Memento Moria

Kiiiii-shi-shi-shi! Happy Halloween! Last time we took the whole month for Victoria Cindry with our #Spooky Sidestory. That was fun, if you don't know Cindry always borrowed from a famous ghost story about a spirit named Okiku. Which means you maybe need to think a little more in hindsight about her being an actress whose story relies on a theme of toxic obligation. We touched on Moria a bit, how he serves as a warning to what lies ahead. But I always wanted to give him his due. He's such a good seed for the yonko; baiting the idea of separating the crew, the zombies as an analogue for infighting, his shadow keeping you from even touching him. How many people did he beat without lifting a finger? This becomes a huge motif by Totland & Wano.
Moria is a great villain, though I'll never fault a younger fan for not quite getting it yet. Other characters share this idea of their dreams dashed by the buzzsaw of the New World, but Moria is the one who really embodies it. He's not just someone who experienced loss, he's defined by it. I mean this in the nicest way possible, you won't truly relate to Moria unless you've had some kind of tangible past success. Laurels to rest on long enough you know how dangerous that can be. I love this "whiteout" panel, how his face looks so bat-like. If you need a refresher on why this pertains to Kiku:

Kiku's introduction already leans on drawing from One Piece's history, subtly baiting key associations. Bat-Man being one of the first Gifters is certainly a choice, and his extremely shallotesque shape reinforces the reference. For those who don't know, Moria's animal motif isn't a gecko. It's a bat, Gecko Moria. Komori=bat. That in Kiku's intro is worth pointing out alone, much moreso when we get an update on Moria paired with a reflection (Catarina) of what we just highlighted out of the star of the first act. Those two are solid thematically, now add the Ringo ripple.
Does it have to mean anything? No, but theoretically if we wanted to have one of the Akazaya involved somehow there's a certain logic to Kiku the Ringo native being the intuitive choice. It's just like the Shanks/Buggy angle. We have someone so oddly worldly in Wano and yet again a known thread is set up it can easily run through her. I might actually want to see a flashback of Kiku & Moria having a chance encounter over Shanks. If only because I can guess how Shanks would go. You think Moria might make a play at recruiting the demonic prodigy of the Akazaya? Say what you will about his necromancy, which I'd imagine Kiku would abhor, I don't see Moria being the type to care about the trans aspect. Being earnestly good about it like Luffy seems reasonable.

Moria though, just as a villain he's grown on me. Or really I've grown, lost groups of people I once felt brought out the best in me. Lazily replaced them with shadows, spun my wheels in a position that sounded like a good enough spot to be in. I get Moria, he's kinda over it but hasn't fully given up. Just taking a lazier, safer approach because he's scared of what lies ahead. Shadows Asgard and taking in 1000 shadows is a big example of growing on me. Makes so much more sense when you see how Kaido/Wano builds off of the concept. Moria has the power to be a top contender, he doesn't have the will to control it. Shadow Asgard, false divinity.
Back then, even the Straw Hats see it right away. Luffy turns to the crew and tells them to take care of the rest cause he's gonna get reckless. I love the parallel of Luffy having to take on a taste of Moria's true power and Zoro well, that time when nothing happened. Kuma's getting plenty of focus now but we'll wait until the flashback ends to do him proper. Keeping that strong and famous crew he could count on over more zombie mooks won the day. That under the threat of daybreak is good shit.

Okay I mean the lyrics are very very sad and I can kinda relate but that´s all I like about this song. I don´t know how to describe it but it´s really slow and long and the MV is really something else. It all feels very Indie or Alternative I have no clue what´s really going on.
"true colors" is also a slow song but I liked it a little bit more. "empty" feels kinda like a lullaby and overall the whole single could be an OST to a sad short indie movie.

This Song is kinda a vibe. The MV is very sunny and makes a good mood. I´m not hundred percent sure if this could make it into my playlist because I got greedy after these 6 months because the playlist gets way too long.
"Rainy Season" is very vibey and I think it would be perfect for reading or something like that while "Letter" feels kinda sad and nostalgic. "Moderato" is my favorite on this EP with its vocals and its bright vibe. Lastly "Happy Birthday to Me" is a solid song with nostalgic vibes as well.

Mhhhm I know I said I have to keep an eye on them back in January and I still think that but they kinda lost me over time and I got lowkey annoyed by their songs because I listened to them way too much and I´m not sure this song can deal with that as well. It´s very 4th gen like and the song is a little bit too overload for me. Like it´s like they switching between 2-3 songs and mixing them into one. Maybe it will grow on me like "O.O" by NMIXX did over time or maybe I will hate it even more, we will see. Anyways the song is very powerful and noisy. The MV is also way better than the first one.
"AWAKE" is a nice intro I really like while "CLIQUE" also follows the title track but just not that extreme and I liked the rap very much. "re : daybreak" is really nice because it´s a little bit more chill and surprisingly I enjoyed that a lot. Lastly "FOREVER MORE" is a pretty solid song I also liked a lot.

This song is pretty solid and has a very beautiful message and everything but it´s not very special if you know what I mean and since I´m personally not attached to them I can´t find myself hype myself up for it either but may it will grow on me soon. And am I the only one who got a little bit of farewell vibes?
Okay first of all as not an army 35 album compilation it´s hard to find out what´s new since I only know 15 songs. Overall I see a good choice of songs I actually like but as always I only rate songs released this year. So “Run BTS” is actually fun and it´s the kind of song I like from BTS so if this would have been the title they would have been raked very high. “For Youth” feels very nostalgic and comforting at the same time.

Yeah... I want to say I like this so badly because I normally love this rocking sound but I´m very afraid that this will become a downer like "Eye On You" was for me. And to be honest this gets boring over time I don´t know like it´s missing something. But I still love him and it breaks my heart to rate him this low but yeah can´t do much about it.
"INTRO: 9AM" and "OUTRO: 9PM" are just instrumental intro/outros so not much to say about these. "Close" is full in english and I really appreciate it because it´s very beautiful. "White Miracle (Korean Ver.) is nice to have but nothing I really needed.

"GAME" is a very nice song I kinda like and "Trick and Treat" is a typical hype song and I also like this one very much.

I love this. It´s such a nice summer track I´m really in love with it. The MV makes also very much fun to watch and I fall in love with them with every comeback a little bit more.
"VENUS" reminds me of something that could be a weird Monsta X and NCT crossover. "BINARY STAR" is a pretty solid song and "ALL ABOUT U" is as well. I really like "DON´T" which is surprisingly a slower song but I could vibe with it very well. "TAKE´EM ALL" is a hype EDM song I also enjoyed. "BOUNCE WITH ME" is also very powerful and I like it a lot while "DANCE WITH U" is slower again and I kinda vibe with it. "AIRPLANE" is a solid song I don´t really mind and "DRY FLOWER" is also kinda nice to listen to while "CONTROL" is again a solid song I don´t really mind. Lastly "LOVE" is a very nice love song I like a lot.

34. What was the last thing they thought about stealing?
Wendy McCoy (Daybreakers) -> The portable radio she carries around with her on her motorcycle. She was successful in stealing it from a truck early in her scouting days and uses it to broadcast her message to other human survivors. She may also frequently think about stealing from supply warehouses if her colony is low on certain things like medicines as well.
Rose Gonzales (Streets of Fire) -> What hasn't she thought of stealing? Rose literally lives off the items she steals and is able to sell to the highest bidder so almost anything and everything has potential to her. The most significant thing she'll remember stealing is Raven Shaddock's bike as it's what led to them meeting in the first place and changed her life.
August and Augustine Ripley (Hellboy) -> Most likely something from a gas station like a candy in their childhood. Neither August nor Augustine thinks about stealing anything unless some serious shit were going down and they needed something only the B.P.R.D. could provide but wouldn't give. August would hesitate about it though, Augustine wouldn't so much as care and would not hesitate at all.
82. Do they have a harder time going to sleep at night or getting out of bed in the morning?
Wendy McCoy -> Depends on the situation. If she's out scouting long distances overnight, she'll have a harder time falling asleep because she's more alert to being captured or killed. If she's having trouble getting up in the morning it's most likely just because she has Elvis with her and wants more time together with him, which he always caves for if she asks.
Rose Gonzales -> Getting out of bed in the morning. She's more of a night owl and her line of work is easier done at night so there are plenty of mornings where she just doesn't want to be up at all and would rather sleep till noon if he could. The only way she's going to be up early is if she really wants to be in the garage before anyone else.
The Ripley's -> Going to sleep at night. Both iterations have trouble getting to bed and would rather stay up working until they simply passed out. Lying still in bed awake in the dark reminds them terribly of being trapped in the cave, so they prefer getting up in the morning to see the sunrise and start a new day.

Not me studying the missing upperclassmen of Scala to see if anyone looks familiar (like a somebody of Luxord and Demyx, but I don't think they fit that bill). However this looks like it's probably Baldr's missing sister.

These devices in Missing-Link are probably "links" lol. (Gee how would I have ever guessed)

Apparently the title Missing-Link refers to this taking place in the time between Union Cross and Dark Road (to link them). Makes sense as... that's what the game is.
Missing-Link could also be
-a missing link in a chain of memories
-a lost page of the Book of Prophecies
-a missing star connecting a constellation? (i.e. Yozora or Nameless Star reference)
-a missing person (plenty of candidates lmao. Nameless Star, Subject X, Ava, the population of Daybreak Town, the population of Scala ad Caelum, even Sora. Plus I am sure there will be even more murders *cough* 'missing people' during this game.)
Side note; I think it'd be cool if you got creepy correspondence from a missing person's link. 👀
It's probably also a slight reference to D-Links from BBS, which is how you tap into the trio's and Disney characters' powers. So your link is probably canonically how you use the medals shown. You probably equip your medals to set which moves you can use, like how it works in UX, with a mix of BBS since it’s now in 3D with 3D moves.
Cue me getting hype as hell. I love BBS style customization. UX had plenty of customization but now that it's in 3D we can actually get a heckton of recognizable moves from across the entire series as equippable medals. Watch me equip all Sonic Blades and just nope off into space.

Ignoring his very concerning words, this appears to be the Master of Masters and Luxu due to their stances. Which alright, we were already wondering how MoM got to Quadratum, but now Luxu is here as well? Is it that fucking easy to get to Quadratum? I mean it’s not SUPPOSED to be that easy. Sora and Strelitzia got there by DYING. They’re straight up DEAD. Xigbar went and faked his death and had a chat with the Foretellers and then apparently just moseyed on over to Quadratum??? They got some sorta secret backdoor to just go back and forth as much as they want? Well okay, maybe it’s not dissimilar to the dark corridors I suppose...

Also, the Master of Masters wanted to vacay in Quadratum to get away from the Darknesses who were chatting him up in UX, but where there is light, darkness will follow, so lookie here he introduced KH’s darkness and heartless and shit to this world, good job buddy.

I think Chile's general character and VA work can be blamed for that tbh. Ie, a character who's already a little aggressive has, after the og game, a va that makes her come off as very aggressive, whome the anime (both) ramps up certain traits of that. And unlike for P5, which occured after what i feel like is a shift towards scrutinizing anime if games, P4's anime was a lot of people's intro to it. Which creates an image of her that, while I dint think is unfair, isn't in lined with the game.
Of course bias be known, it might just be my circles being very vague but I do feel like P5, while for different reasons, gets the fandom punching bag bullshit to a worse degree. But that's also more or less because the internet's general culture in feel his shifted for the worse, so now you have stuff like twitter blogs dedicated to mocking fans who show passion in odd ways that ultimately don't hurt anyone. Or stuff like the struggle twitter.

Yeah, as much as I like Erin as a VA, I don't like her for Chie. Tracey!Chie just hits different and is A LOT more mellow. She still had energy but not like......a sugar hyped squirrel.
Ironically her aggression is always aimed at aggressors/oppressors (or just someone wronging someone else). Take the bullies in her SL. And even then it's mostly just her getting in your face. And she only gets in your face if......I guess you could say obvious injustice happening....like bullying (or you know.....forcibly signing her up for something she is forced to do). But yeah the anime took that....fairly human level character trait and RAMPED IT UP TO THE HEAVENS ....then brought it a back down to a more manageable level for the spinoffs (a better fate than her love for meat or Aki's protein shake now-trait u_u F in the chat for Fsteak orz).
I'd argue that the feelings towards games made into anime's weren't exactly positive during P4's anime time either. I remember a lot of people being worried because it already had a stigma. THAT BEING SAID, as an adaptation representing/reflecting/trying to be accurate to the game, P4's isn't great. As an adaptation that's making changes to attempt to tell a semblance of P4's story? Esp to someone who's never played P4? It does a decent job as an entry point for people who have never played. Like it's coherent enough. Does it change vital things? Yeah. Will newcomers notice? No. Will they at least get something that resembles competent media? To them yeah. To me? I still deal with the sins every day, it's my cross to bear. u_u
P5 got lucky that Persona became mainstream and it helped make it EVEN MORE mainstream, so when it's anime rolled around everyone was calling BS on it. Shame we couldn't have......something good come out of it. (If only Daybreakers was longer u_u)
I prefer to separate the characterizations. Like I don't mind multiple, but I wanna be fair to the char I wanna judge them base off of the original characterization. Like I've read the OG .hack books from Blackrose's perspective, so I sympathize with her. But I really should play the games so I can see her original characterization (without looking through her lens). I'm afraid I might not her as much (from what other's have said) but I can still maintain a separation of "I like the novel, but the OG source I don't like her from the outside perspective). So with Chie I'd rather people be like "I hated her in the anime, tho I know she's diff in the game and I'm glad for that, but at the same time I still have the negative association with the anime counterpart so I know it's that coloring my perspective....still not gonna like her tho." And that's fine. Just stop the smear campaign, I can't take it anymore! DX She didn't do anything wrong she just kicked shadows and saved my ass let her live! *sobs*
I do agree with the punching bag thing. I do see P5 becoming more and more of a punching bag..... I.... don't have any idea why (except "cringe" *eyeroll*). I know the reasons for P4 (and I do think that was....VERY unfair for P4). It feels more like people just want to mock P5 because it's popular. I don't like that the more I see it. Obviously I'm not a fan of P5, I'll tear it to shreds every chance I feel like (like on my own terms not like....cause someone's enjoying it, that's just rude). But what I won't do is shame someone for liking it (maybe IRL I'll say it as a joke with obvious joking inflection, and I'll clarify it's a joke, but that's it). You have every right to like P5, as I have every right to like P4. We also have every right to peel back and look into both games positively and negatively.
But yeah I feel like a lot of the punching stuff is....just being jerk to fans. P4 was misinfo being spread (same can be said about the FeMC, I swear I see one more brain dead take about her music on "fitting" I'm shoving a CD player up someone's ass and using their mouth as a gramophone). It feels more like people rag on P5 cause "fans like it" and "cringe." And????? Like????? There's a lot you can say that's wrong with P5......but why.....THAT? The fans did nothing wrong. And "cringe?" Fuck that. Embrace the cringe. What are we in middle school? Oh no can't like that, Timmy the "cool kid" with all his friends dictated that's not a cool thing to like. Well *gets in close to microphone* screw Timmy and his friends, like what you want. As long as you aren't hurting anyone it's fine. And last time I checked, liking P5 won't hurt anyone.

I do actually still recommend P5 to people (tho nowadays I really push to play P3/4 first if that's within reason for the person...... not cause I think they are better than P5, but 1) you appreciate the Igor twist more, 2) it's easier to so the combat going forward than backward so I'm thinking that's probs more helpful but that's just me thinking of the most optimal experience in enjoying all 3 games)

I recently got back into a thing I liked back in middle school and it's 100% deemed as cringe....like wherever you go (I don't care it's a dumpster fire, it keeps me warm and happy....it's my dumpster fire uwu). And I just wanted to vibe and enjoy the content the renaissance was getting without 1) getting bs thrown at me for liking it, 2) not flooding my main blog which is def Persona (and Megaten) themed cause y'all wouldn't want to see that.)
You just gotta curate your experience on the internet. Do what best protects your sanity.

I....don't know if the internet culture has shifted to a worse degree. Maybe. I do think it's different but equally worse to Tumblr's mega hivemind at it's peak. But now it's less hivemind and more EXTREMELY divided. Both bad, just different. Can't say that each experience is the same on each platform. It feels different depending if you are on Tumblr, Twitter, Reddit, Gamefaqs, 4chan, yadda yadda

i actually feel bad for ending this already. this plot is supposed to be with an oc and it should’ve been a fanfic i’ll post in ao3 but then since nitsu’s birthday and a new semester for me were coming up, i just thought i should post a shorter version so that i could still let out this plot. either way, to all who supported this twoshot, thank you! happy birthday my bb nitsu!!

“you look horrible, niisan.”
even in his sleep, he knows that voice. he could remember that sound everywhere. and out of all the words you chose to say to him, it was of those that made him want to crawl further underground into the depths of the world.
“(y/n)?”
he can feel your presence; strong and calm, as like a gentle rhythm in his ears. he can hear you now.
but how? is it because he’s unconscious? or is it because... you’ve found your true sound?
you moved like a tidal wave, your silence proving the placidity of your soul. he stood there, marveling you and the surprise of meeting you in the middle of a battle still stuck to him.
“(y/n)-chaaaan! you came to rescue us, didn’t you? didn’t you?”
“(y/n)! you’re here!”
he should be displaying that kind of affection yet it was one of uzui’s wives who had done so.
suma wrapped her arms around your neck, the woman overjoyed by your arrival.
zenitsu and even inosuke was confused.
“what? did i heard it right? you have a sibling???” he went towards the blonde, nudging him as they watched the interaction between you, makio and suma. 
you defeated the sash in just one surprise attack and it had caused a standstill for everyone who were in the area. for a moment, zenitsu thought you were the sound pillar due to your strength. however, when he heard your voice comment about him, he was left surprised even more. 
another figure comes from above, towering over everyone and catching their attention just like how you did.
“ah! good work, my successor!” zenitsu watches uzui ruffles your hair and proceeds to do the same to his two wives, feeling that slight tugging in zenitsu’s heart at how you affectionately received the sound pillar’s gesture.
he sullenly stares at your form, a mature version of the child you that he had always been worried of even ever since you two got separated. he wanted to see you, yes but he can’t accept the idea that you were finally in front of him, not even wearing any kind of excitement he harbors.
he should have expected it--with the way he just watched you go. 
he should have expected you to be mad at him. after all, it was his fault. he decided for the two of you and didn’t asked for your opinion. it was him who gave up and failed to protect the only person he could call a family at that time.
“aren’t you going to-” inosuke halts from his sentence the moment he felt the grimness in the air surrounding zenitsu. even with the blonde’s closed eyes,the boy could feel it just by the troubled look in his face.
thus, they let it go, just for awhile. 
you were silent throughout the battle and zenitsu only realized it when he heard your inner voice.
“breath of voice, first song: bolted melody”
you were not as fast as him but every time you make an attack, it’s as if a cold breeze brushes by his face at the smoothness of your movements, as if you were dancing to the songs of your techniques.
he had never heard of breath of voice before but now, he realized what could have been the reason for your silence, even as you two were little kids. you were meant to be a demon slayer of his breath, meant to train with a pillar and be a successor.
it gave him some kind of relief then. 
“breath of beast, eighth fang: pig assault!”
“breath of water, third form: beating tide!”
“breath of lightning, first form: thunderclap-flash: eightfold!”
“breath of voice, fifth sing: silent serenade.” even if you had your lips sealed tight, zenitsu could hear you. and the sound you emitted with your attack was overwhelming to the point that it caused their opponent to lose an ear by the time you had gotten near her.
he marveled upon your attacks but there was one problem; you still haven’t spoken to him.
and when the fight ended, the daybreak showing itself as the demons had vanished into thin air. yet, his attention was still on you, his eyes opening just in time to see the sunlight hit yours, making them brighten up just like how it was from before.
“(y-” you turned to him, the expression on your face vague, as if it was also confused of what to say or do or react.
“niisan.” there was longing in your voice but he dare not speak of it, afraid that it will disappear just like how you did before. now that you’re finally in front of him, alive and well, he could finally feel relieved that the sacrifice he made for the two of you before was worth it.
without another word, he lets you embrace him, even with the broken bones, gashes and wounds in both of your bodies.
he was having a hard time to grasp onto the moment as he also wraps his arms on you, dazed by how much he yearned for this moment to come—when he finally holds you in his arms the way he does before.
so even if there was awkwardness in the air and unresolved tension between siblings, for that single moment, zenitsu was grateful and felt proud of what he had done.
it was all worth it.

“i knew it! you two smells the same!”
both zenitsu and you gave tanjiro a weird look. by now, you four were in the engawa after the said boy had woken up. you and zenitsu still hadn’t spoken to each other but zenitsu could feel that you were slowly opening yourself up to him.
“twins? you both came out at the same time?” 
again, you two gave weird glances at inosuke, your reaction only making zenitsu feel comfortable in mimicking you. 
“i only came here to inform you that me and kanao will be handling your rehabilitation training.” you say, your voice a music to zenitsu’s ears.
“what?? aren’t you with us during the fight?!” inosuke questioned, earning you confused gazes from the three.
you sigh, sounding incredibly exhausted by just talking to them. zenitsu knows you were selectively mute but apparently, you had grown to be talking more than before. “shinobu-san cleared me already and assigned me with you three.” you narrowed your eyes at zenitsu, as if you were blaming him for taking your precious time.
“apparently, someone slipped out that we’re related.”
zenitsu chuckles, scratching the back of his head, acting guiltily.
you huffed but he could tell that you were not mad at all. a tall figure appears from behind you by the doorway, the sound pillar’s form appearing all of a sudden.
uzui ruffles your head and a smile appears on his lips before his gaze turns to the three. “good luck, kids. (y/n) over here got her strict attitude from me but she can be a softie like suma too.”
zenitsu watches from afar as you pout at the man, turning your head to look up at his towering figure. “hey-”
then, uzui turns to zenitsu, a grin appearing on his face. “don’t believe whatever (y/n) says. they still love you.”
“uzui-” you whine and zenitsu’s face lights up as he suddenly latches onto you, giving you a big embrace that he had been aching to do so. he snuggles to your back and you narrow your eyes at uzui, tanjiro and inosuke for chuckling at your state.
zenitsu had a bigger smile on his face once you relented, letting him stay in that position onto his heart’s content. 
it was indeed all worth it.

for @shitpostingfromthebarricade , who very nicely asked for an elaboration of my partial disagreement with the idea that Grantaire represents “the people”  of France or Paris: 
First let me say again it’s a partial  disagreement; I do think he represents a specific segment of the people. But one which is not ~~**~~ The People~~**~~  which I will hopefully be able to explain here?
- As far as “the people” goes, that term-- that specific  term, “the people” detached from other qualifiers-- especially in Hugo’s specific  political-social group-- seems to have been used mostly to mean the workers-- workers, small artisan-merchants, maybe peasants. If someone in a socialist-writer text of the period is called a “child of the people” it means they’re from the working class; if they’re a Man Of The People , ditto. Feuilly is the representative of The People in the Amis’ group-- Enjolras even specifically says so, in the middle of one of his full-on visionary speeches--Feuilly,vaillant ouvrier, homme de peuple, hommes des peuples” (valiant working-man,man of the people--and then the transition/combo that can be read as “man of all peoples”  or “men  of the people” , plural (or, actually, as “the people’s man”, depending on what you’re choosing to focus on. Lamarque song rewrite go!) .  For a guy with very few lines, Feuilly is specifically carrying a LOT of social/political representation here :P (and of course it’s even more Symbolic because Feuilly has no known human parents; his class background is also his family background, he’s of The People, full stop, not of any more specific background. )
We’re never given Grantaire’s exact socioeconomic background, and certainly working-class kids could go into art studies in certain circumstances-- but Grantaire also has no apparent job and has a lot of middle-class-kid hobbies (boxing, singlestick, dancing, etc etc). Everything about Grantaire marks him as middle-class in background, currently choosing to vie-boheme it up. He’s definitely not a representative of “the people” in this sense. 
I also can’t go with Grantaire representing Paris, at least not Full On Spirit Of Paris.  Leaving aside that Grantaire specifically disavows Paris and his own Parisian-ness in Preliminary Gayeties, Hugo sets up very specific symbolism and character for Paris in Les Mis, and he’s pretty direct about it!
 Hugo’s Paris is wild, bold, anarchic, laughing, unafraid of violence, sometimes lazy or careless but essentially generous, bold, insightful and daring, and always  inherently inclined to liberty (and also essentially Romantic at its heart, because this is a Hugo novel and anything good has to be essentially Romantic at heart:P)  (and Hugo has a Lot of Feelings about Paris). Paris in miniature--Paris Atomized, Paris made human-- is Gavroche,  not Grantaire. Even among just the Amis, the one closest to being Hugo’s Paris Avatar is Bahorel, who shares so many echoes of the gamin chapters in his intro, the group’s flâneur-- flâner est Parisien!--and connection to the city,  in the same way Feuilly is their connection to the wider world and internationalist causes.  
But like I said, I do  really think Grantaire represents a part of the population of Paris! An important part! 
Specifically, he’s representing that part of the population that wants to take a damn break.   The part that feels that “of great events, great hazards, great adventures, great men, thank God, we have seen enough, we have them heaped higher than our heads”,(4.1.1) the part that having found a seat wants to sit.  The perhaps selfish, but very understandable, part of the population that is secure enough itself to feel like it will do nothing but lose in another revolution, that “some one whose name is all” that says “I am young and in love, I am old and I wish to repose, I am the father of a family, I toil, I prosper, I am successful in business, I have houses to lease, I have money in the government funds, I am happy, I have a wife and children, I have all this, I desire to live, leave me in peace.” (5.1.20)
That is to say...Grantaire is representing the apathetic, the burned out, and the bourgeoisie. 
This is certainly not the most flattering thing to be representing, but then Grantaire isn’t a particularly aspirational  character--not until the very end of his arc, when he stands up and announces himself For The Ideal. Like the people who close their doors,like the bourgeoisie who just wants to rest, he doesn’t hate the ideal, really...but he’s had Enough Trying, he wants peace and security and to not die or see his loved ones die,  and all of that is very understandable! But if he were genuinely happy  with that...well he wouldn’t be with the Amis at all. He also wants that Ideal, a better kinder world, and unfortunately to get that he’s going to have to stand up.
..Well, not him, personally,of course. When he  stands up he’s-a-gonna die, albeit in a super symbolic transformational/salvational way.  But the Not Very Subtle At All implication is that this is where the revolution wins: when the comfortable people , and especially  the bourgeoisie (well, as Hugo defines them), who have been sitting down, sleeping, wake up and take part. 
(This is of course true in a grand sense-- revolutions need mass participation! -- and it’s also true in the very specific sense of what went down in 1830 vs 1832. In 1830, a lot of the bourgeoisie did  get involved , and it’s a big part of why that went as smoothly as it did. But in 1832, by and large they said No Thanks We’re Good; a handful of students and some wild Romantics really was about all participation outside of the working/poor classes. But this is already so freaking long and this is not a Barricade Day post!) 
So: all of that very  long ramble is to say, yeah, I think Grantaire is symbolizing not The People (who are , symbolically and historically, already on the barricade)  but a specific and crucial subset of The People Of France (Or Wherever), which is why I never feel like I can go either “Yeah!!” or  “Ugh No” when I see a “Grantaire is the people” mention. :P

With this crazy year finally being thrown to the wolves, I thought I’d share some of my favorite songs. Usually I rank songs based on my mood, but I thought long and hard about this list to make it as accurate to my tastes as possible. In addition to the musical elements, I’ve also considered my personal experience with each song. With that said, get ready for a list that defines the phrase, “all over the place.”
10. ”約束” - Roselia
Translating to “Promise,” this Roselia song rounds out the list with its dynamic highs and lows and metric complexities. Combine that with Roselia’s signature sound and you have yourself a straight up banger. There are a lot of feel changes, with sections of 3 against 4 polymeter, steady rock groves, and a double time chorus, and this keeps the song interesting and super fun to listen to. Not to mention the powerful lead vocals, courtesy of Yukina Minato, played by the insanely talented Aina Aiba, as well as the occasional trading of vocal lines with bassist Lisa Imai, voiced by Yuki Nakashima, allow the song to really shine.

9. “Avant-garde HISTORY” - Roselia
Going up the list now we have another Roselia song. This song is marked by its progressive rock influence in the intro, with a lack of adherence to a single key or time signature, all while remaining an epic intro to the majestic 6/8 rock ballad that follows. Combining rock with orchestral elements is a recipe for greatness, and Roselia really pulled through here. The lead vocals are supported by a chorus of the other members in a really significant way in this song, contributing even more to the sheer glory that it exudes. Add in some huge drum fills and epic buildups between sections, and it creates this absolute work of art.

8. “Ride” - Samuel R. Hazo
No, this is not the twenty one pilots song, nor is it a cover. It’s a wind ensemble piece chock full of the good stuff. Spicy harmonies, giant fanfares, fast runs, solos, time signature changes, heavy yet tasteful use of percussion, what’s not to love? I really wanna play this in band one day, because aside from being fun to listen to, it’s a real challenge to play, especially with a large ensemble. Wind ensemble pieces in general are really cool because they are light-years ahead of most modern music in terms of dynamic contrast, and "Ride” has a ton of it.

7. “Amaryllis” -  Shinedown
I honestly don’t know how to describe why I like this song so much; I just do. It’s a really nice song. The amaryllis as a flower is extremely beautiful, sporting vivid reds and pinks in its petals, and that imagery really shone through with its lyrics and 6/8 ballad feel. I’d like to mention the key signature as well. The key of D♭ just feels like a beautiful key signature, and here that beauty was thoroughly reflected.

6. “FIRE BIRD” - Roselia
Back again with another Roselia song. First of all, this song is great because of the story of the Phoenix. I always thought an immortal bird of fire rising from the ashes was such a glorious thing, and this song captures the essence of this tale perfectly. A quiet start with just piano and vocals gives way to a ginormous sounding intro as all the band members sing as a choir, which then leads into a crazy double-time groove which persists throughout the song. Combine that with Roselia’s sound and you get a triumphant anthem that’s sure to energize anyone and anything.

Off of one of the greatest rock albums in my opinion, “Guilty All The Same” is nothing short of a masterpiece. A nearly 6-minute song, and it’s never boring for a second. The unique drum grooves and use of 3 against 4 polymeter are what make this song so damn interesting to listen to, and lead singer, Chester Bennington’s, vocals are nothing short of spectacular. Rakim’s verse in the bridge combined with the sick guitar riff and the drums backing them up makes it one of the best combinations of rock and rap that I’ve heard.

4. “LOUDER” - Roselia
This being one of the first Roselia songs I’ve listened to, it has a really special place in my heart. But musically, it’s super awesome too. At a blistering 195 BPM, it’s one of the fastest songs on here, meaning it’s also super fun to play on the drums. It also changes keys between the verses and choruses from D minor to D major and back. And of course, who could forget lead vocalist Yukina Minato guiding the song through her soaring melodic lines. All in all, it’s a great song that managed to top my Spotify Wrapped.

3. “Transcendent Journey” - Rossano Galante
Now we’re talking about the true bangers of my music taste. I love Galante’s music because it’s always so dynamic always with super melodious lead parts. This piece is no different in that sense. It really feels like a journey. Fast woodwind runs supporting soaring brass lines, quiet woodwind melodies, blazing fanfares, and varied tempo make this piece of music really feel like a spiritual journey. There’s so much about this piece that I just can’t put into words so you just have to listen for yourself.

2. “Nostalgia” - Rossano Galante
Another wind ensemble piece making the top 3? Well, aside from being a beautiful piece musically, it brings a lot of good memories for me personally as well. We played this for my band’s spring concert when I was in 8th grade. As 8th graders, our ensemble included the high school band students as well, and that was the year one of my favorite seniors was graduating. He was such a big role model for me, and the entire concert was extremely emotional. This was my favorite piece we had programmed that night, and it’s made its way into my favorite songs of all time.

1. “The Catalyst” - Linkin Park
This was one of those songs. You know those songs that you fall in love with as soon as you hear it for the first time? Yeah, this was that. With every listen, I only liked it more and more, and it crawled its way to the top. It starts off soft, but it just keeps building. Everything builds and builds and becomes increasingly chaotic until it all collapses in the second half of the song. From there, the repeated lyrics “Lift me up, let me go” carry this song to its epic finale, in which we feel the culmination of all that chaos from earlier. Not only does the song work so well as a standalone track, its use as the penultimate track on “A Thousand Suns” (my favorite album of all time) serves as the final climax before resolving the intricate story weaved by the album. This is a perfect song if I have ever heard one.

It’s kiiiinnda funny but like the puppet episode it feels like there’s no real point to it nobody learns anything. and it’s also a little too absurd and out there.
92. Biology 101 (s03e01)
I hate this episode for introducing inspector spacetime and chang as a security guard, 2 elements i don’t like. S3 has a lot of good episodes but it’s where the show began to decline in my opinion. it gets points for the musical number at the beginning
91. Spanish 101 (s02e01)
Have I mentioned that I hate how sympathetic the show was to Pierce in season 1 even tho he’s like.... a bad person. his character did not age well.
90. Advanced Introduction to Finality (s04e13)
I guess my second hot take is I didn’t dislike this episode that much (or at least not as aggressively as some of y’all)? Like I get that it’s dumb and kind of pointless but apart from that it’s kind of a fun ride. Not good by any means tho lmao.

Season 6 is so weird and confusing and the emotional core of this episode was all over the place. is it an abed episode? a jeff episode? what’s happening. why was chang briefly a famous actor.

78. Horror Fiction in Seven Spooky Steps (s03e05)
“Wait! Teach me to read!” Is one of the funniest one liners of the show. And I love abed humming daybreak. but the rest of the episode is pretty ehhh for me.
77. Repilot (s05e01)
It’s not strictly bad but it’s just kinda sad. I want these characters to be happy:( Also there’s literally and interview from pre s4 where dan says that jeff would become a lawyer one day and that if the show lasted they would expand it beyond just the community college but then they chickened out and just brought everyone back. it feels like they could have done the show w/o making everyone a student/teacher again. i wish they let these characters grow more. (especially Annie plz let Annie go to a real university!!!!)
76. Lawnmower Maintenance and Postnatal Care (s06e02)
Jim Rash is v funny. I love Annie and Abed’s roommate dynamic. Gillian Jacobs is v funny. everything else in this episode is awkward.
75. Football, Feminism, and You (s01e06)
I was convinced this episode was amazing for a long time but then i realized that it’s boring and I just love the “that’s racist” sequence.
74. Advanced Safety Feature (s06e07)
This episode grew on me! Not great by any means but I can enjoy it. Gillian Jacobs funny. also I will say this episode makes me realize that i have no idea why elroy is here as a character. like i like elroy independently but it’s like.... does he have any emotional attachment to these people? why is he here?
73. Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts (s03e11)
Not much to say it’s very “just kinda there”. i like the normal-ication of abed and troy.

[Dystopia : The Tree of Language] by Dreamcatcher - Album Review
So I’m finallly doing this! To be honest, after Deja Vu, my expectations for this comeback were extremely high and I was hoping to see something quite amazing from the girls and, to be fair, I believe they totally delivered. Not only were the teasers for this album absolutely beautiful and ethereal, very unique, in my opinion, they also went on a slightly different direction music wise, as this album isn’t as dark as the rest of Dreamcatcher’s discography, but still has their flavour.
I would like to also add that this is only my opinion. Please, don’t take any of what I say too personal.

Intro (1:20) : This is a very short track and it feels quite menacing to listen to, a bit like a horror movie OST, but the good type. It gave me chills, but left me thrilled from what it was going to come next, especially as it softens it’s melody completely in the end.

Scream (3:24) : I want to talk about the music video, the choreography and the lyrics regarding this track as I believe they all add to the full experience. So the MV was preceded with wonderful teasers about the story of this particular album and as a sucker for things like this, I fell immediatly in love with those, which led me to fall head over heels with the video. Aesthetic wise, I couldn’t ask for anything more, besides that I wish some scenes were recorded outside of a studio. Apart from this, the colours, clothes, hairstyles and shots are absolutely amazing. Gahyeon was the one who caught my eye the most this time around, specially in her part at 1:30 and 2:17. The plot wasn’t completely understandable throughout the music video, but I believe that is for Insomnias and other viewers to make theories of their own. 
The choreography is so powerful and much more sensual, in the chorus mostly, compared to their previous ones. I think they absolutely did amazing and, once again, pulled this concept really well. Not only this, but they’ve also managed to incorporate Handong’s position in it, which is truly a really sweet thing from them. I think it’s better seen in the 'Scream' Dance Video (연습실 ver.) , as the girl with the mask on represents Handong.
When it comes to the song, this is obviously very different from, for example, Deja Vu and PIRI. Even so, this has quickly become one of my favourite comebacks from them. Vocal wise, Siyeon and Yoohyeon did amazing and sing beautifully and powerfully, while Gahyeon and Dami absolutely destroyed in an awesome way with both of her rap bits. The song is quite balanced and the build-up is really well done, while the drop that follows makes everything so much more enjoyable.
Lyrically, the song tells the story of someone who goes through a lot of pain to want to inflict the same damage on their perpretator. It goes from someone who was compeltely terrified from another person to want to defend themselves and stand up to their abuse. My personal favourite is:
“Tricks behind the mask, ridiculous freaks The growing hatred gives birth to random targets I swallow up the burning thirst but hypocrisy says it’s my fault The end is sitting at the edge of a cliff It’ll be a choice that only remains regret “
Tension (3:11) : Ah, the beginning of this song alone left me thrilled, the guitars made it so awesome! Listening to the song, it feels a bit like something that would fit really well in one of their first albuns and that sort of feeling of nostalgia makes the track quite enjoyable. I don’t think this one is very memorable though, as fun as it is. The build up gets tiring after a while, but, nonetheless, still a really good song. It also reminds me a lot of those old anime intros for a shounen genre anime type!

Red Sun (3:05) : This is by far my favourite song of the whole album. It’s absolutely amazing just from the start it has, it feels creepy, reminding a bit of Chase Me or GOOD NIGHT eras. Afterwards that, Dami comes and completely wrecks the listener, she sounds powerful, sexy and amazing. I think the main reason for this to be my favourite is because it mixes a lot of favourites from Dreamcatcher. It captures that sentiment of eeriness, while having a sort of fun, but calm type of melody in it’s chorus, reminding me a lot of Wonderland and July 7th . This is a track I definitely recommend listening to.
Black or White (3:24) : This song is so cool and I believe it goes well with the vibe that the group initially had on their debut. It’s a bit different from Scream but it still has the power and tenacity one expects from Dreamcatcher. The chorus is extremely catchy and fun, in my opinion, and Dami’s parts, as well with Siyeon’s and Yoohyeon’s, are definitely my favourites. The only complain I have is that when the melody softens, the song kind of loses the grip it once had on the listener in the beginning.

Jazz Bar (3:34) :  The title is completely appropriate as it truly feels like I’m listening to this song in a badly lighten bar, smoke clouds surrounding me, a wine glass in my hand, while watching these beautiful women perform a lovely song, calmly and elegantly singing. My biggest criticism with this track would be the fact that Black or White creates a lot of momento and excitement that is lost with the quietness of this song.
SAHARA (3:10) : I really wanted to like this song as, except for the chorus, this is something rather different from what they’ve done before, but I genuinely feel this track comes off as a bit messy and kind of cringy in my opinion. The best part for this song and for sure, the most epic of it, was from minute 2:45. The momento is slowly build up and things get cooler, to only end very shortly after.

In the Frozen (3:16) : The beginning of this song does not prepare the listener for the amount of noise that the track itself has. However, it can still be enjoyable. To be honest, the first time, I listened to this, I got a major headache from the chorus alone, but it’s still quite awesome and the vocals mixed with those sounds work just fine. Just like the previous song, it starts getting real good in the end, to just be ruined with this dubstep mess, sigh. I do not advise you to listen to this, if you are a bit sensitive as I am.
Daybreak (3:03) : Once again, a bit like Jazz Bar, this track breaks the mold of the album with it’s calm and soothing melody. To be fair, it was a genius take to put it after In The Frozen, as it will heal the headache you’ll get. Anyway, Daybreak is a good, cute and addicting song. The girls sing in a very delicate way as if they are almost trying not to hurt the one listening in some instances.

Full Moon (3:09) : This song is a bit of a Chase Me 2.0 in a softer light and I love it for that. I truly loved that song and I’m happy that sort of vibe and metal-ish sound is back in a track. I kind of wish that the song would have been a bit longer as I feel like it was rather short and could have been developed a bit more, but even so, the chorus and bridge sounded amazing.
Outro (1:03) : Compared to the Intro, this “last” track is much calmer. I believe it ends the album well, still having that eerie vibe that mostly followed each song here.

Paradise (4:03) : I wanted this ballad to be much more than it is. As soon as I listened the first bit I was a bit unimpressed, but it grew a lot in me throught the many, many versions that were posted by HappyFace Entertainment on Youtube (White Version, Black Version, Piano Version and Original Version). The chorus can become quite tiring after a while, but I understand why many loved this song as Siyeon won the lyrics and beat very well with her vocals. My criticism goes mostly towards to how boring it sounds, despite the quick rhythm. It just feels very generic to me.

thoughts on Dystopia: The Tree of Language by Dreamcatcher 
this album was recommended to me so i thought id write about my first impressions! cause why not!
for reference: i know little more beyond dreamcatcher title tracks and that one of their members has a name that starts with s? and theres potentially someone with a g?
this is very long and i get kind of gay so dont say i didnt warn you
first of all, what a dope title. Dystopia: The Tree of Language how badass does one, already very badass group, have to be? iconic, i love it, i feel like im in an angsty teen dystopian slightly-fantasy young adult novel (think the books of umber for those who know it). im already intrigued
intro:
god damn it this album has an intro. any album with an intro is going to be amazing because intros really do give the first taste of an album’s color and what to expect but also just sound so fucking cool. this kind of reminds me of stray kids? like a victory song piano cover? its dope i love it 40/10
scream:
the VOCALS, the MUSIC, legendary. literally such a good example of a title track. keeps very much in line with what i know of dreamcatcher (rock, strong vocals, contrast between soft and hard beats) but definitely shows a growth from deja vu which im pretty sure is their debut song. i love the rapper’s tone. this couldve been a really repetitive song but it does such a good job of playing with style and tone while still sounding very cohesive. 12098/10 would give 5 stars on yelp
tension:
sounds like an anime op and i fuck with that so hard. like what bhna fight is this the bgm for? maybe in demon slayer? i feel like this would just genuinely sound so cool in japanese and would very much like to hear it. 
red sun:
sexy nuns. i like im in a church secretly run by sexy vampires posing as women of the faith and that is an image i can really support. seriously though, i think this is really funky and i like the percussion (my four years in band are failing me so idk what instrument that is but its the glockenspiel with wooden bars).
black or white:
exact quote: “oh. OH this is dope” these women have such cool sounding vocals. we love to see some good altos and tenors get recognition their time to shine. i love the fake beat drops? like that moment where you think were gonna fuck shit up, it’s just that “black or white” line and its thrilling.
jazz bar:
video game speak easy music. like let this play while i find that one npc character who i inevitably fall in love with during game play and then get crushed when they become irrelevant to the story at large. reminds me of postmodern jukebox. a modern jazzy sound and its so good
sahara:
cowboys? but make it rock and roll? ok very much so lindsey stirling’s roundtable revival music video (go watch it its cool). ladies i dont understand korean but i do understand that this song HITS. yes guitar crescendo! that staccato sa-ha-ra really hits different. kind of reminds me of say my name by ateez. 
in the frozen:
this is the only bside ive heard! and it was in a remix so i hadn’t heard the original version before and god it’s like if elsa went through an emo phase. like let it go but make it my chemical romance. 
daybreak:
oh this is lovely. reminds me of a loona solo song but i cant remember which one so thats gonna bug me forever. really pretty and helps round out the album. more interesting cafe music. legitimately shows their range and helps showcase their softer side but still manages to not sound jarring with the rest of the album
full moon:
the title of this song makes me think of twilight but thats stupid cause the book is called new moon but whatever. n e ways twilight wishes it could be as sexy as this song. this song sounds like what stephanie meyer portrayed edward cullen’s car to be. 
outro:
reminds me of alice’s theme by danny elfman (from the liveaction movie). a little haunting, a little feminine, a lot good. not what i expected from the outro but i think its a nice, subtle closing to the album.
overall thoughts:
this album is incredibly sexy and deserves lots of love. the vocal and musical range is so nice to listen to and it’s such a contrast to the more pop/upbeat gg music that’s in the industry right now. this album sounds very sure of itself and like it knows what it’s trying to do. dreamcatcher has found their color and are making such wonderful use of it. i definitely have to check out the rest of their stuff :D

[In My Dreams] Reo Speedwagon
This is the song that made me search the internet for any music / song in-depth reviews because for some reason, I just loved it so much. I tried searching for it but I wasn't able to find any. So I decided, if I can't find what I'm looking for, I'll make one myself (Got it from Mythic Quest).
Please note that everything I will write is my based on my opinion only, no facts, no studies, pure feelings.
Without further ado, this is what I feel when I listen to 'In My Dreams' by Reo Speedwagon.
[Intro]
This song opens with a very chill and relaxing intro. It’s like an entrance to paradise. Also, the bass and guitar are very subtle. The whole tune is very fitting based on the title
There was a time some time ago When every sunrise meant a sunny day, oh a sunny day But now when the morning light shines in It only disturbs the dreamland where I lay, oh where I lay
A very pleasant entrance, the voice is very gentle and calming, it’s like it’s welcoming you into the song. These 4 lines also describe one of the key points of the song already (which is dreaming > reality) and gives us an idea of the songs nature.
I used to thank the lord when I'd wake For life and love and the golden sky above me
Voice is getting higher but still gentle here, I don't know I just love how it sounds.
But now I pray the stars will go on shinin', you see in my dreams you love me
Here we hear a very awesome guitar riff with a great entrance. We also hear the second key point of the song: The reason why dreaming > reality, is because ‘she’ loves ‘me’ there (lol same). 
Daybreak is a joyful time Just listen to the songbird harmonies, oh the harmonies But I wish the dawn would never come I wish there was silence in the trees, oh the trees
These 4 lines almost have the same meaning as the first 4 lines of the first stanza. And it also supports the first key point of the song.
If only I could stay asleep, at least I could pretend you're thinkin' of me 'Cause nighttime is the one time I am happy, you see in my dreams
Here the beat stops for a bit and all we hear is his voice (for just a few seconds). I love this part where the song just transitions from a gentle melody to a somewhat, almost banger and faster tune. And it did so well that the transition doesn’t feel forced or changed, it just really felt natural and awesome.
[Chorus] We climb and climb and at the top we fly Let the world go on below us, we are lost in time
Also, the way the beat just suddenly drops here and the electric guitar just comes in is very cool. Also his voice is still very soothing but at the same time it's fast (I really don't know how he does that)
And I don't know really what it means All I know is that you love me, in my dreams
The way he sang "And I dont..... KNOW really..." is just awesome. The way it lingers for just a second ("And I don't..) and then suddenly BOOM ("KNOW really what it means"). And it's followed by another great line. Honestly, this is my favorite part of the song, it really just pumps you up even if it has a sad meaning. Which is the third point (It doesn't matter what is happening in said dream, important thing is, ‘she’ loves ‘me’). I don't know I love this song so much
[Guitar Solo]
Once again, another great guitar solo. It’s really so awesome how an electric guitar can fit right into this kind of song (judging from its intro).
I keep hopin' one day I'll awaken, and somehow she'll be lying by my side And as I wonder if the dawn is really breakin' She touches me and suddenly I'm alive
What a nice bridge from the solo to another chorus. Also, I just want to say, the drums and the guitar sound really really cool. The drums’ sudden entrance for the chorus. The guitar’s strumming to match the lines (also it’s faint sound in the background being plucked / picked? sorry I don’t really know)

That ‘we are lost in taaaaiaime’ is just awesome.

I don’t why but I always feel like the “And I don't know really what it means “ in this part of the song is the one where the tension is really high. Maybe because it has a higher tune than the rest? or maybe because there are two choruses in a row? or maybe it’s because it’s the last chorus? I don’t know but I just always feel pumped the most during this part and it’s just feels awesome.
Oohh, in my dreams
The guitar here is just simply cool as it follows the singer as if the guitar was also singing. I love it.
[Outro]
Anddd we’re back to the chill tune just like the intro. Almost as if it’s back to sleeping again after a short burst of emotions we just felt after hearing the whole song.
Anyway, I know not all people know or like these types of songs but I just wanted to share it nonetheless.

Dystopia: The Tree of Language Album Review
As an InSomnia I’ve learned to expect the unexpected with Dreamcatcher - yes they have an established sound, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the contents of each album and this is no exception! I’m glad they've moved back to a harder hitting, darker sound when compared to the Raid of Dream album as a whole. DC continues their exploration into other genres while still retaining that sound that they’re known for now.
1. Intro: This intro is very cinematic, if that makes sense? Like it makes me feel like I’m watching a movie with the images that come to mind while listening. LEEZ & Ollounder continue to experiment heavily with their intros. It’s much more akin to Déjà vu than I was expecting, and yet again it leaves me wishing it were a full song (7/10)
2. Scream: the biggest departure from their sound in a title, it nonetheless is another banger. And I have been awaiting the return of RAP GOD GAHYEON!! Seriously tho, the darker sounds are present again, instead of the previous song which I would describe as ethereal. Still not sure how I feel about the chorus, it’s weaker compared to their previous title tracks, but maybe I shouldn’t be comparing. (8.5/10)
3. Tension: I can see how this is kind of a sister song to Good Night, it’s just pure simple rock and I love it. The prechorus sounds like it’s juust about to go “oh baby run run run” at the beginning of the chorus lol. I’ll definitely be replaying this one endlessly (9/10)
4. Red Sun: ooh now this sounds very gothic/medieval, very cool how they made this sound. THAT DAMI RAP! My forte is rock, but the slow funkiness also gives a slightly creepy feeling which I am loving. (8/10)
5. Black or White: this is some groovy bass! The contrast behind the rap and the vocals in the latter half of the song are so ambitious. Can’t say I love the repetitive “black or white” but then again that’s the only part in English so it’s notable. Not my style, but I can dig it (7/10)
6. Jazz Bar: going with some more hella descriptive track titles I see lol, wow does this mid album track totally bring the dark rock atmosphere to a screeching halt (but not in a bad way). Feels like a nice breath of fresh air, or maybe a Dark Souls save point is more accurate hah. As they said, this song would fit in the background of a coffee shop  (8/10)
7. Sahara: and we’re back to rock, again super fitting title I feel like I’m in a desert with that opener. The slow “Sa-ha-ra, ra, ra, ra” part is so great, and the hard drumbeats and guitar make it that much better. I don’t think Dami needed to be autotuned, but it’s a cool effect, and I don’t mind it. And I love that she joins in the chorus too! I had a feeling this one would be the other standout, and I’m pleased to see that I was correct (9/10)
8. In The Frozen: I was anticipating more electronica somewhere on this album, so glad to see it mixed with a few more styles here. Even slower than ever, but it’s still lit (8/10)
9. Daybreak: heavily R&B style and slow, so not really my thing. I think this is probably the weakest song on the album (6/10)
10. Full Moon: we all know it, we all love it, something about our 1st fan song finally making it on a full album just makes me smile :) this song has really grown on me throughout the years to be my #2, I think it’s pretty much perfect. Perfect amount of guitar, drums, piano, rap, it’s just a fantastic song even without considering all of its fandom significance (10/10)
11. Over the Sky: it’s been said a million times, but yes this sounds like an anime song, more so than their others. Peppier than most DC songs, it’s still a great very fast rock piece that holds special significance as our 2nd anniversary fan song even if it’s not in my top 10 favorites (8/10)
12. Outro: very subdued and brings to mind water imagery. A fitting end to an album that (except for Jazz Bar) was dark as ever, if not even more so. As far as an independent piece, I think it could have been more interesting (6.5/10)
13. Scream Instrumental: I actually really appreciate the title track instrumentals for DC. You can always find something new that you might not have noticed in the song because of the lyrics taking most of your attention. I definitely did not notice how barebones this song is aside from the beats until the chorus in the regular song. And the anticipation of that scream is haunting (7/10)
14. Paradise: DCC was spot on, this song is a perfect bridge between the Raid of Dream album, and the themes of this one. And of course, no one could deny Siyeon’s wonderful voice. I was hoping it would be more on display in some of the other songs, but I digress. It deserves a high score for the awoo’s alone (9/10)
I’ll admit, usually I’m a bit worried when it comes to full-length albums because it’s just tough to fit that many high quality songs onto one album. This is LEEZ & Ollounder we’re talking about tho; there’s no one else I would trust to produce an amazing album. While I can’t say for sure yet if any of these songs will make it into my top Dreamcatcher favorites list, this group’s versatility is as impressive as ever. If there’s one thing it was missing, it’s Handong’s calm voice that’s perfect for prechoruses or bridges. I actually didn’t expect there to be this much of a difference, but for someone that listens to A LOT of Dreamcatcher, it is very noticeable. Hopefully this will be the only album without her! Overall album score: 8.5/10

kh3 comes out in a week (!!!!!) and i have some kh hottakes and kh3 predictions/wishes bc im emotional and ive been playing this series since i was 5 years old lmfao but feel free to chat w me about them!!!!!!!
i love xion just as much as the next person but why would they waste the BEST character theme and battle music on this tiny tiny character that showed up for 5 seconds compared to the series in total lol. 
if they dont confirm that riku and sora love each other as more than friends (even if they dont end up like, together) then im lowkey callin queerbaiting. is that a stretch? idk
i really want for the end of kh3 that some characters dont go home, and at least three of them stay back (rebuild the land of departures?) and become fulltime masters and take on kids to train
i want sora to GO HOME AND STAY HOME (for a while at least) at the end
i want kh3 to be the last real game (they can make spinoffs all they want idc but they should End It for good here)
i know this is the end of the xehanort saga but according to nomura, he said kh3 isnt the last of soras story but like..... why not. it should be tbh
kh would be more accessible if they just modeled it more after ff i think. it doesnt need to be dark or mature or anything but if they handled the crossover thing better i think a lot more people would be down for this series (even w the complicated plot)
speaking of, they have to clear up a million plot holes in kh3. was sora the only chosen one and then the keyblade just required more people later on? never explained. how can roxas be “saved” when sora is alive? makes no sense, based on everything dictated in kh2 and days
mickey should not be one of the 7. his role shouldve stayed super limited and mysterious like it was in kh1. his inclusion as a major character in kh2 and onward is..... awful lol. 
they shouldve introduced a new original character as one of the 7 and tied in khux at the same time (we know time travel is do-able bc idk young nort was able to do that)
i fully know this would make the plot more wild but if we tie in an original character from daybreak town, it would come full circle and make khux like, idk, worth it
i want the FORETELLERS TO COME BACK AND BE IMPORTANT TO KH3
also i need an explanation for why larxene and marluxia cant wield keyblades when they are nobodies of keyblade wielders..... like thats why roxas was unique right so... why squeenix
overall i think khux was a huge mistake but its so fun to play that i almost dont care anymore lmfao

i want many more cutscenes explaining all the drama happening between ansem the wise and xehanort and the other apprentices. what was the lead up to xehanort going from seeing AtW as a father figure to then betraying him and stealing his research and identity? like throw me a bone here that shits interesting!!!!
pls no more drive form grinding for upgrades just to reach treasures and collectables (see: kh2.5 and the stickers, and the cavern of remembrance)
let me be clear, i love hidden dungeons that are challenging. just let me rely on leveling my base stats over relying on my drive form upgrades and abilities to finish these dungeons
mad that everyone got cool new outfits (except kairi sweet girl im so sorry they made u look younger than u did in the first game i hate it. u deserved better baby) but lea. lea is still in the black org coat and there better be an explanation for that at the very least (or they just did trailers w him in the black coat and he does get an outfit that they didnt want to spoil??? i highly doubt this but i can hope)
i caved in and watched the leaked kh3 intro and a few things: 1) it really doesnt spoil that much and if u want to watch it but ur scared, literally dont be its fine. 2) its good, but squeenix has REALLY lost its touch w intro movies nowadays. they cram every second w symbolism and they dont take their time to just.... show us something good. like i couldnt blink at all during this intro lmfao. its a little annoying but despite all that, its alright. 3) the first minute of face my fears is CHILLING, WIG-SNATCHING, LIKE UTADA IS A LYRICAL AND MUSICAL GENIUS, but then the rest of the song is objectively awful im sorry its true and im gonna say it
last hot take: i usually hate remasters and re-releases, but im glad squeenix released all the kh games on one platform eventually. that being said, kh1.5 and kh2.5 dont have shit on the original ps2 titles. i completely realize i sound like a bitter old man but i dont care, the original numbered titles are better on ps2.
