Love the Looney tune fandom cos if theres any piece of cannon that I find out of character or just plain bad, I can just say "oh they're just acting and playing characters of themselves" and just leave it at that

Adrien destroying that chimney was so real of him <3
Alya having differing opinions from Marinette regarding Lila and still being Marinettes number one supporter was so real of her <3
Chloe being hilarious and quite literally the most interesting girl in the show (AFTER Alya, argue with a wall about it) is so real of her <3
Nino being the best guy friend in the show (but being severely underrated in favor of Lukas boring ass) is so real of him <3

I'm going to preface this story by saying: I don't necessarily believe in karma, but
I may have been walking through today with a vague sense of disbelief tainted with unkind smugness after my tiktok fyp was flooded with poor fans who tried to get presale ticket to one mr n. kahan's new tour only to find that demand was through the roof and GA pit tickets were seriously going for $300, in presale, and even the "worst" tickets in the lawn were going for $70
and while I undoubtedly think it's deeply unethical for both platforms (thanks ticketmaster) and artists to allow such dramatic ticket cost inflation, I also generally don't relate...
I (VERY LUCKILY) gravitate towards smaller acts, and the most I've paid for a ticket all year has been, like... $90 for a ticket to beyonce, which got cancelled and I was refunded lol. if I look back at all my receipts from shows this year, most have been around $50/ticket after fees, and several have been closer to $20. my favorite show I've seen all year was a $15 ticket.
it's mostly luck—I tend to like smaller acts, and I've been seeing mainly rock acts this year, and those tickets simply don't run as high as pop acts. and part of me is honestly very grateful that I haven't been swept into any of the really recent huge acts.
I think of all the people scrabbling for boygenius or taylor swift tickets and how much money they've had to shell out... how a lot of them don't even GET to see the acts they want to see because they've been priced out or tickets sold out. I can't remember the last time a show I wanted to go to sold out lol. maybe bastille in london?
and again, it's just a matter of luck that I'm not really into any of these megastars and therefore don't have to compete in the gladiator arena to try to see shows I want to see, but sometimes luck manifests as a feeling of self-satisfaction, you know? who among us hasn't experienced a little self-superiority from time to time.
look, if YOUR tiktok was flooded with people saying concerts have been awful since 2021 (including rock and metal shows), but every concert YOU'VE been to since 2021 was amazing and the crowds were really good and you always got tickets and it never broke the bank, you'd feel pretty validated in your choice of musicians and the crowds they attract too, alright?? sue me! I felt frugal AND undeservedly clever!
anyways back to karma. guess who got invited and subsequently agreed to shell out $70 to sit in a lawn and listen to mr. n. kahan sing. I'll give you a hint, her tumblr username starts with an r and ends with an s

One of my favorite things still about Bugsnax is that the game was not afraid to have their same-gender relationships be very complex and complicated and even go through shit and be super messy before rising back up and improving after nearly falling out and it's STILL way better lgbt rep than any other media tries to do purely BECAUSE of that.
They don't depict them as completely pure and unproblematic, but they also don't demonize the pairs either. They're there and like everyone else on Snacktooth they are affected just like everyone else and that leads to them messing up and developing bad and even unhealthy habits just like everyone else and having problems like the m/f pairs in the game. I'm really thankful for that tbh, because if they fell into either extremes instead of being in a grey area like everyone else I know the fandom wouldn't feel so strongly positive about them now.

was holding this in for a second, time to set it free
YOU GOT THE DOC MCSTUFFINS TYPE BEAT GOIN ON MY DUDE.. LITERALLY GO LOOK IT UP BRAH
Doc McStuffins but its all Peppinos... That's what you made, Bean. How do you feel about that
Considering I do not like to be compared to others, and especially large companies, even with the best of intentions, it does not feel amazing (not mad)
It is evitable that I will recreate a simple concept - in this case 'toy doctor' - that has already been done, and will be done again, for it is just part of the act of creation
I am aware of the show, I just have not watched it bc it was targeted to preschoolers, and I am... Post school by like a decade, lkjdfk. No judgement to older folk who enjoy it, tho! It's just not for me, and that's okay
But like any similarities are not intentional, and I would prefer if they were not pointed out to me

i have this problem where i actually really like work that dwells on like. homophobia and transphobia or whatever. to a worrying extent. and always makes its gay characters face it. and makes them meet with tragedy. like of course i detest the fact that its often/was often the only thing that exists but me, personally, i sometimes LIKE it. i find it cathartic. and besides it feels realer and rawer to me than the 20th quirky bisexual on like sex education or heartbreak high or whatever new teen show there is. theres something so much realer about so much ‘problematic’ 2000s gay representation lmfao

in ghosts when sam and jay put on their halloween costumes and they were the stepbrothers from the movie stepbrothers and sam explained to the ghosts that their gimmick was that they had the same costume every year because it’s easy and funny and doesn’t sexually objectify her. meanwhile izombie made her do dominatrix brains. ok

Oh forgot to tell you guys. Watched most of Ghosts CBS then most of Ghosts BBC. Gotta say: Ghosts BBC definitely crushes Ghosts CBS in nearly every category - better writing, directing, casting/acting, storytelling, set design, cinematography, assuming catering, literally no competition..... except GOD i fucking miss CBS Pete. He really is my fave little guy on the CBS version and I just can't get as attached to BBC Pat.

Ugh I am SO tired of seeing stuff like "what steven universe did wrong and how the owl house did it better" on my youtube feed. Like, just stop. Do we not remember that SU started in 2013? Yeah, SU wasn't perfect (I'm not sure any show is), but it laid the groundwork for a lot of other more progressive shows. Show a little respect.
