I don't know what suddenly made people feel comfortable with vaping anything or smoking weed in non-smoking areas just because it's "not a cigarette" but you all need to get uncomfortable again. An airborne irritant is an airborne irritant. It doesn't matter that it's "safer than smoking" or "just weed" or even "just flavoring and no nicotine". Smell sensitivities don't care. Migraines don't care. Allergies don't care. Asthma doesn't care. Lung issues don't care. Don't smoke or vape indoors except in your own house or a designated smoking area. If you need to smoke or vape outside move to a sparsely populated area, make sure no one is directly downwind of you, and do your thing. I'm not asking people not to smoke or vape in general, that would be hypocritical, I use medical marijuana myself. Just please consider than non-cigarette smoke and vapor is not harmless and apply the same rules to yourself that are applied to people who smoke cigarettes.

If you get any nosebleeds you can put a tiny bit of petroleum jelly in your nose to keep things from drying out, and lip balm is a good idea too. Sunglasses won’t save your eyes completely but they do help if you have to go outside!

Any yard work or exercise can WAIT. Going for a run WILL hurt you. If your house is too smoky, turn on your air conditioning (if you have it) and go to a shopping centre for the day. I think they opened the cooling centres in Ottawa which is apparently getting hit super hard so you can also head there to get a break!

He’s got a pack of cigarettes he takes out of his pocket in 1989, a cigar in 1889, and I have not a doubt in my mind he had a snuff box on him somewhere in 1789 and that he was a pipe smoker in 1589 given it was a fashionable social indulgence at that time (King James I would be one of the first outspoken anti-smoking skeptics in the early 1600s).

I could see him having quit to keep up with the times in 2022 but then again, that is a very long habit to break and it’s not like it will kill him. He probably took up vaping instead.
