It was so cute how excited the cupbros were to see each other again. Like they were so happy they squealed. Twice.

Also, it was nice to see some genuine apologies and gratitude after a handful of episodes with the brothers at each other’s throats.

When comedies are done well, the more serious or sentimental moments feel all the more emotional because they stand out. And I definitely feel like that’s the case here — throughout a lot of this episode, really.

#idk they’re cute and their bond w chalice is really cute too #i loved all the hugs and wholesomeness in these batch of episodes #the cuphead show #cuphead #mugman #ik some ppl didn’t like how this ep ended w a gag #but i don’t feel like it cheapened anything. maybe cause that’s what i expected to happen? lol #it’s a silly show. you’re not supposed to take everything that happens seriously #i didn’t go into this show expecting to really care about these characters beyond the comedy they provide #so I’m pleasantly surprised every time it manages to tug on my heart strings a bit #cartoons exaggerate a lot. they take that ‘I’m so angry i could strangle you’ feeling and make it literal #but even though the cupbros have attempted to like violently injure each other #w cartoon violence #i never once doubt that they love each other #i never feel like they don’t #so you know like kudos to the team for pulling that off and making me care about these characters beyond their wacky jokes #ig is what I’m saying

are we gonna talk about how the shadow virus seemed to be growing out from dapper’s lab- or more was possibly attempting to grow into it? there was already some present in there before when dapper had left the sign message

but that living suit of armor was seen cleaning it all up. the lab was spotless

what’s the deal with this armor. bonnie the felsteed put it on the stand there, it’s dapper’s old set that they are currently unable to wear for some reason, but she doesn’t even know it’s alive. did it get possessed? by what? how does it know to protect the lab?

hey y’all i finally got to watch the NPMD proshot!!

It was just as amazing as it was through the digital ticket if not even fuckin better!!!

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the editing, too. When I first saw how close up this one was filmed, I didn’t really know how to feel.. I kinda like the way the DTs are filmed a bit better know.. you can see more of the stage and just more of Everything..

like,, the way black friday was filmed kinda disappointed me back when that first came out. don’t get me wrong, it’s done SO well,, but it didnt give me as much of the stage as I wanted. I couldn’t see everyone so it just didn’t feel as On Stage Musical as i wanted yknow.

However!! somehow npmd didn’t give me that vibe. I thought it was actually filmed like. perfectly for what it is. i LOVE the amount of detail we could see on max and the lords in black (wardrobe went OFFF y’all!!!!) and also. the EXPRESSIONS !!!!! joey and mariah were killing me the entire time :)

idk. maybe it was just the right amount of balance between close up and far back enough that i could still see everything i wanted to. anyway that’s my thoughts,,

Spoilers For Final Episodes!

Tbh I’m kinda disappointed in these last two episodes. I knew that we would end the series with Simon and Fionna learning to be happy, but I felt like it went too fast.

I’m glad my accession of how Betty sacrificing everything for Simon was something that came back, and Simon actually learned that Betty sacrificed so much for him while he just let it happen.

Very cool that we got to see Beth and Shermy again, but I’m still confused on how Shermy and Simon were both in his head? And why Simon was naked for some reason??

I am glad on the direction they decided to take Fionna’s world, in how she made a wish for it to be real or for everyone to have their wish(which is what I’m assuming is implied as she never says it). I really do wish that they let Simon put on the crown and for Fionna’s nightmare to actually become real, as I feel it would’ve made the last episodes feel more active and led to her and Simons realization in a more direct way.

I honestly don’t get why Simons voice actor said it would be heartbreaking in the 9th episode as it really wasn’t. Even in the last episode it was pretty tame and didn’t feel as bittersweet as I felt it should’ve for the topic the show decided to address.

Also really wish Betty and Simon had more than like 3 sentences said between them, as it felt like Simon and Betty really didn’t get closure. It kinda seemed like Simon decided he was worth living for when the episode really wasn’t about that? It was about how Simon loved Betty but they weren’t on equal footing in terms of commitment so Betty agreed with Simon, even if it put them both in a bad place in the end.

They didn’t even show how it would’ve been different, which you could agree is the point of “well that’s not what happened”, but it just felt lacklustre with the rest of the context.

I feel bad because I REALLY liked this show and the rest of the episodes. The end just didn’t have the right kick to it and didn’t really make sense. Like why did we have the random characters show up to live in Fionna’s world, and we didn’t even get a glimpse of Finn or Marcy in Simons ending? I was thinking they would do a montage at the end with what happened in the universes we left, but I guess it does leave it open for a season 2. I’m of course glad that Simon and Fionna were able to feel happy in their worlds again, but still.

I honestly wasn’t that stoked about a season 2 unless the ending for this season wasn’t the best, so I guess I’ll just hope season 2 gets created.

It’s funny to me because 90% of the criticisms I see trying to rip apart Dream’s video are just like “well this one piece of evidence he showed isn’t the strongest” like yeah girl it’s not, that’s why it’s accompanied by 12 other much stronger pieces of evidence that you’re deliberately choosing to ignore .
