seriously? Closed species? Give me a break. They're nothing but a bunch of Avatar wannabes, lacking any originality whatsoever. It's infuriating to see talented artists wasting their skills on such a dumb and pointless concept. And DON'T even get me started on how they feed off people's consumption addictions and profit from the least original idea imaginable. Ugh, it's enough to make me want to create my own so-called ""illegal"" alien furry just to mock the whole ridiculous closed species trend

the TIMING and the irony of WHEN the notif from your post popped out on my screen while I was watching this video ~

wait when you discover that I also ‘waste my talent’ on drawing kinky NSFW furry commissions to make a living. and all commissioners I had so far - are all wonderful people who respect artist’s hard work.

if you want talented artists to not ‘waste their talent’ on ‘unworthy things’ - you’re absolutely welcomed to support them financially and help them to direct their talents towards their actual dreams and ambitions. for example: my TRUE dream since 2014 is to create an animatic series about my alien OC Isay. you can help me to direct my talent towards this dream by subscribing to my Patreon. if I ever achieve at least 500$ monthly income from Patreon - I will finally be able to focus on my original story releasing instead of frantically seeking one way after another to make a living.

just support your favorite artists financially if you want them to stop ‘wasting their talent’. otherwise, you don’t actually give a single shit about artists. you just want them to provide you a free entertainment medium YOU prefer.

P.S.: Sirises - are my alien original species and a crucial part of that exact story which I’ve been developing since 2014 but never had an opportunity to share a single piece of it due to being too busy while trying to survive. my main OC Isay - is a Siris, a main character of this animatic series in question, and my meaning of life. if I’m as autistic artist with depression, PTSD, ADHD and numerous health issues including one that requires surgery can somehow monetize Sirises in the moment of my life when I have NO OTHER WAY to make a living at all due to being a war refugee in a foreign country - I will monetize them to survive so I be able to move towards my dream.

P.S.S.: art - is a luxury item, not a necessity like food or meds. no one forces people to buy commissions, adopts, MYOs (Sirises by the way have a plenty of free options to obtain but of course you’d never bother to check), action figurines, games, physical music albums etc etc etc. it’s always person’s decision and person’s choice how to manage their earned money. and if this little purchase makes person happier and doesn’t harm anyone, and if I can provide this little piece of joy to someone while also making a living myself - why fucking not? it’s their choice, it’s their business. not yours. not mine either. it’s not my place to validate or invalidate the way other adult people manage their income. my place and my only responsibility - is to make sure that I myself have money to pay my rent and bills, to buy my meds, antidepressants included, and food, to visit a doctor, to prepare to my gallbladder removal surgery, to manage my iron deficiency anemia. to survive. and to fulfill my dream.

Call me a sensitive snowflake or dense twitter dumbass who doesn't understand brilliant tumblr humor, but I am really annoyed that out of all things you could've made up a fake movie about, you choose russian mafia with a fake cover prominently featuring kremlin and other classic cliches. I wish tumblr didn't show me this shit in recommendations.

I am sitting with my family in a basement for two hours already hiding from russian rockets (that killed at least one person already today in Kyiv alone), half of Ukraine is without water or electricity, maybe it's not the place and time to make these light hearted tumblr jokes about russians? Just a thought.

I’m so tired of world glorifying the ‘state’ which has been literally build on deaths and blood of residents of MANY OTHER states which are by the way have much more aesthetics and mystery in their history due to having.. their OWN ancient culture, not the stolen one.

this is LITERALLY the same as when everyone praises and adores the mass rapist and murderer, and the victims who’ve survived his abuse have to witness this absurd every fucking day.

my family tree was entirely DESTROYED by this fucking terrorist state in the 20th century. and yes, ruzz imperia / soviet / ruzzia - IS THE SAME as it has been committing THE SAME ATROCITIES towards the neighbour states by trying to destroy or consume them, ALWAYS. FOR CENTURIES.

I can’t even get to know my ancestors further than my grand-grandparents. both families, mom’s and dad’s, were wealthy and educated, and have been owning their own farms and houses built by their own hands. both were DESTROYED by a fucking soviets just because: ‘u live to good and you praise soviets not enough’, and their children were sent to Siberia in 1940’s (my mother’s mother and her sister when they were just 13 and 10) or almost have starved to death during the man-made famine, ‘Holodomor’ in 1932-33 (my dad’s mom when she was just a kid). my family tree is mutilated. just as MILLIONS of other Ukrainian and neighbour states families who were so unlucky to be located near that fucking terrorist state.

but, nobody cares. everyone wants to praise the terrorist state and ‘mysterious ruzzian soul’ with fucking vodka, balalaika and bears.

I’m so sick of it.

if ppl like so much the ‘Eastern European’ vibe.. why not check literally ANY other Eastern European state which is simply NOT a terrorist state? why damn ruzzia. why I have to fucking witness the glorying of this fucking hellhole EVERY DAY in my TL while being a war refugee BECAUSE of the attack of this hellhole on my country.

I want to vomit. I just want to NOT SEE ANYTHING related to that terrorist state around. but even a thousand kilometres from the front line - I can’t escape it. fucking hell.

At first, I was comfortable with just blocking the tags and content, but I've seen the error of my ways, so here we are.

Folks, I get that it's always fun to mislead people outside of tumblr and yadda yadda

but can you at least take something that doesn't glorify Russian culture and makes it relevant while Russia is literally destroying my country with missiles?

I understand that in the eyes of the many the aesthetics of Russia (especially during the times of the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire) is "cool, dramatic, mysterious"

But that's just a pretty picture. A facade, if I may. Do you know what it's really like?

At this very minute, as I am writing this post, rockets are once again flying over peaceful Ukrainian cities.

A newborn baby was killed by a rocket tonight. In a maternity hospital. That they've struck by a missile. In the middle of the night.

How can you still perceive Russia and its culture as something interesting and worthy of attention?

Why it's always Russia, who takes the spotlight? Why isn't it Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic, Moldova, Romania, Belarus or any other country/nation, whose blood and bones became the foundation of "great russian culture"?

At the beginning, it was fun for me to watch as this unreality thing became popular and gained more attention.

But yesterday we had a story with a major studio, who erased Ukrainian heritage in their promo of the well-know series. And if not for the huge backlash then "Prince Yaroslav the Wise, ruler of Kyivan Rus", would be known to the world as "warrior ruler and king of Northern Russia" (that didn't even exist back then btw) and it would be once again regarded as an achievement of "great russian culture"

And make no mistake - it's not me, taking away a tumblr's new favourite toy.

No, what I'm trying to do is show you, that it can be about just anything but not Russia. Not now. Not ever.

If your alien can both become pregnant and impregnate, then I think hermaphrodite is the correct term for them. Humans are never true hermaphrodites and it is problematic to call a human that, but it's a real thing in some plant and animal species. Intersex means something else. It might help to use the full word instead of shortening it to herm. I dunno, maybe do some research on it, but use your own judgement. I can understand using the term intersex just to avoid drama on here despite the downside of ongoing confusion over what the terms mean.

I should say that I already done a lot of research about this topic back then as I’ve been trying to figure out how to call Isay and their specie in terms of their biological gender features.. and of course I know the difference between terms ‘hermaphrodite’ and ‘intersex’ 😅🙏

I used to call Isay and their specie hermaphrodites as I thought that this is reasonable considering the fact that they are not humans but aliens. But then I’ve met a bunch of opinions about this topic, specifically that the term ‘hermaphrodite’ counts as outdated in general, and a few people suggested me to use ‘intersex’ instead as Isay is still a humanoid being. So since then I prefer to use this term, because I don’t really want to trigger anyone or make a discourse, plus I’m not a biologist or something to have enough arguments and ‘stand’ for a certain term 😅

All I know is when a new people only starting to getting to know my art - they won’t know all the nuances of the Isay’s species etc, so the term ’hermaphrodite’ used for humanoid being might only gross people out 💀💔 And I won't have strength to explain all the details as English is simply not my native language + I’m really not capable mentally to do that as a neurodivergent 💀

At the end of the day, all I want is just to share my niche art 🫶😔💦
