Kibbutz menara in the north has been half demolished by hezbollah
Nonnie, I hope it's okay to add to this ask, another one on the same subject, kibbutz Menara:
Can you write about the huge damage to kibbutz menara in your next update post? Tysm for them
And just in case both are from you, I'm so sorry I hadn't posted about this before, I did think of adding it to one of my daily update posts, but then I thought this deserves a post of its own, so I hope this ask reply dedicated to the subject will do it some justice.
(also, thank you for the kind words about my daily update posts! That means so, so very much! *hearts*)
Hezbollah has been targeting civilian communities along Israel's northern border. Kibbutz Menara is situated incredibly close to the border. I heard one journalist, who described the distance as, "There's the border fence, a narrow road running along it, and on the road's other side, the kibbutz fence," but looking up Menara on the map, sometimes it's not even that. Here's the map:
Tumblr media
The kibbutz is also high up the mountain, making it very easy for Hezbollah to target this community, and very difficult for Israeli forces to defend. This image can give you an idea of what we're talking about:
Tumblr media
I heard on the news that when fire broke out at one point, firefighters couldn't even approach the kibbutz, because Hezbollah's rockets made it too dangerous, and they just had to sit back, and watch the fire rage uncontrolled.
On Dec 24, Orly Yitzchak, a senior member of the kibbutz, said that 86 out of 155 apartments at Menara have been damaged, so we're talking about over half of the homes in this community at that point. And that's about two weeks ago, when Hezbollah's terrorist activity on Israel's border has only increased since.
Just to give everyone some context regarding this kibbutz... It was founded in 1943, as a community for Jewish youths from Germany and Poland, meaning young Holocaust survivors. The land for it was purchased a short while before the kibbutz was established. The conditions were very rough at first, for example supplies had to be brought there on mules, and at the beginning, the kibbutz members slept in tents and caves. A proper road was only completed in 1947. The first water pipe took longer, it was only inaugurated in 1953. During Israel's Independence War, the kibbutz was besieged from March to May 1948, and food had to be smuggled in at night, while some of the younger kids had to be secretly smuggled out (if you read the novel Exodus or watched its movie version, there's a fictional account of this real event). The kibbutz continued to be under attack even after the end of the war, including its water pipe being blown up in 1965, and community members being murdered along the years.
That's some of what the elders of the kibbutz had been through, the same people who now, at their old age, are forced to evacuate their community, live as refugees in their own country, and no one knows yet if they'll have any homes to return to. Roni, one kibbutz member, said in an interview that it's the community's elders who are strengthening the rest, and asking the younger generation to return to it no matter what.
There aren't a lot of photos taken there since the start of the war, but here are a few, just to give you an idea... The first pic is taken out of a family's living room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hope this does the kibbutz some justice. My heart goes out to the community's members. Thank you for caring about them, Nonnie! I hope you're well, and taking care of yourself! Sending you lots and lots of love. xoxox

so fun fact, i'm playing the aa trilogy with a friend right now, and apollo justice with another friend. and second fun fact, i love voice acting. anyway here's a fun little breakdown of ten of my favorite voices to do, in no particular order!
1. cody hackins
i've been told i do a very good young-boy-in-anime voice. it's just very fun! originally he was very back-of-throat and kinda fucked up my voice to do, so i moved it forward more to not kill myself. it sounds virtually the same!
2. dee vasquez
i love the badass, cold woman archetype for voices. i gave dee a lower, vaguely gothic, vaguely transatlantic voice. she's one of those characters who changes tone as she gets mad and lets her demeanor slip, so that was interesting! typically i had her speak slowly and quietly, so when she's worked up, she gets faster and louder, and goes from that low-throat crooning to a more full voice.
3. alita tiala
i made alita vaguely russian, for some reason, but i went with it, because i fucking love accents. this fact will become clearer as this ranking continues. anyway, alita is another character who talks differently as her facade slips. initially, she has a timid, hesitant voice, with a very faint accent. when she gets angry, her voice becomes more stern and confident, and her accent comes out more!
4. lotta hart
accents, man. lotta's especially fun because you can just go fucking crazy with her, there's no restraint on her accent she's so extremely southern. her voice's pitch is pretty regular, so if i were to ever voice nicole, i'd probably give her a slightly higher voice for contrast - and because nicole has a sweeter personality, while lotta is more rough-around-the-edges.
5. olga orly
again: accents!! i literally didn't think i knew how to do a russian accent before her, but then i jumped into it and found out i do, somehow?? anyway, olga's fun because she has two completely different voices. her fake identity is higher pitched and timid, and thickly accented. her regular voice is just a bit higher-toned than my regular speaking voice, and she talks in a much faster and rougher way.
6. truly wright
truly just has a higher, cute voice, and that's fun! hers isn't complicated to do, either; i just pitch up. it's good that she's easy and fun, considering she's around all the time. maya is harder, mostly because she's a delicate balance - i don't want to give her a voice as high as trucy's, but i don't want to give her a voice as low as the one i do for ema. speaking of which...
7. ema skye
i haven't gotten to ema's case in the trilogy yet, but most likely, her voice will be a smidge pitched up from my regular talking voice. as for apollo justice ema, i gave her a lower-toned voice - similar to my own talking voice, maybe a bit lower. this is a nod to not only the fact that she's far more cynical than when she was younger, but also the fact that she can do a CONVINCING impression of kristoph gavin, so her voice must be in the lower range. i think about that a lot. aa4 ema also has a tone to her voice like she's not trying to put up any niceties - she just says what's on her mind. in that sense, she's a bit monotonous - but VERY emotive when she talks about science.
8. miles edgeworth
proZD has a video where he describes the voices he does for every ace attorney character, and he describes edgeworth as "not british, but he wishes he was". this is something i have in mind whenever i voice him. i'm not great with guy voices, since i can't go that low, so i focus on things like intonation and accents. edgeworth doesn't have an accent, per se, but he has one of those vague ways of speaking that i can only really describe as "fancy accent".
9. will powers
i like will's voice because i gave him a pretty unique way of talking as compared to everyone else. i'm self-taught, so i don't really know a lot of vocal terms, so bear with me while i explain this as best i can. will's voice comes from sort of closing my throat, and talking from the bottom half of my mouth. it creates this gentle, shyer, and nasal voice. and speaking of nasal...
10. wendy oldbag
now, i wouldn't say i'm GOOD at oldbag's voice, i could use some practice, but it's fun as fuck to do. it's EXTREMELY nasal, it sits right behind my nose. i find myself scrunching up my face whenever i have to voice her! and as a fun little detail, she's one of those people who pronounces the h first in words like what, why, and of course whippersnapper ;]
bonus: the judge
i don't get to voice the judge a lot, since he's one the three characters my friend has claimed, lol. however, this is my apollo justice friend, so they're not always there for me and my other friend playing the trilogy. my friend does a judge voice that i can only describe as slightly more civilized goofy from nicky mouse. now, i can't recreate perfection, so i went in a completely different direction with my judge's voice. i leaned more towards his anime voice - slightly husky, but not to the extent it is in the anime.

Baby Names
Names the Brothers would pick for their children.
Lucifer:
Girl- Aurora. Lucifer is the Morning Star. And so it makes sense he’d name his daughter after the sunrise. For Aurora’s meaning is dawn. And she’d be the light of his life
Boy- Akmal. It means perfect. And to him, your child would be absolutely perfect and whole and without harm as he’d slaughter anyone who’d dare make them cry.
Gender Neutral- Nuris. It means my bright and my consuming fire. Lucifer would be so overjoyed to be a father (again) that his child would consume his world.
------------------------------------------------
Mammon:
Girl- Soneeya. It means Golden and Beloved. You know Mammon’s treasures would be his kids and his naming will reflect his love for them.
Boy- Eas. It means Gold. His treasure. His most loved thing aside from his family.
Gender Neutral- Deor. Meaning Beloved Baby and Golden one. Mammon’s naming scheme is pretty simple, but each name is picked with care for his treasured children.
------------------------------------------------
Leviathan:
Girl- Henrietta. The female form of Henry. He’d want his daughter to be his friend too. He hopes.
Boy- Rurik. It’s the name of a noble. But it’s also the closest male name to Ruri. He had hoped no one would notice. But it was too obvious.
Gender Neutral- Orly. It means My Joy and My Happiness. Leviathan suffers from depression and doubting himself. To see his child would mean he was loved and would bring him joy at sight of them.
------------------------------------------------
Satan:
Girl- Irene. It means Peace and Tranquility. It’s also a name from Sherlock Holmes. He also loves the irony of the name given what he is the Avatar of.
Boy- Ranpo. It’s the name of a famous detective author who influenced a lot of detective media in Japan.
Gender Neutral- Braelin. It means a Person Who is Intelligent And Wise. Those traits are important to Satan and he’d want his child to value them as well.
------------------------------------------------
Asmodeus:
Girl- Belle. It means beauty. I mean. She’s HIS daughter. She’s not only the most beautiful girl, she is the BELLE of the BALL! He demands it.
Boy- Beau. It means beauty. I mean. He’s HIS son. He’s going to be the second most handsome demon in all of the Devildom and his name WILL reflect that!
Gender Neutral- Bijou. It means Jewel. And just like their father, they WILL be a Jewel to the three realms!
  ------------------------------------------------
Beelzebub:
Girl- Lily. It’s close to Lilith. He didn’t want to name her Lilith directly. He doesn’t want his daughter in his sister’s shadow. But he wants to honor her memory and show love.
Boy- Beli. It’s close to ‘Belphie’ and he wanted to honor his brother without using the same name. Belphie ugly cried at being told the reason for the name.
Gender Neutral- Bailey. It’s the same reason he chose Beli. Beel loves his family and his twin especially. It sounds close without being exact.
 ------------------------------------------------
Belphegor:
Girl- Lilli. It’s close to Lilith and he wanted to honor his sister that he misses so much. He cried when you agreed on the name. It also means ‘of the night’ so she is his star as well.
Boy- Lelli. It’s picked for the same reason as a girl’s name. His sister is missed so dearly. It also means ‘a person born after the sun sets’. He would pick another name if there’s a boy and a girl. But this is his first choice.
Gender Neutral- Stellar. It means ‘One Who Shines Brightly Like The Star’. And for one that loves looking at the stars, this name is something he treasures.

As You Were Saying?
AN: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! I think this is the most fun I’ve had with a Squealing Santa fic! @wordstrings this one’s for you! Fjord & Jester are a kilLER tag team (see what I did there?) A huge thanks to @hypahticklish for hosting this year! I hope you all enjoy Kingsley getting wrecked, I know I do.  @squealing-santa
Fjord would never say it out loud, but Kingsley was getting on his last damn nerve. Ever since setting out to sea, their new friend formerly known as Mollymauk was practically glued to his side any given minute of the day. At first Fjord welcomed the company, was even flattered by it. But it seemed every time he tried to have an important conversation with someone other than the purple tiefling, he would interrupt or insert himself into the discussion. Fjord knew he was just trying to be helpful, but he needed to realize not every problem concerned him.
He had been discussing the trajectory of their current course with Orly when Kingsley walked up, absorbing every word exchanged. Fjord was already self conscious about his knowledge on the open seas, so he really didn't need an extra pair of ears listening to his stutter through and second guess himself. It eventually got so distracting, Fjord interrupted himself in the middle of a sentence.
"I'm sorry, but is there anything in particular you need?" he asked, cocking his head. He made sure to keep his tone light so Kingsley wouldn't think he was upset with him.
He hummed as he thought to himself for a moment, shaking his head. "No, but you looked like you could use the company," he quipped. Fjord had to chuckle at that, shaking his head out of fond annoyance.
"I appreciate the concern, but Orly and I can handle this." When Kingsley still lingered, Fjord took it as a sign that he needed a more direct hint. "Why don't you help Marius clan the canons? I'm sure he'd appreciate the company," he offered.
Kingsley let out an annoyed sigh and turned to leave. "Sure thing captain."
Fjord took a deep breath, rubbing at his temple. Orly watched the tiefling walk down the stair before looking back at Fjord.
"Don't worry Cap'n. Once he settles in he won't be this clingy," he spoke in his gruff, slow manner of speech that Fjord was accustomed to. His gaze was locked on Kingsley as he slipped through the door that lead below deck.
"I hope so."
Either Orly had been wrong, or Kingsley still wasn't fully settled. The thought upset Fjord; he tried to do everything he could to make him feel accepted and comfortable on the ship. He knew the other man appreciated his efforts, but he could tell something was missing. He couldn't imagine how he must feel, so he extended as much of his patience as possible.
Kingsley must have caught on, because he'd been testing said patience at any given opportunity. He especially loved interrupting any intimate moment between Fjord and Jester. Ever time, it seems, that the two of them were able to whisk themselves away, Kingsley would find them minutes later and wedge himself into the conversation. Jester was more than welcoming, but Fjord just wanted some alone time with his girlfriend.
They were in his quarters, laying on his bed facing each other. Even though they were alone, they spoke in hushed voices, all whispers and giggles like lovesick teens. They were huddled close to one another, Fjord's arm draped over her shoulder as she rested her head on his expansive chest.
She was in the middle of recounting her trip to shore, describing the mural she saw in vivid detail. "Oh, you should have seen it Fjord! Someone painted the cover of Tusk Love on the back of the book store, and it was stunning! Guinevere's dress was all ripped and flowing in the wind, and Oskar's muscles were huge! The attention to detail was, like, super good, I could literally see the sweat on his chest and everything," she gushed, appreciating both the artistry and her beloved characters.
Fjord smiled at her endearing enthusiasm, rubbing a hand up and down her arm comfortingly. "In that case I'm glad I stayed on the ship. But I'm glad you got to see it," he said softly. She grinned up at him, snuggling closer.
"Who know who Oskar really looks like?" she asked in a teasy voice. Fjord hummed in thought, scratching the stubble on his chin.
"I'm not really sure. Is it Veth?" he asked in mock ignorance. She giggled and shook her head.
"What? No!"
"Hm. Caleb then?"
She tossed her head back with a laugh, smacking his shoulder playfully. "Nooo, guess for real!"
"I'm just joking, I know it's me," he relented, pulling her close and burying his face in the crook of her neck. She squealed and laughed as he growled and planted sloppy kisses, slowly working his way up to her lips.
Neither of them really heard the quick knock on the door before it creaked open.
"Hey Captain, you care if I- oh. Am I interrupting something?" Kingsley asked from the doorway, a sly smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. Fjord was about to say that yes he was interrupting something very important, but Jester beat him to the punch.
"No not at all! Come in," she invited, waving him over. Fjord managed to contain his annoyed groan as Kingsley waltzed in like he owned the joint. He hopped up on the bed, wedging himself right between the two of them.
"Sooo what're we talking about?" he drawled, fangs peaking out from behind his grin.
"I thought you came in here to ask me something," Fjord interjected. Kingsley waved his hand in dismissal.
"Forgot what I was gonna say. Honestly, I just want the company."
"Aw Kingsley, that's so sweet of you!" Jester cooed, scooting over to make room for him on the bed. Kingsley wedged himself between the two of them, wiggling around until he was comfortable.
"I know, I'm just the sweetest," he agreed with a smirk. "So, how was town?" he asked, resting his hands behind his head to cushion his neck.
"It was so much fun, you really need to come with me next time!"
"Oh yeah? Tell me about it," he said and Jester launched into her rambling from the top. Fjord had heard this already, so he focused more on Jester's excitement and wild gestures rather than what she was actually saying. As endearing as the sight was, Fjord really had been looking forward to some alone time with Jester, and their friend needed to learn a thing or two about boundaries.
Fjord remembered what he used to do when Molly wouldn't stop pestering him when they had to room together, and he had a hunch the same method of punishment would work now.
His hand inched closer and closer until he reached the soft curve of Kingsley's waist, scratching blunt nails against the fabric of his shirt. He jerked under the touch and sucked in a breath through clenched teeth. He cast a nervous look at Fjord, and the sly smirk on his face proved his eminent doom.
"Are you okay?" Jester asked, brows furrowed in concern.
"He's fine, just getting comfortable. Go on," Fjord answered on Kingsley's behalf. Jester eyed them both skeptically before continuing. Fjord applied more pressure, wiggling his fingers just under his ribcage. Kingsley snorted and twisted away from his hand with a stifled laugh.
"Jester's trying to tell you about her day and you're not even listening," he teased, pinching up and down his ribcage. "Pretty rude, don't you think?" he asked in a teasing tone.
"Ihi'm listening," Kingsley insisted, scooting closer to Jester in an attempt to get away. She seemed to catch on to what was happening, her mischievous grin only growing.
"Okay good, 'cause I'll quiz you afterwards," she said, poking his stomach before jumping back into her story.
"So like I was saying, there was this really rude lady at the market who was chewing out this little kid for stepping on her skirt-"
As she was busy talking, Fjord resumed his slow torture. He slipped his hand beneath Kingsley's shirt to get at bare skin and he immediately burst into giggles. Fjord gave a mock gasp at the outburst.
"Kingsley, I can't believe you! You think yelling at poor innocent children is funny?" he asked, pinching up and down his ribs. The tiefling curled in on himself, hiding his face in Jester's pillow as he shook his head. She couldn't help but chuckle at the sight and play along.
"That's not very nice you know," she teased, leaning down to speak directly in his ear.
"And here I thought he was good with kids," Fjord said, his hand climbing higher and higher until he reached his armpit. Kingsley let out a giggly yelp and clamped his arms against his sides.
"I know, right? He's so good with Luke, but maybe it's all an act," she taunted, slipping a hand underneath his arm and copying Fjord.
"Nohoho it's nohot!" Kingsley managed to insist through his laughter. His tail wagged about as he thrashed on the bed, trapped between the devious couple.
"Anyway, I followed her around the market until she went inside of this shady store. She like, looked around to make sure no one was watching but she didn't see me, don't worry," she waved a hand flippantly, ignoring his growing hysterics. "But you guys aren't going to be-lieve what kind of store it was."
"What kind?" Fjord asked as he traced circles on the delicate skin.
"I want Kingsley to guess," she chirped, raking her manicured nails all the way down his ribs. His entire body spasmed from the conflicting touches and his laughter rose in pitch.
"W-whahahat?"
Jester's tongue peaked out from behind her teeth as she grinned, shaking her head. "Nu uh, I want a real guess," she said, using her tail to swipe along the soles of his feet.
"Ohoho fuck mehehe," he whined, though he didn't sound too upset about his predicament. "Ihihi dohohon't knohohow!"
"It was a sex shop you guys! I was so shocked, I couldn't stop laughing! But I grabbed this huge wooden dick and slipped it into her pocket to make it look like she was trying to steal it. He caught her with it and she was so embarrassed!"
Fjord used the comedic moment in her story as en excuse to double his efforts, drilling his thumbs in the divots of his hips. Kingsley bucked like a bull, cackling loud and free.
"Kingsley would you mind keeping it down? I'm trying to listen," Fjord said, as if he wasn't the very cause of his hysterics. He folded in on himself, latching onto his wrists, but not bothering to push them away.
"Nohoho you aharen't! You're tohohorturing mehe!" he cried.
"Me? Torturing you? Pft, as if," Fjord teased, forming a claw with his hand and hovering it above his stomach. Kingsley yelped and sucked in his stomach, nervous giggles bubbling up his throat.
"He would never do such a thing," Jester insisted, scribbling her fingers against his neck. He squealed in surprise, scrunching his neck for protection. "I think you're just trying to get out of listening to my story," she fake pouted.
"Then act like it," she teased, grabbing his tail and scratching just under the spaded tip. Kingsley was sent into a new wave of hysteria, writhing on the bed as bright laughter flowed freely from his mouth. Fjord decided that would be the perfect time to launch his own attack, vibrating his hand into the soft muscle of his belly.
Jester carried on the conversation as if it were entirely normal to tear him apart by the seams. And there was something about it that seemed so normal, so natural for the three of them. Kingsley liked to think it was a part of Molly shining through.
"After that I stopped by to see Mama, and Nugget is huge now! He's literally half my size! He comes up to my waist, right here," she demonstrated by squeezing Kingsley's sides. He threw his head back as his laughter rang throughout the small cabin.
"Wow, he's already that tall? I remember when I could hold him in one arm. Not that he'd stay there for very long," Fjord said casually, reaching down to squeeze his knee. He jerked his leg away, kicking in a futile attempt at warding his friends off.
The fact that they were shredding the last pieces of his sanity so casually drove him insane. How could they be tickling him half to death and ignoring him at the same time? It made his nerves short circuit even more than they already were.
"Plehehease!" he pleaded, gripping Fjord's shirt tightly. He smirked and patted the back of his hand.
"Please continue? I agree, do go on Jester," he said, a smug smirk plastered on his face.
"Nohoho!" Kingsley whined through an endless stream of giggles. "Hahave mehehercy!"
"Oh but this is what you wanted though, isn't it? Both of our undivided attention, including you in our conversations, is it more than you bargained for?" he asked in a taunting voice.
"Yehehes, Ihihi'm sohohorry!"
"Oh Kingsley, there's no need to apologize. We're actually having a lot of fun right now, aren't we Fjord?"
"I for one at having a blast! Aren't you?" he asked, tweaking his hips.
"Ohohokahahay I get ihihit!" he cried out, and they finally took pity on him. He laid there, chest heaving as he regained his breath. "You guys are fuckin' ruthless." They answered in unison.
"Thanks!"
"And don't you forget it."
Kingsley chuckled, rubbing a hand over his blushing face. "Guess I have been kinda clingy these past few days..."
Fjord made a strangled squeaking noise, shifting his hand back and forth in an "eh" sort of motion. "Just a little. We really do enjoy your company, but we also enjoy our privacy."
"And the rest of the crew is really nice, even if they aren't as fun and cool as us," Jester added.
"I know, but I guess I just have my favorites. But I think it's safe to say I learned my lesson," Kingsley said, nodding slightly. Fjord snorted.
"I bet that in 2 weeks you'll need a refresher course," he teased, shooting him a wink. Despite his growing blush, he was quick to shoot back with a smart retort.
"I won't be such an easy catch next time."
"Ah, so there will be a next time."
Kingsley opened his mouth to argue, but promptly shut his mouth upon seeing the matching set of evil grins.
"Shut up," he snapped, shoving Fjord away from him playfully. He crawled off the bed, walking to the door. He turned to them with a bow, "Your privacy," he announced before slipping out of the room. Fjord and Jester stared at each other before a fit of giggles overtook them.

Hi, if you want it would be really fun to have a little post about the Young Justice 2 OCs and who they all are because I am having so much fun with these posts and want to know all the kiddos
💕💕💕💕
Ooooh I was waiting for an excuse to say everything all at once
so my idea started with Tim’s set of kids, a trio of which is made up of Jasper (Kookaburra), Diallo (Pitohui) and Kioni (Turaco). Jasper and Diallo will get their moment later but rn we’re starting with Kioni.
Kioni is from Kenya, but her parents moved to Gotham when she was very young so she doesn’t have many memories of her extended family there. Unfortunately, while her parents were trying to move into their new apartment, they were gunned down in the crossfires of a gang dispute. Being new to the area no one knew them yet and no one knew to look for Kioni, so she fell through the cracks and grew up on the streets of Gotham. She was looked after primarily by the owner of a small family restaurant, who would give her and some other street kids food that would otherwise be thrown away
Kioni met Tim while he was investigating a case when she was eleven, and Tim quickly caught on to the fact that she had no one looking after her. At this point he was already three kids in (Jasper, Veda, and Diallo) so he was just like “what’s one more” and adopted her. She became Turaco. A couple of years later, when she’s thirteen, she meets Mi-Sun and Vivian, and together they decide to found the second iteration of Young Justice.
Mi-Sun’s origin I’ve already covered in another post but I’ll put an abridged version here. She was a regular orphan (in an orphanage) until a school trip to lex corp unfortunately coincided with an alien attack and she was pierced through the chest and heart by shards of platinum kryptonite. Though she didn’t realise the full effects right away, the platinum kryptonite gave her all of the powers (and weaknesses) of a regular Kryptonian. Lex Luthor realised this ans tried to capture her, but with help from Kon and other superfam members, she was able to stay free.
Kon decided with her that he should formally adopt her, and at fourteen she became Sunbeam, and met Kioni and Vivian not long afterwards.
Vivian doesn’t remember her old life. She used to be able to remember bits and pieces about it when she first arrived in this dimension, but it seems that her memory was the price to pay for a speed force connection. Irey and Jai accidentally pulled her through reality, and now she’s here. She kind of wishes she felt more strongly about it, but it’s difficult to miss something you have no memory of. Bart was supposed to be keeping an eye on irey and jai, so Wally gave him responsibility over Vivian as penance, but honestly they’re just vibing. Literally. Sometimes they’ll just be in a room vibrating in harmony.
Vivian is about thirteen or fourteen years old. She became Vivace (musical term for lively - though she can’t remember anything, she’s sure she loved music) and it wasn’t long before she (literally) ran into Kioni and Mi-Sun
that’s the founding trio! Of course, they’re not the only members. I’m going to add them in reblogs, but here’s a list of them:
Jasper - Kookaburra
Diallo - Pitohui
Orlie - Petrel
Jinj’r - Cinderspark
Lillia - Wonder Girl
Freia - Bullseye

Are there any songs you associate with Orly?
Omg I have a gay pining playlist I listen to when I draw and absolutely
-Line without a Hook by Ricky Montgomery
Iggy feels really bad when he remembers all the things he overlooked when they were younger in regards to Genzou’s bullying, felt really dumb about being oblivious to what happened at the after prom when he found Orlam crying at the bus stop, to then realizing what he was doing too late because of his avoidance of his friends. then having to reconcile the Orlam he found in Our Wonderland with what he knew of him because the OW version was the worst version of Orlam born from a culmination of the things that he went through that no one picked up on or cared enough about him to care.
This goes especially hard when Orlam cuts out his own heart to stop feeling or caring and asks everyone what they hated about him which “Was it something I said to make you feel like you’re a burden?” REALLY hits me because he’s not sure how much his inaction really hurt him. And aughfhfhfh ANGST MMMMMM I hate myself but I love making them sad.
-Your Stupid Face by Kayden MacKay
Orlam has a one sided hatred of Iggy at first where he hated that Genzou always put him second to Iggy and then he realizes that Iggy never disliked him. Every lifetime, his feelings about Iggy changes little by little to where he realized that he does in fact, love him. Even after all the things he did in the Wonderland and all the times that Orlam caused his death, Iggy was still willing to be with him afterwards because he loved him and so what if Orlam did a little cannibalism, they did it together and Orlam just doesn’t understand why he just forgave him so easily. (It’s because he loves you idiot)
The Red Means I Love You - Madds Buckley
Orlam and Iggy kill for each other, it’s simple really. Orlam is just a little bit crazy in OW but they’re crazy together and that’s all that matters.
- The Moon Will Sing by the Crane Wives
Okay this isn’t an orly song but I makes me think about the dynamic between Orlam and Genzou where Orlam is singing about what could’ve been with Genzou and he realized that it wasn’t a great relationship but he enjoyed it when the sun shone his light on him and how he felt lost when the light left him.
Here’s the playlist for anyone interested, warning NSFW songs

Alright, I have now officially seen Critical Role campaign 2, had some time to watch the campaign wrap up and just generally put thoughts in a row.
Some of said thoughts, in no particular order:
I appreciate how, like, 90% of the muscle mass of the group is firmly on the lady-side of the party. Personally quite happy about that.
I don't think I ever really got over the character death, but I do appreciate the narrative weight of it and I have a huge soft spot for the character we got out of it so. Man, the story would have been so different, huh?
I hadn't thought one could steal a ship by accident but
Lots of eyeballs in this campaign.
The entire Happy Fun Ball thing.
Jester having the Sending spell was amazing.
Speaking of Jester, I lost my shit with the blueberry cupcake. You know the one.
Personally very pleased by getting to know characters of races that usually get portrayed as evil by default as people, as this has been one of my pet peeves in fantasy genre for decades.
Love the character designs of some of the NPCs. Special shoutout to Orly and the moorbounder salesman.
I really, really enjoyed watching Caduceus interact with his family. That was all very authentic sibling relationship shenanigans, and I love it so much.
Also the dinner scene.
Really, I have only experienced three of Taliesin's characters so far (Mollymauk, Caduceus and Ashton), but I got to say I really appreciate how he does characters. Very aesthetic.
(the reunion two parter is going to be interesting)
The Travelercon. Just... the Travelercon
I still think Yasha "negative 2 charisma modifier" Nydoorin attempting to flirt was the funniest thing ever, in a sweet way.
This was overall gayer than I expected. I'm used to keeping my expectations low to non existent, so I was quite happy to be surprised. Cozy.
Speaking of, I now understand why I keep seeing so much fan art of the sad trash wizard with a drow.
The M9 took one look at Essek and decided to adopt him
I think Caleb's character arc is the one that left me the most impressed, but they all got their chances to shine. I am weirdly proud of all of these make believe people.
Honestly, looking back, they really did get far during the course of the game. What started as a mistrusting bunch of colourful assholes grew into a tight knit and surprisingly functional found family. Specially that last battle of the series, it was efficient and had so many character points in it.
I think my favourite parts were all the heart to heart conversations between the characters sprinkled throughout the series.
Fun little extra, my local library has a copy of the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, the DnD sourcebook for the setting/continent this campaign takes place in, and I've borrowed it couple times during my watch through. It's been special bit of extra fun to whip out the giant map that comes with the book and follow the party's travels on it while watching the game sessions.
(I may or may not have bought myself the Beauregard sleeveless hoodie thing with my last month's fun money. It is soft and comfy and it has pockets.)
And so many other thoughts, but that was literally 141 episodes with the combined runtime of over five and half hundred hours. Took me about a year or so, though 3/4 of the campaign was marathoned within the last three-ish months because of not having social life.
I think I want to give a bit of a rewatch to the first episode or few, now that I've seen the whole story. Refresh how it all started.

C3E45 reaction
No comments in regards to the dnd drama at large.  I have mixed thoughts, mixed thoughts in regards to CR’s statement, and just everything.
How was this episode only three and half hours, I feel like we got so MUCH!!
I have speculation - the first of which is I wonder if Sam out of game spoke to the group between last session and this and said that he really wanted FCG to have a chance to meet with the professor.  It’s quite possible that this was just the roleplay, but it did change between last episode seeming like they clearly were not stopping for it, with the change to definitely stopping for it this time.  Possibly same with Laura re: Imogen and Kadijah Sumal - but that one feels more like just roleplay initiative as I know Laura’s aware of the time she’s had in the spotlight and I can’t see her pushing for another section while she’s still in the thick of it.
The second speculation is I’m 95% sure that Matt ran a one on one for Taliesin, at least on some level.  Maybe not a full session, but there had to have been some back and forth and rolls involved in that.  It SOUNDS like how a fast paced one on one could go, but it also sounds like a combination of Taliesin and Matt’s ideas, so I’m not 100% sure.
Speaking of: Ashton’s absence.  I’m really glad that it got brought into the narrative the way that it did, it gave Taliesin some information that the party didn’t have (or at least tied him into aspects of it) allowing him to feel like he was being helpful even if Ashton was absent.   Also, Taliesin’s masterful having Ashton approach in disguise, pulling one on the players instead of the PCs.  I’m not sure how much they bought into it, but it seemed like at least a few of them were seriously wondering if he brought a new PC.
Not too much new for FCG but a nice confirmation of what they already knew, plus the addition that their model was designed for caring and guiding.  Love how Sam is playing into the indecision and the fear/stress that FCG has about having to determine their own path rather than just having it stated for them.  Matt’s NPC?  AMAZING.  GLORIOUS.  I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT.  Don’t remember the name at all, Indvol?  WHO KNOWS.  I hope he’s a reoccurring NPC though.  In my mind, THIS is the Victor/Zorth/Orly of C3.  This is the first time the voice has cut through so much of the table!
Also - easy bake oven.  what the fuck sam, also this is amazing, but also what the fuck.
AND THEN FUCKING LUDINUS DA’LETH WITH IMOGEN AND FEARNE OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK
One - Khadijah Sumal = fantastic, love her.  The quiet paranoia played perfectly, but sadly not paying off.  Ludinus coming in is one of the events which I wonder if Matt had on a timeline.  If the party hadn’t stopped by Khadijah’s today, would Ludinus still have gotten the papers now and hit her with the spell?  I suspect so, this seems like a somewhat fixed timeline - whenever the party got to Yios, that’s when Ludinus would be there, if they interacted with Khadijah or not.
I don’t remember Ludinus too much from C2, but I vaguely remember him being more genial?  Maybe that was just because he was in the Empire at the time, and was dealing with Cobalt!Beau and Empire!Caleb (and CharmingConfusingPutsYouOffBalance!Jester).  I’m only starting e66 on my rewatch, so I feel like I’ve got a decent bit of episodes before they have their next/first real interaction with Ludinus.
FEYWILD FEYWILD YES YES YES YES
Possible controversial comment!  My C2 rewatch has only shown to me how much more alive the locations and settings for C2 felt versus the ones for C3 (for me).  They felt much more varied and rich and lived in, whereas I’ve struggled with the feeling of that for C3.  I think the Heartmore Hamlet felt fleshed out, as well as Bassuras, but a lot of the more landscapy areas (the journey to and from the Heartmore, the travel over the Wilds in the airship) have felt more generic or rushed, like this campaign is much less about travel and exploration than C2 and a lot more of Big Storyline.  But the Feywild completely felt alive and living and rich and detailed.  I have two theories as to why.  One - Matt not only gave a description of the area, but immediately had the opportunity to have a location interaction with the players (the flowers and the trees).  I’m finding that similar to some of the C2 descriptions, where the locations will be described and then a much smaller tighter aspect will be interacted with.  That’s both on Matt and on the players, if that’s what’s causing it.  The other theory (and this is super controversial I know) is that I know Matt has had several co-creators for Marquet, and likely several cultural consultants.  I wonder if this means that when he is describing a location, he feels more pressured to really describe how it is on the sheet (so opening with a very long detailed description that while fun ends up getting lost quickly) and maybe a bit more reluctant to improv areas or descriptions of it.
NANA MORRI.  I love her and watching Ashley be so thoroughly delighted by every aspect of the Feywild and her home and her grandmother is the BEST.  Not a hag though!  Or at least not one that I’m familiar with!

I have been drastically reading your posts wrong. When I saw Olly I thought it was Orly and I've been trying to put two and two in my head and wasn't getting four. I was really trying to figure out what scenes I missed where Orly hung out with someone named Gus. Nevermind the female pronouns I thought you were using for Orly.
Anon, I love you so much. I am so sorry I confused you, but this is hilarious and delightful of you.

My opinion on each kotlc book.
These are my personal opinions on each book so yeah if you dont agree cool I really don't care. I'm working on rereading the series so i show a better opinion on the books i havent read for awhile. Tw: Spoilers.
•Book one- Kotlc
Its good it's the most page time Dex has, but couldn't the black swan leave a note or something being like hey we're not the bad guys. Also why did forkle leave Sophie and Dex alone with no way to get back to the Lost Cities. I feel bad for sophie too because in this book fitz comes in and is like "Yeahhh.... so your an elf and can't live with humans. Oh also you know all the stuff the humans taught you... yeah it's wrong."
•Book 2- Exile
Again another good one except dex doesn't have nearly enough page time. Silveny is the best animal in the series I also think this is the first book that Iggy gets a makeover. Also Keefe getting more page time I love, the sokeefe moments. And of course the neverseen makes an appearance. And Sophie almost being killed by limbium. And brant being a psycho. And Sophie seeing her wanderling.
•Book 3- Everblaze
The saddest so far with the best councilor being killed. But he was trying to protect Sophie and Alden and fitz. Oh yeah and Alden's mind being broken and fitz being a bitch and lashing out at everyone. Rip Kenric
•Book 4- Neverseen
This book contains a bunch of sofitz. This when I was battling shipping sokeefe and sofitz which lasted until book 8. Loved calla and rip her
•Book 5- Lodestar
Took me the longest because of Keefe joining the neverseen. Poor Sophie. And Keefe being dumb was mainly in this.
•Book 6- nightfall
YAY SOPHIES PARENTS ARE ALIVE. This is the most page time Amy's gotten. It's not bad but yeah.
Book 7- flashback
Sofitz gets together kinda annoying but I had hight expectations for this ship but it kinda sunk quickly. They about kiss then sliveny goes into labor (Ty silveny for breaking that kiss before it could happen) The vackers get exposed. And Sophie and fitz get stuck in the healing center for a month and sokeefe moments are the best. BUT SOPHIE BEING UNMATCHABLE
Book 8- legacy
This is my favorite book so far (Tho 8.5 is close) SOFITZ BREAKS UP. Poor Sophie having to deal with Fitz temper. Glad they did. Sofitz was doomed from the start. And poor Keefe omg I shed the most tears over this book. And poor Keefe and his toxic mom being the mf she is. But the sokeefe is cute. Even though Sophie is unmatchable FITZ WASNT THERE he offered to help her find her parents. Also I'm not that surprised that orlie isn't Sophie's mom. I've suspected for awhile.
Book 8.5- Unlocked
I like the background we get for the characters. Keefes stuff is the best. It's also the most page time Dex has gotten in while. I like how in novella we get Sophie and keefes perspective. It made if more enjoyable. Keefes file is just hilarious. The art was gorgeous and I loved how some ot the pages looked like actual writing.
Book 9- Stellarlune
Alright this book was good arguable better then 8.5 and 8. I loved the kiss in chapter 42 and jealous fitz was great. I didn't like everyone's attitude at all. (I wrote an entire post on that) but ro got a bunch of page time and so did dex so that was great. Kenric gets the most page time he's had ever. (Not him being mentioned) and same with Oralie. I don't understand why Sophie hates her so much she does have some valid points but not many. I had such expectations for the kiss and it met them perfectly. Overall fitz handled things pretty well so yeah. Keefe and Sophie flirting yes please. OMFG THE CLIFFHANGER. I can't wait to see what happens 10.

℧ with the first person who pops into your head from the edge chronicles!!
℧: a damp towel against flushed, feverish skin
"Honestly, Quint, where did your father find this disease?"
"I don't know," Quint said, "but when we came back from the Deepwoods—"
"Ah, the Deepwoods, that'll be it."
"But I didn't say—"
"The Deepwoods hold all sorts of dangers ... including those I've never heard of," Linius sighed. "Someday, someone ought to teach your father a lesson about responsibility and risk-taking."
"He looks after me," Quint said.
"Oh, I know, but he's far too reckless with his own health." He turned to Quint. "Why don't you go downstairs? Tweezel has some sky crystals you might like to see. I'll look after your father, and you can go and relax, and ... do whatever it is boys your age like to do."
"Okay," Quint said, but he side-eyed his father as he left. Linius couldn't blame him; he was just as cagey around Maris. It was the curse of losing everyone you loved bar one soul—it birthed a probably unhealthy attachment, a unique paranoia. "Now," he said, "let's see what we can do about that fever of yours, Orlis."
He soaked a towel in some cool water, and pressed it to Wind Jackal's head; the man stirred a little, shaking his head weakly.
"Not ... not ill," he mumbled, trying and failing to evade Linius's touch. "Nothing ... nothing's wrong."
Linius laughed. "I don't believe that for a moment, old friend."
"Linius?" Wind Jackal bolted upright. "When did I get to Sanctaphrax? Where's Quint? What in Sky's name—"
"One question at a time, Wind Jackal!" he chuckled. "According to your son, you instructed your crew to fly you here. They're waiting for you below, in Undertown; they have good charge of the Galerider. As for Quint himself, he's a floor below us. There's nothing to worry about, I promise."
"But I—" He frowned. "When did I undress?"
"You didn't. I took the liberty of doing that for you," Linius informed him. "You've been unconscious for quite a while, I'm told, but you have only been here for half an hour. Now, I suggest you have a drink, or else the next question out of your mouth will be what is up and what is down."
"Well, I—alright."
"You really must take better care of yourself," Linius sighed. "How long have you had this fever?"
"It took two days to reach Undertown ... so perhaps three days overall."
"Wind Jackal!"
"Look, I had to make sure Quint and my crew were safe ... we only came close to crashing twice."
Linius shook his head. "And I thought I overworked myself."
"You do, Linius; I can see those sleepless nights under your eyes."
"So do you, old friend," he sighed. "So do you."
"We never learn, do we?"
"No," he said. "And someday, I fear the consequences of our actions may catch up with us."
"Don't say that," Wind Jackal muttered, pinching his forehead. "My head aches far too much for that."
"Perhaps some sleep is in order?"
"If you insist," he grumbled, begrudgingly lying back down.
"I do," Linius said. "Sleep well, my friend."
"Who says I'll fall asleep?"
"I think you rather will," Linius replied.
Wind Jackal took his turn to laugh. "Ah, you know me too well."
"Don't we both?"
"Yes ... I think so." Then he said: "Goodnight."
"It's the middle of the day," Linius corrected, "but goodnight, Orlis."
And Wind Jackal was so out of it, he only mumbled out a complaint about the use of his name.
Poor bastard. He really needed to take better care of himself.
