I am all about constructive criticism. I mean, how am I supposed to get better at writing/drawing if people won't be honest with me and give me tips to get better. I personally think that people who can't take constructive criticism aren't very bright. How are they supposed to get better at things if they don't listen to others who are just trying to guide them?
Also, I would love some more tips on how to make the shell better. If you are willing, of course. :)
I am horrible at drawing. I usually have to trace things to get a decent drawing. (For instance, I traced like five different things to make Mikey a pony.)
I'm so much better at coloring than I am at drawing. My writing needs work, too, but I'm getting better.
First of all, can I just say that you shouldnt worry about tracing art to improve your own (as long as u aren't posting it as soley your own but thats a whole other rabbit hole) I did too! It helps build ground work for a good understanding of anatomy and poses.
However there are a few holes in tracing. Forst of all it is quite limiting in the outcome of your work, as your art is stuck static in one pose. this can alkost hinder your ability to see things in '3D' and visualise objects for multiple angles. it can also lead to 'skin wrapping' , which i think is the hole you fell into here (and also a term i just made up now)

with the shell, you only coloured it within Mikey's trace lines - this caused the shell to loose a lot of its mass - making it look, quite frankly, not like a shell.
a way to improve on this is to look at more references of Mikey's shell in the show and its shape from different angles. this can help you get a good idea of how it should look, and it is a good idea to practice drawing it from these angles. this will improve your ability to think in a 3D space, (which is so darn hard, but seriously useful)
however, and you may have noticed this yourself, when you add new additions to the figure, the line art just doesnt line up! the line quality is different!
This is because the line you have done for the addition is Your Line. And we love your line.
so lets make the rest of the traced lineart fit into your style, instead of you fitting yours into theirs okay?
You may notice that when you trace art, the line work is just not the same, the lines are shakier than the original and it just doesn't look as good. this is not a reflection of your skill.
It is because, usually, (at least when I did it) you follow the original line so closely that it turns out shaky, probably taking your pen off the page a few times to take a break from the oen stroke. while the original artist did that line in one sweeping stroke.
a way to fix this, and make the line arr cleaner and more you, is to instead use the drawing as a very close reference. for example:

instead of tracing the exact lines of the art, merely trace the general shapes of the art. not only then do you add your own flair and gesture to the drawing, you are then more free to add more shapes to this sketch.
You can still use the reference drawing as closly as you want, but try to focus less on getting the exact lines copied, and more on the general shape. you linework wont be perfect the first time, it might be really messy compared to your usual tracing, and thats fine! you should see some of my sketches before i refine them!
But these will be your lines, theyll be smoother and more gestural, and overtime you will get better control over your penstrokes doing this.
Okay I cant really think of anymore to add here, I hope this helps! i think this was just one big word vomit lol. Keep drawing!! cause no matter what you do, as long as you are actively drawing you are always improving! dont be afraid to push yourself out of you comfort zone! who cares if it doesnt turn out the way you wanted it to? Its your art, You Created That with your Own Hands, and I think that is amazing.

you're right, i'm working on adding more to my portfolio and i'll label them too
TLDR, the smaller the canvas size, the bigger the pixels will seem. this also means there's less room for detail

this icon of Cinnamon is (SMALL) 48x48. this is a good size for portraits and objects or items

this strawberry and paw button icon is (SMALL) 32x32. this size is best for items, obejcts, and simplified portraits. i choose the specifics of the canvas size based on what i'm tasked with making. if you choose "small" and pick character art, i will make it on a 48x48 canvas by default and you dont need to choose that. it's just a guide to tell you how small/big the pixels will look in the end

this posed art of @subjectseventeen is (MEDIUM) 96x80. this size is better for character art and anything else you can think of. just like the small sized canvas, i choose the specific canvas size based on what i'm making

this gif of dolli dimples & sally sashay is 280x220. i dont offer this size right now but it's to give you a better idea of what differently sized pixel art means - as you can see, much more detail can be fit into larger canvases. the big canvas is best for all things, especially things that require a lot of detail.
i dont currently offer this size because my commissions are already on the expensive end and the amount of time/detail that goes into these big canvases is just... Too Much !

more about pixel art/artistic process below if anyone's curious
pixel art is basically so small because the devices and games which use it have very small memories. this is why i start with as small of a canvas as possible and keep the canvas small (17's canvas is horizontal.) it also saves space if the art is transferred onto anything, such as turned into a sticker or badge, there's basically no border so it wont need to be cropped. the canvas sizes used are all multiples of 16 because that's traditionally how pixel art has been made - makes moving sprites much easier for computers to understand for the game i work on. it's also a good size to make repeating patterns with for tiles in games - and it's the sizing reference my background canvas uses so it's sort of like a ruler for spacing certain things

each grey square is 16 pixels, meaning 4 squares is 32 pixels and so on
this isnt why pixel art is called "8bit/16bit/32bit" though, THOSE numbers refer to how many colours were used in the game's entire palette to, again, reduce the memory it takes up as much as possible. modern pixel artists generally dont use these words because we dont usually work in hyper-limited palettes. we do still use limited palettes (for me, usually 1 base 2 shade 1 highlight per colour) and again it's to reduce memory size of the file and it helps with keeping your art consistent :0)
it kinda sucks how much visual math goes into making pixel art because im actually so. SO. bad at math .

Hand and Eye: Project Briefing and initial thoughts

Today we were briefed on our next project, which is narrative focused. These were the notes I took of things I need to take into consideration and the restrictions for this project. The biggest challenge is probably not being able to use text as I often like to use text when it comes to storytelling as writing fiction is a side hobby of mine. However that restriction will really help me focus on my visual storytelling which is a good side of it. The paper restrictions seem appropriate to keep the zine nice and short and not go too ambitious, which is something that I tend to do especially when it comes to storytelling, but this project is only around 3-4 weeks so that is not a lot of time. I will keep this fact in mind when it comes to creating the story and planning the actual final outcome in order to be realistic within the time constraints.
I am actually looking forward to using only 2-3 colours (as paper colour does not count) as this will allow me to explore adding depth to my drawings without the multiple shades that can be used when rendering. Also the limit in colour gives me the idea that it might work well in pattern making and that this is something I could potentially use in my storytelling, whether to add character or for the background.
For the firsts steps of this project we need to do a visual diary, where we draw from observation as well use our daily lives as inspiration for the story. This suits my time very well as I will be travelling this weekend to my home country Portugal, and so with sightseeing and a change of atmosphere I will have a lot of inspiration to draw from.
To get into the habit of drawing from life we had a series of exercises where we drew the same objects but with constraints, such as focusing on shape, then not lifting the pen up, then using different materials such as charcoal and tracing paper. We then made a mini publication from that, and mine came out a bit messy especially due to the charcoal getting everywhere. However some parts of it were quite interesting and gave me inspiration for the kind fo style I will use for sketching.

This was probably my favourite sketch that came out of the exercises. We could only use two colous, but by using hatching ajnd cross hatching I amnaged to add depth and lighting to something with only two colours. I also like this hand-drawn, sketchy style and will use it a lot.

This one we had to use charcoal. Similar to the one before I used hatching to create shadows ajnd depth, but the change of material made it look even more sketchy and the thick lines made it more somber. The choice of colour and line weight can really add to the mood which is something to consider throughout.

While I dont particularly like these, I did liek the way I managed to use blocking in the top drawing in order to add lighting even though I only could use one coloured medium. Blocking is also a simple but great way to add depth to a drawing that does not have many coulours.

In these I did not work a lot with shadows and depth, as I was more focused opn making it neat and delicate (we had to draw with the emotion of tenderness). This neatness and quiet allows for the object to speak for itself so if I am to use hatching and/or blocking I should also keep in mind that less is more sometimes.

i have like. aimlessly monologued so much abt dark souls just pacing around my apartment. its 5am and i just cant shut up about it. LIKE. i knooowww that people have been going on about it for like eleven years now and im sure none of these thoughts are original but i wanna ramble!!! ramblings under readmore!!!!
this game is good man, its so good. the tone and atmosphere most of all. i think cos its y’know its melancholic and quiet and lonely but it’s also so whimsical and funny and silly. i find a man in the sewers trapped in a pickling jar and roll into it to get him out. when i talk to him later i find that he’s this really genuine, kind-hearted guy. i roll into this fortress full of death traps and a snake man turns to look at me and then suddenly a boulder comes outta nowhere to run over him and it’s like i’m in a goddamn looney toon. the colour palettes of the environments is quite colourful actually, it’s within a certain range of tones but it’s not like it’s a depressing game to look at. it’s not that bleak. it’s not grimdark, it’s not edgy. it’s fun!
like, really. it’s such a fun game! i already knew i was gonna love the world of dark souls, the environments and the npcs, i just needed the gameplay to be something i can work with. and it is, and even more than that, it clicked with me. somehow i didn’t expect the combat in dark souls to be so fun, but like, that’s a big draw of the game. it’s very fun to fight in dark souls. there’s something to it that just feels really good. i think the enemy placement factors into the rhythm of combat quite a fair bit actually, and it’s typically well done. and i think another thing that’s great is how much control you have over the pace of combat. there’s a push and pull with the game as it throws challenges at you and tests your limits of course but you get to dictate quite a fair bit about the way you face these challenges.
something i enjoyed the most i think is like, not even within the game. so like after fighting the taurus demon and the gaping dragon for the first few times and dying, i ended my gaming session and like. couldnt stop thinking abt the fight and ended up thinking about what to do next time i fought them. which ik is nothing but i’m a really simple guy okay, i don’t strategise usually. but i wanted to beat them and move on to the next parts of the game, and so it made me think about the tools that were at my disposal that the game gave me and like - i think that’s great! successful game design bit. idk, it’s prolly not that big of a deal but it felt really good when i went back to the gaping dragon with A Plan, and executed on it flawlessly.
man.. ive just been having a lot of fun that i kinda didn’t ever expect to have. im feeling like i fell in love. like i thought it’d be impossible for me so i never played it but it turned out to be such an enjoyable experience so far. i dont even care if like…. i come across and bit thats too hard and i might give up forever i still had a lot of fun and it was worth it but i believe in myself man!!! i wanna finish this game forreal and that means a lot coming from a guy who like never finishes anything ever. ima just keep on trucking babey. if you die seven times and get up eight it’s not a matter of life and death its about your will and the barriers in front of you and whichever one will break first or uhhhh however that line from that vaatividya video goes. and like it’s not for everybody (there’s uhhh no map. i thankfully am good with creating mental maps but if you are not this game will be a much less fun time) but idk man……….ultimate game of all time is fuckin right actually…………. anyway………. im a changed man now……..gootbye……

home base customisation but the customisation choices you make actually. mean something. and do something. or at the very least give more companion dialogue/banter/approval change
laconic and ergonomic codexes. like. sorted by what kind of codex it is, etc etc but then you just get a brief summary of the codex and the option to read more about it so i dont spend eternity scrolling through cards looking for a specific codex entry. cool aesthetic dont get me wrong but real irritating to deal with. also. maybe. the pc making comments about the codex if you do read more about it? like a dalish elf saying “they got it all wrong” when reading a codex about dalish elves written by a human??? that would a) give character to the pc b) incentivise people to actually read the codex to see what was so wrong about it c) summarise the codex for people who want to learn the lore but dont want to spent the entire game reading text
maybe have the merchants in your home base close to crafting stations so you dont have to take a fucking hike if you miscounted the amount of elfroot you need?

a kind of gear skin mechanic similar to ac:odyssey where you can change how the gear looks but keep the stats. so you can equip that higher level armour and keep the look and aesthetic of your old armour and you unlock the skins/looks of the armours you discover/make so you can be both powerful AND aesthetic
i enjoyed the nobility/underworld/arcane/etc knowledge in dai unlocking more dialogue options so maybe keep/expand on that but make it more accessible by side missions or companions or something that isnt the abysmal perk system in dai

i really dig the whole “leader of an army” thing dai was trying to go for. but you didnt actually. lead. anything. would be nice to have that option. command soldiers. send them places that affect further quests. would even use the wartable for its intended purpose. planning wars. battles. like. you get sent word that there are bandits harassing villagers. you can set up an ambush with your soldiers or confront them headon, and theres a new mini-location on the map like the manor you meet vivienne in where you can go deal with the bandits and depending on your choices, there are actually soldiers with you in a field, or traps in a narrow pass, or even in a city. id rather the wartable shit dont return but if they have to, at least this way youre not just waiting real life time for a bunch of text to appear

Into i need help. I bought a oculus quest 2 right and i tried to connect it to my laptop and it wont work so I realized i needed and actual pc gaming setup you know, problem is idk anything about PCs and i dont wanna get scammed. well i'm not a professional at pcs by any means but i've always had a huge fixation on them so i can try to help as much as possible and i'll even try to put it in simple terms. fair warning, i talk A LOT in this post because i love rambling about computers :') i tried to use the simplest terms possible since you seem confused but if something doesn't make sense just ask and i can try to reword.
it all depends on what you want out of your pc. and do you want to build one or get a prebuilt one? if you want my advice i recommend building one. getting a prebuilt pc is the easiest way to get scammed because retailers tend to overcharge and they think they can get away with it because they stuck a flashy high end graphics card and colourful lights in it even though it has shit airflow and they cheaped out on the motherboard and power supply or something like that. if you're going to get a prebuilt pc make sure you look at allll the specs and consult some online reviews to see if they're any good, and figure out if you're going to be overcharged. now i'll talk about building one. a lot of this will still be useful if you're considering buying a prebuilt though.
the very first step is deciding your budget. idk where you are but in USD the typical amount to spend on pc parts is i think like $1000 - 1500 (you can spend less but that's if you don't have a lot of money to spend and are still desperate to have a gaming pc). i'm spending around $1700 CAD (before taxes, eugh) on mine bc i want to get into more demanding games eventually. it sounds very costly but computers like these can last you a decade and are very multifaceted. figuring out your budget first instead of going right ahead and buying stuff is important because each component should take up specific percentages of your budget. another important thing to consider when deciding your budget is if you want RGB (the colourful lights as previously mentioned), because components with that capability are slightly more expensive.
after deciding your budget, your first move is deciding what graphics card (GPU) you want. the GPU is responsible for processing and presenting the visuals on your screen. theoretically it should take up between 35 - 40% of your budget because it is the powerhouse in a gaming system. you have two developers to choose from here: NVIDIA or AMD. from what i've seen people tend to prefer NVIDIA but AMD cards aren't bad and they definitely compete in performance. i'll talk about nvidia though because that's what i know more about. by searching up the oculus quest 2 system requirements it tells me you at least need an nvidia geforce gtx 970. this card came out in 2014 and is by no means bad however it is actually the same base price as a lot of newer cards. if you want to go better than the minimum requirements, first consider what your monitor is capable of. if you don't have one yet, consider what you want it to do. monitors are not considered a part of the budget i keep mentioning by the way. idk how much this matters to you since we're talking about the oculus quest 2 but i'm just kind of assuming you're going to use this pc for other games too. the main two things to take into consideration are max resolution and refresh rate. my monitor has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a 144hz refresh rate. what the resolution means is that there are 2,073,600 pixels in the screen, and can go up to a resolution of 1080p in video games. the refresh rate means the monitor can refresh the picture on the screen 144 times a second, therefore can show a max of 144 frames per second in a video game. to put that in to perspective, most screens have a refresh rate of 60hz, such as regular laptop screens, iphone screens, etc.. monitors come in mainly 60hz, 75hz, 144hz, and 165hz, and for resolution they mainly come in 1080p, 1440p, and 4k. seeing as i don't have any plans on upgrading my monitor any time soon, dropping extra money on a GPU that can achieve more than 144fps and 1440p/4k would be pointless. but forget about the monitor, the oculus quest 2 has a max refresh rate of 120hz and its resolution lies somewhere between 1080p and 1440p. if you know what kind of games you're going to be playing, look up how they perform with different kinds of cards. i'm fairly certain anything above an nvidia geforce rtx 3070 would be pointless because of your display limits, and anything below the nvidia geforce gtx 970 simply won't be enough for the system. you can look at all the GPUs ranked here. after deciding which GPU you want you need to figure out which brand of it you want (NVIDIA themselves, asus, gigabyte, evga, etc), because they all perform at slightly different levels, although the difference is usually only a few frames so it's better to save money. something to watch out for is the quality of the fans in the GPU because if they aren't good, it will overheat and underperform. i'm aiming to get a 3060 or 3060 ti, if that helps. the only problem is that there is currently a worldwide GPU shortage due to covid, tariffs, and the cryptocurrency mining boom (gpus are used in bulk to mine). fortunately there is currently a crypto mining crackdown happening in china, where majority of mining in the world happens, so the demand for GPUs will hopefully start going down soon. you wont be able to build your pc right away but the market is looking better than it has in awhile. this is just about the only argument i have in favor of getting a prebuilt pc, because they have GPUs in them and are more readily available. i don't think that's a good enough reason though especially since part of the reason i'm building my pc is because it looks fun lol. another thing to note is that you should not overspend on your GPU. the shortage has caused a lot of GPU prices to skyrocket into the $2k-3k range but none of them should be above 1k except the highest end ones. when deciding on a GPU, search up the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). cards made by brands other than AMD and NVIDIA will almost always cost a little extra, but do not pay hundreds of
extra dollars. but anyways!! the GPU is now out of the way and is definitely the longest paragraph here because it's the most important part.
next up is the central processing unit (CPU), which you should be spending about 20 - 25% of your budget on. its job is essentially to retrieve instructions from the RAM and execute it. i suppose you could call it the brain. again you have two developers to choose from, this time between intel and AMD. i've had two laptops with an intel CPU and my current one has an AMD CPU and both are very good, however the general consensus is that you can get the same performance for less by going with AMD. CPUs have cores, and each core can run its own process. the more cores you have, the more your pc can think about basically. you can get CPUs will all sorts of amounts of cores but for gaming, 4 or 6 cores is all you really need. 8 is actually already a bit overkill. so you really don't need to get the best CPU out there. the one you get should depend on what GPU you get (hence choosing that component first). you don't want to bottleneck your GPU by getting a CPU that isn't good enough for it, but bottlenecking your CPU with the GPU by a small amount isn't as big of a deal because the goal is to allow your GPU to be used to its full ability. another detail about CPU is clock speed, which determines how quick it can complete tasks. the higher the faster, obviously. my (non gaming) laptop's CPU clock speed is 2.30 GHz and has 4 cores. the cpu i have for my build is the AMD ryzen 5 5600x. it has a base clock speed of 3.7 GHz but it can be maxed out to 4.6 GHz, and it has 6 cores. the oculus quest 2 has a minimum requirement of the AMD ryzen 5 1500x or the intel i5-4590, which is a little low on the performance list. but like i said the CPU should depend on the GPU. all it takes is a google search for which CPU goes best with the GPU you've chosen and you can find several answers depending on if you want the best possible performance, best budget performance, etc.. a nice little fact about choosing AMD over intel is that most AMD CPUs will come with a stock cooler, which is absolutely necessary otherwise your CPU will overheat (this is another thing prebuilts will cheap out on). this only adds to the whole price-to-performance thing. the stock cooler will most likely do unless you push your pc or want the build to look prettier.
next on the list is a motherboard, where all the parts come together in unity. you should spend 8 - 10% of your budget on this baby. it's easy to over and underspend on a mobo. the most important thing when it comes to choosing a mobo is that it supports your CPU. you cannot use the same mobo for intel and AMD CPUs. fortunately the product page will straight up tell you which CPU brand the mobo is meant for and will typically have two versions of the same board. it's important to note that motherboards don't always have onboard wifi, meaning it wont be able to connect to the internet via wifi and instead needs an ethernet cable or an external wifi adapter. if you can't get an ethernet cable to the room where you want your pc, you're going to need onboard wifi, or a wifi card/usb. onboard wifi mobos tend to be more expensive so it's up to you, but i personally bought one with wifi included so i wouldn't have to worry about it because our ethernet cables are in the basement and i'm upstairs. another very important thing about motherboards is that their BIOS version (operating system i guess?? idk how else to describe it) doesn't always support your CPU out of the box and must be updated before using it. this can present as a problem if you don't have another CPU to perform the update with, however some motherboards allow you to 'flash' the BIOS with a only usb drive as long as it's hooked up to power. there are plenty of step by step youtube videos about how to do this. i will have to do this with my motherboard when the time comes because it doesn't support ryzen 5s out of the box. don't let this deter you from getting a certain board as long as it has a BIOS flash feature. next up is what I/O ports you want, which are the ports (usb ports, headphone/mic jack, hdmi port, etc) you'd find on the back of any desktop computer. that is the side of the motherboard. basically just be aware of how many of each ports you want, and remember that there will probably be even more ports on the front of the case you get. the last thing i can think of right now is making sure your motherboard has all the headers (where you plug components in) you want it to have but i'll get to that later.
next up on the list is RAM, aka random access memory. this stores short term data. the amount of RAM you have kind of determines how much your pc can multitask. RAM sticks typically go up by some multiple of 2GB. most standard laptops and desktops nowadays will come with 8GB of RAM, which is enough for day to day use. it can be enough for mid and low end games however it cuts it pretty close most of the time. 16GB of RAM is the sweet spot for gaming and anything above that is pretty much overkill (and once again a waste of money) as long as you don't have a billion unnecessary background processes. a large amount of RAM is typically needed for video editors or computer programmers. you should always make sure your motherboard can support the amount of RAM you want although any good motherboard will support 64GB or even 128GB. the best option is to get a 16GB RAM pack, which will include two 8GB RAM sticks. splitting RAM between two sticks will increase efficiency. this is called dual channel. i also recommend getting DDR4 RAM, which is simply faster than DDR3. a good speed to have is around 3600 MHz. make sure your motherboard supports DDR4. you also want to be weary that your RAM is compatible with your CPU brand because they do have to interact for your pc to function.
next is storage. there are three-ish options here depending on how much you're willing to spend. generally you should spend 8 - 10% of the budget here. you can always get a good ole hard drive for the cheapest, however they are the slowest and physically biggest option, meaning whatever you put on it will take a bit longer for your pc to retrieve and open (they can load about 100-200MB of data per second). the next option is a solid state drive. they are a little more expensive but can load as much as 600MB of data per second and take up less space. the last and most efficient/expensive option is an m.2 nvme drive. these things are physically absolutely tiny and can load up to 4GB of data per second. anything you put on these will open very very quickly. the fairly standard solution for this is a combination of two of these three. personally i'm using one m.2 drive and one hard drive. the hard drive i have can store 2TB while the m.2 drive can only store 256GB. funnily enough these two drives are roughly the same price. the idea here is to install your operating system on the faster drive. this makes it so it only takes like 8 seconds tops for your pc to start up. you can also put any other programs you use most often on there (like your main browser and favourite games) and they will open very quickly, while the bulk of your games and other files will go on the bigger drive. that's all there really is to say for storage, just make sure the reviews are good on the drive you want to get, but that goes for any component.
next is your power supply (PSU). very very important to not cheap out on this. 6 - 8% of the budget should go to this. the function of the PSU is to do exactly what its name implies: supply power to all the components. this is where the website pcpartpicker can come in very handy. not only does it help you build a list of parts that are all compatible with each other, it will also estimate how much wattage you will need to run your pc. 600W is usually enough for a normal gaming pc. PSUs are ranked, and you should never really go below a bronze ranking. you can also choose between non-modular, semi-modular, and fully-modular PSUs. non-modular PSUs have all the cables permanently attached. this can be desirable to people who are confused by what cable is plugged in where but also undesirable as unused cables cannot be removed and make cable management harder. fully-modular PSUs come with the cables all in a separate bag so you choose which ones to plug in. semi-modular power supplies have the necessary cables attached and the rest can be attached need be. it all depends on preference and how much faith you have in yourself. i have an 80+ gold certified fully modular 750W PSU because the thought of unnecessary cable management makes me sick lol. corsair is pretty much the most trusted brand for power supplies. be careful because this is another place prebuilts will cut corners.
now for the case! this one isn't overly difficult to choose and mainly will just appeal to your aesthetics. it's less important to stick to a precise percent of the budget for this one but you also don't want to spend more than 8%. do you want a black case? a white one? do you want a glass side panel so you can see inside your pc and admire your hard work? besides that, you also need to make sure the case is big enough for your motherboard, GPU, and PSU. most info pages for cases will tell you the max size of the GPU and PSU and what size of mobo it's meant for. you also want to make sure there is a place to put your storage drives (unless you only have m.2 drives which are installed on the motherboard). you also want to make sure it has optimal airflow abilities. a case with no airflow will cause overheating. the best ones have mesh fronts and tops to allow cool air to be pulled in and hot air out. it's even better if you can get a case that comes with fans in the front, because they are what pulls that cool air in.
next is the CPU cooler, which i briefly mentioned. if you don't get an AMD CPU then you'll need to buy a separate cooler. you can choose between air coolers (a fan and a heatsink) or liquid coolers. i don't really have much to say about them and i recommend doing your own research on liquid coolers lol.
last but not least, case fans. like i said a lot of cases will come with front fans and also an exhaust fan at the back, however you might want more, or even replace the ones you already have with better ones. pay attention to how many fans your case manual says can fit and plan accordingly. check out reviews to see if the fans you want are quiet and efficient. if you buy a three pack of case fans there is a chance it will come with a fan hub. this makes it easier to control all of them in sync because the hub will connect all the fans to one header on the motherboard. generally 3-6 fans are pretty good for a gaming pc. two or three in the front pulling in cool air, one at the back and two on the top to pull out hot air.
now that i have all the components out of the way i'm gonna talk about RGB lighting. numerous components that i've mentioned have the option of including LED lights to make your pc brightly coloured, which is always nice if you have a glass side panel on your pc. it's an extra bit of money but i personally was willing to sacrifice that because i want to show off my build lmao. motherboards, RAM sticks, GPUs, CPU coolers, and case fans are the main components that can come with RGB lighting. you can also get special LED strips and power connectors designed for PCs. if you decide to go for RGB lighting, do try to stick to one RGB ecosystem, meaning make sure all the RGB components can be controlled by one program. RGB is controlled by your motherboard. for example if you get an asus motherboard you'll probably want to use their program, aura sync. most components can be controlled by any brand's program however if the motherboard itself has RGB lighting it can only be controlled via its own brand's program, along with the GPU. if you want RGB case fans you really have to make sure your motherboard has RGB headers (the thingy on the motherboard where you plug the fan's LED lights into). most motherboards will only have two-ish RGB headers so if you're going to buy a bunch of fans make sure they come with a fan hub, which lets you plug them all into one header on the motherboard. also, never sacrifice performance for RGB. specifically when it comes to GPUs. if you have a choice between a GPU with RGB and a GPU without RGB, always take the one that has better performance (given it's within the parameters i mentioned earlier).
that's all i have to say :) if you couldn't tell i really love this stuff. i will also recommend you watch youtube videos about this, you can see the build process and the reasoning for using each component, and also tips on what to do and what not to do. i hope this helps and wasn't too confusing. i know you said this is mainly because you got an oculus quest 2 but if you're going to get a gaming pc you should definitely consider games outside of the oculus too.

- That’s a good idea. Being able to pick specifically I think would be too much. There are ALOT of corruptions so that would mean many many menus to be able to select everything. Being able to pick one of the four types seems fair to me as something to spend points on in Full Custom. Added it to my notes.

-Took me awhile to work this out as going from human to human seemed fine. However you’re right that those with a heritage like demi-angels or succubi will incorrectly keep the previous racial. 
The second so as long as you have at least one human you can get the buff by say having a northerner, noble, wastelander, and convent.

I do an update on the patreon every two weeks which is linked on the twitter. You do not need to be a patron to read these and is the best way to stay informed about what I’ve been up to. That includes the status of the conversion. To quickly sum it up;
It's at a stage where all the RAGS to Twine code conversion is basically done. What I need to do now is translate all that work into something playable and there's currently big logic issues with a bunch of the conditions and passages. So what I'm currently doing is trying to tidy up the visual look of the code with a bunch of idents with the theory that will make finding the errors easier.
Alas it’s not me disallowing guest posts... Picarto had some massive stonking issues and so they locked things down hard due to that preventing guests from chatting. I suggest a throwaway email site to get around that.
I don’t think there’s any art in the game file that’s not used as I try to keep on top of deleting the old ones. Not really down for doing art packs of the old ones as due to that not being my art so I see them as placeholder only until they can be replaced by commissions. 
I probably do need to do some kind of roadmap sometime. I’m less keen as it’s kind of a dirty word these days as due to the miss-use of them by others it’s got some bad connontations, but I’m also aware the alternative which is me randomly mentioning stuff on discord/picarto streams leaves the vast majority of my audience in the dark which is also really not ideal.

It’s not hit industrialization yet. What makes the difference is and allows cities like Aversol and even bigger to exist is that the organization of the human empire is far better than it has any right to be for the other levels of development being able to keep an incredibly complex supply chain constantly flowing even if on the ground level it barely seems to be moving at all. There are also some much, much larger farms both on the Great Plains and further to the north compared to the much more isolated single/couple of households ones that your slavers raid.

Love When Week’s End Comes for a recent one. Writing all the results in colour commentary (and all the variations for weather, events and outcomes) was a real challenge and I do like how it came out. 
Witch-Queen and Arisin’ for being the first times I tried to go for a different, more potentially disturbing/freaky mood, and I’m pleased with the results. 
Sable Masquerade as I really like the ‘bad end’ I came up with. Actually I like the whole thing as while the pitch from the patron obviously helped, a lot of it was inspired by a random superhero bondage party picture I saw on HF, which I decided to run with, and had a bunch of fun exploring.

Kreen rogue mainly as I really like the edit I did for the portrait which MidnightonMars later translated into a commission.

Clothing management. So very much clothing management. I’ve redone it entirely twice now, and it’s still not where I want it to be. 
[From the Discord]: What was your inspiration for creating the setting of No Haven?  Has the direction the game has gone varied from your initial idea? If so what has been the biggest change?
- It started off with adapting the chan game Deeper Dungeons which was basically a certain popular mmo with nothing different about it outside of it being porn along with some possibly unwise options of personal abuse. I first changed it by ditching gnomes for neko which to my mind was a clear upgrade. There even used to be an examine refference in the RAGS version to suggest they’d been in the region of the dungeons before being driven out.
Then it was a gradual process of adding with the occasional subtractions to get it closer to a more Warhammer feeling setting which has always been a major love of mine when I was still doing Whorelock’s in RAGS.
With No Haven it was a case of building on what I’ve done there and expanding upon that with the race lore and assignment descriptions. Biggest was probably when I did the favoured/unfavoured stuff and added a ton of extra backstory to various races to justify the choices made there.

café hopping is a productive past time
In between battling Gym Leaders for their badges and training her team with that single minded focus she could apply to anything (languages, reading the tells of opponents, Pokémon battling, saving the goddamn world because no one else was doing anything-!), Nixie finds herself exploring the café scene of Galar.
The Battle Café is the largest chain, at least according to several articles on the best places to eat in the region, and she can see why it's so popular, even if the overabundance of sugary sweet and milk chocolate confections clashes with her preference of harsh sour and dark chocolate.
She still pops in, every once in a while, to battle the Café Master and see if there's anything on the menu other than a cup of black coffee that piques her interest (there never is).
She takes to exploring every town and city she winds up in, combing them from left to right and marking out cafés she likes the look of for further investigation. Sometimes her Pokémon join her, Drizzile especially develops a taste for café hopping, but most of the time she's alone. She debates dragging Hop along, always when they meet up and battle, but never asks, content to let him chase his dream of being Champion, of defeating his undefeatable older brother. She doesn't tell him she now shares that dream, at least slightly, even if it's for completely different reasons.
(In the end, this love of café hopping was the catalyst towards a friendship forming between her and him, the undefeatable Champion; an unstoppable force and an immovable object, but she'd never say that)
It's a pitstop, really. She'd had a craving for something just verging on the edge of sweet, but still with plenty of bite to it. Dark chocolate was her answer.
This café was the closest one she'd found that could properly satisfy it, along with her seemingly never ending craving for good coffee. The fact it isn't that far from the Budew Drop Inn is a bonus; she does have a Gym Challenge to beat in the morning after all.
Drizzile is out of his ball and sat across from her, content with his plate of Pecha Berry cheesecake. For a moment, Nixie marvels at his ability to eat anything, regardless of whether it was spicy or sweet, sour or bitter, in large quantities.
She takes a sip from her cup of coffee and considers her empty plate for a brief second, pondering the idea of getting something else, before she returns to people watching.
Most of the people that pass aren't taking part in the Gym Challenge, but the ones she does recognize, she knows by their hair colour. 
She takes another sip.
There's someone with purple hair across the street, their back is turned towards her. Someone people seem to be moving around and glancing back at with respect and awe in their eyes, someone with purple hair and a black cap and an ostentatious red ca-
She blinks.
Oh.
Oh.
Her eyes aren't playing tricks on her. That is definitely Leon, looking slightly lost even without his (rather expressive, all things considered) face turned towards her.
She glances at her partner. He looks back at her, plate empty of his sweet treat. Her eyes flick to his Pokéball, placed in the middle of the table, for a fraction of a second. He nods, a barely there thing, and she presses the button to return him. 
Nixie turns back to the man across the street. She wonders if, maybe, she should call out to him. He does look lost and she knows he has a terrible sense of direction, although everyone probably knows that, but there is the slight issue of them not really having much of a connection aside from Hop.
She doesn't have to decide, which is honestly a small blessing, because he turns around and spots her. His eyes widen for a moment before he smiles, a bright thing that blurs the line between real and performance.
He crosses the street with ease, thanks partially to the fact that crowds seem to part when he walks through, and also because the number of people on this particular street had been steadily dwindling as the sky darkened.
She doesn't try to stop her mouth from quirking up at the corners into a small smile. He had that air, she supposes, that could get people smiling and laughing with him. 
"Nixie! How's it going?" He comes to a stop beside her table.
"Oh, you know. It's going. Training does tend to make time fly," her expression is amused and she knows it, tapping the top of Drizzile's Poké Ball with her pointer finger. 
He laughs and nods in agreement, smile turning amused. "Dont push yourself, or your team, too hard."
Laughter, quiet and unexpected, leaves her in a small burst. Tilting her head to the side, she gives him a lopsided smile, a confident gleam in her eyes.
"This aint my first journey, ya know. I know my limits, know just how far to push them, and I'm learning my team's limits as well."
"Still... take care," Leon shakes his head at her, but his smile is a little more real, a little less fake.
"Will do, Champion," she gives him a two fingered salute and takes another sip of her coffee. "You can sit down if you want, you know."
"You don't have someone with you?" he raises an eyebrow, looking at the other plate.
"Drizzile has developed a taste for cheesecake," Nixie replies simply, "I let him join me sometimes. He gets food, I get company. You can sit."
"Yes, ma'am," his smile is definitely a teasing one now, and she shoots him a glare for calling her "ma'am", but he sits down.
They're quiet for a minute. Nixie takes another sip from her coffee that has long been cold by  this point and Leon looks at her like he's trying to figure something out. She wonders if he knows about Sinnoh and Kalos and what happened there, if he's trying to figure out whether it's something he can bring up.
'He probably could,' she thinks. She'll need to talk about it eventually. Sooner rather than later.
"So what's it like, travelling through Galar after Kalos?"
She recalls telling Hop that she'd lived in Kalos before moving to Galar, so she guesses he figured out which order she'd travelled through regions in from that.
Nixie ponders the question, pursing her lips and frowning slightly.
"Colder," she decides finally. "Reminds me of Sinnoh, even if it's slightly warmer here. Did ya know that roller skating is the big way to get around Kalos? Couldn't do that here."
Their conversation after revolves around him asking her questions about her previous journeys, giving no hint as to whether he'd figured out what she'd done whilst there, and her responding in kind, asking him about his own journey.
"What is this? Twenty questions?" her voice is amused, head tilted to the side, and she smiles.
"It could be," Leon shrugs, amusement clear in his voice, in his smile, in his eyes. "I'd like to get to know you outside of what Hop tells me."
Nixie blinks. Once, twice, three times. Okay then.
"Yeah, sure," she shrugs, taps the side of her empty cup. "Why not?"
"I'll go first. Favourite pokemon?"
"Oooh, tough call," there's a spark of amusement, of fondness, in her eyes as she talks, "I guess I'd have to say Florges. The one I travelled with during my Kalos journey was a character, but she could get the job done when it was needed. Couldn't resist stopping to garden whenever I passed flowers with her out of her Poké Ball."
"Is that your favourite type then? Fairy?" Leon hears the fondness in her voice and understands why Hop came to be close with her so quickly, if she cared about all her Pokémon like that.
"That's two questions you've asked me, you know. You're supposed to ask one" Nixie points out, smiling. "If you get to ask two questions, so do I."
"That's fair," he nods his head.
"But, to answer your question, no. Fairy types aren't my favourite, Water types are."
"I should've guessed," his voice is dry, but he's smiling. "After all, there did seem to be more Water types then any other in your lineup that day."
She pouts at him for a moment before shrugging.
"I guess I've never felt drawn to as many Pokémon of types like Fire as I have Water. Houndoom's really the only Fire type I've considered training, and he was a darling during Sinnoh, but aside from him? I have more want to train Fairy types."
She doesn't tell him why she uses Fairy types as an example instead of, say, Electric types. It's still a little too raw, especially with the dreams of Xerneas and the mushroom forest (Glimwood Tangle. She knows what it's called now, after one particular late night search of the internet. She doesn't know why she dreams of it, but she assumes it's Xerneas' doing)
"'Only Fire type'? You mean you've never thought about training a Charizard?" he's teasing her and she knows it, the mischievous look in his eyes clear to see.
"Well," she drawls out the word, resting her elbow on the table and leaning her chin on the palm of her hand, "seeing your Charizard and how well you work together did prompt some consideration of whether training one would be worthwhile."
"Did it now?" 
"Mmm hmm," she hums, a mischievous look of her own in her eyes, "I might put more thought into it after I've finished the Gym Challenge but, for now, I have two questions of my own for you."
"I'll hold you to that," he winks at her and laughs. "Shoot."
"What is your favourite Pokémon type?" 
"Using the same questions as me now?" he raises an eyebrow, "is that allowed?"
"You asked two questions instead of one, I'll ask a question you asked. Seems like a fair deal," Nixie points out, smirking at the man.
"...Alright," he concedes, "I don't really have one favourite type overall but, if pushed, I'd have to say Dragon."
"That checks out, what with your partner looking like a Dragon type."
He rolls his eyes at her, smiling all the while, and stands.
"It's been nice, talking to you, Nixie, but Champion duty calls. We'll continue our game later."
"I'd hate for you to be to late because you got lost and didn't have enough time to find your way," she replies dryly, but she smiles. "Thanks for the company, Leon."
She watches him go and muses, quietly, to herself that talking him had indeed made the time go by much quicker.
Better head back to the hotel, at any rate. 
Things to do in the morning. Lots of things to do.

first of all, thank you to ea for giving me early access to this game pack through the game changer program. all of these screenshots have been presented to you by the ea game changers.
Ratings:
CAS 9/10
Build/Buy 8/10
World 9/10

So I really want to be as honest as I possibly can with you guys. Game changers get a lot of stick for licking EA’s asses but I don’t see the point in lying to you all and singing praises that I don’t agree with so just know that this review is my own words and honest thoughts. Lets begin

CAS
I loved the CAS stuff, well, most of it. Everyone was so crazy about those dreads but I just wasn’t feeling them! I love dreads and basically always have my sims of colour donning them, but I felt like these just looked a bit weird? They fell awkwardly around the face and it looked like someone had used some hairspray to give it volume but really failed?? Idk, thats my opinion. I know a lot of people really love them so Im not gonna shit on that but I just felt they could’ve been made to look a bit more natural and a lot less stiff. Apart from that though, and the awful swatches on the cowboy boots and the low rise jeans, I seriously adored the aesthetic of the cas stuff. I loved all of the female stuff and the male tops were to die for. It’s a shame males got less stuff again, some more army inspired clothes or even tattoos could’ve been cool here but we need to remember that this is a game pack and not an expansion. For a game pack, we got quite a lot of stuff in cas. It’s definitely a western style with a cowboy theme, so if you’re not a fan of that, you wont like the cas stuff.
Build/Buy
I’m not a huge builder, but when I do build, I love vintage stuff and clutter! This pack definitely gave us both of these things. The debug menu is chock full of clutter that will be used in loads of different places. The only complaint I have is a) the style is very scify and probably wont be used in a home b) certain items in the debug menu that are to do with the story (ie. a hazmat suit) is just a parcel in build/buy mode. I get why that is but… it would’ve been cool to have the actual suit to place instead of a tiny parcel that the suit would never realistically fit in lmao
World
The world is beautiful. It gives me huge ts3 vibes. It looks like Willow Creek and Oasis Springs had a baby. My only complaints for the world is that you will get infected/possessed sims walking around and ruining the realism for you and also that most of my favorite parts of the world (downtown) are just deco.
Gameplay
The new gameplay is directly linked to the story but I decided to do them as two separate things because I enjoyed the gameplay actions more than the story itself. The new interactions were super cute but very limited and very repetitive. After you’ve done it once and had a giggle over it, it will probably get tiring to do it again… and again, which is what the story expects you to do. 
Story
To begin with, I was having a lot of fun with the story, until I hit a bug for whatever reason and I couldn’t obtain an item I needed to continue. A lovely game changer helped me and told me I could purchase the item from the debug list buuuuut that doesn’t really fix the issue in the first place does it. The fact that I had to cheat to carry on really just ruined it for me tbh. The start of the story was new and quirky and it felt super fresh. It didn’t feel like I was playing the sims, but a side game of the sims. However as I progressed, I was constantly reminded that I was playing the sims, as Johnny needed to eat and sleep and poop ect. So I ended up cheating there too and turning off his needs cause I just couldn’t manage both at once. Maybe that’s because I was rushing to finish the story for you guys, but it did definitely feel like you had to choose one or the other. I also decided to quit his job right at the beginning because already his days were so busy I had no clue how on earth I would finish in time if he had to go to work to. So after the bug, you had to start doing stuff and requesting items from people. And heres the catch: you had to be good friends with them. This was taking honestly forever so I had to cheat in order to get their friendship levels up. I don’t want to spoil anything sooo SPOILER ALERT DONT READ THIS IN THE BRACKETS [when you vaccinated a possessed sim and asked them to come and fight mother with you, you had to be good friends with them so they accepted. this was SUCH a drag because you needed 15 spores and 1 fruit to make a vaccine so if they said lol thanks 4 curing me but nah i aint gonna help you just wasted an entire vaccine. so i ended up just using mccc to cheat their friendships up to max so they couldn’t say no]. I know even now that I will not be replaying the story unless I have to to get rid of the possessed sims in the world. I LOVE the world and I really do hope there’s a way (or a future mod) to turn them off because they are really distracting from every day sim life. 
Overall
If you wanna buy this pack for the aesthetics and items I would highly encourage it. I personally think the items alone give us enough content to make it worth while. However, as I have said, I do slightly feel like the storyline is forced upon you where as I think it should be totally optional. Not all of us like stories whereas some people love them and I think whoever we are we should be able to opt in or out of a piece of gameplay that we purchase. If you wanna buy it for the story only, I would… eh… I dunno what I’d do. I wasn’t overwhelmed by it. It wasn’t shocking or creepy as advertised. But it certainly was a fun new type of gameplay that I am excited to see them use in the future maybe with some other ideas!
I hope this made sense, I just sort of word vomited all of this down! Hopefully some one will find this review helpful lol

Our sense of self is heavily impacted by the media that we consume, and by those that we surround ourselves with. Our sense of what it means to be in the LGBTQIA+ community also changes along with us. We absorb stereotypes from media, we absorb the identities of our friends, we find that there is no one set expression of our community, but a multi facetted, ever changing riot of colours as vivid as our flag.

I am Transgender, which took a bit of coming to terms with after having identified as a lesbian for so much of my life. Initially I knew that I was attracted to women, and I struggled a bit with realising that that was different to everyone else. When I was little I thought that everyone felt the same way, but it was a secret that no one spoke about.
One of the things that I struggled with a little bit in my mid twenties to now was the idea that I was no longer Gay, and I was actually straight, due to the transgender thing, because being gay had been a part of my identity for so long. The loss of community that I’ve felt since then has been more and more present in my life because I know that I fit into a very basic idea of gender presentation, so once I do get to a point where I start passing, I feel like I’ll be intruding upon the queer community, because I’m just some straight guy.
Which is one of the reasons I’ve been feeling better about moving towards more open communities, such as Unicorns, rather than stuff that’s just targeted towards gay women, I feel less comfortable in those spaces now.

I always remember identifying more with guys, and feeling that I had been put together wrong, even before I had heard about concepts of being transgender. It got hammered out of me through childhood, and I learnt to put those feelings away for a long time, until sometime in my mid twenties, when I became more aware about transgender people, and had a serious think about where all of these feelings were rooted inside me.
The difficult thing was that when I became aware of my dysphoria, it made me more aware of the limitations of what I could wear that would look good with my body. I’d always dressed quite masculine, but I was now dealing with the fact that if I wanted to wear mens clothes, clothes that I actually liked and enjoyed, they just wouldn’t fit with my body and the way that my body is built.
Binding was never something that I loved because if anything it just felt like a more intense bra and I couldn’t breathe as well, which would give me anxiety because… well I couldn’t breathe… even while binding, it didn’t feel good enough to make clothes fit naturally, so getting top surgery really helped with that, and even just being able to put on a shirt and have it sit properly feels right.

Queerness and partying are all so tied up so heavily in sexual liberation that there’s a sense, when being at an lgbtqia+ party to just… wear less clothing. Not a promiscuity thing, but a nod to the fact that queer rights are inherently tied up in sexual liberation – persecution of the community has always been because of an individual’s sexual preference. You can’t escape that link to sexuality, which is why when we’re in party mode, which the CisHet community would see at pride parades and stuff, there’s that idea that we’re all promiscuous and sexually charged, when it’s more about recognising that freedom to express our sexuality.
The need to dress that way of course doesn’t reflect what we would feel comfortable wearing day to day, for me especially. it’s a costume that we put on to recognise that sort of cultural heritage.

A lot of inter LGBT fashion stereotypes, I feel, have been perpetuated as a sort of uniform that we can adhere to. Especially for younger lgbt people who arent properly a part of the community yet. I remember being younger and looking up all of the things that were stereotypically gay, like Shane in the L word always wearing converse. So I bought converse, and all of the stereotypical gay stuff, so that I could flag to other people what my identity was, without straight people being as aware of, but queer people might click onto and recognise me.
As I’ve gotten older, I feel that I’ve moved away from those stereotypes. I feel that It happens with everybody who’s been in the community for a while. Your only ideas of queerness dont come from the media, they come from the people around you, making it easier to find yourself and be yourself, rather than following the two dimensional characters that they give us.

Have you ever heard the word 'breathless'?
It has different meaning of its own if you put it in different use. One could describe the meaning of extreme surprise where you just froze in your spot, mouth hung agape as you look at the most precious thing in you possession in awe.
It truly was a wonderful description to appreciate such blessings.
Yet, in another meaning, one that you make sense of literally, has such a different effect, with a stark contrast between light and darkness, akin of a nightmare in the middle of a day dream.

Everything happened so fast. One moment she was just standing there in her comfy clothes, casually washing the dishes then the next moment. She saw her lying on the floor as the plate she was holding dropped and shattered against the hard wood floor. It might be just at the spur of the moment, where she exists and everything fell apart. She was rooted to the spot, head staying on the same spot her love used to stand just moments ago. Slowly, but surely everything came rushing back, like a river current overcoming any hindrance. Her hands were shaking when she finally got control of her body.
"LISA!" She screamed then, heart gripped with the panic brewing inside her at seeing her lover so frail, surrounded with the broken glass scattered around her body. She was shaken with pity that at such a tragic misery her love was still attention's sweet centre. Painted was the tragically beautiful story of their journey, started with her world brushed with dark muddy colours.
“oh mygod ohmygod,”
Jisoo swore she never ran so fast in her life.
In the blink of an eye, she was holding her lover's head on her lap as her fingers fumbled with her phone, the trembling digits struggling to call 9-1-1.
"I need your help please... She fainted....I-" That was the last thing Lisa heard as the black spots on her vision finally swallowed her whole. When the last sigh left her lips, her body became slack.
And that,
was the night everything changed.

The trip to the hospital was not one on her favourite list of trips but, at seeing her lover sudden decline of health, she wondered just how long it would take for the ambulance to reach the hospital. She sighed over and over again as she held Lisa’s hand close and kissed each of her knuckles.
She choked back a sob as her eyes welled with tears and the state Lisa was in. Oxygen mask covered her face, and somehow in the span of minutes she had only just noticed how pale and gaunt her love actually is, a drastic difference to her usually fair and healthy body. She cursed herself, hating the fact that she had failed to see the symptoms that might have had explained the ongoing situation.
“I’m sorry baby, I should have looked after you better and stayed home more, fuck I’m- I’m fucking sorry I shouldn’t have I-,” Her speech was cut off due to the sob threatening to burst out.
“pl-please just wake u-up please…”
It may seem unusual for those close to her but,
She prayed that night.
To whatever gods there are out there, she just hoped they’d listened.
When the sound of cars honking filled her hearing and the pounding of her heart reverberated throughout her body, she closed her lids tightly. Lips mouthing an inaudible prayer as tears welled in her eyes. She held her lover's hand a little tighter, yet somehow, she still refused to cry.
‘Me and my pride’ she muses.
She refrained herself to believe anything but her lover being okay again.
She had to be okay..
She just had to...

The short trip to the hospital turned out to be a long one. The seconds and the minutes turned into hours as she waited outside the ER. She paced back and forth for she knew that there was something wrong, though she refused to believe it. Realising she might have to tell Chaeyoung, she steeled herself against the obvious thunderstorm and pressed call.
It doesn’t take long for the said best friend/ sister to pick up, and for some reason she felt guilty, like it was somehow her fault when the first hello filtered through the phone.
“Jisoo unnie? Are you there?”
“Umm… Chaeng, I-I’m so fucking sorry, I don’t know what just happened I-“
“Unnie? Please calm down, what happened? Is Lisa okay?”
“She-“
“She’s just been admitted to the hospital, Chaeyoung-ah…”
“WHAT?! JENNIE WE NEED TO GO NOW!”
“Chaeng- I..” She tried to say when the phone beeps, indicating the end of the call.
They came 15 minutes after she hang up their call, appearance so dishevelled some might think they’re some kind of a hobo.
“Is she okay?” Jennie asked as Chaeyoung was currently feeling too wrecked to even function.
“I- I don’t know , Jen.. One minute she was standing and the next she was suddenly on the floor unconscious.” She explained as her hands swung wildly in her manic.
Jennie said nothing but pulled Jisoo into a tight hug in which she immediately melt into, followed by Chaeyoung as the three of them relied on each other for the comfort they badly needed at the moment.
Their million questions were finally answered another hour later. In midst of her mini panic, the doctor handling Lisa's case came out of the room and approached her jittery self.
"I'm sorry...”
That was all Jisoo needed to hear to know that, she was not okay, her lover never was. She knew, Lisa knew that she didn't have much time left and yet, she still smiled and act that bubbly personality of hers. Always unyielding, always without flaw, not even once.
A gasp was heard, yet she couldn’t care less.
Jisoo pondered, just when did Lisa became such a good liar?
"I hate you so much..." She sobbed as her back slid against the white hospital wall. Its horror and constant dullness that painted her peripheral stayed unflinching. Leaving her, to fend for herself after the heart wrenching news that might just destroyed every good thing she had left in her life.
‘such a tragic life of a dreamer’’Such a pity’

Jisoo spent a restless night back at home. She laid on her side of the bed and took in the unusual coldness of her own personal sanctuary. Her stare resided on the empty right side of her bed. The golden sparks in her eyes had faded hours ago, only the remnants of it stayed. It had turned tedious brown in its departure.
She breathed deep, trying to remember her scent. Truth to be told, it had been hard for her to leave her love alone on the hospital bed, but she was not one to defy doctor's order. Though she really gave the nurses a run for their money when they need to forcefully dragged her away from her lover's limp body.
She decided then, she should have fought against their grasps harder, for Lisa was worth every struggle.
Every. Single. One.

Days passed in a blur after the news. It was broadcasted on their social media accounts that they will be taking a long hiatus with the reasons unknown. It sure did cause an uproar in their fandom with their seemingly abrupt disappearance but in the end they couldn’t do anything but to accept their idols’ decision.
Realising the ticking time that was eating away her love’s life, Jisoo brought her everywhere her heart wished for. Her heart clenched every time she saw Lisa's face light up when she brought her to places she had never been before, knowing any moment now could be her last.
She smiled bitterly at that. Her time was limited and she was fucking desperate for any kind of miracle. She prayed every night, for something, anything, to happen.
Because she would give it all just for her to be okay again. That way, they would be able to do the future they had planned out together. In their future, they would be living in a 2 storey mansion with Dalgomie, Leo, Luca and 4 kids running around the house. They would grow old together, wasting their time watching the sunset every evening with a warm cup of tea.
Fate always said otherwise, because the one time she actually found someone who loved her for her. They took her away from Jisoo.
Even sometimes, love was not enough...

It was another cold evening on the midst of December. The couple was snuggling on the couch just enjoying each other's warmth. Jennie and Chaeyoung were out, buying food for their dinner. No words were spoken, though the comfortable silence of the empty dorm was broken when Lisa called out to Jisoo.
"Jisoo?" Lisa asked quietly, head laying slack against Jisoo's chest.
"Hmm?" She responded, hand moving to stroke Lisa's hair gently.
"Can we sing right now?"
Her hand stilled from her movement as she looked down at her. Usually, Jisoo would have laughed at the random request but the look on Lisa's face, left her stunned. Absentmindedly, Jisoo started to sing one of her favourite song, Long Live.
It really was ironic.
"I said remember this moment
In the back of my mind...” She started, voice wavering a bit.
She was shaken out of her reverie when Lisa suddenly sat up and started pulling at her hands, urging her to stand with her.
“The time we stood with our shaking hands
The crowds in stands went wild
We were the kings and the queens
And they read off our names
The night you danced like you knew our lives
Would never be the same ..."
At this point, they were both dancing around in their apartment, not caring about what would happen in the future. Live in the now they said.
“You held your head like a hero...”
Lisa sang, voice sounding off key but none of them care anyways. She crossed her arms and posed as superman pretending to be showing her ‘spectacular biceps’ that had become bony and last muscular over the past few months. She nodded her head at Jisoo cueing at her to sing the next lines.
"On a history book page
It was the end of a decade
But the start of an age..."
Jisoo stayed quiet and instead, she only looked at her funnily. Lisa had no choice but to continue singing with a grumpy voice.
"Come on CHICHU!! I SAID ONE, TWO, THREE... SING WITH ME!!" She held out her hand between them as if to share the microphone for the both of them.
"Long live the walls we crashed through
All the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
I was screaming, "Long live all the magic we made"
And bring on all the pretenders
One day we will be remembered...”
This time Jisoo did join the fun, screaming with her lover as they belted out the lyrics. They might just sound like dying whale and the neighbours would surely filled out a noise complaint but seriously, they could careless right now. No headlines, no media, no worries. Just Jisoo and Lisa singing off key in their penthouse apartment.
"I said remember this feeling
I passed the pictures around
Of all the years that we stood there on the sidelines
Wishing for right now..."
Lisa continued as she looked at Jisoo and pulled on a funny face, successfully bringing a long overdue smile on her girlfriend's face.
"We are the kings and the queens
You traded your baseball cap for a crown..."
Jisoo gestured to Lisa's head as if to put on an imaginary crown on her. Lisa smiled at the gesture and did an over exaggerated curtsy before standing up straight to urged Jisoo to keep singing as she swayed from left to right, doing some weird dancing of her own.
"When they gave us our trophies
And we held them up for our town
And the cynics were outraged
Screaming, "This is absurd"
'Cause for a moment a band of thieves in ripped up jeans got to rule the world..."
Jisoo belted the lyrics as she knelt on the floor like a rock star. Lisa was having the time of her life as she rolled down on the floor laughing her ass off.
"Love live the wall we crashed through
All the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
I was screaming, "Long live all the magic we made"
And bring on all the pretenders..." Jisoo sang loudly.
I'm not afraid," Lisa continued with a big grin on her face.
"Long live all the mountains we move
I had the time of my life
Fighting dragons with you
I was screaming, "Long live the look on your face"
And bring on all the pretenders
One day we will be remembered
Hold on to spinning around
Confetti falls to the ground
May these memories break our fall..."
Jisoo actually sang beautifully this time, giving it her all as she pour her heart for their impromptu Lichu-karaoke session. As she opened her mouth to sing the next stanza, Lisa had already beaten her to it.
"Will you take a moment,
promise me this...
That you'll stand by me forever
But if God forbid fate should step in,
And force us into a goodbye..."
Lisa sang the lines softly to Jisoo as she put her hand over her heart as tears welled in her eyes.
"If you have children someday
When they point to the pictures,
Please tell them my name..."
Her voice cracked as she sang it, knowing the reality of it all. Jisoo rushed to comfort her but one hand motion from Lisa and another plea of "I'm okay," left her with no choice but to continue the song.
"Tell them how the crowds went wild
Tell them how I hope they shine
Long live the walls we crashed through
I had the time of my life, with you...”
Jisoo presented Lisa with a teary smile as she pointed her fingers at her. She furiously wiped her tears away, and when she belted the next line, she was determined to end this in a good note.
All smiles no frowns.
"Long, long live the walls we crashed through
All the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
And I was screaming, "long live all the magic we made"
And bring on all the pretenders
I'm not afraid..." She sang as she put on a brave face and a salute at Lisa, getting a smile out in return. Jisoo gave her a signal and they sang the last lines together.
"Singing long live all the mountains we moved
I had the time of my life
Fighting dragons with you
And long, long live the look on your face
And bring on all the pretenders
One day, we will be remembered..."
They finished the song quickly and enveloped each other in a tight embrace, tears still streaming down their faces.
"Long live us...” Jisoo whispered against her head.
"Long live you...” She added with a smile, before pressing a light kiss on Lisa’s forehead.
You will be remembered...

Lisa did last longer than expected as she somehow managed to get past through her birthday and Jisoo's. Though another incident might have barraged their way at her.
On the morning after Jisoo's birthday, Lisa had stupidly fell off her bed. But that, was not the problem. It was the excruciating pain that followed after that. She swore she had never screamed so loud in her life.
Hearing her screams, Jisoo bolted upstairs towards their shared bedroom. Fingers fumbling with her phone ready to call 9-1-1.
This was giving her a sense of déjà vu. Added with the fact that in dire times like this, Jennie and Chaeng always seemed to be away at an important meeting with their management, leaving Jisoo alone to deal with a crying Lisa.
Seeing her Lisa laying helplessly on the floor, screaming her head off, Jisoo panic level accelerate to 100 real quick. She knelt down beside the whimpering girl and wafted her hand through her hair, while whispering sweet nothings to soothe her pain.
"You're gonna be okay, baby.."

"She fell the wrong way, Chaeyoung. I've said this to you a million times. Why won't you believe me?" Jisoo hissed at Chaeyoung as they walked down the hospital halls to Lisa's room. She was being prepped for immediate surgery because apparently her stupid fall could possibly cause paralysis. Stupid bed and stupid floor, she had said.
"Wow unnie , Okay I believe you, but seriously you need to chill. You're basically on fire right now.." Chaeyoung tread carefully, afraid to get Jisoo madder than she already was.
"You're dealing with this better than I ever was Chaeng. How are you okay with her dying?" She ranted, frustrated.
"I'm not, and I never will be okay with her dying, so don't even try to say that. But, do you know what makes me strong unnie? It was her wish. She personally told me that she wanted her last days to be full of smiles, not tears; not frowns. So I tried, I really tried my best every day to keep the smile on my face, to keep the happy thoughts on my head as if she wasn't dying. I had to respect her wish. I had to, unnie..." Chaeyoung confessed as she blinked rapidly to avoid the tears from falling, knowing Lisa would caught up with her act once she saw a faint tear marks on her face.
"I'm sorry Chaeyoung-ah, I-I didn't know,"
"It's okay unnie, please just trust me on this. You need to respect her wish too okay?"
"All smiles?"
"All smiles."

It had not been great.
Lisa was paralysed from the waist down. But she had not reacted poorly. She had taken a moment of silence after the news, both her lover and best friends looking at her expectantly, gauging her reaction. What happened next was not expected by the both of them.
With a defeated sigh, Lisa had looked back up towards the doctor and asked a simple question.
"Can I go back home now?"
The meaning behind her words were clear, she didn't want to talk about it and it was to be expected. Yet, that split moment when she looked at Jisoo at the word 'home', really messed with Chaeyoung's emotion. She had lived, knowing that her best friend and sister had found her home. A place for her to belong, yet, it was wretched from her grasp just after she found it.
Home…
Lost.

Today was the day the two brotp? finally get to hang out. Though, Jennie realised she should have done this sooner. She had immediately became fast friends with Lisa after their first meeting with each other during their trainee days. She had said, the only reason they got along so well was because their ‘stupid aegyo tendencies and annoyingly cute gummy smiles ’ cheers to Jennie for that. She knew her gummy smiles are valuable winning weapon. So to speak, with their fast growing friendship and what not, this news had truly affected Jennie deeply.
They were strolling around the central park, not a lot of people were in sight which was a plus to the both of them.
"Jennie, if you didn't stop thinking, smoke might came out of your head any time now," Lisa suddenly said, causing her to pause in her movement.
"Shut it Manoban, or do I have to hit you to do so?" Jennie clapped back at her best friend who now appeared offended. She put a dramatic hand over her chest and said.
"Really? You'll hit a cripple? WHERE ARE YOUR MORALS?"
"Where yours are?" Jennie sassed.
"Shit, let me call Satan. He has them. Along with my list of fucks I do not give."
"Oh please, SOMEONE PLEASE GET THIS GIRL SHE'S ANNOYING ME," Jennie was all but shout.
"Watch it Nini or I'll tell Chaengie about your behaviour."
"You are such a tattle-teller, you b*tch. You disgust me," Jennie said in her best Kim-Kardashian-accent as she flipped her hair to get her point across.
"My energy should not be wasted talking to you, move along please I need to get my ice cream," Lisa commanded from her wheelchair bossily.
"You're lucky you're cute or else I would've left you somewhere," Jennie complained as she grudgingly started to push the wheelchair to the ice cream shop.

Miracles do happen, sadly it didn't always last.

Lisa knew her time was coming, knowing she had outlived the doctor's predictions; this was bound to happen anytime soon. It was a little after the New Year. She was being woken up, with severe chest pains. She screamed which immediately woke Jisoo up.
"Lisa baby, what's wrong?" She asked soothingly, trying to keep the panic from her voice.
Jisoo didn't get an answer from Lisa except for her occasional whimpers which caused her to curl further into herself, hoping to make the pain stop.
She knew her time was coming,
But she sure as heck was not ready for it.

Lisa was hooked to a ventilator that night, her lungs had failed her and she didn't expect any less. Seeing her lover so fragile against the hospital bed, Jisoo made a beeline to the chair beside the bed and held her sleeping hand tightly.
She leaned her head closer to the bed and rests it at the edge of the pillow. It might have been an uncomfortable position but she wanted to, she need, to remember her.
I don't want to forget...
Right before she continued her restless slumber, Jisoo hummed sotto voce. She sang a song very dear to her as a prayer, and God, she did hope Lisa would listen close in her slumber.
“Please stay by my side,
Please stay with me..
Please don't let go of me, the one who's holding your hand...
I love you,
I love you...
In the long silence, a sound comes, screaming
From my foolish and weak heart..."

The goodbye was the hardest.

Lisa was looking at Jisoo as best as she could through her half lidded eyes. She could she the hudled figures of her best friends standing on the other side of her hospital bed. God, she was so tired, and she had long accepted her fate. She stared at Jisoo with any adoration she could muster and smiled weakly.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She suddenly said, breaking Jisoo out of her trance.
"I want to remember you."
"Don't do this to yourself baby, please"
"I- I can't Lice, please I can't forget you. I don't want you to go. I LOVE YOU! Why is that not enough?" She sobbed as she desperately cling to her hospital gown to discard any possible distance between the two of them.
"It doesn't matter if I'm not physically beside you, unnie. Please don't cry, love, I'll look after you from the sky. You won't forget me because I'm here with you. I stayed in your heart. I'll visit you in your dreams, there you can relinquish all your joys and sorrows to me. You'll remember me, just like the way my heart will call out to you in the after life..."
"I love you, Lice. I'd give it all just for one more day with you..."
"Don't dwell- on your sadness please, all smiles, okay?" Lisa had to stop in between words to catch her breath as her lungs started failing on her.
“Unnie, if it is time for me to go, can you take care of Jisoo unnie for me?”
Lisa never said it to anyone  in particular neither Jennie or Chaeyoung, but the message was clear. They responded with a tight squeeze on her arm and a teary smile.
Their last moments together were spent with Jisoo brushing the remnants of Lisa hazel brown hair, as they enjoyed the silence that sang lullabies for those in passing. It wasn’t long when the silence was broken by none other than Lisa.
"Can I get one last kiss before I go to sleep, Chu?"
“Anything for you love,” Jisoo smiled a bittersweet smile through her red eyes and puffy cheeks before leaning in as they lips met in passion.
So desperately, trying to make it a kiss, one could remember forever.
"Sing for me please, Chichu…" Lisa whispered her last wish. She moved her body a little bit as she sagged against the hospital bed, eyes fluttering close.
"Hallelujah,
You were an angel in the shape of my love
When I fell down you'll be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go...
And when God takes you back,
He'll say, "Hallelujah, you're home."
Jisoo wait until her breathing became no more, before she stopped. With one last cold kiss to the lips, Jisoo muttered her prayer against her skin.
"In peace may you leave the shore;
In love may you find the next.
Safe passage on your travel," Jisoo finished and wipe her tears away. She leaned her face closer to Lisa's and mumbled against her lips.
"May we meet again, Lisa..."

It was nothing special, another day, another time, another dawn. They recalled that time when a young Lisa Manoban swore that when she died she would do it in such honour, with lots of people crying for her.
They had laughed it off then, saying that she wasn’t even close to a hero or a president. It was a stupid dream to begin with.
Lalisa Manoban didn’t die in such great honour, she didn’t die with the sound of trumpet and manmade tears marring people’s face as they pretend to show empathy to the fallen grace.
She died, on a normal Wednesday afternoon, with 3 of the brightest stars in her life, and I guessed for her,
It was more than enough.

hi this is your friendly neighbourhood australian who knows all the secrets of pocket camp already and is prepared to dispense wisdom
save your leaf tickets. i cannot stress this enough. right now your items will all be ready in less than an hour, but when you’re at level 40, stuff takes like 3 days to make 
also, materials get harder and harder to come by so frequently you’ll need to use leaf tickets to keep the ball rolling. also being able to buy campers/tom nook/kk is worth more than speeding things up
know which villagers give what. some villagers, like apollo in my camp at least for example, give paper more frequently than others, while some give, say, conserves. paper is incredibly valuable as you need 150 to make just one wallpaper
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RUGS AND FLOORS. FLOORS CANNOT BE USED AT YOUR CAMPSITE, ONLY IN YOUR CAMPER. DON’T BE LIKE ME AND WASTE 150 PAPER ON A FLOOR YOU CAN’T USE OH GOD
shake all the non-fruit trees every day! one will drop up to 1000 bells each day, and you’ll need the money you can get
put loads of stuff up in your market box, for cheap. it seems useless right now, but as your level gets higher and it gets harder and harder to respawn items, people will come and buy from you and you can get a good income
help your friends with the quarry; its nice and you get money rewards
ask everyone on your friends list to help you with the quarry EARLY. chances are you’ll miss the haul you need if you wait
even if you dont want it, make a nintendo account and get the free dosh. every leaf ticket helps, plus you get cool stuff too and a steady income to boot
objects respawn offscreen. if you need a specific bug, scare away all the bugs or catch them (recommended) and then wait in the corner for a bit. rinse and repeat
always shake your trees and just leave the fruit it doesnt rot and you’ll need more than they give you anyway (this is why the marketplace gets so useful)
add loads of people! this helps you get into the quarry, get ideas for your camp, and gives you access to loads of market boxes for when you need them. which you will.
you can expand your van...for loans. sell stuff on market boxes, or just straight up sell rare items for cheap, to pay it off
always leave kudos at someones camp when they leave one at yours; its good manners and they’ll have your back later
don’t waste materials on things you dont need; especially, don’t waste the material corresponding to your theme (cool uses a lot of metal, natural uses a lot of wood, etc.)
always have something on the go crafting, and its a worthy investment to get a second slot for crafting too
save your honey and nets for when you’re really stressed out
change up your look often and visit the able sisters constantly; they only have a few items up at the start but as you level up they have more, and cooler stuff
try and complete all your requests, and especially try and complete your stretch goals! they’re a really good way to get free stuff, so do yourself a favour and make the polka dot set and the green set; theyre cheap you only need 4 of each. just put them in your campground once at the same time and you’ll get 20 tickets, then sell them or whatever
use your request tickets wisely. specifically, use them on your lowest-level villagers. they level up faster, meaning you level up faster
at some point, get all the tents, even the ones you dont like. animals will eventually stop levelling up if you dont have their respective tent, and you will need their love. literally.
change up your look! don’t try and limit yourself to one theme - this game is a lot more fun when you look at others and try and put your own mark on the game.

Miscellaneous thoughts for the 'dark pokemon' game
* it could be cool as an actual hack of firered or something, but it seems that would require more coding knowledge than using apps like rpgmaker. Also there's that kit to make pokemon games in rpgmaker but it only worked for the really old rpgmakers and now its got copyright claimed by nintendo so its not really an option. Itd be easier to make this game in the latest rpgmaker cos its not really an outright pokemon fangame but more of a general mons genre thing that could have different gameplay if i wanted it to.
* or would it work better as an actual pokemon prequel thing? Like 'kanto was actually all dark like this back in ye ancient times' and have a bunch of prehistoric/caveman/400AD/whatever time period forms of pokemon or something? But thatd give me less creative freedom with the idea, yeah
* Not sure if your mons should talk or not? One of the initial inspirations i had for this was the underrated gem Swordcraft Story where your four starter monsters are more like a choice of sidekick! They dont actually fight, they just provide a huge different set of dialogue commenting on everythibg that happens, and its fab! But then the game kinda woukdnt have the collectable aspect and i feel that the long journeys between towns would get boring if theres no incentive to battle enemies. And long journeys between towns is kinda a big plot point and thematic aspect of this idea.
* Also i kinda wanna do Cute Pet Game Gameplay as a fun way of stepping away from the pure pokemon formula. And that'd perhaps be a bit weird if your pet can talk? I dunno? Well maybe itd be more like those baby raising games. But i had a separate idea for literally a monster baby raising game so itd be good to not overlap, lol. Wish i knew how to actually do touchscreen petting type stuff in rpgmaker, i mean its on pc so theoretically you should be able to do an equivalent with the mouse? Maybe try and cheat my way into it with my minimal programming knowledge by basically making a "map" where all the tiles are pieces of this one image of a monster, and then you walk over it to select where to pet...? I dunno lol! Anyway bonding with your mons is VITALLY IMPORTANT TO THE EVERYTHING so i need to DEEPLY THINK ABOUT IT. deeply deeply contemplate huggin some babbu
* maybe the game's title could be something like dark walk/journey/stroll/whatever's a good synonym? Cos the whole 'monster tamers are cursed and must walk the earth forever in search of somewhere to belong'
* i'm not sure how to handle the beginning? Cos of the whole aspect of starting off looking like a cliche poke-clone and then slowly revealing the deep dark lore during the tutorial segments. So we'd sorta have to skip/abridge the day of our hero leaving their village, in order to not spoil it. And have a flashback later on at the most dramatic moment! But that means itd be awkward to give you the selection of starter monster? So i dunno maybe do like kingdom hearts and have a surreal dreamworld opening segment? The protagonist is having a nightmare about that day they had to leave their family behind, and everything can be just as vague and confusing as the plot needs it to be. You cpuld be some sort of vague faceless shadow until you decide your gender, and etc? (Protagonist: wait why did i dream i couldnt remember i was a dude)
* oh and maybe you can choose a custom gemstone for your monster summoning pendant thing! Cos if its gonna be one singular thing instead of consumeable pokeballs, itd kinda suck if you had no choice which one thing youre stuck with for the whole game. Or maybe it could change but itd be more like it evolves as well as the monsters? Start off with one design and it has multiple final forms depending on your moral choices during your playthrough. Oh, or if you choose it at the beginning, maybe it somehow affects your starter mon? Like the simplest idea would just be that each starter mon has its own pendant to live in. But what if the pendant choices were elements and then the starter mon is like a vessel to imbue with it? Like you get three designs that are..i dunno, attack defense and speed? And they each have a fire water or grass form, for a total of 9 unique mon options! That way i could keep it limited to three personalities to write, if i go with the idea of the mons being able to talk. But still have a lot more free choice! Oh or maybe its not even 3 elements but 9 elements? Like the three options change depending on the base mon. Attack mon can be fire, electric or darkness but defense mon can be something entirely else. Or maybe have overlap so there's at least two choices for each element but nobody has the same entire three elements? Im bad at math tho so i cant figure outhow to arrange that to make it work...how many elements wpuld i need...?
* maybe you could choose your rival's gender as well as the protagonist? Thatd be neat if they also looked different in every playthrough. I mean the variety of starters would encourage replays so we wanna have some other stuff that changes too. And if you could choose rival gender then it wouldnt be limited to the "always the opposite gend so thus heterosexuality" sort of thing. Oh and maybe what if other characters had potential smaller changes? Like your family members having similar skin and hair colours, or you have a single parent but whether theyre a mum or a dad depends on what you picked? Or if i cpuld figure out some other more gameplayish things that i could give replay value to? Like maybe you actually have a choice of what town to go to at each point in the story, and you cant revisit the other one without replaying that chapter? And your team options would be wildly different depending on which journey you took, so itd be a nicely large difference! Tho maybe make it so that most mons are still all available on each playthru, its just that some would appear early if you made a certain choice but be at the very end of the game if you chose differently. Oh and maybe the champion would be different depending on your choices!!! Like if you complete certain sidequests you might have just added a new candidate to the potential final boss roster! Itll be whoever's your bestest bestie by the end! Tho i mean with this different setting there isnt really a league or a champion so id just have to think of some other climactic ending thing, lol.

Weekly Reflection W1
For my Final Major Project we have been given Trends to look at for August and Winter 2022. I feel the Final Major project will have lots of of different stages to to it and I feel to help to get my Final outcome I would need lots of research and planning towards it. 
The Trends that I have picked are;                                     
Phantasmagoria - Men's Style trends                              The first reason why I chose to research Phantasmagoria is because of Like the idea of the uncertainty including the idea of escapism and including the uncertain times across film, tv gaming etc. I could research what the future Tv and related things have for them. Another idea I like is the goth looks and the dark connotation relating to the idea that everything is over the top and so many variety's of colour, texture, patterns and lots of different layers. The focus here is on darks as a statement of luxurious individualism, rather than a uniform. I like the idea how the pieces are all very different but some pieces you would imagine a older person to wear however pieces like that will / have come back as popular modern pieces that appear to the younger audience. I like the idea how with phantasmagoria the pieces are very over the top Using materials to give contemporary silhouettes an element of drama and timelessness. I like the idea how the silhouettes are very modern and lots of detail and volume. I would want to loo into the gaming idea related to Phantasmagoria. Also relating to sophisticated in-game survivalist clothing and virtual garments.
Conscious Clarity - Men's I chose to research about Conscious clarity for many reasons. The first one being: I like the idea of embracing functional minimalism where buyers move to purchase fewer but more, stop the seasonal pattern pit and concentrate on flexible goods tailored for daily use. Using timeless neutrals that can easily be paired with new wardrobes. The second reason being is I like the Idea that conscious clarity involves lots of  emotive colours and textures to create unique garments with a season-less versatility. I like the idea you can use the same time all year round. The colours includes neutrals and muted pastels. However they are classy but very contemporary and have modern contras that dont reflect a particular season.  The next reason why I chose Conscious clarity is because I like the way you can experiment in such a vast way and it making it last a long time. You can do so many different things. Finally I picked to research Men's conscious clarity because the pieces are very smart but suit the younger generation as well.
Conscious Clarity - Womens For several purposes, I want to study Conscious Clarity. The first is: I like the principle of adopting practical minimalism where consumers shift to purchase less, however better, avoid the seasonal trend trap, and focus on versatile items customized for everyday use. Using classic neutrals for modern wardrobes that can conveniently be combined. The shades include pastels and subdued neutrals. They are classy but rather contemporary, though, and have new contras that do not reflect a specific season. The next reason I chose Conscious Clarity is because I like the fact you can experiment so thoroughly and make it last a long time. 
The Trend that Sticks out the most for me is Conscious Clarity in men's Style Trends.   Because I feel that you can experiment in so many different was for it and use so many different locations for the shoots. I also feel that you can experiment in so many different ways using different outfits. I also feel there is many different deeper trends that you can look into. Finally I like the Idea of looking into the Trend because I like the trend caption where it say;  Embracing the beautiful restraints of living with less. I feel I can look deeper into this and explore clothes for good prices but still look Trendy. 
For my research I have looked into looking at different designer brands exploring the different styles of the Trends and used  my word bank to help me explore the Trends. I also looked into Protests for Phantasmagoria because I felt it expressed the Trend well exploring dark times.  I feel that my research has helped my practical Responses and my Photoshoots to help with colour pallet aswell as outfit styles. 
For my Practical Work I have done 2 photoshoots based on on Conscious Clarity one for men and one for Women. I have based my conscious clarity based on my research. I wanted one of my shoots to be based on beige outfits and look minimalistic. And for the other shoot I wanted the outfits to look classy but still look functional and look stylish at the same time. have then created different, outcomes and different editing skills I have made all  pieces form each Trend relate to each other. include colour schemes and design. 
I found my shoots quite  hard because I had limited equipment due to the current pandemic. However I still like the results even though I used a makeshift backdrop and limited lighting tools.
I also limited space for my shoots aswell which was hard to get the right photo because of limited lighting. Finally the last Problem I have is that I had limited clothing relating to  the colours and designs that I wanted. 
I have pushed my practical skills by my edits, extending them further. I changed the lighting on the phots, I changed my skin smoothness using the blur tool. I have then edited some of my pieces adding text, shapes an extra colours. 
I am proud of the work that I have done this week and excited to how my work will extend further to reach my final outcome. I wish to work at the best level I can work at. 
Week 2
For next week I wish to research into one particular theme of my final chosen Trend. Looking at different research, and a variety of theme into my research. I also want to look into the different Trends inside the Trend for example looking into work wear, or Faded snapshots etc..      
 I also wish to create a photoshoot using one of my friends based on my chosen theme. Then use edits based on my Trend aswell.

Pixel Artist Research
Paul Robertson:
Robertson is an animator mostly known for his pixel art work and animation style, he's worked on a variety of projects like Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game, Rick and Morty, Gravity Falls and much more.
One way to distinguish he work is that it generally resembles a drug trip on a screen. It's always heavily characterised, bizarre and at times grotesque with an incredible range coloured that jump out at you.
His animation style is also quite interesting, everything has very fluid motion and at times it's even weightless, which in combination with the often large, bulbous creatures, or the lanky, long limbed characters just adds to the weird, cartoony aesthetic.
As much as I appreciate the skill and talent that goes into Robertson's work, I'm not the biggest fan of it. The way everything is drawn and the use of colour is very late 90's and I never particularly liked that in the first place, I prefer artwork that is somewhat more realistic, or at least a lot less saturated with colour.
Waneella:
Waneella is an artist that seems to specialise in creating impossibly detailed city and urban scenes using a Pixel artstyle, they're somewhat of a rarity in the pixel art space as they're as photorealistic and lifelike as a pixel art can get.
It's amazing to me how she turned what in concept would be a rather dull scene into stunning piece of artwork. Most of her pieces seem to be based right around sunset or dusk, giving them rather dim lighting which allows the artificial neon lights that often decorate the scenes the chance to pop.
Ultimately, I really love her work. I already enjoy east asian influences and the compact, lived in environments encapsulate that perfectly. The use of colour is also something I enjoy, nothing seems to stick out like a sore thumb unless it was meant to, the scenes are completely cohesive.
Army of Trolls:
JunkBoy - Markus Toivonen:
It was actually a bit difficult to find reliable information on JunkBoy, other than he is Mojang's Art Developer who designs all of the textures in their game Minecraft.
From what I've been able to find, his artstyle varies wildly from the very simple pixelated texture work in minecraft, to his seemingly Japanese inspired game screens. It's really difficult for me to judge his work when it's so varied, but it definitely indicates his skill.
The use of colour in pixel art is actually one of the key factors that determines whether I like it or not, and i think JunkBoy is very good at making the different colour schemes match their respective artstyles and I don't think you'd be able to tell which style he specializes in because they all are equally well done
Pixels Huh - Octavi Navarro:
Navarro is, of course, a pixel artists who has worked on the video games Photographs, Timbleweed Park and Super Barista.
This is another great example of how versatile pixel art can be as a medium, it varies completely from the other artist on this list and I would argue it is just as detailed as Waneella's work. Most of the pieces have a limited range of colour, which I think adds to the fantastical nature that is created by the subjects.
I dont have much to as about Narvarro's work except for the fact that I think its excellent. It somehow tilts in the direction of extremely detailed while keeping that distinct less detailed feel that pixel art is known for.
Evaluation:
I believe when most people think of pixel art, they think of things like Mario, Sonic and other classic video games where it was first used, which is a shame because it is way more than that. I'm honestly impressed with the variety that you can find with a little looking around.
My favourite type of pixel art is still the kind that you have to take a minute to realise it is actually pixel art, it shows such skill and patience to methodically go through a canvas and place the pixels in their perfect place.
