mockup: done! more or less. idk if I already linked the pattern I'm using? this one. I put everything together w a loose running stitch so it would be easy to take apart again; it gave me way less trouble than I anticipated? the front fall was a bit frustrating but that was due to me being an idiot and not cutting out all the pieces. other than that, it was quite straightforward and although the pattern description is a bit spartan, I could more or less follow it. skipped the pockets, which was probably not a v smart choice; I suspect they will be annoying.

the fit was awkward tho. I find they sit too low, and that's even though I made them too large; I'll see if I can add a few cm in height.

next I'll make a pair I that will hopefully be actually wearable. I got some stripey cotton/linen, and even had a bit of matching linen laying around that I'll use for the pockets and lining.

tfw your lining is nicer than the top XD

(yes, I am aware everything is crinkly af. I don't even own a pressing iron; that's how much sewing experience I have)

also, since this was supposed to be a weaving project: have an aesthetic™ picture of my loom

The Here and the Now

(alternate title: My therapy the last few months of my senior year in high school)

This is the last thing I made for my school’s English magazine. It’s the third time in a row that I make the comic for the magazine and I think this is my best work yet. I tried experimenting with the layout cause I wanted to make it more interesting and I’m really happy with it.

The message of the comic combined with my feelings these last couple of months have made it a lot more emotionally charged for me. I’m proud of myself.

my main advice for writing an enemies to lovers relationship is to resist the urge to make the characters' loathing and attraction mutually exclusive opposing forces. it's okay if they're getting weirdly into it and having Thoughts whilst also sincerely wanting to kill each other with hammers.
