“ i’ve been practicing. ” - Raphael

Raphael hummed in acknowledgment. She had been practicing Quechua; her pronunciation was better, her speech less stilted. Mostly the villagers found it endearing but incomprehensible, and swapped to Spanish or asked Raphael to translate. Sometimes his voice wasn't strong enough to talk and he'd watch Molly play an awkward game of charades with people, which to be fair she was very good at, being expressive and animated when she was excited, and being easily excited in the first place.

His breath caught. The light had changed while he'd been thinking. It was still daylight, like it had been, but brighter, sharper. There was a vial of salt in his hands, strings of knotted thread tied around his wrists. The table he'd been sitting at had been moved away, but the chair remained.

He knew without looking outside that it was Winter now. How long had he been frozen? Six months? Six years? Molly was gone, of course she was; there was no one in the church but him. He wondered how inconvenient it must have been to have a frozen man in the church for months or more, but he wasn't really a man anymore and he doubted anyone had looked at him like one. He was a markayuq like any other, and no one would dare think of moving him, or wanting him to be moved.

When he rose, there were no bugs on him and no dust. Someone had been taking care of him in the time he'd been away and the thought made him uncomfortable; he didn't want anyone touching him if he didn't know about it, even to keep the spiders away.

It jarred him to think that he might have been frozen for Molly's entire lifespan when he had spoken to her just two minutes ago.

Wherever she'd gone, he hoped she was alright.

All of Obey Me! As ice-cream flavors!

Lucifer is of course coffee ice cream, he literally NEEDS caffeine to function, he’s bitter at first, but becomes sweeter the more you’re around him

Mammon is mango, he’s so sweet like mangoes and also yummy like them (I may be biased)

Levi is chocolate chip, pretty basic but a very safe choice, he’s liked it forever and we all know how much he hates getting out of his comfort zone

Satan is a caramel ice cream fan, and he may or may not think it makes him superior to other people who like more basic options, because he chooses a flavor you don’t think about everyday (as if his own isn’t also kinda basic)

Asmo is vanilla! Which is such a contradiction to his personality, but it’s sweet and elegant, always a popular choice too!

Beel likes ALL ice cream but if he had to choose only one, it would be birthday cake flavor! It’s so yummy and has such appetizing colors!

Belphie’s favorite flavor is cookie dough, but he always chooses mint chocolate chip instead because it was Lilith’s favorite.

Diavolo like rocky road! It’s the castle favorite actually! But he enjoys pudding more personally.

Barbatos likes butter pecan, occasionally he will eat rocky road with Dia but he tends to stick to what he’s particular to.

Simeon is old, he doesn’t know slang, he can’t use the internet, and he likes pistachio ice cream, end of story.

Luke likes strawberry! It’s a sweet and soft treat and fits him perfectly.

Solomon only eats coconut. Because he’s weird. Yeah.

Thirteen likes cotton candy better than any other flavor (her pronouns are diabetes and her diet is cavities)

Raphael likes the ice cream that Solomon makes homemade (coconut but worse)

Miphisto likes chocolate and chocolate only.

Random TMNT 2012 Headcanons I Have (2):

Raph is right handed but he punches harder with his left and even prefers to use his left arm when arm wrestling.

Mona loves hot and spicy food. She has a high tolerance for that kind of stuff and is not affected at all by its burning taste.

April’s dad, Kirby, is a HUGE fan of Spaceheroes. He was a kid when the original series first aired on TV. Because of this, April was very familiar with the show and watched it a lot growing up. Her knowing Spaceheroes is what also started her close friendship with Leo.

Shinigami never knew her father, he abandoned her and her mother when she was still a baby.

Donnie loves peanut butter. His go-to snacks for him to eat always have peanut butter in it.

April and Mikey have been secretly creating an organized file full of ideas, pictures and vision boards for Raph and Mona Lisa’s wedding, hoping one day soon they’ll get engaged and when they do, April and Mikey will be ready to be their wedding planners.

In middle school, April had a punk phase.

Renet is highly allergic to cats, this worried Mikey regarding his pet, Ice Cream Kitty, but to their surprise Renet doesn’t get an allergic reaction from ICK. She’s the only cat Renet can be around so Mikey lets Renet play with her all the time.

Mona Lisa has a fascination with reality TV shows and is 100% convinced that they are in fact REAL.

After Splinter’s death, Casey felt guilty about how he treated/looked at Splinter. He felt he could’ve bonded with him more, seeing him as another father figure, but his phobia of rats got in the way of it. He’s mad at himself that he lost his chance to bond with a potential father figure because of his phobia and now tries to work on concurring his fear.

He was still dazed from Martel hitting him with his gun; a blunt, heavy blow over the head, hard enough to make the world go out of focus. He'd stopped feeling pain a long time ago but he still felt the impact long after Martel left the room. The lack of a dull, throbbing ache where there should have been one made him feel strange and disconnected.

Raphael didn't try to move away when Alan stepped forwards. There were still other men in the room--Quispe and a Spaniard whose name Raphael had never learned--and both of them were armed. Not feeling like being pistol whipped again, he swayed on his knees and let Alan yank his head up by the hair. It was unpleasant but painless.

"You must feel powerful," he said dryly, in Quechua because trying to remember English or Spanish felt impossible with how blurry his vision had gone. Probably it was better that way: no one in the room spoke it. "Standing in Martel's shadow, thinking it's yours. I hope he sends you back to Bedlam with me. I'd let you cross the border, consequences be damned."
