pairing: morgan’s little sister who’s in nursing school x spencer reid

summary: in which derek morgan’s little sister takes care of her secret boyfriend, spencer reid, after he gets a little hurt on a case. season one masterlist; premise

word count: 1582

warnings: extreme amounts of fluff, light cursing, mentions of bruises, blood, slight pain.

You’re waiting on the couch of you and your boyfriend’s apartment when you hear a jingle from outside the door. The jingle of a set of keys you deduce as the doorknob twists and finally opens, revealing your boyfriend, Spencer Reid.

At first, his gaze finds you on the couch and a smile appears on his tired face, but then his gaze lowers to find your coffee table covered in gauze, pil bottles, alcohol wipes, band-aids, and other medical supplies.

“Oh,” He says, his key still lodged in the door keyhole.

You chuckle and echo his words, “Oh?” You meet him halfway and carefully take his go-bag and satchel bag from him, then bringing up your hands to examine his face.

Aside from the eyebags and the fatigued look, he had a split and slightly bloody lip and a few developing small bruises on his cheeks.

As you silently examined his wounds, he kept his eyes on your figure, “Who told you?” He asked quietly, there was no reason to speak louder when you were less than a foot away.

You took his hands, deposited the bags on the floor for now, and led him over to the couch where you pushed his body down to sit on the couch and you grabbed a few supplies from the coffee table.

Starting with the antiseptic and a cotton ball, you dabbed at his split lip carefully, noting when he winced at the sting, “Derek called and said you and Hotch were in a hostage situation with the unsub. Said that you were beaten up a little bit.”

“What did he really say?” Spencer asked.

You sighed and reached for a butterfly strip bandage, “That ‘pretty boy should be lucky nothing should scar’.” You relented while doing a gruff impression of your older brother.

“You really shouldn’t let my brother get to you, Spence.” You say while carefully placing the strip across his now cleaned up lip. Your boyfriend’s expressions said it all. Derek loved teasing him and you know it more than often annoyed your boyfriend.

“Why shouldn’t I?” Spencer responds, “He’s the older brother of the girl I’ve been secretly dating for a year and three months and twelve days.”

You glance at his watch to check the time, “Almost thirteen days.”

“Now your shirt, mister.” You command, starting to unbutton his plaid checkered shirt.

Spencer pouted a bit and you found yourself almost buckling under his gaze, “No kiss? I’ve been gone for days.”

You laugh at his pout and instead kiss his cheek, but you can tell he’s still dissatisfied, “You have a split lip and I haven’t washed my face yet. The last thing you need is my brother and your team finding out about us from an infection caused by a kiss.”

“Now, your shirt,” You reiterate, “You really should have gotten your ribs wrapped and taken something for the bruising.” You say.

He sighs and grumbles while helping you with the buttons of his shirt, then carefully taking it off and laying it over the back of the couch. Even though you had seen him without his shirt before, the act of you seeing him shirtless never failed to put a rosyness to his face.

“How’d you know?” He said while you grabbed a few more things from the coffee table. Namely, a roll of wrap and a pill bottle.

“Derek said you got shit beaten out of you by Hotch in order to fool the unsub.” You inform while dumping out two pills from the bottle, handing them to Spencer with a glass of water. “Here, paracetamol for the bruising.”

He takes it without a word of displeasure.

“Derek was exaggerating.” Spencer responds, “Hotch had to kick me a few times, but it wasn’t anything I hadn’t already felt before.” He trails off.

Eight months into dating Spencer had opened up about his school life as a 12-year-old genius and the brutality and bullying that he experienced from being so much younger and so much smarter than anyone else. It still made you mad every time he brought it up, his childhood ruined just because teenagers couldn’t empathize.

“Do you think he knows we’re dating?” Spencer asks, changing the subject slightly.

You shake your head as you carefully and loosely wrap the cloth around his middle section, making sure to not get it too tight.

“I don’t think so, but he is getting concerned why I won’t let him come visit my apartment.” You reply.

Spencer chuckles and then winces pretty heavily as the pain blooms in his ribs, “You mean the apartment that your lease ran out from three months ago?” He jokingly asks.

You ponder for a moment before responding, “Maybe we should finally tell him?” You question.

“Oh, no,” Spencer says as you finish wrapping his ribs. He gets up from the couch and grabs his shirt, loosely putting it back on. “No, no, no, no, no. That is a very bad idea.”

“But why?” You ask him as he walks around the room, pacing almost.

You were really young when your father died and since then, Derek has been the closest thing to a father figure in your life. It always felt bad lying to him, now especially, since you lived in D.C. attending nursing school and the distance wasn’t too great.

“Derek will kill me.” Spencer says, shaking his head at the mere notion of telling your brother, “He will literally grab his gun and shoot me in the head and we both know he has way better aim than me.”

“We’ll have to tell him eventually.” You try to reason.

Then he turns to you, full body facing you and you know that whatever he was about to say was from the non-logical part of his brain, one not often used.

“Or,” He says before pausing and holding up his hand, “We could just not.”

You laugh out loud and ignore the concept while gathering the used and unused medical supplies in your hands, going to return them in their rightful places.

As you turn your back to your boyfriend, you can still feel his presence, even more so when you feel two arms come touch your shoulders and slowly find their way down to your waist, wrapping you up in them.

“Where did you get all this anyway?” Spencer tries to change the subject while pressing a kiss on your temple.

You swat him away and step out of his embrace after placing the pill bottles back on the cupboard shelf, “Don’t change the subject, Spence.”

You craned your head and looked at him, pouting again because of the lost contact. You sigh and stop what you’re doing and then go back to return his embrace. Your head doesn’t quite reach his chin, but he still rests his head on yours comfortably.

“But,” You say, “If you must know I took them from a workshop today after Derek called me.”

Spencer’s laugh reverberates through his torso and you can feel it with your head, “You stole these supplies for me?” He asked.

“I did not steal them!” You defended yourself, “The bandages and tape were left over from a workshop I helped demonstrate today. I wasn’t paid to do the demonstration and I asked the administrator and they said I could keep these.”

He chuckled again and you sank your head against his chest, loving the ability to feel and hear his chest rise and fall with each breath he took. You were extra careful putting pressure around his abdomen, not wanting to press on any bruising he suffered.

You both sat there, in silence, just enjoying each other’s company and touch and embrace. With you in nursing school and Spencer working for the BAU, you both suffered long hours with little time that overlapped in both of your schedules. Moments like the ones you cherished in now were few and far between and quickly learned to be some of the best ways you can spend quality time together.

Spencer sighed and wiggled in your embrace, “I guess we should tell Morgan.” He grumbled.

You let out a joyful small squeal and carefully tightened your arms around your boyfriend’s middle, “Yay!”

You step out of the embrace you both shared in and reached for your phone, lying on a side end table next to the couch.

“I’ll call Derek and see if he can meet us at that one really nice Italian restaurant down at Adams Morgan this weekend and we can tell him we’re dating.” You explain. “Well, if there isn’t a case you need to go on, that is.” You add on.

As you’re looking down at your phone, you see a large hand in your peripheral vision come out and snatch your phone from you.

“Spence!” You whine as he looks at you with an equally playful and amused expression on his face.

“It’s almost 2 a.m.” He says, “Just call him in the morning.” He reasons.

“Ugh.” You respond, although you know he’s right. You resign in your mission and instead approach your boyfriend, giving him a kiss on each cheek.

“Now,” You start to say, “Let me go wash my face and then I can finally kiss you.”

You both gaze at each other with large smiles on your faces, together just relishing in the sweet moments as boyfriend and girlfriend. With a mention of a kiss, Spencer visibly perks up and reluctantly lets go of your hands.

“I’ll be waiting.”

a/n: this is so fluffy! i love it so much and i love the relationship and the derek morgan little sister aspect! fun fact: l.d.s.k. is one of my all time favorite episodes, yet i write just alluding to it.

there will for sure be a part 2 showcasing the dinner so also look forward to that. this isn’t a super long one shot, but i think it gets the job done nicely and i’m really happy with it.

also, i am currently sick and haven't had the energy to write so this is why this one shot (ldsk) is coming out before broken mirror because i haven't finished it yet. anyway, enjoy!

hey do you have an au for Jamie meeting a Jamie who didn’t go into football? ;-)

I’ll be real I read this and typed. A whole list of Jamie AU’s. Then I reread your ask and realized you specified where they meet canon jamie. Whoops.

So in most of those AUs the issue is not that Jamie isn’t playing football, it’s more that he IS playing but a change has occurred.

I’ve got s1 Jamie meets girl!Jamie. At first everyone assumes that he’s gonna be an asshole about girls playing football. They are then annoyed and a little insulted when instead he meets her and is like ‘thank FUCK finally someone who can play good.’ The two of them trauma bond and turn into a little annoying world of ‘we shall play 1-on-1 together, fuck everyone else’ (cue lots of ‘oh god there’s two of them’). Meanwhile Ted is noticing how the two of them together seem….happy? And like, they certainly can pass to each other, so Ted starts scheming on how he can leverage that to them passing to everyone. But when that doesn’t work, a version of the the ‘practice’ scene from 1x06 happens and whichever one of them is there as a witness loses their shit at Ted for it. Cue drama

I’ve got s3 Jamie meets s1 post-fire Jamie and goes ‘ooooooh, I did not realize how transparent my issues were. Oh no. Oh no, I gotta do something to help.’ This is mainly Jamie trying to give love to his former self, who is furiously jealous of everything his future self has and doesnt believe him at all when jamie tries to explain ‘no no, this can be you!’ Cue angst.

And then I’ve got a ‘Where is Jamie?’ AU that is more about the cascade of butterfly effects that he’s had on the team. Basically the two Richmonds meet, and Other Richmond is…well, for starters they got relegated in season 1 and never got promoted again. They came so very close though. There’s no Total Football, there was never even a Zava. Nate, having not been bullied as much, never went full dark side and left for West Ham (as a result though he has a LOT of unresolved anger stored up at Ted).

But the biggest domino that never fell was Keeley, who never dated Jamie, and therefore never met Rebecca OR Roy. As a result it took Rebecca a lot longer to soften to…everything. Without Keeley to force her hand over the paparazzi photo, she didn’t confess that she’d been trying to sabotage Richmond until well into season two. She’s made progress, but her and Ted are far more tentative with each other, and because of how long it took the blow up was much bigger. Roy is on assistant coach, but his retirement was more of a whimper than a bang. He’s hanging onto his job like a life raft and he is severely depressed. Keeley is still floating around, doing modeling. She has tried to work her way into a few PR companies but hasn’t had much luck, so she’s currently working on her degree. Her life isn’t much worse, but it’s not great.

So canon!Richmond looks at all of this and goes ‘okay. So where the fuck is jamie?’

Meanwhile Jamie is trying to not hear ‘we only want you for your football’ but it’s really really hard given the circumstances.

They do eventually find that universe’s jamie living as a bartender in Manchester. Life has not been kind but he’s made the best of it. That said he takes one look at this Jamie, who is softer and lighter and happier than he’s ever been and who actually plays football, and thinks his old mates from the academy are playing a cruel prank on him— the fact that they somehow got Roy Kent in on it is an extra kick while he’s down.

Ironically he has been making a killing placing bets against Richmond (and other teams, but he doesn’t tell them that) because he’s taken all his passion for football and turned it into dissecting how awful other teams play, which actually makes for really good coaching strategy advice. You see where this is going.

keana lyn and rohan campbell as callie shaw and frank hardy (1x06), the best dressed kids in town.

i love callie and frank's outfits so, so much in this scene !! as soon as we see them, their clothes tell us everything we need to know about them in this moment.

both frank and callie are clearly wearing their "best clothes" for the entrance exam. they're dressed smartly, but their clothes are obviously cheaper and a little out-dated compared with what the other candidates are wearing.

callie's wearing a dagger collar blouse with a corduroy vest, both of which were more popular in the 70s than in the 80s. it feels like these are pieces that callie has had for a few years but because they're her "sunday best" she keeps them in very good condition and hasn't replaced them. her shoes, white boots with a short stiletto heel, feel a little out of place with her outfit but are clearly newer, like they're her current best shoes. i honestly love this look, i think the patterns and the silhouette are so beautiful, but there's a very clear contrast between callie's smart but dated clothes and the other candidates who are also dressed smartly but in more timeless, subdued and "expensive" looking outfits.

frank is in a similar position, he's dressed smartly, but it leans much more towards a working man's idea of formal -- a neutral plaid pattern shirt and jeans -- than the other candidates, who have the classic "preppy" look going on. frank is dressed for function ("smart") over fashion; the jeans are made to be long lasting, and the shirt is versatile so can be worn at multiple events. i love frank's outfit too, it's within his colour scheme and i think it reflects his tendency to be very grounded.

the distinction between the candidates who have been born into this elite world and callie and frank who have working class backgrounds is so important for highlighting the way they are both trying to take control of their own futures. if frank chose it, he'd have a free-ride to rosegrave and to a lot of opportunities, but he's been raised away from that sort of environment. on multiple occasions we see he can't take the pomp and pageantry of rosegrave seriously, and his clothes reflect that -- he's a legacy student who is actively turning his back on that legacy.

however, callie is striving for everything frank is turning down. her intelligence alone should be enough to thrive at rosegrave, but her socio-economic situation (reflected through her outfit and how she presents herself) is "holding her back". in another episode, she confirms that she has faith in her intelligence but not in her appearance. she clearly tries harder than frank to "look the part" and still falls short.

both callie and frank has a distinct disdain for the rich kids they're competing against, but callie is more willing to try and blend in because she feels she needs the opportunity in order to make the most of her potential.

i love this question their comedy is so underrated. i think i have to say the scene in the beginning of helpless where she's telling him about going out with her dad, and you can just see the absolute panic in his eyes. plus the way he's trying to casually ask her out on a date is so precious as well. it's so good.

What Buffyverse opinion would have you chased through the village with pitchforks?

honestly i feel like existing as a huge angel stan in the fandom some days is enough to get chased…don't know how unpopular this is, but i kinda like connor. mostly as a baby, but i do feel really awful for him and i understand why he acts the way he does sometimes. at the end of the day he's a teenage boy who has literally been to hell and back and i have to sympathise with him for that. i also just love the angel dad arc in s3 it's one of my favourites.

Share a headcanon you have about Bangel or the Buffyverse?

i have too many!! mostly about angel (i think about him too much). a kinda silly inconsequential one is that he loves plants. he gets given that plant by a client in 1x04 and then in 1x06 he gives cordy a cactus and the apartment/office is covered in plants. and the same happens to the hyperion. even the garden in the mansion in s3 of buffy is just beautiful, he must have been putting in the effort.

How would you have given Buffy and Angel their Happily Ever After?

the shanshu happens, they get together and spend some time navigating and working out their new life together. soon after she proposes to him, they get married and in my head i always see them having a little girl. buffy continues to be a slayer, but mostly through helping with and training all the new slayers in some sort of slayer school-esque thing, and angel is a stay at home dad <3

#i wish the show would have given us a little more tarlos between 1x03 and 1x10#there's practically NOTHING

That's what is so annoying about it. Like we know they interacted and had a successful dinner this time in episode 5, and even had physical contact going by the overly used promo picture, but it was deleted. It would've at least bridged a small gap. And then, Carlos wasn't in 1x06, BUT he was in 1x07, they could have had them interact in some small way, but they kept them in separate storylines. And so the next time we see anything, it's Carlos by TKs bedside. *sigh* So as much as I really love that era, I wish we could've seen alot more.

I really, really wish we could have gotten at least one more interaction before TK got shot! That's why it's so extra annoying that the tamale date scene got deleted. It would have given us a much better view of what was going on in their relationship at that time. Even though we get them standing unnecessarily close to each other while waiting for Paul and TK putting his arm around Carlos as they enter the club in 1x05, they don't actually speak to each other on screen in that episode. It's clear from their physicality in 1x05 (and also from Carlos's reaction to TK getting shot) that they're getting closer during that time, but I wish we got to see more of it. I know it was only a 10 episode season and they had so many characters to introduce and things to set up but come on! If we couldn't have the tamale date, they could have at least given us a little interaction in 1x07! Even just a small exchange between them while on a call or something, showing how their relationship is progressing. Oh well. I guess that's what fanfiction and my own imagination is for.

As I was recently rewatching season 1, I was particularly struck by how little on-screen Tarlos we actually get. I think it's a testament to how good Ronen and Rafa are that they made us fall in love with Tarlos with so little screen time to work with.

One thing about me is I will find a brotherly relationship in any given fandom and I will gnaw on it like a dog with a bone

A much needed (for me) scene after that little spat in the bar during 1x06 (featuring a cameo from ellie)

“D’you think it’s sturdy enough?” Joel watches his brother shake the crib for the tenth time now.

“Won’t be if you keep doing that.”

Tommy gives him a look, before standing back next to Joel where he leans against the worktable. “It looks good. We didn’t do half bad, huh? Do you think Maria will like it?”

Joel thinks she better, for all the fretting Tommy has done over the damn thing. He must have used a whole bottle of varnish on it. He shrugs. “The baby’ll sleep in your bedroom for the first six months anyways.” He smirks at Tommy. “When they do sleep, I mean.”

Tommy gives a nervous chuckle, the kind Joel remembers very well from the last couple months before Sarah’s due date. “One more month of sleep, I guess,” Tommy says. “Damn, kinda can’t believe it’s almost time. Feels like we’ve been waitin’ forever, but… still scares the shit out of me, just thinkin’ about it.”

“You’ll be alright.” It sounds weak, not at all what Joel’s been meaning to say these last few weeks, what’s been weighing in the back of his head ever since he showed his ass in that bar months ago, a wreck of a man barging in on the peace his little brother had made for himself. He tries again. “You’re gonna be a good daddy, you know. You were always good with Sarah." He clears his throat. "And I mean, half of being a parent's just worryin’ yourself to death, and you’ve got that part down pat.”

As long as you love them, you’ll do just fine. That’s what he would’ve said, twenty years ago. And it would’ve felt true, and not like utter bullshit. He’d loved his kid so damn much, it had felt like an invisible shield, like an unbreakable law of the universe wrapped around her. He can't lie to his brother, not about this, but he doesn’t want him to know the truth of it, either. Though he supposes Tommy already knows.

The nervous but obviously pleased smile now lighting up Tommy's face pulls Joel out of maudlin thoughts, and also makes him feel even more like an asshole for not fixing this months ago. But there’s understanding and forgiveness in that smile, too. Tommy squeezes Joel's shoulder. “Well, I guess I’ve had plenty of practice with kids, from wrangling both of your hellions.”

“Hellions?” Joel scoffed. “I’ll allow that, for Ellie. But you and I both know that you were the problem child, back in the day. And when you’re competing with a two-year-old, that’s saying something.”

“Sorry, was I the one who used the dog’s tail as a paintbrush?”

“She never would have done that unless someone gave her the idea.”

Tommy’s rebuttal is interrupted by Joel’s youngest hellion slamming open the door unceremoniously.

“What are you doing in here, besides being old and boring?” Ellie stops at the sight of the crib. “Oooooh, nice. So I guess this is what you’ve been doing instead of building me bookshelves?” She’s got a leg over the side of the crib before Joel can even stop her, about to climb in.

Tommy picks her up under her armpits and deposits her next to Joel. “Noooo ma’am.”

“But we need to test it!”

“It’s been tested enough,” say Joel. Tommy just rolls his eyes at him as he gets into a defensive stance in front of the crib, blocking any subsequent attempts by certain fourteen-year-olds to break his precious creation.

Joel leaves them to it. He’s got bookshelves to build.

as i promised, i'm in your inbox asking about your easter eggs/inside jokes/references from your writing that you want to share! i love to share my own, and love to hear about other writers'.

and, in somewhat the same vein, what are some things you've included in your writing that are a private joke to yourself?

What is it with people turning my asks back on me lately 😉J/K I love it! I slip so many little bits like that in that I lose track myself, but here are some highlights:

For inside jokes, In “Charming” James sings Puff the Magic Dragon to get Anna back to sleep; this is the same song that I would sing to my kids when they were wee to do the same - and is the only song I can sing and not sound like a strangled cat. Also, in “She”, aside from the author insert with the British soldier (Gerry’s right that people from Pompey get a wee bit insulted if people think we come from ScumSouthampton), Mary and Gerry also share the same anniversary date as my wife and I (give or take 29 years).

From a wider perspective, “She” actually has a lot of little bits it - Inspector O'Hare mentioned in the news report is named after the inspector from Hope Street, a Northern Irish police procedural drama; Angela Rippon was one of the original presenters of Top Gear, which actually did air on the date the fic is set - and conveniently allowed me to do the Rippon/Ripping joke; Erin, ever the romantic but always unlucky, has her birthday the day before Valentine's day - missed it by this much… etc.

My favourite two jokes are when Shea and Sarah leave the pub to the strains of Anita Ward’s latest single, what was “Ring My Bell” - which is just what they were off to do, if you know what I mean… (*waggles eyebrows*) Also, there’s a Doctor Who reference when Orla tastes the blood - “Blood. Human blood. A positive… with just a dash of iron.”

I also quite like referencing the wider canon too - In “To Travel” James has a wee garden, as it's established in Erin's Diary that he's a talented gardener, and I thought he'd probably like to have a proper go at one when he had his own house. James saying “Right, OK, etc” when having a cack attack is a reference to him trying to use the computer in episode 1x06.

Oh, and referring to Erin’s “swishy” skirt in various places (especially "A Confederacy of Fathers). I snuck that in to tip the hat to another fanfic author, but I can’t for the life of me think who…

For what it's worth, given that we're talking about September 2023 - I'll gladly join you in a stacked rewatch for The 100. I've tried to rewatch in order and it's just impossible for me now, but I think the air date method is a really novel way to mix it up. Count me in! (In ten months, lol.)

I often find myself missing the ~energy of this fandom (read: exclusively that of my mutuals in my little dash <3), so if any of you joined me I'd love it! I do want to rewatch the show eventually, but like you, thinking of a regular rewatch... eh. But this way is a lot of fun and can lead to really interesting findings IMO.

(in particular, I think a rewatch of this show, knowing all I know in hindsight, it's going to make Clarke a more enjoyable protagonist for me LMAO)

joey and anderson at the beach in 1x03 (the scene was really cute)

also the scene in the restaurant in that episode where jen and bodie covered for joey

i love all of jacey's interactions (their 1x06 conversation, the double date episode)

i loved the episode the scare so much, it was definitely my favorite so far, so every scene from that episode makes it on the list

in 1x13, i loved when pacey drove joey to the prison and paid the guard

i also loved the scene in the church with jen and grams, and just in general, i loved their storyline <3

and in the s3 episodes i saw, i loved 3x20, the concept was so creative

i loved the jacey first kiss scene

in 3x18, i liked when andie, jen and joey had a girls' night

and in 3x21 i liked when henry surprised jen on the roof

and when grams found out that jen and him hadn't slept together, the scene was really cute

One very specific inconsistency that I hate about Gossip Girl is how in s1 Dan was the one who told Vanessa about his feelings before she moved away but in s3 V’s mom tells Dan that he broke V’s heart when she told him about her feelings all those years ago. Which is it?! Which do you think it is? I’d probably say Dan just bc he’s the one who always says it first in the series that we see and always seems to be the one that falls first. idk. What’s your take?

whooops this has been languishing for a while and I just remembered it because I watched the gg thanksgiving triptych while I was cooking for tomorrow apologies.

My take is: both are true! preseries, Dan does profess his love to Vanessa before she moves away, my favorite version of the telling (other than my little women au, to toot my horn, beep beep) is in this fic by S.

AND

remember when Vanessa comes back to NYC in 1x06? It's been a while since I've watched that particular episode, so I don't know the exact wording, but she makes it clear that one of the reasons she reached out to Dan after moving back is that she wants to be with him. The thing is, she waited too long, and he moved on and is now dating someone else: Serena.

So, you are right that in the case of danessa, Dan Fell First, and Vanessa broke his heart first, but that doesn't mean he didn't hurt her when - in her point of view - she came back for him only to find him with someone else. GG is rife with inconsistencies in the timeline, don't get me wrong, but this is one where you can find a canonical basis for both statements.

• I love how there’s a backstory of Stella and how she at least tried to connect with Octavia and somewhat was more amicable with Stolas as an acting co-parent even though they don’t really love each other; but would do anything for their daughter

* But in my opinion, even though this was really about Octavia and Stella, it would’ve been nicer to have that moment with Stolas as well rather just making a small cameo here and there (I mean canonically he did majority of Octavia’s upbringing — hence why she’s her “daddy’s daughter” — up since Stella had no desire in comforting her at such a young age after having a nightmare as all kids want the comfort of their parents)

• I do feel like Stolas is as “ditzy” or “oblivious” as he had been portrayed as in this fanfic, then again this could either be take from Stella’s perspective and my biased opinion for the latter

I think, if it came to Octavia, he would’ve just as sceptical of his daughter and her double life, because let’s not forget he is a bookworm which means he would have a lot of intellect (okay, yes, he’s not as guarded as let’s say Blitz would be) but I would say their on the same page.

However, I will acknowledge that, in my opinion, that Stolas had SOME obliviousness about the belief that Blitz loves him too in episodes 1x1 - 1x06 (til the end of “Ozzie’s”)

But again he had come to the conclusion that this wasn’t the case after his failed “date” with Blitz after they were both humiliated by As(s)modeus and Fizzarolli (mainly)

• In my opinion, I felt surprised to read that Stolas got angry with Octavia for having a “normal life” and was being a little classist in the making when saying that she “couldn’t” be with someone who was lower of their “class” considering that’s actually what he had wanted for her canonically when he and Stella were arguing (in 2x01 “The Circus”)

* However I will acknowledge that this little detail had been covered when Octavia told her father that he was a hypocrite for doing the same thing with Blitz

Then again, in my opinion, I felt it was weird for me in my heart because I know Stolas would never pull a “Stella 2.0” he just not an elitist that way. he’s too compassionate to do that.

But other than that, with all my mixed emotions all over the place (in a good way), I can safely say, without shame, that this was the BEST fanfiction I’ve ever read. It was almost like something out of a movie I would’ve watched

I honestly don’t think there will be anything better in comparison to this. I may be a bit biased here but I’d say that this and “Turf Wars” (one of my own with help of a role playing partner) would be my all time favourites for sure!

Now for some positives:
