when it comes to you, tsukishima finds himself being protective of you without even trying.

he hears your worries about the same friend for maybe the hundredth time, about how they got mad at you for something incredibly harmless and for you being you. he rolls his eyes at your friend's overbearing insecurity and their lack of taste in people as he seemingly reads his book. he had suggested you find a better friend, but you insist they make you happy. he scoffs at that. he himself already makes you happy, why would you need someone else who can't even give you half the joy he does? he doesn't say that though, instead he insists in turn that he comes along with you the next time you two meet. he can already imagine yamaguchi surprised at him for volunteering to go to a social gathering.

"you won't scare them off?" you make him promise and as much as he wants to make them feel sorry for ever hurting you, he sighs and promises. on that day, he stands right behind you, keeping an eye out for every single interaction you have with your friend. you introduce kei, and his looming expression doesn't change. he sees their uncomfortable smile and avoiding of his gaze, and couldn't help but smirk. you nudge him with your elbow, and tsukishima ruffles your hair. "don't worry, pipsqueak." he says, keeping his voice low.

tsukishima isn't a fan of any sort of pda, but throughout the entire time, he makes sure to have some sort of physical contact with you. it could be an arm around your shoulders, or just rubbing soothing circles on the back of your hand. the last thing he wants is you feeling anxious about your friend, despite you assuring him you were perfectly ok. you know his well intentions, and at the end of the day when your friend has left, you treat him to strawberry shortcake.

"what's this?" he asks as he digs his fork into the cake. you intertwined your fingers with his free hand.

"just for you being, well, you." you grin and he melts like he always do when you smile at him. he gives you the first bite.

"you're gonna be the death of me, love."

best friend!gojo who acts super cool and nonchalant when you’re around others, but his stomach forms knots of nervousness on the inside, when he’s just around you.

“what are you doing?” your say, your voice merely above a whisper as you feel your head being turned to face your best friend, distracting your attention from the movie being played.

gojo pauses, and you can practically hear him gulp as his fingers still, holding your chin. but his internal voice (which is actually the voice of geto) tells him to just do it, and he does. he pulls you into a kiss that is so soft and slow you practically crumble in his hold, you didn’t know what spurred his actions but you knew that they felt right.

as you finally pull away from each other your lips plump, your breath laboured, he smiles. “I’ve been wanting to do that for the longest time”

a moment of solitude

Thinking about a scenario where Mc was just casually scanning the outside of cocytus hall when a cat suddenly popped out from the bushes. They tried luring it inside the hall, y'know for some company and entertainment while Solomon is out doing his business, using some leftover tuna and toys.

Mission complete. It's inside the hall now. Sniffing and examining the corners of the rooms. But not even a few minutes, it acts like it owns the place, knocking over vases and scratching the sofa. When Solomon came home, he was delighted by the sight of the new furry visitor.

"Ah, what's this little guy doing here?" He gently lifted the feline in the air.

"I found him in the yard. Can we keep him?" Mc pleaded.

He brought the cat to his face and rubbed it against his belly, "I don't mind. I was just thinking of how lonely you can get when I'm out and you have the whole place to yourself."

Mc giggled. Amused by how Solomon carries the cat with his arms like a baby and playing with it using a cat toy he conjured out of thin air.

"...You know, this kinda makes us feel like a complete family. There's you, me, and a cat," they point at the two.

He stopped for a moment and looked at Mc in the eye. There's a hint of fascination and delight in his eyes when they mentioned the word 'family'.

"...I like the sound of that."

it's not just that the claim that there are no civilians in a given group of people is obviously dehumanizing, but that the fact that people see any utility in that claim carries the implications that 1) it doesn't suck when soldiers/people actively and willingly participating in violence die (it always will cause pain when people die, even if you could designate them as being "bad people") and that 2) violence against people who are "legitimately" innocent civilians couldn't itself ever serve a positive political purpose (i thought we were in favor of violence as a means of liberation when necessary). i do not see a point in constructing these categories of people other than trying to avoid any potential negative emotions you are likely feeling. this all sucks, there's no way around that.

been thinking about event horizon again. made a character vaguely inspired by it. they are unnamed but they are very epic and have prosthetic wings and are a cyborg and drop from high places.

continuing the outline for thralls, and holy shit does it get intense, emotionally. I don't think I ever got teary-eyed while outlining, but I very much did here (and because of romance??? what is going on???), and... Like, I think that besides two subplots that are still pretty vague in my head right now, it is starting to look very strong, but. I'm still very much on the fence about whether this is a story worth telling, especially now, and especially by me.

don't get me wrong, I think it's a good story. but I'm not sure that's good enough of a reason to bring it to screens.
