If the entirety of BiA was a movie that Bugs/the studio made to get daffy back I think it's so funny that Daffy immediately guessed the 'spy playing an actor playing a spy' plotline

My ship is made of pride, yes. That increases the longing. And that increases the amount of times Daffy glues his eyes on Bugs when he’s not watching.

Films I've watched in 2023 (51/119)
I hadn't watched this film in at least 15 years, but loved re-watching it! I loved this film so much back in the day, watched it over and over, and it was great to see it again!

Title:  Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003)
Vote: 7/10
Spiritual heir to Space jam albeit not a direct sequel. This time, looney tunes travel the world from Hollywood and back. Funny and funny, this movie is based more than on the real characters on the Daffy / Bugs duo who by themselves drag the plot forward and up to space, literally.

With today being the 20th anniversary of "Looney Tunes: Back in Action", I have a couple of ideas for two characters that can appear in "Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem" as characters you could either unlock in-game, or purchase as DLC.
Now, I don't know if these would count as "Looney Tunes" characters, but they could use LeBron James, I don't see why they wouldn't use the other live action characters. In particular, I was thinking D.J. Drake (played by Brendan Fraiser) and Mr. Chairman (played by Steven Martin). I don't know what abilities they would have, but I know one of them should have The Blue Monkey, which, like in the film, turns anyone into monkeys. I just don't know if it would be too OP or not.

Love your avatar of the snail from the Kirby anime nobody ever talks about. 2. “Back in Action” could’ve been so much more if the focus was JUST on Daffy and Bugs (but I guess the spy plot comes from the original draft of the “Space Jam” sequel)
One: THank you!! I love him v much as I'm sure is evident by my blog theming and url
And two!! YES!! (even with that thought though I still refer to it as "the baffy movie" sometimes ajdhsajhd)
I've seen earlier drafts of the Back in Action script (warning for a lot of bad 2000s thoughts about women IRT Jenna Elfman's character) and while I'm much happier with what ended up finally coming out, I absolutely agree it could have been much better had there been less of a focus on the human characters, though at the same time it would be a completely different movie (which is hinted at a lot in a few of the Bugs and Daffy scenes)
I know at the time that specific division of WB was really struggling (because back in action was LITERALLY their last hope which. yikes) but I really really wish they had split it into two movies, I think that would have worked much better and given the writing and production team to really explore Daffy. Because like, Bugs Bunny is a Mary Sue. That's how he works, that's how he's worked for a really long time, but the really frustrating thing w him in relation to how Daffy sees him is that Bugs kinda doesn't give a shit. He doesn't really care that he's The Face of Warner Brothers and that pisses Daffy off so bad. It eats at Daffy's very being because if he were the star he would be eating it up every day (which is partially why he's not. Bugs is laid back just enough that the kind of stardom he has doesn't go completely to his head <- of course some of it still does but nobodys perfect lol). And that right there is such a strong conflict for a movie on it's own (as well as part of the driving conflict of Duck Amuck which is like. THE Cartoon featuring the more emotionally impacted and insecure Chuck Jones' characterisation of him, which is the one they went with for Back in Action)
I would love a straight-up Hollywood story with them (which is probably evident by the fact that those Feud and Valley of the Dolls quotes popped into my head when I was making The Post), and Warner Brothers of all studios has the background to really do something like that well. Which again there are pockets of that throughout BIA but really not explored in a meaningful way because they had to share screentime with the spy plot and all the other crap which was partially cut out/partially left in.
Anyway. You unleashed the floodgate of BIA thoughts I hope you liked it and thank you for the ask!

Love the Looney tune fandom cos if theres any piece of cannon that I find out of character or just plain bad, I can just say "oh they're just acting and playing characters of themselves" and just leave it at that

No, he couldn’t stand that. One day he decides that, “No, no, no! The Bren-master does all his own stunts!”
