Japanese QL Corner
ICYMI: There are so many Japanese qls airing weekly, so I’m going to start posting this little round up at the end of each week. Most of these shows are on Gaga and I highly recommend watching!
Chaser Game W

We've reached the stage with this one where I'm just gonna say we should keep watching for the ratings and enjoy the pretty gifs.
Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna 2
Tumblr media
I got to watch episodes 5-8 of the new season this week, and I promptly lost my mind over how good this show is. It somehow got even better between seasons; the creators have some things to say about the experiences of women under heterosexual patriarchy. I already wrote about Kasuga's family trauma storyline and how much it meant to me, but these episodes also gave us Nomoto's ongoing queer awakening and journey to define her sexuality, the introduction of a new queer bestie in Yako, a better understanding of Nagumo and the careful and steady deepening of her relationship with the gals, a new confidant for Kasgua in Fujita, and Nomoto and Kasuga inching ever closer to defining what they are to each other. The world of the show and the support network around our leads continues to expand, and I am loving every moment. This drama is excellent and I cannot implore you enough to go to @furritsubs and catch up.
My Strawberry Film
Tumblr media
Kicking off the last Drama Shower show of the season! This is a high school story featuring a classic trio—the Pining Gay, the Chaos Bisexual, and the Budding Lesbian. Obviously, I love them. I like the mood of this one—it's quite a tonal shift from the last show in this series—and the color grading is blue, blue, blue. And there's a mystery afoot as they try to track down the beautiful girl captured on film. Looking forward to more!

I continue to love this show, though I am not entirely sure how I feel about the turn things took with Mizuki this week. I did not really want this to go the full blown love triangle route; I am more interested in a version of this story where Sakae and Soga try to figure out these adult complications from the foundation of being in a relationship, not with the constant interference of a third party. So few dramas are willing to get the couple together early and let them face things together rather than constantly playing the will they, won't they game, and I was hoping Sukidoya was going to be one of them. That said, I like that Mizuki is sticking around in the story because he's an interesting character, and I like the conflict with Soga's job (we have a preponderance of Japanese shows about unreasonable work conditions airing atm) and the temporary nature of his time in Osaka. That he's worried about eventually leaving tells you all you need to know about how much he likes and respects Sakae. If he felt casual about him he would not be worried about complications that far down the timeline. Let's see where they take this love triangle thing next week; I'm hoping it will be brief.
Perfect Propose
Tumblr media
Great episode this week, and I love the way they continue to deepen the backstory for these two. Hiro being the first person to need Kai rather than pity him makes so much sense for their dynamic and why Kai would be so attached to him. And of course, when Kai returns the situation is the same; Hiro definitely still needs him. I love that they took a source of shame for Hiro and turned it into a reason why he and Kai are so compatible. Kai wants to take care of him—and he's not the only one! Loved seeing Hiro's coworkers express concern for his well-being and recognize how this job is grinding him down and breaking his spirit. It was so validating to hear from another high performer that the job is miserable and he should quit. It has nothing to do with failure; as Kaneko said, it's about seeking the life he truly wants. He sees Hiro's talent and knows he will not be able to flourish in this hellish work environment, and I thought it was so kind and compassionate of him to try to help Hiro see that. Also shoutout to Hiyori for sitting her ass back down and missing the last train when she realized prime gossip was about to arrive to her table, she's just like me fr.
Ossan's Love Returns
Tumblr media
We are clearly in the drama spiral for the season now, and this show seems to be coming for my beloved Kurosawa. Thanks, I hate it! But the show found its humor again this week even as the sad plotlines for the side characters continued, and I was very happy to see it back in top form. I loved this story with Maki and Haruta caring for Goro for the week, and how it affirmed for them that they are actually not interested in having children. I told @bengiyo and @twig-tea when we saw last week's preview that Maki seemed like the type who wouldn't like children, and I was glad to see that affirmed by the show, and crucially, that he didn't change his mind via the power of Goro's cuteness. Not all people want to be parents, and it's so nice and refreshing to see a loving couple decide they just want to focus on each other, and that you can like kids and spend time with them without needing to have one of your own. I loved, too, that we got some focus on Chizu's struggles as a single mom, and her family rallied around her and made it clear she has support. Takegawa's sudden not-at-all-selfishly-motivated interest in polyamory was hilarious, as was Chief's journey to figure out what was causing his stress—until it wasn't, of course. I was glad Chuoko was with him when he got the news. And I am really hoping that rooftop kiss was Kiku's goodbye, and we will be seeing him move on from Izumi soon.
Bonus: Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai
Tumblr media
Shoutout to @my-rose-tinted-glasses for giffing this show and reminding me I still hadn't seen it! It was not accessible to me back when it came out and it fell off my radar for awhile. I watched today and thought it was just delightful. A short, sweet, warm hug of a friends to lovers high school bl with two very lovable leads. I highly recommend checking it out.

quarter three book favorites! (qts 1 & 2) once again, in the order in which i read them:
I'm gonna cheat and list three witch books I read in a row because they're all kinda linked in my head: The Change, about three women who gain magic powers after they go through menopause, The Witches of Moonshyne Manor about a coven of witches in their eighties who must protect their home, and The Rules of Magic, a prequel to Practical Magic- though I preferred the even farther reaching Magic Lessons.
The Fifth Season by NK Jemisin is a really hard book to describe haha but it is as great as everyone says it is.
Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson is a really fun, voicey mystery. A complicated family reunion at a ski lodge gets more complicated when people start dying.
Painted Devils by Margaret Owen is the sequel to one of my favorite fairy tale retellings, Little Thieves. I'll admit this one isn't nearly as good as the first, but still pretty great.
Sisters of the Lost Nation by Nick Medina is a mystery novel about an Indigenous teenager who dives into the mystery of the missing women on her reservation after her sister disappears. This is marketed as a horror and I think that's a bit of a mistake- the horror is in the epidemic of missing and murdered indigenous women, and this book is not a fast-paced slasher or thriller. It is great though.
Northranger by Rey Terciero is a graphic novel, and it's a queer, modern retelling of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. So fun! Lots of discussion of horror media and how it both helps and hurts queer people.
Vampires of el Norte by Isabel Canas is a gothic historical romance set in Mexico, as vaqueros attempt to stop the invasion of the United States- and the vampires. Mostly a romance, but so delightful.
Better Living Through Birding by Christian Cooper was a fantastic memoir! Written by the Black man who was birding in Central Park when a white woman called the cops on him, this memoir is primarily about how much Cooper loves birds and what it was like for him to grow up gay, Black, and nerdy. Highly recommend the audiobook, which is read by Cooper and his passion comes through his voice so beautifully.
Carmilla by J Sheridan Le Fanu is a gothic classic that I'd never read, and I really enjoyed it! I love classic vampires.
The September House by Carissa Orlando is a delightful haunted house book about a woman who refuses to leave her haunted victorian manor. It has a turret, after all! She is annoyed when her adult daughter comes to investigate, because she knows that her daughter will just overreact to the bleeding walls. Fun and funny, with a lovely amount of depth about why families hide things from each other.

im 24 eps deep into house so here are thoughts
i like it a lot. it's formulaic, its problem of the week focused, it's wide range cast of characters who have their depths...now that i'm thinking about it, it's probably the same reason i enjoyed scrubs a lot? what can i say medical dramas. when you have cynics making cruel jokes on your show, im hooked.
that being said its so 2000s. and house is a lot more cruel than your average asshole with a heart of gold, especially in the earlier eps. but it is literally 20 years old so
not as gay/queer baity as i thought it would be at the start. im very in love with robert sean leonards face and ive been desperate to see him; feels like the eps are very contained with their scenes, throwing me a Wilson scene or a Cuddy scene only every so often (but they dont usually have anything to do with the problem of the week so i get it. the fact that house and wilson are supposed to vaguely be holmes and watson expies made me think they would spend more time with each other. and im pretty sure they do in later seasons, but im very impatient)
literally every other episode has an actor i recognize. usually im not good with that, but there have been a ridiculous amount of child actors whos faces i know and older actors who stuff ive enjoyed. also so many of the young men patients of the week on this show have such pretty eyelashes. its so 2000s with the mascara and the lashes. i cant properly explain it.
fave characters are Wilson (for his face and his niceboy nature) and Foreman. Despite his conservative politics, I like the respect he commands from House whenever the latter is willing to admit it, and ive spoiled myself on the fact that he becomes dean of the hospital towards the end, which just validates me on thinking hes the best of the first round of underlings. (i may have spoiled myself on a couple of things but im just not gonna think about it until they come to pass.) Foreman can be very kind and thoughtful, despite how wrong he can be sometimes and he's so very skilled.
this show is so white. but its the 2000s so i should be grateful two women are even major cast members at all (even if Cameron is so misogynized (<- not a real word but i hope you get what i mean)) and speaking of misogyny. Cuddy is so fucking hot, im so glad they keep making her wear low cut shirts all the time.
its so nice how slowburn it is, compared to shows these days. They got a full 22 episode first season, and they didn't have a major villain arc until towards the end of the first season and they didn't even bother to reveal house's tragic backstory until the penultimate episode of the first season. they could afford to be a lot slower 20 years ago and those first few episodes (my disgust with house's casual misogyny and racism aside) are very good and compelling (though i am grateful they veered away from the colouring or whatever of the pilot. just a little too dramatic for my tastes) we've only barely touched on character backstories but everyone has gotten a decent few focus episodes which is lovely. (except Cuddy but i know she gets a focus ep later and also there are literally 8 seasons of this show i have time)
anyways looking forward to this show unfolding and expanding some more while trying to save people.
also could not believe the first death of the show (that i could remember) was the mixed race lesbian couple's baby. what a 2000s move.

A bit ago you asked for podcast app recommendations. Do you have any recommendations for podcasts to listen to?
These are all the ones I listen to, I'll add a little summary for each one if that's alright.
Stuff You Missed in History Class: This podcast has been going for over a decade, starting in 2008. The format has changed since its inception and honestly, you don't need to go through the entire playlist (unless you want to!). Each episode is about a certain event, figure, or theme from history with show notes that cite their sources, and the hosts are very upfront about where and how they got their information. Some of these subjects are two-parters, but that's the exception and not the rule mostly. I enjoy learning about new things from history or, if I know the bare basics of them, I enjoy learning more in depth information. My suggestion is to just scroll through and see what topic interests you.
Criminalia: This is another history podcast, but each season focuses on a certain type of crime, with each episode focusing on someone in that theme. At the end of each episode, the hosts also make up a cocktail and mocktail inspired by the subject that day. (The first two seasons don't have mocktails because they only realized how popular a non-alcoholic version would be after season three where they made mocktails to go with the "imposter" theme and they got really good feedback about it.) Some of the seasons are hit or miss for me, but even if I don't necessarily like the theme, the episode is still good to listen to from a learning standpoint.
DNA: ID: One of my true crime podcasts. I like this one because it focuses more on how DNA testing has solved cold cases using genetic genealogy. I also appreciate that the host doesn't use full names to protect the privacy of a lot of people in the story. She uses full names for victims and perpetrators, and some family, but people who turned out not to be involved in the case are given initials. My only beef is that she does so much research on the cases, but she doesn't extend that to learning how to pronounce some non-English names. However, otherwise, she does treat each case with a lot of gravity and respect, so. Idk. She's recently started interspersing solved cases with cases seeking more information on recently identified Does so that's pretty cool.
Dear Hank & John: It's a comedy podcast about death, where two brothers give you dubious advice and bring you all the news about both Mars and AFC Wimbledon. They're currently on a "we'll update if Hank feels like it" schedule because Hank is currently going through chemotherapy but they have 372 episodes to tide you over in the meantime. I enjoy it a lot because I enjoy the Green brothers' sense of humor, and on the occasions that one of the brothers is away for something, their guest host is always interesting.
Good Assassins: Part historical, part true crime. I've only just started this one so I'm gonna copy and paste the summary because I don't think otherwise I would do it justice: A spy story. A detective case. The mission was simple: to arrange the death of one man. The goal was to send a message to all Nazi fugitives around the world: "we can find you and we can kill you." This is the true story of an undercover mission to hunt down a savage Nazi murderer who helped Hitler’s forces kill 30,000 men, women, and children. The survivors gave him a name after the Holocaust: The Butcher of Latvia. The spies would travel halfway around the world to carry out the sentence. The mission wasn’t for one life. It was for 6 million.
Welcome to Night Vale: This was the first queer media I consumed since I watched Tara die in BtVS. I was tired of kill your gays so I simply didn't consume any queer content. This show simultaneously healed me and hollowed me out for all the other shows that could have been this good. I like each story line, I like the additional novels, and I like the weather. This is my comfort show. I start it from the beginning every time I catch up to the recent updates.
Good Morning Night Vale: The official recap show of WtNV. It's hosted by Meg Bashwiner (she voices Deb, a sentient patch of haze), Symphony Sanders (she voices Tamika Flynn, the former teenage militia leader, current City Counsel member), and Hal Lublin (he voices Steve Carlsberg, Cecil's brother-in-law). I feel like I'm hanging out with friends talking about Night Vale when I listen to it. :) I think if you like recap shows, it's a good one.
The Murder Chronicles: Ngl I started this in season one where it was called The Shadow Girls, which I started because it was advertised as a deep dive into the Green River Killer's victims instead of just being about him. I was interested because the host was in the same age range as GRK's victims and she talks extensively about how scary it was for girls her age at the time. She also goes into how the police failed the victims and why, and also how it affected her. It also has a push for one of the victims to get the reward she was promised for turning Ridgway in. It felt like a cause. The second season is more about other true crimes which is... fine. Doesn't have the same heart that the first season did, but does include interviews with the detectives who worked on the cases, though, which I find interesting. Idk it's not really doing much for me anymore so I might drop it.
Scene of the Crime: Delphi: This is a podcast that (ostensibly) focuses on one case per season, but it's literally just one season and then a ton of advertisements from other podcasts from their company. That being said, they went forward with the families' permission, including numbers for people to leave tips to the police. Since they have the permission of the family (and interviews with some family members, even) it's one of the few that I'm comfortable with. That being said, I'm only subscribed to it still in case there's another update in the case. They don't seem to have published any episodes in a while.
These are the ones I listen to on Amazon Music, which are all true crime:
Cold: It's a narrative podcast focused on missing persons cases. It's got three seasons-- Season one is about Susan Powell, season two is about Joyce Yost, and season three is about Sheree Warren. They're well-researched and use recordings from the victims/perpetrators which is very interesting. The host seems to have permission from the families (at least the first season seems so) but even if he didn't, he doesn't make emotionally charged statements. He states the facts. I'd even go so far as to say the most emotion he ever shows is when he talks about why Susan Powell's case means so much to him.
Suspect: It's an investigative series about mislaid justice and the kinds of weighty decisions that detectives, lawyers, and jurors make every day - decisions that, once made, are almost impossible to reverse. Both of these seasons are incredibly interesting, including interviews with people involved in the cases. There hasn't been a new episode since February, but it's still a good show to go back to, I think.
Killer Psyche Daily: This podcast is hosted by former FBI profiler Candice DeLong, who I'd actually heard of (worked on the Unabomber case). It's a short, daily podcast (tenish minutes per podcast) where she draws on her years of experience to break down current criminal cases for laymen to understand, look back on historic crimes, and share insight on how the mind of a killer works. On one hand, it definitely errs on the side of police. However, she was also law enforcement, so it makes sense and doesn't really annoy me. On the other hand, she also has a lot of insight on the psychology of criminals, and she has guests on regularly who also have a lot of information to add to current cases who don't come across as pro-police.
There are a handful of others that I've listened to on and off but obviously they haven't really stuck with me.

oh hey is it time to go watch old media until the writer's strike is over
welp here's my list, i highly recommend adding onto it or making your own
sit-coms
Better Off Ted (office comedy about a pretty decent guy who manages the R&D department of your standard big capitalist (evil) company. absurd, sincere, and blessedly not nihilistic.)
Golden Girls (four older women living together. openly touched upon topics like gay people are human beings actually and so are people without houses. and this was in the 80s.)
Murphy Brown (Reporter/news presenter workplace comedy. i like eldin)
WKRP (set in a radio station, this one is a pain to find unedited anywhere because of music licensing nonsense)
Designing Women (i haven't actually watched much of this yet but i heard it's pretty good so i'm listing it here in hopes i'll remember to check it out)
british panel / comedy shows (ok so they're like game shows, except the prizes range from useless to nonexistent, all the contestants are comedians, and nobody really cares that much who wins. ,fair warning though, these are british. so you're just gonna get a certain amount of jokes that are like "yup an old cishet white dude sure did write that")
Would I Lie to You (contestants make ridiculous claims and the opposing team has to guess if it's real or not)
8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown (not "8 out of 10 Cats". not "Countdown". specifically "8 out of 10 cats does countdown". yes this is important)
Taskmaster (five contestants perform a series of increasingly silly tasks to try to score points)
Big Fat Quiz of the Year / Decade (a series of long quiz specials where comedians often fail, intentionally or otherwise, to answer questions)
crime/detective/spy shows (cw copaganda. bc that's the entire genre)
Columbo (did you know it's ALL on the internet archive? for FREE?)
Simon and Simon (private investigators who are also brothers, a bit more on the fun side. pretty good for the 80s, but be warned you're still gonna get some dopey tropes like ableism in certain episodes.)
Rockford Files (ex-convict PI. doesn't like guns, friends with his dad. cynical but can't help helping people most of the time. we love to see it. like the two above, it's older but it holds up)
Brooklyn 99 (much like columbo, everybody already knows this one)
Burn Notice (recent ex-spy stuck in miami tries to get his job back. an unfortunate amount of ogle-y filler shots. I liked the first 4 seasons and low key recommend stopping after it, but everybody's mileage varies.)
and finally, because i know who i a:
cartoons
Motorcity (what if the only answer to an oppressive conformist society was UNDERGROUND TEENS WITH CARS and it looked AMAZING and it was KILLED AFTER 20 EPISODES BECAUSE THERE IS NO GOD)
Storm Hawks (what if the only answer to a returning evil empire was SKY TEENS WITH AIRPLANE MOTORCYCLES, side note this is like the only time i've ever seen stylized 3D animation in a way that just looks? good?? i would love to see more stuff try this kind of direction instead of aiming for anime or realism)
Generator Rex (a teen with TRANSFORMING MUTANT MACHINE POWERS fights alongside a kinda sus organization to try to save others who have transformed into dangerous mutants. i haven't finished this one and im not a fan of the monkey character but dam this show kinda slaps)
Teen Titans (TEEN SUPERHEROES. i have a soft spot for this show. it was my first superhero show as a kid and still mostly holds up as good fun)
Spectacular Spider-Man (spider-man has a lotta cartoons by now but this is up there near the top i feel)
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (it's PRETTY it's CUTE it's FUNNY and only has a few episodes i would outright skip. i stopped enjoying it by the last couple seasons but i still think it's worth a watch if you haven't yet)
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THIS WORLD WATCH THIS SHOW DEAR GODS IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE IT'S SO MUCH FUN AND I LOVE MY IDIOT SONS SO MUCH AND THEN IT PUNCHES YOU RIGHT IN THE EMOTIONS WHEN YOU AREN'T EXPECTING IT-)
and Bluey. watch Bluey.
AIGHT THAT'S IT FOR NOW honestly i could add more to this but my memory ain't that good
✨enjoy✨

Hiiiii <3 I remember you talking about the boys comics vs the show, and I just finished the third season and it's really funny to me how almost every time there's an interesting storyline happening the little trivia window on Amazon says something like "this was not on the comics this was invented by the TV show" . Like yeah I'm not surprised lol
What character do you think is the most improved by the show? Is there anything that you think was actually better in the comics or is it just trash altogether?
hiii!! first off, SO glad you're enjoying it!! second off good god this may be long (i love to hate on mr ennis) so. under a cut :3
As for characters, let me first give a small run down of how every woman is treated in the comic:
the female (as she um. does not have a name in the comics) has barely any development other than oh she was raised in a fucked up lab and her mom sucks and that she and frenchie kind of have something going on. all of the really good stuff during the show w her brother or just... any of it is not there. again i need to emphasize she does not have a name. ennis does not care enough to give her an alt form of communication (like in the show, her teaching frenchie her own sign is SUCH a good thing. not in the comics lmao)
starlight. oh god where do i even START. so where the show handles her sa well and respectfully, um. well you see mr ennis loves to put rape in his stories and also loves to be bad to women. so its MULTIPLE scenes with her (where like. all of the men of the team line up for her to give them a bj. which to me really kind of... ruins the messaging he could have been going thru). hughie is like... genuinely really bad about her sa in the comics (as in. when he finds out via butcher getting tapes of the headquarters and purposefully setting it up so hughie SEES HER GETTING SA'D and goes to confront her about it. its great ennis loves women) and he BLAMES HER FOR IT. and then dumps her. and hes not supposed 2 be in the wrong there so thats great.
the only thing w her character that i DID like was at the start of the comics, she was pretty religious and as it went on, she started to lose her faith in religion bc she didnt get why jesus would let this happen to her. which was imo an interesting take but also ennis is OBSESSED w shitting on religion so like. its not surprising i guess that hes putting that in there lmao. she never really gets to confront the members of the team who REPEATEDLY either do/attempt to sa her other than doing a threat once or twice. theres none of the commentary on how society views women heroes or anything like that with her (i cannot emphasize enough that they kept like. the intro for the comics in terms of what kickstarted stuff and then just like... left the rest behind. which was for the best bc my god i think if u counted the amt of slurs and just bad stuff overall you would lose count (ik i did)).
maeve. good god its bad. so she was there when... homelander had part in 9/11 (tldr for that incident: in the comics, the supes are sent out to prevent one of the planes that was gonna hit (i believe the pentagon?) and then ended up crashing it elsewhere. but the plane scene in the show was THAT plot point done better) and that just made her become an alcoholic. and that is like 99% of her character in the comics. it is so so shitty bc the show did SO much w her and the comics just... did not.
the other non prominent women (stormfront was a man in the comics for like... clarification) are all... well what we call the ennis morality compass victims. a lot of the comics are the boys going to learn abt a supe group and learning they did smth bad (which youd think murder. or like smth equally bad. youd be wrong) and then its revealed that they are having orgies, being GASP gay, or being mentally ill (there is an entire team that hughie goes undercover w that the ... entire joke is that theyre too nice bc theyre not as mentally stable as the boys are. one of the bits is one of the teammates has tourettes so he has tics of just saying fuck or something similar and its treated as a joke). so if theyre not mentally ill or being gay or doing something that ennis sees as kind of fucked up (as the entirety of the comics is a test to how much garbage he can put in one series) theyre being used solely as sex objects. its pretty bad to put it lightly.
the men dont get out of the bad writing treatment either but. the women get it the worst. as for who gets improved the most, id say easily kimiko (it is NIGHT AND DAY) or maybe oddly enough butcher (his comic issues are... bad. we would be here all day if i got into them). and MM. oh my god you do not want to know how he was handled in the comics. honestly there isnt a character that DIDNT get improved a ton, all of them did. i dont know how the writers pulled it off but it is infinitely better for everyone.
as for anything i liked more... honestly not much. i think the shock value didn't work most of the time because ennis just made it the ENTIRE comics point to be edgy. i guess the fact homelander is bi in the comics is kind of funny but its just... not handled well (shocker right). as i mentioned earlier, i think the stuff with starlight starting out as super devote to religion and then becoming disenchanted with it was interesting. the only other really good thing about it is the art. it is HIDEOUS but i feel it kind of is intentional against the comic art of the time (as the artist is genuinely amazing outside of that). oh and if you can ignore all of the bad stuff, there was a kind of cool plot point that the show hasnt hit yet/wont touch, where they discuss the comics in the world with the context of them being propaganda. one of the owners of the local comic shop used to be a comic editor, and discusses how the comics were used to cover up the bad deeds that the supes were doing irl. it was an interesting take, especially since a lot of older comics WERE propaganda (ie like the wwii era comics are INSANE propaganda). tldr do not fucking touch the comics unless you want to see how many slurs ennis wants to drop (too many).

waiting for a pizza to arrive and for a cake to cool enough to frost in honor of @malafight's birfday
SO gonna start the next episode
s2 ep7 reunion! (last ep of the second season by Netflix's numbering)
Tumblr media
she still sleeps on a hard cot, just a pretty one ;_;
but also don't sleep with your hair up like that you will ruin your hair and your hairline omg
Tumblr media
but also why do you sleep with A KNIFE
Tumblr media
I mean yay this is the episode where we meet Bow's dads but also, again, trans!Bow headcanons stay winning
Tumblr media
THE SOCKS WITH SANDALS LOLOL
Tumblr media
aahaha
Tumblr media
bless the animators for this one aaaaahahah (she thought she spotted Shadow Weaver)
Tumblr media
omg he has a First Ones tattoo that's like us having a tattoo in like cuneiform. Or maybe Latin.
Tumblr media
THIRTEEN??????
Tumblr media
he says, in front of two princesses who are currently involved in a war
plot plot one of his dads fought in the original war and came back to his village destroyed and vowed to never get mixed up "princesses and their war" ever again
Tumblr media
look I know Bow's giving a little speech about his dads but my brain saw this and went "...communion wafers?!"
(my church doesn't even DO wafers we do home-made gluten free bread)
OKAY so I remember when I saw this episode the first time, it occurred to me that in any other show, Bow pretending to go to a boarding school only to ACTUALLY be a rebel fighter would be an obvious analogy for being gay! Oh wait I found that post.
...why does Bow call his dads by their first names
also Adora keeps pronouncing everything in something weirdly close to a bad French accent--like putting the emphasize on the wrong syllables of any given word or phrase on a misguided attempt at sounding smart
Tumblr media
another one for the "never pause she-ra" subreddit
also the SOUNDS Catra makes, the voice actor must've really had a good time with this one ahahaha
Tumblr media
FANGIE (it took multiple tries to get this one)
but yeah Scorpia's attempt at comfort/cuddling did lead to Catra shouting her actual problem so it kinda worked
but yeah Hordak's little recorder baby heard the whole thing
BACK TO BOW'S DADS
cackling at them correcting "She-Ra." "We think it was 'Her-Ra'"
Tumblr media
....i'm gonna have to edit the reddit post to add this one
Watching Bow's dads argue about whether Serenia was a real person sounds like people arguing over whether people from the Bible were real lol (for the record: in some cases we have outside evidence they existed and in some cases we do not)
Tumblr media

As someone who, again, was a child in the 1980's, the subversion of some tropes is just very, very pleasing.

That, and the sheer degree to which this is a HUGE analogy for coming out. Like. They hit all the narrative beats of people who are scared to come out only to find out their parents are actually fine with it.

On a personal note: when I was 25 and told my mom I had a girlfriend, her response was, and I quote, "Ew!" To which I responded: "Why are you picturing it, mom?!"
My dad figured out I wasn't straight before I told him, the same way a lot of people did, which was that I was (am) completely unsubtle about checking people out. (My brothers told me about this, side note; they'd overheard him trying to convince my mom I was bisexual and my mom kept saying "but she's had so many boyfriends" and my dad and brothers were like "do you know what bisexual means???")
That said when I realized I was gay and not into men anymore, I told my dad in the kitchen on Christmas after a couple glasses of wine by just blurting out completely apropos of nothing, "I think I'm just gay," to which he responded with a shrug and "Yeah, alright." Like, sure it could've gone better but also tbqfh it could've gone worse, so I'll take it.
(As mentioned on previous posts my dad is dead. My mom is completely chill about my partners.)

I'm back from my mandatory two day socialization recovery period required for all socialization even if I enjoy it. It's time for some Mermaid!Din au thoughts (No thots unfortunately but we'll live)
First off I love the isolation that the reader faces because of the lighthouse they live in. And I love how the townspeople being nice to the reader help give them a reason to stick around when weird things start happening.
I love how it took months before anything strange starts happening, like were Din and Grogu just not around or were they observing the reader. Did Din ever try to stop Grogu from damaging the lighthouse or did he let the little rascal do as he pleased.
· And gosh I love the idea of reader dressing in old worn clothing, a knit sweater with fraying sleeves, sweat pants covered in paint from repairs, an old windbreaker to help keep the cold out. It makes me heart all warm and fuzzy.
Edna, who i've head cannoned as this series Miss Chatham (H2O: just add water charter) is honestly life goals. Like live near ocean - check(ish), have rare knowledge that can be used to help new person - check, being just slightly spooky -amazing. And is that a little matchmaker I see her playing? I love it.
Then Grogu being injured :( I bet that Din is absolutely being eaten alive by guilt even though we all know it’s not his fault and he does literally anything he can to keep Grogu safe and happy.
And In love how Din is venerable enough to ask for help, like he recognizes that this is something out of his area of expertise so he goes to the person he knows is “safe” to get help. He’s humble enough to admit that he needs help and is not capable of doing everything for Grogu. And being able to admit that is an important life skill that not enough people have.
· But even after he ask the reader for help he is still hesitant which shows that even though hes trusting reader he will still kick (is it still a kick if its with a tail) the readers ass if he hurts him.
“But you can help him” Oh my heart the trust in that sentence. Like Din just heard, “so yeah I can help your son but I have to take him somewhere it will be hard for you to follow. And he needs to stay there for at least a week, and even if you manage to come its going to be so far from your natural element.” But he was still on board with the plan. And then he goes to climb on the rock so he can drag himself all the way to the light house because he can’t let his little boy go alone even if it means hurting himself to do it.
Reader was smart af for doing the old blanket slipperaroo trick
Reader immediately knowing something was up when she walked into town is so realistic. She literally is hiding a massive secret at her lighthouse of course anyone would be on edge walking back into society. Especially a society that already knows a little something about the secret. But them to amplify it. Miss Chatham to the rescue. She knows that reader is up to something and she uses her powers as an old lady with lungs and karen potential to scare off the problem for a little bit. The reader just placed so much trust on Edna by straight up telling her that she's housing Din and Grogu.
· Also that fool browsing the menstrual hygiene rack, like dumbass. Is this your way of making him miss every shot? Because we know that storm troopers are well known for their ability to miss every shot so making him automatically turn to tampons? Genius
Cashier for the win, like beep beep bitch now pay up
The "cyare" omg and then the reader warning Din about the cookies and him being so curious about them. The way Din is so perceptive of the readers mood that he is already able to tell that something is wrong. It was such a smart idea to have the reader lead with asking him to give her a small chance to calm down about what happened in the town.
Din and the reader low-key flirting and teasing each other at the end is so adorable. Grogu with the cookie absolutely melts my heart like of course that boy is hungry.
So this is a slightly polished layout of my stream of consciousness while reading this. Does it make sense? Probably not. But I love this idea and you have done it justice.
Ahhhhhhz thank you for all of the lovely thoughts and compliments, im glad you like my story and I hope it continuesto meet your expectations!!!! And you made perfect sense darling!
To reply to some things:
Honestly, I chose the isolation for two reasons, 1- it made sense, especially for how the plot is going to play out, privacy and isolation is needed, and 2- im introverted and I like being alone, so I just projected
The town's people are great! They are used to having lighthouse keepers just up and leave because of all the weird stuff, so the second that one sticks around they were all overjoyed, because like I said, a lot of the people work on boats fishing so the lighthouse is super important to them
Din did wait and observe the reader, wanting to know what to do when to attempt to scare them off. But also like no, he tried keeping Grogu away from the lighthouse as much as possible, not knowing what the reader might do to him, and just being a protective father, but we all know Grogu is a little shit and he snuck out before Din could stop him
Reader dresses in the COMFIEST clothes, and honestly, I am very much a sweater and comfy leggings kind of person, so again, something I am projecting
I love that you and everyone is loving Edna, she is definitely one of those cool old ladies that sneak you treats and shenanigans when no one is looking!
Also because idk if anyone has pointed it out.... in the last chapter I thought I was heavily hinting at it, but maybe it was more subtle than I thought, Edna and her MERMAID were alot more than friends *wink wink* she's gay as fuck and thats why she made the joke about not liking NUTS
Din loves Grogu, in and out of this AU, and it was 1000% not his fault that Grogu got hurt, in fact he was trying to protect him! Din definitely panicked and the first person that came to mind was the reader, and while he didn't know them, he knew for some reason they were safe to go to for help (as well as knowing the lighthouse would be a good place to hide while some things cooled down 👀), but Din will always be cautious because he is scared for his son
Din is just *chef's kiss* 👌, an amazing father who will do ANYTHING for his son, no matter what it takes
The whole blanket thing literally came from my childhood, thinking about how my sisters and I would drag eachother around on blankets, and I just thought it would be great for this scenario
Like the reader is gonna get real paranoid during this series, im not going to lie to you, things are gonna get rough, but Edna is the MVP she's one of those people that could pull your darkest secrets from you just by glancing at you, and the reader pretty much assumed she was safe to talk to after she had informed her about the food offerings
Ok ok, as for the dudes, I was too lazy to look up their names and stuff but they were these dudes from season 1 that gave Din Grogu's bounty: the first dude is the one 'hiding' in the women's hygiene section
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Din is just obsessed for human food at this point, and he feels things for the reader even of he doesn't want to admit it quite yet
Din also may be oblivious as fuck, but he's also observant, hes a bounty hunter for fucks sake, he needs to be able to pick up on these things, so yes in my stories Din is really good at picking up on emotions, even if he doesn't fully know how to react to them
Im aiming for a slow burn foc, but to be honest with you all, chances are it is going to be a regularly paced romance, which for my writing is slow paced, so yeah the idiots are flirting and teasing eachother, but also like they will not be talking about or admitting feelings for at least a few more chapters
Grpgu deserves all the cookies!!! He's a growing tadpole, who has been magically healing himself while in a coma like state, so he hasnt eaten in days, and if he wanted he'd probably be able to devour 2x his body weight and then some, so a few cookies recieved in some kind of mysterious way are well achieved

Hey Cam! It's the roommate anon again.
Thank you for your response. Also, thank you for recommending me that interview. It actually worked pretty well as a distraction. Like I'm still anxious, but I'm definitely calmer than before.
I've never actually watched a Dianna interview or TV show or movie before. I'd seen a few Glee clips before where she was in the background, but besides that, I really didn't know anything about her.
So, I wasn't sure what to expect, but she seems so nice? Like she was very, very likeable in that interview. I really enjoyed watching it.
Also, her speaking voice is super attractive lmao.
I really like melodic kinda voices. Roomie's voice is very melodic which is part of the reason that I like hearing her speak so much. It kinda rises and falls. And Dianna's voice is pretty melodic too. I really like the way she speaks. Also, she's VERY pretty.
I think that I may have to add her to my list of female celeb crushes 👀
Do you have any favorite movies or TV shows that she's acted in? I might watch some. Maybe I can watch them with roomie actually.
And has she ever played any gay roles before? I think that it'd be cool to watch those ones too, except I'd probably have to watch them alone just in case roomie freaks out like she has done in the past at scenes with queer women in lol.
Also, I've never actually heard one of your podcast episodes before, but I'm planning on listening to the one that you recommended tomorrow! <3
dianna’s most famous role is quinn fabray on glee which is on Netflix in the states but she goes away for the most part after season 3...i cannot stand glee but lots of oomfs like it and it is dianna’s most prolific role and yes...she does go gay for a bit in glee 👀 (actually has swiftgron implications because taylor tweeted about the episode)
Tumblr media
but other project in which she goes gay are Bare and Hollow in the Land which are not...GREAT movies but they’re at least watchable imo
her best project is shiva baby which has a wlw storyline though dianna is not gay in it, it is BY FAR the best project she’s ever done like very very very good and funny.  it’s on apple plus or you can rent it online too i think.
novitiate is another gay movie she’s in but it’s a bit slow for my taste and then the family is another movie she’s in that i like and it’s on netflix.
can’t wait to hear what you think of her projects or the pod if you listen!
love you angel you’re gonna be ok!

If you find the energy and willingness to do so, I'm super interested in why you don't agree with Dean being a closeted queer person. (Not trying to start anything, I'm genuinely interested.)
Sure! Well, “closeted” is a word that I don’t find particularly fecund in an analysis, or in general, because "being closeted” has meaning in relation to something - like, for instance, you’re closeted to your parents, you’re closeted in your workplace, you’re closeted to everyone outside of the internet, you’re closeted to people you’re not very close to, etc. And sure, you can be closeted to everyone on the planet, but if you exclude people who haven’t told a single soul, there is no such thing as “being in the closet” in an absolute sense. You can come out to one person and you’re not in the closet in relation to them, but still in the closet in relation to everyone else. You can come out to literally everyone you have ever had a conversation with, but technically, unless you’re going around with a t-shirt that says “I’m queer”, you are “in the closet”, as in “not out”, to a person you’re meeting or getting to know for the first time.
This said, I have seen people using that word to mean - if I’ve interpreted it correctly - that Dean is either a) in the closet in relation to everyone; b) closeted to himself, so to speak, as in, he doesn’t realize and/or acknowledge and/or accept that he’s not heterosexual.
I don’t agree with either. Now, I’m gonna put here the disclaimer that this is my interpretation since Dean’s bisexuality/queerness is not stated textually in the show thus we’re talking on a level of signs and attribution of meanings (*insert something smart about semiotics*) and blah blah blah.
Allow me not to be specific with, like, references to lines spoken in the show in this post, maybe when I am done with my thesis and all will get the time to make a thorough analysis with specific references.
Now, do I think that Dean went up to his dad and told him “I like girls and guys lol”? ... Nope. At all. (But being closeted in relation to someone doesn’t really mean anything. Being out isn’t an all or nothing thing. You can go to pride parades wearing feathers and still keep it hidden from your dad. There are people who wait for their parents or grandparents to die before publicly coming out or transition. It’s complex.) Do I think Dean went up to Sam or Bobby and told them “I like girls and guys”? I don’t think so, as in, I don’t think he gave them a speech about being bisexual, but I think that both Sam and Bobby have at least a partial sense of Dean’s not-heterosexuality. Has Dean let his queerness known to people outside his family? Sure he has. On the top of my head, I can think of: Ash, Frank, Charlie (all hackers and queer or queer-coded, there is a pattern of association between hacking and queerness, but this is a thought for another day); Crowley was exchanging innuendo with him after 0.2 seconds of meeting and, well, Crowley has gotten to know Dean pretty intimately; and let’s be real there are characters who just looked at him and caught up because of reasons (Gunner Lawless comes to mind, I guess Aaron Bass, pretty sure Max Banes) and people who assumed and used it against him (the Campbells come to mind, no wonder the poor guy built 5739 walls around himself in season 6 and at some point was like “I was busy having sex with women”). It’s also implied that both he and Garth knew what the Purgatory in Miami was and that Dean expected Garth to get the joke, and Garth is another character that knows Dean beyond the façades. And then there’s a constellation of tiny moments that don’t mean anything on their own but in the context of what we know about Dean fit in the picture, like Jenna Nickerson feeling comfortable mentioning the first girl she’d kissed after knowing Dean for a short while.
At this point we’re left with “does Dean know he’s not straight” and, well, at this point it’s obvious but the thing is: Dean takes pride in his being anti-normative. Unlike Sam, he embraces his underclass identity, his not-normal identity. He acknowledges he’s a freak ever since day 1, and while he has heavy issues with the loneliness that comes with it, he uses it as an important brick in the construction of his identity. May I refer you to this conversation I had with @aslightsgoflashing and @f-ckyeahfutbol that touches this very topic.
Now, Dean’s relationship with his sexuality is extremely complex - we need, for instance, to count his experiences with sexual assault into it (I mentioned season 6 before, which also happens to be where he gets assaulted by a man in a sexually charged context, while I believe the other instances of sexual assault on him are carried out by women). Dean lives a life where is body is a) a commodity for the job, b) always at risk of being violated (in multiple ways, from wounds to possession). He’s always walking on a line between protecting his body and weaponizing it (it’s not a coincidence his body has been used as bait so often) and he that goes with sexuality too. He’s vocal in expressing knowledge of obscure kinky sexual practices, talking about how he’ll “try everything once” or whatever (but enjoying wearing pink panties is a secret...).
He builds his identity is a complex, ambiguous, ever-changing relationship with his body and his sexuality, and there’s nothing about him that suggests to me that he lives in a bubble where he doesn’t know he’s queer. Maybe he didn’t always (or ever) had the correct terminology for it or really conceptualized it, but in his twenties the guy knew his Pink Flamingos references (and Sam didn’t).
I think that among the reasons why Dean isn’t throwing himself at Cas’ feet and declaring his undying love for him, the fact that Cas has a dude body is, like, the last one on the list. I mean, I’m not saying he does not perceive men and women differently - he has different ways of relating to men and women due to the overwhelmingly homosocial context he’s lived pretty much his entire life, although he’s clearly developed a less sexist way of relating to women through the years - but his reluctance in opening himself to Cas is not due to some “gay panic” thing. I mean, it would be pretty diminishing to read it as just that.
So... well, these are my two cents on the topic :)

Hi Red! I recently started the second season of Supergirl and OH MY GOD I don't think I'm biased but really how can they be throwing away the Kara/Lena relationship??? There's so much in there, they like and want and love each other so much, that's not how friends act!!! I'm so fucking annoyed that they're trying to make mon-el happen- it's not gonna happen! I was watching 2x12 (Luthor) and there's a scene of Kara with Lena and next one with monel and she looks so much happier with Lena :(
Kara/Lena is an entirely different relationship compared to Kara/Mon-El. That she looks happier next to Lena in a scene verses one with Mon-El could be entirely based on what that scene is about, not a reflection on how happy Kara is with each of them. I'm no advocate for the Mon-El relationship (Kara can always do better. No matter who they stick her with lol.) But this is a network show, which already features a gay character (a pretty prominent one at that) and a gay relationship. Kara/Lena isn't going to happen, I'm afraid. What a person might see as an opportunity being thrown away, the writers of the show just see at two women being very close friends. Which is also a good thing to see. Enjoy the show for what it is and remember; there's always fanfic. :)

hey! I saw the ask you got about how mac isn't being very "Bad" this season & you were talking about how you didn't really like that, so I'm just curious as to what you're expecting from Mac? For me, the bad things he did were always related to h*mophobia or something, & now that he's out & very okay w being out, I don't really see how else he's supposed to be acting besides the way he has been? Sorry if I sound rude at all, I don't mean to be - I'm just curious about what you're expecting
you don’t sound rude, don’t worry!
it’s not that i necessarily... want to see mac being a bad person? like not in the sense that i enjoy seeing him say or do offensive things. it’s just that, if he’s going to move past that and develop as a character..... i wanna see it. i don’t want them to just erase the negative aspects of his personality as soon as he comes out, because itsbadwriting.gif to have such major character development like that happen without us getting to see ANY of it.
mac’s always had a problem with casual racism, dating back to the very first episode. granted, we saw some of that with this season premiere, but it hasn’t come up since then-- which isn’t the worst thing, since there haven’t been any situations that would call for it and it’s never been the most overwhelming facet of mac’s personality anyway.
he’s also had HUGE issues with misogyny-- i’m pretty sure he’s flat-out said “oh i hate women” with a smile on his face before. we know now that it’s because he was just dealing with his sexuality, but i don’t think he’s gonna spontaneously get over it and realize that just a few weeks after coming out. we’re seeing bits and pieces of it (him asking incredulously that there was a war on women in PTSDee, his comment in proooobably dennis’ double life about how women are all about emotion), but i want to see it more fully explored with him. it would be really cool if he eventually got to a point where he was actually able to articulate that his misogyny came as a result of his sexuality struggle, though i’m not holding my breath for that-- just some subtext or bits of dialogue implying that he’s come to that realization would be great with me.
finally, uh....... the rampant transmisogyny. ALL of the gang is bad about this, but i think it’s safe to say that mac was the worst, considering he accused carmen’s husband of being gay just because carmen is trans. i quite frankly don’t have faith that rcg and the writers would do much better with carmen if they were to bring her back anytime soon, but it would be really nice to see mac give her a frank apology for all of the bullshit he said and did to her. of all the things on this list, i think this is the LEAST likely to happen, but it’s what i’d like to see the most.
so i guess at the end of the day it’s not really that i want mac to keep being Bad. it’s just that, if they really want to make mac a better person, i want to SEE it happen instead of it suddenly happening offscreen.

ahhh i'm so sorry about your medical testing. i'm currently going through several years of tests so i feel for you right now :(
do you want to tell me your favorite things about klaine and brittana? what do you love about both couples? why do you ship them? favorite moments? or just gush about them, whatever you like :)
hope your testing goes well <3
Thank you Evelyn, I’m so sorry that you’re going through something similar and wish you the very best (as always, I’m here for you if you ever wanna vent about it)!!<333
Oh god.. my two favorite canon ships🥰
This is gonna be a jumbled long mess of random thoughts..
Klaine
I remember watching the show live when it first premiered and although I found it interesting, I didn’t fully become invested until they started showing more of Kurt. I felt such a strong connection to him and he’s a character that I see a lot of myself in. It was so hard to watch everything he had to endure (especially during season 2) so when the Klaine storyline started, I was overjoyed because I felt like it was the first time I saw Kurt truly let his guard down around someone else and genuinely look happy. Also knowing how monumental it was for him to meet another openly gay boy, at that one who wasn’t afraid of showing affection. Blaine was someone who right away was drawn to Kurt and wanted to help & support him. I’m a sucker for the friends to lovers trope, so seeing the way that Kurt was into Blaine pretty much from the start but Blaine was just his cute oblivious self..all while becoming best friends (super flirty ones obviously) and then finally having Blaine get hit with the realization of his strong feelings for Kurt & that first kiss🥺👌💕!
I would not even consider myself to be an overly romantic or cheesy person, but god.. so many Klaine scenes just make my heart melt. Obviously there are so many iconic ones like the proposal, the prom, the auditorium scenes etc. But I feel like their smaller/more nuanced moments get to me just as much. I see so many wonderful posts on here that show all these little moments that could easily be missed but I’m so glad that they aren’t. So even when it’s scenes with knowing eye contact/glances or small reassuring touches, I feel like their chemistry still shines through and you can always tell how much they care about each other & truly know one another!
It seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I really enjoy their arc in the later seasons. Don’t get me wrong, I still love them in seasons 2 & 3, but I find their storylines in the later seasons to be way more compelling and entertaining. I find their relationship to overall be a pretty realistic (as much as glee can be!) portrayal of high school sweethearts navigating adulthood. So yes, this leads to some rocky & dramatic moments but it also leads to some fantastic character growth. One of my favorite episodes of the show is 5x14(New New York).. as much as a part of me would have loved to see (& think Klaine & the audience deserved to have) a more fluffy storyline with a shit ton of domestic Klaine (tho we did get a bit of it), I think the direction it went with Kurt feeling a bit smothered/suffocated and Blaine wanting so much togetherness & being his clingy self made a lot of sense and gave us some of the most mature and realistic relationship scenes of the show (with still having many major comedic elements). I feel that way with most of the later season 5 episodes. Even if I didn’t always agree & like how the writers were handling things, I overall really enjoyed seeing Klaine post high school handle the many adult storylines thrown their way.
It just makes me so happy that we got to see these two boys go on this journey from having to face such hardships in their childhoods/teen years to finding each other and growing not only as a couple but individuals to then becoming husbands & dads!!💖
Brittana
Brittana was not only one of first wlw couples I had ever seen but the first that I saw actually have a happy ending and even though I could rant for ages about how bad the writers are (especially when it comes to their female, poc & queer characters), I will forever be grateful for just actually seeing their story end with a wedding & all the fluffiness they gave us in season 6!
Again, since I never really saw any queer women storylines in media before them, seeing Santana & Brittany show affection was huge for me.. like damn getting to see two women in a committed relationship on a popular mainstream show that isn’t just played off as a joke and/or just overly sexualized (I know it started off that way/there still were issues with sexualization - since yes it’s glee.. but it wasn’t just those things which is sadly a big deal). So often, same sex relationships between two women are treated as not being as valid, or as experimentation, and/or like some form of weird fetish for male audiences.
So sadly when I was younger & didn’t have any forms of representation to look to, I didn’t even really know women could be gay (well okay yes, I knew there were gay women but more so I didn’t really know what that meant/could look like). Brittana ended up giving teenage me a form of representation and gave me one of those “aha moments” and an example of what a relationship between two women could be.
“Songbird” is my number 1 glee performance.. it made me bawl my eyes out the first time I saw it and it continues to make me feel so emotional every time I listen to it or watch the scene. The song itself is of course beautiful but I think the acting is what truly takes it over the edge. The same goes for any of their other emotionally charged performances like “Landslide” and “Mine”.
I relate so much to Santana, since I too had a very hard time coming to terms with being gay and went through similar phases of acceptance with first admitting it to myself, to then actually dating women privately, to then being at a place to be comfortable publicly. So I loved seeing Santana’s arc with these milestones and how in season 2 she didn’t even want to come to terms with being gay & god forbid admit she had feelings for Brittany to then take us all the way to season 6 she is getting down on one knee to propose to Brittany (the love of her life) in front of an audience!!
I know Brittany is a very controversial character (I understand why and agree with many of the reasons I see for people disliking her) but I do appreciate her in regards to her relationship with Santana. I loved that Brittany was always comfortable with her sexuality (though again the writers suck with never letting her actually really talk about it...). I also feel like season 6 Brittany was what I wished she was like during the other seasons (I felt like there was more of a balance between her being more fleshed out while still maintaining a comedic aspect). One of my personal highlights of the entire show is the season 6 storyline with Brittany & Santana’s abuela.. felt like it really showed how much she cared for Santana while also being protective and not taking that woman’s bullshit..I love her rant so so so much!!
I really hate that nothing canon was given concerning what happened in their lives after the wedding (obviously they were shown in the final performance during the time jump). But I would have loved to know what their lives were like 5 years in the future. I guess the upside is that I can make their future be whatever I want, which I personally adore the idea of them being in New York & close with my other favs.. but Brittany having a big enough following to have some major cash so the girls can travel as they please, maybe even live abroad for awhile until coming back to the states and settling down more permanently.🥰
