Finally got around to posting the first half of the Desert Husbands™️ fic I've been working on the last the last little while. These two have me in such a fuckin chokehold but I have no complaints.
I basically took the idea from that scrapped Obi-Wan script, mashed it up with what happens in S2 of the bad batch, and then set the pace up with one of my favorite songs (The Last Lost Continent by La Dispute) and this is what I ended up with :D I Rly hope it's as fun to read as it was to write, but I'm mostly just glad I got to make something that makes me happy!

Headland's pitch for the series was to explore the franchise from the perspective of the villains, and felt the High Republic era would be the best point in the timeline to do this because "the bad guys are wildly outnumbered [at that point and are] the underdogs".
ngl i don't know how to feel about this in regards to how jedi are going to be portrayed because the "acolyte" creator talked about showing how they "fell". i'm just tired thinking of whether they're going to add fuel to the victim blaming takes on a culture's genocide. i really hope not.
I mean, Disney will take pretty much every chance they get to shit on the Jedi Order, so I wouldn't be surprised. At least she's calling the darksiders the bad guys, tons of fans don't even do that much. If they try to pull some """grey Jedi""" horseshit I'm gonna blow a gasket.
I'm just hoping they won't commit anymore horrific deepfakes. Either pull a Kenobi and have Ian McDiarmid play baby Palpatine without any CGI or just recast him, do not give me another creepy soulless uncanny valley abomination. (And if there's no Sheev at all then WHAT'S THE POINT)
I'm actually a little excited for the Jedi to have the upper hand, for once, but I doubt I'll actually watch it. I'm getting burnout from all these new shows. Also, considering what's resurfaced about Lee Jung-jae, I do not feel comfortable supporting something he's in. I've already sworn off the Ahsoka show bc it has Rosario Dawson, and I'm actually invested in that character. Idgaf about these new people.
One thing I do regret is that the racists and the misogynists are gonna have a field day attacking the poor actors, so I feel a bit guilty for shitting on it already bc I KNOW the reactionary white guys will be absolutely insufferable. They tore Kenobi to shreds just for having a black woman in it, I shudder to think about what kind of bullshit they'll pull with a show that centers almost entirely around female characters and people of color.

Late to this party by quite a few hours but I finally managed to watch the two Kenobi episodes
I can't figure out how to do cuts on mobile so here's your
SPOILER WARNING
So here's my thoughts, untainted by the internet as of yet:
- I FUCKING LOVE THIS SO FAR
- It hits all the beats we kind of expected it to hit and it does so WELL
- Opening on Order 66 is ouch - though I think this is more for Reva's character than Obi Wans
- Didn't think we'd get so much Alderaan and I'm here for it - Bail and Breha and Leia and it's all going to end so tragically ugh why am I a sucker for this kind of stuff
- Baby Leia is PERFECT - the actress does a great jkb and the writing for her is brilliant, to say nothing of her dynamic with Obi Wan
- So much sad Obi-Wan, all my dreams are coming true, sobbing and Qui-Gon meditation next please
- Love that he actually did bury the lightsaber in the desert, alongside Anakin's no less, and now that has bonus ST ressonance points too
- I like how clear they're being on the themes and goals of this thing even if it's a little heavy handed sometimes (it's SW so that's to be expected) - much rather have that than the unclear mess we ended up with in BOBF
- I really like Reva so far and I think it's hilarious that Obi-Wan keeps picking up darksiders who are obsessed with him in every single continuity
- Owen bit was also what was expected but good and I liked what followed
- Obi Wan taking quite a few hits in those fights is great as a reminder that he IS seriously out of practice
- Cool that we're out of Tatooine and Daiyu and have passed most trailer material already
- Happy that we're not getting that many cameos for the sake of it so far - all the old characters that are in this make sense for this story
- Two things I didn't like: some of the action in episode 1 was oddly clunky, especially the baddies chasing Leia and in the opening scene; also in ep 1 there was some very awkward dialogue here and there, mostly in the beginning (although let's face it: that, too, is a SW staple)
- Two things that will have the fandom frothing at the mouth and IDGAF about: Grand Inquisitor dying here when he dies in Rebels also. Guys, he somehow returned and that's all we need to know really. And Leia actually knowing Obi-Wan - granted he never introduces himself properly, but several people call him by name within earshot of her. If they can 'write' around the Leia remembering Padmé thing they can write around this - see above on the 'somehow' issue (let go, let go)

Your Sour Patch Kids and Sprite, Finn’s Milky Way and Gatorade… You look over the items in your hands once more, hurrying through the crowds of kids masked in orange and white, proudly showing off Amidala-Skywalker High School’s colors; a stark contrast to the crowd bathed in red and black on the other side of the podium.
You mentally curse yourself for even wanting to come to the Homecoming game between Amidala-Skywalker and Geonosis High—dragging Finn along with you on top of that.
If Homecoming was this overhyped, you were going to be pissed.
Lost in thought, you unavoidably manage to run into someone, wincing when you hear the crack of your Sprite can hit the ground and open.
“My bad.”
You look back up to see a cute guy looking back at you with apologetic eyes, grinning, while his wild chocolate-colored curls frame his face.
“No, you’re good. It was my fault for running into you.”
“Nah, that was me. Got a little too focused on the game.” Both of you erupt into awkward laughter, bending down to pick up the snacks now lying on the ground. “I’m Poe, by the way.”
You look up once more, breath hitching in your throat because of how close you are to him—had you moved five inches closer, your lips would be pressed flush up against his. Your cheeks heat up at the thought and you forget how to speak for a few moments, watching him hold back a smirk.
This fucker knew exactly—
“I’m Y/N,” you quickly blurt out, flashing him a quick smile and grabbing the candy and sports drink, noticing another Sprite can that Poe hadn’t picked up. “I think that’s yours.”
“No, that one’s yours.”
“Even if it is mine, I ran into you, so you should have it.”
“Honestly? I was hoping you’d say that. Rey would kill me if I didn’t come back with her Sprite.” You chuckle and nod, standing up and smiling when he motions for you to go up the steps first.
You’re thinking about where you’ve seen him on the way up to your row, realizing that he was the one who pranked a girl—you’re guessing Rey?—in your english class by removing her headphones from her laptop’s jack while she was in the bathroom. Mr. Kenobi nearly fell out of his seat when he heard “WAP” blaring at full volume.
Needless to say, she was not happy.
You slide into the row Finn is sitting in, throwing him his candy and the Gatorade bottle—the latter of which he nearly doesn’t catch, which would’ve resulted in it hitting the brunette next to him.
“Y/N! Meet Rey! She’s in our english class, remember?” You can’t believe it for a minute—Wait, was this Poe’s doing? No, he was walking up the stairs with you… You look around, seeing Poe walking into the row from the other side.
What the hell were the odds?
You then remember that Finn and Rey are watching you look around like a madman, snapping you back to the situation of introductions and small-talk at hand.
“Right! The girl who—”
“Whose music blared in a dead-silent classroom in the middle of our english class? Yeah, that’s me.” You chuckle slightly, nodding to her and sitting down. Poe’s gaze catches your eye and he quirks an eyebrow, tilting his head.
What are you doing here?
A quick tilt of your head in Finn’s direction, then the game’s direction. Watching the game, apparently.
Raised eyebrows and the hint of a smirk. You following me?
An eyeroll and a bit-back smile. Oh yeah, definitely.

Okay so this is the most general ask ever so I guess I’ll lay out the groundwork for you but overall y’all gotta start being more specific with asks because this is just asking me to lay out an entire AU which can take. Hours. No joke okay when I start an AU I START AN AU and it can take me HOURS to spell out exactly what happens cause it’s so comprehensive.
No problems with that I’m just saying that I’m not gonna lay out everything rn because that can take. So. Long. But I would love more specific questions when I get the groundwork laid out I honestly WANNA tell y’all about this it’s just. Hard. To write it all out.
So, in SW canon, the galaxy that the Republic is based out of, is flanked by two satellite galaxies that circle it. That means, these galaxies are caught in its gravitational pull and so they circle the republic, much like a moon does a planet. One of these galaxies is the Rishi Maze (and I think Kamino is in that maze?? Or maybe it’s a little closer but either way I know that some canon planets of interest are based in the Rishi Maze, so obviously it’s a place of significance) and the other one, I can’t remember if it has a canon name or not, but I know that the other one is slightly further away, and not considered a major point of interest in SW canon. This could be incorrect and a point of interest in books or comics, but the last time I checked the Wikias, it wasn’t very important.
Now. Why is this important enough for me to tell you? Well. Because that means, that in an AU where you want to put Earth close enough to the Republic that they didn’t even know that they’re technically a part of it (tho that part itself is arguable, it could be said that the original humans or Proto-humans that landed there were part of the Republic but now that their evolution and society is so advanced they could argue their own status as part of the Republic and stay independent) then you can say that Earth resides in this secondary satellite galaxy that is, unbeknownst to the Republic, the Milky Way Galaxy!!!!
So, if you ever wanna make Earth close enough that Jedi could stumble onto it, just remember, you totally can, without making it some random overlooked planet on the outside of the Outer Rim. Remember, basically everywhere in the main galaxy in SW has been explored and there’s no way in hell that with the advancement that Earth is at rn, that we would have missed a heightened about of space traffic in our own galaxy. Aka: it makes sense that they’re in a close satellite galaxy, but not in the Republic bounds themselves.
Now, with that backstory out of the way; an AU where Earth is basically hidden from the Republic at large because it’s basically one giant wellspring, nearly on par with Mortis itself. Mortis was a wellspring so all encompassing and vast that someone thought to hide it from the galaxy at large so no one could get a hold of the power that resides there. What if Earth was also nearly as powerful?
Well then, I would say that Earth would have an abundance of ‘magic’ on it. Werewolves and demons and portals from death to life (ghosts). I’d say that Earth, whether it had any force sensitives or not on it, would be a pretty fucking terrifying place to be on. So, it could be said that Teen Wolf taking place on this terrifying monster filled world, would honestly make so much sense.
Thats backstory for how you can get magic and science to blend together. Star Wars is just about the only series I would ever crossover with both magic series and science series alike, because as we all saw on Mortis, the Force itself is basically energy and mutation alike. Anything could develop on a world that’s a wellspring itself.
Now, in Teen Wolf (pre-season 4 mind you, I don’t give the slightest fuck what happened post season 3 and I barely liked season 3 at all, it was a mess and I’m just not going back to it) has something that sounds like a wellspring itself in it. The Nematon. But!! It also heavily implies that these Nematon’s are all over the world!!! So basically a planet that grows it’s own wellsprings!!!! That’s fucking cool!!!!
So. What happens to crossover these two fandoms? The same thing that happened to send the original proto-humans to Earth in the first place. They were just minding their own business being relocated by an alien race to another planet when theirs was in danger, when surprise, they hit some sort of weird hyperspace lane that sorta slingshots them right into another galaxy and on a new planet. A planet that happens to be a version of the force itself and lands them sorta safely.
So, for funsies: war is over, Palpatine dead af, our hero’s to be need to head home in the Republic, but whoops, they hit the same hyperspace lane and get slang shat all the way to Earth.
Not a full ship mind you. God that would be an epic explosion that could have killed half of America. But, as is, a small ship containing; Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Cody, Rex, Jesse, Kix, Fives, Echo (can you hear the sobbing? Cause I’m sobbing) and a few others probably but those are the main players I wanted to deal with, gets sent to Earth, to land right in Northern Cali in the middle of a forest. In werewolf territory.
Of course, most of them are okay. But two of them are. Not. At all. Okay. Rex and Cody are. Dying. Painfully.
And Kix doesn’t have the means from what’s left of the wreckage to save them rn.
Which is where Talia Hale comes in. (The Hales and Claudia Stilinski are all alive idgaf I’ll write what I want go away). Talia, has both the means and the want to save them.
Of course, first there’s a language barrier to get over, but she gets consent right from Rex and Cody, because even when it comes to medical procedures, I’m tired of the clones having basically no free will, and these two have the right to choose their own fate. She tells them she can change their DNA structure. They’ll still be them, but they’ll be healthy and alive and stronger than they ever were before.
Of course they’re gonna say yes. Why the fuck wouldn’t they? If this virus works on them, then it could also save COUNTLESS amounts of brothers that are wounded from the battlefield, wake up droves of them stuck in comas that might never open their eyes again otherwise. This could change so much more than just if they live or not. This could change the fate of their brothers as well.
So. They get the bite. And then they spend a couple days recovering in the basement of the Hale pack (with General Kenobi watching over them himself, and the rest of the brothers and Jedi making friends with the pack upstairs) recovering from the bite and becoming alive again.
Of course, Talia just wanted to help a bunch of aliens that landed in her backyard, what she REALLY didn’t expect, was for both of them to wake up with red eyes.

How do you think they will handle Reylo for promo of ix??do you think they are going to go the "oh kylo and Rey "HATE"each other, they are going to "destroy" each other" or be very coy and just walk around the question?
I think JJ will be even less clear than Rian was, tbqh. JJ is of the mind that trailers reveal too much (apparently, I can’t remember what point I heard him say this/be spoken about–it’s been a long 3 years), and likes his mysteries.
Incidentally, I loved the hell out of the TFA trailers, so I’m sure, however they end up going down, they’ll be gorgeous.
Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if they play up a star-crossed lovers/sexy enemies/forbidden lovers slant (HAHA I’m gonna catch shit for this, but whatever, go big with predictions or go home). Like, I’m certain they are aware of how much people are clamoring for more Reylo, so them teasing in a trailer wouldn’t be outside of the realm of possibility.
That’s one of my regrets about TCW and it not having a tonne of character overlap into the PT. Because Ventress and Kenobi was the sexiest fucking thing ever. Whew! While I’m fully expecting a happy ending and really think that Reylo will be more sweet than anything (though Ben and Rey’s banter in the TLJ novel is great), I’d also love some forbidden lovers drama and some teasy hints from the trailers.
Ok, so I’m all over the place with what I want for Reylo and IDGAF lol. As you can see, there are more than a few options that I’d be happy with (though I’m doubtful we’ll get much more than hints in any trailers).
We’ll have to wait and see. I’m thinking Celebration next April is most likely, but maybe JJ loves us and will give us a teaser in Dec (unlikely lol).

I’m watching the feature length behind the scenes documentary for The Phantom Menace right now. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but Episode 1 has always been one of my top favorite Star Wars movies. I was 8 years old when it came out, and I remember seeing it in the theater with my mom. She had already shown me the original trilogy multiple times so I was so excited that there was new Star Wars to enjoy. I absolutely loved it back then and I still do to this day. Now watching the behind the scenes makes me love it even more. Especially watching Ewan McGregor’s face just light up like a little boys’ after filming part of the lightsaber battle. People can talk shit about it all they want, but there is so much awesome in Episode 1. The pod race, young Obi-Wan Kenobi, Master Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul’s lightsaber battle and death, Padme Fucking Amidala, her dresses are gorgeous, the Jedi council, seeing Emperor Palpatine before his face got all fucked up,THE MUSIC, etc. Kinda went on a stoned tangent but you get my point. Episode 1 is awesome idgaf.
