Shocked how many people think you can just turn on a computer and leave it on for weeks or months or years and never turn it off and it'll be fine. Computers need their sleep, and sleep mode does not count

"when i was your age, i was working three jobs to help support my family" and "when i was in college i was sleeping on a mattress on the floor and living off of soup"
YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DO THAT. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO DO THAT. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN TO YOU THAT THIS ISN'T A CHARACTER-BUILDING LESSON, IT'S JUST BAD

im so tired of the "we shouldnt criticize andrew tate fans, they're kids they don't know any better 🥺" and framing these boys as victims meanwhile those boys are being misogynistic bullies to the girls in their classes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
boys are coddled and treated like their beliefs and actions are harmless meanwhile girls' suffering is ignored. sure the boys are "just kids" but so are the girls.
imagine being a girl trying to learn in this sort of environment.
Tumblr media
teenage boys are engaging in abusive behavior towards their girlfriends that they learned from andrew tate and your primary concern is the left doesn't coddle men and boys in this discussion about misogyny?
Tumblr media
framing all andrew tate supporters as "young boys who don't know any better" ignores the support he has among adult men. in the UK, 26% of men aged 18-29 and 28% of men aged 30-39 agree with his opinions on women.
looking beyond andrew tate specifically, young men are more likely to feel threatened by feminism than older men. 50% of gen z men believe that feminism has gone 'too far'. there is an epidemic of misogyny among boys and young men.

i think my favourite part of leverage is the way that they keep putting eliot in situations. they make him a baseball star. a country music legend. a pro fighter.

Thinking about ND Stevenson having to squish his way into having catra and adora being in love but only in a subtle way until the last season, having to weave their romance so thickly in the plot so that the higher ups wouldn't get to cut it out, only being allowed to have catra and adora kiss in the very last episode. And now.
Now he got to show us a couple of men who say they love each other right from the start of the movie, who act affectionate and were clearly a couple from the start, who yes only kissed in the last minutes of the movie but not because they "weren't allowed" to do so before, but because it fit the story and their reconciliation and it was the right moment for them to kiss

The Batfamily fucking with Gotham must be the funniest thing. Nightwing corners two goons and they’re laughing him off so he says “don’t make me call the other guy!” and they start laughing even harder thinking he’s just going to call Mr. “no kill rule” again.
Nah, he calls Red Hood — the guy whose most recent temper tantrum resulted in the collection of multiple severed heads which the dude carried around for hours in a duffel bag like that’s fucking normal — and Jason steps out of the shadows with a big grin under his helmet like “Oh yeah, you’re dealing with me now. This is gonna be fun.”

I do think my favourite part of the tortured poet's department is how unreliable the narration is. Like it's done purposefully from the very beginning. This is not from a moment in time where the writer is making sense of things in a way that is logical or connected to reality. It is contradictory, incorporates toxic behaviours, and the actions and reactions throughout different strands are based in feelings that are not grounded or even necessarily based on reality at all.

I love how we made all those jokes about Phil having a crisis when Dan was away, like needing to be babysat by their friends and killing all the plants, but we just got the lore drop that Phil actually had a mini crisis and started dying everything in the house green for no apparent reason?? Like Dan leaving truly made Phil so bored and/or unhinged he decided dying his bathmat green would be fun. Is Daniel Howell of all people this man’s impulse control? How many weird impulses has Dan successfully stopped? How many has he encouraged?
