You know I wouldn't mind the Satine/Obi-Wan pairing having no background if they actually showed lingering romantic interest to each other in the present, or even showed small gestures that implied they were in love. I can't think of any examples now but there's been plenty of shows that have done that and pulled it off decently. Instead ObiSatine comes across as a highschool couple reuniting as adults after having realised how ridiculously they behaved as teenagers, thinking they were each others true luuuuv and that they were totally going to skip out on dream colleges so they could be together. Idk man, the way they act makes me think even they thought their love was pretty shallow and forced when they were younger.
I fully agree! There's no tension or cartoon "chemistry" to make me feel compelled by their relationship. And you do get the sense that Satine is not exactly someone Obi-Wan thinks about every day. In fact, (in Queen's Peril anyways) she seems to be one of those topics that Qui-Gon brings up when he (affectionately??) wants to make Obi-Wan feel embarrassed about his past mistakes. The fact that Qui-Gon's teasing works (that Obi-Wan feels admonished and embarrassed by it at the age of 25 instead of getting wistful and longing) indicates to me that he doesn't spend much time feeling as though he should have left for her. In Brotherhood and in Kenobi, too, she's a subject Obi-Wan brings up in his mind to dwell on (almost like someone with OCD) in a very deliberate way; it's not a passion that's simmering under his surface constantly ready to burst out, which is what you would expect to see from a more typical version of the "it didn't work out when we were young but I still think about you every day" AKA Jane Austen's Persuasion story. Maybe they will publish an Obitine Persuasion adaptation next to convince us all lol. It couldn't be worse than the 2022 Persuasion film...

defo created rules regardin mi for the house to follow to stop the rude talkin.. her tone always softens a bit when she talks abt mi otherwise !! vry common for the twins to use mi as a scapegoat becuz she gets considerably more lax when am mentioned ૮꒰ྀི∩´ ᵕ `∩꒱ྀིა she avoids a lot of their eye contact too ! i get them out of a loooooot of troubles !!
thinkies she wld always tell da kids that i wont play wiv them or help them study if they don’ behave while am gone… verrrrry rood !! i will help them regardless, she’s just usin mi as a threat :c
whereas diluc is similar becuz he gets supaaaa soft too !! kaeya keeps tellin mi how easy it is to get his way wiv diluc n’ all he needs to do is bring mi up !! his eyes always soften n’ u see how his cheeks heat up becuz he gets all shy wiv mi as a conversation (///▽///) he likes to boast mi piano skills when am not there becuz i can’t argue wiv him !!
