Indiana Jones NSFW Alphabet
18+ MDI
Tumblr media
Teehee, content for my POOKIE. God, I love him, I'm feral, a horny monster, I have thots.
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Indy is alright at aftercare, but it really depends on the setting you've been in. A slow, romantic night home from a life threatening excursion for an ancient relic? He's taking care of you, treasuring you. He wants to make sure he takes his time with you, so you know how important you are to him. If it's a quickie in the heat of the moment because you might never get another chance to ever fuck again? Forget it, you're getting a soft kiss on the forehead, he's pulling your pants back up for you, and you're back to running for your life. Mess and all, you get enough attention to know he loves you but he's not stopping long enough to be all lovey dovey.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
I genuinely think his favorite is his brain, he thinks he's so smart, and it makes him all smug and arrogant half the time. Which isn't untrue, he's very smart, but God does it make him insufferable sometimes.
That being said, he loves curves, feeling your waist tuck in and holding your hips, feeling your ass. It's hard to pick a singular feature, but he appreciates your figure.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
He loves to hit it from the back and cum all over your ass. He loves seeing it run down off your cheeks and down the back of your thighs. It makes him feral.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
He told you the door to his classroom was locked, he really thought it was locked, and in the end it wasn't. It's a simple dirty secret, it added to the moment after. He had you bent over his desk, your backs to the door, and anyone could've walked in. He'd never tell you, he hates being wrong, but the thrill of being caught added to his experience.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Good lord, he's so sickeningly skilled, it's just unfair. He's so well versed, it's almost embarrassing because he's so much more experienced than you. He knows exactly what to do to leave you a crumbling, drooling mess and absolutely relishes in this fact.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Cowgirl, or missionary, but your legs are on his shoulders and he's folding you in half. He loves cowgirl when he's sore and battered from an adventure and he wants to be taken care of. He wants you to set the pace, he wants to hold your hips. He'll sit up and nuzzle your tits, sighing against them. His scruff drives you crazy and he loves how it combined with his warm breath makes you clench around him. If he's feeling himself and he's really wanting a good time, he's nearly pinning your thighs to your chest, just absolutely wrecking your pussy. The man bruises your cervix almost everytime in the most delicious, mind blowing way. You'll feel him for days after and it makes you just want it all over again.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
He can be a total goober. If he's had a few drinks and you're home and he gets frisky, he's using bad lines to get you in bed and he's giggling and flushed. He's happy, he's safe, he's in love. So rarely does he feel this comfortable and content in his life, he can't help but feel giddy.
That being said, he's usually very down to business with sex. He wants to make love or fuck and he wants to do it right. Which requires his full attention if you both want to get off.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Trimmed enough to be polite. Sometimes a bit too hairy when he gets back from being gone, but will return to his grooming habits promptly if you prefer it.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Wildly intimate. I'm talking eye contact, soft praises, slow and deep thrusts. He wants to feel and chart everything to memory. How tight you are, how you flutter around him when he places open mouth kisses just under your ear. He loves it all. He wants you to feel absolutely loved. He might be a smart ass but that doesn't mean he isn't one to slack in the romance department.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
If he's desperate and you're not around, other than that he doesn't really ever jerk it. He's usually always with you and you two are always down to be horny monsters wherever you can be.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Call him sir or professor and see how fast he's making you moan in the nearest dark closet at the college.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
In no particular order; outside in some jungle with you pressed against a tree, his office at the college with your legs spread on the desk, an old temple, palace, ancient ruins.. he's the first person there in hundreds, maybe thousands of years, and he's probably the first to cum there.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Flirty banter, subtle touches, neck kisses. Bite his ear. He's a sensitive man, just breathe a certain way and he wants you mewling under him.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
He's not super into anything extremely taboo or rough, he likes rough sex but he's not into inflicting pain or anything.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Prefers to receive, loves to cum down your throat, holding your head steady and close while you gag around him. Is extremely skilled at giving though and will never, ever hesitate to go down on you.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
The man is fast and rough and hard, he knocks the air out of you. But that's not to say it isn't sensual. He's very strong, very skilled, he's not clumsy. He's not sloppy, unless he's drunk and you're both in a fever trying to get each other naked. He'll bend you over the nearest surface, rutting into you until sweat drips down him. His grip on your hips is harsh, but his thumb traces soft circles against your skin. He's relentless but he leans over you, kissing your neck, whispering soft praises against your skin.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
He's a quickie master. Fucks in-between classes, lectures, and running for your lives. There's really never a time he'd say no to you. He'll pin your back against the wall, holding your thighs tight around his waist while he fucks you desperately. Your mouth silenced by his, as you moan into the kiss. "Sweetheart, your pretty little noises are gunna get us caught." He'd whisper into your skin, punctuating each word with a hard thrust, just to make you suffer and try to keep quiet.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Let's be real, it's Indy. He's always taking risks. Quick fucks after surviving some traps in a tomb to celebratory sex, some idol found and he wants his other reward, you. And that's just on his adventures. He'd fuck you in cars, in his office, in his classroom, the library? Pinned up against the bookshelves, trying to be slow and gentle but it drives you both crazy, anything other than that and you'd get caught. Can't have that.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Safely say two rounds, maybe three if you're lucky. But he lasts a while, almost too long, he's a master at edging, both himself and you. He won't come unless it's the perfect moment and he won't come first.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Probably not tbh.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
He's 100% the biggest tease on the face of the planet. Little touches he knows drive you crazy while you're in public. Fuck, he'll finger you while you're at the bar ordering drinks in some foreign country where no one knows you, and once you're completely hot and bothered and basically dripping wet for him, he'll ignore you until his drink is finished. Just soft glances out of the corner of his eye while you wiggle and squirm and beg for even a modicum of his attention.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Oh, he's fucking PRIMAL. When he can be vocal, he's swearing, grunting through gritted teeth, making these whiny little moans when you're on top. A bit of a shout with his head thrown back as he cums when he's fucking you. He's a vocal man.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Kisses like a man starved. Open mouth kisses everywhere, his hands gripping you close. He kisses like every one is his last with you, because to be fair, it very well could be. His tongue against yours, against your throat, teeth against your soft skin. Forget it. He can ruin you with his kisses alone.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
8", cut, girthy enough to make you stretch delightfully, thick vein on the top that you love to trace to tease him, which gets him all huffy and puffy.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Stupid high. He wants to fuck to wake up and he wants to fuck to go to bed and maybe have a quickie for brunch.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Depending on the setting and time, he could be chipper after. If it's a desperate "I almost lost you, this, us" type fuck, he's almost asleep before he pulls out. He's dozing while still inside of you, all snuggled into your neck, his arms wrapped around you. (He loves that the most, he won't say that but he doesn't have to, you know your Indy)

Love your blog!
Can I request a female hunter reader where she’s looks frightening and intimidating to the survivors but she’s actually very gentle and doesn’t like to hurt them , she doesn’t talk much. She’s very curious of them and finds them very cute, due to that she doesn’t strike them down during the matches she just catches them in her arms and places them gently on the chairs, while camping she likes to examine them closer, for the female survivors she looks at their makeup and plays with their outfits while for the male survivors she likes to boop their nose and play with their hair while giggling. And *cough* *cough* when carrying the male survivors to the chairs she sneakily purposely presses them closer to her *cough* mellonsssss just to tease and see their reaction (she’s a bit of a flirt)
Wasnt sure how to write this but hope you like it.
I based this off a indie game i played lol
Tumblr media
It no secret among the out "gods" of your curiosity towards humans. Hastur claims they are all selfish and greedy creatures, and Cthulhu can claim the same. You, a creature formed by Azathoth, you have seen many of your Creator realms and have decided to study the reality of this world. Nightingale allowed you to see the manor, her domain as long as you respect her rules.
Though she knows a young deity like you will have no want to hunt nor kill humans, she still asks for you to partake in her games.
The last human you where with, in another reality, was detective who was solving a case about the both the death of his father and cult. His mind was amazing to lurk in, and his life exciting to shadow behind. Sadly, he died after solving the case in order to seal a portal going to allow Cthulhu to enter (know him he would have destroyed that realm for disturbing him).
The ones called 'survivors', are fascinating! None, or few, are good people. Most are mentally broken, easy to toy with; others seem to be trying to fight for future only this 'prize' can provide.
When you caught the survivor known as 'perfumer', you felt pity for her but level of shame for the woman. To kill one's kin out of jealousy is an age old tale you are aware. You then found another named 'lawyer' who you are disgusted by. His greed and selfish caused the death and abandonment of a father and a daughter.
You are quite gentle with these humans compared to those like Night Watch or The Ripper, those too seem to feed on the fear of the humans being hunted. The one hunter you enjoy the space of is 'Geisha' or Michiko as she informed you. She does not get a thrill from killing others but she cannot help herself.
You do like this one survivor, he reminds you of your detective. Orpheus, you believe his name is. The meaning behind the name is not lost to you, it even adds to the charm. Hm, no there are others you like too. Priestess and Seer, for they seem to be the only ones to know you are no normal or limited hunter like the others. You do not kill for thrills, you chair them as per the rules. The conversations with them is quite amusing. Enchantress too, though she did attempt to stab you when she thought you a threat. Another you enjoy studying is 'Prisoner' his mind is mess but it holds many, many treasures of inventions.
Oh, it so hard to claim a favorite! You love to hold them close to your chest to feel their life close to your unreal one. Flesh and blood, a heartbeat, they are alive! Though you have been told but both Embalmer and Grave Keeper not to hold them in such an improper manner-- Though you do not like using the balloons to hold them up in the air, it seems rather silly.

Kissing Indiana Jones Would Include:

Title: Kissing Indiana Jones Would Include:
Indiana Jones X GN Reader
Additional Characters: N/A
Requested by @doctoriletyougotogalaxy!
WC: 867
Warnings: Slight suggestiveness, kissing?, Indy is a simp really, and fluff
Indy loves kissing you.
He had the moment he first laid his lips on yours at the end of your third date on the porch of your home.
He loved every minute of it.
The way your hands were in his hair, the smile on your face as you leaned into him and kissed his cheek softly after pulling away, like it was the most natural thing in the world… He would always be grateful that he had the chance to kiss you.
When he does kiss you, he cherishes it, like the most precious gift he could ever receive. He thinks about how soft your lips are, like cotton candy, just waiting for him to take a bite. His fingers trace the curves of your face, memorizing every single one of them. He has memorized them already, but there is always something new.
He loves the feel of your arms wrapped around his shoulders and pulling him closer. He loves the warmth of your body against his, especially when your legs wrap around his waist as if it's a common occurrence. You’re so warm.
On other occasions, he'd be eager, hungrily, desperately, wanting to taste your mouth again and again and again. He’d want to devour you whole and never stop.
But right now, he just wants to stay where he is, pressed up against you, holding your hand and kissing you senselessly. You back against the wall, his hat tossed somewhere, landing on the floor, with the two of you still in each other’s arms, clinging to each other as if your life depended on it.
He presses his lips to your forehead, your cheeks, your jaw, then down your neck and collarbone. Your fingers dig into his back, nails scratching at his skin, marking a promise to a long night ahead of them.
Right now, he just wants to hold you forever.
To take you in his arms, and kiss you until you can’t breathe anymore. To make you forget everything except him and how much he loves you. To tell you all the things he hasn’t been able to say, all the things that have been weighing heavily on his heart since the day he met you.
He doesn’t know why the feeling is so overwhelming, but it is. It’s like something inside him has been crying out to see you again. To kiss you again. He feels like he has waited centuries for this, and maybe he has.
But in the end, kissing you, he feels weightless, like nothing matters anymore except the taste of your lips, your skin against his, your arms around his neck. Like no one else in the universe matters more than you.
That’s all he needs to know. Because no matter what happens, he knows that he will always come home to you after his adventures. You'll always be here for him. You'll always love him.
And that's enough.
You're his true treasure, the one he had always been searching for. The one that he finally found in his dreams, and in reality.
You loved kissing Indy.
It was like you died and went to heaven every time.
Your lips were soft and tasted like strawberries, and they moved perfectly against Indy's lips.
You craved his touch because Indy’s lips were softer than silk and made you dizzy. You wanted to run your hands through his hair, pull him closer, feel his strong muscles against yours, and hold him tight.
His hair was soft under your fingertips, silky smooth, and he smelled like cinnamon and vanilla from whatever shampoo he used.
He was so close to you, you could feel the steady beat of his heartbeat, which you felt against your chest. Every kiss sent chills running down your spine and made you giddy like you were drunk.
You didn't want to pull away, but you had to breathe; you needed air, and you couldn’t keep kissing him like this forever.
Indy pulled away reluctantly, but only slightly, his breath fanning over your face.
Then he looked at you with those gorgeous green eyes, and asked, “Can I ask you something?”
You giggled, “Sure, Indy.”
“Can I kiss you again?”
You sighed happily, “I’d love that.” Then you smiled, because the answer really wasn’t that hard, “You can, Indy. As many times as you want.” As Indy leaned forward, you pressed your pointer finger to his lips, pausing him. "But, only if I can do the same." You whispered.
Indy's face broke into a mischievous smirk, which seemed to stretch across half of his face, lighting up his entire being. He nodded eagerly and pressed his lips to yours in one swift motion.
You closed your eyes and melted into his embrace.
His hand stroked your hair gently, cupping the back of your neck, the other held your waist lightly, as if afraid that if he squeezed too tightly, you'd disappear into thin air.
And when he finally pulled away, his eyes locked on yours, a deep, contented sigh escaping his parted lips. He rested his forehead against yours, closing his eyes. “I love you."
You closed your own eyes, a content smile on your face, "I know."

Listen......if Desmond was in Edward Kenway's time. What if he accidentally became the king of Pirates. Like he became sailor get some currency cos dollar bills won't work and the ship he work in was attacked and captain just aborted and abandoned the ship so Desmond just used his bleed effecting and defeated the attackers but he's like the captain is gone fuck I can't go back and just sailed to find treasure chests (using eagle vision maybe) and made a reputation that reach Edward, Black beard, James and the pirate gang , the templars and assassins ears
I had to check if King of the Pirates was an actual thing and the closest I could find that wasn’t One Piece related was Henry Avery and I’m more familiar with him because of Uncharted 4 so I'm gonna borrow Uncharted 4's personality for Avery in this one.
So let’s say Desmond Miles got kicked into Black Flag timeline and he became a crew member of a certain pirate out of necessity because he just can’t seem to find any Assassins in this timeline.
The captain of the ship he’s on was good to him. Didn’t ask any questions and seemed okay with just Desmond doing whatever he wanted as long as he gets the work done. But Desmond starts to butt heads when the captain starts to get too greedy. Too brutal.
They started hitting on merchant ships, killing innocent sailors.
Of course, the captain starts to laugh, reminding Desmond that they were pirates.
This is what they do.
And Desmond realizes that he had been blind to the captain’s ruthlessness because of the kindness he showed.
The captain wasn’t kind for the sake of being kind. He was kind because he knew that would make Desmond trust him.
So Desmond did what he was trained to do.
He assassinates the captain.
And he gives the crew two options. Either they help him sail the ship to the nearest port and they all leave or they try and take down Desmond right here and now.
Of course, these are pirates and they stayed with their captain for a reason. Most of them attacked Desmond and it was only because of the knowledge he got from his Bleed that he even managed to take them all down. It’s a bloodbath, that’s for sure.
And, in the end, Desmond remains in the bloody ship with perhaps two or three crew members who didn’t attack him. Not enough to man the ship, of course, but…
They were transporting prisoners from the last ship they hit.
So Desmond makes a deal with them, help him sail the ship then they’re free to go.
It’s a tense voyage, of course. People not trusting each other. Desmond had to fight off three or four assassination attempts made by desperate people who weren’t really trying to kill him not out of greed but out of fear.
And when they finally reached the nearest port that wouldn’t just bombard them with cannon balls and other projectiles, Desmond gives each person the same amount of gold from the captain’s coffers and then left.
Or… tried to anyway.
When he was in the tavern, eating the first hot meal he’d had in months, some of the sailors and the remaining crew members came to his table.
Desmond was confused, of course, until the men spoke.
They were all wanted men now.
No one would believe them if they say that they were just let go by some strange man in a hood (“I’m not strange… am I?”).
They had nowhere else to go.
And now it was Desmond’s problem.
Desmond just wanted to find the freaking Assassins and maybe the reason why he’s in this time period for some reason.
But there is a sense of responsibility banging into his heart right now.
Seeing the downtrodden looks of every man at the table…
Desmond sighs and agrees to be their captain.
“But, if I’m going to be your captain, there’s gonna be some rules!”
“Whatever you say, cap’n.”
“And… the ship needs a makeover.”
“A what now?”
And that is how the legendary pirate king Henry Avery disappeared…
And Captain Desmond Miles of the Bad Weather (name subject to change) started roaming the seas as the strangest nicest pirate in the West Indies (who just so happens to have a knack for finding sunken and buried treasures)

He's here!!!!
Shovel Knight nendoroid is so teeny and cute, but that's just redundancy talking - SK's always been teeny and cute.
Shovel Knight comes with the usual extra pair of hands and legs, though for the life of me, I could not figure out how to attach the ones that have the thin pegs, even with the instruction manual.
I wanted to show off a pic of Shovel swinging his blade (complete with a "whoosh" wind piece you can attach to his weapon), but it was a pain in the ass trying to attach all the little parts together and balance him with the platform stands. He has an extra leg piece that I assume you can use to prop against the chest - which I would have loved to use - but it also has that thin peg I couldn't hash out where to stick in. Ahh well, maybe I'll take another shot at this later.
The treasure chest can open, so you could reasonably store something inside.
It's been amazing to see indie games finally getting their nendoroid due. I really hope this will sell well enough to draw interest for more SK nendos. I'll never have a Propeller Knight, but Specter Knight is very much possible and I desperately want a Nendo Specter so badly.
Even if it never happens, this is such a good, affordable Shovel Knight figurine to have in your room.

i loved that “entombed” (s2 e5 of tbb) was basically just the guys being like “sigh. whatever our baby sister wants. anything to make her happy” and also hunter being low key jealous of how well phee and omega were getting along. not to mention it was basically an indiana jones crossover (there was even a direct reference to raiders of the lost ark when phee goes to take the heart of the mountain and it cuts back to omega watching her intently) top tier episode tbh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[alt image ID: first image on the right is from the bad batch season 2 episode 5: entombed and shows phee on top, examining “the heart of the mountain” treasure to remove it from its spot. omega sits by, watching phee try to recover the treasure with her hands held up near her chest, she is nervous but also excited. the second image is from raiders of the lost ark and shows indiana jones kneeling in front of the golden fertility idol, examining it as he tries to figure out the best way to remove it. sapito, indy’s companion (and eventual betrayer) sits by, watching indy in a similar fashion omega is in the previous image. the two scenes are parallels to each other, the bad batch scene being a fun allusion to the iconic raiders scene. end alt image ID]

2023 Retrospective: Album of the Year
Once again, this is a very long post, reviewing all of the albums I bought this year. They are sorted by score of the album as a whole, so the first album is the best one and the last is the "worst" one.
WOODZ – OO-LI (7,4/10)
This album really is something. It doesn’t sound like anything an idol would release at all. It sounds like an indie rock album. Colorful Trauma was already an interesting step in his discography, but this took it even farther. At this point, he should just rebrand to a rock band, because he does it better than most K-Rock bands. The packaging is fine. The version I have is the tall magazine type, that barely fits in the shelf, because screw normal shelves at this point. Different from other ones though, the CD is actually attached to the Album properly and not in a way, when it feels like it might fall out any moment. The only problem I see with it, is that the poster and postcard in it, bulk it out.
Deep Deep Sleep 6/10 – Sounds very depressed.
Journey 7/10 – Sounds very personal and was probably the best title track choice because of it.
Drowning 9/10 – Makes me feel like I have a gaping hole in my chest. Put it on repeat!
Busted 8/10 – I adore this whole song. I really do. But it also peaks in its first 45 seconds.
Who Knows? 7/10 – I want this man to be studied in a lab.
Ready to Fight 8/10 – Abandon K-Pop and go full rock at this point. I wouldn’t complain.
Abyss 7/10 – A beautiful ballad, but I never listen to it.
U-KNOW – Reality Show (7,2/10)
Another year, another TVXQ solo album that becomes one of my favourites. It’s a great pattern, I can’t lie. The entire mini album just sounds very complete. Any song could have been the title track and picking a favourite is so hard, that I just refuse to do it. It also sounds very cinematic, like you can fit each song to a scene in a movie. U-KNOW also sells all of the songs with his personality. The packaging on the other hand seems very sloppy. It’s a magazine type and while it looks fun, like an ad for the “Reality Show”, there are glaring problems. Some of the pages are glossy and some aren’t, which looks awkward. It also protects nothing. While writing this, I pulled it off the shelf and everything just fell out the bottom, because it doesn’t protect shit. They really could have done that better.
Wannabe 6/10 – It’s a perfect introduction to the album that sets the tone, however it would sound better without the female voice.
Vuja De 8/10 – The title has been an inside joke between my sister and me for years now, which makes it feel even more like it was specifically catered to me.
Tarantino 8/10 – U-KNOW does seem to like his movies, so the title checks out. He also is a smooth badass.
Relax 8/10 – A song with a specific vibe that gets elevated by U-KNOW’s personality.
Spotlight 7/10 – Sounds like the calm before the storm.
Curtain 6/10 – Would have been better as a collaboration with Karina.
ATEEZ The World Ep. 2: Outlaw (7/10)
The B-Sides on this album are better than the title track, but Bouncy really was the best choice. The World series really has cemented a music style specific to it and I love that. None of them sounds quite the same, but you can tell they belong together. I am very sad though, that this episode doesn’t have the same style as Ep. 1. The Treasure and Fever series were designed to looks similar and even The World Ep. FIN looks similar to Ep. 1. This just seems to be the odd one out. I do think it looks cool though. There are some problems with the cover because the foil seems a bit too tight, which causes the cover to coil outwards. The CD also is not attached to anything and is protected by merely an envelope. It can be jammed into the back or front of the album pretty securely though.
This World 7/10 – I love that the first track on Ep. 2 continues the last track from Ep. 1
Dune 8/10 – Probably the weirdest song on the album, but also my favourite.
BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILI PEPPERS) 7/10 – Grows on me, the more I listen to it. It’s just fun.
DJANGO 7/10 – Probably the most cohesive song on the album.
Wake Up 7/10 – I don’t think this would make a good alarm.
Outlaw 6/10 – It’s fine, but it has a lot of missed potential.
Jay Chang – Late Night (7/10)
I was very much looking forward to his solo debut after Boys Planet finished and I have to say that it’s really good. I don’t think there is a single song I really dislike. I just wish the album wasn’t made from cardboard paper, God, damn it! Why do companies think this is good packaging? It was already slightly squished when I grabbed it in the store and I was very careful transporting it home, but it still looks like I smashed it against the wall. Luckily nothing was damaged. The photocards also look overly bright for some reason, but it might just be the lighting.
I’ll Be There 8/10 – This is my new comfort song. It just sounds like a hug.
Rockstar 7/10 – It’s not a rock song, but I’ll let it slide this one time, because I know he can do it.
Up to You 6/10 – Jay is suave enough to make this song work.
Sunlight 7/10 – Another comfort song. The lyrics are also very sweet.
I’ll Be There (English Version) 7/10 – Bizarrely, he sounds a little less confident in this version.
Rockstar (English Version) 7/10 – Just as good as the Korean version, but the lyrics are a bit awkward.
Key – Killer (6,8/10)
It’s a killer repackage (ha). All of the new songs are very good and add well onto the songs already on it. They fit in with the tracks and really do complete the album. Since my opinion on the other songs hasn’t changed, I’ll just review the new songs and add them onto the score. The packaging looks great as always with Key. The “CRT” version I have looks fun and protects the CD well, by just putting it in a normal CD box. It’s a tiny bit loose, but nothing that stands out in a bad way.
Killer 8/10 – Key could do synthwave for the rest of his career and I don’t think I would get tired of it.
Heartless 8/10 – Very mad, we never got a performance of this song.
Easy 7/10 – Vibe is: “I am mentally unwell, but in a sexy way.” Please, just go see a therapist, honey.
Kang Daniel – REALIEZ (6,6/10)
This is just a very solid mini album. I feel like Kang Daniel really knows how to make consistent music most of the time and this is a very good addition to his discography. And, like a maniac, he once more claims the best album packaging in terms of protectiveness. There is a protective plastic cover around the album and then also a box sealed with a magnet. Everything in the album also is very orderly. He really should just design all albums from now on.
Wasteland 8/10 – Sounds desolate and sets the tone for SOS really well.
SOS 7/10 – “Call an ambulance, but not for me.”
Supernova 7/10 – Reminds me of something I can’t place, but it’s a banger so it doesn’t matter.
Liar 6/10 – Well, self-reflection is the first step to getting better.
Dreaming 5/10 – Sounds empty.
VIXX – CONTINUUM (6,6/10)
After a way too long hiatus, the concept kings of K-Pop are finally back. And even though it’s just half the group, this was a very solid comeback. Though there wasn’t really a concept. I guess it might have been Parallel but taken seriously. It does feel very good to have them back regardless. The album design kind of triggers a pet peeve of mine though. And that is clear plastic covers where you can see the glue holding it together. I don’t know why, but it just looks ugly to me. The album does very much fit into the plastic in a way that it’s not too loose, but also not to tight though, which is nice.
Amnesia 7/10 – The chorus is a bit too generic for me and the weird clicking/beeping noise in the background throws me off, but I still like the song.
Chemical 6/10 – Needs a better chorus, but otherwise slaps.
Lilac 6/10 – A nice ballad, but not much else.
Savage 8/10 – Should have been the title track. Also, Ken in this song continues to prove that he’s vocal Jesus.
If You Come Tonight 6/10 – I would come over immediately, if they’d ask me.
Key – Good & Great (6,5/10)
I think this isn’t Key’s best work. Some of the B-Sides sound too similar too each other. On their own, I think I would love them all, but after each other, I sometimes can’t tell where one song ends and the next one starts. There is one stand out regardless, aside from the title track of course. Conceptually, the packaging of the album is really cool but there are two issues I have with it. The first is that the File version, is way too big. I own a lot of big albums, but I seriously had to lower my shelf to get this album to fit in (I need a new shelf…). The other is with the different versions itself. Only the File version has a regular CD. The other versions that exist either are digital or use a mini-CD. Who the hell uses mini-CDs in 2023?
Good & Great 7/10 – Yeah, he better fucking get paid for constantly releasing good music.
Can’t Say Goodbye 7/10 – Fun to listen to.
Intoxicating 6/10 – Sounds way too similar to Can’t Say Goodbye.
Live Without You 6/10 – Just very generic
CoolAs 8/10 – I’m 100% convinced that this song was originally called “Cool Ass”. Also, I strive to be as suave as Key.
Mirror, Mirror 5/10 – The token ballad on the album.
PURPLE KISS – Cabin Fever (6,5/10)
Probably their most solid mini album so far. It doesn’t have something like Love is Dead on it, but all the songs are on the same level, which makes it feel very complete. However, the album already arrived damaged because it’s basically just cardboard paper. Come on, RBW. Stop doing this! Nothing in the album was damaged, but still… PURPLE KISS’ album packaging really seems to get worse.
Intro: Save Me 7/10 – Not their best intro but featuring some of their best vocals.
Sweet Juice 7/10 – The lyrics can be a bit wonky at times, but their voices carry it wonderfully.
T4ke 7/10 – Could have also been the title track, but really works better as a B-Side.
Autopilot 7/10 – Very sweet lyrics and vocals. A comfort song.
Agit 6/10 – Cute, but they also sound bored with it.
So Far So Good 5/10 – Good vocals, but not their best ballad.
TXT – The Name Chapter: Temptation (6,4/10)
All of the B-Sides on this album are better than the title track. Sugar Rush Ride isn’t necessarily bad, but there are some issues I have with the song. The other songs on the album just sound way more complete. The packaging of this album seems very half-baked. The book itself looks nice and protective, but once you open it, everything just falls out, because nothing is attached to it. Also, when you open the photobook, it creaks, and it shouldn’t do that. It’s a sign that the album isn’t bound properly, and the spine might break.
Devil by the Window 8/10 – Not title track material, but very good. It was also very funny to see catholic K-Pop fans lose their minds over the devil being mentioned in the lyrics.
Sugar Rush Ride 6/10 – Solid build up and anti-drop, but sadly the second half of the chorus is awful.
Happy Fools 5/10 – Not the worst collaboration to come out of HYBE, but I could do without it.
Tinnitus (Wanna be a Rock) 7/10 – The song slaps, but please stop naming your songs while drunk.
Farewell, Neverland 6/10 – Nice closer to the album.
Lee Seung Yoon – Shelter of Dreams (6,3/10)
Lee Seung Yoon is not really a K-Pop artist, but more an indie rock one and I can’t believe he didn’t slip onto my radar sooner. His voice is very nice, and the album is fine. The packaging is also very solid, being a box protected by a paper cover. The cover can get damaged easily, but the CD is very secure.
Hero Collector 7/10 – Sounds happy and sad at the same time without the two moods clashing.
Unsubtitled 6/10 – He should collaborate with WOODZ.
Some Some Some 7/10 - Sounds oddly upbeat, but like it hates itself for being like that.
Shelter of Dreams 8/10 – It’s lamenting, yet also very beautiful.
Poetic License 5/10 – A boring ballad. I don’t have anything else to say about it.
Summer in 1995 5/10 – An album can only have one really amazing ballad, I guess.
Wild Horse 8/10 – Makes me want to go for a run. Also, the guitar riff is really cool.
Pricey Hangover 8/10 – I don’t think rock music would help with your hangover, but that doesn't mean, I won’t try.
Upon a Smile 6/10 – It could do a bit more with its chorus.
Harder than a Prayer 5/10 – It’s lamenting, but in a boring way.
A Sip of Song 6/10 – The one song, where it actually would have been really funny if it were short.
Nickname 5/10 – Would have fit better near the beginning of the album.
CIX – OK Episode 2: I’m Okay (6,3/10)
This single album is very soothing to listen to. The only song I regularly listen to is Save Me, Kill Me, but the other songs are also nice. The album is a standard-book-style packaging. It’s nothing too fancy, but it works just fine, and the colour scheme looks nice. The CD is also properly attached to it, which seems to be so rare nowadays. The one problem I have with it, is that the pages of the photobooks seem hard to flip through properly.
Back to Life 6/10 – Sounds very soothing.
Save Me, Kill Me 8/10 – Tears my heart out.
Curtain Call 6/10 – This is what I imagine a star shower sounds like.
Color 5/10 – Would be better without the rap part.
PITTA – BE FREE (6,3/10)
Hyungho continues to bless us with his amazing voice, which really is the main reason I bought this album for. That, and the fact that it has a live DVD included with it, which I haven’t watched yet. It also chooses the best form of packaging: A box with a magnetic lid. It’s simple, but it works really well.
INTRO 5/10 – I’m pretty sure this has the voices of the other FORESTELLA members mixed in.
CARPE DIEM 6/10 – Gives me Bon Jovi vibes.
SMOG 6/10 – Perfect proof that insane vocals don’t immediately make a ballad good.
BE FREE 8/10 – Sounds like it should be a James Bond theme song.
DANDELION 6/10 – This is what I imagine heaven sounds like.
UNIVERSE 7/10 – Sounds very ethereal.
Red Velvet – Chill Kill (6,3/10)
It’s the first album I bought of Red Velvet. I’m not usually a fan of them, and I also don’t like the title track as much, but all of the B-Sides are really good, so I just had to get my hands on it. I guess people had a point with that: Their B-Sides are better than their title tracks. The version of the album I own, is an individual member version. Specifically, Irene’s. She’s… certainly not my favourite, but the normal version didn’t look structurally sound at all, so I got it regardless. It is a bit confusing, because I first thought that it might be a magnet box, but no, you just slide it out the top or bottom. Though there is some resistance to this, it still slides out to easy for me to be comfortable with.
Chill Kill 6/10 – If the first half of the chorus were better, this could be their best title track.
Knock Knock (Who’s There?) 7/10 – Could have also been the title track.
Underwater 6/10 – The right amount of boring.
Will I Ever See You Again? 6/10 – The chorus is a tiny bit too generic for me, but the verses are beautiful.
Nightmare 7/10 – More proof that songs called Nightmare can do no wrong.
Iced Coffee 5/10 – I… don’t get what the song name has to do with it.
One Kiss 8/10 – A Red Velvet song with an actual good rap part? In 2023? Also, their harmonies.
Bulldozer 8/10 – A Red Velvet song that actually shows personality? In 2023?
Wings 5/10 – Sounds a bit like a children’s song.
Scenery 5/10 – Sounds like it should be in a mafia movie.
Taemin – Guilty (6,2/10)
For his first solo comeback after his military hiatus, it’s fine. The title track certainly is the best song, and the rest is fine. It’s not something I feel incredibly strong about, but I do appreciate its existence. Taemin also took a page out of Key’s book for the album design. It’s a shoebox. Like… something you keep memorabilia from an ex in. He’s very much feeding our delusions and I love it. The disk still is properly protected, and the inserts are all fun, though I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with just one shoelace. ARMYs immediately cried plagiarism though, because it supposedly resembled V’s album design, but there is a very clear difference between the two. One is a shoebox, and the other is designed to look like a package you receive in the mail. One is good, the other is incredibly sleep including.
Guilty 7/10 – Sounds a tiny bit like a cult indoctrination, which is very fitting for Taemin. But he’s also too good for this song.
The Rizzness 7/10 – Hilarious but also cool at the same time. Only Taemin could make that work, really.
She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not 6/10 – Sounds a bit like it features NCT.
Not Over You 6/10 – Feels like swimming through sludge.
Night Away 5/10 – Seems to summon sleep instead.
Blue 6/10 – Does feel and sound blue.
ONEWE – Gravity (6,2/10)
This is an English album. You really should keep that in mind because I completely forgot. The English versions of the songs aren’t bad by any means, in fact, at least one is actually better than the original. In my opinion of course. Feel free to disagree. The packaging is very loose, causing everything to almost fall out just for grabbing the album off the shelf. The design of it is also kind off odd, with the picture on the front being printed with the long side on the bottom. The name of the album however, isn’t written on the short side, but the long side which causes the album to look a bit weird.
Gravity 7/10 – Yonghoon’s vocals are absolutely fantastic, and the song shows them off nicely, but I wish there was a bit more too it.
AuRoRa 7/10 – The English lyrics for this song are really nice.
Parting 6/10 -  Sounds like they are cramming to many words per line.
Regulus 5/10 – A little too much autotune for my taste.
Montage_ 7/10 – Not as good as the original, but still very nice.
Rain to Be 7/10 – The transitions don’t seem to work quite as well in English.
Ring on my Ears 5/10 – Gotta love a man with piercings, but this ain’t it.
Trauma 6/10 – I… have no clue what this song is supposed to be about.
Logo 6/10 – Sweet, but also boring
End of Spring 7/10 – Actually sounds better in English. Probably because it sounds like an Avicii song.
Crazy Good 5/10 – The chorus is… not good.
PURPLE KISS – FESTA (6/10)
This might be their weakest release so far. I never really listen to any of the songs. The only reason why I got it, was basically just for completion’s sake. The album design is also baffling. Not only does the box look like there needs to be more filler material to not let everything fall inward, but it also comes with just a mini-CD. …didn’t I just go over this? No one uses mini-CDs. Some computers can’t even read mini-CDs. Luckily mine can, I just don’t understand, why it’s not a normal CD. Maybe because of production costs? But even then, it can’t be that much more. And if that’s where you’re failing, then I fear for the future.
7HEAVEN 6/10 – Their vocals are great as always, but they can’t save this song on their own.
Biscuit 6/10 – I don’t like the chorus.
Mistake 6/10 – Probably the best of the three songs, which is sad.
SHINee – HARD (6/10)
It really hurts me to say this, because SHINee is one of my ult groups, but I did not like this album that much. To be completely fair, a huge fault of that is the title track and I do think, that any of the B-Sides would have worked better as the title track. But none of them necessarily stuck with me, aside from two songs really. Also, they made the impossible, possible by creating multiple songs that actually sound better, when it’s just Minho, Key and Taemin performing them. Actually insane. In another first from SHINee, the packaging is actually really good. It did take me an embarrassing long second to figure out how to open it, but it’s surprisingly protective. It even has a magnet protecting it. The only complaint I have with it, is that I wish that the disk wasn’t just shoved into an envelope, but was properly attached, but I guess we can’t have everything.
HARD 4/10 – I believe there is a good song hidden in here, but it was split into so many parts that it’s unrecognisable.
Juice 7/10 – My favourite song on the album, ironically. Also, sounds better without Onew, which should be considered a hate crime.
10X 6/10 – The chorus is almost painfully generic.
Satellite 7/10 – The verses could be a lot better, but the chorus does save the song.
Identity 7/10 – My favourite song on the album, unironically. Should have been the title track, tbh.
The Feeling 6/10 – Very sweet song for Shawols, but the vocals and instrumental sound a bit… off.
Like it 6/10 – A bit generic, but still fun.
Sweet Misery 6/10 – Would sound better as a Taemin solo.
Insomnia 6/10 - Would sound better as a Minho solo.
Gravity 5/10 – Drags you down.
The Rose – Dual (5,9/10)
This album was very much an impulse buy because I really like Back to Me. The other songs on the album are not as good as that song and are pretty mediocre, but I can’t say I regret buying the album regardless. They did choose the very best type of packaging as well: a box with a magnetic lid. The disk is properly protected and there really is nothing to complain about.
Dawn 5/10 – Fine as an intro
You’re Beautiful 6/10 – Man, how whipped can you be for your significant other?
Nauseous 6/10 – Very generic.
Back to Me 8/10 – I don’t think I ever will get over these lyrics.
Lifeline 6/10 – Kind of a Nothingburger.
Dusk 5/10 – Weird place to put this song. I completely skipped it by accident.
Angel 5/10 – A nice ballad, but nothing special.
Eclipse 6/10 – Here I’m running out of things to call things mediocre with.
Alive 7/10 – A little too much autotune for my taste.
Cosmo 6/10 – Sounds like End of Spring by ONEWE.
Wonder 5/10 – Reminds me of Coldplay (derogatory).
INFINITE – 13EGIN (5,8/10)
It’s not their best album, but it’s just very nice to have them back. And under their own name in their own company no less. I really hope this wasn’t just a one-time thing. The packaging is very good. It’s a box that protects the CD properly and has a photobook for each member, which is something, I don’t think I have ever seen. The box also, despite being simply black with their logo on it in gold, looks very fancy.
Intro: 13 3/10 – Very unpleasant to listen to. Especially with headphones.
New Emotions 6/10 – Not their best work but the chorus has no business being so smooth.
Time Difference 8/10 – A beautiful song that shouldn’t be relegated to being just a B-Side.
TXT – The Name Chapter: FREEFALL (5,7/10)
The album took a while to grow on me, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it. There are some baffling choices this album made though, but I’ll mention it when I talk about specific songs. The album packaging also is really weird. You are supposed to rip one side open and like… damaging an album like that is always not good. Everything else is also just kind of shoved into there. It doesn't fall out because of there are folds on the top and bottom, but they also cause some problems with the photobook. The book is attached to the back and if you try to casually browse through the book, the pages constantly brush against the folds, which is mildly annoying. I also don’t understand, why they made random posters of buildings and walls instead of the members. Like, sure that’s what I would put on my wall.
Growing Pain 8/10 – Maybe it wouldn’t fit, but it would have made a much more interesting title track. They do make this style work.
Chasing that Feeling 6/10 – Baby’s first synthwave song. It seriously sounds like a first draft.
Back For More (TXT Ver.) 5/10 – Wow, just… just, wow. Why would you remove Anitta’s verse? It’s the best part. Did you want to make this song more generic? Is it because fans were being weird? And also, this is the collaboration you want to erase, HYBE???
Dreamer 5/10 – Way too much autotune. I’m so sorry HYBE would do this to you, boys.
Deep Down 6/10 – Could be better, if the chorus wasn’t so painful.
Happily Ever After 5/10 – Painfully generic
Skipping Stones 7/10 – Would be better without the Autotune, but still good.
Blue Spring 4/10 – The vocals at the beginning are painful to listen to.
Do It Like That 5/10 – It’s just a huge pile of nothing. Also, this is the collaboration you chose to keep on the album?

Just Enough - Indiana Jones X GN Reader
Tumblr media
Title: Just Enough
Indiana Jones X GN Reader
Additional Characters: N/A
Drabble
Requested by @micheleamidalajedi!
WC: 500
Warnings: Indiana Jones Canon Violence mentioned, scars mentioned, anxiety, stress, depression all mentioned, slight angst, and fluff
It was stressful, all the times you woke up alone in bed, having to deal with the fact that Indiana wasn't there beside you, the constant fear of the chance Indiana wouldn't return, wandering the days lonely and cold, wondering if he'd come back. All those things kept piling up on top of each other, suffocating you, cursing your mind. The problem was this time, it wasn't a nightmare. Your eyes were open, and you could breathe, but your body felt stiff. Like you couldn't move even the slightest bit without feeling pain shoot through your limbs. You wanted so badly to roll over on your side and bury your face into his chest, but you couldn't, so you took the next best thing... His pillow.
It was hard, staying home when Indiana went off on adventures. You wished you could've been a lighter sleeper, maybe you could've seen him before he left... Kissed him goodbye. Maybe... Beg him to stay? But, no... He promised he'd come back. And make you promise you'll be fine for a while by yourself. It was only supposed to be five days... But it's been six and a half already and you were getting anxious... You wanted to call him, anything... Be spontaneous and grab a quick flight. But you knew he'd be upset, seeing you didn't listen to him. But you did, you just didn't want to be alone.
It was irritating since you never fully understood why he had to leave you all the time, or why you couldn't go with him. Yes, it was dangerous, but you used to go on adventures with him before, and those weren't a problem. You had scars from those misfortunes, from falls, stabs, and whatnot. You knew Indy didn't like to see you hurt, so you knew that might have been a big part of his decision. But you hated how Indy was basically treating you as if you were a child. You were a grown adult. You could take care of yourself.
It was depressing, going through the motions of living, getting up unwillingly from your bed just to shower, cry, eat, and watch the telly. And for the next few days, you'd do the same thing over and over again. Shower, cry, eat, watch telly, eat, and sleep. You could've been with Indy, finding treasure and sleeping under the stars. Shower, cry, eat, watch telly, eat, and sleep. You could've been riding elephants or escaping dangerous pits of snakes, but no... Shower, cry, eat, watch telly, eat, and sleep. You stayed home, thousands upon thousands of miles away from your love.
It was relieving, to hear the door open, and to see Indy walk through the door, mostly unharmed. To have him pull you in his arms and hold you tightly to him. You squeezed him back, but just enough that he could feel and know you missed him. “Didn’t I tell you?” He muttered in your ear, “I always keep my promises.”

Hey what are your favourite books? I’m so intrigued about what books you’ve talked about to musicians about, because I too have ripped into many an indie boy about only ever paying attention to Bukowski hahah so relate
Hiiii!!! This is my favourite thing to talk about so thank I for the ask <3
So I'm not gonna lie, for all I rip into indie boys for Bukowski, some of my favourite books are by people just as bad morally haha
Also this is gonna be longggg because my taste varies so much
I think my favourite books/most treasured/ almost always guaranteed to have one of these in my bag at all times are:
🌿 Quite Early One Morning/Dylan Thomas
Man's a genius when it comes to a vivid, touching, somewhat haunted short story, there's so much life and spirit in every single memory he tells, and if you listen to him reading his own stories you feel them hit all the harder. Something really homely and cosy and I read them whenever I'm feeling sad. This little books been all over with me.
🌿The Dear Green Place / Archie Hind
When I lived down in England with my gran, I'd phone B when I was sad and he'd read down the phone to me, usually Scottish faerie tales and stuff but also this from time to time and then he gave me a copy one day and I read in cover to cover in a day or two whilst travelling and like, this is one of the ones a mean when I talk about like, "nothingy books that are sad af but beautiful, Bukowski take notes.." because it's just about a working class man living in poverty, he meets the love of his life and they marry and they live in poverty, he's desperately trying to be a writer, nothing works out for them, it's miserable, its bleak, it's fucking beautifully written, it captures the hope in being hopeless, it touches your own sadness and idk, also the man just describes industrial Glasgow beautifully. It's just beautiful. (Also no one gets raped, he doesn't think women are whores, he's a kind and mostly gentle man, it really shows you that not all men are like or think like Charles Bukowski which I think is v important)
🌿 God's Silence / Franz Wright (poetry)
Okay so, he's struggling with the death of his famous poet father, he's struggling with his faith, he's struggling with alcohol and feeling hopeless. Again melancholic, nihilistic but... well written, it actually makes you feel something, there's imagery, you can picture stuff, there are lines that hit you in your chest and stay with you forever.
🌿 How Green Was My Valley / Richard Llewellyn
This is one of my dad's favourite books and he read it to me in bits when I was sick as a teenager. But I've read it so many times now too. The funniest thing I think about this is that the guy who wrote it claimed to have based it on his own experiences as a Welshman from a Welsh mining family, but he actually spent most of his life in England. I was always read this with a "isn't our country gorgeous, aren't these descriptions beautiful," kind of attitude and part of the reason I still love it is because it's true, just the first few pages where he's describing the valley are fucking lovely and really do make me a wee bit homesick but like, it's funny to me that the man was actually about as Welsh as me.
Books musicians recommended to me (I did not like all of these):
🌜 a few weeks ago an indie boy in a band went off on one about how Perfume by Patrick Suskind is his favourite novel of all time and I was actually probably a bit too mean but A) me and my dad are both in agreement that it's just not thattt interestingly written B) it's my ex's favourite book and C) guarantee this particular indie boy is only saying it's his favourite because it was Kurt Cobains favourite.
🌜 Hangover Square / Patrick Hamilton
A member of the libertines recced this to me when I was extremely drunk about 7ish years ago haha, like drunk enough that I don't remember which one I was talking to, but he was really laying it on thick about how much he'd enjoyed reading it (I honestly think he'd just finished it because he gave me the copy out his pocket which is either like, he always keeps a book to give to girls he's chattin up or he'd just finished it idk) anyway I didn't read it for ages afterwards but then when I did I was actually like oh shit this is quite good actually. It's very dark but also quite amusing in a similar way to all the Russian stuff, like bad shits happening to the protagonist but the protagonist is a bad person so you're enjoying it I guess.
🌜 Lolita / Vladimir Nabokov
Okay so as much as we all know Lolita to be that book, there's no denying it's incredibly beautifully written, the prose is gorgeous (purposefully so because famously Nabokov was laughing at the stupid Americans he said would praise anything if you dressed it up nice enough, even noncing)
This was another rec from my "wants to be a groupie coquette" days and I'm not gonna say who it was who recommended it to me, but they read me some of it and went on a little rant about how lovely they thought it was. And I laughed at them later when I was reading it because I was like wow, you're the person this mans laughing at wow. BUT I'm also eternally grateful to them for turning me onto Nabokov when I was like 16 because Nabokov turned me onto all the other Russians and also Nabokov wrote one of my favourite books ever also. So I owe alot to the older man in the indie band who should not have been talking to me lol.
🌜 Ham on Rye / Charles Bukowski
So! Many! Men! Told me to read this book or other Bukowski books and I tried really hard with the man's poetry and stuff but fucking hell, I can't do it... I just don't think you can go from idolising Ginsburg's "I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving, hysterical, naked..." to Bukowski's "People run from rain but sit in bathtubs full of water," and accept the latter as a genius because like, those poems are essentially about the same hopelessness that swept up several American generations and yet one of them captures the devastation and the hideous romance of it all and one is making snide comments about baths.
🌜Bright Dead Things / Ada Limon
This is actually one of my favourite poetry collections of all time, it's gorgeous and emotional and you will be so unsurprised to find out that it was a woman who recommended it to me, she also went off on a long and loving rant about Sylvia Plath, it was lovely. Best post gig convo ever.
🌜 Just Kids / Patti Smith
Okay Patti Smith is fine right, but every feminist boy in an indie band is going to rec this to you as proof that he reads books by women. She is good though, I didn't finish the book but that's because I started reading Touching From a Distance/Deborah Curtis at the same time and got my heart trashed so badly I couldn't pick up a book for a month afterwards.
🌜Touching From a Distance / Deborah Curtis
The man who lent me this one actually had really good taste in books and put me onto a lot of good authors (Max Porter - read Lanny - , Amalie Smith, Emma Glass, Fernanda Trias, Victoria Kennefick - eat or we both starve is very good poetry - Daisy Johnson) he's really into his musician biographies as well and he's recommended a few good ones over the years. But this is by far the best one, it's really heart wrenching and it tells the story of a family getting let down time and time again but the government/social care and healthcare in Britain and just, idk, it doesn't glamorise Ian Curtis and it doesn't dismiss any of the bad shit he did, it doesn't paint him as a lovely wouldn't hurt a fly kind of man. But it does give you a lot of insight into a complicated and painful set of experiences, and honestly I think it's written simply and beautifully too.
🌜 Homage To Catalonia / George Orwell
I'm literally just including this to let you know that if a man tells you to read George Orwell run a fucking mile. This is by far the better of his books I've read but Orwell's just a classic shitty misogynist with an inability to even write that stuff in a pretty way. Like I think the fact that he himself was very privileged and constantly trying to convince the world that be actually wasn't, and that he was really interesting just shines through so hard. You sorta read it and you don't get any of the "this man understands me" you just get "this mans boring and wining about something his rich parents could totally fix" like, he doesn't have anything good to say because he doesn't feel idk.
Other big favourites of mine that I recommend to everyone ten times a day:
🍒 Glory / Vladimir Nabokov, The Double / Vladimir Nabokov
Honestly skip Lolita and go straight to the double because it's straight up incredible, it's black humour, self made catastrophes, your main character is bad and you see him cut about making trouble for himself and it's so entertaining and just a good read. Glory is amazing for the same reason. Nabokovs been done so dirty by heart shaped Lana girls (ME!) And the men who fancy them.
🍒 Elena Ferrante / My Brilliant Friend and the rest of the Neopolitan Quartet
These are for the girls and possibly the men who want to understand the girls. It's like This Is What Makes Us Girls but set in post war Italy in a poor neighbourhood, it follows two girls who are best friends who's different lives drag them apart and push them together. It will make you feel things, it will make you write a letter to your childhood best friend, you will want to call your mother and get to know her etc. It's so so good, there's drama, there's emotion, it's not an overly complicated book full of long words so you find yourself really gripped and hooked in without having to concentrate which is great.
🍒 Tropic of Cancer/Capricorn / Henry Miller
Of all the horrific cunts out there he's the worst (apart from William Burroughs because as far as I know Henry Miller never murdered his wife?)
But he was a misogynist, he was a racist, he was just a total lowlife HOWEVER
All is forgiven (joke) because there are some heavenly passages in these two books, I remember being so breath taken when I was reading these as a sad stoned late teens girl in my lonely little London flat. I lay on my rug getting high and read these two in like 3 days and I kept crying cause the words were so fucking pretty. If Bukowski had ever written anything this pretty I'd have forgiven him for being such a pervert.
Trigger warning though, you have to be really careful with Henry miller because there's heavy violence against women in some of his books (I don't remember there being much in these tbh, just explicit but consensual sex in these two) but in some of his others he talks about raping women or beating them and it's unpleasant. He was for sure a deeply unpleasant human being. Very good writer though.
🍒The Unbearable Lightness of Being / Milan Kundera
I only read this one last winter, I was miserable and feeling like I needed to press on the emotional bruise and this book really did the trick.
Again, the main character is a womanising cunt and I would say if you ever meet a man who reminds you of him then run as fast as you can. However there's just so much beautifully written sorrow in it and again, there were passages that stole my breath away or made me swallow a lump in my throat or just straight up gasp on the train home from work.
"But is heaviness truly deplorable and lightness splendid? The heaviest of burdens crushes us, we sink beneath it, it pins us to the ground. But in the love poetry of every age, the woman longs to be weighed down by the man’s body. The heaviest of burdens is therefore simultaneously the image of life’s most intense fulfillment. The heavier the burden, the closer our lives come to the earth, the more real and truthful they become. Conversely, the absolute absence of a burden causes man to be lighter than air, to soar into heights, take leave of the earth and his earthly being, and become only half real, his movements as free as they are insignificant. What then shall we choose? Weight or lightness?"
"In the sunset of dissolution, everything is illuminated by the aura of nostalgia, even the guillotine."
I remember I underlined a lot in this book and like just searching for the passages I loved most has made me want to read it again.
🍒 The Bell Jar / Sylvia Plath
I just don't think I'd be a nymphet girlie on Tumblr if I didn't tell everyone that reading this book when I was just starting to feel the strain of uni was like, being hit with an emotional freight train and being relieved that it had hit me because that meant someone else had felt the same thing as me in the past. No one's going to write better about the intimate pain of womanhood than women I guess. The expectations everyone has on you to be bright young and beautiful like, no man's ever tapping into that no matter how empathetic they may be.
🍒 The Pachinko Parlour / Elisa Shua Dusapin
Similar to Sylvia Plath, there's just somet really touching and homely comforting when you read women in their late teens early twenties being lost and melancholic and wasting their life away and not achieving as much as they were supposed to, when you're a woman doing all of those things too. And that's what I am and what I was when I read this. The books written quite basically but not primitively, the sentences are all very simple but all the more touching for their simplicity I think.
🍒 Tristessa / Jack Kerouac
When I am miserable I put on Loveless by My Bloody Valentine and I lie in bed, languishing, reading this. It's literally just a real tragic story of love withering to loss and like, it's beat generation, and its written by an alcoholic wanker but, he's a sentimental, nostalgic wanker with a talent for making you feel sentimental and nostalgic for lives you never lived.
I'd also recommend Maggie Cassidy by the same man, his shorter novellas are really good and nowhere near as overwhelming as On The Road. Though On The Road is a good read if you have the time and patience for it.
🍒 The Dangers of Smoking In Bed / Mariana Enriquez
Some of the scariest short stories I've ever read fucked me up good and proper but also kick started my horror revival.
🍒 Rebecca / Daphne Du Maurier
Gothic and haunting but romantic too and she really really hits you in the chest when it comes to fancying gloomy older men who make you feel like a little girl. Again though her descriptions and sense of place are captivating, everything's vivid, you can really picture yourself in the gardens at Manderly. It's beautiful and dramatic and yeah, I love it. I read it at the height of a heatwave but I think it would also be a good autumn read tbh.
🍒 Wuthering Heights / Emily Brontë
Definitely read it when it gets cold and autumnal and gloomy. The books peak gloom. You hate every character and yet you feel their pain and root for them too. Idk I read it in the winter when I was sulking and at home in bed with a fever and it was really good, I've read it three times since haha.
🍒 Little Birds /Anaïs Nin
If you're gonna read Henry Miller you should read Anaïs Nin because she was his better half. She wrote erotica which men sent back complaining she ought to "cut the poetry" some of its very shocking but erotica back in the day was very much about challenging people and subverting the literary worlds expectation for art and stuff. I honestly think it's pretty feminist to read Anaïs Nin, as a teenage girl I think she taught me a lot about sexuality and definitely was how I learned sexuality isn't a masculine thing, that women's pleasure and desire is a fcking art form.
I will be straight up here and say with my whole chest that I haven't read enough women. When I was a teenager doing most of my reading I was reading the beat generation and the beats don't have many famous female writers among them because major sexism of the time meant that if a man went off and did drugs became a bum and lived the bohemian lifestyle he could be Jack Kerouac and be hailed a charming but gloomy tender author. When women did this they got carted off to institutions by their parents or became rhe victims of severe domestic violence. So for a long time I wasn't reading women because it didn't fit the genre I was into.
Then when I got back into horror I got deep into feminist horror but like, some of that is the likes of The Bloody Chamber which I read and HATED. I think basically what it is is that men who are good get published way more but also talked about way way more. Women who are good get published but not as often and when they do they get talked about less. Some of the best stuff I've ever read has been written by women but it's only in the last ten years started being translated because a lot of its from foreign countries and the literary worlds not long since stopped only publishing white men.
Anyways sorry for such a long post!!! If anyone decides to read any of these then let me know what you think of them!!!!

*sees the "if tumblr dies" post* If tumblr dies y'all will have to play an indie horror with a built in ARG game hidden in the morse code that an entire community will have to translate and track down several locations to answer phone calls from landlines still active in abandoned towns along the rail road to get a location that'll lead them to the middle of a field in Wiscidakota only to dig three feet down and find a treasure chest and inside is me cause that's only way you'll ever find my lily white ass.

musical shuffle tag meme
tagged by @hanjisoonie (and @hungerpunch in another musical tag meme) to do this cute music tag meme!!
rules: shuffle your ‘on repeat’ playlist and post the first 10 tracks & list 10 songs you really like, each by a different artist, and then tag 10 people to do the same !!
i'm shuffling my spotify wrapped here bc i have way to many playlists to choose from.
10 random tracks:
seventeen by sjowgren
everybody breaks by ivan & alyosha
crash by mai.la
our love (from arcane) by curtis harding and jazmine sullivan
parents by YUNGBLUD
little me by duumu and karnaboy
achilles come down by gang of youths
the kill by thirty seconds to mars
too much by HONEYMOAN
in the kitchen by mree
a pretty solid listing all around. no repeats, goes from artists with only 1k listeners a month to those with 5mil, from poptimism to rock, lot of lyricism and indie pop lol. i like to discover smaller artists a lot but will also get into a vibe trend where only one song will cut it or i have to devour one musician's album (see: yungblud) so i have to listen to that. i also did listen to like three soundtracks sooo heavily this past year. arcane takes the cake though, it was phenomenal in every way. if you haven't watched this breakdown of creating 'what could have been' by arcane musical composer alex seaver, you should!
10 favorite tracks:
blemish by mae mae and the colourist has some upbeat-sad contemplative vibes, which i'm always into. sonically it's just very appealing, the 'hate to burst your bubble, but you're always causing trouble like you always do', i listen to it on repeat a mmmm lot
i'm still here by john rzeznik from treasure planet! yeah, i'm still not over it!!!! it's so fucking good. sweeping and captivating, it builds in your chest like you're truly flying
jigoku tengoku by TWINKIDS it's just pure vibes, so very vibes. also: 'i'm thinking bloodstone/your cold li looving will/be keeping me warm' yeah i do love that vampire love thanks
nothing new by the strike i listened to the strike a lot this past year. a lot of their songs have a fabulous tempo that is perfect for furiously typing or running or cleaning or highway driving
this hell by rina sawayama when people talk about an anthem, this is the type of song they mean. anthem IS its genre. i jam, i groove, i sing along. i wanna do the two-step like in the music video
supercut by lorde i don't listen to a whole lot of lorde but supercut has a perfect late night driving echoing in the blue headlights atmosphere, with the echo of the vocals and the staccato in the bridges, it's very satisfying
the funeral by yungblud like i said, this album on repeat! 'do you hate yourself? well that's alright. do you love yourself? well that's alright! do you dream about the day you die?' lots to love, including the oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-ohs
powder blue/cascine park by yumi zouma here be vibes again! it's a very soothing sort of musical swimming, good for listening to on repeat and keeping a consistent tempo. most of this group's songs fall in the same home lo-fi vibe
vivaldi storm by 2CELLOS ha, i almost always have a little instrumental interlude in my playlists and i enjoy this little mashup a lot. emphatic and vibrant !
i love it when hot guys cry by link lauren honestly everyone should listen to this song. whenever i listen to it i wanna put it on repeat for days. when will it be on drag race, etc. it's just campy great goodness. i get recommended a lot of smaller queer artists on spotify and almost always enjoy them bc they are just so unabashedly themselves and over the top and romo and delightful - shout out to be steadwell, gregory dillon, heartthrob and kelechi!!
thanks for the tag, hon! i'll go ahead and no pressure tag:
@deadhoneysalama, @fromadifferentphase, @lomku, @somekindofsheepl, @sevenpoints, @spareourworld, @crent-trimm, @the-faultofdaedalus, @alexenglish, @docdracula ! 💖
