MY favourite bleach head canons in no particular order

1. the idea that all shinigami in gigai give off uncanny valley vibes

Basically like Isshin, whose not quite human but not quite shinigami, meets some of Ichigo’s friends when he was a kid like Tatsuki and she obviously met his mom before and she was nice so she wasn’t expecting much from his dad and then she meets him and her first reaction is ‘what the fuck is that???’

The kurosaki kids, who have grown up with their dad and have pretty high levels of reiatsu, don’t actually realize this while their human friends just instinctually avoid Isshin ‘cause they feel like something’s off about him

of course over time and with extended exposure to Ichigo’s reiatsu, the weirdness kinda fades away but anyone outside of Ichigo’s circle generally avoids all the shinigami that come to Karakura in gigai for those reasons

2. all animals hate shinigami except cats and crows

literally for no reason besides the fact that I like them

I love the idea of shinji with his creepy ass smile just perched on top of a telephone pole and if he stays still long enough, crows will start sitting on him XD

I also have cats that I love and I love the idea of Ichigo just chilling on his bed with an orange cat and doing the purring thing with it while he’s sleeping

And then when he goes to a pet store with Rukia because she wants to see bunnies, all the animals go ballistic anf they get kicked out XD

3. the visored + ichigo with animalistic traits

laying down on hot things because it feels nice on their skin and soothes something in their lizard brains

eyes that flash hollow yellow when they feel intense emotion (inspired the scene in the anime where Aizen says that hollowification is faster when agitated so emotions heavily affect their appearance

I like the idea that they get very tactile with people they care about (not in a romantic way) and they get into little wrestling matches over stupid stuff because that’s they’re idea of playing and bonding

Shinji gives cat vibes, you can’t even tell me he doesn’t just look at him. When cats make eye contact as they push something off the table- that’s him

I also really like the idea of the hollowification affecting their zanpakuto. Given that Ichigo was pretty much born with his hollow, he doesn’t notice the different the way the Visored do

Shinji’s whole standing upside down and reversing the gravity on himself, I like the idea that it came after his hollowification and if he wishes he can do it to others

Idk if there’s any jjk manga readers her but you know that attack kenjaku has where he makes you feel like you’re falling but you’re not really? He does it to Yuji a few times when he’s fighting mahito and I love the idea of Shinji having that ability, just completely fucking up their sense of reality and direction

I haven’t thought of the other visored abilities but from my other AU that I will never write, I mentioned that Kaien was hollowified as well so I love the idea of him just being completely obsessed with everything water related and having an affinity for any water type kido and being able to control minor amounts of water without actually drawing Nejibana and being able to breath under water

4. all zanpakuto spirits do commentary in their weilders head

but only ppl like Ichigo and Toushiro who have incredibly powerful spirits that they can literally talk to in the middle of a fight can actually hear

Like Zabimaru, haineko, and all the other zanpakuto are just constantly making fun or nitpicking the way their weilder uses them

But Ichigo is the only one who has to suffer through Zangetsu (Shiro) cackling in his head while Toushiro gets useful feedback and Ichigo’s just completely done with him

a sadder headcanon: all zanpakuto spirits talk to their weilders regularly however, the Visored because of their own fear of their hollowification have estranged themselves from their zanpakuto spirits and like Shiro is hostile with Ichigo in canon, the others are like ten times worse

5. If Ichigo every actually seals his zanpakuto, he’d be incredibly sensitive to reiatsu (I forgot to add this one the first time and I didn’t wanna make another post XD)

I personally love this little explanation of Ichigo’s powers and you know how Ichigo is just really shitty at sensing reiatsu at the beginning? Shinji commented on it a couple times and seemed pretty confused by it.

I think that part of the reason why he’s so bad at it-- especially after the SS arc ‘cause remember he was actually pretty good at sensing back then-- is because after he achieved Bankai, Hollow Zangetsu was in control rather than OMZ and with that switch in power came a significant uptick in his own reiatsu to the point where Ichigo actually feels like he’s being crushed by his own power and he can feel how close Shiro is for the first time and he’s actually scared of his own power

Hiyori even comments about how he’s scared of his own bankai because the distance between him and Shiro decreases everytime he gets stronger since Shiro gets stronger with him

Anyways, we’re not devolving into an analysis about Ichigo and Shiro but eventually Ichigo learns how to sense things properly even with his own reiatsu

So when he finally seals Zangetsu and he’s no longer covered by his own power because it’s finally sealed, he’s gonna be sensing things so much stronger and get sensory overload only it’s ✨reiatsu sensitivity✨

6. Souls in the Society age until they find an appearance both they and their reiatsu level is comfortable with (Another one because I’m an idiot and I forgot)

Excluding Toushiro’s weird case of appearanc shifting but I guess that could be attributed to his bankai’s weirdness that I don’t know much about

I don’t think we’ve gotten on actual explanation on how souls age so I’ve decided to apply this hc

Basically the reason why ppl like Unohana, who looks incredibly similar to herself from a thousand years ago, the only difference being how much less sinister she looks and how calm she looks

Plus, all the characters from the Turn back the pendulm arc barely changing over a hundred years is wild

I initially thought of it as comparing every decade a soul lives to ever year a human lives but that didn’t feel right so I chose this

awww it's Magnus and Abigail's wedding anniversary that's cute

also anniversary dinner is not where i thought the plot of this book was gonna go ngl

tbh i don't think Harrow's wrong to be worried, even if she's a little over-paranoid - i don't think they're gonna actually murder everyone or anything, but feels like there might be an ulterior motive to having everyone in one place, like intel/information gathering

'pale brown, long coated suit' Magnus is David Tennant circa 2006 confirmed

i love Magnus and his stupid puns, him and Abigail are pretty sweet as well

i got this sense for a while, but Abigail being a 'spirit-talker' confirms necromancy is more than just about physically raising the dead via bones like Harrow does

this meal is making me hungry, it actually sounds pretty good

'Gideon knew a boring conversation when she heard one' it probably says something about me that i found the conversation about fictional archival work actually very interesting

'purple, slightly chewy wine' umm what, Gideon idk how to tell you that is not a normal texture for wine

Jeannemary making Gideon flex to see whose biceps are bigger is absolutely killing me

she's quickly become one of my favourite characters, and she's getting so much focus in scenes i have a feeling something terrible is gonna happen to her sooner or later 🙃

this book is also making me crave green tea

'what Gideon knew to be an expression of animal cunning' yeah, Dulcinea is a lot smarter and seemingly manipulative than she outwardly lets on - and she got cut off twice just before she let Gideon in on what she's theorising about this competation 😭

first of all last chapter broke my heart but in a way i'm still happy about it?? i expected something when you said dream was being his usual asshole self but unfortunately i did not see this coming!!

i am once again agreeing with cori that wanderer should run away and hang out with him the whole time instead (ignoring dream's repercussions but whatever!!) it was adorable how corinthian hangs out on wanderer's island now, very fitting with how there would always be a friend waiting for her there!! speaking of- the island stays right?? dream doesn't get so angsty that he destroys even that?? bc i would actually be down with murder if so

i've been doing very quick maths (which i suck at, so correct me if i'm wrong) but isn't the year wanderer is ordered to leave the same year that dream gets pissy and tells hob he doesn't need or want friends?? if so, does it by any chance influence each other?? also are we going to have any interactions between hob and wanderer bc i love them both sm and i'd love to see it :))

also i NEED to see death tear dream a new one for being Like That™ to her friend!! will we see reactions from some of dream's siblings in the future or is that going to be left to our imagination??

either way- it was an amazing chapter, as always!! this is honestly my favourite fanfic of sandman- idk their companionship feels so authentic to the themes of the sandman and it'd honestly fit right in the story and i'm invested enough that it feels like something is missing when wanderer isn't actually in canon :// anyhow- i hope you have a lovely day today <33

yes, Corinthian is that friend whose always waiting with a smile (or a smirk in this case) to meet Wanderer whenever she arrives. He probs considers it the only place where he can unwind without a shadow looming over him because unlike the rest of the Dreaming, Wanderer Island comes half from Wanderer, so it adores Corinthian as much as the source does.

no, Dream physically couldn’t bring himself to destroy the island, but would write it off as “it’s part of the dreaming and mortals go to it often and it was created for a purpose yadayada” aka man is denial and looking for a reason not to destroy last remnant of Wanderer because it’s all he has left. the island is effected by what happened between them tho 👁

yes, both fallouts happen around the same time. which comes first, I’ll leave up to you to decide, but they do directly impact one another. Dream said: ruining my life on speed run ig. also yes, Wanderer and Hob will definitely meet and I think you guys will like them a lot. I’m personally in love with their dynamic in my head.

you will see Death’s & Desire’s reactions (still holding back from writing other Endless until I get to them in the comics because I want to do them justice) but eventually if/when I do other extras after tibyim is done, you might get glimpses. most def had reactions to it, quite interesting too.

coming to your ask box to tell you that what you said about kuwana being protective of yagami is real and true actually. if kuwana weren't so busy trying to keep himself safe, he'd be doing more to try and keep yagami out of this (though he also desperately wants to be with him more). kuwana knows that yagami can handle a few scratches (and an explosion apparently, lmao) but he would take it very personally if anything ever happened to yagami ....i think. perhaps we're having shared delusions

yeah. though, he knew if he just went and disappeared without letting yagami know where he's going, it would kinda slow his process of getting into shit and endangering himself, even if for a bit. if kuwana actively and purposely involved him into everything, yagami would be in much more trouble i think. killing him was always an afterthought for RK, but if he'd be involved with kuwana more, well... it just paints a target on his back. and yagami wouldn't try to hide. he has ties to other people, he has something to lose.

so pushing yagami away and out of this all was a bit "two birds with one stone" kind of situation

though he also desperately wants to be with him more

yeah lol, i just realized that when kuwana gives him the pendant so he'd help ehara, he says that yagami is the only one he can trust with it, and like, really? you have lots of accomplices whose actions you can literally control, jeez, man xD

and of course kuwana suspected (or anticipated) that yagami would use this against ehara, so there's that also. but. his motivations are a mess, so we can be a little delusional about this as well i think

and an explosion apparently, lmao

explosion is nothing compared to all injuries yagami suffered in the end of JE, kuwana figured, he can survive a little explosion <3 it'd be good for him <3

but he would take it very personally if anything ever happened to yagami

no no, you're right. i mean, he does beat himself up over sawa, as well as mitsuru. he couldn't not feel responsible if this case would lead to yagami's demise as well. if anything, i can't say that kuwana doesn't care about other people. he even cares about his students even knowing that they despise him (i can't stop thinking about the fact that he agreed to meet with yagami so they'd release mamiya... it's not like he was afraid she'd spill everything, i mean, he tells yagami about a lot of things himself)

or maybe i really want to think that kuwana is a better person than he actually is. idk.

tbh i doubt my characterization of them a lot, hence all these disclaimers lol. and i really want to know other's opinions and why i can be wrong in how i view them? i mean, we are a small community. i can see people disagreeing with me, though in silence. but i want to discuss this, because i strive to see all sides of things, and i think it's fun to take their relationship apart again and again

i re-watch quite, uh. let's say, often the cutscenes featuring the two of them, and sometimes the moments where there's only mentions of them. i've started to write an "analysis" of each scene and their (presumed) reactions to their interactions, because it really does make things clearer in my head. i'm replaying the game rn, trying to see anything beyond my insanity lmao, but it's still just one view on things, you know? i really want to have a discussion and see where i can be wrong. and just... it'd be fun to listen other people talking about my favourite characters.

(is this approach insane? of course! but i'm having fun at the very least, and if i can have fun two years after i've finished LJ for the first time, well, i'll take it.)

when i say that i think about them a lot, i really mean it lol. (that's not my first rodeo, so business as usual for me.) but even if i strive to open-minded, and even if i re-visit canon again and again, it's hard to not be biased about lots of things.

and, yeah, i'm really glad to hear that you agree with me on this hc. but even if you, or anyone else, didn't, i'd want to hear all about it

I am here to talk about one of my favourite fics: Tell The Neighbors I’m Not Sorry! It’s such a good fic that I keep rereading over and over

And I’m wondering now, how did you first come up with the idea? Did you expect the fic to turn out this long? Just go off about it!

Thank you so much for the ask!! I'm so glad you love that fic and enjoy it, it's always nice to hear when smthg i made brings joy. fdjhh idk how to respond properly but thanks again.

Back when I wrote it I was very frustrated with how people were reacting to SOKE and Jon. There was homophobia from major media outlets, YouTube, haters on SNS who kept nitpicking. As a queer person, it was frustrating seeing someone who shares my identity being ostracized so terribly. But Superman is always meant to fight against the hate and rise above it, and I needed to make my Superman, the first Superman whose stories I read, to do the same.

So I took all the irl hate and reactions and used Jon & Jay to show the queer experience when faced with such scrutiny. In that spirit, I wanted them to not back down regardless of the hate. I wanted Jon to be bold and unapologetic about who he is and define his own story, especially in terms of his queerness. I was getting tired of fighting with homophobes and bigots on twitter, so I channeled the anger and frustration into the fic.

I also wanted to do the same for Jay. It was a side-focus but Jay's character still faces a lot of microaggression & racism. No one trusts him when all he wanted to do was fight to free his country. It really reminded me of how POC & immigrants are just, generally seen as the "other'. Never trusted or taken into regard no matter how much they prove themselves. Ostracized for existing.

So the fic was me directly addressing all the unfounded hate SOKE, Jon & Jay receive. Establishing them and being like "This is who they are, deal with it and if you can't, then that's your problem." It was with regards to Jon's queerness, Jay's background, Jon's age-up.It was about the characters and about irl queer and POC. We're here.

When I first got the idea for the fic it was supposed to be a cute short story about how the citizens of Metropolis and everyone were getting tired of JayJon's PDA lol. Like a social media fic that leads to an interview where they're being cute on TV. But I put off writing it for a while, and by the time I got to it, the tone completely changed. I knew I wanted it to be a one-shot though.....the length surprised me in the end lol.

After a steady string of boys, she got herself another girl. At last. And by the looks of things, a regular ‘mini Me’.

You never realize just how strong your wife actually is until you see her go through bringing a baby....YOUR baby...into the world. And just when you think you can’t love her anymore than you already do, you watch her as a mum.

Me: “Brookie, where are we?”

Her: “The mall!”

Me: “And what are we going to do?”

Her: “Spend all your money!”

Bought the wife her favourite donuts. So she had something nice to wake up to. Know what she had the nerve to say? Out loud? “Better than sex.” And then when she noticed my reaction, quickly added: “Almost.”

Mmmhmm.

Rough night, honey? Jesus Christ lmao

My wife comes into the bathroom and pokes her around the shower curtain: “I made you something to eat.”

Go downstairs, thinking ‘hey, she’s made me a breakfast feast!’ And what do I discover?

The freaking bottle is bigger than her head. This is our smallest one yet. I’m scared to even pick her up. And the old lady just left me alone with her.

Side note: Look at all that hair.

Me all proud of herself for making cookies as favours for a friend’s wedding. Whose doing so at our house, on the beach. I’m like ‘oh that’s so sweet, honey. Making something for them.’. I’m expecting like your basic cookies. Chocolate chip. Peanut butter.

Not this.

She just sent me this picture (taken at ‘meet the teacher night’ while talking to TJ’s nightmare of a teacher) with the caption: “How many different ways of killing her were you imagining?”

IDK, babe. I think I was on my eighth. And it was the most gruesome and painful way yet.

Texted this to the wife. Along with:

“If you’re not down to doing this at Halloween this year, we’re getting a divorce.”

Her: “You as the man in the yellow hat? in that case, the man in the yellow can GET IT.”

Look at the limbs on this kid!

She definitely does not take after her mumma.

This little one went down for a nap and a couple hours later I hear giggling and babbling and “daddeeee...dadddeeee...” Go in, and this is what is waiting for me.

And just like that, I was a puddle of mush.

Used to do a little bit of cosplay. Nothing too fancy, but I've enjoyed dressing as characters from shows .. or dressing as weird concepts because that's the kind of person I am.

LEAST FAVOURITE FACECLAIM(S): I'm not terribly finicky about this. I mean there are people whose face I don't want to see at all. But I will simply just not engage with those faces when I see them as fc.

FLUFF: I enjoy fluff although it's weird.. Idk. Fluff is a weird word for the kind of threads I like because it's not necessarily soft, but it's just exploring curious interactions with people. Idk. It can be fluffy but it doesn't have to be. I do love soft stuff when I can get it but.. in terms of what I think about fluff, I'm more like.. let's see what each other is just like. Casual stuff I guess.

ANGST: Angst can be interesting, I do enjoy writing it. It's probably more like to have those little threads of angsty thought that come up but may not be the focus on the thread. But I do like really facing some strange feelings. Or dealing with the vulnerabilities of those they do care about.

SMUT: I'm down for it. I'm not great at asking about it .. so it's a bit sporadic for me. But if I think there's an interesting exploration there I'm open.

favorite “Hawkeye has a mental breakdown” episode

Aside from Dr Pierce and Mr Hyde, this is tough lol bc there are so many good ones. I really like Hawk’s Nightmare - I love how concerned Hawkeye is for himself, love him avoiding sleep so hard that he tries to talk about it with Frank, love the theme of a violent intrusion into a idealized childhood and how well that thread is carried through the rest of the show and into the finale, love how no one realizes Hawkeye is sleepwalking at first because he’s just like that lol, love his discussion with Sidney and Sidney calling him the sanest person he knows - love the theme in general of how the only sane reaction to living in a war zone is insanity, but I especially like how it’s explored here in a much more serious way.

I consider Hawkeye a breakdown episode because I think his frantic monologuing is all about a more philosophical fear of death than just keeping himself awake because of outdated concussion myths that he’s aware are bullshit. It’s about grasping onto life extra hard in the face of death, and life is attention, it’s acknowledgement, it’s affecting others and being heard. And along with that I have to mention The Late Captain Pierce as its counterpoint - Hawkeye nearly beaten by death, ie being overlooked, being unable to contact his loved ones, being helpless. Both are top tier episodes.

But if I can say favourite Hawkeye breakdown without encompassing the whole episode, it’s gotta be GFA. I just adore it! I love the bitterness, I love the anger, I love the mean jokes, the manic energy, the rant about being gaslit, the recontextualized word association rants, it’s exactly what I wanted from a full on Hawkeye breakdown.

favorite Alan Alda episode

Again, other than Dr Pierce and Mr Hyde lol, Follies of the Living - Concerns of the Dead. Dreams and The Life You Save tied for third right behind it.

He has great lighter episodes but these are just so good man. Follies is just flawless imo, it’s so thematically on point with its take on death and life (same as what I said about Hawkeye and Late Captain Pierce) and gorgeously written as well, with great, wonderfully... incisive character moments on top of it. The final shot of everyone walking off down the road gives me chills every time. It’s my second fave largely because the death vs life theme resonates, and I love the tone as well - dark, a little off for Mash, maybe a little pretentious but in a good way, idk it just works imo, it makes the episode stand out as a statement, and it’s a good statement that reflects so well on the show as a whole.

Dreams is just gorgeous, a fantastic set of dark character studies, every single one basically perfect, not just well done but also fitting my own takes lol. The way every character has their idealized dream that gives way to a nightmare, except Potter whose dream never becomes a nightmare because the war is integrated into his fantasy, and Hawkeye whose nightmare never had a fantasy element because he doesn’t have anything to hide behind.

The Life You Save is also pretty much perfect. I love Charles’ self-imposed yet tragic isolation, I love how Margaret and BJ and Potter all fail him in very believable ways. David Ogden Stiers is fantastic throughout. His delivery of “that would be interesting wouldn’t it?” takes my breath away. Even the much lighter B plot with the trays works imo, I think it meshes very well thematically wrt absurdism.

But probably Chelsea Hotel #1 (which is pinned on my blog and is a MUST LISTEN and isn’t on spotify) orrrrrrr Avalanche but there are SO MANY that make my brain feel like microwaved with euphoria & so so sick and crazy and feverish, like The Partisan, Suzanne, Who By Fire, idk what else

Least Favourite Song: um there is a surprisingly high percentage of Leonard Cohen songs I actually don’t like. He’s one of those artists that some of the songs are like transcendent and divine etc but some i really can’t stand. Strong reactions all around

Least Favourite Album:this was hard and i had to go really scrutinize his discography/tracklists for this, and it was difficult because there is at least a song I dislike & a song i like on every single album. But I never find myself putting on Death Of A Ladies’ Man, and there are no like rapturous obsession songs on it, so maybe that one (sry to my mutual whose url is that one lololol)

Song that got me into them: I know it was Chelsea Hotel #2 but i have NO idea how...absolutely no memory of it whatsoever, but I’m certain it was that song. it’s so beautiful.

biggest bl disappointment

idk about biggest but in recents i gave coffee melody a couple of episodes bc pavel phoom was one of my favourite things in 2 moons 2... and it was very dull to me so i've dropped it. i was a bit disappointed w cupid's last wish as well, especially with it having all the right ingredients; leads w established good chemistry and talent, road trip concept, JAN. other than watching jan get the chance to play two different characters and looking like a big hungry lesbian for a sizable portion of the show, it finished out very forgettable for me [sad trumpet]

4.what’s an inside joke you have with your family or friends?

Am I supposed to explain it even though it won't be funny idk here you go.

I don't talk to this person anymore but it was the first thing that came to mind. We were hanging out at my friends apartment and his neighbor knocked on the door pretty sure to get pissed at us for being too loud but when she saw us she decided to be friendly instead and also claimed to know my other friend ans use that for justification to come inside but she did not remember her at all so not sure about that one.

Well we didn't want her to complain or call anyone on us (illicit things) so we tried to entertain her a bit and give her a drink since she more or less invited herself in rudely. She ended up talking about the building and room layout with my friend (guy whose apt it was) and they got into an argument because she claimed the unit was not a mirror image of hers and proceeded to describe...a mirror image of the apt.

She would not let it go and neither would he and he was just getting more and more genuinely pissed off (and also wanted her to leave) and she was very giggly and teasing but at one point he is just slapping the back of his hand on his palm yelling "LIKE A MIRROR IMAGE! LIKE A MIRROR FUCKING IMAGE?! YEAH?!" while we are like wheezing at them. After she finally left we goaded him like hey hey, what was that again? Was it like...a mirror image? And he was losing it. You could bring it up to him anytime years later for a laugh. Hold something up to him flipped , hey? Is this...a mirror image? Or if someone described something in such a way just say, oh? Like a mirror image, maybe? And it would immediately set him off but I think he liked being pissed off sometimes so it was all in good fun. We would do it to each other as well but without the strong emotional response just to laugh about.

Idk whatever ppl define for themselves. Like I think spending casual time together, or going someplace together even on a routine errand can be romantic. Walking while holding hands is romantic. Small gestures that let someone know you think about them or care about their comfort can be romantic. But then some things I would say are romantic other ppl might balk at and think aren't or "aren't enough". So idk "it depends".

If I am forcing myself to just answer for myself I would take the above and also say that someone choosing to be present for me intentionally is romantic. Like, basically to be dedicated and loyal.

Yes. I will share a couple I guess. When ppl try to be competitive with me. My reaction ranges from losing all interest in whatever it was (like there is no competition, the other person can have whatever feeling of superiority they want idgaf) to active disgust with them if they continue to try to rope me into some kind of competition or oneupsmanship. I might know they are wrong, or I might be able to out do them, but I will just shut my mouth or let people misinterpret things rather than fuck with that.

When people I don't like invade my personal space or touch me. If I like someone I am usually totally unbothered by close proximity or being casually touched or prefer it. But for people I either don't like or don't know I hate it. I will not react to it but I very much am thinking "ew. How dare you" in my head.

Hi Abhi! I’m so glad to see you requesting something for the Black Bulls, they are such an amazing squad! For this one I decided to go with first kisses, since I recently wrote more kissing headcanons and I think they’re surprisingly fun to write UwU Zora is up first, and since you mentioned him not being popular, I decided to put more of the less-popular Bulls in here! I hope you enjoy ❤

Zora Ideale

Behind his though exterior, Zora is actually a little bit of a romantic. He doesn't quickly grow attached to someone, let alone fall in love, but it happened. Zora believes you deserve someone better than him, but you picked him so he'll just have to be the best version of himself for you.

He'll make sure the setting is right for the first kiss. Some place away from people, some please you can relax. Probably one of your favourite places. A first kiss should be memorable, right?

He'll place his hand on your cheek and lean In slowly, giving you enough time to turn away in case you'd be uncomfortable. He half expects you to punch him in the face or something.

The kiss is soft, your lips just barely touching. Zora is a little worried he'd hurt you or make you uncomfortable, and his pointy teeth may or may not be part of that worry. He's not changing them though, he likes them this way.

When he takes his hand off your cheek after the kiss there's a stinkbug on there. Zora wouldn't be himself if he was a perfect gentleman, right?

Charmy Pappitson

Your first kiss with Charmy will be kind of spontaneous, a kiss that will surprise both you and Charmy. It will, however, also be a sweet one, in more ways than one.

You and Charmy will just be relaxing, eating something sweet Charmy has made. Cupcakes, donuts, anything. As you're both enjoying it and gushing over the taste, Charmy notices a bit of frosting/filling/whatever stuck just above your lips. She'll point it out, but instead of describing exactly where it is so you can remove it yourself, she'll grab her chance, quickly lean in and clean it up herself.

The kiss lasts about a second, it's over before you even realise what just happened.

Charmy herself is a little surprised at her sudden bravado and looks away with a blush on her face, rubbing the back of her neck nervously. She liked it alright, but what if you didn't like it?

She'll be so taken off guard by her own action, that you have the perfect opportunity to lean in and place a kiss on her lips, this time a proper one. Once your lips part, she will be laughing awkwardly, probably avoiding your eyes by looking at the sweets.

Asta

“Y/n! Can I kiss you?!”

It's Asta's typical stressed/flustered way of shouting and even though he asked you away from other people, you're pretty sure anyone within the vicinity has heard him yelling.

Once Asta falls in love, he wastes no time getting his feelings across. He has no problem proclaiming them to you, be in privacy or in front of others. Once he knows you return his feelings, he will be so ecstatic that he forgets everything else. Including that he wants to kiss you.

So somewhere between 30 minutes and 3 hours after he confessed, he will be asking you if he can kiss you. When you say yes, he'll step closer to close the distance between the two of you, put his hands, which you can feel are a little sweaty because of the nerves, on your cheeks and slowly closes the distance.

The kiss itself is very careful, Asta has no idea what he's doing and he doesn't want to do anything wrong either. First kisses are special, right? He keeps his lips pressed to yours for a few seconds before pulling away with a big grin.

Grey, Henry, Luck, Noelle, Gauche, Gordon and Secre after the cut!

Grey

Grey is just not doing it. She's way too embarrassed, and there's just no way she can get herself to ask you to kiss you. She'll consider catching you by surprise and just doing it, but what if you don't want a kiss? Or what if she does it wrong?

She's an absolute mess. She'll ask Gauche and Noelle for help, but their advice is simply ‘just ask it’ or ‘just do it’. It's no help to her, which only makes her believe even more that she's a lost cause.

She will make several attempts to ask you, but she just never can get any further than the word ‘can'. The stuttering already starts when she calls out your name to get your attention, and after a few attempts to ask ‘can I kiss you?’ the embarrassment becomes too much and she transforms herself into the big guy. She's not finishing that sentence and no matter how much you ask her about it afterwards, she won't complete it.

Ideally, she'll wait for you to kiss her first. It'll still be super embarrassing, but at least she won't be the one who has to make the moves.

Henry Legolant

Henry is a little hesitant about kissing you, he knows what effect he has on the people who come too close to him, but he really wants to! So he'll think about it for a good while before hatching a little plan.

On a moment when nobody is around, he'll call out your name, step closer to you slowly so you can step away if you become uncomfortable, slowly leans in when he's close enough and kisses you. He has his arms around you to support you, in case he's draining too much mana from you.

The kiss is soft and slow, and he stays close to you for a few seconds, not wanting to part from you too quickly. He tightens his hold on you a little, enjoying the rare feeling of being close, certainly this close, to someone.

He'll then hand you a little plate of food he had asked Charmy to prepare for him beforehand and step back to give you some space. It's Charmy's special food to restore mana. Of course Charmy was in on his plan, he had to tell her to get her to make something for him, and unknown to you she's sneakily watching through the keyhole of the door to see if their plan worked.

Luck Voltia

Luck didn't plan on kissing you today. Luck doesn't plan on anything. He always goes with the slow and his only goal is for the two of you to have fun. Aside from that, it really doesn't matter what happens. Though if fighting or pranks are involved, that's a plus! And that's exactly what put him in a good enough mood to kiss you.

The two of you had just played a huge prank and were running away from your poor victim, who seemed about ready to murder you. You were laughing like maniacs as you ran and you eventually lost them. The two of you now stood still, catching your breath and laughing.

That's when he does it, suddenly and unexpectedly. The kiss is story and sweet, gone as soon as you felt it. Just a little peck. Luck simply keeps smiling at you while you're trying to process what just happened. He'll start laughing at your reaction, and it makes you unable to stop yourself from laughing as well.

The whole situation is a little absurd, but there's no uncomfortable silences, no tension, no awkwardness. Just your boyfriend playing a little prank on you, one you certainly don't mind.

Noelle Silva

Noelle is going to do everything in her power to make you be the one to kiss her first. She's a royal, she shouldn't be the one making the first moves. Right?

She's tried to a few times, but she just gets too embarrassed every time and chickens out. Hence her new plan: make you want to kiss her. You're already attracted to her so it shouldn't be too hard, right?

She'll put some extra effort into looking pretty, and she'll try to bait you with things like a subtle with pretty lipgloss, or by leaving a little bit of food hanging on her lip. She's not the most subtle person, so her message should come across pretty easily. It's up to you whether you want to tease her a little about it and pretend to not notice, or to just give her what she wants.

If you keep ignoring her hints, she'll eventually find a moment to just tell you that you can kiss her. Mostly likely when you've gotten her something or done something for her.

“You did good, as a reward, you're allowed to kiss me.”

No, even though she said it, she's still not making that first move herself.

Gauche Adlai

Gauche is not a very subtle person. When he wants something, it's obvious. Usually he just makes sure he gets it too. You, however, are the one exception to that. The one person aside from Marie that he's careful with, about whose opinion he cares. So, instead of just kissing you right the moment when he feels like it, he waits a little.

He's not too worried about setting up a good romantic setting, that's not what matters anyway, it's the kiss that matters, but he does try to get some privacy for that moment. He doesn't need people commenting on him kissing you when he does, it's a pain in the ass.

But getting some privacy with the Black Bulls around is nearly impossible, and Gauche is struggling to even create such an opportunity. His patience runs thin pretty quickly, he just wants to kiss you already, so he pulls you away behind a corner, pulls you close to him and kisses you there.

The kiss is a little on the rough side, mostly due to Gauche's annoyance at the whole situation and at how long he had to wait. He calms down pretty fast though, now that he's gotten what he wanted.

Gordon Agrippa

Gordon usually goes with the flow, letting you take the lead, letting you set the boundaries. It was like that in his friendship with you, and it will continue to be like that in his relationship with you. However, you two have yet to have your first kiss and he's getting a little worried about it. So this time, he decides to make a move.

When the two of you are relaxed and away from prying eyes, he'll just talk to you about it. Not in a sad or an accusing kind of way, but in a way filled with curiosity. Were you shy? Were you uncomfortable? Did you just not want to? Were you waiting for him to make the first move? Despite the somewhat weird topic, it's a comfortable conversation.

Once you let him know you're comfortable with it, be it during that conversation or later, he'll carefully cup your cheek in his right hand, put his left hand around you to pull you close and then he'll kiss you in a soft yet sweet kiss. Nothing too overwhelming, just a relaxed and loving moment.

Mind the lipstick stains though. The other Bulls will have a riot when they see them.

Secre Swallowtail

Secre never really thought too much about kissing you. Sure, she loved you, but physical displays of affection are not really her forte, nor are they extremely important to her. She always figured that if you wanted to kiss, you'd come to her and kiss her, simple as that.

However, when Vanessa, be it in an alcohol-induced haze, informed her that kisses were needed to assure the other of your love for them, she got a little insecure. Was that the ramblings of a drunk woman? Or was there some truth in that and were you doubting her love for you?

She remembered Tetia and Licht, and how happy they seemed when they kissed, so there must be some truth in it at least, right?

So she asks you if it's bothering you. Expressing her emotions aren't her strongest point, but you can see some worry and uncertainty in her eyes. If you assure her you're fine, that's that. If you let her know in any way that you would like to kiss her though, she'll lean towards you and place a quick peck on your lips. The contact doesn't even last for a second, but Secre can't help herself from smiling. Maybe kisses were better than she thought.

okay so. idk how to explain this but as someone who is active in the canon side of the atla fandom (supports the overly hated canon ships, enjoys the canon for what it is), it does get frustrating and miserable at times when a whole group of very vocal people have essentially arrived at the conclusion that the canon is bad & that their fanon takes (ships, version of events) are far superior and Should Have Happened (and Would Have Happened, had it not been for the mysoginistic men). the counter logic - as a canon enthusiast- would then be to work tirelessly to convince people of the beauty of the canon that they are missing out on, produce meta after meta, attempt to compete with the bigger ship fandoms and do all but shout into the void that the canon is good!!! y’all are just haters!!! but spite content can only get you so far until you start to feel burnt out, annoyed, and upset that no matter your efforts, no matter how hard you’re trying, you’re not changing people’s minds.

and i think a big part of benefiting in your fandom experience - in addition to improving your own mental health - is to realize that it’s okay that you aren’t changing people’s minds. it’s okay if you can’t make everyone love this character or this ship (and honestly, if you’re part of a fandom whose mission is to do so, then that’s not a fandom anymore but a cult). you’re creating content that’s made for you and other people who have similar interests as you, no matter if that’s a group of 50 people or 5000. obviously, it’s become intrinsic in our capitalist societies to compare, to compete, to want what you don’t have. but as soon as you start to say, “that fandom/character/ship has really good artwork and content, why doesn’t my fandom/character/ship have the same great content?” you’re discounting the works of the many talented artists and writers of your own fandom/character/ship who have put so much of their time and energy and hardwork and effort into producing great (free) content for you to consume.

i’m not saying that you don’t have a right to feel angry and upset when your favourite character is overlooked, when a ship you love is hated simply for the shallowest reasons, or that a plot point or character that you love is widely misconstrued in fandom interpretations. those are all perfectly valid feelings and speaking out on these concerns does result in some action getting done, does get other people to realize that, “hey, it’s kind of fucked that that character/ship is treated that way?” in addition to validating people who has always felt the same way as you. challenging bad fandom takes also helps to promote the acceptance of other opinions, thus somewhat preventing hive mentality from occurring. however, as soon as you spend all of your time complaining about what you don’t have or trying to compete with these large fandoms, rather than appreciating the content that you do get, it starts to take a large toll on your own mental health.

all in all, by all means, of course, challenge bad takes. fandoms shouldn’t get away with saying the uttermost nonsensical takes that have no canonical basis, that people only made up based on their own illogical and bitter readings. in addition, create spite content if you see something that particularly invoked a visceral reaction out of you. but don’t just make those your fandom experience. instead, start to recognize that that fic or artwork you recently made is beloved by someone. that meta you produced was saved by someone else. encourage artwork made by others. leave kudos & comments on fics you’ve read. positivity & unity goes such a long way, and does so much better for your mental health and happiness, i promise you this.
