Hello. I absolutely love your Fairy Tail head-canons, especially about demon slayer Gray. Feel free to take or leave these little ideas. Always love when you post <3

Imagine Team Natsu has to rent a vehicle or something and they require actual legal paperwork like a birth certificate and address or something like that (more than just “guild business! Gonna need this!”). Lucy doesn’t want to rent it because there is no way she’s going to be responsible for the inevitable damage. Erza, being the leader and a good friend volunteers. A few minutes later she comes back out, puzzled.

Erza: “why would they need a birth certificate? Shouldn’t me being present be proof enough of my existence?”

Gray starts snickering in the background. Natsu goes in next but comes out even earlier than Erza, cause at least Erza had a probably legal address at Fairy Hills, Natsu on the other hand lives in a house in the woods.

By the time Wendy goes in the receptionist is exasperated. “Yes I understand you are with Fairy Tail but that isn’t until page three of the paper work. None of you have made it past the first page.”

Gray finds this all very amusing.

Lucy: “Since you find it so amusing why don’t you go register, Gray!?”

Gray: mutters something

Natsu: “What do you mean you’re legally dead?!”

Cause you know, Ur just found a kid (the only survivor) and just decided to keep him. Oh, no official rescue crews didn’t show up until two days later? My kid now :)

The search and rescue teams never found any survivors in Gray’s old town so everyone was pronounced dead. The magic council or whoever is in charge of that stuff is also disorganized enough that no one realized that Gray Fullbuster is both a famous wizard and supposedly dead. So, just, Gray technically being considered legally dead the entire time he was at Fairy Tail.

Also, the slayers all going out on a job together(the dragon slayers had to drag Gray). The job turns out to be a trap (surprise!) and the floor just opens up revealing a giant vehicle.

Dark mage: “Ha-ha! I have bested the dragon slayer! The most powerful mages-“spots Gray just chilling, perfectly fine and not motion sick. “what are you doing?” Cause the guy was planning to capture dragon slayer, not whatever a demon slayer was (the dark mage didn’t even know demon slayers were a thing). Gray defeats the dark mage but holds it over Natsu’s head for a week.

After that anytime a large group of dragon slayers takes a job together they take Gray along for “extra security during transportation” or just extra security in general.

I also head-canon that each type of slayer magic has its own unique weakness. Dragon slayers get severely motion sick. God slayers are claustrophobic. Demon slayers cannot handle sweets. If Gray gets even a whiff of cake or any other dessert his gag reflex acts up and he gets really nauseous and other stuff like that. He of course hid it at first (he was afraid Erza would disown him) but eventually everyone learned about the weakness of demon slayers. Natsu teases him about it but never pushes it too far to the point of accidentally making Gray really sick.

Anyways, sorry for the long ask. Feel free to expand on anything. Always love some good slayer bonding head-canons and just Fairy Tail head-canons in general. <3

Oh, you have no idea how often ive though about Gray being legally dead, my personal favorite scenario is him trying to fix it and prove himself alive but cant

“How the fuck would i know my social security number??? i was eight years old! i had no reason to know!!!”

There was no dna or finger-print records of him or his family so he couldn’t prove it that way either. Apparently, declaring someone born or dead is easier than someone ‘resurrected’. To the law Gray of Isvan is dead and although Gray of Fiore bares similarities, they are two different people.

But ALSO to the law Gray of Fiore doesnt exist bc he has no birth certificate. And while hes adamant, he has no real proof beyond his word he is Gray Fullbuster of Isvan.

So basically, According to the law, Both Gray Fullbuster of Isvan and Fiore are dead and never existed, respectively.

tbh this sounds like an identity crisis waiting to happen, but what else is new with him

Erza probably tried to fix it after she was told bc she legally didnt exist for a minute either (never was filed as a real person, she was able to file for a late birth certificate on account that she wasnt claiming to be a ‘separate’ person and also Makarov did it for her) (dont ask why he didnt for Gray, i like plot holes). But quickly realized their situations were very different, him waiting over a decade to check in as a survivor with the proper authorities definitely weakened his case considering he was running around free before he decided he needed a birth certificate.

But hey, as long as he doesn’t need to rent something, or get a license or id, or work somewhere beyond Fairy Tail, or get married, or, god forbid, die again, he should be fine!

i wonder if he would be considered a ‘john doe’ if he actually died again since they have ‘no’ birth records

This also makes games like ‘two truths and a lie’ amazing

“alright so, im legally dead, i legally dont exist, and ive never physically died before” “Gray what the hell do you mean” “Guess the right one and ill tell you” “WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN THOUGH??”

i love everything to do with the ‘dragon slayers + gray’ dynamic

‘Extra security’ just turns into Gray babysitting a bunch of rambunctious dragons for hours. seriously, get this guy a reward for how he hasnt killed or maimed any of them yet.

Imagine them trying to convince Gray to walk to their destination instead of taking the train

“Its not that far!!” “its fucking 5 hours by train, How long do you think itll take to walk? Why would even you pick this job if you knew how long the ride would be??” … “nobody looked..” “are you actually serious.” … “oh my fucking god”

and thats the story of how one Demon slayer ended up having to babysit 4 very pitiful looking Fairy Tail Dragon slayers on a train. Dude had to drag them off it once it stopped too.

His side career of ‘Dragon Slayer Babysitter’ only gets harder when they realize holy shit! cold compresses can help nausea! and what do they have? a walking cold compress.

Taking a train trip with them just means second hand nausea AND embarrassment, and absolutely no personal space. A dream come true.

At least he gets to hold it over their heads

Tbh i like the irony of Dragon Slayers being motion sick because, yk, dragons can fly, so my hc for side effects for God Slayers and Demon Slayers were along the same lines

God Slayers being wide open space or flying since Gods are like the epitome of freedom? all knowing and have complete reign over everything, But claustrophobia works so much better for that same reason. It would cause extreme panic and rash decisions

And Demon Slayers was the dark because demons are supposed to be these evil creatures who thrive in the dark n stuff? basically it would send a Demon Slayer into a paranoid spiral.

But sweets being a weakness instead is such a silly thing that im gonna take it and run

Gray never cared for sweets in the first place, gave him a stomachache, but now he has to walk away from Erza mid conversation if she decides to indulge, which is almost everyday. She was absolutely heartbroken and devastated when the weakness was revealed, it was such a dramatic reaction one wouod think she was the one with the new weakness

When Gray pokes fun at Natsus motion sickness he’ll go on about how Gray is gonna have the lamest parties since he cant handle even the smell of sweets, especially cake.

A terrible realization for everyone involved with him, on par with when Gray realized he wouldnt be able to have ice cream comfortably again, thats like a staple for ice mages

Just found your Zack lives au and I love it!!!! I have a question about tifa and barret tho if that's ok!! What's their thoughts about the whole situation?? About how they're on the run from shinra and what they did to them?

YAYYY BARRET AND TIFA OMG. i have soo many ideas for them but im still figuring out quite how i want 2 draw them so this post is going to be mostly words.

both Tifa and Barret are initially suspicious of Zack, for good reason. With Barret recognizing him as a SOLDIER and Tifa recognizing him as specifically one of the SOLDIERs from Sephiroths mission in Nibelheim, theyre both not really sure what to make of him. Tifa, despite her suspicion, is grateful towards Zack for taking care of Cloud, and gets him the room he stays in to both get cloud a stable space to sleep, and keep him close enough to keep an eye on. Since they are suspicious of him, I imagine the timeline of missions would get a bit disorganized- Zack wouldn't be invited onto Avalanche as early as Cloud was, and he'd be hesitant to be so far from Clouds side even to take down Shinra. Slowly, though, since Tifa is also very interested in Clouds well being, Zack and her form an initially unsteady bond based on their care for him, which turns into a real friendship between the two of them!!

Tifas eventual trust in Zack would leak into Barrets trust in him- as he trusts her judgement 100%, even if he's more open with his worries on the matter. I think Zack and Barret would become fast friends once Barret starts to lose his suspicion of him. They're both stubborn, easily agitated people who also have a tendency to act silly or goofy or make a joke when situations get tough to ease tension.

And, in response to their warming up to them, Zack would be able to drop his own ":-)" mask a little bit and slowly open up about what he's been through and how Shinra has hurt him. Though, Zacks own trust in them does come with its ups and downs, especially when it comes to Cloud. (Sorry for the kinda off model barret here, it was my first ever sketch of him i will make more content of him soon >,<)

i think my biggest problem w/ rwby @ this point is how much they love shock value and making their characters suffer for entertainment. Ever since the end of volume 8 there’s been an air of “you’ll never guess what happens next!!” before the result being death, destruction, sadness, etc.

They played the Everything is Horrible card to wrap up volume 3 and it almost feels like theyve been trying to recapture that “woah what the hell???” factor ever since.

the volume 8 ending marked a really dark turn for rwby as a show, with scenes so graphic and upsetting that you can feel the grins on the writer’s faces when they told themselves “This is a game changer, no one will EVER expect this.” even though many of the darker themes were already explored much more tactfully in v3.

but the result is much more damning, because now, nothing is shocking. It’s the factor that made most people stop reading attack on titan. if ANYTHING is fair game, no matter how dark, then why get invested in any of it??? Hell, they made bumbleby canon after years of baiting, doubling back, yearning, etc, and it didnt even end up being the climax of the episode!!! (no really! that episode kept going after the happiest scene all season).

Now like, volume 9 has been arguably going better than its predecessors in terms of character writing, but it’s also really awkward to watch them stumble and trip over the decisions they made for the volume 8 ending. There’s a deep deep feeling that if the team just talked to each other for more than 5 minutes, none of these events would be taking place. It’s narrative tension in such a bland form. the biggest relief in the entire season was an extended scene where blake and yang FINALLY talk about their feelings. after AN ENDLESS SUPPLY of skirting around their issues, and unfortunately, that episode ended, and we had plenty more show afterwards.

This latest episode was a tough sell for me. i already don’t exactly trust RT to handle “sensitive/distressing themes”, and to that end i think that Ruby’s “decision” in this episode could’ve used much more sensitive & informed lead-in. Also, straight up there are some really dark things in this episode ASIDE from that, that I swear to god, someone was smiling over in the writer’s room.

SPOILERS: you can try to make Neo a sympathetic villain, or you can have her crush a defenseless mouse to death under her heel, but you can’t do both, dude. Ya just can’t.

END SPOILERS: overall, i think im fine w/ this season. it’s overall decent and is trying it’s best to handwave away all the bad decisions made in previous seasons. That method CAN work if it’s in the interest of making a more thematically interesting show & learning from your past mistakes, but instead it feels like they’re simply running from tragedy to tragedy, with glimpses of happiness that are starting to feel more like a trick they can pull out whenever they want to lure you into a false sense of security. Characters being happy is now a surefire sign that there’s going to be a character death soon.

SPOILERS AGAIN SORRY THIS IS DISORGANIZED: my friend hannah pointed out that one of the most egregious parts of this episode is that neo didnt know most of the people she was puppeting around to psychologically torture Ruby. Neo’s actions were supposed to convince Ruby that all these deaths were her fault, but because there’s VERY few characters that fit that bill, you end up with the issue of many characters being folks Neo shouldn’t even know the status of (unless she can suddenly read minds)

Leo, the headmaster of mistral died while ruby & friends were off screen, and was DIRECTLY killed by Salem without Ruby’s involvement.

Ozpin and Pyrrha were killed by Cinder, while Neo was busy careening into the abyss on her umbrella, implying in that in their brief time together, Cinder explained everyone who died who had a connection to Ruby. Neo clearly guesses that penny is dead in the first place, meaning that her even KNOWING about Leo is completely unexplainable. Neo also shouldnt have known that Ironwood was dead, and on top of all else, why does she think that Ruby would blame herself for clover???? methinks the writers just wanted to fill seats in neo’s scary fucked up dining room. wacky decision.

Or maybe it isnt, because the first thing i thought was: “Wow thats so scary what the fuck”

which again points a big neon arrow to the writing issues of current rwby: It was done to be shocking even though it doesn’t make sense.

I have a hard time believing any of the events of this episode are ones they’ll stick with. All of the characters who “died” in this episode can plausibly come back in some way shape or form, so I guess now its time to just wait n see what happens.

aaron burr pt. 1

hey y’all.... how y’all doing.......

so ive been gone for a while. sorry about that. but! i have a lot of posts to work on. i only have three more historical figures to do for @thereallvrb0y because i love him, and then imma post my notes from A People’s History of the French Revolution by Eric Hazan, so i am back. anyway, it’s burr time

but before i get into everyone’s favorite bisexual with a receding hairline, i have to give a little disclaimer. these notes are OLD. like from 2020 old, and while I always trust my sources, i don’t trust my ability to read my own handwriting, so if you go on the google doc and see Burr’s notes and you’re like “this makes no sense”, i don’t understand what i meant either. they’re also the most disorganized notes i have, but im not taking them again so. this is what we’re stuck with besties.

The Start of the Shitshow

Aaron Burr Jr. was born at Newark, New Jersey on February 6, 1756. His father was a highly respected clerical scholar who served as a pastor of the Newark First Presbyterian Church and as president of Princeton University. He contracted a fever and died when his son was only one and a half. His mother was a daughter of noted Puritan theologian and scholar Jonathan Edwards, who was remembered for his passionate speeches. She died when he was two, so he got the whole orphan arc over with very quickly.

He and his sister, Sally, lived with family friends until 1759 when Uncle Timmy Edwards of Stockbridge Massachusetts became their legal guardian and local pain in the ass. He was highkey abusive and we don’t like him. They moved to Elizabethtown, New Jersey in 1760, and Uncle Fuckface noticed that Burr had inherited his parents’ intellect, but not their piety, because he was too busy serving cunt to pray. He was also described as high-spirited, independent, precocious, and self confident, which sounds about right.

He had a fairly advanced education, studying with a private tutor until he was 13 when he got into Princeton, and he graduated from there at 16, which was round the age of most freshmen there, so that’s pretty sick. He enrolled in Reverend Joseph Bellamy’s school at Bethlehem, Connecticut in 1773 to study ministry, until he realized he couldn’t accept the Calvanist discipline nor avoid the distraction of the town, or maybe just got tired of the highly not okay gay relationship with Bellamy, so he moved to Litchfield, Connecticut in May 1774 to study law under his brother-in-law, Tapping Reeve. (Burr moves around so much, I never know where this mf is at any given point). \

Burr didn’t get his degree in law (yet *foreshadowing noise*) because his studies were interrupted by the revolution

The War *eagle screech and fireworks*

Burr joined the march on Quebec as an uncompensated “gentleman volunteer” in 1775. During the December 31 assault, he attempted to carry General Montgomery’s body back after he had been shot and killed by grapeshot, which won him an aide-de-campship to Washington’s staff. However, he was almost immediately reassigned to General Isreal Putnam because he didn’t like Washington’s office, which I can’t blame him because we all knew that shit was stressful. Washington also didn’t seem to like Burr much, but like Joseph Reed worked there, so Washington obviously wasn’t firing people bc he didn’t like them.

Under Putnam, he received a commission as a Lieutenant Colonel and commanded his own regiment, which was a vast improvement to the rank as one of Washington’s aides, because they weren’t considered actual Lt. Colonels and they were constantly at a desk, which Burr would not tolerate. He saw action at Monmouth, and his regiment suffered heavy casualties, and he was also ordered by Washington to determine future movements of the British in New York. He commanded troops at Westchester, NY, and imposed rigid discipline that brought order to the frontier outpost.

He resigned his commission in 1779 due to stress and exhaustion. This was a pretty great military career, and he was proud of it. People called him “Colonel Burr” even after his service.

After the war

He traveled often after leaving the army and continued his law studies. In 1782, he began his law practice and married Theodosia Bartow Prevost, a widow of a British officer he had been hardcore flirting with. Their wedding was actually unplanned, bc her sister was getting married and Burr was invited so they were like “why have two bitches get married when you can have four” so they had a cute little double wedding.

Burr moved to New York in November, 1783 after the British evacuation, along with Burr’s two stepsons and their infant daughter, who lavished special attention on his only child and supervised her education. If you want more info on Theodosia Jr., I answered an ask about here here.

Burr was an able lawyer, working mainly for non-whigs (loyalists/tories, neutral parties during the war). This worked in his favor and he rose to prominence. This is around when he began his famously neutral political philosophy, the whole “don’t let them know what you’re against or what you’re for” thing Lin Manuel Miranda is obsessed with.

He served a single term in the New York assembly during the 1784-85 session, and left public life until 1788, when he played a minor role in the NY debate over ratification of the Constitution. The Sons of Liberty (bc they’re still around apparently) considered Burr as a possible delegate to the ratification convention, but he declined. He had some reservations over the Constitution, but abandoned them when a majority of the states ratified it.

He supported Richard Yates along with Alexander Hamilton during the 1789 gubernatorial election. Yates was an anti-federalist and a friend who helped Burr win admission to the Bar (which btw there was this whole thing about Burr fighting so that college credits before the war didn’t have to be retaken after the war or whatever idk i can’t remember). Yates lost to George Clinton, who appointed Burr as attorney general in 1781, so he didn’t really lose anything.

Clinton also helped orchestrate Burr’s Senate election in 1791, unseating Philip Schuyler. Now, this did cause beef between him and Hamilton, like in the musical, but this wasn’t their first beef, especially since Burr dueled Hamilton’s brother-in-law soooooooo...

Also, during this time, Burr’s daughter, Sally, died in October 1788 at three years old and four months of an unspecified (i think) illness.

I kind of regret not doing more with the Ocarina of Time, and time travel in general. Like, towards the end, Link would definitely try to use it, right? I think I'm going to do a major overhaul of the Termina arc soon.

Link can cannot write more than his name.

Link was originally going to be very open about his past adventures. But i decided bottling everything up and feeling ashamed about it and letting it fester like a rotting wound would be sadder :)

sexuality was going to be a concept i explored in the fic. ultimately i wanted to keep it a T rating so i didn't do this, but. it was definitely a thing! cut things include lotsssss of Sheik baggage, boyish feelings about Kafei, weird fierce deity sex dreams and um. remember Javert?

Javert and Link wereeee... supposed to fuck! I even wrote a before and after scene LOLLL. Javert was going to play a more important role in general, being a semi-reoccurring character. He was planned to be Link's kind of """only friend""" in Castletown. Link was drawn to him because of how much older and experienced he was, and Javert took pity on Link, both in a sort of genuine but also kind of overbearing way. ultimately Link got annoyed by him pretty quickly and once he started to get to know Malon he basically ghosted him. another example of how Link struggles to balance relationships, especially those who really care for him. obviously i. didn't go further with this. but it was planned for about a year before I scrapped it. But i hope you reread their scene together to pick up on some vibes.....

since im already being disgusting um. bottom. praise kink. but he never really finds this out. how sad.

when i was first conceptualizing his character, i was actually going to write link as bipolar. okay so heres like all the things im going insane about in atsv its so disorganized im so sorry

spoilers for atsv

okay first off the mass amounts of color symbolism is insane

the fight with gwen and her dad where the color backgrounds kept switching to more and more contrasting colors to show that they were getting further and further apart emotionally the one part where gwen talks about her identity and how she has to hide it while acting fine WITH THE TRANS COLOR??? shes trans theyre all trans during the fight when the color backgrounds get closer and closer in shade to each other and then as everything falls apart again the background starts melting like watercolors its insane im going insane

and the clear color difference between earth42 and earth1610 is so amazing

earth42 is clearly more focused on purple and greens and theyre also even shaded differently too, earth1610 is shaded with halftone dots and colorful tones while earth42 focuses primarily on single colors with single directional hatching and comic book style shading (shading with straight up black rather than darker hues)

the fact that 42miles probably knows more spanish than 1610miles because he got closer with his mom after his dad died is heartbreaking

seeing the growth that miles has made in his 1 year, outsmarting literally the entire spidersociety with his plans and even beating some of them in combat its INSANE he's grown so much and while he's still a child he's also clearly grown and he knows his potential and worth

everyone has realistic motives that i can understand the reasoning behind and i also dont get the hate behind gwen she's just 15-16 and her only parental figure has just rejected her–of course she's going to follow miguel and jessica at first and then struggle with rejecting their ideals to support miles OF COURSE she is SHE'S A CHILD

i understand miguel's goals of the greater good but at the same time his need for control after losing all of it with the second universe clouds his judgement so intensely that he blames miles for all of it (also i noticed peter b parker was in miguel's second universe while it was collapsing???)

they both (miguel and miles) want to save people but they're going about it with different philosophies and i think it's because miguel has lost his way with what being spiderman really means

being spiderman means knowing ur not gonna be able to save everyone but still trying to save everyone anyways, and that's what miles embodies he knows he might not be able to save his dad but he wants to try anyways because if he just stood back and let it happen then there was everything he could've done and nothing he did do

miguel has forgotten in his grief that being spiderman means breaking conventional rules, never giving up nobody who tells you to and it's incredibly sad (and also kind of funny to see this like 50yo man send a manhunt for a 15yo teenager for not wanting his dad to die)

i think spiderman personally as the most human superhero purely because he's meant to a person anybody can imagine themselves as and people really can with the amount of different people, genders, ethnicities, etc you see in atsv!! the point of spiderman is to never give up and to always save people and although miguel intends to do those, he has given up on saving people in favor of what he would call "the greater good"

also the spot? i may be interpreting this wrong but i feel he's almost a parallel to miles

get your powers accidentally and not according to "canon events"

lose everything (miles, uncle aaron and the spot, like legitimately everything)

get new powers that you have no idea how to control and need to try and adapt to your life style

become incredibly powerful by learning to recognize your own potential and strength (as seen with miles' plan during the spidersociety chase and spot with the whole,, jesus fucking christ)

the difference between them is that miles recognized his potential and gained confidence through the support that he got from his dad saying that he will support him no matter what because he knows that miles can do it

meanwhile the spot got it specifically because the spiderpeople underestimated him, all making fun of him at first and even calling him "villain of the week" (or weak? i thought it was weak at first) and so he gets more powerful through spite, through the need to prove that he can be something despite having lost everything

and it's interesting to see how that also relates to miguel in a way

both losing quite literally everything and developing an intense and visceral need to control and dominate (men.) its amazing to see it

anyway, i feel like oomfs care about my opinion, so ill outline what i personally find to be the appeal of c0e is and if anyone wants to ask about it by any means is welcome to investigate such interest to their heart's content

it's probably a disorganized and unappealing list, because im not good at shopping things i like around, im not good at talking about what i like, but please believe in me. there's a fan translation on youtube, tbh the tone of it is a little flat (no its really flat), but it gets the job done for the most part. for untranslated parts? well.. idk... there are summaries im willing to point you to though

the cast is mostly adult and above 25. i feel like this isn't really an appeal point, or rather i feel like saying this is the same level of low tier bait as "theres rep!!!" but you know. i actually did enjoy this aspect enough to suggest it

the protagonist is kind of a sardonic hero, he is very curt and blunt. i like it a lot. but he's a good guy too.

for those who like SCP, there is an SCP-like element to the first quarter of the game i'm sure would tickle your fancy. it persists throughout, but most of the funny creatures are in the first quarter

the portrayal of the cult that the story is centered on and how its victims act is something i enjoyed very much. despite the horrific things that occurred, i feel for all of them*. from the point of view of outsiders. from the point of view of people who were there from the start. from the point of view of those who were born into it. from the point of view of newcomers. it is a master class in the subject matter imo.

my favorite character is an anime girl (26 year old man). he is very good and very cute and there's no way they let him suffer so much i might actually die

the thoroughline of generational trauma only gets deeper as you go down the story.

i like the body horror in it a lot.

there's a lot of violence. i like it.

there is a light element of cannibalism but it is not something that the story brings attention to. you're welcome to hallucinate about it with me though

low tier bait: there's a quirky scientist guy who is a little crazy

more low tier bait: there's catholic old man yaoi (actually its yuri to me. anyway)

it's a story with 30 different genres so it is bound to please someone. seriously the game is so twisty and turny

if you like the divine comedy there are like a million parallels to that on purpose. it is a direct and consist allusion in the story. even a part of the japanese title (神曲) is derived from the japanese title for the divine comedy. it is kind of based on it in a sense

Disorganized thoughts regarding splat3 story mode+ my agents. Perhaps not the best thoughts ever but heyyy *disclaimer i do not take some events too seriously i like comedy . And on the other i extrapolate on silly things tldr im sillay babey sorry for cringe rocking*

-The power eggs that callie gives harper are from either looking around like a dummy or entering some of the kettles and farming eggs on easy missions *orca voice* you are not an authoriz- "ah fuck off robot thing" it works out... somehow

-It was kinda easy to lose track of time because the artificial walls always were sunny so like. 1 week in and harper was p much convinced they were in here for a year somehow

-Ripley kinds of considers "captain" to be a pity title at some point cus thats when ppl started to be big on the idea of having ripley chill the fuck out and like . Do less work Lol. The reasons why theyre Sitting there the whole time almost is bc they were also technically meant to recover from an injury (so the captain cant talk bc theyre shy thing is like a quarter of a lie thing bc yeah they are a little and they mumble often but rn theyre straight up just exhausted Lol) but ultimately callie and marie are like eh Fuck it. we ball cmon captain do your thing re: building that machine thing+ fuzzy stuff elimination LOL . And then they get injured again oops.

- At the beginning of story mode ... harper is like: hey uh. How do we get out of here by the way... since we fell? From above?

No one answers them..

- After the Ending of storymode harper is very clear about 3 things :

1. hey callie hey marie i kind of feel scammed by your grandpa. Like i should be paid a little right. Like at least a little bit.

2. Madam captain person being. Sorry i dont know your name yet- oh its ripley. Ok ripley you are cool thank you for being nice to me while we were down there 👍.

(Spoilers!!)

ok ive only seen the eps once each and im going off of memory so a lot of this is probably gonna be paraphrased and mixed up but whatever . also this post is really fucking long lol sorry

-OK FIRST OFF THESE WERE SO GOOD RAAAAAH

-obviously we are in the farmworld, not surprised but very happy!!!

-also not very surprised fionna and cake immediately went along with simon’s plan

-the whole time they were talking about where to find a crown i was like lol. simon don’t look behind you

-cake bringing fionna a dead rat was really funny

-the versucci gag or whatever was also really good

-but what made me die was fionna talking abt how she’s played a lot of post apocalyptic rpgs and then it pans over to “man who has actually lived through the apocalypse”

-was really cool to see how the farmworld has developed after what happened with ice finn, i think it’s interesting how they’re more technologically advanced since the first time an ice age happened in this world they pretty much reverted to medieval times (does that make sense. you know what i mean)

-i was SO convinced jay was farmworld finn’s little sibling so when he said dad my heart stopped

-the name jay didn’t immediately click until bonnie was revealed to be one of his other kid’s name and i was like HOLY SHIT PUHOY???

-veeeery interesting since assumingely golb destroyed/erased the pillow world

-i guess you could just chalk it up to finn would have named his kids the same thing in any universe?

-but i mean speaking of his kids GOD he got busy with huntress wizard

-i mean it has to be huntress wizard. one of them looks just like human hunter wizard

-idk what happened there i sure hope not

-i really don’t know if we’re going to revisit these worlds in any capacity considering the amount of time left but i hope we do now!! i feel like we need to see what happens lmao

-wasn’t really expecting it to open on “fionna world” as they started calling it

-i was wondering how they were gonna balance gumball and marshall yaoi with what’s going on with the main trio

-they did it really well though i think

-i also wasn’t really expecting to be introduced to winter king right away once we got back to the main plot

-he definitely gave me weird vibes right from the start im gonna be honest lol

-blaah i don’t really remember what happens between that and the winter wonder world sequence

-so ill just talk about that. holy fuck

-every review i read before the show came out was really hyping this scene up and i get why now

-was really cool to see the beyond the grotto animation again and the song was so good it’s still stuck in my head

-but the moment the winter king said he overcame the crown with sheer will i was like. um. im calling bs

-i was just thinking however it did happen though i have a bad feeling about! felt really bad for simon and when he said that he sucked i was like. oh no ☹️ dude

-the moment i saw little ice marcy pretty much cemented it for me i was like oh no something fucked up is happening here. tbh i still can’t really figure out what happened with that but given what the winter king said about making an ice betty. uhhhhhhhhhh

-simon saying that he wanted to “fix her” while the winter king just wanted to kill her was really interesting. im trying to figure out what it means lol. like we know that simon wants to be the ice king again but also now knowing he would want to fix and save someone from that madness…idk

-her song was really good

-her playing those ominous notes on her keyboard made me laugh

-i haven’t really talked about gumball (im not calling him gary im sorry) and marshall. i thought they were really cute!!! could definitely see marcy and pb meeting in a similar way

-the juxtaposition between gumball talking about his creations to fionna fighting the fucked up versions of them was really cool

-i hope gumball doesn’t take what the lemoncarbs said to heart . they’re just like that

-ok so. I was honestly more shocked that fionna kissed (a version of) simon than him disintegrating seconds after lmaooooo

-i have to wonder why he immediately died here when in betty (the episode) he was dying relatively slowly without the crown’s magic

-ive been writing down a bunch of crack theories and the first thing ive gotten right was the winter king transferring his craziness to pb lol lets goooo

-i was thinking that simon might’ve transferred it himself but then i was like nooo he wouldn’t do that….apparently he would do that

-idk despite how he seemed i think the winter king was still a little insane in the membrane.

-maybe the crown was still influencing him in some way? and that’s the message here? idk

-i can’t believe bi fionna is real

-back to gumball and marshall. gumball describing slumber party panic……oh my jod 🥺🥺🥺

-the baby world was so cute

this is an incredibly random series of thoughts borne of me spinning tpg 42-4 around in my brain (as one does) i am so sorry for how disorganized this is going to get

[edit: i am so sorry for how long this got 😭😭]

“Taken over?” Nanami parrots, and he’s got a bad, bad feeling about this. “By what?”

it's so interesting that nanami uses 'what' rather than 'who' in tpg 42's first question about sukuna, because that framing kinda ties into the fact that until bullying sukuna club starts, the ff perceives him as a monster, a villain from a fairy tale -- and understandably so, because that's all his actions have shown. and this snippet reinforces this idea:

What can Nanami even say? Calling Sukuna a monster is beyond the word pointless.

because at this point, all sukuna is is the one who's nearly killed both his sons and his best friend's husband

“To hear the helpless screams of burning lungs, watching weak insects abandon others in attempt to save themselves...then of course, the really annoying ones try to save everyone.” Sukuna’s hyena grin turns bitter. “I hate heroes.”

OOOOH this is interesting. hold on im gonna talk/theorize more about this later

so. in 42 and 43, all we see are what sukuna says and does, tying into him being mostly framed as either a monster or a comic relief-type character/the butt of the joke; there are hints of sukuna's Tragic Backstory present, but they're fairly vague so far

and then. 44. aka the one where we actually get into sukuna's head. before i even begin pointing out specific quotes, it's so interesting how you've managed to completely flip the readers' perceptive on sukuna, from something that matches the ff's to a more nuanced? view, where the effects of the tragedy that made him who he is today are more clearly visible

Sukuna is stronger than him, of course, and their circumstances aren’t entirely alike, but they’re similar enough to make Sukuna’s skin crawl. And it’s not even his own skin. The man is too naive. If he ain’t careful, history’s gonna repeat itself.

this terrifies me, but it's also making me think of some of the Backstory Theories from the tpg discord hmmmmmmm [sound of thoughts bouncing around my brain like the dvd logo]

‘He’s here! Everyone run! I’ll hold him off!’ ‘But you’ll die!’ ‘Just go!’

OHHHHHH this reminds me of this quote from getou pov in tpg 22:

‘Please,’ one of them had begged, clutching the hem of his crimson-soaked pants. ‘You can kill me, but please spare my son--’

which i think is particularly interesting for two reasons: 1) getou and sukuna parallels 2) idk if this was intentional (knowing you it probably was) but a significant portion of getou's arc past that point ^ has to do with his son, and his own concept of son-hood (is that a word 💀) in regards to both his birth parents and touji. is it possible that sukuna's backstory/future character development has to do with the concept of heroism?

DONT APOLOGIZEEEE I LOVE LONG COMMENTS AND LONG MESSAGES AND EVERYTHING especially when it's about sukuna. i could deadass talk about him for DAYS and it wouldnt be enough. hes my special.

anyway--

you hit on a lot of interesting points here!! framing sukuna as "what" rather than "who" in nanami's first question was deliberate, a way to contrast how unexpected sukuna's incarnation was. "who" usually indicates some degree of sentience or personification, something almost every curse severely lacks. so right off the bat, the fam wasn't ready for what was about to befall them.

nanami's perception of sukuna is exceptionally bad, especially since his sons were sukuna's major victims. but he realized that in order for toge to stop being afraid of his own brother, a somewhat, uh, unconventional approach would be necessary: thus, bullying sukuna club was born.

it's also important to note that despite treating him like a joke and laughing at his dramatic, violent declarations, the fam actually does still very much see him as a monster. they're doing this because they know it's the only way they can actually get to him, especially since fear and others' terrified perceptions of him are part of what makes him so damn strong. so they laugh at him because it's far better than the alternative -- that said, if one doesn't think about the fact that he's actually carried out the atrocities he colorfully monologues about, they are kinda funny.

.......aaaand then we see the inside of sukuna's head and realize oh no, this is an incredibly self-aware, sad, wet man who desperately needs a hug but would kill (almost) anyone who actually tried to give him one. yet there are still traces of that monster in his thoughts, since that's what Tragic Backstory made him become.

also aughh yeah, getou and sukuna parallels were DEFINITELY intentional. those two have a lot in common, and as 43 revealed there are many parallels with gojo too. you were right to pick up on the notes of sukuna's revulsion towards heroics: perhaps it's something he struggled with in the past. we shall see.......

while getou's redemption arc had much to do with atonement, i'd say sukuna's is about healing. this man has really, really been thru it. sometimes i wonder if his backstory is too sad but at this point we're in too deep

Do you have any tips/advice for getting parents to believe you when it comes to mental illness/neurological disorders?

SO sorry this was like the third ask i EVER got back in like JANUARY you probably wont even see this but im going to give some advice anyway in case you do or other people do.

make a list. a really, really extensive list. list out each part of the criteria, and under each part, every single way you can think of that you fit it. once you've done that, also list any common symptoms that aren't necessarily part of the criteria that you have. explain why you think you have this, not that, or this AND that. (e.g. "i have schizoid PD, not autism, because [X]" or "i have ADHD and OCD, because [X]". don't forget to list how it affects your life, too; a lot of these disorders have "must cause impairment in life functioning" or a similar statement in their diagnostic criteria. additionally, you want to dispel common myths ("girls can't be autistic" "psychosis is always obvious" "BPD is a girl thing" "ADHD is just being hyperactive" "you can only have psychosis if you're schizophrenic"), so your parents aren't operating on the wrong ideas.

to show how this would look: let's pretend you have schizophrenia and want to get your parents to help you pursue diagnosis (or even just believe you).

you would list the first bullet point of the DSM requirements out (having 2 out of 5 of blah blah blah stuff for X amount of time, 1 or more being 1, 2, or 3 on the list), show how many you had--e.g., hallucinations (number 2), disorganized speech, and negative symptoms for 8 months.

then you'd do the same thing with point 2, proving that your level of functioning since the onset was lower than your level of functioning pre-onset. lower grades, difficulty with self-care, difficulty in interpersonal relationships, etc. You'd also probably list this with point 3, proving the difficulty has persisted for at least 6 months, with at least 1 month of symptoms.

you'd then show that you've ruled out schizoaffective disorder and depressive or bipolar disorder w/psychotic features (alternate diagnoses). this would be basically "here's a list of why i'm NOT just bipolar/depresssed/etc". You'd also then talk about how it's NOT drug related/induced.

Then, you would list a variety of common schizophrenia traits that you've experienced since when you think onset started. After that, you'd list some common myths ("schizophrenia makes you violent" "hallucinations are always super super vivid" & the like) and why they aren't true.

Hopefully, if you went through all that, they'd be able to understand it. if they didn't, I'd suggest talking to a school counselor/therapist, but those are... varying in how helpful they are.

Obviously that doesn't just work for schizophrenia, you can use that process for most disorders, I just used it bc I had the DSM open (I read it for fun. don't ask) near the schizophrenia page.

i actually used to be a really bad student. disorganized, forgetful, very little interest in things academic. but then i got more into reading and English as a class and something flipped. i've written original work over the years, but fanfiction is my most favorite creative outlet. i really believe you have to read a lot (and include a variety of authors to read) in order to be a good writer.

🪙 Metal: What’s the hardest part of writing for you?

For me, it's second guessing myself. I love analyzing character choices and motivations, or how those character actions reflect the overall themes, but then I overthink my conclusions and worry i'm just projecting my own 😭

☁️ Clouds: How clearly do you picture a scene before you start writing it down?

Depends on the scene. Maybe the scene comes to me first, and I know exactly what's going to happen. But then sometimes I have a hazy idea of the scene from my outline, and we all just get in the car together and see where it takes us.

I'm curious what you think would happen to the world if Gideon had gotten the two journals. Would Stan have ever been able to bring Ford back? Would Bill have been able to start Wierdmagedon? Because the whole reason Bill gets involved is because Dipper stops Gideon.

Then he'd... would he have even tried to become mayor? With the amulet the townspeople probably would have made him mayor eventually anyway. But do you think Gideon would be satisfied with Gravity Falls and the Mystery Shack alone? Would Gideon eventually bring Ford back?

this might be a bit disorganized, sorry- just getting out all my thoughts as they happen. did try to answer them in order though!

to answer the first one- gideon did actually have two of the journals at one point! he stole journal 3 for dipper in gideon rises and then promptly had them stolen back by stan

you mentioned the amulet, so in this scenario, he probably either got another journal early or the amulet never broke. regardless, I think everything could still play out relatively the same? mostly the same, anyway.

which. actually, he could very much still lose his journals again in this scenario- we’ll just turn this into an au where that simply doesn’t happen! we’re also gonna say the townsfolk never find out he was spying on them in this au

since we’re ignoring everything he does regarding mabel, i won’t talk much about gideonland

anyway- stan was mostly done with the portal by the time mabel and dipper come to the shack, so he almost definitely could’ve finished it without the other two journals. it would just take longer (possibly long enough that he only gets it open after the kids head home which would be a really interesting fic to read on its own-)

that’s only if gideon never takes over the shack, though. stan can’t fix the portal if he’s not even there and this is an especially bad situation for him because he just kicked out. again.

whether or not bill starts weirdmaggedon really depends on whether or not gideon is actually able to get the portal started. highly doubt he’d be able to get fiddleford’s help with it-

bill could probably tell gideon about the basement, though. ‘oh, you want to know the code? let’s make a deal :)’ maybe something gideon would summon him again for (which also brings up the question of if stan brought journal 1 with him or not- or if he even had time to grab it)

it would take even longer for gideon to start up the portal. he’s a ten year old kid, no way he’d be able to figure it out unless it was a bill possessing gideon situation. bideon. bud might be able to help a bit, but his mechanical know-how probably wouldn’t get them too far on their own- they don’t know theoretical physics like stan does

so either bill makes a deal and finishes the portal himself, or he convinces gideon to somehow get stan back working on it again

(doubt bill could convince stan to do it on his own. stan saw the state ford was in before getting stuck in the portal, he saw the triangle imagery everywhere, he does not trust this at all)

anyway, mayor stuff! im not sure if gideon actually could run for mayor, since he’s ten. bud did run for mayor that one time though, so it’s possible gideon could have his dad keep up the appearance of being mayor, while he’s really the one pulling the strings

(never watched that episode much, so i don’t actually remember if that’s what happened. gideon making bud run for mayor, i mean)

the townspeople do love gideon’s whole shtick though, so who knows, maybe he could actually run for mayor. at the very least, if bud focused his campaign around gideon, it’s very likely he’d win

during gideon’s whole speech about the journals, he specially says that if they were brought together, they could ‘open a gateway to unimaginable power’. he also imagines himself towering over the town with fire behind him during part of that, so y’know? maybe he’s into weirdmaggedon (talk about foreshadowing)

anyway, it seems gideon’s mainly after power here, so running for mayor does seem like something he’d be interested in. also seems like he likes a bit of destruction, so that too.

would he be satisfied with just the town and the shack? probably not- he would still very much want to ruin the lives of the pines family even more. he’d also still be after mabel (which we won’t be going into detail about because you said you were ignoring that part for this)

gideon clearly admires the author, so if he found out that said author was currently trapped in the portal, he probably would make an attempt to bring him back. as for how he’d figure that out- either bill giving him incentive to open the portal or. stan. however that turns out.

either way- regardless of the specifics i do think that this would make for a really interesting au. especially in regards to what would happen with stan and also gideon trying to open the portal

before i start, i just want to clarify that i dont really have an opinion on the word "irl" (as an identity) other than that its just really confusing and unnecessary. i only have a very slightly negative bias going into this.

i should also preface this post by saying that "irl" doesn't have an official coining that i, or anyone in any of my alterhuman circles can find or knows of. which is why we see people claiming it "is or isnt X," because nobody truly knows. the origins of this specific use of "irl" are most likely untraceable because we've been using "irl" as slang for over 10 years on the internet, and this alternate use came up within the last couple years

TLDR: 3/10. poor wording + a lot of commonly made mistake misinfos.

oh no... i really dont like this wording. "claim their delusions are real." eugh, it just. i really dont like it. most delusional people i've met on the internet double book keep enough that we recognize our delusions arent "real." at least, not to everyone, only to us. the way this is worded makes it seem like we're deliberately lying or trying to convince other people that we're correct, when this doesnt really happen. i know this is nit-picky and most likely not how they intended to word this, but thats how its worded and its just.. its not good it makes me feel gross.

so it's an unecessary re-branding of spiritual Otherkinity? also, psychosis can absolutely be spiritual. religious and spiritual delusions are very very much A Thing, as are religious and spiritual hallucinations

they talk about how psychosis isn't a disorder, it's an umbrella term for a bunch of symptoms, which is true. but they get the specific symptoms wrong though. the correct symptoms are hallucinations, delusions, catatonia, disorganized thoughts and speech (positive symptoms,) and negative or cognitive symptoms. social isolation and paranoia are not psychosis symptoms, but they can be related to psychosis in individuals. very accidental and small misinfo here, not deliberate at all

nit-picky again, but a lot of their wording about delusional people makes it seem like they really don't like delusional people which is sort of icky. they later confirm they themselves are psychotic so i really dont understand this attitude of "im better than other delusionals." the harm delusions cause isn't always apparent to the people living in them. while it's technically true that delusions must cause harm, we don't always know that. it's not black and white enough to say "if your delusions dont cause you harm you're not delusional" & be completely correct, so it's best not to say anything about it at all if you're not going to delve into nuance

this type of delusion is not called a delusional misidentification. what the hell is up with these people and bastardizing DMS? it's. the wikipedia... it's generally easy to use google. if google isn't easy to use for you, you shouldnt be making educational carrds to begin with /gen. this type of delusion would be categorized as a bizarre/non-specified delusion, aka, miscellaneous. for the millionth time, delusional misidentification syndrome is an umbrella term which encompasses delusions that all follow a similar theme. delusional misidentification syndrome is not identifying as an anime character.

the bottom bit about recommendations for coping with difficult delusions isn't medical advice btw, so i'm not clocking it. it's more like self-help. whether or not its effective i dont know and i dont care, its not really important

yes! very cool. i agree with this. the acceptance and encouragement of delusions can make them worse or more difficult to treat in the future. acceptance should be viewed as a last resort in coping

this is another nitpicky thing but a lot of the language they used is overly personable, which feels a little manipulative. like, i don't need your permission to disagree with you. you dont need to reassure me it's fine to disgaree with you. i dont need your approval, internet stranger. the overly personable language (through the whole carrd) makes me feel like they're trying to coerce me into something or convince me of something?

i dont think its intentional.. i think its just they way they talk - like im not accusing them of Literally Being Manipulative. but when you're writing educational carrds, it's best to leave Yourself out of it as much as you can. cuz now i feel untrusting about this carrd, which isn't what the author wants

THIS IS GOING TO BE VERY DISORGANIZED SORRY but basically um. HOW TO START i think in ashe's scenario its very telling about claire's character that she's willing to literally give up her life and rip her heart out of her chest for sirius who is a man who has literally only been mean to her for the few days she remembers him.. she has a very strong belief that people are naturally good and that they deserve second chances when they do wrong and she very much believes in not only sirius' but EVERYONE being good at their core (NOT SAYING SHES WRONG.. sirius is definitely not a bad person at all especially at his core and claire can tell even if she doesn't remember him) which is one of her greatest strengths and weaknesses because it pulls her into trouble again and again 😭 her personality and morals are definitely a big part of why the story is specifically happening to her because if it was like. ashe with the witch's heart the story might not have even happened so her character is a HUGE part of the plot because even in the bonus stage when she is shown cold evidence that people have taken advantage of her and murdered her again and again she can't bring herself to hold it against them

EMPATHY IS NOT REQUIRED TO BE A GOOD PERSON WHO CARES ABOUT PEOPLE AT ALL BTW YOU CAN NOT BE EMPATHETIC AND STILL BE A KIND AND CARING PERSON/GEN but empathy is probably one of claire's greatest tools and she's very naturally inclined to put herself in other's peoples shoes and see their perspecitves even if she doesnt necessarily agree with them LIKE the scene in sirius' conclusion where he talks about how hes afraid of people even though she disagrees with him she still tries to understand his persoective and doesnt shut him down and offers her own perspective instead.. also in the bonus stage when she learns everyone's backstory she immediately understands where theyre coming from and why theyre trying to kill her which makes her forgive them even more than she already did.. THERES SO MUCH MORE but claire is such a good character and she is written so well and i lvoe her so much 🙏🙏🙏shes just like me fr...
