of Blitzo seeing his mom. At least it sounds like Blitzo will finally move on from his pain this season.

Stolas singing at a what I think looks like a “Blitzo Sucks” concert with Verosika and Tex. Obviously they want us to think he’s moved on from Blitzo, but I bet they will get together either this season, or they will at least become friends and get together in season 3, as it’s confirmed that Helluva Boss will have a total of 4 seasons.

Nice to get a timeline of when the episodes will come out, I think no one doubted the Ghost and Sinsmas episodes would come out on their fitting holidays. Fingers crossed there are no delays…and that we get shorts between the long gap between June and October.

With this I have predictions for what the episodes will be about. “Full Moon” will be Blitzo and Stolas dealing with DHORKS and Cherubs where they FINALLY get over their drama but decide to become friends/friends willing to try dating. “Apology Tour” has IMP helping Verosika, likely from some fan/rival given the robot looking thing, where they get help from Fizz and Blitzo and Verosika have their own little “Oops” plot line. “Ghostf%$%^ers" will be a Blitzo and Mille team up episode where they deal with a wandering spirit or demon, where tension will form between Blitzo and Millie which I think would be great to see as they haven’t really had conflict between them yet. “Mastermind” is a bit tricky, but I think during a meeting of Hell’s royalty/higher ups Stolas will be missing because he has to deal with something involving Blitzo or Octavia, or both and its likely Andre’s fault. That’s bad as they need for something, so it’s a race against time. I feel like this will be the beginning of a storyline where people will start to look into Stolas to see if he committed any crimes. Maybe it will be about Mammon using that robot I mentioned earlier to try and get Fizz back, and IMP is hired to protect him? “Sinsmas” will be the episode where Blitzo and Stolas fight Andre, who is likely there with Stella visiting Octavia during the holiday. They get into a fight, but I feel like this will make Octavia mad at her dad and decides to live with her mom from now on. This could lead to a finale cliffhanger where in a reverse from season 1, Stolas wants time away from Blitzo, hopefully not as we don't need to go through that again.

That was an entertaining trailer. Love that they seem to be going back to storylines like Blitzo dealing with his past (especially those involving romance) by interacting with his former love interest face to face like Verosika and especially Stolas. I really like that we will get to learn more about things like what Stolas does on Full Moons (if anything) and that meeting of Hell’s royalty.

What I really loved is that Andre will be getting more screen time, as recently I’ve had a new idea for what could happen if he was made the main antagonist of Helluva Boss. In the past I said he would go after Stolas’ family and while I still think that will happen, he will eventually realize Stolas’ position is small when compared to becoming a Sin. That’s right I think it would be crazy awesome if Andre tries to overthrow Asmodeus! I could see other royals not liking the idea of a Sin dating an Imp, so I bet they would want to get rid of him for that and I can see Andre taking that chance to get more power.

Dragon Visages in Lore

Ok so recently I saw @/kissfortheelves ask if Dragons could take any humanoid appearence or if the one they had was like, the one they had and that’s it. And I’ve seen a few people asking this same question, so I thought to share all that I know regarding this from my exhaustive consumption of WoW lore, in a neat little post xD Hope it helps!

Ok, so short answer is yes, by Lore, any Dragon can take any form they wish to, any time, anywhere. Shapeshifting is a magic inherent to them. However, it is stated that there’s a particular appearance they favour, the one they’re most comfortable with, and usually is the one they show themselves in when interacting with mortals.

The closest example I can give right now is Kalecgos, who looks like a half elf as his favoured visage. Although it has caused him some problems here and there (mostly during the Sunwell trilogy), he says that that’s the form he feels more comfortable in, so he doesn’t change it. Why that would make him look and sound exactly like Anduin, I’ve got no idea, but oh well

(Most of this I’m taking from what I remember from the Sunwell trilogy, so forgive me if new lore has come out that challenges this)

Another sample would be Kairozdormu the Bronze dragon, who took a male belf visage for most of pandaria, but when he took Garrosh to past Draenor, he took the appearance of a uncorrupted orc to blend in (you find him in that form in Draenor, or his corpse at least)

Then there’s Krasus/Korialstraz the Red Dragon, who has short black hair in the novels and the comics but has long blond hair In Game (¿? XD) although he remains a High Elf

I’m pretty sure there are more samples, but these are the ones I could gather from memory

It is also implied in the lore (although I’m not sure how canon this is still) that their visage can be affected by their mental state. Malygos canonically used a High elf with blue hair during the war of the ancients. However, after Deathwing’s betrayal and the almost destruction of his flight, we are told that he adopted a insect like form, small, thin like a skeleton, and covered in patches of ice. It is implied this is the result of all the grief and guilt that consumed him, which resulted in his “madness”.

Regarding gender, it’s clear that the one from the Dragon form doesn’t have to influence the one from the visage, although if this has special meaning it depends entirely on the character. Chromie/Chronormu is probably the most well known sample, as we know she transitioned from male to female (althought she kept her birthname) and took the visage of a female gnome. This is the only part where Dracthyr visage and Dragon visage seem to work the same, as there is a Dracthyr character who uses and is refered to as female in her draconic form, but is shown later in a male model visage form. The sceenshots that were shown to me were from the beta and I haven’t seen the characters in my exploration of the game yet, so I won’t say more in case this is considered a spoiler (or blizzard changed their mind).

Why you should love Azuma Michinaga!

Actually Im not trying to convice anyone to like him. In fact if you hate him... go away plz XD... or if you want to read what I have to say... stay. OwO

I also im doing this because there’s a lot of unjustified hate towards him, that makes me wonder if we have watched the same show.

This is just my feelings about Michi... because it have been an experience to like him. He’s definitely not the type of character that I usually love, but here I’m loving him a lot. Shipping aside he’s definitely the best character in Geats for me. I will not cover shipping preferences in this because that could be another topic XD and you know... let’s be real, no matter who your fav ship in Geats is, it will never be canon. If Geats production team is pushing the AzuAce agenda is just marketing, they know very well that sells (and Im buying it XD).

I will also counter the usually speech of people that hate him: He’s evil, he kills people, he dont deserve redemtion arc... etc, etc... Excuse me? Have you pay attention to the show? Or we have not watched the same show?

So... let’s go to see why you should love Michinaga as much as Ace does:

Those that knows me or know this blog... know already that I hated 01! I was prepared to hate Geats the same way that I hated 01 just because Yuuya Takahashi (the main writer). I didnt expect to enjoy this series as much as I do now. Moreless to love a character as Michinaga: A tsundere boy, self centered with anger problems, revenge and the desire to crush all Kamen Riders. The boy sound exactly like everything that I could hate. X,D

Michinaga was my fav from Geats pressconference... why? because he looked like a Kamen Rider Blade character... in fact he looked like the combination of Kenzaki and Hajime. (and I still have my head canon that Michi is their son X,D But that’s for another post X,D).

So yeah my like for him in the beggining was just something totally unrelated to the show. Was just his looks. I didnt care at all for him in the first episodes... in fact I didnt care for anyone in the show. Nor Ace, Neon, or even Keiwa seems like good people to the heart in the beggining. Entering this DGP to fulfill their dreams and go with it without really asking why? how? and when? Ofc, this is what this story is about, specially with a main protagonist that we know nothing about.

Michinaga was an average character (may be annoying yes) till the moment he die in early episodes (ep 15 I believe), the scene of him dying in Ace arms was really significant, specially because is the first time we see the boy being true with his words, saying to Ace: Give me a reason to believe on you. before pass out.

Before the episode, every interaction of Michinaga and Ace have been interesting... because indirectly Ace have been advising him, with words: if you dont give up the chance to win will came. Surely... in those episodes Ace didnt see Michinaga as a rival at all... may be just like an annoying lad. But everything change when he returned from the dead. And this is where Michanaga character turn to get interesting for saying the least.

This point is where Michinaga turns into what we call an antihero. He returns from dead to know the other side of the coin of the DGP. He was almost killed by Niram. He was picked up by Beroba like a playing toy without escape from the womans hand (she literaly says: join me or I kill you right here). Michinaga was pushed between the sword or the wall, something that haters tends to forget, he had no option to join to Beroba’s side (he didnt enjoy any of that).

I was totally amazed by Michinaga’s guts. The boy survived Niram deadly attack, like an annoying insect that wanted to survive. Then Michinaga state: FUCKS the DGP. He stated he wanted to crush the DGP now that he knows more than the facade. And I was: GO KING, TOTALLY DO IT, even if it destroys you!! TTATT

I became a fan of Michinaga’s guts. It was the begining of the arc 2 of the series, and I was annoyed that the series totally forgot about the mistery of the DGP and Ace and the others decided to go along with all the DGP rules. So I was all go Michi go Michi, even if he looks like he was suffering because the buckle. TTATT

In this point we could say that Michinaga changed. Even his primary objective of revenge changed. And I was puzzled like Ace was XD because I truly didnt know what to expect from Michi. He was bad?! What he wanted to do? What the fuck is he thinking? Why he didnt join forces with Ace and others?. Deep down inside I wanted to believe that Michi was a good person even if he was converting in a Jyamato, because he didn't enjoy any of it, he didn't laugh, he didn't smile, he even had to overcome the shadow of his friend, and he did in the most cold way possible.

We could safely say that Michi fighted to the top of his position to be consider Geats rival. I believe that by the end of the JGP, Ace totally considered Michi his equall, his rival. It’s character development at his finest.

Now, since the bullgame that Beroba trampled (because she always got in the way of the true intentions of Michinaga, but he go along with her just for reach his objective) we start to know that Michinaga is not all EVIL, he even did the Bullgame for stop the casualities. And everything starts to fit together like a puzzle.

Michinaga became the biggest hypocrite, he won even if costed him everything. And now he has the power that he wished for (and is using it for good, even Ace knows, thanks sukiyaki scene of ep36) and to this point he have joined sides with Ace to get down the DGP. I truly LOVE IT. Michiniga embodies what a Kamen Rider is to it’s core: fight evil with the power of evil.

About Michinaga being the biggest hypocrite, I just have to say that there’s no better thing than a hypocrite that knows that is hypocrite. You know... everyone in Geats is a hypocrite to a degree, even the goodest boy Keiwa, after all Geats goes by the premise: trample on the desires of others to achieve your desires.

That Michinaga don’t deserve redemption? Why? The boy havent been bad and evil, he didnt have any option than join Beroba’s side, he didnt kill people, and all the people that died in the heaven or hell game was casualities, like any other DGP game before it. Kamen Riders couldn’t save all the people in the DGP games, there have always been people that died (like Keiwa’s parents for example). The better that our Kamen Riders could do now is to get down the DGP, Ace and Michi knows... and its only matter of time that Keiwa joins them.

Now I could truly say that I’m enjoying Geats and all it’s cast. We still have time for the power ups and for all the boys and girl to act as true Kamen Riders.

It’s a shame that Geats is not the best, but is not the worse either. I’m aware of it’s faults, may be there have been too much focus on Michi (and haters gona hate X,D)... but come on he’s great, and it’s obvious that his spotlight will have to tone down this last part.

Now there’s a lot of tiny details to say about Ace and the others (Keiwa, Neon) and also about the production, but probably I will write about it till Geats ends. We still have the last quarter to watch, there’s still things to happen. So I will wait till the end.

Thank you if you have read till here. Let’s all love Michi, because he’s more than a tsundere boy with anger problems. He’s a good boy to the heart, he’s a good little bull! U3U And like Ace, Keiwa and Neon... he deserves to be happy and smile from the bottom of his heart. TTATT

Jon had always been more curious then he should have been. It resulted in his wings being singed more then once, he'd spent a day unable to fly after getting them a little crumples squeezing through a space to small for him. He didn't tell anyone about that, he was already isolated enough from his tribe he didn't need to be completely banished for putting them in danger if the humans found out about them.

There were plenty of creatures like them, slipping through the cracks and flitting around the edges of the world. It was best to avoid being seen directly, a niggling doubt that what they'd seen had really been a frog, or a squirrel, or a moth, but never certainty until it was to late.

Maybe that was why he'd been born with the eye pattern on his wings, not the most common, and perhaps a bad omen for his impending curiosity. His grandmother had never been able to keep him from wandering off, by the time she dies he understood why he shouldn't, but that rarely stopped him. Now he had less holding him back from seeing everything he wanted to see!

But now, well now he was in trouble, he had been watching a human. He was kind, he seemed nice! He brought insects outside rather then killing them and he spoke softly to himself when he was alone, which was most of the time. Jon was obsessive, always wanting to know more, so when he saw the window was open how was he to resist the pull of seeing, of Knowing? So he'd flitted inside, exploring the space Martin called home.

No one was in the room at the moment so he was free to explore, reading the titles of the books on Martin's shelf and seeing what he kept on his desk. Until he heard a creek, and a slide, and turned and saw that the window was closing by itself! He dove towards it but didn't arrive in time, slamming against the glass with a soft thump, frail form crumpling to the windowsill as the window slammed shut, catching the edge of his wing and trapping him.

"Oh it always does that!" Jon hears a familiar voice in a tone of gentle exasperation, footsteps coming closer as the moth remains frozen. "I need to get that window replac-Oh! Hello little thing," He said, sounding affectionate and sympathetic making Jon whimper near silently, keeping his head down, please think he was just a normal moth.

"Don't worry," Martin said reaching down towards him as Jon fluttered frantically. "Stop that you'll tear your wing!" Martin fretted before he grabbed the window and opened it just enough for Jon to pull loose, fluttering frantically but his wing was crumpled and he couldn't take off, when he tried and fell Martin caught him, cradling him gently in two soft, warm hands.

He shouldn't of, he knew he shouldn't of, but he looked up into those gentle blue eyes, Wrapping four small hands around one of Martin's thumbs to brace himself. "Oh," Martin sounded, his eyes widening as the small moth and the big human stared at each other for a long, silent moment.

"Please don't tell anyone," Jon pleaded faintly, making the human gasp.

"What are you?" Martin asked making Jon wince.

"I'm um, I'm a moth?" Jon said, folding his wings down along his back and twitching his antenna. "Just not a normal one?" He didn't want to explain the whole thing, if he was going to get in trouble he could at least try to keep the others like him out of trouble.

"Oh om, of course, I'm sorry I don't mean to be rude. Are you alright?" Martin asked, and Jon was surprised by how well he was taking it in stride, his concern winning out.

"Well, I won't be able to fly again right away," Jon said, testing his wing gingerly. "But I'll be alright, if you'll just-just put me back outside I can manage?" He said uncertainly.

"Are you sure? it might be dangerous when you can't fly right?" Martin asked, carrying Jon over to his desk and flattening his hands against the table so Jon could carefully hop off. "You can stay here till you're well, and if there's anything I can do to help?"

"Are you sure you just don't want time to call someone to show off the weird thing you found?" Jon asked suspiciously.

"What!? No!" Martin said sounding aghast, "I wouldn't so that I swear!" And really, deep down Jon knew that, he'd been watching Martin long enough.

He chuckled and shook his head a little at himself, looking up at Martin again with a little smile. "Alright, Um, my name is Jon by the way," He said shyly, it was actually really nice to talk to the human he'd been sort of obsessing over for the last while.

"I'm Martin," He said, hesitating before holding out his hand with a finger extended so Jon could take it in two of his hands and shake it carefully. "It's nice to meet you."

"Never had the academic chops to get access to your library or anything, but when all those statements were leaked back in ‘99" - <.< I wonder if it was a coincident that the Magnus Institute in Manchester burned down in 1999 in the Magnus Protocol or if there is any connection to this incident.

"So I’m kind of an artist. I like to use the detritus of mankind’s time on this planet to craft its own reflection back at itself, you know? So I take what others consider garbage and use it to send a message to the puppetmasters and fat cats who hold our lives in the palm of their hand and play with our society like a chess game. A message of art. You know what I’m talking about." - Actually I don't… and I graduated art school. So, does he take trash, make it into art and then sells it to rich people? If they don't consider you a super duper artsy-genius with a famous name, they probably won't care.

I just wanna say Jonny is playing this self-centered, overly confident art guy on speed extremely well. My brain is constantly trying to shut down.

Is there static during the passage from the book?

I didn't know there was an actual Amherst (Jeffery instead of John, but still) with a history in using diseases as weapon. In Austria we learn about prehistoric times, antiquity (a lot about Romans), medieval times, Renaissance, (everything about Central Europe and Mediterranean region) industrial revolution and then we learn 3 years about the first and second world war. I have almost no knowledge about the History of Britain. Even less the US, especially not in detail. I know that there was a discourse about using the name of a rl historical figure who actually did a lot of harm.

I love how these are stories withing a story within a story XD

There is no clear line between the Fears. I love how this works! Soft magic systems are such an underused concept that can work so, so well!

"I didn’t prepare for – AAH" - Jon getting scared is extremely funny! That little scream xD

NOT!SASHA "Hard to focus." / JON "The place plays odd tricks with your mind. When I saw Sasha down there, for a moment it was like I didn’t recognize her. She seemed… far too tall somehow." - Hmmm, so do the tunnels also affect other Fears? It's well known that it blocks the Eye, but the Not!Them also seemed to have a hard time? On the contrary the Corruption seemed to have had a field trip down there, the worms were faster and quieter in the tunnels, which was better for them to get to they prey.

Hmm the corruption getting stronger down there is an interesting question. What powers get lost in these tunnels and what powers are more potent? Is there consistency in how they are affected?

MAG 181 Relisten

Activity on my first listen: cutting the French tamarisk in my garden.

SALESA: "Hmmm. Interesting…" Interesting indeed. You can clearly hear something that sounds like the tape recorder being picked up and then Salesa’s voice is a bit closer. The official transcript has this in it: [Close mic bumps as the recorder is handled] MIKAELE: (Very close) "Interesting…"

JON: [Uncomfortable] "I…er… We slept. I-I don’t know – H-How long’s it been?" SALESA: "About seventy-one hours, by my clock. How’re you feeling?" Okay, 71 hours are almost 3 days! That sounds super unhealthy, you still sweat a bit during sleep, your body needs water for chemical processes during sleep as well...

SALESA: "Annabelle tells me you work for The Eye." JON: "Well… I-I w-wouldn’t exactly say I-I ‘work for’ it." MARTIN: "Well… I-I-I mean, you say that, but when you stop to think about it, it was literally our employer, Jon, so…" JON: "I-I suppose." Lol, he's right there! Also that "eehhhh" sound Martin makes xD

SALESA: "Hmmmm. Interesting. Did you carry it in? Things shouldn’t be able to manifest in here like that." I mean, Annabelle is literally alive and well in this bubble, so the Web doesn't seem to have problems here.

SALESA: "Very well. In that case, we shall leave it to be. It’s hardly valuable, and it’s probably best not to upset whatever it might be involved with. Besides, I have no secrets to hide." Ehhhh, I found a very good reason to "If you got nothing to hide you have nothing to fear" on Reddit. It's "I need privacy, not because my actions are questionable, but because your judgement and intentions are."

Haha, Martin stammering when Salesa says he reminds him of Leitner XD

SALESA: "It’s an odd situation, but not a complicated one. Shortly after I decided to stay here, she arrived. Wandered in from the chaos out there, and told me she was going to stay with me. I didn’t get this far by pitting myself against The Web, so I welcomed her in." JON: "And…?" SALESA: "And sometimes she cooks." Lol XD Also, I think Salesa is right in this case. He's no match against the Web. So better just go with the flow.

SALESA: "You are, of course, welcome to stay as long as you like." I love Salesa so much!

JON: [Compellingly] "Tell me what happened." SALESA: "No." JON: "I – uh… W-What?" [DEEP CHUCKLES FROM SALESA] SALESA: "The look on your face! Look, he’s so confused!" [MARTIN LAUGHS A BIT TOO] JON: "Martin!" MARTIN: "Sorry. Sorry. Y-You did look kind of funny. It was l-l-l-like you were flunking an exam or something." Aw man, Jon sounds so betrayed, lol! It is super funny, though xD And just an episode ago Jon was delighted about not Knowing anything about this place. So why stop at Knowing?

SALESA: "Yes! Exactly that! Your powers won’t work here, Jonathan Sims, Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute, London." Distributed by Rusty Quill and li- Ahhh... So why does Salesa know Jon's catchphrase? That means at some point he must have heard tapes of him... And knowing he's with the one who set all those tapes up, it's likely it was here at Upton House.

SALESA: "So what’s it like out there? I assume the Archivist must be rather a powerful position, since you seem to be travelling through it pretty freely." JON: "It’s… uh… um…" MARTIN: "Jon?" JON: "Sorry I just, er… Hmm." The Archives inaccessable at the moment xD

SALESA: "I have spent the last decade preparing for this to happen." And we actually have seen this in MAG 45. The antique syringe. Salesa bought it. And after it was gone from the lab, things started happening there. So that syringe was probably to the Corruption what's the camera with the broken lens to the Eye. And I say Eye, because I think the camera only completely blocks out the Eye. And since the whole apocalypse is ruled by the Eye, it creates this safety bubble. Annabelle, who according to her in MAG 197 is only kept alive by the Web, is fine here. And Salesa mentions a "insect thing, a creature of the Crawling Rot" made it here (I'm guessing this means the bubble) later in this episode. Plus, after all, cameras are an Eye thing.

SALESA: "You are right, to a point. I would welcome a return to the real world. Ha! To be the only man to weather the greatest disaster in history of reality utterly unharmed." Already a hint that this is not just a blip nobody will remember. These people are aware of what's happening to them. And without actually turning back time, everyone will still remember what happened to them...

MARTIN: "F-F-For what it’s worth, I’d also quite like to know how this all happened." SALESA: "Fine, I’ll tell you how it happened. But you must sit quietly while I tell you." No one escapes Martin's charm^^

SALESA: "When I say I was one of his assistants, you know exactly the kind of education that would be. Terrifying, fascinating, misguided. The man was a genius and an idiot." Leitner seemed to be pretty reckless when it came to his assistants. Salesa seemed to be super protective of his crew. I wonder if this has a correlation. Salesa seeing how Leitner treats his people and thinking "I'm going to be better!" (It's usually the reaction I have to being mistreated. I don't want to continue this madness.)

SALESA: "To tell you the truth, I got a real kick out of playing my role. To think of myself as a purveyor of curses, walking softly through the most dangerous edges of reality so that the rich and arrogant could buy their own doom." Have I mentioned that I love Salesa? XD

On my first listen when Salesa mentioned the camera, I remembered that one being mentioned before. I just couldn't remember what statement it was xD

SALESA: "One that through some quirk had the ability to hide you from the Powers." Yeah, ah, again, this sounds a bit strange. One could argue it hides you from all Fears and they still can occasionally stumbled upon this by accident... Then why would Annabelle be able to still access the Web, but Jon not the Eye?

SALESA: "It hid me from The Eye, which, in the new order of reality, also protects where I am from the hellscape all around us." Yeah that makes more sense.

I know, there are posts out there about how Jon and Martin should steal the camera and confront Elias with it. And I could imagine this working with the dream logic. The Pupil of the Eye distributes all the Fear. When this collapses, the whole system could cease to work. But the problem about the fix-its is the Web. It would have immediately intervened.

SALESA: "Let us relax, and talk and drink. And not worry about who might be… listening." I love how this sounds like a 4th wall break! And, in a way, it's meant to be like that. We listening to the tapes after they arrived here, I mean.

MARTIN: "Yeah, but if, if you’re that connected, that dependent, what happens if we actually, y’know, do manage to –" JON: "We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, I just need us to be moving on." That hum from Martin after Jon's reply. He is not happy at all about this...

ANNABELLE: "Don’t worry, Martin. We’ll meet again. Hopefully when you’re feeling a little bit more… open-minded." Mhm, it will be exactly like this. There were just a bit more things happening necessary to get Martin to that point.

JON: "I guess so. It’s, er… It’s gone. Like a dream. What was it like?" MARTIN: "… Nice. It was… It was really nice." Can't have shit in the apocalypse!! For both, Jon is robbed of the happy memories and for Martin they turn bittersweet, knowing Jon doesn’t remember anything of it.
