Never did I expect myself to be mourning the absence of english essays and writing exams and theatre class critiques. Do you understand how fucking amazing of a grade I could get on an analysis of trauma in Critical Role? On Lou Wilson and Emily Axford's finesse in portraying the heavy expectations and double standards placed on children? On Ylfa Snorgelsson's relationship to death? On the journey of a man's relationship to violence? On an analysis of grief in Dimension 20? On the pitfalls of youth? On the dynamic between humanity and religion? On the journey of self-discovery and acceptance? On love in all its forms? On the nature of choice? On everything Brennan Lee Mulligan has to say about capitalism? On the tragedy of im/mortality? On Gerard and Elody's divorce? On the unfeeling and aimless happenstance of the universe? On the role of fate and destiny? I'm not saying it would be easy. I'm saying can you imagine how fucking cool it would have been to turn in 5 pages about a dnd show, feeling good about it?

Finally, what’s a plot twist nobody would see coming?

OK OK putting my good omens thoughts under the cut because we're gonna be here a while. strap in.

-Dark timeline where they don't reunite and reconcile is admittedly VERY hard to envision. They've always relied on each other in some capacity whether they like it or not (literally their FIRST INTERACTION before the beginning is Crowley needing Aziraphale's help). I'd imagine Aziraphale would have a LOT to sort out on his own, and it would not be easy at all for him, if even possible given the circumstances. He'd have the whole Second Coming to handle (and also hope he can somehow thwart), all while Heaven is likely watching like a HAWK, all while he wouldn't want to be doing any of it at all. For the first time in thousands of years he'd be truly alone, and I doubt he'd have a plan that would feel reliable. It would be awful. There's only so much a single angel can do. The Book of Life is also a very real threat. Falling is also something he's still worried about. He'd have to get VERY lucky. I doubt he could just sway the Metatron into a different opinion (although I'm sure he'll try). I think he's pretty fucked unless God were to intervene and look out for him.

Not that he'd be satisfied in the end, even if the world was saved and everything was fine. He'd never forgive himself if he didn't reconcile with Crowley by the end of things, I'd imagine.

I also think Crowley would never shake the feeling of something being wrong, even if Aziraphale doesn't reach out to him for help (which... come on. He will. Where else could he go?). He always expected a "big one", he just doesn't know when or where it'll happen, but obviously Heaven would need Aziraphale for SOMETHING. They wanted to erase Gabriel's memories because he refused to do Armageddon 2.0! Do you really think that's gonna stop them? That they won't just try again? Their whole deal is that they're insistent on this. They won't let up. That's not gonna change no matter who's in charge, and he knows it. I can't see Crowley giving up on Earth until it's too late, maybe abandoning ship last second as to avoid his own demise, but it's a question as to what he could piece together on his own, whether or not Hell would still tell him things, etc when it comes to what he'd actually try to achieve. After all, you can't thwart what you don't know the details of. It would be a lost cause. (Personally, I don't see him becoming a Duke of Hell either; it's something I can enjoy in fanworks but I don't see him as the type to take that deal even to 'spite Aziraphale' in canon. Not unless he hoped to get intel? But I think he'd much rather not have them watching him.)

Could either of them thwart the Second Coming on their own or with others besides each other? Very, very unlikely, and it would be a very close call, and probably still entail other sorts of disaster. Could they do it without crossing paths at least once? Also very unlikely. (After all, the entire driving force of S1/the book is how many people come together for Armageddon in attempts to either start or stop it). If they work at this and want to stand a chance they're doomed to reunite, and therefore, doomed to reconcile. They would quite literally have to be exterminated or wiped out of the Book of Life in order to never reunite (and I just don't think this is that kind of story). Make of this what you will.

(I also can't see them just being able to go back to before their feelings were revealed to each other, either. There's no pretending it isn't there, anymore. Crowley said as much. No more hiding. I don't think this doomed their relationship going forward, even if it may take a while to fully smooth things over.)

TL;DR They'd fight like hell for Earth, probably wouldn't be able to succeed without the other, probably die trying anyways and with many regrets regarding each other. Best case scenario God personally intervenes out of the blue and mercifully decides to thwart Heaven's own plan but they both still spend the rest of eternity thinking of what could've been. They'd hate it. They'd miss each other SO BAD and would (fail to) pretend they didn't.

-Pure South Downs fluff would be such tonal whiplash lmao and would also feel kinda unearned? I think fluffier moments shine brightest when the characters have had to work for it a little and Aziraphale/Crowley still have a LOT of problems that need to be sorted in order to be able to be happy together. (Also it's just... not gonna happen. You can't tease the Second Coming and then skip past it to an "everything's fine" future.) The entire point of S3 for me is we KNOW where they'll end up- we want to see HOW. It's not a story without stakes and consequences and a bit of risk, at least when it comes to Good Omens. That isn't to say that they need to be tortured or whatever in S3 to feel earned, but we need to see a lot of things get wrapped up (Second Coming, Aziraphale needs Heaven to leave him alone + needs to be able to work through his complicated feelings regarding it, Crowley needs for Hell to stop calling on him, they need to be able to safely communicate what they want, they need to talk about the kiss, etc). We want to see these!! We can't get these without a bit of hurt. I wanna see them break free more than I want pure fluff. That's just me though.

(With that being said, I hope that at least they get a BIT of time next season to just... be together. Happily. And do some of the things they couldn't before. And by a 'bit of time' I mean 'I sure do hope it's more than like 2 minutes before the credits roll but I will take literally anything I can get at this point'. There's potential here!!! So much of it!!! And they deserve it!!! It's just not the show's tone for it to take up that much time. I'd miss the chaos too much I think, and I'd miss the catharsis of seeing a character finally getting what they want in real time. Just a BIT of fluff at the end though, all I ask. This could insta-kill me.)

TL;DR Bit too much!!! I want them to bicker!!! In a way that's framed comically!!! This is a comedy show!!! And I want to watch them get through hard times!!! I just also want them to make out afterwards and also save the world and stuff. Then I'll be satisfied.

-Honestly I haven't thought much about possible plot twists in S3? I take the Final Fifteen pretty "straightforward" (I don't think the coffee is spiked, I don't think they stopped time, I don't think they body swapped, I don't think the Metatron will be "secretly good", etc) so I don't think there's really enough to go off of at the moment for me when it comes to the plot itself, let alone plot twists for it. I will say though if God is in S3 I will lose my shit; I have a feeling She wouldn't be "caring" but not 100% pure dark evil either if we DO see Her. I don't think She won't be what most fans expect. (Of course, that's just in the hypothetical that She appears. Who knows?)

I'm curious to know about Tito! What's he all about?

Hey, thanks for the ask! Tito is my longest-running player character in Dungeons & Dragons. ♥ He's a red Tiefling cleric of the nature domain, worships Pan (god of wine, mountains, goats and hedonistic parties), is the tallest member of the party (6'5"), started out as an orphaned street urchin with only a white mouse for a friend (Egg the mouse, who has bizarrely long life, still accompanies him...), and gloms onto the party members as a found family fast. Oh, and he's got 3 levels in the bard class, too.

This guy has such high charisma that he can talk his way through some ridiculous scenarios. One of his favorite ongoing jokes is to convince people they can't see straight, asking "How drunk are you? Next thing you'll be telling me I'm a Tiefling!"

Tito loves nature and wine and dancing. He's worn flower crowns during the campaign multiple times. He almost always has wine on him, and considers wine, dancing, and sex as forms of worship to Pan. He's the party member who talks a lot, and tends to want to know the names of all of the NPCs (and remembers 'em later!)

Tito is also pansexual (see what I did there?), and on his adventures he's met and fallen heads over heels in love with a gothic Drow bard named Som. You'd think it was an opposites attract situation based on appearances, but Som is actually very cheerful, just about subjects like death and murder-laced poetry. Also actual lace.

I've been playing Tito for over three years, and he's been so much fun. I aim to have him propose to Som before they go off to their final battle of the campaign against an invading army of demons from another plane. "I want to be with you for the rest of our lives, even if that's just 'til tomorrow when we go to our deaths side by side" sounds like the kind of sentiment Som might appreciate. ♥

the dsmp didn’t have healing arcs. and they didn’t need to. “Fans were begging them to give characters healing arcs” it’s not the fans’ story. you had in your mind that the dsmp was about hurt people who were going to get better but it was actually a story about hurt people hurting people and continuing the cycle of violence until one person was able to stop it. If you took ctommy jumping off a pole in minecraft to be a message of “hurt people should commit suicide” then idk what to tell you man. Find a different story bc the ccs never promised healing arcs. Quackity ended his arc with no healing. Wilbur didn’t have a healing, he just left the narrative so he could heal. But Tommy’s finale is the one ur mad at bc you thought the story was about a single victim and a single abuser or bad guy. “I don’t like this ending” and “this ending is bad” are two different things.

hi firstly oh my gosh you're literally so sweet i am gently shaking you i love you so much /p. secondly, i apologize for the long answer! (it's all under the cut. this got away from me. i'm so sorry apparently i have a lot to say.) (also you're so good about the questions i would constantly be asking one of my professors questions during class to the point where she said i didn't have to go "i have a question" every time i approached her)

i've been editing since 2016! around march/april, i think? loved it so much i went into film & video production in college as a major so i could do editing for a living. (i have done more motion graphics for my classmates than i have done edits outside of class assignments, BUT!)

the program i use is after effects - i started learning it when covid first hit the united states because i had nothing better to do with my time (other than music theory but i failed that bc my professor focused more on the history aspects than the actual theory soooo) and my ipad kept giving me the "no more storage" whenever i tried to use videostar lmao. (vs has, apparently, gotten a LOT of good updates, so if you're looking to start editing and have an ios system, i'd look into it! only downside is you have to pay for some of the cool stuff).

also the program i use for masking (i think i explain this later dwdw) is superimpose. i've been using it since 2014 and it's SO nice bc i can use my fingers to erase backgrounds & stuff instead of hoping i can get it to work correctly in ae or photoshop (photoshop my DETESTED i'll use it but i'll complain the entire time).

for people who want to start editing: tutorials on how your program works and how to do specific transitions are gonna be your best friend when you're first figuring things out! i forced a friend to literally walk me through how after effects worked when i was first figuring it out, and when i had swapped to videostar back in 2017/2018(?) i had watched a Lot of tutorials. that and played around a lot and figured things out on my own - which is also always a good way to start!! it's also totally valid to look at other people's edits for inspiration - most editors don't really care, as long as you don't flat-out remake their edit (some people don't like that!). i have a style insp folder on instagram where i save edits that i like so if i need transition ideas or i'm doing a different style, i can look there for inspiration. at the end of the day, as long as you're having fun with it that's all that matters!

also, starting simple is always okay!! my edits for a year were just me slapping gifs & video segments together on a timeline in cute cut pro bc imovie didn't load them lol & it'd crash every time i breathed. ++ it never hurts to ask people for feedback/constructive(!!!) criticism/etc! (also not to sound like everyone else but practice? good. it's so good. if i showed my 14/15y/o self some of the edits i can make now they would've passed out on the spot bc i was still trying to figure out transitions back then. programs can also sometimes make a difference in edits, but usually it's not super noticeable until you start getting to the Complicated Shit.)

a lot of popular programs i've seen are ones like video star (ios only), alight motion (android only), after effects (i recommend 🏴‍☠️ing it tbh, i only use it legally bc i had to use adobe programs for school), capcut, and i think some people still use sony vegas pro & maybe cute cut pro (i've heard it may have actually gotten better since i last used it in 2018)? i have no idea. programs also depend on whatever device you're using to edit on! since i've been using my laptop, i'm able to use after effects (it's computer-only), but when i used my phone/ipad to edit i used ccp & vs.

for the animation - it's a lot of cutting up the image and masking! more complex animations, like the one i had of leo walking down that red 'hallway' have several different layers that have been masked. (i removed the background & filled in the spot where leo originally was in two different apps - superimpose (taking leo out) & photoshop (filling in the bg)) in after effects, the way i've done this was mask out the specific thing i wanted to move (like an eye) and then put that mask on what i've called a "base" (not animated), and then stick a solid behind the base to match the color of the object. (some of my layers are not named appropriately; base 2 is the left arm & the four "SIX_[...]" layers are the mask/bandana tails)

an example of this would be for any of the eye blink animations i did! this (above) is the same shot, with and without the eye - since it's masked out and i have the background solid behind it, it doesn't look too unnatural/have a black outline/mass where his eye should be.

this is what my timeline looks like if it's a more simplistic animation - the only five things being animated here are leo & raph's eyes. (there's only this many layers bc it's two characters in one shot & i was also animating their pupils - typically, an eye-blink animation is about 4-6 layers for me (solid, base, mask, & null to animate with, 6 if i'm animating both eyes & 4 if just one))

in after effects, there's this really cool tool called the puppet pin that one of my friends (lovingly) yelled at me for not knowing about - which. yeah fair she wasn't wrong it's SUPER useful in animating, provided you chop up your image first. if you don't it's a mess.

(separated by layer vs i should've really put the mask tails & leo's head on separate layers and didn't bc that was the 2nd to last animation i had to do and i was losing my mind bc i wanted to be done with the edit lmao)

the way people animate depends all on their style (there's two common ways to do blinking animation - having the anchor point at the bottom of the eye, or the middle of it) and the program they use. it's been a while, but i could probably tell you how to do some basic animations on videostar still even though i've been doing them in after effects for about 2-3years now. ALSO the best way to have an animation be noticeable is to over-exaggerate it/make them Big - which, yes, can mean 'breaking bones' and having the limbs be a little wonky at the start. (if you want it to be realistic though go Just to the point where it looks uncomfortable lmao)

BITTER ENDINGS. I hate it with a passion! Smut is meant to make you feel good, and people's emotions can be precariously fragile in the aftermath. Why would you hurt someone like this??

But also, in the same vein as #63, I love endings where the characters (if it's not already an established relationship) affirm that they seriously like each other or that they want to have sex again. That assurance really puts me at ease; it's sort of like a "happily ever after" for smut

Not for the E-rated ones, I think, because with those I was pretty happy with only establishing as much detail as I needed/wanted before getting into the porn. But for Their fragrance came from you, definitely! Here are a few:

Originally, Cal and Jaro Tapal were going to be in the courtroom to testify for Anakin's trial. This just sort of got cut because the courtroom scene was already a mess and I decided it didn't add much

Komari was going to be the one to reveal to the readers that Obi-Wan was an omega, instead of Feemor, and it was not going to be nearly as heartfelt! I changed it when I got to that chapter because I had added the fight scene between Komari and Obi-Wan, and it no longer made sense for them to be interacting there. It looked a little like this: “I’m just looking after you, dumbass.” Her brows draw together. “…you’ll be all by yourself over there.” “Again, Komari, I’m not—” “Obi-Wan, I’m not worried about him stabbing you through the gut,” she says sharply. “I’m worried about him finding out that you’re an omega.”

There was also originally a bit during the scene where Obi-Wan and Anakin paint divay in the square where Anakin gets pulled away to tell some kids about "The Tale of Two Suns". We're meant to hear the name of this fable in passing now (and maybe a cultural tidbit or two) and then get the actual text of the fable later in the fic. But that scene was so hard to put together that I couldn't make it fit... I'm trying to introduce the tale of two suns in a different place now, hopefully it works!

Thoughts on Mr. Joestar. Many. Tbh I feel like the Joseph I use in find has kind of derived from the canon Joseph a bit but um. Go himbo go!

He has one(1) braincell and it only activates when his adrenaline kicks in. Said single braincell either creates the best plan known to man or some very, very stupid prank. Doesn't run away from anything, unless running away is a part of the Plan™

Looks intimidating at first until you get to know him. Actually super chill... ok, not chill, more like, an absolute trickster. The kind of person who's hard to hate (even if you're a god knows how old pillarman)

Love his chaotic yet soft energy and would also punch him in the face. And also also give him a blanket and a hot chocolate. He probably hides negative emotions under a facade.

Also I think abt his family situation and how he probably feels the need to fill in the shoes of his grandpa Jonathan so instead he tries his best to do everything opposite of him... but still has that Joestar spark that, in the end, makes him more similar to his oldman then he realises. And, despite the tough guy facade, he tends to emphasise with the enemy and just hates the concept of death in general.

Probably got his cunning from his mother and his heart from his father. Also, his love of detective content like Sherlock Holmes probably came from his father, Jorge, and his adventures as a detective for a while. Probably can also get quite shy over certain topics, much like Jorge, but it's rare. Again, Joseph doesn't realise any of this.

He ends up in most of my fics because he's just a fun character to have in a story, even if he's not the main character. Shares similar energy to Sonic. I have way, WAY too many AU versions of Joseph (to the point of having a chart that is all over the place)

I have a lot more to say but I think he. A lot.

What is your opinion on Return to Wherever

Opinion on Return to Wherever? I've got opinions for sure. I'll try to keep it short.

Solid album. I'd recommend it as a good first for new listeners. Definitely one of my top favourite albums of TWRP's

I also feel like Return to Wherever was a turning point for TWRP's sound overall. It feels much brighter in comparison to earlier works. Of course they started the change back with Ladyworld and continued it in Together Through Time, but for me they really solidified that new feeling they were putting into their music. Note: I believe Doctor Sung mentioned on stream that RtW was written around the time they relocated to Los Angeles, and it had an effect on their music writing at the time. I'll try to check the vods to cite this, because I don't want to say that he said something without source (thats a lot of hour to go through, so it may be a while, but I did check the years they announced they were moving and it does match up)

I'd also like to talk about the cover art.

Lazerhorse definitely does a good job at emulating styles from the different artists he takes inspiration from, and Hiroshi Nagai is no exception. The beach is lovely, the clouds are fluffy, and the horizon calls back to Ladyworld with those otherworldly crystals. Then there is the rendering style of the boys themselves. It reminds me of that one retro airline poster that Daft Punk used.

Theres also the name stripe that holds the album name, band name, and track list. Its the perfect shade of pink and no one can tell me otherwise. It goes very well with the blue used for the sky and water, and was a good choice to make the text stand out from the artwork. Also, the vinyl release with the pink and blue colouration to match was a great choice as well.

tldr: good album.

okay so i'm sure that someone has pointed this out already, but i couldn't see anyone talking about it and i need it said so i figured i would make a post.

i was rewatching 7x13, and in ozpin's monolgue about fear at the end, he says 'Fear itself isn't worthy of concern, it is who we become while in it's clutches. Will you be proud of that person? Will you forgive them? Will you understand why they felt the need to do the things they did?' during the italicized part the scene cuts to show cinder. and then we see cinder's backstory like 6 episodes later?!!!
